The first time I came here I ordered the crawfish salad. It’s was a lot and good . The second time I came here I dined in . It was cool inside and had a nice atmosphere a day before Mother’s Day . I ordered the chicken sausage po boy . My french fries was cold the man said he would make me some more and I just told him never mind because about time the fries would be done I would have finished half of my meal . I will be returning to try something else different on their menu . I will be sure to tell them to make sure my food is hot and fresh because of my second time visiting my French fries were served cold .

Google
OMG! I ordered the chicken strip po' boy sandwich and Cajun fries. It was SUPER delicious!! My daughter ordered the fried shrimp & Cajun fries. We would love to give them a 10 star review. Also, Ashley the cashier was very kind. Thank you for the delicious lunch.

Google
It’s all been great so far. The fried catfish is on point but I have also loved the crawfish tails, oysters and shrimp. This is where I go to get my fried seafood fix and the prices can’t be beat. I’ve been twice and I’ve included the pictures from both trips.

Google
Spent $35.00 for two "crab cakes" and gumbo. Both "crab cakes" were burnt, and the gumbo tasted old. My gripe is with the poor quality food served for the high price. Being a first-time guest, the food was still presented poorly, prepared old, and burnt, which caused this visit to be the last.

Google
Food wasn't too bad, however the surroundings were not very clean at all! The owner seemed nice, but I don't care how nice you seem to be, if your establishment isn't clean, I don't intend on going back. The Dining area just wasn't clean nor fresh -Smelling!

Nicole Delacruz

Google
Great portions and plenty of seafood in your dishes. Everything looks and tastes authentic, fresh. Great prices. Would rate a 4.5 Cons: Some shrimp a bit overcooked and my ettouffe wasn't as creamy as I usually like and a bit too spicy vs the spicy shrimp with green and red bell peppers very good and not spicy. Gumbo needed a bit more flavor. Great crab cake with plenty of meat. We had the gumbo- Lots of seafood and Great price. Etouffe Crab Cake Jambalaya. Rice and bread included and very good.

The Bayou Grille is my must visit when I'm in LA. You just have to experience it.

Yelp
Got some sides catered for an event! We got yams and Mac and cheese and they were both bomb! Everyone (~50 people) liked them and they were completely gone by the end of lunch! They have lots of catering options. Will be back to try some of their specials. They have a variety of plates such as po'boys, low calorie(grilled fish) plate, burgers, and fried seafood.

Yelp
The food is tasty, the service is okay. There is no desire to dine in as the decor isn't very welcoming. The ambiance, or atmosphere, of a restaurant sets the tone for the entire dining experience. It encompasses everything from the decor and lighting to the overall vibe of the restaurant. And while the food may be tasty and the service may be okay, if the ambiance is lacking, it can greatly diminish the overall enjoyment of the meal.

Yelp
My coworker turned me on to this place. He's an Inglewood born 'n raised fella, with ancestral ties to Louisiana that still tug at his heart strings. He's also a picky eater, so when he swears by a place, that's because it's good. He swears by this one, and indeed the food is delicious. The twelve inch Po' Boy is a good amount of food to feed the machine mid-day, and that potato salad is really tasty & fresh. The catfish and breading is worth the trip, it's crave-worthy. This joint has its own orbit and will have you circling back, quality food for sure.

Yelp
Best cajun food I have had for awhile, found this place during traffic hour after my audition, the place was rich of history, they have a big dining room area, I ordered a bunch of different fried seafood, oysters, cat fish nuggets, red snapper, tiger shrimp, comes out around $40 which was decent, also they have reward card so they will stamp you for every visit, and you can get a free entree after 10 visits. I do wish they have alligator bites and frog legs, that would make my day even better, but oh boy there cocktails sauce are to die for, I finished them all. Definitely come back if I am in town.

Yelp
This is a great restaurant with great food and service. When my sister comes to town, we always stop in and share a Shrimp Po-Boy. I love their shrimp Po-Boy sandwich with fries. This is a great neighborhood restaurant. The owner Michael has a wonderful personality and his staff makes sure you are satisfied with your meal and your experience at this restaurant. The decor of the restaurant makes you feel like you're in NOLA. This restaurant plays great music with the TV in the second dining area has sports playing. There is free street parking. You will not be disappointed, so give them a try on your next to this area. For now let eat!

Yelp
It breaks my heart to say this but the food & service has drastically declined! Fish is dry and over priced. I'm not even sure how they melted my styrofoam container . Went from a gem to dim

Yelp
Bayou Grille Deeply Disappointed! "Gumbo" has the AROMA & TASTE OF CANNED VEGETABLE SOUP with a boatload of red and black pepper added. No roux whatsoever was used in the making of this travesty. The shrimp is overcooked and rubbery. The "sausage" seems to be a very thinly sliced hot dog link. The little snow crab legs failed to add any seafood flavor to this stuff. I feel cheated, especially after paying Door Dash over $30 for a cup of gumbo and a side of potato salad for my lunch. The potato salad was okay, but it didn't make up for the scam gumbo. This place is not what it once was.
google avatar

Shon S.

Yelp
Gumbo is all I want and all I get I only come here to get my gumbo only big crab legs good sausage chop inside delicious with the bread dip in the gumbo

Denise G.

Yelp
Jambalaya was flavorful and nice to have obvious meat (not just veggie colors & rice). Disappointed they only make and serve macaroni and cheese on weekends. Disappointed with fried catfish because the cornmeal was lumpy and rough and all dark yellow, not fine and mixed with both dark and light cornmeal. First time trying. I like Stevies Creole on Pico near Hauser, but didn't want to drive north, over the Ken Hahn LaBrea hill from Inglewood. So, I will try once more. Maybe on weekends is better.

Yelp
Really really really excellent food! I had the fried catfish and oysters with greens and coleslaw. I got my food in a very timely manner. And the service and aviance was excellent. I love black owned businesses.
google avatar

Yelp
Grew up dining here so everytime I passed by it on labrea I would crave it! I finally got to satisfy my cravings best chicken wings ever. best poboys. best beignets they taste better than the ones I had in Louisiana

Yelp
Just received my delivery of the catfish nuggets and fries. I'll pass, nuggets smelled strange.. soggy and look unappetizing inside....Ended up just eating the fries... they were decent.

Lexxus K.

Yelp
Never order from this restaurant black owned should be shut down I ordered my food on door dash and it came very fast because I stay up the street from this place but it's raining so I didn't wanna drive but my nugget were so full of grease they where soggy my fries where hard as rocks and salty and my salad was brown I was so upset I called the restaurant for someone to tell me I need to drive up there in the rain with the food for them to fix it I asked if he could take my name down because it was pouring raining and I was told no if I can't bring the food then they can't help me that's horrible customer service I will never eat here again 25 dollars to have this trash delivered to my house they need to get it together this place needs to be closed down

Anika B.

Yelp
The jambalaya was horrible. I drove across town for that garbage you call jambalaya. I want my money back horrible!!! I Don't recommend the jambalaya at all
google avatar

Theresa W.

Yelp
I must said they pretty much do regulates, place is not clean and the restrooms has urine all over the floor. Staff not really friendly ! Let's talk about the food, pretty much burn everything, Crab cakes, Softshell crabs !! Burn burn burn !! One thing pretty good is their crawfish Étouffée !!
google avatar

Chris B.

Yelp
I guess this is the closest Thing to seafood Around here , parking is horrible they are RIGHT on the corner across from Fiesta Martin
google avatar

Kandece B.

Yelp
This place is located by the corner of Labrea and 64th street. It is on and corner and you will miss it if you are driving too fast. They have outside seating in case you want to dine out but nothing available inside due to social distancing. The food bewildered me. This is why, you can taste that the shrimp and fish were well battered and fried but it had no taste i.e. seasoning. I think it is because they serve older guests who may not be able to eat certain spices and I get it but geese! I squeezed so much lemon and used everyone of my small sized hot sauces (2 given). Im like what?! Bite size hot sauces for all this food. The tartar sauce was overly seasoned and that surprised me. The food wasnt seasoned but the tartar sauce was?! Anywho, I ate it and it was a healthy meal. The bread provided in the small bag was not all the way toasted so it was just thick dough. All in all, I ate the food but had to add some extra seasoning, sauces and spices for taste

Yelp
This place is over rated over priced and not dog friendly. First off me and my girlfriend placed a phone order for pick up and the man on the phone told us it would be 43 dollars which matched the menu. At the register it was 10 dollars more. When we asked the man about the prices he said the menu and the internet needed to update the prices. SMH. Also as we were walking in the owner or the manager whatever he is screamed across the restaurant "NOT IN HERE MAN !! No dogs !! My dog is a small dog btw I picked him up. So I stepped out with him. Then he asked my girlfriend if I was with her, because he was gonna come outside and tell me to leave. Will never go back and if you read this just know no dogs ,over charged and the owner or manager is a rude old man. He needs to speak to people respectfully, not everyone is his employee. If I could give this place zero stars I would. Food was not that good at all.

Joshua H.

Yelp
I'm 38 and I've been eating at this place since I was 18, I consider Mike the Owner a friend of mine, doesn't everybody? The service is always amazing and the vibe is beyond that! Enjoy! You're welcome!
google avatar

Andrea L.

Yelp
This is based solely on an order of catfish nuggets. I can't really rate a 5 because this is all I ordered. I was craving only catfish but didn't want a huge meal. Found their menu and you can order just nuggets in different sizes. It was hot and fresh. Nice price. Made quickly. I would return to try other things.

Yelp
I had the Catfish and Shrimp with some Red Beans and Rice I must say it was amazing. The waiters did a great job we ordered and our food was brought to us while we watched the game. Nice laid back cozy dining room in the back with tv and some Jazz if you enjoy music better.
google avatar

Girlie T.

Yelp
Parking is not the best. The sides and red beans and rice is way small for the price. Liquor would be a great plus and offering yams in your regular menu makes sense. We noticed some regular folks with tabisco, creole seasonings so not sure if they knew to request or bought their own but, usually Louisiana food don't need spices or hot sauce (we were putting alot on our meal) just to enhance. Also, guy at the cashier was nice.
google avatar

Glenn S.

Yelp
The gumbo is pretty good Poboy sandwiches off the hook services. Excellent been going here for years and nothing changed.
google avatar

Lashann S.

Yelp
Ordered take out and the food was horrible. The fish and shrimp was fried in old grease, the veggies straight from the can with no seasoning, the Gumbo was nothing to talk about really just bland and tasted like seconds. The French bread just buttered and warmed I will not return and trust the bill wasn't cheap. I do not mind paying for good food and I want to patronize but it must be fresh and flavorful. So Disappointed

Yelp
The service here is not only * * * * * five star, but is above and beyond. It's counter-service you order, then you can either have your food "to go" or "dine in" where they bring you your food. The guy (and excuse me for not knowing his name, but I do believe he's a minimum a manager if not the business owner) who worked there on the MLK JR Day on Monday 01/21/19 in the evening was super friendly and helpful with his recommendations. We had our 1st time experience here knowing we'd be taking home leftovers because we wanted to try everything (or nearly that), and for 2 adults, we ordered a large gumbo (you always have to order the large when given options for sizes because it's so good, you'd regret not going bigger and also knowing you can always take home the extra for later), a 6" tiger shrimp fried prawn po' boy sandwich, a chicken strip special, and a chicken wing special... all for about $50, mind you there's enough food for 5 individual meals, so figure it's an avg of $10 per person when you think of it, for fresh food and good portions that'll fill you fine. The orders also came with garlic butter bread, and we got 2 unlimited refill soft-drinks, and they have Coca-Cola sodas as well as a decanter of their fresh made sweet tea available. The guy who was so wonderful, saw we had a baby/toddler, and went to the TV that was showing sports, and switched it to children's programming to entertain our son... he did that proactively as a thoughtful gesture which was well appreciated. It's that proactive customer care and client services that makes a business earn repeat business and regular diners who want to come back. Generally, good food is very easy to come by, there's so many choices. However, after you factor in the food quality, quantity, and pricing, there is a big variable which many restaurants don't focus on, which is service that determines whether people have a bad, mediocre, average, good, great or over-the-top dining experience. We had an over-the-top spectacular experience here. If not for the distant geography we'd come back and by more often. Parking isn't too difficult. With that being said 'tho, despite the distance, we do plan on coming back to try more of the menu items. I highly recommend the Chicken Strips, they're lightly battered, very moist, seasoned but not spicy and perfect for kids (as well as adults and eaters of all ages n' appetites). The Gumbo has real fresh snow crab in the shell (they give you a crab seafood cracker when you dine in), which is an awesome unexpected element that many other Cajun restaurants neglect adding to their gumbo. The sandwich, Po' Boy is good, and bread is soft and tasty, very easy to eat and great to share. The hot wings come in different degrees of spicy hot heat as well as zesty flavors for those who don't like it hot. I like the wings, they're not overly greasy nor fried and dry, so are flavorful. We hope to come back again when we're in the area, or might have to make a special trip out here to return if we're ever cravin' Cajun...

Yelp
Crawfish etouffe. Best in town!!! One of the best Cajun in LA. Been coming here for years!

Yelp
Good food and great service. One of my favorite places to go only thing is they close kinda early but I love the food here and the seating area is cute

Sheryl B.

Yelp
I have been dining at Bayou Grille for years and until recently, have been a huge fan of the quality and flavor of their seafood and sides. I am a Southen girl from Louisiana and grew up eating well seafood and sides dishes, especially fried Catfish, so I was very happy to find a restaurant nearby that prepared Creole food in the way that I was accustomed, and that was reasonably priced. However, since the Pandemic and with rising inflation, I have been disappointed with the quality, portion sizes and cost of the food, from Bayou Grille. Not only is the fish not seasoned as well as it used to be, but they have reduced the number of sides from 2 to 1 (unless you forgo a salad), and they have reduced the portion size of the sides while charging you $2.00 more per side for the most popular sides--red beans and rice, Mac & cheese, and collard greens. And, to add insult to injury, they only give you 2 measly hush puppies (and with this last order one of our platters only had one!). That is just outrageous! I get that food prices have risen, but if you are going to charge more for sides, you can't also skimp on the portions. That is a sure way to turn away even loyal customers like me who want to at least get their money's worth! I love a good tasting plate of fried catfish every now and then, but I'm not willing to pay $25 dollar for a platter (including up charges) only to get barely a cup of sides and 2 hush puppies. C'mon Bayou Grille, I implore you to please do better or I won't be back, and I won't recommend your restaurant to others.

Donald W.

Yelp
Great place to dine on a Sunday afternoon in California. I had the snapper and catfish specials and that they were. Thank you Bayou Grille!!
google avatar

Taneda R.

Yelp
This is the most disgusting thing I've ever had in my life. Fish cooked in old grease with a burnt taste and red beans and rice extremely dry with no taste. If I had not drove from OC I would have returned this trash
google avatar

John R.

Yelp
About as close as you are going to get to New Orleans in the 'Wood! Love the shrimp po boys and the jambalaya. Since my first review the hush puppies have improved, thank goodness! Simple sit down inside but I always get mine to go. Really friendly and caring service, by the way. They actually miss you when you don't come around often enough. Beware that street parking is always problematic due to the ever popular Fiesta Martin next door.

Ni'Quee A.

Yelp
Trash , I did a tutorial everything was gross barely sure gumbo no flavor undercooked not worth it
google avatar

Lorraine J.

Yelp
We had a Red Snapper Platter, it was cooked with love. Definitely very flavorful and I'll be back soon! I definitely recommend this place to everyone, you won't be disappointed!
google avatar

Gregory D.

Yelp
Simply put I've been patronizing this establishment of 17 years . Seems it's hit the skids . Food is decent . Customer service sucks. I was servers or received by the owner. It's starts or ends at the top . Good luck !

Guapo D.

Yelp
Ordered and my food wasn't seasoned properly no flavor whatsoever im disappointed had catfish oysters and shrimp and gumbo was alright a little watery for my liking

Javier S.

Yelp
I had trouble deciding between 10 pc Finger Lickers and the File' Gumbo. I eventually went with the gumbo because I was surrounded by the Luisiana atmosphere which reminds me of grandma and let me tell you does she know gumbo. Authentic. 5 out of 5 would go again.
google avatar

Darryl D.

Yelp
I should have known it was something wrong when I pulled up and all the black people was at the Mexican restaurant across the street. I've never had tasteless fried food before. Even worse than that, they put out food straight in the Styrofoam so it burned through the box because of the hot oil. It was so bad we couldn't give that food away. Ended up throwing it out in the trash

Luis M.

Yelp
Bussin. Shrimp, fries, onion rings, sauces, service, quality, etc. All on point. If you want a well seasoned grub. Come here
google avatar

Gil S.

Yelp
I ordered the gumbo for a delivery.. The rule was good but it was 90% chickenOne shrimp and crab.. very disappointed I tried to order some blackberries yesterday I was trying to cut cornersI literally had all chicken and one shrimp In a large bowl of gumbo... i'm sure the owner like to know this this and hopefully they can do better
google avatar

Wynter D.

Yelp
Good , Good , Good! No other way to state it. The seafood is fresh and delectable. Portions are generous . The staff seem well organised and efficient. I was recommended to order from this place by my daughter and I always pass by on my way home from work. So I decided to call in an order to pick up after work one evening. The young lady on the phone was curt but thorough. That was ok, given the Covid 19 times we're living in. I picked up my food with no difficulty. Very organised. Now, this place ain't cheap, but you get your money's worth for sure, and that's very satisfactory. I Support Black Businesses and would recommend this place to everyone.
google avatar

Marie B.

Yelp
I have been ordering from Bayou Grill almost every Friday since they have Wild Caught Red Snapper and was usually never let down with what I received in the way of the Snapper. Things changed for the absolute worse this past Friday! I usually order the Snapper plate with sides, however, this time I only wanted the 4-pieces of Snapper and the large Red Beans and Rice. Well, my Snapper looked like pieces that were left in the fry basket that broke off from whole pieces and a lot were nothing but over-fried pieces with no meat!!! The Red Beans and Rice was flavorful, however, for what I received it was not worth the price!

Monika K.

Yelp
I passED by this place millions of times and I finally tried it. Regrets... Y'ALL. Please keep it pushing, it is the worst fried fish we ever had. So disappointed. Straight in the garbage. Then... wait get this, they charged me more then the menu price on my phone order... ‍...they said they had a price change... so basically they give you extra NASTY food for your buck. Woohoo! Yikes. Anyway, consider yourself warned. #ewe #don'tdoit Again. Js.

Goldie S.

Yelp
No good today idk why usually very very good it was no seasoned today ettoufe was good but thick it's usually thinner fish an shrimp was absolutely terrible
google avatar

Laurent C.

Yelp
I called and ordered a soft shell crab poboy they gave me an oyster poboy. When I called to tell them the host who answered said she was sure that I said a oyster poboy. Horrible service and the girl who takes the orders shouldn't be working in the hospitality industry. Very horrible and nonchalant.

Morton D.

Yelp
A local black owned business with a DELICIOUS po' boy and super tasty hot sauce. What's not to love? Easy to support the local community when the food is so darn good.

Angel B.

Yelp
I was very disappointed my friend came in from Georgia wanted some good food when I got to Bayou grill I was surprised Noone was in there eating or taking out. We ordered the young people in the back the young lady at the cashier was inexperienced with helping people with the menu we went to the back and got a the table cloths were not clean crumbs on every table spots not salt pepper on the table she got my order wrong the sweet potatoes fries were very greasy and bland the mac n cheese was the worst I've seen barely had cheese the pasta was still white. I was so embarrassed that I brought someone to this ghetto hole in the wall the fish was the only thing good potatoe salad needed some seasoning I was in disbelief I was just there in February and it was pretty good but today was the PITTS I always recommend them but not any more they to clean up and get better employees and a new cook!!! Now I know why it was empty I like to support Black business but not this one no more. So disappointing.
google avatar

Tee R.

Yelp
Delicious, just like down in the Bayou. My first and definitely not my last time eating here. All staff were wearing masks and service was awesome. Thank you for your service

Tamanika M.

Yelp
Food is just ok depending on the Chef and I just realized that after today. The customer service is the worst. I spent $50 for two PoBoy sandwiches and red beans and rice and I split the bill with my Mom. We both had stamp cards if you purchase a minimum of $5 you get a stamp. They refuse to give us both a stamp because it was on one receipt. We were just here last week and paid the same way and we both got stamps and I explained that to her and she refused to give us both a stamp. I asked for a Manager and I was told she is the Manager. She was not friendly at all and this will make me not come here anymore and I will let my family and friends know as well not to come here. Customer service means a lot and they don't have it here!
google avatar

Lindsey L.

Yelp
DO NOT GO HERE. I ordered a meal, it was gross and they wouldn't do anything about it because they probably know it's gross. The meal was $21 and they wouldn't even make a new plate. Horrible customer service and it's extremely disappointing because it is black owned and I am from New Orleans.
