Visited this place for lunch during a trip to Memphis. The menu has a variety of Louisiana-inspired fare. I ordered the raw oysters as an appetizer and they tasted fresh and as good as any oysters I have had in the past. I ordered the catfish po boy as my entree. The piece of catfish was huge on the sandwich but unfortunately it had a muddy taste that's often associated with larger cuts of catfish. The other patrons were a little loose and swearing very loudly and I noticed the wait staff seemed frustrated, at least during my visit. Overall it was not horrible but I don't think it would be my first choice when selecting an eatery.

Absolutely fire food. Blackened chicken and shrimp pastawas amazing. A mix of rich white sauce and tomatoes and small amounts of onion. The presentation was on point. Portions were perfect. Chicken was extremely soft and well seasoned. I can not get this back home in Quincy Illinois. 5/5 all day. I also had their chicken strips. Crunch was on point. Seasoned. Delicious. My wife had the shrimp and craefish antufee. She loved it. My sister had the poboy shrimp sandwich. She liked it but needed more meat. We also had 3 hurricane drinks. Delicious and made with plenty of booze. Price was fair. Gratuity was included. Staff friendly. Waiter great. Food fast!

Nice place, yummy food. We ordered bacon wrapped shrimp, a burger, gumbo and beignets with dipping sauces. Aunt Patty was our waitress and she was excellent.

Good date night place, decent food and ok service. The bar was jumping. The parking was questionable, and the hostess was a bit lost, but she got the job done....

It was my first time at this location while im in memphis and we thoroughly enjoyed the food and drinks. The food actually surprised me with the great quality/ taste and the drinks were strong. I definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves seafood!

Love the Zydeco wings!!!!!!! I have come in with a big group every time I have come, and the service is great! Colby is soooo sweeet! He even knew what a Roy Rodgers was lol. 10/10 would recommend.

We had an amazing experience at Bayou Bar & Grill! The food was fantastic—full of flavor and cooked to perfection. But what truly made the visit special was our server, Annette. She’s the best! Annette was professional, incredibly patient, and made us feel right at home. Her friendly attitude and attention to detail really stood out. If you're planning a visit, definitely ask for Annette—you won’t be disappointed!

I come here often very good food and excellent service every time. They always have the games on to watch while you enjoy a drink.

Fun bar with music and an outside deck. Kicka$$ food too! Had the Eyouffee with a recommended "side of catfish" which I had blackened. Both came out of the kitchen quickly, hot, and with plenty of Creole authentic spices. They really mean "blackened" when you order catfish that way. The catfish was spicy ooooh weee. I'm glad I didn't order the Jambalaya because of the likely heat level but it sounded great! The Etouffee was spicy enough. Nice fish and crawdad mixed in. Would order many times again. We lucked up and arrived 2 hours before closing at 3pm. They were having an abbreviated day to honor their workers. That was an awesome gesture to celebrate their staff. We decided to order the chargrilled oysters for appetizers. They were good but they almost overdid it with the cheese. It caused the oysters to be a tad salty. Next, we ordered the "classic" Zydeco Wings! They are always a hit. That coating of that sweet and hint of heat sauce is always stellar. If you ever decide to visit, these are a must! There wasn't a wait and the atmosphere was chill. If you want more of a laid back feel go before 4. After 5, it feels more like a bar.

Ok so we were visiting and went to this place based on TikTok reviews. It wasn't bad but they oversold it. I am from Louisiana so I'm a bit picky on my food. For starters the jalapeño margarita was great, much better than the regular margarita and just leave the French 75 alone....this is not a French 75 establishment! The dip was ok, but a bit greasy and way too much cheese for my liking. The wings were good but eat them hot because they are breaded. I'm not a fan of breaded wings. The salad was crisp and the lettuce was fresh, again they can hold all the Parmesan. They must get a discount on cheese cause it way too much in every dish. We also had the oysters and I wouldn't get those again but again I live in LA where oysters are fresh and the taste is phenomenal. Overall not a bad chill spot and they had the game on. Our waiter was decent too, nothing to rave about.

Had a great time for lunch Tuesday. Caught up with friends I had not seen in a long time. I ordered the Cajun salad with grilled shrimp. I had the vinegar and oil dressing. It was good and light. I ordered cheese on the side. Our waiter Joey was great. He was nice and checked on us periodically. The restaurant kind of looks old on the outside. The parking lot has spaces on both sides. It has a bar with many tables and chairs. The inside is okay. Looks clean and neat. The food is consistently tasty. I will be back with my friends.

A friend told us to try the wings here and at first I was confused since it's definitely a Cajun style restaurant. But let me tell you, these are quite literally the best wings I've ever had. Our service was great and the atmosphere is quite nice. 100% will return to eat these again.

Just recently left and I typically love it, but I also never order this much. When we came it wasn't a long wait which was good. We got sat down quickly and received water. Our waitress was so sweet. When we ordered, we got two drinks, seafood dip, oysters, and wings. The food took so long to come out, we were trying not to drink our drinks so fast. When we did receive our food it was just okay. I definitely have had tastier food. We spend almost $80 and wasn't satisfied and had to go somewhere else later. Hopefully when I can go back I can have a better experience.

I sat at the bar and Christian was AMAZING! He was very friendly, without being intrusive! I had a hurricane to drink (ok 2) and the Blackened Chicken Pasta (I requested no shrimp because I don't eat seafood). It was delicious! I would definitely come again and get that same dish!!

Went to Bayou bar and grill for Mother's Day and the food was delicious! My momma raved about her catfish basket and service was exceptional. My order was catfish poboy was very good. Located in beautiful midtown neighborhood. Give this restaurant a try give more than generous portions A+ stars

I try my hardest to love this place and they just make it so damn hard. I have never had two good experiences here in a row. Honestly, it's like every third or fourth visit that truly enjoy either the food or the service. I've never had a time when everything just clicked. The place is dark, dirty, and kind of a shithole really. I can't say much other than that. I say this as just a warning. It isn't gross, old, dirty, and Overton Square like. That's not necessarily a terrible thing, I eat at lots of dark and dirty places that I love. The servers range from bubbly and nice, then you can also get inefficient and forgetful, but wait, there are also a straight up assholes too! Me being an asshole, I just don't like competition, ya know. Anyway.... Why come back? It sure isn't the damn meatloaf special. It's terrible. If you read this far, consider yourself warned. Don't get the meatloaf!! I've fucked that up twice now! It's the damn Red Beans & Rice, and the Zydeco Wings, that keep this fat man arriving time and again. There is only one better RB&R in Memphis and the place rhymes with Feast Bend in the Southwind area. Zydeco wings are fantastic, but are now up to like $45 for 10 I think. Some dumb crap like that anyway. I'll be back I guess since you said I have too... '24 - 53/100

The margaritas!! When in doubt go to Bayou when you got a dry mouth. lol The wings were pretty good too, can't remember the name but it started with a Z. Fire!

We had a basket of beignets which were delicious. I also ordered a Georgia peach cocktail. I'm not a big fan of some cocktails, so I'm not the one that you should base your opinion off of as it was strong to me, but that might be good for other people. I would definitely check this place out. It had great service and it's a fun environment.

I don't even remember the last time I was here. It has had to been over 5 years ago. This entire area gets crowded so parking is scarce but this place has two private parking lots. The best thing about this place is that the service is great and the staff is friendly. The decor makes it looks like a sports bar and they do have plenty TVs. They have a ton of food and drink specials. I ordered the Friday lunch special of Chicken and Shrimp pasta with bread. THe bread was untoasted but the pasta was great and filled with chicken and shrimp. I also got the dirty rice. The dirty rice was an oily mess and I wish I stuck with the salad. The bread budding and ice cream was decent. I didn't know they charged more for ice cream. Good experience. I can see myself returning.

Outstanding Jazz club! Make your reservations! You won't be disappointed! My wife and I visited New Orleans a few weeks ago, and went on a Friday night, as it was recommended by a local, who is a jazz musician (guitar) as well. We had a fantastic evening, listening to the Jazz performed by outstanding musicians, and noshing on the various offerings from the menu in the bar, as well as the full restaurant across the hallway. GO THERE!

I walked in the most smallest private parking lot. It was a bit tight as far as getting to the entrance when Memphis traffic isn't in a hurry. I got to the entrance and they also have a ramp which was easy accessibility. Which is a major plus for inclusivity. The ambiance was cozy, like New Orleans cozy. The music is a mix of everything. You have to wait to be seated not mad about that cause on a Wednesday night it was pretty lightly packed. Possibly a bit under staffed but I will NEVER complain about great service. I was seated very quickly. It took a minute for my server to come be cause she had 5 other tables. And the simple fact she could remember my order the whole night was amazing and impressive. Good was hot, well made, and I was always checked up on. I'm full as a tick now. 9.2/10

The zydeco wings are the bomb.com! Everything comes out hot, hot! I wouldn't get the fish again, it's a lot of fish fry and not enough fish.

We had a great lunch again at Bayou, can't beat their Blackened Chicken sandwich! Ask for Jackson he will hook you up.

The fish was fried to perfection but the overall dish was blend. No seasoning at all. The rice was a mushy texture and left a weird aftertaste. The spinach was just spinach and parmesan. Again, lacked seasoning. Next time I will just stick to the zydeco wings.

8-2-25. Here for lunch. I don't know why people come here to eat. The food is really overrated and a little pricey. Each plates were small portions and not really Cajun style cooking. I ordered a cup of Seafood Gumbo and Jambalaya plate. They both tasted the same and they had little to no meat. Both were lukewarm. My spouse plate was Shrimp and Crawfish Etiquette and was not very good either with little shrimp and crawfish. My daughter plated Grilled oyster was okay. We had tasteless small Beignets and it was nothing with no power sugar The only thing that was good was the water. The waitress was slow and the food came out slow with hardly anyone here. Do these people know how to cook at all? We will not be back, period.

Service was excellent annd very informative. I had I lot of questions being my first time. Food came out in a timely manner and was very good.

Brunch at the Bayou! You should know. There is a reason there is a line. Just get a seat at the bar! That's where you want to be at anyway. It's worth the wait though.

Had a great time here watching the Memphis Tigers vs Wichita state basketball game. The place had steady traffic which was great that it wasn't crowded. Most of the patrons were there to watch the game as well as have a great meal. We had the 1/4 muffaletta sandwich with a bowl of seafood gumbo soup and my friend Greg had the Bayou breakfast. We both had a great meal. The service was great and the atmosphere with the closeness of the game was amazing! Everyone got involved in the game including the wait staff and the celebration when they won was awesome! Definitely a great place to catch the game oh and a great meal too!

The service was horrible. It took just over an hour for my party of 4 to receive our food. This is what I was given for my Blackjack Burger maybe 4 would have made up a decent burger. After asking for the checks with 4 men sitting for lunch she brought one check. We were in a rush so we gave one and when we received the receipt she gave herself 18% tip from a table of 4. She knew she gave horrible service so she forced an 18% tip.

Horrible service. I went with my wife and children. They brought us the wrong food for one of my children. We waited another half hour for his food. The waitress came by and didn't refill our glasses, and on top of that, they charged me a 20% gratitude fee. And the food isn't worth it. I won't go again. dirty table, Dirty chairs and I never see the manager. Bad service 000.000 Attitude

Everytime I'm driving through town I stop here halfway through to grab lunch! I've never actually eaten inside I've always just gotten it to go so I can't say a lot for the inside or the service. I always get the seafood gumbo and it's soooo delicious. I could eat it everyday. I also have tried the dirty rice and it was pretty good but gumbo is the best to me. Can't wait to go back!

The food is good. This was our favorite a while back. Lots of changes have moved it way down our list. Beer is now served in a plastic cup. I don't mind paying $7.00 for a beer, but not in a cup. The menu is much more limited than it use to be. You now also only get a plastic fork to eat with. The service has also gone down. We use to drive the 30 miles once a week, not anymore.

This is one of my favorite places to visit. I love the scenery. We always take the patio seat. The food is always great but yesterday was very special. We had Kobe for our server and he gave us the most magnificent service. He gave us great conversation, he also ensure that we had everything we needed. He came back a few times to access. Was everything okay? Did we need anything else? His service was superb. Thanks, Kobe Great service and good conversation.

My friends and I met up here and i was overwhelmed by which tasty cuisine I could try. I selected my standbys, which was a 1/4 muffuletta with red beans & rice. They were both expertly prepared and paired well with my Abita Andygaror beer. The bartender worked swiftly and was pleasant. The bar area was spacious and allowed my group the opportunity to not feel too crowded. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience and I look forward to returning.

I come here every so often and the food is very tasty, but this was my first time I trying the Grilled Chicken Sandwich. I have to say, I was a lil disappointed with it. The buns were greasy and sort of, drowned the chicken. The chicken wasn't as seasoned, the juice was cooked out of the chicken which made it tough and the sandwich sort of slid around in my hands. The service was good like always. The staff is pretty cool. I do enjoy coming here and will visit again, might not get the sandwich again, but I will be back cause that catfish is fire. it's a nice place to chill, vibe and get a nice drink too.

I've not had a good experience at Bayou, yet. Food ranged from barely acceptable to mediocre. Po-boys, gumbo, fish, wings, shrimp, muffuletta, etc. I would love to find something good there, but it's all consistently bland and lacked flavor in general. There was nothing outstanding on any visit, and I have ordered something different each time trying to find something to like here. The wings were probably the best so far, but they were just mediocre, and I think they're over $40. Service ranges from nonexistent avoidance to aloof to very good. It's random. Ambience is casual, crowded, and noisy, with TVs like a sports bar in some areas of the restaurant. In quieter areas, the servers forget about you. They hang out and wait mostly on their friends, if they know someone in a group of locals. Tourists be warned on that. Parking is often a hassle, so plan some time to find parking. The good news is you're on the square, so if things don't work out in the restaurant, there are lots of better options within walking distance and across the street. quick edit: I forgot to mention they upcharge their bills. It's at least 15% automatically added, and they have trouble explaining it. The description makes it sound like it is not an automated tip, and they're hoping you tip a lot more on top of that and another fee that is sometimes added. Another point for tourists be warned on that.

My cousins wanted to take me to Bayou while visiting Memphis. I love the location. I think Bayou Bar & Grill has a lot of potential!!! The food was just OK to me. They had a wide variety of menu items. I ordered the spinach/artichoke dip and the Beyond Meat Bayou Burger. It did not wow me. The waitress and host were nice. I liked that the feel of the restaurant did not give off a true 'bayou" feel like other places with bayou in the name. It was very casual...maybe a little too casual. I will say the drinks were really good; not too strong but still good. The only thing that made me have a blank stare moment was the roach we say crawling near our table. It was on a mission. It messed up the evening until we ordered more drinks. All roaches aside, I would like to go back on day to try their brunch. Their dinner just didn't do it for me.

The service was terrible and so was the food the burger I was given had pickles all on the bottom bun which made it soggy the drinks all tasted watered down burger look like it was store bought with old lettuce coving it and that cheese was disappointing I will never return especially the price for all of that was too high for food not well done at all.

The Zydeco sauce is not the same please bring the old cooks back. I understand that's its under new management and the new manager is very nice and helpful, but we need the real real Zydeco sauce back, I was so disappointed.

KC is a wonderful server! Traveling from out of town and had a great experience and the food was perfect. Definitely recommend.

If i wanted 2 sausages and 1 piece of chicken i could have cooked at home. I ordered the jambalaya, it was mushy, no meat, and cold. Highly disappointed!
