San Diego’s Best Sports Bars and Restaurants | Eater San Diego

"With a large television in the back room and the dining room TV screens visible from both the front patio and indoors, there are many places to watch sports games at this Crown Point gastropub. The menu is playful — think mini corn dogs with honey dijon sauce — and gives diners plenty of variety. Options include several burgers, sandwiches, crispy fish and chips, and a tuna poke stack." - Eater Staff

Google
Their beer cocktail was a delightful surprise - fruity and refreshing without being overly sweet. The food was equally impressive. Started with calamari that was perfectly cooked - tender with a light, crispy coating. The truffle fries were absolutely outstanding - crunchy on the outside while maintaining a perfect potato texture inside. The truffle flavor was well-flavored and not overwhelming as it can sometimes be. A major highlight is their open area with outdoor seating, which seems to be a favorite among dog owners - noticed many people enjoying their meals with their four-legged friends. Perfect for those beautiful days when you want to dine al fresco with your pup! Good for sports watching too! The layout and TV setup make it an excellent spot to catch a game while enjoying their great food and drinks. The combination of excellent beer options, well-executed food, pet-friendly outdoor space, and sports-friendly atmosphere makes this place a standout. Ideal for casual dinners, game days, or meeting up with friends who appreciate good beer and tasty appetizers. Will definitely be returning to explore more of their beer selection and menu offerings!

Google
Our food was good but not amazing. I have a feeling our burgers were sitting for a bit before being brought to the table because they were not very hot. These things happen when a restaurant gets super busy. Overall a solid 4 out of 5. I'd absolutely try eating here again.

Google
Really sweet place. Good for families with pups, food is solid, nice kids menu (my picky kids actually finished their food!) and doggie menu (our little dog had the beef patty and gulped it down- no surprise there) Chicken wings were perfect and the beer selection is very interesting. Tried the berry lager- it was really good. Service was friendly and efficient. Lots of TV’s for those looking to catch a game with a nice, fun atmosphere. Cute neighborhood, but parking might take a minute so pack a little patience for that. Well worth it though!

Google
We definitely found our new spot to watch UFC fights! The food is tasty and the menu is well priced. Everyone we come here, the service is awesome (shout out to Destiny and Chris for always taking such great care of us!). Can’t say anything bad about this place. They’ve gained long time customers!

Google
Came here for ufc 311 EPIC and 318 with the boys. Truly stunning. Latitude 33 on tap. Epic drafts. Buffalo salid bc I'm on a diet. Impeccable Saturday night. Homie got asked to share a bathroom its pride month hit the sink. Shoutout Loly for servicing this establishment. Table was reserved and we were seated immediately

Google
Great location, wide open windows, and tons of TVs which is great for sports fans. Funky decor in the bathrooms. Some games in the back room. The food was pretty good. Modern and funky decor. The service was good until their friends showed up and then they paid less attention to others and then got good again after they left. They left our empty plates in front of us and they paid attention and spoke to them even though they were to my shoulder at the bar. Would’ve been nice if they restocked the bathroom with soap and whatnot which still wasn’t done 2 hours after I let them know. And the bathroom drain wide open isn’t a great look. But, I’ll go back if friends want to enjoy another game there because it was good when it was good.

Google
Liked the interior and the service was great. I’ve been here several times. Maybe the best side salad I’ve ever gotten. The burger was excellent as were the Mac & cheese bites. The fried pickles were not crispy and we after trying them was didn’t eat them. Maybe they should have sliced them the other direction. Loved the Margaritas. We also have had their Brussel sprouts and they were great. Give them a try.

Google
Love Bayside Landing! The food is great and they are dog friendly! They brought my baby Ramsay his own water bowl and some treats. Highly recommend and will be returning soon!!

Yelp
following up-- the restaurant did offer me a gift card to make up for the order. My waiter Bijan made sure I got my gift card and provided us great service today!

Yelp
I recently came here to watch one of the Padres games and loved the atmosphere. The crowd can get pretty packed, especially on game days, so I'd recommend making a reservation or getting there early. Despite the crowd, the staff was incredibly friendly and efficient. The food came out surprisingly fast, even on a busy night. I tried the BBQ Pizza, it was amazing! I was so happy to have leftovers too! I can't wait to come back and try more of their menu. Definitely a must-visit for any sports fan in the area!

Yelp
The food here fell a little short for us. The chicken sandwich was good, but the potato skins were not very good, and the Mac & Cheese wasn't the best. The service was good -- the two people serving us were friendly and attentive. They have large picnic style tables or hightop tables. A pool table and lots of TVs.

Yelp
Here's a fun review for Bayside Landing: Title: Brunch Goals & S'mores Glory! Let me tell you about Bayside Landing, where brunch dreams come true and dessert victories are earned. The brunch? Chef's kiss. But the real star? The S'mores dessert. This masterpiece is probably meant to be shared...but who are we kidding? I took on the challenge solo and lived to tell the tale. Every bite was worth it--no regrets, just chocolatey, marshmallow goodness. If you haven't experienced it yet, you're missing out on a sugar-coated adventure. Go for the brunch, stay for the S'mores. And maybe bring a friend--unless you're ready to face the sweet beast alone, like I did!

Yelp
Amazing chicken and waffles!! Good Bloody Mary drinks. Next time I will have the breakfast Mac and cheese with eggs on top. I highly recommend as a great brunch spot. The only drawback is the TVs were so loud it was hard to have a conversation.

Yelp
Bayside is a neighborhood favorite! I've been many times at different times and dates and there is never a wait for a table. Our favorites include the grilled chicken sando, the burgers, the Caesar salad and their tots! With an open seating floor plan, this venue even has a menu and a spot for doggos!

Yelp
I've been here several times and each time the service has been not very good. The place is not very big and it always takes at least 10 minutes just for server to come over. However the last time I went it took 25 minutes for a server to even come over. And then to order food and get that was another long wait. It was a lunch time on a weekday and there were a few other tables but nothing crazy. I also noticed the server would only go to one table then go back to the kitchen and then come back out and go to another table. She should have hit all her tables at once. My last visit there I got the Loco moco and it was just okay. I probably will not order it from there again. The prices are also on the higher end. Parking is free but it is street parking only. There's a main street and then residential. You might have to drive a block to get parking but over all its not too bad.

Yelp
Had been meaning to try this place out for awhile since I used to drive by it all the time. Finally decided to check it out recently and wasn't disappointed. Now, firstly, parking does kinda suck since there's no parking lot. I drove around the neighborhood for a few mins before I found something. So keep that in mind. That being said, the location is open, with plenty of room to see along the front exterior. Even more seating inside, with mostly large tables for bigger groups. We were welcomed right away and the staff was eager to help. There were plenty of beer and seltzer selections, we I enjoyed. The menu also seemed to have quite a bit to choose from, which had me hesitant at first. Ultimately we ordered the Fonz burger (classic cheese) and bayside burrito (carne asada). Both were simple concepts but delicious! Even the salsa for the burrito had more flavor than I expected. This place is definitely a great option to walk to with friends and have a few drinks. Very chill atmosphere and the food was great. I'll definitely be back to try more.

Yelp
Great service. Great food. Clean bathrooms. Parking is hard so walk there and park by Mission Bay park. Had the burger with sweet potato fries and Sauv blanc and was delish. Trust!

Yelp
This a casual Gastropub near the bay that can get crowded and busy at times. Seating at the bar can get tight. Service is good and the staff are always friendly, so if they're busy they're not ignoring you, they really care here. They have outside seating for pets. Great rotating assortment on tap. Great place for breakfast or brunch. Plenty of appetizers and menu entrees that are great here, several are shareable and portions are large. It's a well thought out menu of American fare that exceeds expectations and has something for everyone! Recommend: The General Tso's Cauliflower is a great appetizer ... and the mini corn dogs ... and the pretzel bites ... and the Truffle fries ... all with a cold beer ... (so much is good here, sorry) It's all good but definitely try the General Tso's Cauliflower! I had the Loco Moco, since I've tried all the burgers and liked many other entrees on the menu. The Loco Moco is a half-pound of crumbled beef patties mixed with brown gravy and diced onions on top of garlic fried rice, topped with two eggs sunny-side up and garnished with fresh chopped green onions. It's definitely not Hawaiian style, but it's really delicious and satisfying regardless. I regret changing to white rice instead of the garlic fried rice ... I think they know what they're doing. Upon seeing the dish I thought there wasn't enough gravy, but it was just the right amount, order more gravy if you want it smothered. I'm also glad they carry Tabasco since this is a must on my Loco Moco. Overall Bayside Landing is a solid keeper on places near the beach and bay to get a beer and some great food!

Yelp
We like Bayside Landing! The people are always nice and the ambiance is chill, easy going pub/bar grill vibes. Food came out quickly and service was good! 3/5 for the food really. The food was just OK - we had the carne asada nachos (quite salty and carne asada seemed like it was probably frozen and heated up, too saucy), Fonz burger (burger meat itself was tasty but we got an egg on top which was a bit overcooked), and chicken Caesar salad (quite basic). We mostly like to come here for the casual vibes and the proximity to the bay.

Yelp
Not a bad place to stop for some good beers and food that is decent. It's seat yourself kind of bar and can be good for large groups as they have large tables. I will say they have a good selection of beers on tap that rotates. Service is definitely slow so definitely don't come here if you are in a rush.

Yelp
3.5 stars... Purdue alumni game watch for 2023 season! Ordered the Bacado burger and wings... perfectly cooked burger with all the right toppings, nothing comes with the burger, so fries were $3 extra. My bride opted for the wings, Buffalo...good size, flavor, and sauce. Great local beer selection! Only issue was service, which appeared to be hungover, and very spotty... Ambiance is industrial nautical, service was poor, and prices are in line with the locale...

Yelp
Food is always top-notch for being more of a brewery/pub style restaurant. Service is always great as well, highly recommend stopping by.

Yelp
I don't know how it has taken me years to post another review for Bayside Landing but apparently it has. I frequent this spot on the weekly after walking around the bay or for trivia night or just a random weekend to play a quick round of pool. I have loved this spot for years especially when living over in this neighborhood, the food and drink are great and they are dog friendly which we know is a win for all! Really everything on the food menu is super tasty so you can't go wrong some of my favorites include the mini corn dogs and coconut shrimp and I also love their burgers and their salads that I love to make into a wrap. If you haven't been here in awhile they do have a full bar now compared to in the past when it is was just beer and wine. If you want to come and enjoy trivia I highly suggest coming early or making a reservation so you know you can get a table because it gets crowded quickly and the teams are competitive which turns into a fun evening!

Sydney M.

Yelp
My roommate and I placed a to go order for the BBQ chicken salad and sadly when we got home there was barely any chicken in mine. My roommate ending up with no chicken and barely any toppings. When I ate at the restaurant it was a hefty portion so I thought it would be great to go, but unfortunately not. We tried calling the location several times, but nobody answered. I'm sad to see this type of service since I come here often to enjoy the food, atmosphere, and people.

Yelp
The owners have the audacity to charge a "minimum wage fee" that has been deemed ILLEGAL by San Diego tax authority bc they don't pay payroll taxes on it WHILE THEY UNDERSTAFF THE FLOOR. One girl was literally running the entire floor and our service was extremely slow bc of it. She was trying her hardest and was an amazing server but the management failed her while gouging customers. I'll be filing a complaint with the IRS and will ask for a payroll audit. This type of scamming needs to stop. Either pay your staff more and CUT YOUR PROFITS or find another business endeavor. Your owners are cóŵárds in every sense of the word.

Yelp
This place was phenomenal, the food did not disappoint, the nachos were out of this world, sweet and sour cauliflower was also delicious. The staff were super cool. The beer selection was extensive. I'm so glad I ran across this place by accident. I highly recommend this place if you're ever in the area.

Yelp
Miguel was great. 10/10 service and atmosphere. Also love the Mac and cheese and lavender lemonade kombucha

Yelp
Came here with two friends on a Wednesday night. They have trivia here Wednesday nights! We shared the fried truffle chicken sandwich and bbq chicken pizza. I wanted to love the sandwich but I was disappointed by the chicken being a little on the dry side. It didn't come with any sauce but I think they could've been a game changer here. The pizza on the other hand was surprisingly delicious!! We were all really impressed by it. I can't remember the names of the drinks but we tried a few and liked them all. The servers were all really friendly and happy to answer our questions. It was definitely a fun place to hangout especially for the trivia night.

Mike J.

Yelp
Not sure how this place ever gets 5 stars but you know the PB crowd is easy to please.... Came here serveral times and have been more than disappointed each and every single time. The food is MEDIOCRE (when shawn was running the kitche, and now this pete guy, nothing has changed.) As someone who works in the industry and have worked fast casual places, the wait time on food is beyond ridiculous and would never be acceptable at any place I have worked. Maybe its the fact that the kitchen crew sits in the back and smokes and drinks while there is food to be made. I walk my dog around back and those guys are literally out in the cars, smoking and drinking. I know since they got the liquor license, that's probably what keeps them afloat but who ever is running this joint needs to re-think the kitchen, staff and entire menu. Gave you guys a shot, but will not be back!

Yelp
Underrated! $10 a bottle for weekend brunch alongside an amazing brunch menu! I feel like Bayside landing is sometimes overlooked in PB because you naturally head down garnet. But the menu and vibe is definitely worth checking out and going back! It's an indoor/ outdoor style, so fresh air from anywhere you sit. High top tables and bar seats are also available. I've gone here mainly for brunch with friends but have also been here for lunch. What first appealed to me was the ambience, it looked cute, trendy, casual, and I was surprised by their food! They have all the brunch basics plus some of their own specialties. I occasionally dream about their California Grilled Chicken Sandwich - toasted with fresh pesto to perfection! If you love bread and cheese, the smoked gouda mac n cheese bites are also a must try! Parking could be a bit of a process, since the restaurant is located off a main street. But you should be able to find parking off one of the residential streets within a few minutes - I used to live a few blocks down so I didn't usually drive to dine in.

Yelp
The best Burger in Town , even better than Rocky's if you ask me. The service is amazing and my family just absolutely loved the teriyaki plate. The cocktails are made perfect
google avatar

Lynne K.

Yelp
The food was delicious I had the lava cake for dessert and it was so moist and spongy. The customer service was the best we had Deanna and she was the best cuz she had nice meaningful conversation with everyone. She always had a smile on her face even when dealing with rude costumers. The Landing was also so nice a Tom Petty/Stonez tribute band was playing; I loved it, the view was also so nice you could see planes come and go! I loved it.. (Written by our 10yo grandson, great family restaurant to share great music. Thanks Keegan.) Also Luis is amazing, Omar the bartender always accommodates special recipes and Alex was our first server but now is the manager! Ps. This was written by a 10 year old
google avatar

Yelp
I love this place. Food is really good! Happy hour and brunch are the best time to visit in my opinion. Great wings
google avatar

Katie L.

Yelp
Food, drinks, and service are always on point! My go-to place in my neighborhood! Coconut shrimp, wings, Brussels, power bowl, teriyaki chicken plate are some of my faves along with the breakfast burrito in the mornings, really you can't go wrong.

Sierra A.

Yelp
Great beer list and good vibe! The perfect place to do trivia or watch a sports game with friends. I think the food is pretty good for the price point and location. My favorite is the bbq chicken salad in wrap form- so good! Very dog friendly and overall a good casual spot for some drinks with friends
google avatar

Jenny B.

Yelp
Great service, food and fun place to watch sports. Also environment is fine for kids.
google avatar

Yelp
You get one star extra because you are close to me... I honestly never want to spend my money here... and I live up the street. SERVICE is awful. Don't be Entitled for your money. I miss what this place use to be...

Yelp
The food was made fresh and full of flavor, it hits the spot every time. Customer service is always great and it's pet friendly :)

Michelle C.

Yelp
If you need gluten free - go somewhere else. Server had no information and no desire to gain information regarding gluten content or cross contamination. Pizza was on a flatbread type crust - pretty tough and no flavor. Asked for a Stella type beer - got a flat hoppy blonde. This is not someplace I'd go back to and not a place for anyone that has celiac.

Yelp
*Bayside Landing* is a neat Gastropub that is situated on Ingraham just about where PB leads towards Mission Bay. I've been here a few times- both during brunch. The open and airy atmosphere is nice with the fresh air from the open windows out front. The ambiance is nice and great for drinking and eating along with a bar for those who may want to catch sports on their TV's. Service has been friendly with terrific service- just the right amount of space and checking up on us. On my most recent trip- I came 10am on Saturday and had some Cold Brew to jumpstart my day. This was so good! As for my entrée- the portions are generous and I decided to get tots instead of rosemary potatoes. My sandwich was on ciabatta bread- and so filling from the eggs, avocado, sausage, swiss cheese. The herb aioli also turned this brekky sandwich up a notch- so good! Tots had yum soft crisp and was made to perfection. Overall, an excellent option for brunch deliciousness!
google avatar

Mara M.

Yelp
Our food wasn't very good - the tots were basically inedible (it tasted like they had been cooked in dirty bath water or with old socks or something) and the burgers were just ok. Would not get the burger or tots here again. The drink selection is great and the vibe is super cool. All the servers are really friendly too! Will come back because it's one of the few bars in walking distance of our house and a fun place to hang out, but haven't been as impressed with the food here lately.
google avatar

Bryan L.

Yelp
My wife and I went to BL for Sunday lunch. She had the ciabatta breakfast sandwich with rosemary potatoes. She loved it. I had the California chicken sandwich with tater tots on a ciaibatta roll. Not so great. The chicken had been pre-cooked maybe even a day or two before. It was cold, dry and very, very chewy. I couldn't bite through it, and had to deconstruct the sandwich and cut it with a sharp knife. It still proved challenging to cut. This definitely cast a shadow over our experience there. I make it a point to never send food back for obvious reasons, so I was stuck with it. This sandwich could have been a 10, but instead, it was a 3 at best. This is the equivalent of serving a breakfast sandwich with an over easy egg that was cooked two days ago. You would never do this. So don't serve old chicken. Recommend serving only fresh food. This simple change can affect a customer's entire experience and improve their opinion of your restaurant/pub.

Emily G.

Yelp
Bayside is my neighborhood restaurant I love coming here. Kiera was a wonderful server and accommodated to all our requests. Their California scramble and fried chicken sandwich is

Kylene A.

Yelp
Great food, awesome service! Our server Nick was fantastic, definitely made our day. We went to watch football and grab some brunch, their menu had so many great options we had a hard time choosing! Ended up going with the ciabatta breakfast sandwich and the breakfast burrito and they were both 10/10. Thanks to Nick and the rest of the team for a great experience!

Christine T.

Yelp
We love coming here! The back patio is great for kids with a giant connect 4 and the food selection is great. We haven't tried anything but breakfast but plan to try other meals.

Yelp
The cauliflower app was delicious! Our daughter loved the pretzel. It was warm and fresh with a tasty cheese dip. The flatbread was good as well. Staff was friendly and helpful too.

Yelp
I had pick up order and they made me wait 40 min. (She kept telling me "oh it will be ready in few minutes) After that she (host) just said that they are missing the order on the system. Which means she lied to me first.

John G.

Yelp
There's been several different occasions with Bayside leaving a bad or should I say awkward taste in my mouth? For starters this place is advertising themselves as a Purdue bar, which is fantastic, but are they REALLY a Purdue bar ? -I call yesterday to inquire about the final four game and was told come on over. We get there and before I could even get my hand on the door to walk in the manager (buggy looking guy) bursts out the door only to awkwardly stare at us and ask what we want. I was assuming the Purdue sweatshirt would be a clear give away, but I didn't even get a Boiler up. Was told we needed reservations if we wanted to stay and were forced to leave. SERIOUSLY???WHAT KIND OF SPORTS BAR IN SAN DIEGO TELLS ME I NEED RESERVATIONS. Bro you're not a 5 star steakhouse. Also we should have been told on the phone earlier when I called we needed a reservation if that was the case, not a "Oh come on over". So I think the manager was just lying to me on spot to avoid having too many people which is absurd when you're advertising yourself as some big Purdue bar. -Additionally earlier in the year I show up for a regular season basketball game after being told the game was being shown there to find out they don't even have Big Ten network? It's like come on man get it together. Honestly the effort was there to try to be a Purdue bar, but your nothing like Purdue or what our campus would have to offer, kind of disgrace to our Name if you ask me. Would recommend not even wasting your time here!!!!!!!
google avatar

Becca S.

Yelp
I had the misfortune of dining at this establishment, and I can confidently say it was the worst experience of my life. The waiter seemed to have a personal vendetta against providing decent service. He consistently ignored us, messed up our orders, and treated us as if we were invisible. It's baffling that he still has a job in customer service. Save your sanity and avoid this place at all costs!

Caroline W.

Yelp
We love bayside! Hands down best truffle fries in San Diego. Also recommend the breakfast burrito.
google avatar

Melissa B.

Yelp
Fun spot to grab a drink with lots of indoor and outdoor seating options. Good for big groups and slightly elevated bar food. We got the mac and cheese as a shared plate for the table and it was amazing - very cheesy and flavorful. The fried pickles were okay but I like when they are the full spears, these were mostly just fried batter. For our meal I tried the slammin salmon sandwich and the chicken sandwich but subbed turkey for chicken. I've never had salmon on a sandwich but was a fan and also enjoyed the turkey. The seasoning on the Tater tots were amazing and fries were also good. The Italiano flatbread wasn't my favorite but everything else was good!

Robert V.

Yelp
First time visiting and we'll definitely be back. The food was delicious as well as the dinks.... Very cool atmosphere kid friendly..

Yelp
If you're looking for a nice sized bar/pub with tvs, good food, and nice size selection of cocktails this is it. They do have a front and back patio, somewhat on the small size but perfect if you have pets and are looking to bring them along. The back patio is a hidden gem in the back (past the pool table) with games that will add fun to any visit. I've been coming here for a few years now and have nothing but good things to say about the staff. There has been 2-3 occasions where our orders were incorrect and/or cold, but they've fixed the situation with a smile each time. If you're ever in the area, it's definitely worth checking out- especially for the sangria!
google avatar

Tetchie R.

Yelp
Had happy hour drinks, an appetizer and dessert while sitting and enjoying the outdoors. Service was good, food was good and staff were so friendly. Will definitely be back.
google avatar

Kathleen J.

Yelp
This place has a brunch menu it supposedly serves 9 to 2. I've gotten the wings many times. Today they said they were only serving brunch items. But the wings and other items ARE on the brunch menu both printed and online. I didn't order anything and will never come back.
google avatar

Emmett T.

Yelp
The last time I had visited Bayside Landing was after I had received some coupons on an advertising card in the mail. One of them was 50% off the bill between 8 pm and 10 pm on Sundays. Parking at that time of night is easier than other parts of the day when the street spots in the Crown Point neighborhood are filled. There are plenty of TVs here so some sporting event will always be shown in the evenings. It's a dog friendly establishment too as pups can hang outside where they have front patio seating. A pool table and some other table games are available in a back corner of the establishment. On this occasion, I had decided to order the 1/2 pound Kahuna Burger with tater tots. The burger was dressed with bacon, cheddar cheese, a grilled pineapple ring, and spicy cilantro aioli. It was pretty good, but I felt their neighbor two doors up the street executes a simpler and better burger. For the service, prices, and food quality, I gave this place a 3.5 star rating.
google avatar

Rachael R.

Yelp
I'm a local and always drive by this place and finally made a point to try it this month. My first experience was a burger that I postmated. It was burnt and nothing special. I wanted to actually dine in and give it another shot. Came with a friend and we ordered the brussel sprout appetizer, the teriyaki plate and the quinoa bowl. The brussel sprout appetizer was the only thing that we enjoyed. The teriyaki chicken was chewy and the vegetables were overcooked. The quinoa bowl was extremely bland and needed a sauce or something. I will say the service was good but I'd only come back here for the beer and brussel sprouts.
