Bayside Tavern

Well Bayside had a nice ambience, nice food, service was ok. On the plus side they do have gluten free options and the price was pretty friendly. For a low sodium meal, I had the Leif Salad with a Grilled Chicken Breast- green pepper, black olives, mushrooms 🍄and onions. There was a lot of black olives... for our two meals it was 33 dollars.

Have been here multiple times now, and always got the Bayside Deluxe Pizza, which is AWESOME. This time I got the friday Perch Fish Fry with german-style potato salad. FANTASTIC! They also give you baked beans, slaw and rye bread. Everything hit right. Ton of food, but I finished it all!!!! Really nice staff that are right there with a drink when needed. Just love this place! Welcoming atmosphere with a cool vibe.

The food is great and a good value. Our server Rukiy was helpful and attentive. The chicken, bacon, and Swiss sandwich is great and the burgers are good too. Start with a generous portion of cheese curds as an appetizer.

We were looking for something quick but delicious and we happened upon this place and it was so so good! The service was fantastic as was the food and if you sit at one of the window seats, the people watching can't be beat

**Excellent Place to Eat!** This spot has a great atmosphere with nice background music. The staff is incredibly friendly, especially a waiter named Apollo, who everyone calls Apo. He’s a super cool guy! We had a nice conversation about the area, and he even offered us a complimentary drink, which was really kind of him! We ordered the white fish cakes and bratwurst, both of which were delicious! I also tried the local apple cider, a fantastic drink. They have a large selection of beers on tap and cocktails as well. 🍻🍸 I’ll definitely come back and highly recommend visiting this place! **And here’s the best part**: They’re open all week from 11 AM to 2 AM, with food served until 10 PM. ✌️💕❤️

7/24/25. Updated review… Stop with the family for some burgers everyone really enjoyed their burgers. Fries were delicious and hot. I had the salad which was good. The ranch dressing is homemade. Service is pretty good and the food came out quick. We did have to go up to the bar to ask for more water because after food was delivered, our server wasn’t around much. The inside is a cool old bar vibe so it does not match the outside. You would not know going in but it’s a more dark Supper club feel to it. It could be a little cleaner, I felt like our table was sticky but overall wed go there for burgers again. Also if nice outside the seating in the back has water view. I didn’t know about that until after we left otherwise I would’ve sat outside- so we’ll save that for next time. Six years ago: Okay food. We had Friday fish $20 a plate way over priced not really great. Very small side potato salad, if you ordered fries soggyish - fish not really fresh or overdone. Good service and atmosphere was nice bar. Regret this choice for Friday Fishfry but we were from Wisconsin and have high expectations on fish. Especially when it says fresh lake fish! We have been eating here for years and always have a great meal. This year we tried the chili and chili pizza. They were was so good. My son changed the chili pizza a bit. Instead of black olives, onions and green peppers, he had chili and sausage. It was so good. Will be ordering that for sure next time. Would love to be able to buy the chili togo to freeze.

We visited this restaurant about two years ago and had some of the best sweet potato fries we've ever tasted. Naturally, we had to stop by again on this trip. While we were there, the restaurant next door was hosting a fish boil at 5:30 and 7:30 PM, so we grabbed a seat outside to watch--it was a fun little bonus! The staff at the restaurant were friendly, and we were seated right away without any wait. I ordered the mushroom swiss burger with sweet potato fries. The fries had a nice crisp to them, but they weren't hot enough, which was a bit disappointing--it made me wonder if they weren't freshly cooked. If you're in the Fish Creek area, I'd recommend trying this spot and sitting outside to enjoy the lovely view of the bay.

Had a lovely dinner at the very chill and old school Bayside Tavern. I sat at the bar and the staff were extremely attentive. I ordered the Door County Cherry Bomb, which has cherry flavored vodka. It was delish and when in Rome...gotta have everything cherry! I ordered the Rueben with the gluten free bun and upgraded to fries. Everything was delish. My only comment is that the Reuben is served on a paper lined test and I cut up my sandwich which makes it easier to eat but at the same time the paper underneath was getting soggy and ripping and I probably engulfed some paper with my meal. I would prefer a regular plate but I get it's probably easier for the kitchen. Otherwise a great meal and popular spot in Fish Creek.

Not even really sure where to begin. Everything sucked. If the food was fantastic and we were ignored, we'd be okay, however, it wasn't and we were. Everyone was more interested in talking to a guy - I'm assuming he works there but was off duty - instead of customers. Then came the conversation about severed limbs and how Carly "forgot to come to work yesterday" but "got her haircut." The Bayside Coffee staff should give a seminar on customer service to the Bayside Tavern people. The seafood chowder was mid, at best. Not sure why there was corn and red peppers in it and the amount of "seafood" was minimal. Bayside Tavern is lucky they were the only place open for lunch today.

This was our second visit to Bayside Tarvern after having a great first experience in 2023 with their sweet potato fries--they were perfectly crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and served piping hot. We decided to stop by again for a quick bite. This time, I ordered the garden vegetable soup, the mushroom Swiss burger (which comes with sweet potato fries with $5 upcharge), and a couple of drinks. We sat outside again like last time--it wasn't too busy, just a few customers around 5:30 pm on a weekday. There was even a fish boil happening across the street at another restaurant, which made for a lively atmosphere. Fish boil is a traditional in Door County. Our waitstaff, Omer, was friendly but not attentive, he didn't ask how we wanted the burger cooked and refilled water. Thankfully, the burger was juicy but a bit greasy too. Unfortunately, the sweet potato fries weren't the same standout as before. This time, they were lukewarm and lacked that crispy texture we loved on our first visit. Maybe it was just an off day for the kitchen, but the fries were a disappointment compared to our initial experience. A new group of customers were waiting for our table while we were wrapping up the last bite. It appeared that they were told by Omer that we are done. It was strange to have 4 pairs of eyes starring at us and one decided to sit down too. We also had to wait for our check and heard the same group of customers complaining that it took so long. It's funny since we couldn't control that.

We stopped in for dinner after a long ride to DC. We just wanted something casual and not fussy at all. Bayside tavern fit the bill. Busy, but we were seated as soon as we walked in. Dinner was standard pub food, but was great. Service was top notch as well. Would absolutely stop in again the next time we are in Fish Creek. There are also little shop down the alley. They have a cute patio that would be great in summer.

Bayside had great food. Service could use working on. Tables were a little sticky, great place for sport watching. Great location in town lots of walking distance shops.

We ate here with 4 adults, a 2 YO, and infant on a Saturday evening. We were able to seat ourselves for an early dinner (4:30) no problem. The food was good - think pub food. The kids meal was very large, definitely could be an adult sized meal. The music can be a bit mature for children at times but maybe to be expected in a tavern. I'm not sure I would bring my kids back, but definitely could be a place for families with older children or teenagers. The location is great though. Right on the Main Street in Fish Creek. Easily walkable to shops and ice cream.

We sat at the bar for a Sunday lunch and had excellent service. The food was great quality. I had the Cajun tuna steak salad. My friend had the broccoli salad. Both were delicious. They had one tv showing sports. There is a large bar throughout the restaurant.

Absolute first stop upon arriving in Fish Creek, WI. There are always different people behind the bar but they're all the same great friendly people. Very fine Kettle One Martini, 3 olives.

A local tavern offering basic bar food in a loud and fun atmosphere. The wrap-around bar made it easy to find a stool and enjoy one of the many drafts on tap. We ordered the white fish cakes, which were adequate, though I wish I'd chosen the pizza or burger instead. The decor was fun, and the bartender provided excellent service.

This is a great place for very solid bar food. The staff will be open and honest. This is a bar and can sometimes get loud, but the tables on the side, especially in the corner, help a ton.

Bayside Tavern in the heart of Fish Creek in Door County is the perfect place to watch the game, grab a Billy's Bayside Beer and a bowl of savory Cincinnati style chili.

We've been coming here for over 25 years, and keep coming back for the atmosphere, service, and food. On this visit, we bellied up to the bar early afternoon and ordered our drinks and got in our food order. The place was about 2/3 full when we got there, but filled up quickly on a Monday holiday. We had 2 bartenders tht both took great care of us. Our food was hot, tasty, and came out quick, which has been the norm for us. We'll keep coming back every year.

Simply the best chili on the planet - I dream about it more than I should. The chili reminds me of the greatness at Real Chili in Milwaukee. Very comfortable and the staff is relaxed and happy.

My father-in-law has been coming there for 50 years since its inception. He no longer lives in Door County, but the Bayside is his happy place when he comes up. He's been having the same drink every time. He wanted a cherry bomb.. cherry juice and vodka. They always make it in a small rocks glass. It came in a tall glass with other ingredients? He politely asked if this could be made the way that he wanted it. The bartender, who was very young, argued with him about how to make his drink. Long story short, do not argue with a customer about how they want their drink made!

What a great find in Fish Creek! The sandwich was satisfying, and the fries were delectable! The beer was served icy cold...just the way I like it! The ambiance was cozy and inviting! I hope our travels will bring us back here in the future!

while perusing the shops in town we stopped for a late lunch and sat at the bar. Service was excellent and the food was really good. We had a burger and fries, chili and a Reuben with fries. My fries were not hot and I had asked to have hot fries. the waiter put in an order for fresh fries and although I had finished half of my reuben, when the second order came they were worth the wait, hot and crispy. Rueben was excellent, hot, tender meat, and toasted bread. Others liked the chili and hamburger. It is a bar atmosphere but ample seating, with some outdoor seating. A full bar and a varied bar food menu. There is street parking and it can be crowded. cool place to grab a sandwich and or a drink and take a break from the crowds on the street and shopping. I would recommend.

This is one of my favorite places in Fish Creek. The food and service is always good! This is also a great place to watch Packer games!

Stopped in for dinner. The place was pretty crowded. My wife ordered the brat and I ordered the cheeseburger. She liked her brat. I have to say my cheeseburger was very good. The meat had a great consistency. No chunks you'd find in cheaper ground beef. Of course, we shared an order of cheese curds!

By the time we arrived in Door County & got settled into our accommodations, it was getting kind of late. There weren't a lot of options for a bite to eat later on a Sunday night. So we decided to stop in here. Hubs had eaten here before but this was my first visit. The place was lively and there were a lot of patrons, but we were able to find a table without a wait. Our server was super nice and helpful. I just got a salad with grilled chicken, which was fine but nothing special. The salad dressing was a packet of Ken's, which is fine if you aren't making house-made dressing . Hubs had a burger & fries and was happy with his meal. Overall, a nice tavern with a good vibe. I would definitely go back.

Hadn't been back since they did some renovations. The Reuben is just how I remembered it, fantastic. No fuss, no muss. Good Bloody Mary and great service.

My family has spent more than 45 summers at The Bayside. We remember the days when nobody thought twice about keeping Horsey Sauce on the table all day long. To some, it's just a sandwich, but to me, the original HTMJ was everything. To say I have been devastated by its replacement the last couple of summers is an understatement. It does not work and does not even make sense. Bring back shaved regular turkey & shredded iceberg lettuce PLEASE!!! 5 stars for Billy's Bayside Brew and 0 stars for the smoked TMJ imposter.

NOT the Bayside I grew up loving. I remember a few years ago grabbing beer after beer and a cup of chilli after chilli and making a day out of it. Recently came on a Monday and ordered a cup of chilli. We received our drinks quick enough, but after 10 minutes of not receiving rhe chilli we ordered, we asked our server what was up, she said she was waiting on the kitchen... 20 minutes later, waiting on the kitchen... 40 minutes later, waiting on the kitchen... 60 minutes later, still waiting on the kitchen. We politely said forget it... Will not be back!

Great food. Ok service. Horrible music. It felt like the folks there wanted folks to leave. We did.

We stopped here for lunch while out shopping. You pick where you sit and many tables were empty to choose from. It got busier as the lunch hour went on and filled up quick. Our server was pretty nice but could tell was annoyed with someone or something. Overall, the food was decent.

This classic Main street Fish Creek bar has delicious food and drinks and a great ambience for conversation and game watching. We go the Chilli and chicken tenders with old fashioneds and Door county cherry bombs and it was perfect combo for game watching. Definitely recommend this place to be included in your fish creek outings.

I've been visiting Door County for 65 years, OK I was six months old on my first visit. For about the last 40 years we make sure we visit the Bayside for lunch or dinner. Food and service are always excellent.

This place has amazing food! The chili is fantastic and so are the burgers! Service is always spot on too!

We've been going to Bayside for 25 years. Mostly good times, always good service and always slightly above average food. We do love the pizza and beer selections in particular. The prices are always a little stiff but we're willing to pay them because the vibe makes it worth it. However, today we ordered a side of fried green beans. To be fair, we didn't ask for the price assuming they'd be equivalent to other deep fried sides. NO! They were $10.95!!! for a basket of over-fried pellets. Yes, we should've asked. No we didn't. But we felt taken for a ride. Duped. It was a shameless price point. As an added disappointment we split a sandwich advertised as a turkey club with pesto. No sign of pesto - for over 12 bucks. It'll be a long time before we forget this. The moral of the story? Ask a lot of questions and ascertain what you're willing to pay BEFORE you order.

Very busy but service was excellent. Our waitress was working her buns off. My friend had a Rueben which he said was excellent & I had a small pizza which was awesome. Very very good. Not a lot of ambiance but it's a "tavern". Definetely worth the stop.

Love, love, loved the chili! I know that everyone has a favorite... but this is mine! I like the meaty chili with spaghetti noodles. And not too spicy. My burger was also pretty good and my wife's club sandwich was average. The place was packed (by Covid standards... every other table was open). Yet once we ordered, our food cane out pretty quick. Need to make it back for some more Chili...

Service was excellent, and the food was great. We all enjoyed our meals. The kids menu was just right in terms of choices, and our kids really liked their dinner. The atmosphere was just right, and it was fun watching the Olympics. We will be back!

This place succeeded our expectations. I was expecting basic bar food, but got whitefish cakes that were very good. My wife got a great broccoli salad that she shared with me. I would definitely go back there again if I visit Fish Creek in the future.

We were super disappointed to discover that Bayside doesn't offer Mezcal at the bar. Mind-boggling! It wasn't like we were asking for Hesperidina, Becherovka, or some other obscure liqueur. Just a simple Mezcal Margarita.

A quintessential Wisconsin bar the offers a large array of bar foods. We found the service very good and the food was flavorful and satisfying. We will visit this bar again on a future trip to Door County.

Came here for a few drinks while watching a Bucks/Badgers game in the afternoon. The bartenders were very nice and it was a great atmosphere to catch a game. Nice looking merch, too.

Notoriously slow service with bathrooms that are dirty. Not even a good dive bar. This isn't a one and done review, unfortunately. I've given it several attempts. Avoid at all costs.

Bayside is right in Fish Creek and has been around for over 100 years! I loved this place because it had a great bar and it was busy on Sunday in the middle of the afternoon - that is always a good sign in my book. I had a bowl of the famous chili (cincy style) and it was so excellent. I would definitely go back for just the beer and chili.

We just happened to stop by Bayside on our road trip and boy were we not disappointed! We were greeted with friendly faces like Ana's. She took such great care of me and my stir crazy kiddos, if I am ever in Wisconsin again I will be stopping by again not only for the food but to see Ana again!

Before our food arrived, most tables were now open. We had the burger, which was underwhelming in size and flavor. The french fries and onion rings were bland. After finishing, we again had to flag someone down to get our check. By the time we left, there were maybe ten people. Overall our experience was like the food. Bland.
