Bayt Sharq

You know that feeling when you discover a place and wonder, how is this still a secret? That’s exactly what Bayt Sharq feels like. Set inside a historic Qatari home that’s over a century old, this hidden gem blends culture, history, and incredible food in the most beautiful way. There’s even a small museum inside, so while you dine, you’re also learning about Qatar’s past. The atmosphere is calm, welcoming, and family-friendly, making it perfect for everyone from kids to grandparents. If you want to experience Qatar beyond malls and modern cafés, this place is an absolute must.

We ordered everything from our server (whose name starting with K I’m ashamed to say I forgot). This was partly because we had no data on our phones to order from the code and mainly because we had no idea on traditional Qatari food. It was all delicious and beautifully presented so a great dining experience. Some might not like to sit in their own cabin as we did but it added to the experience. Reasonable prices. It’s a little way out of the old town but it’s okay to walk there, even at night

Bait Al Sharq is an incredible place. We had an awesome time and visited several times during both breakfast and dinner. The surroundings are absolutely beautiful — the gardens, the traditional architecture, and the small museum all add so much character and make the experience feel truly special. The food 🥘 was consistently excellent, full of flavour and beautifully presented, and the staff were outstanding: welcoming, attentive, and genuinely warm every time we visited. It’s one of those places where you feel relaxed and well looked after from the moment you arrive. Amazing breakfast and a beautifully authentic atmosphere. Truly a hidden gem. Every item on the breakfast table was delicious, fresh, and full of flavor. The staff were knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. They knew the menu well and guided us with a smile. Special thanks to Shahin for the excellent service and for answering all our questions with such sincerity. We’ll definitely be back.

I recently had breakfast at this restaurant and absolutely loved it. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the staff greeted us with genuine hospitality and made sure everything was just right throughout our meal. The food was delicious — freshly made and full of authentic flavors and the karak tea was rich and aromatic, just the way it should be. It’s the kind of spot that makes you want to linger and enjoy your morning slowly. I’ll definitely be coming back soon!

The food was exquisite that we visited again during our stay in Doha. Such amazing scenery, authentic Qatari culture and setting. Lovely food, atmosphere and the cute kittens 😃 Out Waiter Shebir was so attentive and also suggested the top seller dishes. Great service, highly recommend 👍

Family brunch here was lovely. The breakfast platter was delicious with a huge variety of Qatari delights. The tea was fantastic. The outdoor dining area was very peaceful (except the flies) and there is also an indoor area. Staff accommodated for kids and were polite and friendly. Just a side note, they don’t refill the teas with the breakfast platter.

Absolutely no problem recommending Bayt Sharq. I got there by metro to Museum stop, then walked 7mins (it was January, beautiful weather). I really had to put my faith in google maps though, as you wouldn't know from the outside that the restaurant in there, with the walled garden sitting within a larger park garden. Authentic Qatari dishes at reasonable prices. Pomegranate juice delicious. There is both indoor and outdoor seating to cater for guests all year around.
