⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I recently had the pleasure of dining at BBG's Bar and Grill in downtown Austin, and I can't say enough wonderful things about my experience—thanks in large part to Sophie! From the moment we walked in, she greeted us with a warm smile and made us feel right at home. Sophie was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and offered fantastic recommendations. I tried the BBQ brisket tacos, and they were nothing short of amazing! She even suggested the perfect drink to complement my meal, and it was spot on. Her passion for the food and drinks really shone through, making our dining experience all the more enjoyable. What truly stood out was Sophie's attentiveness. She checked in on us just the right amount, ensuring we had everything we needed without being intrusive. Her friendly demeanor and genuine care for her customers made our night unforgettable. If you're looking for a great meal and even better service in downtown Austin, make sure to visit BBG's and ask for Sophia! Best place for watching football in downtown Austin! The beers were ice cold and there's lots of games on. The Baja burrito, fish tacos, and fried pickles were very good. Our servers were awesome and we had great conversations with them and some of the patrons. We actually went back here later the same day for last call. There wings are very good too. Definitely a place to go while in Austin! Overall I'd give them a 4.7 out of 5 stars.

Great meal and menu! We were looking for something more on the light side and we're pleased with this. It was not crowded and our food came fast and was delicious. I highly recommend the Mac and Cheese Egg Rolls! Our server was great.

We had the best time on our girls’ trip, and Lindsey, our bartender, played a huge part in that! She was not only talented at mixing drinks but also brought so much fun and energy to our night. Lindsey made us feel like VIPs with her amazing service and great sense of humor. If you’re looking for someone who knows how to keep the party going, Lindsey is your girl! Went in for some wings, light dinner, and drinks before going to the mothership. We chose BBG because of the awesome reviews. When we walked in nobody said word to us. We went and sat down near the bar and waited.. several people passed by us and no one said word to us. After about 10-15 minutes we got up and walked out. I could understand if they were busy… but this was probably at 5:30 PM… there were hardly any people in there at this point.

It’s rare that I leave reviews, but when I do it’s because I had exceptional service.. and I feel like Lindsey, my bartender for the night deserves all the recognition. She was fast, made amazing drinks, and was great at conversation. 10/10 service and experience!

What a cool bar! I typically don’t go to sports bars but the staff & company are so awesome here. Serena, the bartender, makes amazing margaritas. Def order from her.

Came by to BBG's for the NFL championship games, and this place was one of the best sports bars I've been to. They have TVs literally covering every wall in the restaurant. Also the staff is very friendly and always check up on you to make sure you have everything. The prices were very reasonable especially for the quality of the drinks and food. Highly recommend stopping by BBGs for any sports games.

Beer, Burgers, and Games. The name says it all. Great place to watch the games. Delicious steakhouse burger. Loved the loaded tots. Definitely recommend.

Well, tried to sit at the bar during a football game, and the bar keeper kept ignoring our side of the bar... So we decided to sit at one of the tables and we were promptly taken care of The food was ok But the atmosphere was good for the game Plenty of screens to watch No matter where you sit, there is a view of the game. Really appreciate that Would I go there for the food, of course not but I definitely would be happy to visit for a game or a place to enjoy a beer withe friends, but NOT at the bar... They don't like the ends of the bar for some reason

The burger horrible nachos too now the worst part is the service. What a lady I went at 3 pm on June 30. Terrible terrible terrible service.

I had wings here and they were delicious. The service was great and we wanted to watch the football game on a closer tv and they changed the channel for us. I will be coming here again.

BBG's is one of the few sports bars on dirty sixth. It is a great atmosphere and you will be surrounded by TVs. They have your typical sports bar menu items. I tried the nachos and wings. They have several different flavors of wings I highly enjoyed those. The nachos were ok and was a little disappointed on. Also felt the service we got was subpar and they were a little slow to get our items out to us.

We decided on one more treat before the show so we hit 6th street and browed the menu on the outside of some of the bars and it Landed us at BBG. Service was good and the beer was flat. We were drawn in by the Mac and Cheese Egg Rolls/Cheese burger filled. They were pretty tasty and the Chipotle Aioli was a good match. As for the beer I would probably stick to bottled if they had it.

Came here as our last stop during a walk of the area. It was quiet as opposed to a lot of the bars and the place was clean. Ordered a chicken quesadilla which was big! It wasn't half bad either, but not exactly something to brag about. Staff was decent. Would go back again.

I was with a group of people for some Sunday football. LOVE that they had just about every single game on throughout the bar. Service was pretty good considering how busy they get. However, I was not a big fan of the food. The tots were a little on the salty side. The mac n cheese eggrolls was lacking any cheese flavor. The menu says that it's bacon cheeseburger filled, however, there was more mac then the bacon cheeseburger. I did enjoy the wings! The sweet hell wings were a hit.

Steakhouse burger (without bacon) was juicy and delicious! Pairs well with fries and will fill you up! Love the large portion. Atmosphere is great for watching sports and football, I was surrounded by TVs! Dry rub lemon pepper wings were excellent!

Walked in with 4 people and as more of my friends walked in as the night went on our party got bigger but I was on my own tab with 3 other friends. They tried to charge me a large party gratuity because I was with a group and not based off of who I was paying for (their large party gratuity is for 6 or more people) the bartender with long hair and the tattoo on her arm was very rude when I came up confused and asked why I was being charged the gratuity. she said that's just how it is downtown when I am an austin native so i've never heard of this and only at high end restaurants have I ever seen that type of gratuity downtown.

Ok so I got recommended to try BBG's "best burger bar in Austin". First we ordered their 5 wings for $5 special and they were great, so I ordered the 3AM burger with extra patty. Less then half way through eating the burger I almost cracked my tooth on this "nut", and I was just at the dentist this week. The waiter was great, the manager was somewhat dismissive, but the meal was compensated. I didn't put the whole interaction. Let me know if y'all want me too.

Impressed with the effort the staff has made to put on a baseball game for us the last 2 nights! Service is friendly, environment is chill. Would strongly recommend when traveling and wanting to watch your local sports team!

Stopped in here for a Christmas bar crawl. It was packed due to the amount of tv's in the bar and sporting events going on. Even so service was quick all staff was friendly and we stayed at least a round. Their sister bar next door Happy Chicks is co owned and is a little quieter if the bustling bar isn't your thing.

The wings are big, flavor was ok. We got the lemon pepper and Buffalo. But their tots. Nice and salty ans crispy!

Sat at the bar waiting to order a drink for a solid 10 minutes and was not acknowledged at all. It was 2pm, the bar was dead and not a single employee said a word to us.

Had lunch here while in town for a conference. It's one of the "cleaner" bars on 6th Street and Actually serves food too. Probably a great place to stay cool, have a few drinks and watch a game on one of their 20 something TVs that are mounted all around the restaurant not just at the bar. No problems with service here, bartender and the hostess were friendly and attentive. I ordered a Burger with tots, honestly when it came out I was not that impressed and not expecting much but it turned out to be a really good burger. It was moist without being greasy and the bun held up to the burger. Tots, can't go wrong with them, were also cooked to a crispy golden brown.

In finding a place to escape the heat on 6th Street and enjoy a cold drink, I guided my wife into BBG's. It looked like a sports bar and not too rough for her. We anchored ourselves at the end of the bar and menus were handed to us. This was a surprise where all the bars I hung out were drinks only. The menu has some decent items in it but we were not hungry and ordered a mixed drink. However my wife had other plans where she ordered Sweet Potato Fries. This place had numerous TVs showings sports and the nice bartenders made sure were happy. The sweet potato fries arrived and were cut thick nicely seasoned. It tasted great and perfect choice for our mid day appetizer. This was a cool bar where the atmosphere is great and appeals to those who enjoy the sports bar experience. Some bars look too scary to enter but not this one.

Wings were good. wrap was ok. Bartender was fantastic. Plenty of tvs to watch sports. Decent spot overall

What a place! Walked in excited to watch some football, get a drink and some grub! Little did we all know we walked into the worst establishment I've ever went into. I don't wanna make this long but I will...we got our drinks ordered...20 minutes went bye and we still hadn't gotten our order taken. I had to walk over to ask the waiter to come take our order. Another 20 minutes went bye, no check up or refills of our drinks. You look over...the bartender was sucking a lollipop wondering who she be trying to take home. The waiter was flirting hard hoping it was him. The second waiter was standing there talking wondering when he was going to catch the next wave, and I say this..but the "manager" was standing there chatting with them and then continued to FaceTime his BFF. Still no drink, no food...there was 6 of us at a table. I requested for the manager...he walks over and I pursued a nice route...he literally listened and said who's your waiter which we told him, and then just walked away. Didn't take accountability for the bad service, but at the same time our food finally showed up after 65 minutes...also know we were the first table to order food.."bar food" and we made the comment we wanted our checks before the food had even touched the table. Then the manager comes out and says y'all ordered the food and have to pay and quote...said "that's wild". Then continued to not take accountability and called my wife "mean" because we were showing frustration! He then sucked his teeth as we said well I guess you need to get the cops involved because we're not paying. He pursued that route and immediately came back and said look guys we don't want to get the cops involved. Fun facts, if you're looking for a good drink, food and some sports...this ain't the place. They'd be lucky to ever get service from anyone I know. Bunch of fucking bums, honestly!

Worst service we've ever received. Left after an hour of no food, no refills, no checking on. Paid for our initial drinks and appetisers, "manager" thought it was "wild" we wanted to leave. Tried to get the cops involved till he realised he was wrong.

So this review is more about the potential of the place than its current iteration. So apparently this bar is only a few months old. I arrived on a Tuesday afternoon to kill some time before I could check in to my Airbnb. This bar is connected to an adjacent bar/restaurant which is kinda interesting. There is a ton of TVs here so it seems quite perfect for sports game. Add to the fact that you can get a nice breeze inside by opening the windows and by having high ceilings and that's even better. Happy Hour starts at 3pm which is pretty awesome. The pricing is quite solid, at least from my perspective. 1/2 off beers in HHs is awesome. At the moment, the bar isn't as fully stocked as it should be. There are no taps, which normally would bring it a few notches down from other nearby spots. There should also be a proper setup for cans/bottles of beer as well as the hard liquor. However, I give it 4 stars because it seems as if changes are coming soon. Also, the bartender (Claudia?) was pretty nice and was great at offering suggestions for local beers as well as some sightseeing tips (This was my first time in Austin). I don't know when I'll be back, but I'm assuming this bar will be great by then. It would have been sick to just tear down the wall behind the bar to create a huge wrap-around bar between both establishments, but don't think that's possible.

Less than mediocre food but is convenient if you're in a pinch. The create you own burger is an always welcome menu item for picky diners. Unfortunately the meat lacked pizzaz. The bun was my favorite part of the sandwich, very soft and buttery. Hub loved the lemon pepper dry rub tenders but didn't like the mango jalapeno...said it tasted like sweet tomato juice. I liked that this restaurant wasn't as loud as others in the vacinity.

Staff is nice but my ubereats app said the order was ready and when I can to pick it up, the order wasn't ready until about 45 minutes AFTER the app said it was ready for pickup. Pretty frustrating.

Great place to watch football and snack on some bar food. Everything comes in large portions. The cocktails are great.

Waited over an hour to het service while others were being served food that walked in after us. Never asked if we wanted a second drink. They don't serve white claw type products. Like everywhere else obviously under staffed and what staff they do have is not trained well. Didn't complain to our waitress. Not her fault.

In Austin for a conference and stumbled into BBG's for a place to watch Sunday night football with a coworker. Tables were full but bar was not. I've never had such attentive service from a bartender who also had to make drinks for 10+ tables. I believe the bartender was Brooke and the manager may have been either Tisha or Tasha. Regardless this has been far better than other places on 6th street!

They had 5 for $5 wings and they do not tell you the second order of wings you get will be regular price until it is time to pay. So instead of paying the menu price of 13.99 for some wings we ended up paying 15. The service was okay the server was friendly but I think it was a miscommunication with the kitchen because we ordered the sweet hell wings but were brought out bbq despite us saying nobody at the table ordered bbq. The cherry on top was the wings just were not good in general. The lemon pepper had no seasoning at all. Respectfully yall can do better. The bar ambiance was cool might be a good spot to get drinks only but do not get wings from here !

We got here late as we were traveling and staying near 6th street. The service was good. The drinks were good. The food was standard bar food. I will say I did love how fast the food came out bc we were definitely starving after a day of traveling. Nothing mind blowing for flavor or anything but in a pinch we would definitely eat there again.

Lately all I want to do is eat tater tots and sleep. Fortunately I just got a new bike to counter that... or enable that? It's now easier for me to explore even farther around my new neighborhood and when I saw BBG's has loaded tots, I added them to my list. Tonight, I headed out on my bike, intending to go somewhere else for dinner. However BBG's was on my way and I peeked in. Easy to do because it has an inviting, open layout, right off of the sidewalks of 6th st. Their speakers were playing 2000s alt rock, and that sold me. For being a sports bar, it was calm and nobody appeared to be paying any attention to the many muted TVs showing various sports. It seemed like the few of us here just wanted to get out of the house on a Monday evening like me. Fortunately I found a comfortable padded seat where I'd be able to properly unwind and savor my food. For being on "Dirty Sixth" it was far from dirty. It seems like it was remodeled within the past decade, or at least has been well-maintained. It's like they found a way to keep all the good aspects of a dive bar and none of the diveyness. The server took my order promptly. As planned, I got the loaded tots. I also got garlic parm wings as a whim, since they were offering a 5 for $5 deal. The tots were generous, both because it was a big base layer of tots, then topped with more than enough queso, melted cheese, bacon and scallions. These are a winner and I'll be back for them! The wings weren't such a hit. They were hard and the sauce was unappetizing. When I said so, the server offered to take them off my order. Definitely the right move! This was a good place to come to indulge in some junk food and take in a bit of 6th st. activity. I saw a few other people ordering the tots too, so you know they're a a popular item. Now it's time to bike home and promptly fall into a food coma and probably do the same kind of thing all over again tomorrow.

Food is horribly painfully bland with minimal selection. Baja burrito is just a crispy chicken wrap with a piece of avocado. Fries were okay. Max n cheese was okay too. But there's nothing exciting about this place. Oh and the only hot sauce they have is Tabasco or buffalo. Automatically looses a lot of credibility in my eyes

Been here many times before, sure miss them lamb lollipops though, a lot has changed since Covid, but it's still a really nice place to go when you're downtown. It's always our go to and we always stop in when we're in the area.

I work as a Canvasser and stopped here for lunch for the first time ever. Let me tell you, they have some of, if not the best wings I've ever had in my life. They don't skimp on the sauce either. The Butter Parm wings are are so good you'll want to lick the dang plate. Hands down will give them my money every chance I get!

Got them for lunch drop - food was cold , fries soggy and the burrito was soggy including the breaded chicken inside . Waste of money.

This place is woefully below average. Just an incredibly sub par execution of a American fare gastro pub. If you live for experiences that leave you incredibly underwhelmed, this is your spot.

Awesome sports bar! Highly recommend the boneless wings. Can't go wrong with any of their sauces but teriyaki and BBQ were amazing! Also was hungover and their Coca Cola might've saved my life! Best Coca Cola I've ever had!

The only review I can give is on the service. My cousin and I arrived there, hardly any customers at the tables, and we waited a long time to even be acknowledged by SOMEBODY working there. After waiting some more, with the bartender seeing us waiting, not letting the server know, who was also sitting at the bar, my cousin and I walked out.

Arrived at 315pm on Sunday. After the first set of NFL games were done. Sat at a dirty table for 15 min, no server ever passed by so I went to the bar to order a drink. At the now 23 min mark the bartender asked me if I was at a table. I said yes but no one has been by. She said you'll have to orser from your server. I asked Who is my Server then? I'd like to get a drink. She said I dont know. Ugh. So i sit for another 15 min and finally go to the server station at the end of the bar. A girl says ill be right there.....10 min later nodda. I go find her and asked for a beer and a coke for my wife. 17 min later no drinks. But same server has now brought 3 full trays of drinks, food, waters to a table 8ft away. Never even looked over at us. So i follower her to the server station and ask how much longer for that beer? Oh we're really busy....um ok but its been an hour and I just would like a beer.......we went back to the table. Waited another 8 minutes. Bartender still hasnt poured one drink behind the bar. We just walked out. Look I've worked in restaurants, I get it. You got slammed earlier and everyone is playing catch up. But jeezus a beer and a coke isnt that tough to accomplish. Hell walk behind the bar and pour it yourself. 2 min and you're on your way to a happy insanely an overtipping customer. But here I am a few doors down at Eureka watching the football game, getting outstanding service, and had food in under 15 minutes. F all of your rude employees. I've never been so disrespected as a customer.

This was an unexpected visit because during Covid dining in has NOT been a part of my plans. I'm so glad it was a pleasant experience. The server did a great job even though it seemed he was alone. We were a group of 7 and he handled everyrhing well. Hand sanitizer, social distancing and masks were present. Food was good. Would return again.

Atmosphere was decent, TVs were great but service sucked. We had 4 in our party and we all left disappointed. The ceiling Fans were cranked on high, cooling any food we ordered within 5 minutes. Cheeseburger sliders were not cooked all the way, 2 of the four orders were wrong and 1 of four orders came to the table 17 minutes late. We had 2 draft bears, 2 margaritas and 2 cocktails and payed $158. Would not recommend if looking for good food or exceptional service.

We came in yesterday after leaving Eureka next door because the drinks were really awful. Laura was sweet angel and made us the best drinks! She was quick and was super friendly. We moved tables and had another server and she was super sweet too! They were following COVID distancing and mask guidelines and the bar was really clean. Great atmosphere and great service! They also brought us a round of shots on the house. Will definitely be back!

Service wasn't the best, but it's July 2021 and I think they have a shortage of workers, but the service can be improved. I ordered the 3am burger and the burger had too much bread for my liking and it tasted "off", I tasted everything on my burger individually and determined it was the beef patty. I'm not sure if it's the seasoning or if the beef was bad, but it didn't taste like any beef I've ever had so I just ate the bacon, egg and cheese from the burger and my tater tots. Luckily I wasn't that hungry or I would have said something....my buddy got the same thing and he ate it all so maybe it's an isolated incident.

Don't come here. Not worth your time. Friends and I are visiting from California and since they couldn't recognize our ID's they didn't serve us alcohol. We came back another day and they yelled at everyone waiting saying they didn't have room. Not the southern courtesy we came here for.

0 stars. I came to visit Austin from California and i was so exited to eat some wings on my first day here. The waiter and the manager did not know what a California ID looked like so we were turned away and accused us of having fakes. She was not willing to google what they looked like. When we came again the next day, not looking to have a drink, they turned us away very rudely, and said they had no seating (the restaurant was empty). I'm not sure what's going on here. Maybe it's bad management, maybe not enough employees? Either way they need to figure it out.

BEST drinks downtown hands down. Matt at the bar was super friendly and made us some delicious shots and mixed drinks. Food is also excellent, 10/10 recommend the mac and cheese egg rolls and Jell-O shots!! Great service, great drinks and amazing service. Absolutely worth a visit if you're in Austin.

Best wings I've had in a long while! Put in an order for my work crew on FAVOR. Was a bit leery about it because of some of the reviews on here but glad I did. Two of us got wings and loved them. Great flavor and well cooked crispy. The other two had a burger and claimed each to be one of the best burgers they've had. My only negative was the sweet potato fries weren't cooked all the way through on some of them but the done ones were tasty and would have been amazing had we gotten them fresh dining in the actual restaurant. This will become a "go to" place for our work crew.
