Google
I love this place! And the Staff is amazing! If you're really hungry & you want your chicken now...go someplace else because this chicken is cooked to order alongside take-out orders. If you're willing to wait 20+ minutes, you will not be disappointed! The honey garlic is my FAVORITE! I've tried other flavors including the original & they are yummy. But BAYBEEEEEE! That Honey Garlique!!! Chef's Kiss!!!👩‍🍳💋 I had one mixed drink/cocktail here & it was sweet and delicious too. However, if you're trying to get a buzz, this is not the place for that. I recommend this establishment to everyone I know. 10 out of 10! Tell 'em Sunday with the Rainbow glasses sent you!🖖🏽

Google
The food at BBQ Chicken Beaverton was absolutely delicious. Its crispy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. However, the service left much to be desired. While the taste made it worth the visit, a friendlier and more attentive staff would really elevate the experience. We were never asked if the food tasted okay, if we would like to order anything else, or if we needed a refill for drinks... Next time we will probably just pick it up and take To-Go.

Excellent fried chicken—everything was freshly made, which made a noticeable difference, even after indulging in so much fried food. We had the spicy gumbo wings and Gangnam-style boneless chicken, both flavorful and well-cooked. The chicken fried rice was also solid. The cabbage salad missed the mark, but the fries were crispy and satisfying. We tried the Mango Tango slushy and Strawberry Lychee soju slush—both were refreshing on a hot day. The staff quoted a 20-minute wait for the chicken, and they delivered right on time. Clean, peaceful spot. We’d definitely return.

Absolutely delicious. It’s crispy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Great service. I like how they have gloves 🧤 for customer because i don’t want my hands to get smell afterwards event watching hands many times but still can smell it!!! I also ordered Strawberry 🍓 Leeches slush but can’t taste any leeches at all and not sure why they put lemonade on top of my drink lol 😂 Highly recommend this place to install baby diaper change station. I need to change my kid diaper on floor :(

Google
WOW! Found a go to spot for Korean fried chicken in Beaverton! These wings are huge and super flavorful! You would think 8 pc wouldn't be enough but it is plenty, even to share with a friend/partner. Just make sure not to go for dinner on the weekend. Lunch time or anytime on the weekday works best when there's no wait. Highly recommend this spot! 🔥

Google
I had high expectations for this place. It was rather disappointing. We waited almost a half hour for our food. I had heard it would be a wait, but the food came out a little cold. Our server was great, she was friendly and came to check on us a few times.

Google
It's our 2nd time here and everything was great. I would say this time we had a slightly better experience than last time, maybe due to the chicken flavors we picked suited our tastes better. Highly recommend the cheesling and secret sauce. My Korean boo approves 😋

Michelle Kwak

Google
tried the Original, Honey Garlic, Cheesling, and Secret Sauce, and the Cheesling was the standout—a pleasant and unexpected surprise! The Secret Sauce tasted the closest to the classic 양념치킨 from Korea, which was incredibly flavorful. I’m so happy I can enjoy it whenever I want now! The Golden Crispy has a great texture, and I like that it has crunch bites! The owner is warm and welcoming, and the service is fantastic—super friendly and makes the wait feel effortless. On top of all that, the value for the price is amazing. I’ll definitely be back!

Yelp
Golden is delicious. Special sauce is delicious. The dukboki is wonderful. Avoid soy garlic and a cheese something fries

Yelp
We got the soy garlic and regular and another flavor. I think the fact that I cannot remember the other flavor means that we weren't as impressed as we initially thought we would be. The plus side is that the wings are massive! They're super filling so don't be surprised if you have left overs. The down side was that the menu wasn't very clear on how you can and cannot mix and match the flavors. Our waitress wasn't very clear either. They weren't very busy but the service was definitely lacking. Also, the wings were super crunchy, almost too crunchy for my preference. I'd like to try the galbi flavor next time but not sure that I'd find myself going out of my way to try it.

Yelp
sooo many variety of dishes, flavors for the wings, and drinks!! great place to go out to eat and hang out with friends!! the service provided was super nice and fast :)

Yelp
There are chicken wings, and then there are chicken wings from bb.q Chicken! I got the hot spicy because that's how I roll. It takes about 20 minutes for your order to arrive. I don't know exactly what they do during those 20 minutes, but I do know that what ends up on your plate is close to perfection. It wasn't extremely hot like some other places might make it. It had heat with a touch of sweetness, just how I like it. The texture was perfect. The outside was crispy. The moment you take a bite, you get the crispiness, but you also get the soft chicken meat underneath, which is equally delicious. The Rosé Ddeok-Bokki was quite good; the flavor was excellent. The rice cakes themselves were spot on, so chewy and satisfying The wait time, as I mentioned, was about 20 minutes, but everything tasted so good, and the service was excellent.

Yelp
We went twice in three days because the food is 5 stars! After avoiding it for the first couple of months due to the long wait times, we were finally able to just walk in. Pro tip they have reservations on their website. Ok. The service was hit and miss, I ordered a slush that never came, cheese was added to our rice without asking and we didn't get water refilled for the whole meal. The food is on the expensive side and the smallest order is 8 wings. I wish it was 4 or 5 as I'd like to try more sauces. Ok. The food... oh my goodness, they're the largest and best wings of any Korean place we've been to in Portland! The boneless are pieces of thigh meat and the bone in wings are huge pieces! There is a crispy exterior and lots of sauce on each piece. Favorite sauces are the secret (tangy and mild spice) sauce, spicy galbi (Smoky, tangy and not too spicy), Hot Mala (really spicy with China Chinese 5 spice flavor) and the Gangnam (peppery and mild spice). The cheesing was like Kraft mac n cheese power all over it. It's a little weird but yummy. Thought the fried dumplings were plain and not great. The Kimchee and the chicken fried rice is spicy and amazing! Add the cheese and it's even better. Oh and ask for the free pickled radish! It's amazing!

Yelp
The spicy original wings are so good. They're nice and crispy yet really juicy and flavorful. I've tried a few of their other sauce flavors and wish they offered more sauces on the side so the chicken would stay crispy longer. I found their "secret" sauce to be too sweet for my taste. It's nice that you can make reservations or get on the waitlist via Yelp now too.

Yelp
Great first experience! We went on a friday night and it was a little slower than we thought it'd be. Our server was amazing and really friendly. We ordered a few items to try and I enjoyed their saucy wings and the spicy rice cakes! Everything came out super hot and the fries were so crispy! My favorite flavor was the spicy galbi on the wings. That being said, I would definitely come back with friends in the future!
google avatar

Yelp
This chicken was the best food I've had in a long time! That fresh crisp on the outside with the tender meat on the inside was perfection. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. I loved the Mala Tteokbokki the spice was perfect for me, but beware if you're sensitive to spicy foods it will probably be too hot! Hot tip: order the Mala Tteokbokki and Cheesling wings,,,dip your wings into the Tteokbokki sauce. It is SO good. The service was very efficient and attentive. Ambiance is great, open seating area with space for a lot of guests along with some K-pop jams playing. You can't go wrong with choosing this restaurant.

Yelp
We came on a Friday during lunch time close to noon and only a few tables were occupied, but it quickly filled up soon after. I know this location just opened so I wanted to take that into consideration. You wait to be seated right when you walk in and there is a little waiting area (which I can imagine being full during peak times and weekends.) They also had two self-serving kiosks at the entrance for to-go orders. The space is open but the space feels weirdly organized with three separate "pockets" of seating arrangements. There was a side area that looked like it would be good for big groups. We waited just a few short minutes to be seated but overall the service was friendly and I could tell they were trying their best to keep up. I was disappointed that they didn't have the chicken sandwiches available when we went but I was also happy with my backup order. Hubby and I both got the six piece regular wings lunch special - it came with fries and a drink for $17. He got the Hot and Spicy and I got the Soy Garlic flavor. I upgraded my side to cheese sticks for $1 extra which was totally worth it but next time I want to try the onion rings or sweet potato fries. We also got the Rose Dohboki. OK the wings were HUGE and extra crispy! I appreciated that the wings were not overly sauced but just the right amount to still get the maximum flavor. A little went a long way especially for the spicy one! The fries and cheese sticks were hot and fresh and I know it's silly but I was also looking forward to the refreshing pickled radish that always accompany Korean fried chicken. It was a great sweet and sour break in between bites of juicy chicken. The sauce for the Rose Dohboki was heavenly! So creamy with just a little bit of spice peaking through. The wings were so big I didn't even finish mine and had to take it home! Overall I think lunch specials are the way to go for us and hopefully next time we will be able to try to the chicken sandwiches and some more wing flavors! Yum!

Yelp
I decided to give this spot another try now that it's been open for a while and has hopefully settled down. I went for a weekday lunch--still busy, but no wait and far less chaotic than my first dinner visit. This time, I tried the fried dumplings. They were good, but not particularly memorable--I'd rather save room for other dishes, like the kimchi fried rice, which was somehow even better than before. I also went for the soy garlic and spicy galbi wings, and they did not disappoint. Both were absolutely delicious and even crispier than expected. I will be definitely be back for more of these amazing wings and kimchi fried rice.

Yelp
First time trying this Korean fried chicken chain and I was very pleased! I had seen below average reviews for other locations but perhaps this may be franchise dependent. Since we went right around their grand opening week, we waited about 40 minutes for our table and another 30 for the food after we ordered. Of the dishes we tried, I really enjoyed the Rosé Pasta. The sauce is a great combination of gochujang and cream. I do think the price is a bit steep for what you get ($16 for just noodles and sauce) so I probably won't order it often. As for the chicken flavors, my favorites are the Spicy Original, The Secret Sauce, and Spicy Galbi. They have so many more flavors to try in varying spice levels so there's bound to be one that suits your liking.

Yelp
Fresh wings and though it took a while it's worth the wait. Would've been nice if the basket used for holding sauced wings are thicker quality because we ended up eating through the basket when the sauce soaked through Recommend using gloves to avoid getting messy and got to say it's juicy and packed with flavor. Can't go wrong with the traditional original Korean fried chicken wings. Reasonable pricing with nearby competitors though didn't get to try their slushy as machine was down. A star removed for the ddeokbokki as I had to ask for it to be cooked twice and it was still very hard to chewy like it didn't get cooked long enough. A lot of ingredients were out including their kimchi and some wings that were very limited due to ingredients shortage. Will come back to try again, had really anticipated coming here and was a bit disappointed leaving hungry still. Overall very chill place with good music and fun atmosphere. 10/10 recommend original or spicy original wings

Yelp
I'm back~! I need to save my quota for fried foods haha. I got my lunch special because you can only get it M-Th. I ordered their original dry fried chicken (no sauce). It was really good, even for take out. I ordered a diet coke to go with it and it was such a delicious meal and when I "stock up" on my quota again I'll drop by! It was super flakey, the chicken was moist, and the daikon radish with it was a great way to reduce the oiliness, too.

Yelp
I first drove by during their grand opening weekend and saw a long line outside. Came back on Monday when they weren't busy and got seated right away with no wait. Service: 3/5 I had read online that the service was lacking, and that was still the case during my visit. The staff seemed inexperienced, and I'm not sure if they had prior restaurant experience or received proper training. We waited at least 20 minutes before we could place our order and get water. Since it was my first visit, I asked about the difference between whole chicken and wings, specifically if the whole chicken included drumsticks and other parts. Our waitress said it was her first day and had to check with the kitchen. I wasn't upset but it really made me question how they train their staff. I asked about literally the first thing on the menu and my waitress had no clue. Redeeming my birthday reward was also a bit of a struggle due to my waitress being new. That said, the food came out very quickly. However, I had to track someone down to get my receipt and pay. The table next to us wasn't given a menu until the waitress came to take their order 10-15 minutes after being seated. Menu & Pricing: There are plenty of flavors to choose from, along with lunch special combos. Prices are reasonable and comparable to the competitor across the street. However, you can't pick flavors for the half & half option so we ordered two flavors separately. Food: The wings here are big, unlike the competitor's tiny wings across the street. We ordered two smalls and the portions were big due to the large wing size. I read that they claim to use fresh (never frozen) chicken and change their oil daily. I hope that's true. The wings were delicious and juicy. The Golden Original was crispy and juicy, but I wouldn't order it again. After two wings, it felt a bit bland, and I found myself wanting a dipping sauce. The Soy Garlic was flavorful from start to finish, and the Rose Ddeok-Bokki did not disappoint. Despite only ordering 16 wings, we left feeling very full. Given the wing size, I'd guess the lunch combos might even be enough for two people. I'll definitely be back to try more flavors and menu items. Hopefully, the service improves with time, but the food alone makes it worth returning.

Yelp
Lots of seating and the takeout system is pretty nice. Get a text when it's ready, friendly over the phone service and usually ready in about 20 mins. Got the honey garlic, Gangnam style and rose pasta. Honey garlic is amazing. Crispy and light skin with juicy chicken, like wow. The honey garlic is perfect being. Strong sweet honey flavor but get the rustic roasty garlic. I'll get this flavor every time. The gangnam was a good pairing with a milder flavor with a very gentle buildup burn. Tasted a bit like black bean crossover with general tso chicken. Excited to keep coming back and trying other flavors!

Yelp
This spot is chicken heaven. The food? Outrageously good--crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and somehow still piping hot by the time I got home. Like, did they wrap it in dragon fire or something? Service was top-tier too--super friendly staff who kept me updated every step of the way like a chicken dispatch hotline: "Your wings are being prepped... they're in the fryer... they're ready for takeoff!" Bonus points for the place being spotless. You could eat off the floor (but don't--use a plate, these wings deserve better). I'll be back. My taste buds are already planning their next visit.

Yelp
First time trying this place and really enjoyed it. The chicken came out fresh and hot, but definitely had that crunch. The owner is very friendly and accommodating to the table and always checking in. We had the cheesy Tteokbokki and 2 different chickens (original and cheesy), then some red sauce pasta with a kimchi one to-go. All very yummy and didn't disappoint. Luckily it wasn't crowded as I heard about a month ago. All in all, great experience and will return again. I'm very interested in trying their chicken sandwich when they finally have it available.

Yelp
Still as good as the first time ever trying bb.q Chicken in SoCal! As soon as I heard they opened up a bb.q location in Beaverton, I knew I had to pay a visit! I wanted to go here on opening night, but I wasn't sure I'd get in. I called, and they said a one hour to ninety minute wait. So, the first Friday of opening week, we arrived at 10:40am, and waited for the place to open at 11am. I was expecting a long line, but to our luck, there wasn't. But did it get busy soon after? You bet it did! All tables were full within the first fifteen minutes. The size of the place is fairly decent, with about twenty-five to thirty tables I'd say. Mostly for a table of four, but also had smaller tables for two. I believe there were larger tables in the back, but I felt there was plenty of room in general. They did have tv screens advertising their chicken lol and k-pop playin' in the background. If you could imagine, the place got louder as more tables filled up. Now lets get right to the WINGS! We all ordered the Lunch Combo for only $17 (Wings and Boneless). My friend got the Boneless because he didn't wanna get his pretty fingers dirty; eye-roller! For the most part, the combo came with 6 wings, fries, and a soda. You can upgrade to onion rings, cheese sticks, sweet potato fries, or rice for a dollar more. Flavors tried: ~ Spicy Galbi Wings - These weren't as spicy as I thought, but they were still tasty with some sweetness. I would get this flavor again. ~ Cheesling Wings - First time trying the cheesling and by-golly, I loved them! They are dusted on, so be prepared to get cheese powder all over you face and clothes. The wings were nice and crispy, and luscious with every bite. Next on my list to try is the Gangjeong and Gangnam Style. I previously enjoyed the Spicy Original and Wings of Fire at their other locations, and know how good they are. If you don't know what to get, then I recommend just starting out with the Golden Original. It's what they're known for, before trying all the other added intense flavors. I actually ordered some to-go! We had excellent service from a couple of the staff, but with a place like this the guys gotta hustle! All of them were cordial if you needed anything, but we expected the slowness. As I knew it would take a lot of time in preparing the chicken, so I warned my friends this would be a longer lunch hour lol. But once the chicken arrived, MAAAAN it was well worth the wait! Near the end, I was very delighted that the manager/owner, Jin, approached our table to ask us how things were. So we gave her good honest feedback. They're still workin' out the kinks, so please be patient. And "best of luck" to you Jin! We'll be back!

Yelp
The great service was the star of the show. They all deserve *****'s. We tried the Original and Soy Garlic. Beware of the original, it does have a kick (spicy). If you have little ones, it might be too spicy for them (the manager recommended the cheese powder for kids). Also, the batter had a hard crunch to it. Too crunchy for my liking. Soy Garlic was very tasty, flavorful and garlicky. If you are on a first date I would not recommend this one because the garlic is strong on with this one. Your breath and upper lip will be smelling like garlic for days. Don't say I didn't warn you. Tastes very similar to "China Jade" house special chicken. We also ordered a side of rice and fries. The fries were fresh and had a crispy batter. Totally a Korean vibe, almost like like eating chicken in South Korea.

Yelp
Love love loved this place and will definitely be back. My friend and I ordered one 8 pc golden original and one 8pc honey garlic and it was so good. The chicken on the inside came extremely hot and the meat was so tender really fresh. The golden original had a little bit of spice to it, if you can't handle any type of spice this is not it for you. But for me it was barely any spice to notice but I could see if you never eat spicy food this may be too much. The honey garlic was great, normally I am a dry rub only but this was really great there was a lot of flavor and sweetness. There is an excessive amount of batter on these wings so if that's your thing you should definitely check this place out. Overall we came as 2 people on a Thursday night and the wait was only 15 so not too bad but if you go with a larger crowd I'd expect a wait since it's very trendy right now. Service was great, waiters were really nice.

Yelp
I'm writing this review late however, I was the first person at their opening right at 11am to get their order in and served. How cool is that! bb.q delivers the best Korean fried chicken I've tried in the Portland/Beaverton area! The meat is incredibly tender and juicy, while the crispy coating locks in all that flavor. Their variety of flavors is great, from classic soy garlic to spicy and bold options--there's something for everyone. Their lunch deals are solid, making it a great spot for an affordable and satisfying meal. I would recommend this place to any fried chicken lover! One thing to keep in mind: the wait time really varies. For me personally, it took 30-35 minutes considering there was no wait and they fry everything fresh to order. It's worth it in my opinion just because there was no wait or heavy crowd yet but I'd suggest not coming on an empty so you can fully enjoy the experience.

Yelp
3.5/5 We came on a busy night so the wait was very long, but we didn't mind. We ordered 3 items, two orders of chicken and one order of tteokbokki. The honey garlic wings and rose tteokbokki came out first. I was surprised that the temperature of both foods weren't hot. Given the long wait I thought everything would be made fresh to order but when we got our food it was room temp... One of our chicken orders and tteokbokki came out first. We debated on waiting for everything to come out to start eating but got too hungry. Good thing we didn't wait because even after finishing both plates, our other order of chicken still didn't come out. We waited for at least another 20 minutes and at that point we didn't even care for it anymore. It seems like the table next to us experienced the same thing but they got comped on that last order and got other free food for the wait. Not a huge deal but still left me feeling a bit weird seeing another table get better treatment than us for having the same problems. Honey garlic was the best thing we ordered. Secret sauce was a bit weird.. it was kind of sweet and cinnamon-y

Yelp
I love love love chicken. This place is sooo good. The chicken is bigger than other chicken chains like Wingstop or Bonchon. I highly recommend the Honey Garlic flavor! It's the perfect balance between savory garlic and sweet honey. The Gangnam style was okay, I would not get it again because it wasn't spicy. The Rose' Ddeok-Bokki was spicer than the Gangnam and yummier. It was cheesy and packed with flavor. I definitely recommend the Honey Garlic wings and Rose' Ddeok-Bokki. The Mango Tango Soju Slush was also really good and refreshing! We waited around 1.5 hours to get seated, around 30 minutes to order, and then another 1.5 hours to receive our food. The workers were super nice and patient, especially with how busy it was. I will say though that the table beside us decided to leave early b/c the wait took too long. Then friends of the owner took their place, ordered quicker, were given free drinks, and received their food before us. While we understand that the restaurant was busy and it's common for owners to accommodate their friends, we found it odd and a bit frustrating that they received their food before us, especially after we had already waited such a long time. It made the experience feel less fair, despite the other staff's kindness and patience. Overall, definitely worth a visit for yummy & delicious food. But I recommend visiting after the busy opening hype dies down!

Yelp
I've been waiting for this place to open and was excited to finally come and dine in! They had their grand opening yesterday. We came in around 1:15pm and to our surprise, it wasn't too crowded. The overall ambiance of the restaurant was great with music and TVs displayed. Their lunch combos are such a good deal (weekdays from 11-3pm). You get 6 pieces of wings, choice of side, and a soda. We tried original, soy garlic, and cheesling. Their soy garlic is my absolute favorite. Although I was surprised that it appeared the soy garlic wings had a drizzle of their flavor rather than it being fully coated with its sauce, it was still delicious. The cheesling wings are yummy but the flavor can be overpowering; I personally can't have too much of it. The original wings in my opinion were just okay, but it was my husband's favorite. The wings are HUGE and so worth their price. Our server Soyoung was so attentive and friendly, she definitely contributed to our awesome experience here. We'll definitely be back to try other flavors and would love to try their different pasta!

Yelp
Pretty busy place even on a Monday at 6 PM. Service was great- Timothy was very kind and answered all out questions with high spirits. Unfortunately they are reworking the galbi flavot so i couldnt grt to tru it. Ended up getting a Half order of the secret flavor... it was okay. The highlights were definitely the Szechuan but it wasn't as spicy as we thought it was going to be. Unfortunately there was no galbi flavor.

Yelp
Had bb.q chicken in both locations; takeout order from the beaverton location and dine in from the flock location. Overall the texture and flavor of the chicken was great. My only complaint about some of the flavors of the sauces especially the sweet glazed ones were that they were a bit too sweet in my opinion. I had the cheese dusted wings, and I was not expecting it to be as sweet as it was. But overall, the flavor was great. At the flock location, I ordered the plain wings, and to my surprise these tasted great despite the fact that there was no sauce coating. There was a slight, mild salt/umami flavor and that was a big contrast of flavors compared to when I had it with sauced up, which I enjoyed. It was simple Korean fried chicken which I personally enjoyed. Overall, the quality of the chicken was great, the texture of the batter was light and crisp, and the chicken remained juicy. It's definitely one of the better Korean fried chicken I've tasted in awhile.

Yelp
The size of each individual wing/drumstick is much larger than other places I have tried which is good to consider when ordering what size you want. I tried three flavors, which I'll rank in order of most enjoyed to least: spicy original, secret sauce, and soy garlic. The soy garlic sadly was my least favorite because the batter they coat it in is different from the other two and the flavor was oddly bitter. The best I can describe the batter is that it's the same as Japanese tempuras. The secret sauce flavor has a cinnamon taste to it which can be appealing to some and less so to others. The spicy original is, of course, just an original flavor but spicy which I think is honed to perfection. It is not as spicy as I expected it to be.

Yelp
The cheese fried chicken is my favorite. It's crispy with the delicious flavor of that wonderful cheese powder they have. You guys have to try it!

Yelp
There is a Yelp waitlist to sign in on and notify you when your table is ready. They also have takeout kiosks you can order from. They didn't seem to be working at full capacity as there were several empty tables with many parties waiting. After being seated, it was unclear who our waiter was, as nobody came to our table after water was dropped off. We ended up flagging down a waitress from a different section, who entered our order instead. Food takes a while, as a sign warns that all chicken is fried to order, which is appreciated, but just expect a wait of at least 20 minutes. We got the Half and half whole chicken with Original and Secret sauce. You get 8 pieces of each flavor (breast and thigh pieces are chopped into pieces). I usually prefer unsauced fried chicken to preserve the crunch, but the light batter wasn't super crispy on the Original. It has a subtle salt/sweet flavor to it, but is otherwise a bit bland. The meat itself doesn't appear seasoned. The Secret sauce has a good balance of salt/sweet/tang, but there was a subtle indescribable off-putting flavor/smell. I don't know if this was a fluke, but this was also present to a lesser degree in the Original. It is served with pickled daikon, which was nice except for the slight chlorine taste. I realize I'm starting to sound a bit nuts at this point, but that was my experience. You are started off with 1 small napkin, but they come around with larger napkins later.

Yelp
service was unfortunately below average. we only saw our waiter once (when he took our order). we came in a weekday afternoon but some of the items were sold out like fried rice. we ordered the half and half and spicy rice cake. rice cake was the perfect spice for me! will consider coming back when the crowd dies down

Yelp
I have tried this place twice now. Each time I had the wings. There is a fair amount of breading on the wings. On the second visit, there was way too much breading/batter. The wings were so large that the box couldn't close. I had to remove the coating. It's a nice looking place inside. You can order at the kiosk for takeout. The wings come with pickled radish. Golden Original - bland. Needed more salt. Spicy Galbi - not much flavor Gang-Jeong - good Gangnam Style - best of the four. More intense flavor

Yelp
food 3.5/5 service 4/5 ambiance 4/5 I've been passing by this spot since construction started, and it's great to see it finally open! I first heard about bb.q chicken while I was in LA, so it's exciting to have it in town now. As a popular fried chicken joint, it's already drawing attention, but with less than a week since opening, there are still some areas that need improvement. One thing that could definitely improve the experience is the check-in system. I feel like it's more convenient to have a tablet right in front for customers to sign in, rather than having to track down a staff member. With the place packed and a line out the door, it got pretty chaotic. First, you need to find a staff member with the check-in sheet to put your name and phone number down, then wait to be called. I got there around 7:30pm, and I didn't get called until about an hour later. Ordering was relatively easy since we had already decided what we wanted, but there were a few things I wasn't aware of. For example, the half-and-half option is only available for specific combos they've already set, no substitutions. Also, the Galbi flavor won't be available until February. Also, they were out of soju slushies that night which was a bit of a letdown. That said, the staff was friendly and checked in with us often, which I appreciated. Food came out surprisingly fast. Here's what I got: * Whole Chicken with secret sauce (half portion)* The sauce was exactly as described sweet and tangy. The chicken was super crunchy with a light, airy batter. * Small wings with soy garlic * The flavor didn't quite deliver, the soy taste was more dominant than the garlic. I was hoping for a stronger garlic kick, but it was still decent. *Rose ddeokbokki* A great starter to share with friends, chewy and creamy in flavor. *Cheesling fries* These were a surprise hit, the cheese powder was generous, and while it was a little sweeter than I personally like, it still made for a tasty appetizer, I'd order this again. We had a little issue with our secret sauce chicken order not coming out when it was supposed to. It arrived after we finished everything else, I had to ask our server about three times, they explained that the kitchen had messed up our order at first, then that they were backed up, which we didn't mind waiting for. To make up for the mix-up, they surprised us with an order of chicken kimchi fried rice on the house which was a really thoughtful gesture and definitely appreciated! Overall, I would definitely come back! The vibe is fun and definitely reminiscent of the LA style, great music and energy also open late!!!I'll probably wait until the hype dies down a little though since the wait times can be a bit lengthy right now.

Yelp
Can I just say, WOW. My family and I drove up from Seattle to shop and eat because we heard this was honestly better than the one currently in Washington, and we were so pleasantly surprised. The service was just amazing and the staff really made the whole experience really special for us. We were expecting super long lines from other reviews we read, but I think their soft opening was just extremely busy. The chicken pieces were so much bigger than other chains we've visited, but overall I'd recommend getting the boneless wings. They were so juicy and flavorful, I think the spicy galbi was INSANE. Omg and you HAVE to try the kimchi pasta, I was a bit skeptical at first bc I wasn't sure about pasta + kimchi combo, but I was proven so wrong. It was sooo creamy, umami and not too spicy at all. This location is a must visit anytime you're in the portland/beaverton area.

Yelp
Taste was great! But staffs are terrible. She gave me unclean table. Also I came first but she contacted other guest first. I won't eat inside this place again; I'll only do takeout. And the tables and chairs are not that clean.

Yelp
First impression review: I placed an to-go order right at 11 when the opened on a Friday. I called in ahead of time, came to the store and was confused because no one was greeting or asked to get seated. All the staff were at the cashier counter chatting. I mentioned my order but it seems like they put it under the wrong name so they couldn't find my order. He said "we got your order but it'll be another 15 minute." 15 minutes passed by and I asked to check up on my order. One of the staff said, "One of your order is being made right now. We make everything fresh and it takes about 15-20 minutes to fried the chicken. Sorry, we are backed up right now." Which was really frustrating to me. Meanwhile, people who ordered after me already gotten their food. I waited an hour total for my take out order. I noticed there were plenty of tables that were open but weren't seated. Dine-in wait was about 20-30 for a table, on top of that another 25-40 for food. It seems like they were not prepared for grand opening at a busy capacity. I got the small Gangnam wings and Rose pasta. The wings to me were okay. Heavy battered, and some batter didn't stay on the wings. It would fall off as soon as I bite into it. Didn't taste much of the peppers or garlics. Although the Rose was really good, cheesy and creamy. I wouldn't come here again for their first month. Would try again after the busy phase is over.

Yelp
Had the lunch specials. The chicken was tender and juicy. The honey garlic was amazing. The cheese sticks are some of the best. Strawberry lemonade was spot on. New so it's very busy and servers are trying hard to keep up. Would definitely come back.

Yelp
Considering it is newly open and people stormed in for Friday dinner, I think the service and wait time was good. Staff was nice and attentive in general though it was not faster due to many customers. One thing really surprised me and my wife was chicken smelled and tasted plasticky (chemical). Both found it coming from batter, so either battering or oil was causing it. Original golden and Secret sauce both had the issue. Chicken looked and tasted fresh, but the smell and taste made us stop eating after a couple. Nobody seemed to be bothered about it around the restaurant and in the review, so it could be our palate issue. BBQ is known for using olive oil ( and recently sunflower oil mix?), so our sense might not get along well with it. Regretfully, I can't give it more than 3 stars. Hope others have no problem with its peculiar smell and taste.

Yelp
The Honey Garlic Wings is pretty salty, after eating a couple pieces it can start tasting old if just eating it alone. If getting take out, would recommend pairing it with rice to even out the saltiness. Highly recommend the Spicy Galbi, maybe because it's not soy sauce based it's not so salty, 10/10. The Rosé Ddeokbokki tastes like the pink packet Cheese flavor Buldak instant ramen. The ddeokbokki is soft and chewy not hard like some other Korean restaurants in Portland.

Yelp
Chimking, every gastro pub, and many korean bbq spots have great korean fried chicken, and this place does it just as well and adds a few twists to it. Great family style offerings so great for a crowd and drinks incredibly cold and refreshing. Service was really prompt and didn't skimp on anything, had a good amount of leftovers, and the offerings go past the chicken, pasta, rice dishes, and typical fried foods all share the menu. Check it out and try the boneless, just the thighs taken off and fried, not breast meat only-best kind of boneless.

Yelp
Today was my 5th visit I think. Been getting the bb.q withdrawal for a couple wks. Had to return. Chimek time. Zero disappointment. Same quality service and ambiance. IMO BETTER food than the beginning: flavor, juiciness, and definitely the speed. Didnt have to sit drooling for over 20 mins this time. Just remember, 'golden original' comes with the perfect hint of a kick, for most people just fine. Enjoy with a ice cold pilsner thnx for openning this great location in Oregon!!

Yelp
I got to visit this spot a total of three times so far, the first time I visited it was during their opening week and we were sadly unable to make it onto the waitlist as we were turned away due to the huge demand they had. The second time around, I had made sure to get to bbq chicken earlier and I was able to get my friends and I onto the waitlist. It took about roughly 1 hour and a half to get a spot on a Saturday night. The servers were very friendly and my group ordered lots of food! I found myself enjoying their rose pasta, of course their chicken was crispy and had a large selection of flavors to choose from. My friend and I got to have their soju slushy and it was super tasty, you can't even taste the alcohol! I had asked and apparently they only put one shot of soju into the drink. I ended up going back a third time as I enjoyed their rose pasta the most! It was good, but I found that it tasted better with company and a variety of different foods. Would suggest visiting with friends and sharing family style as you get to try more flavors that way. I had learned that the bbq part of the name stands for best of best quality, which is a neat fun fact.

Yelp
Well I was recommended here by several coworkers and the online pictures looked really good so I decided to take one of my daughters out to lunch here the place is clean we were promptly seated and orders taken I ordered the gang jeong wings and she had the original chicken with sweet potato fries and I had the cheesling fries the wings were very crispy and sweet almost like a candied crispy chicken so much that I really couldn't taste the chicken which was cold not like it sat out waiting to be delivered but cold like out the fridge my daughter did verify by touching it so I tried the cheesling fries they were sweet and didn't taste like potato I did have the waiter take it away and did not want a replacement so we shared the original chicken wings wich was hot crispy and delicious and after every bite steam flowed the sweet potatoes were just as great I seem to have the bad luck when I try a new place and maybe it was a fluke but I'm done with this place it's good but not worth the hype I hope you have a better experience thank you for your time and happy dining

Yelp
Wow! I've been to two different locations in Las Vegas, oen in San Francisco, and Tacoma... the standard there is pretty high BUT this new location hit it out of the park. Ever since trying the other places we prayed and wished for a location to make it to Oregon, yet here is one 15 min now from our house. The wait was non existent to be seated. The Chicken was superb! Crunchy and flavorful. A little pricey but you are paying for quality. The service was great and it's a fun and lively atmosphere. There was a small hiccup with our order and they made it right for us. Super thankful. The dragon lemonade was also very tasty. We will absolutely be continuing to patron this amazing Korean chicken place. 10/10!!!! Slot of the reviews mention slow service I just want to say they are working on it, they literally just opened and any business takes a little time to get everything ironed out. Our experience however was great. Also remember everything is cooked fresh. The chicken is fried fresh to order and the process for Korean chicken means the chicken is fried a few times so it takes time to do! Definitely give this place a go!

Yelp
I came in with low expectations, but was pleasantly surprised. I often feel chicken wings can be a hit or miss, but this was nice! The wings were actually decent size with a nice crisp! Service was great! Food did take a while to arrive and orders was messed up a bit, however they made things right quickly. It's a nice cozy place for drinks and wings! I would love to come back and try other flavors. Note: the Wings of fire (the hottest) wasn't spicy for me, so it should be tolerable depending on your spice handle.
