Still as good as the first time ever trying bb.q Chicken in SoCal!
As soon as I heard they opened up a bb.q location in Beaverton, I knew I had to pay a visit! I wanted to go here on opening night, but I wasn't sure I'd get in. I called, and they said a one hour to ninety minute wait. So, the first Friday of opening week, we arrived at 10:40am, and waited for the place to open at 11am. I was expecting a long line, but to our luck, there wasn't. But did it get busy soon after? You bet it did! All tables were full within the first fifteen minutes.
The size of the place is fairly decent, with about twenty-five to thirty tables I'd say. Mostly for a table of four, but also had smaller tables for two. I believe there were larger tables in the back, but I felt there was plenty of room in general. They did have tv screens advertising their chicken lol and k-pop playin' in the background. If you could imagine, the place got louder as more tables filled up.
Now lets get right to the WINGS! We all ordered the Lunch Combo for only $17 (Wings and Boneless). My friend got the Boneless because he didn't wanna get his pretty fingers dirty; eye-roller! For the most part, the combo came with 6 wings, fries, and a soda. You can upgrade to onion rings, cheese sticks, sweet potato fries, or rice for a dollar more.
Flavors tried:
~ Spicy Galbi Wings - These weren't as spicy as I thought, but they were still tasty with some sweetness. I would get this flavor again.
~ Cheesling Wings - First time trying the cheesling and by-golly, I loved them! They are dusted on, so be prepared to get cheese powder all over you face and clothes. The wings were nice and crispy, and luscious with every bite.
Next on my list to try is the Gangjeong and Gangnam Style. I previously enjoyed the Spicy Original and Wings of Fire at their other locations, and know how good they are. If you don't know what to get, then I recommend just starting out with the Golden Original. It's what they're known for, before trying all the other added intense flavors. I actually ordered some to-go!
We had excellent service from a couple of the staff, but with a place like this the guys gotta hustle! All of them were cordial if you needed anything, but we expected the slowness. As I knew it would take a lot of time in preparing the chicken, so I warned my friends this would be a longer lunch hour lol. But once the chicken arrived, MAAAAN it was well worth the wait!
Near the end, I was very delighted that the manager/owner, Jin, approached our table to ask us how things were. So we gave her good honest feedback. They're still workin' out the kinks, so please be patient. And "best of luck" to you Jin! We'll be back!
