Where to Find the Best Wings in Houston | Eater Houston

"It takes two days to marinate and fry the wings at this Korean chain, resulting in super juicy, tender meat inside an extra-crispy skin. Get them with the sweet and spicy sauce Hot Mala, or the soy or honey garlic." - Brittany Britto Garley

Korean Fried Chicken Chain BB.Q Chicken Will Open in Houston | Eater Houston

"A popular chain known for exceptionally crisp Korean fried chicken is set to open a location in Houston; permits filed with the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission list the spot at 8383 Westheimer Road, Suite 114. The restaurant — which already has Texas outposts in Katy, Dallas–Fort Worth and Austin and reportedly has plans to expand to around 50,000 locations worldwide — serves both boneless and bone-in chicken that is marinated, battered and fried in a two-day process before being finished with sauces like sweet-and-spicy or honey-garlic. The menu also includes “Cupbob” bulgogi and short-rib bibimbap bowls served in cups, plus snacks such as fried cheese sticks, takoyaki, tteokbokki and waffle fries. No official opening date has been announced, though a post on the chain’s Facebook page indicates a September debut." - Amy McCarthy

Google
Always get it to go, but the place is nice and quaint. The chicken is some of the best I’ve had in town hands-down. Crispy sweet tangy a delight if you’re looking for some good crispy crunchy beautiful chicken wings. This is the place.

Google
Let me tell you something, This Fried Chicken is on ANOTHER LEVEL! 🔥🔥 If you like fried chicken like me it has to pass these stuff: 1. Crispy Golden Brown 2. Juicy soft chicken inside 3. WELL seasoned with a little bit of spicy 4. No need for sauce 5. No need for red insane hot This chicken has all 5 ✅ It became my #1 fried chicken spot in Houston‼️

Shelia J.

Google
This was by far the best fried chicken I’ve had in a very long time. We did 2 medium orders: spicy original and Caribbean. I will say the spicy original was my favorite. The chicken was flavorful throughout. The Caribbean was sauced ALL OVER and the SAUCE was very good but the flavor didn’t actually reach the chicken but it was still good. Just wish what ever seasoning they use on the original they should use that for all the ones with sauce as well. We also ordered the Kimchi rice…as flavorful as it looked it was not. It was just well prepared rice with an egg on top. I was expecting and explosion of flavor as soon as it touched my taste buds but it was a dud. All in all this is my opining go for the chicken avoid the kimchi rice.

Google
First time trying this location and absolutely loved it! I got the medium (9pcs) Secret Sauce Original Wings and my partner got the medium (9pcs) Spicy Original Wings with waffle fries, both chicken wings were juicy & delicious- I also got the So Ddeok So Ddeok with the secret sauce, it’s okay/alright in my opinion. I probably wouldn’t buy it again, but I’d recommend to try it at least once

Google
We read the reviews and decided to try this place. We had 1/2 chicken with sweet potato fries. The lady gave us two sauces on the side. We were not dissapointed. The chicken was absolutely delicious! Even the fries. Friendly staff. When we come back to Houston, we will definitely come back to this place.

Google
Got the Spicy Original — super fresh, crazy crispy, and the flavor was on point. Had just the right amount of kick without being too much. Definitely hit the spot.

So I'm Here on 6/10/24 I came here cause I was really craving a new taste of Korean Fried chicken...(BUT NOT THE TASTE I GOT!). I came in and liked the vibe it was empty (no costumers) but spacious with KPOP music videos playing in the back. The waitress on shift told me sut any where. So I did. As soon as I sat I guess and the smells of seasons and grease made me Sneeze like a nose does. The waitress after that point start act as if I had something and handing me menus from a distance and also asking for me to hand them back to here at a two arm distance. I didn't mind that tho. You know because of the Panarama! I ordered the waffle fries and the lunch special Bonless original Korean Fried chicken. The waffle fries came out first like it was an appetizer (which I thought was weird). But they were okay not bad and had a nice color and crunch. Then my chicken came about 6min Later. The Boneless original Korean Fried chicken that I ordered were very fresh and nice and flaky so I was excited. I bit into it and the Taste was AWFUL! It was a taste between liver and spoiled. (I took photos so I know I wasn't being dramatic) the chicken was spoiled! I tried 3 Peices cause I wanted to like it. MY stomach started to rumble. I just hoping I don't get sick at this point! 21.00 plus tip was how much this meal was. Not worth getting sick over!

Yelp
I have been to two of these outlets in Northern Virginia and have enjoyed the food and service in both. bb.q chicken has been the exception to my extreme dislike of chains. Not so in Houston. First impression: the outside looked very dirty and uninviting. I actually wondered whether it had already gone out of business. One door didn't work but upon opening the other door we were greeted not with a pleasant Korean fried chicken aroma, but with the overwhelming smell of heavy chemical disinfectant. Now everyone likes a clean restaurant but this was like a noxious cloud of chemical gas. (And the worse part is the restaurant wasn't even that clean. The bathroom had paper thrown all around it and the screen on the window obviously hadn't been cleaned in years - I almost accidentally leaned into it before seeing how grease-stained and dirty it was.). The "waiter" was almost a zombie. He had his earbuds in his ears so perhaps he was listening to his music while waiting tables? But he mumbled some kind of greeting that none of us could decipher. Several things we wanted to order were "not available." One had been off the menu for a long time but they just keep it on the menu card, we were informed by mumbling earbuds. Waiter honestly seemed like he'd rather be anywhere else than at work. Maybe this is not the job for you, earbud guy? We pressed on and placed our order. The fourteen dollar (!!!) bulgogi rice plate was a tiny, cheap, thin plastic bowl three-fourths full of rice with a couple of pieces of meat on top. It looked old. Sad. And it came out long before the rest of the plates! People go out to dinner or lunch to eat together. If you give one person in the party his meal long before the others you kill the fun of eating together. Then they came with the "sides." Korean corn, coleslaw, pickled daikon. The Korean corn (four bucks) was awful. Tasted like chemicals and was watery and just gross. Tiny styrofoam cup. The Korean corn at the Falls Church VA outlet was outstanding. This was inedible. Coleslaw (four bucks!!!) was in a tiny styrofoam cup with some cabbage and water and maybe a pinch of mayo. Gross gross. Pickled daikon was also gross. And such small portions... Finally the other three plates came out. After a long wait. I had my favorite, which is the second hottest thing on the menu. Nowhere as spicy as it was in Clarendon, VA (very little sauce on it) and the eight piece wings (FOR SIXTEEN DOLLARS AND NINETY-NINE CENTS!!!!) was five flats and three drums. All of them could literally have come off a pigeon. That's how small they were. They were almost microscopic. Another in our party had galbi style boneless and it honestly was twice the amount of meat that I got. Same price. Downside: she said there was a really weird taste to the food. Kind of tasted and smelled like an old sponge. Kind of moldy or mildew tasting. What's going on in that kitchen?? Where are you storing the sauces? You can see in the photo the comparison in portions for the same price. I would actively attempt to dissuade anyone from eating at this sad, disinfectant-smelling, empty restaurant with nearly no service and even less happiness. Worst part of it all: Lunch for four with an appropriately modest tip was...NINETY DOLLARS! One beer, three waters.

Yelp
I'm gonna agree with the testament that the service here is not that great. I had bb.q chicken before ( my friend brought it to a hangout and I LOVED it), however this time eating out at the restaurant might change my mind about coming here. Service was kinda weird, they just kinda sit around until someone walks in and out waters remained empty for a while (even tho they have a sign to not get our own drinks at the drink station). Also, it was so hot in here, even when the places started to fill up, the restaurant was still hot, people were fanning themselves the whole time. Good idea would've been to close the window blinds and probably offer your guest some ICE cold water. Instead, waters had minimal ice and the ice melted within seconds of coming to our table. The food was good, just not amazing for the service to be like that. I would much rather take to go and not deal with servers or the heat. We got the honey garlic and galbi wings. Honey garlic was super good and crunchy, I think I'll pass on the galbi. Something was off about the taste. Calamari and fries were good. Overall, I'll be ordering for take out next time.

Yelp
BBQ Chicken in Houston is hands down one of my favorite spots for Korean fried chicken! The chicken is perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and coated in sauces that are flavorful without being overwhelming. The garlic soy and spicy flavors are both spot-on and my friend and I will normally split it while ordering both. Also sides like pickled radish and fries round out the meal perfectly. Service is quick and friendly, and the atmosphere is casual and fun -- great for a quick bite or a casual night out. Every visit leaves me craving more -- it's consistently delicious and always hits the spot!

Yelp
Best Korean Fried chain restaurant My favorite flavor was the Spicy Original wings but Galbi Wings has a salty but somewhat sweet flavor that I'm addicted to!
google avatar

Alejandro R.

Yelp
Come here if you want some fresh, crunchy, and delicious Korean fried chicken that never disappoints! Service is great and vibe is very casual. Plenty of seating and parking available. We usually get the spicy original and soy garlic chicken wings. Both are delicous - spicy original has a good kick and the soy garlic wings are very savory. The wings are consistently pretty thicc, and the ranch is solid. Fries are good, nothing particularly special but a good pairing. Other tips: The lunch deal on weekdays is super good! Their method for storing the chicken for takeout is effective too, helps keep the chicken crunchy and not soggy.

Yelp
Franchises can be funky! As many of us have experienced, there's nothing worst than walking in with an expectation from experiencing a brand in one location only to find something less than at another location. That being said this franchise surprised me! The location itself both inside the restaurant and outside in terms of the surrounding area are nothing special. In addition to a few tables, the weathered booths are borrowed from the previous tenant (branding included). On our visit, our service was fine, just fine, but the reason this business earns 5 stars is 100% related to the product. We ordered both fries (would not recommend) and onion rings (would recommend) which both arrived notably before the wings, but the wings were worth the wait. The unique clean crunchy exterior is incredibly addicting so much so that neither the location nor the lukewarm warm service mattered after first bite. We tried the bone-in honey garlic and spicy galbi. Both flavors were perfectly balanced, flavorful, and delicious. I will say, if anyone has mastered reheating these bad boys, let me know! For now I suggest, eating them fresh!

Yelp
You can never go wrong with bbq chicken but I feel like the Westheimer location might have had an ownership/staff chicken because the food was different compared to previous experiences + Menu: Standard menu but for some reason they had no galbi sauce at all to make the galbi wings... + Food: Honey Garlic chicken felt way spicer than usual and the Rose Tteokbokki was mushy I have no idea why all the food tasted different than usual + Would I go here again: love bbq chicken but I might have to just stick to the Bellaire location and skip the Westheimer one

Yelp
This place has the absolutely best chicken wings you can get in houston. They are fried very crunchy more akin to traditional fried chicken, not like the "naked" wings you get most places... they have an amazing amount of crunch and even the ones that have not been tossed in sauce, pack amazing flavor in every bite. Be warned that once you eat these, you will not be satisfied by other chicken wings! Don't say I didn't warn you!

Yumin O.

Yelp
Pro Delicious food Staffs are friendly Con Take some time to prepare food Beer is not cold enough

Yelp
Excellent fried chicken with some spice to it. Wings were very good with some interesting flavors. I screwed up and didn't order any fries. I'll go back soon and get some. They look delicious. If you have a hankering for wings or fried chicken, go here. They are a better alternative to the other folks specializing in these dishes.

Yelp
Amazing, tasty, wings! Ordered takeout with the two following flavor wings: Gangjeong and Gangnam style. I personally loved the Gangjeong wings! They were suuuper flavorful, spicy, sweet that left me craving more. Gangnam style wings were also good, it had almost a black pepper flavor to the max We also ordered a side of teokbokki (regular) portion was good, and the sauce was very delicious, the rice cakes were plump and chewy.

Yelp
Had my mind set on this place, since I've seen it advertised in social media and I passed it so often. I walked in on a Sunday afternoon and was a bit confused on how to navigate the ordering process. The place was empty and there was on staff member who told me that I could sit anywhere and she'd come and take my order. I sat in a booth and was instantly confused as to where I was. The embroidery on the seat opposite mine indicated that I was in a Red Cab seafood restaurant. LOL. After hearing about the specials and how to order from the menu I ordered Hot Spicy Boneless Wings, waffles fries, and a drink. The waffle fries were just OK and the boneless wings were more gristle, fat, and batter than anything, which took away from the tastiness of the hot and spicy sauce. Can't see going back to do seconds here.

Miss N.

Yelp
Good food and staff provided great service. Favorite dishes are the soy garlic wings, takoyaki, kimchi fried rice and teobokki.

Yelp
I work really close by and whenever I have time I like to try all their flavors! All of them are so crispy and good I love!

Yelp
Yum!! Absolutely delicious SO-DDEOK-SO-DDEOK!! Also loved the fried Mac n cheese- crunchy exterior and melt in your mouth center! Main meal- Golden original chicken. I'm a big friend chicken fan and this hit the mark! Made fresh to order, crunchy exterior and hot juicy chicken inside. Everything was made fresh and brought out hot. Service was prompt and friendly. It's a relaxed atmosphere.
google avatar

Benedict B.

Yelp
Table service took long despite the minimal foot traffic, I guess they were making sure the chickens were cooked well. Huge space for meetups, just needs your patience. Do t come here if you're in a hurry.
google avatar

Requel P.

Yelp
This was my first visit. I wanted to just get the wings but they didn't allow 2 flavors in 1 set of 9 wings just 1 per order of wings. So since it was my first visit I opted for the chicken rice bowl. I was gonna get the Gang-jeong sauce but the cashier recommended that the Secret Sauce was one of their most popular flavors. I got it togo and when I got home it was still hot. The food was good. The secret sauce wasn't spicy at all, not sure if was supposed to be. But it was a good taste. I would try it again.

Ally N.

Yelp
Chicken was really good, fresh, and hot! I was disappointed at the portion compared to the price.
google avatar

Alice H.

Yelp
Downgrading based on most recent experience. Was really looking forward to the wings but left shortly after arriving because there were bugs all over the bathroom sink. I didn't want to think about what that meant for everything else. Also the inside looked even more dilapidated than the last time we were there. And they definitely need more staff. I stood for 7 minutes waiting to be seated. There were only two tables yet the waitress didn't even notice me for that entire time. If she had even acknowledged me, that would have been fine, but nope. Didn't even know there were customers. Switching to another location as wing size and timeliness of service has also gone downhill over the years.
google avatar

Katrina T.

Yelp
Food is still good here but the service has gone down immensely. I've been here twice recently and had a bad experience with the same waiter. I've seen guest had to go up to the waiter who was sitting on his phone the entire time to get a refill on their drink. We were automatically charged a 20% tip for a party of five. But there was literally no service at all. Absolutely ridiculous.

Yelp
Never have I ever wanted Korean fried chicken more until I watched Crash Landing on You. The product placement worked and I'm happy I didn't have to travel all the way to South Korea to try the infamous BB.Q chicken. I've gotten takeout from BB.Q previously but it's not fair to rate a restaurant on takeout when it is not as fresh. We finally dined in on New Years Eve. The restaurant is spacious and bathrooms have a keypad lock with a single toilet. Make sure to knock before entering as you never truly have privacy. The chicken is perfectly crisped, though the flavor is a bit lacking. I want to blame the fact that we came late on NYE as it has been more flavorful in the past. The wings are a perfect size, I prefer it on the smaller end. Make sure not to get the fries with Parmesan, it tasted too fake. We also got a large size wings for 18 wings total, 9 spicy original (BB) and 9 soy garlic. Overall, I would still come back to try more flavors. I do hope that the next wings will be more evenly coated with sauce.
google avatar

Henry Y.

Yelp
My friends and I had a double date at BB.Q Chicken yesterday and I was impressed by the delicious food and friendly service. The chicken was perfectly cooked and well-seasoned, with a crisp and savory coating that had just the right amount of spice. The staff were attentive and brought water and plates on time, making sure we had everything we needed. I've actually never had Korean fried chicken, and I would say based on this experience it is the KING of fried chicken styles. The batter used for coating the chicken is thin and crispy, which results in a crispy exterior and tender interior but not too 'thick' of a crust, which can gross you out after just a few pieces. There's a few options, wings, boneless, and whole chicken. Personally, I would stick with the wings. We got the spicy galbi, honey garlic, and golden original. My favorite was the original but honestly all of them were great, the sauces doesn't make the fried chicken soggy at all! It did take a while to get the chicken but you can tell they made them fresh, it was piping hot, so be sure to no burn your mouth! Yes, this is going to be one of the more expensive fried chicken places you'll go, considering there's plenty of competition. BUT if you're looking for the best, freshest, crispiest, and never-get-sick-of-eating chicken, BB.Q is gonna be your bb.
google avatar

Joy J.

Yelp
According to all of my friends, regardless of any race, everybody loves this chicken. Confident! Soy garlic will never disappoint anyone
google avatar

The T.

Yelp
When this place is on, it's hard to beat. Get the honey garlic and soy garlic wings, and waffle fries. The service and experience can be inconsistent but the food is spot on every time, which makes up for it.
google avatar

Hattina L.

Yelp
I've only been to this location 1 time and may not go back bc they're just not on point like the others are. They wings were over cooked and did not offer nor put the pickled radish inside bag
google avatar

Taste B.

Yelp
Taste My Wings. BB.Q is located in a busy strip mall but it's on the corner, so that helps. The Staff is nice and very helpful. Honey Garlic Wings - large wings, very flavorful, extra crispy and sticky from the honey. The hint of garlic balance the sweet honey. - soooo delicious Spicy Original - large wings, very crunchy, watch out for the spice. Very yummy! Some of the best wing i've had.

Mari L.

Yelp
The food is hands down the best in the area, no argument there. The downside is the new staff. Very rude and dismissive as well as excessively lazy!! They will intentionally ignore your table and not check in after delivering your food so if your order is incomplete you have to chase them down to have them acknowledge you. They also now charge you as a large party and force gratuity on your bill, when asked about the policy they say " it's for party's larger than 5" yet still charge you gratuity when your party is not larger than 5. They also don't tell you they've already added gratuity and try to trick you into double tipping. The could actually do some of the work and not just hide behind the counter. Not to mention they are aggressively rude and speak down to you. Disappointed with the staff and their poor customer service.

Yelp
I stopped into Bb.q Chicken on Westheimer for a quick snack. I'd been craving Korean fried chicken wings but decided I didn't want my usual spots. I ordered online while I was down the road in Chinatown, the ordering process was a breeze, and the estimate was about 25 minutes. I arrived about 10 minutes before my scheduled time and waited only 3-5 minutes for it to be finished. The lady at the counter was prepping and attentive to myself and the dine-in party. In terms of ambiance, there were only two parties inside but the place is huge. I will admit, I was a bit turned off by the smell inside, it reminded me of the farmer's/asian markets, it was kinda like old cabbage, collards or broccoli, I definitely could not have dined in and endured it so that's a loss of a star for me. I didn't see any signs of uncleanliness, just the off putting aroma. Overall, The price and portion is comparable to other kfc establishments, like hoodadak and soho chicken. I think the flavor options are bb.q are superior. Once I got home, the chicken was still hot, crunchy and flavorful. The wings are a perfect medium size, not those steroid wings you get at Brewingz but not the baby ones you get at American Deli or even Soho chicken. The spicy galbi is the way to go, in fact I'd call it a level 1 spice and it could be hotter. The sweetness balances it out and it is a delicious wing. I just wish I'd gotten a large, with that sauce, I could eat the 9 by myself, but I was forced to share!
google avatar

Aryani N.

Yelp
The area it's located in can be a little shady, but it's houston! We got it all! =P Located like super close to Walmart, pretty lights on patio, plenty of parking shared with trend mall. Soy garlic is my go to! Wings come in 8 piece or 9 piece. Fries come regular or with Parmesan on top, the fries here aren't extremely crispy don't expect them to be like bon chon! But super fun place to have soju & kfc wings. Only flaw is the restroom, single stall, ask for code. But knock first. Because if someone is in there, you'll walk in on them. Didn't happen to me, but whoops can happen to anyone! I call my order in to-go and typically ready in 20 min. Enjoy!
google avatar

Alexis Clareen H.

Yelp
Chicken was very fresh and crispy!! The flavor was spot on and it was cooked perfectly. Spice level isn't too bad if you're a fan of spice - would say 8/10 for the hottest level. Would recommend compared to bonchon or Hoodadak

Yelp
One word: franchisees Not sure if this location compared to the neighboring ones in Bellaire and Katy are owned by the same owner, but I doubt it. here's why! Went on a Sunday afternoon around 1:30pm, and it's dead inside. My hubs and I are the only patrons. The staff member tells us to sit on any four top, we find our seats, and I ask him if he has HITE (Korean beer) at a Korean establishment...but he just keeps repeating HI-TEA (for pronunciation), and then realizes he's not sure they carry this type of beer, he goes and asks the manager (who is always there) if they offer it. It's like this kid either didn't care about his job and being there, or he was partially deaf! I clearly stated my order and said that I wanted a medium order of both style wings, and he asked me again what size right before leaving the table. Mind you, doesn't offer us water or anything. Then, we wait what feels like light years, but probably at least 30+ minutes for our food, and for the first twenty minutes, we were the only patrons. Then we notice the kitchen staff mixed up our tickets with another patrons order who only recently had sat down, and we see them walk over to their table with part of their order. The outrage! After we've been waiting almost 40 min!!! So our food finally comes out. In the meanwhile, while we wait for food. The staff member and manager make repeated trips to the soda dispensing machine to get Refills, and stand around and chit chat with each other. Heads up: this location does not have HITE, only bottled TERRA and other domestic and Asian beers. Also. They didn't even offer or ask if we wanted pickled radish. They just assumed we wanted ranch, and brought us out ranch cups with our wings. #fail We ordered the usual: BB wings + Honey Garlic -my bb wings were over fried. Made the outside partially dry and chewy even though it maintained its crunch. Or it could've been that the oil they fried it in was old. -the honey garlic wings lacked flavor and were s bit bland too All in all, this location failed to deliver on many parts. We will def be going to Bellaire or Katy next time around. This location continues to disappoint and truly lacks the "Korean" standard of KFC. PSA: they are serious about only letting patrons use their restrooms. There's a code + here's a tip: move the door handle quickly after punching in the code. The ghetto of being located on Westheimer.
google avatar

Yelp
Over Priced and Over Cooked $16 bucks for 9 wings (2 orders) with no side or drink I couod have went to wing stop or even Fogo De Chao across the street with the final bill. Calamari was burnt $9, Fries $6, Onion Rings $6, Water $0, Ice Tea $2.50 no refills. The Carribean spice wings were okay hard to taste the flavor. Total like $72 with tip and tax......they said the $35 cspecial was conviently unavailable....never have I ever spent more than $35 at a wing spot and thats with sides, drinks, etc all in....

Brian B.

Yelp
Service is absolutely terrible. I had to yell across the restaurant to get his attention. Took forever to fill our water. Then was charged 20% tip for 5 person party... terrible business practice. We miss the old bbq chicken staff. Y'all need to fire that guy

Regina L.

Yelp
Always fresh, hot and perfectly crispy! The honey garlic wings are my favorite and the waffle fries are always perfect! Highly recommend!!
google avatar

Yvette H.

Yelp
We really love bb.q chicken. The taste and freshness is always on point. However something needs to be addressed! My last door dash order I received ranch sauce for the first time ever with Korean fried chicken. I called to ask why, and the staff explained people have preferences for ranch or pickled radish. But the staff decides who to give what by the name on the order. I felt like it was discrimination and so ridiculous. I am Korean but I don't use my Korean name for my orders, so I got the ranch. Needless to say, our order felt empty eating chicken without the pickled radish which makes the best pair! So for future delivery orders, everyone should make sure to notate whether you want ranch or pickled radish if you don't want the staff to guess based on your name what you would like. I asked to speak with the manager when I called, but apparently it's just one worker before the evening hours.

Yelp
It's called BB.Q CHICKEN. It's from Korea. Houston! We have a problem! First off, the place was clean. The ambiance gave off sports bar vibes, but I digress. They do serve beer on tap and bottles as well. The service was ok. The server helped me with choosing the right wings. (He did act a bit like I was annoying him) The haul: Medium Soy Garlic Wings(9 piece) & Kimchi Fried Rice. Let me rant: $30 BUCKS?????? I'm good. On with it. For any of you who have never had Korean Fried Chicken, let me let you in. That crunch is tremendous! You can hear that across a football field. Soy garlic flavor was not too sweet and flavorful! I could eat this all day. Now the rice threw me a bit. I took the first bite and was in another world. The rice was not too spicy....well except for that one bite of Kimchi I bit into. All in all that rice was well mixed with chicken, veggies and spice. Two people could have ate off this order. Honestly, besides the price tag, I would go back again.

Yelp
BBQ chicken is the best Korean fried chicken I've ever had! I've tried several of their flavors, and so far my favorites are the soy garlic and honey garlic. The chicken is always perfectly crispy, and the sauces stick to the crunchy exterior without making it soggy. I do think that usually the inside of the chicken needs some dipping sauce (since the sauce is only on the outside, the inside doesn't have much flavor), but that's usually the case with fried chicken. Their pickled radish is a nice accompaniment. This location is pretty spacious, and they have plenty of parking out front. I would highly recommend calling ahead as it can take them a while to cook the chicken once you order.

Yelp
Food: S (for Satisfying) Service: S (for Satisfying) Ambiance: S (for Satisfying) I tried their most spiciest chickens and it was AMAZING! I HIGHLY recommend everyone to try this place out (they have both spicy and non-spicy food, which are very delicious as well).

Yelp
I love bbq! The chicken is always so crispy and fresh. Even if you leave it out it is still somehow crispy a long time after. It is one of my favorite Korean fried chicken places and my go to restaurant if I don't know what to eat. I have been to multiple bbq locations and while I don't think that this one is the best out of the locations, it is still really good!

Yelp
Great deal for the lunch special but none of the regular wings are on the lunch special only the boneless ones. I do preferred bone-in wings as opposed to the boneless. Honey garlic wings if you don't like spicy wings. They give you a lot so I usually would but it in my air fryer and eat it the next day. The service is ok. I think everyone forgets that these wings are cooked only when u order so does take a little bit more time.

Yelp
BB.Q is a rapidly growing Korean fried chicken chain featured quite prominently in K-dramas and anywhere sizable Asian populations are found - in this case, on Westheimer between Westchase, the Galleria, and Chinatown. I believe my first experience with the chain was on a visit to South Korea in 2016; though I can't remember the storefront's name, the distinct quirk of frying their birds in olive oil makes me think here and there were one and the same. Take-out: In December, we swung by to pick up the half & half golden original and secret spicy combo, along with a side order of spicy tteokbokki. On first impression, the packaging was thoughtful and the food was still warm, though the size of the chicken seemed a little small. Its petite appearance belied an amazing flavor, juicy & fried deftly, as good as takeout chicken could be. The fiery rice cakes were a suitable side standing up to poultry perfection. I resolved to come back once in-person dining was available - I could not in good conscience leave a take-out only review! Dine-in: More recently our bubble was craving KFC and found the time to try BB.Q in person. Having poorly planned for Houston traffic, I told my friends to order ahead without me so they wouldn't have to wait even longer for their dinner. I sat down to three baskets of pristine, crackly bone-in pieces and wings, which surpassed even my initial expectations. The food was screaming hot, yet lacking any feeling of greasiness or heaviness. My friend J. remarked that the sauces stuck well to the skin, which in turn stuck well to the meat, ensuring a cohesive mix of each layer with every bite. The favorite among us was the soy garlic flavor, though none disappointed. Do note that most of the "cool" flavors (e.g. honey garlic, Gangnam, and cheesling) are only available for wings or boneless preparations, and not the split whole chicken. Parking in the strip mall is a piece of cake, and until Bonchon opens in Midtown it'll be the closest KFC spot for me. I'll definitely be back to try the lunch specials and maybe sample all the wing flavors!

Yelp
We grabbed some takeout from BB.Q Chicken, and it was fantastic! I've had Korean fried chicken from many places in Houston, and this place probably has the best! The chicken is perfectly fried, very crispy, and juicy. My personal favorite flavor was the honey garlic wings. The sauce was quite sweet, but not too overwhelming. The only downside was the fries weren't very crispy at all. Overall, I had a pleasant take out experience. I can't wait to be back to try the other flavors. The Gangnam flavor looks really good!

Yelp
Great service and intro by the lady at the front. - 1 spicy galbi chicken cupbob : great flavor, different from usual wings chain, good balance of rice and chicken portions, not sure what the couple of pieces of lettuce are for but overall nice! Great fried crunches. $10 + $1 dollar for that spicy galbi version. - 1 order of sweet potato fries. Came out fresh and warm. A little too oily. But I cannot justify the $7 cost per order. Is it where they make the most profit? I'm not sure. This amount is astronomical for what it is! Not recommended at all. The location has got a wide space for the waiting area, dine in and outdoor seating. Overall okay.

Yelp
Hm... I love chicken. I think most people know that. Fried chicken?.?? Bruh. LOVE. Korean fried chicken?!?!? I'm dead. But this place gets a 3. First thing. No welcoming staff. It was dead. We basically sat ourself because they weren't doing nothing. Soddeukk. The sausage was good. The rice cake was crispy. The sauce was too sweet. I was hoping it would be more spicy. Spicy galbi wings.i wish it was spicier. But it gave me this crazy nostalgic feel. It was like the chicken wings my parents used to get from Hmart as a kid. The wings were super crunchy. Very impressed by the crunch. The Gangnam style wings was basically sweet soy sauce with veggies. No crunch. The taste was ok. It was fine overall. But it didn't wow me.

Yelp
I came here with my boyfriend to try their korean fried chicken since we had seen another friend rave about this place! We came on a Thursday night and they weren't very busy. Upon entering there wasn't a host but the lady behind the counter encouraged us to take any seat at any open table that wasn't marked to keep social distancing. She brought us menus and then asked for our drink orders. I ordered a melona slushie and my boyfriend ordered a dark beer. The melona slushie was a melona ice cream bar in a glass with 7 up cider and the waitress suggested I swirl the ice cream bar around and it would make a slushie. We ordered 3 different types of wings, the Large order was 2 sauces which was Spicy and Gangnam Style and then a small order of the Soy Garlic Wings. a small order was about 9 pieces and the large was 18 pieces which also came with a side of pickled daikon radishes. The soy garlic wings were definitely my favorite for a classic flavor. The wings were super crispy with each bite. The gangnam flavor was my boyfriend and I's least favorite because it was noted to be spicy was really wasn't spicy at all. The spicy was enjoyable but not spicy at all either and we thought it would have been a korean spicy but it only gave me a small tingle on my lips. Service was good though. With us being the only customers sitting in, we saw several people enter who had called to-go orders but this place would be good for small groups to enjoy a good meal and beer together! I would be interested in coming again for that crispy chicken and try their hottest flavor to see really how spicy it is!

Yelp
Super yummy Korean fried chicken! We ordered the original golden and hot spicy. Both flavors were super yummy and they were still crispy after ~15min drive home. Hot spicy wasn't crazy hot as we expected but definitely packs enough heat. We placed the order on the phone and it was ready after 15min. Super quick convenient. We'll definitely return for more!

Yelp
For Korean fried chicken it's not the best I've had but it wasn't the worst either. The chicken had good flavor. But the kimchi fried rice did not. My food was ready for pick up when so got there so the service was good. The atmosphere inside was pretty quiet.

Yelp
I finally got to try this place after hearing so much about it and seeing it in kdramas like "Crash Landing On You" hahaha. I came here on a weekday at lunch and got the lunch special, which includes your choice of flavored fried chicken and a drink. I got soy garlic, which was really good (5/5)! It was fried to a perfect consistency that was just crispy enough and was super tender and juicy inside. I will definitely be coming back to try out other flavors! My friend and I also tried the bulgogi fries (4/5). The fries were a little soggy and the cheese was all melted into 1 big clump. I was hoping there would be another sauce like spicy mayo on top of the fries or something and I think the cheese should've been more scattered throughout the fries instead of just melted as one big clump on top.
