The service and food are good. They sometimes run out of options. We had the middle AYCE option. The marinated choice ribs were great. The side dishes and the other non-marinated options were also good. Recently, I’ve had bad luck with some AYCE meat places where some of the meat would taste or smell bad. The prices are great. This place was good. The main downside is the smokey air as the exhaust system is pretty weak.

Google
Korean barbeque was good, not great, they have a salad bar that you are able to self serve for all you can eat. Service is a little challenging since I see two people for the whole restaurant, I liked that the quantity is immense, not no little plate and the quality is adequate. Good prices, I would go again for the deals, lunch is better with happy hour specials.

1. There were a lot of meat options, and I love the options in the self-serve area! 2. The spot has fun casual vibes with a huge interior! 3. The staff were friendly and attentive! Note: You can request ice cream at the end (1 per person) Photo: Marinated LA Ribs, Marinated Rib Fingers, and Beef Belly

Google
Service was excellent. Seats are fat friendly with plenty of space between the table and the chair. There is a self-serve area that has meats you can cook and also raw items ready to eat. The menu has 3 tiers, we got the Gold Tier and it was worth it for the LA marinated ribs. So flavorful and tender! The full steak also came with seasoning. Some of the meat was more chewy with cheaper cuts, but overall pretty good. The marinated pork shoulder, marinated beef bulgogi, and LA marinated ribs were my favorite. The corn cheese was just okay. The restroom was clean and smelled nice. Parking lot is spacious. Overall great place. Doesn't feel cramped like other kbbq places.

Google
We went there during Friday lunch and took advantage of the Happy Hour special. The self-serve banchan bar has several side dishes, soup, Korean fried chicken, salad, and fresh fruit. Although the meat selection for the Happy Hour special was limited, all the meat we ordered was fresh and tasty, and the service was good. The only complaint I have about this place is the poor ventilation in the dining room. I definitely recommend this restaurant, and I hope the ventilation issue will be resolved soon.

Google
The vibes are really nice! The meats are really fresh and having the self bar just makes this place perfect. It’s my 2nd time here and I know I’ll be coming back.

Google
Great experience and amazing customer service. We were treated very professionally when we walked through the door. Food was fresh and delicious. Highly recommended!

Google
Came here for lunch, $19.99 in this economy is amazing pricing. Everything is clean and it’s very classic kbbq style. I loved the beef belly and the quality of meat here is actually good with the pricing. Very impressed with the service too, they’re sweet!

Yelp
This was our first time coming to this restaurant and it exceeded our expectations! The food was great! The service and staff even better! We will be coming back! A big thank you to the staff for making the experience amazing!

Yelp
Came to BBQ Chung Dam on a Tuesday with friends and overall had a good meal. The self-serve bar had some tasty items like glass noodles, corn cheese, and fried rice, and the service was fast and attentive for a weekday night despite being understaffed -- only two servers for a nearly full restaurant. They stayed upbeat and did their best, but it did cause some delays and forgetfulness. I ordered the gold menu ($38.99) and really enjoyed the prime sirloin, LA ribs, beef tongue, and jowl. Frequent grill changes, some soju and beer -- I was in Korean BBQ heaven! The ice cream dessert was just okay though. That said, the place was pretty hot inside, making it a bit uncomfortable. The meat quality was average -- typical for a KBBQ with a self-serve bar. Unfortunately, the banchan (side dishes) and hot foods seemed old and left out too long, which was disappointing. If it's your first Korean BBQ experience, this might be a decent option, but in Garden Grove, there are definitely better choices.

Yelp
Quality of meat was great for the price, the options on the buffet were perfect for our family. They have different tiers to choose from and we chose the most basic one since our kids mostly eat chadol (brisket) and bulgogi only. Kids also loved the options of all you can eat fried chicken, japchae (glass noodles), odeng (fish cake) and soup from the buffet. Our party of 12 surprisingly was accommodated within minutes after we arrived on a Saturday (with a Yelp reservation made only 10 min prior to that). The manager came twice to make sure we had everything we needed, was so nice and attentive to details (didn't allow the server to turn on the burner closest to our baby cousin for precaution). The only thing I was bummed about was the fact that we had to pay for steamed eggs (which typically is part of a Kr bbq experience). They also gave each one of us a choice of 4 flavors of ice cream - they are pre servings of soft ice cream in a cup - I chose the coffee flavour and was not disappointed !

Yelp
Saw the viral video for $19.99 happy hour special ayce bbq and buffet. Which is mon they fri from 11:30am to 3pm I believe. My friend and I went right at opening and people started to come in. We got seated right away, once seated the restaurant started getting packed really quick. So the $19.99 happy hour special basically has brisket, beef belly and bugogi for your beef choices and some pork and chicken option. It's a small list of meat options since the price is low. There's also a buffet bar with banchan sides and some appetizers. The fried kobacha pumpkin was good and the fired wings. I wasn't impressed with the banchan, some lacked flavor and some just were not that good. They had radish wraps but had no flavor, it was like eating plane radish. The kimchee was horrible tasting. I only eat beef so we ordered few brisket and beef belly which were fine, I actually liked their bugogi it was seasoned just perfectly and tender. I wish I knew I would have ordered a lot of it but I ordered it last since I like to maximize the grill and eat the non marinated meats first. The $19.99 price was good for the food you got, was it great no was it decent yes. My only complaint was the radish wrap sucked no flavor and the banchan was not that great. They also had some typical from a store bought fried pot stickers and sesame balls filled with red bean. Overall I'd say for the price it was decent. Nothing spectacular. There's plenty of parking that was no issues since it's in a large plaza.

Yelp
Selection of meat is good, service is fast and friendly. Hot and cold side dishes are fresh. We really enjoyed our meal but will definitely wait until the weather is cooler to come back. Over all a delicious enjoyable meal.

Yelp
Happy hour lunch was $19.99 per person (it's only on Mon-Fri between 11:30am-3pm). Main meats from the kitchen are brisket, beef belly, and pork belly, and they were all good. My favorite of the three was the beef belly, especially since they were fatty and very thinly sliced. I tried honeycombed sliced pork and marinated abomasum from the self-serve bar, too. Sliced pork was tasty, especially dabbed with some salt. Abomasum was a tough chunk of organ meat that was interesting to try, but I wasn't a fan of the sweet, bulgogi-like marinade. Buffet bar had a variety of foods, like potstickers and fried rice. I sampled a braised rib, a sesame ball, and an onion ring to cleanse my palate from all the beef belly I was downing, and they were ok. Nothing made me want to to back for seconds, though. Standard banchan minus the radish paper, but I didn't ask if they had it. Sauces and condiments were provided at our table; it's nice to know that we could top ourselves off whenever. Interior was bright and clean, and thankfully not stuffy or sticky. Waitress was straightforward and helped us get right down to business for meat orders. She was also very attentive about grill changes and clearing away empty plates. We also got individually packaged vanilla ice cream cups after our meal, so that was much appreciated. Plenty of parking in this old Garden Grove plaza. I'd definitely come back for the happy hour lunch.

Yelp
Party of 6 dinning here for birthday celebration. Surprisingly, for a Friday evening, the restaurant was not busy, and there was no wait. We were seated quickly. We orders the middle grade AYCE. The waiters were very quick to bring out the meats. They refrigerated our cake for us. Nice staff. Great service.

Yelp
Great value kbbq, they offer 3 different sets if you want better/different meats but honestly at the time we really just wanted brisket/beef belly/pork belly so we opted for the cheapest set. They also have a decently sized buffet where you can get hot foods as well as other raw foods to cook on your grill.

Yelp
Came on a Thursday night but the place was severely understaffed. There were only 2 servers with a nearly full restaurant but so it took a while for them to come around and it was easy for them to forget things. With that being said, they remained upbeat and did the best they could I think. It was also pretty hot in there so it made for an uncomfortable experience. Meat quality wasn't the best but it's pretty much what you can expect for a kbbq with a self service bar. Banchan (side dishes) and hot foods were not good at all as they seemed old and left out for a very long time. It may be a good option if it's your first kbbq experience but if not, it's garden grove, there's other options.

Yelp
This + your friend that does all the work cooking Brisket (ofc)- this was absolutely incredible! The brisket was so tender and flavorful. It literally melted in your mouth and you could taste the quality of the meat immediately. Cooked to perfection! Kobe Boneless Short Rib- this was pure luxury! The Kobe beef was unreal - so buttery and rich with incredible marbling. Every bite was like butter and you could definitely taste why Kobe is so special. The flavor was so deep and complex. Marinated Short Ribs- these were so good! The marinade was perfect with just the right balance of sweet and savory flavors. The meat was tender and the marinade had amazing flavor throughout. I loved how it caramelized on the grill. Everything was so good and we loved their sides too!! The banchan was fresh and flavorful with such a great variety. Each side dish complemented the meats perfectly and the kimchi was perfectly fermented with that ideal spicy-sour taste. The service was incredible despite them being very busy The staff was so attentive and helpful, making sure our grill was perfect and giving great recommendations about the different cuts. The quality of the meats was also amazing - you could tell they source premium ingredients and really care about what they're serving. Every cut was beautifully marbled. Thank you @bbqchungdam for such a comforting meal and amazing dinner! This was exactly what we needed - great food, great company, and such a warm atmosphere. Can't wait to come back! Yelp
Had a great meal with friends here. When a kbbq has self serve, I feel like the quality of the meats isn't as good but I didn't experience that here. The self serve bar had some good items like glass noodles, corn cheese, and fried rice and the service was fast and attentive on a weekday night. I had the gold menu ($38.99) and the prime sirloin, LA ribs, beef tongue, and jowl were all fantastic. Frequent grill changes, some soju and beer.. I was in heaven! The ice cream at the end was so so but overall great meal.

Yelp
On a Saturday 11:30am, my family was 2nd group to eat here. The interior is similar to traditional architecture. The staff are nice and took us to the booth across from the banchan area. I was impressed that this location has no paper plates. My favorite banchan item was The fried chicken. It wasn't oily or greasy and it was really good, beef on bone soup was good too. We picked gold tier $34.99 and picked 3 meats-brisket. Steak, and galbi. The marinade on the beef was really good which makes it tender. The second round on prime bulgogi and pork belly was good too. I ate too much and I save room on The watermelon slices and pineapple pieces which was sweet and juicy. I ate 3 refills of fruit. The staff are nice and stopped by to cut our meats and change our grills several times. At the end, we got small cups of vanilla ice cream. It got breezy so the smoke hit my face. Overall very good ayce Korean bbq. I like this location over the Koreatown location,

Yelp
We are still frequent guests of this place since they opened. However I have to come back and remove a star for moving some of the best meats to the kitchen instead of the buffet. pros: it's good AYCE kbbq for a decent price with a buffet. cons: they filled the buffet with marinated meats and grill toppings like corn cheese, garlic, and mushrooms. they moved excellent unmarinated options to the kitchen, meaning i am at the mercy of the employees to get it for me.

Yelp
Special shoutout to Jennifer and Julia for our nights! They were phenomenal the entire night. I came here with my group of coworkers for our holiday dinner. Both of them were very attentive whenever they interacted with us. We rarely had to ask for anything because they would beat us to it. Need a grill change? They got us. Oh did want another bottle of soju? They got too! More water? Already on the table before we realized it needed refilling. They are truly the mvp of the night! As I mention before, this place is buffer style with a variety to choose from. Every time I do come, I notice improvements in the option! For example, they actually make the pork belly thicker (reference to my last review). And now they offer pork jowls and pig skin too! I don't know many places that offer that WITH the basic menu. Most of the time you have to tier up, but nope not here! While most of the options you can self serve, there are specific cuts and meats you would have to order from the kitchen. We felt like the basic menu was more than enough do to all that was offered for the buffet but definitely take a gander at what the other menu tiers offer! I can't wait to be back. See you soon Jennifer and Julia (and the BBQ Chung Dam team).

Yelp
The restaurant looks very clean and the servers are very friendly. The quality of meats and self serve buffet are good. They have 3 pricing structures on the weekend and we chose GOLD FOR around $40 . With tax and tip, 5 people total are $250. Really enjoyed the meat and we were never rushed. Beef short ribs are my favorite . Parking is plenty.
google avatar

Yelp
really solid kbbq spot -- fire cuts and top tier service we got the diamond AYCE and everything came out fast and fresh. the meat quality was noticeable -- buttery marbling on the galbi, tender brisket, and their seasoned cuts were packed with flavor. salad bar was stocked, banchan stayed refilled, and the steamed egg + doenjang were a nice touch service was on point. sally took care of us the whole time and made the experience 10x better -- super attentive, fast with refills, and honestly just so sweet if you're down to splurge a little and want a kbbq spot with high-end cuts and great vibes, this one's worth it

Maria G.

Yelp
Quality is good but not great. Service was good as well. I would definitely say this is not the greatest kkbq we have tried. However, we did enjoy the self serve bar as there was no need to wait for items. Certain self serve items that were supposed to be warm were cold so overall the experience was just good.
google avatar

Mare M.

Yelp
Very good quality meat! Server had good suggestions of meat that we should try. Wagyu beef belly, khalbi, rib eye steak and much more. Lot of sides to choose from as well!
google avatar

Andy V.

Yelp
1. I like how you can order the good meats from the server, and then you can check out the buffet area for basic meats and sides! 2. The spot has fun casual vibes! 3. They only have indoor seatings available! 4. The servers are amazing and will do a lot of grill changes! 5. Parking lot is huge, so it easy to find parking! Note: They give ice cream at the end! Marinated LA ribs 5. Prime beef tongue 6. Steamed eggs 7. Bean paste stew 8. Calf intestine 9. Seasoned octopus 10. Pork cheek 11. Side dishes: tteokbokki, fried cake 12. Vanilla ice cream

Yelp
We tried their Silver and their meats were great! With the 5 meats "cut per order" it was perfect for our dinner. I enjoyed the self-serve meat selections, along with the other small dishes. Price was great, restaurant is clean, and most importantly, staff was friendly.
google avatar

Trinity N.

Yelp
this KBBQ spot has great variety and service! I loved the convenience of being able to grab select meats from their cold station. their hot food station had lots of variety like kimchi stew and tteokboki. the service here is amazing. not only will they change your grill often, they will frequently stop by to ask if you would like to order any meats or refill any side dishes. the entire restaurant has booth style seating that can fit up to max 6 guests. I do not recommend this restaurant for large parties as we saw many families split up for that exact reason.
google avatar

Elle S.

Yelp
This place is seriously a hidden gem during the weekday! We came in for the Happy Hour special and for just $19.99, it felt like we hit the jackpot. The meat was fresh, well-marinated, and grilled up beautifully. We especially loved the spicy pork and soy garlic shrimp--the flavor was BOMB.COM But wait, the self bar?! That took things to another level. They had everything from fried dumplings and Korean-style fried chicken to veggie noodles and kimchi pancakes. Every bite was packed with flavor, and the variety kept it exciting. Good food with good service with Aaron. I will surely be coming back.

Yelp
If you are looking for a Korean bbq spot to try in the Orange County Area ! Must check out BBQ Chung Dam ! The food was great enjoyed every bite of it ! I love that they have a salad bar where you can get whatever you need that isn't from their kitchen ! I love how quick and fast the service here . Upon arrival you are seated right away and they make it soo much easier to join the wait list through Yelp which I highly recommend doing before coming here . It's like making a quick reservation while you are on the way to the place just put ur name on the waitlist and you will be seated right away! They are also super nice here and very helpful . Everyone is helping people with whatever they need . Definitely makes you feel really welcome! I will definitely come back here again in the future ! Thank you bbq Chung Dam for an amazing meal and experience!

Yelp
I came for happy hour, which starts at 11:30 AM, Monday through Friday, and ordered the brisket and prime beef belly. It's worth the $20, especially if you're craving brisket. The sauce is already on the table, so no need to ask the waitress. The two ladies working were kind and attentive. Just a heads-up, you'll need to order the meat through the waitress, so let them know when they come by. The side dishes were also pretty good. Overall, I'm satisfied; the price definitely justifies the meal.

Yelp
Great food and service also good variety of food options Not as smoky as other bbq places clean and you can breath in there

Yelp
What I Ordered: Diamond Tier AYCE ($58.99) Food: I got to try the Diamond Tier AYCE menu, which is the highest tier at the restaurant. It comes with KOBE Boneless Beef Short Ribs, Prime Sirloin, and LA Ribs, which are basically the highest cuts of meat you can get at a Korean Barbeque restaurant. All of the meats overall were good quality. I'm pretty sensitive to old meat taste, and I was thankful to find that they didn't have any. The waiter recommended the KOBE Boneless Beef Short Ribs, so we started off with that. It was definitely great quality for an All You Can Eat BBQ spot. I like to eat these cuts of meat with just salt, nothing more and nothing less, and it was delicious. My personal favorite was the Raw LA Ribs and Choice Marinated LA Ribs, which I absolutely loved. The quality of meat they had for these ribs were absolutely incredible, on par with and maybe even better than a la carte KBBQ restaurants. I was surprised at how the Raw LA Ribs melted in my mouth like butter, again especially from an all you can eat spot. With how much I loved the Raw LA Ribs, I had to try the Marinated LA Ribs and they were delicious as well. If I go back, I would personally choose the Gold Tier AYCE for $38.99 for the Raw LA Ribs and Choice Marinated LA Ribs. Service: The servers were attentive and friendly. Many of the meat options are available as a buffet style, so you can grab your own meats. The more premium cuts tend to be kitchen order only, so make sure to order a lot from that part of the menu too! Ambiance: All around woody interior design. I love woody designs as in my opinion it gives off a more premium ambiance and energy. Parking lot is shared with other shops in the plaza, but there are plenty of seats available.

Yelp
Wanted to check out a new place and wowww!! This place is good. The radish is so light and refreshing and the lady was so nice she gave us two plates of it. The beef belly is definitely the highlight. Not really fatty like a lot of places and just melts in your mouth. You also get a free soda for checking-in on yelp!
google avatar

Stephanie T.

Yelp
The place was very updated I like the decor . The waiters were very nice I like that also . The menu was very simple not too crazy . Wish there was more variety to be honest because for the price we pay . The bar was simple not too crazy either . Again not much variety to choose from wish there was more would I go again no to be honest. My first time here and I saw the reviews so I wanted to give it a try and see how this goes . I give 3 for the customer service they were very helpful.

Yelp
For any AYCE place, the meat quality is pretty darn good. We went with the top tier, Diamond, and if you do the same you can't leave without ordering the first three options: prime boneless beef short ribs, big beef galbi, and prime beef brisket. They kept advertising the big beef galbi on the TV screen which is what sold us in the first place. The presentation of the meats was beautiful and the marbling made them even prettier. Even if you don't get this tier, there were a lot of meat options from the meat bar that I really liked too including the pork jowl and bulgogi. Speaking of the self-serve bar, I couldn't get enough of the spicy rice cakes, or tteokbokki, with fish cake. It was kept hot which made the slightly spicy sauce even better and it was the perfect chewy texture. I had to hold myself back from eating more. I also got some japchae, glass noodles, corn cheese, and sesame balls on the side; none of which disappointed me. The sesame balls were more like a dessert for me until I found out they had ice cream. It comes pre-packaged in a small sauce container which is perfect because I needed to practice self-control after eating so much meat. The ladies working there were so kind. They helped us cook the meat, showed us different ways of assembling ssam, and even taught us that grilling kimchi and bean sprouts is a great way to eat the banchan too. I loved the hospitality and the food so it's a great place to stop by if you're craving kbbq.
google avatar

Mitchell N.

Yelp
Food was actually very good! I was surprised for how much you get even at the Silver Tier - great flavor of sauces and wide range of food to get from! Service was great and the lady was very sweet to give us extra ice cream! Decorations were pretty basic and nothing crazy - but who focuses on the place than the food? Definitely recommend and again best bang for your buck!

Yelp
From the moment you pull in, the experience is smooth -- they have a large parking lot with plenty of parking, which already sets the tone for a stress-free night out. Inside, the place is clean and spacious with a huge variety of self-serve items -- everything from banchan (side dishes), sauces, and fresh veggies to noodles and rice dishes. It's honestly impressive how much they offer, and you can tell everything is kept fresh and well-stocked. The quality of the meat is amazing -- tender, flavorful, and cooked just right on the grill. Whether you're into brisket, pork belly, or marinated galbi, they've got you covered. The staff is super friendly and attentive, always checking in without being overbearing. You really feel taken care of, which makes a big difference in an all-you-can-eat setting. If you're looking for a delicious, no-stress, high-quality Korean BBQ experience with great service and tons of food options, BBQ Chung Dam is 100% worth it. I'll definitely be back soon!

Yelp
Bro and I opted for the silver menu. Beef belly is better than the brisket. My brother agreed that it was a bit chewy from the second order. The self serve bar did have a good selection of meats, Fried rice, egg rolls, jap chae, etc. Fried chicken wings were a hit! Ate 5 pieces as the batter is cooked with the right spices and crunch of the batter. Service is great as the ladies often checked in and assisted in manning the grill. No problems as grill changes were performed when needed. Steamed egg was provided to each person which was nice as other places tend not to do that. Free soda with YELP checkin! Was provided second helping of water jug without having to ask which is +

Yelp
This is definitely a go to kbbq place if you love beef tongue! My friend and I only ordered beef tongue, galbi and marinated beef finger but each meat was so good! Services is quick and the place seems relatively empty right now. I've gone there twice around lunch time and haven't had to wait.
google avatar

Anita L.

Yelp
We came for lunch on a weekday and they were not busy so we got the best service ever. There are three tiers but we were content with the lowest $24.99 (the next level is $34.99, followed by one that's $50+). I don't eat much meat so I ate a lot of the banchan and also some of the large marinated shrimp (I prefer if it's not marinated). You can also order steamed egg and bean paste soup. The ladies who served us were super nice. At the end of the meal, they give you vanilla ice cream.
google avatar

Emi K.

Yelp
This is so far my favorite kbbq spot! What is particularly memorable about this spot is the additional all you can eat items you can get! The silver level is good enough. I think we did diamond both times we've come and we mostly stick to the brisket and the pork belly cuts which can be achieved with the silver level.
google avatar

Brook Sarah Y.

Yelp
this place is SO good. the service here is top notch, i'd come here again just because the service is so so good. parking was easy, price is fair, food is good! there's a fried chicken, tteokbokki, fried rice, etc available for self serve as well as corn cheese! free vanilla ice cream at the end!
google avatar

Laleen K.

Yelp
I was really surprised by this place! I brought some friends to this place because we were nearby, we went during lunchtime, and it was under $30 a person for their lunch special. The portions were pretty small, but it is AYCE, so we did not mind. The servers were really attentive towards our table. The restaurant wasn't too busy when we went, but it felt like we had the salad bar to ourselves! The service salad bar had corn cheese which was a nice addition!
google avatar

Gerico S.

Yelp
BBQ Chungdam offers three different options, starting at just $24.99--such a great deal! Their beef belly and boneless short rib are top tier and absolutely a must-try. They also have a convenient self-serve bar for meats and sides, plus a kitchen menu. Definitely go for the corn cheese to dip your BBQ in--it's a game-changer!

Yelp
I came here to try their happy hour and their parking was very open. There was lots of spaces. We were welcome by the staff and seated immediately. I went here on a Friday at lunchtime. I found out they their happy hour was 19.99 and that they have plenty of options at the self-serve bar. Everything looks like it's great quality and I'm coming back here again.

Yelp
BBQ Chung Dam always has the best service and marinated LA short ribs! I love to go eat here as they have a self serve bar that includes more meat and appetizers like Tteokbokki and my favorite corn cheese! They are quick in grill changes and bringing out your meat plus refilling side sides. I would recommend the meat on the menu though! It is a nice restaurant that feels authentic.

Yelp
Took the fam bam here since I've had this place bookmarked for awhile. One thing that strikes me is apart from other kbbq places: no obnoxious loud music and airy bright interior We got seated few minutes into the wait. The table before us had 8 teenage boys, I'm sure they ate their money's worth. We tried out their silver (cheapest) pkg here. If you're here by 3pm I believe is $25. BTW with tax and tip already included on the final bill expect to pay $125 for a party of four. They automatically put the 15 percent tip under the service charge section. As for the food, you can try the beef belly and brisket as well as the bean stew and egg pot from the kitchen. I didn't really love my eggpot because it was so watery. The beef belly took a while to cook. We seemed to have a grill that only worked 1/2 of the side. It was fine, just took a little longer. We also got a few other marinated meats and pork belly from the ayce bar section. They do advise you eat on disposal plate for hot food and raw meat on real plates. That was slightly confusing. Moreover at the food bar, there were no labels on what the meat is. So the marinated meats all look kind of the same. We pretty much skipped most of it. The best thing here I ate was the cooked beef ribs. They were tender and tasty and I went back for seconds. Their fried chicken weren't bad either but I much prefer the koko chicken in the same plaza. The banchan here tasted store bought. The kimchi tasted like a brand I've bought at hmart. It's decent but doesn't give you the oomph you get with homemade fermented kimchi. The table has 2 sauces one chili and this other a spicy vinegar sauce that I preferred. When we were almost done I noticed they had 2 other sauces they were pouring. I did wish I knew earlier, so now hopefully you do too. Service here is odd. I would ask for water, the guy nods, takes my empty bottle and never came back. The lady I asked for beef belly repeats what I wanted and also never came back until I told her again 10 minutes later. So this meal for us, it was a lot of waiting. Waiting for water, for food, and for the grill to get hot. It wasn't quite the experience I was looking for, nor some of the food that I'm not sure what I was eating at the bar. I hope they would read this review and tweak some of these changes. It would make all the difference.

Yelp
Food We got the silver menu, meaning we only got the option of Beef bristket and and belly and for only 24.99, I would say is a really good price. Aside from the raw meat they bring to you upon ordering, they also have the buffet style selection with cooked food, other raw meat and seafood, etc. They also have the typical banchan(korean sides) all.of which were pretty good. The brisket and belly were really good qulaity and but the meat from the buffet section was just okay. I would say for the price I would recommend this place and definitely come back Service/Ambiance At around 12nn on a sunday, there weren't that many people and i liked the overall vibe of the place. The staff were really nice and service was fast too.

Yelp
Another kbbq spot has opened in GG's Koreatown! I saw the raving reviews about this spot on Yelp and Tik Tok and knew I had to come check it out. This spot is located in a plaza with a good amount of parking spots. My party came for dinner a little before 6pm and we were seated right away. We opted for the silver menu ($29.99 per person). They have a buffet section where you can get fried foods, side dishes, seafood, pork, and beef. We went in on the brisket and beef belly and those two did not disappoint! Overall, the reviews were definitely spot on with this place. The staff are extremely efficient and quick while also being very welcoming and accommodating. What separates this spot from other kbbq places in the area is that it is spacious, has good ventilation, and has fresh to order meats!

Yelp
I dropped by BBQ Chung Dam during their Happy Hour, and wow--it's easily one of the best values in all of Koreatown. For just $19.99, you get great quality meats plus full access to a seriously impressive self bar. From the food to the service, everything exceeded expectations. The meats were flavorful and fresh--especially the spicy pork and pork belly, which grilled beautifully. The self bar was loaded with delicious sides like glass noodles, fried dumplings, soy garlic chicken, and more. Honestly, it felt more like a premium dinner experience than a typical Happy Hour. What made it even better was the service. Jackie and Ryan were both incredibly friendly and attentive. They made sure we were always taken care of, helped us switch out the grill at the perfect times, and were just genuinely kind and welcoming. That level of service really elevates the entire dining experience. If you're thinking about trying it--do it. Happy Hour here is more than worth it. I'll definitely be back (probably often!).

Yelp
We walked in on a Tuesday afternoon for lunch. It was nice and ready for us. Lots of seating and lots of room to eat. I really enjoyed the salad bar they had open for us. Such amazing varieties of food to choose from. We went with the silver package and gobbled up our Brisket! The bean soup is delicious and the tofu is so darn tasty!! I really enjoyed this location and all it has to offer. The wait staff was super friendly and they were super attentive! If you decide to go, try everything at the Salad Bar, you will not be disappointed!!

Yelp
Another AYCE Korean BBQ spot in Garden Grove... except this one has a self service bar that includes meats to be cooked. I was really hesitant to come here originally because I was afraid Chung Dam would be like all the others. I was convinced by my husband on a weekend for lunch. When we arrived there was no wait but it was pretty busy. Weird because their parking lot didn't look busy at all. We were nicely greeted and given a large table for just us two. We were given a variety of banchan. I noticed that they had 3 types of menu (silver- $30, gold- $39, and diamond- $59). We went with their gold menu since it included tongue which is what we mostly wanted. We enjoyed most of their meats and were great for the price. At the self service bar they had marinated and non-marinated meats. They also had different hot foods including fried rice, noodles, egg rolls, more fried items, and some dessert. At the end of your meal you can ask for some of their vanilla ice cream. I can't say I'm in love with their self service bar but I do appreciate the different options. Service was great. They changed our grill a few times and checked up on us constantly. Everything also came out pretty quick. The inside is pretty large. It's great for small or large parties.

Yelp
After seeing so many rave reviews of this new KBBQ spot, I finally got to try it! The interior felt bright, spacious, and clean. Peppy staff frequently changed our grill. Unfortunately, the food wasn't as great as it was hyped up to be.  Going off the Gold Tier menu, our favorite cuts include the Marinated Ribs and Choice Marinated LA Ribs - They're tender, sweet, and savory! The buffet bar stocked a variety of noodles, rice cakes, fried items, corn cheese, veggies, & raw meat and seafood - Not the best quality, but okay. I think having labels in the raw section would be beneficial for less experienced KBBQ patrons.  Our dinner ended on a sweet note with vanilla and chocolate ice cream. (1 cup per person)
