For years I have been passing this place by, even after getting a recommendation from a friend. That all changed recently as I finally gave it a try. Inside the place is clean and looks nice. You order at a counter and they bring the food to you. The menu was large with plenty of choices. I stopped for breakfast and sure glad I did. The service was fast and friendly. The food came out hot and fresh. Biscuits were huge and tasted very good. Light and airy cooked just right. Hash browns were nice and crispy without being oily. Portion sizes were good. Over all I would highly recommend this place for breakfast. Pictured is a steak egg and cheese biscuit combo. Tasted even better than it looks!

Not too bad. Not too great. Large portions(?) on small plates. Tasted good but the onion rings had no discernable onion...kind like looped hush puppies.

Hi My Googles!! Wow!! This Place Is Absolutely Super Fantastic!! Mel Who Looked Like A Movie Star In Character For A Movie And Her Staff Are So Sweet, Endearing, And Considerate. Outstandingly Friendly. From The Moment I Entered To Leaving. And The Food Was Super Tasty 😋 And Fresh. They Give You More Than Your 🤑 Money Can Buy. I wouldn't Waste Not One Dime On Any Fast Food Breakfast Like Mc Donald's, Wendy, Taco Bell, Burger 👑!! Not Even Cracker Barrell Can Compare To Them!! They Get 💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯And Then Some!! And Plenty of Room to Dine In or The Drive -Thru. Plus, They Make You Feel That Good Ole Southern Hospitality That Is So Missing In Today's World. Thank You Mel And Company For Treating This Senior Disabled Woman With The Upmost Dignity And Respect. I Will Be A Lifetime Customer!!🥰😍🤩

Stoppee in onbour travels back home to south louisiana. I had a brisket plate with mac and cheese and fried okra and capt tom had a turkey plate. Everything was excellent. Brisket was nice and smokey, super juicy, and tender. Paired that with either their house sauce or the spicy sauce and you are in for a real treat. The sides were good, but the real star of the show was those hush puppies shaped like onion rings. Man o man were those good. Especially with a little of that spicey sauce on em. Highly recommend.

Google
We love the coarse chopped barbecue, always delicious and moist. The banana pudding was so good, we got a quart serving to go with our barbecue. And I got a small order of hush puppies to eat on the way home. SO GOOD! Crispy on the outside and so moist on the inside. They tasted like dessert to me. My new favorite hush puppies.

The cashier must have been new ,she was not very good at communicating and had to ask others almost every question we ask her plus she was preoccupied with something other than her customers 🙄 she made us feel like we was just annoying her 🤨 but the food was great 😋

Google
Best steak biscuit I've had since Carter Bros shutdown... but sleeping on this place frfr The service was great, the staff was very friendly, and the food... that was amazing! Biscuit wasn't hard, the steak patty was the bomb, and the hashbrown... don't skip em. Low key best breakfast spot for a biscuit, no cap!

Google
Everything we had was delicious! We love their hamburger steak with gravy and the green beans with bacon were cooked perfectly and were so tasty! And I hate to say this but their sweet potato casserole is better than mine! I was sad when I took my last bite!

Yelp
I remember trying - and liking - BBQ Joe's not long after moving to High Point, which makes it puzzling that I haven't been a more frequent visitor. Like most self-respecting barbecue joints, BBQ Joe's lets the food do the talking: the dining area is strictly utilitarian. They keep busy here, but the staff are very efficient, and you won't be waiting long for anything. While BBQ Joe's serves up the chopped or pulled pork that is synonymous with the Tarheel State, don't go looking for the classic Lexington-style experience. They have a variety of sauces as well as ribs, chicken, smoked turkey, and brisket. Stop in before 11, and you can feast on a variety of biscuits. For my most recent visit, I picked up a chopped brisket sandwich with white slaw, a side of hushpuppies, and a banana pudding. The food was prepped quickly and brought out with a smile. The brisket couldn't touch what I had in Texas, but for High Point, it was definitely respectable. Though not as smokey as I would have hoped for, the meat was tender, and the sandwich held plenty of it. That said, the house Joe's sauce runs a bit sweet, and you might want to add a dash of something spicier. While the ring-shaped hushpuppies were addictively crispy and delicious, the banana pudding rated as tasty but unremarkable. BBQ Joe's is a reliable option for good food and fast service. You can find better barbecue if you're inclined to travel, but for High Point proper, this is it.

Yelp
Friendly enough environment, upon walking in felt welcomed in good customer service. We ordered a three meat platter, brisket, both chopped and sliced, and the jalapeño sausage was all very good, giving a four-star because the sides were less than great (Mac/baked beans) were simple and felt store bought with a bit of extra sauce (tomato type sauce w/ beans) or milk (for the Mac) but the banana pudding save the day. So between the meats and the dessert, certainly worth four stars but with the sides not really meeting the mark IMO, they gotta stick with three. It's what you would expect for fast food style barbecue However at $57 for two meals, and1x dessert, it wasn't fast food prices.

Yelp
Made a quick stop here with friends as they were visiting in town and looking for some barbecue! We were looking for burnt ends, but didn't find anywhere close by that served this specifically so we stumbled upon BBQ Joe's which had very good reviews. The staff was very friendly and answered the questions we had about portion size, etc. we were all very happy with what we got and everything tasted delicious, even the sides! As for the atmosphere, it's a pretty fast casual place, so don't expect anything crazy but just a quick stop and go place.

Yelp
Very good BBQ ... didn't like the vinegar in the bbq... pork Ribs were good and sides were average

Quick & yummy. We got takeout and we were impressed. Relatively inexpensive, would definitely return!

Yelp
Great first visit to Joe's. Pulled up at 5:30 on a Saturday night and things were quiet with only one other booth occupied. I had looked at the menu online and had pretty much made my decision. I went with the two meat combo with turkey and chopped brisket (lean, at my request) with mac and sweet potato casserole as my sides. The meats were good with the turkey besting the brisket by a beak. The kitchen gives it a little sear before plating it which is a nice touch that I liked. The sweet potato casserole was the shining star in the side department. The mac was nothing special and I will skip it next time. The shape of the hush puppies is Joe's calling card and the flavor is spot on. Business picked up while we ate and they clearly do a booming take-out business. I'll come back to Joe's when I'm back in High Point!

Yelp
Best sliced brisket that I have ever had. Ribs were good. I did not have enough room left to eat the 3rd meat the 1/4 chicken. I'll eat that later. Sides I picked were sweet potatoes and fried ocra. Both were very good I thought it had onion rings but they were hush puppy rings.

Yelp
Really like their white slaw and hush puppies. Chopped bbq plate is what i recommend.

Yelp
So good got the tasty jitters dance going on. Just moved back from out of state and these hush puppies and chopped bbq have me so happy to be back. Quick ordering online, drive thru was perfect convenience(it was downpour raining), and the young man who helped me purchase in addition to my online order was so helpful and courteous. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
Service was excellent. Ambiance was nice. Pork sandwich was good. Hamburger was ok. Baked beans tasted like they were straight out the can pretty much.

Yelp
Love my brisket, and this is wonderful, but the pulled pork almost stole my heart. Donut shaped Hush puppies, genius!!! No doughy center!! Sweet potato- to die for. Dining room was spotless, service friendly & helpful. Wish I wasn't just driving through!!

Yelp
The BBQ is similar to fast food atmosphere. On this trip we sampled the Roast Turkey plate and the Beef BBQ plate. The sides were Mac N Cheese and French fries. The Brisket was moist with thick slices and the turkey was moist and great flavor. The place was family friendly. The service was great. We ordered at the counter and they brought the food to us. The Mac n Cheese was moist and not dry. Overall I think this place is good for my money. For 2 plates and 1 soda we spent $38

Yelp
Very good BBQ and probably would have been even better if I ate it there while fresh and hot. Got a go-go plate and appreciate the portion for the platter. The pork was great...good flavor and not too heavy on any particular seasoning or vinegar. The brisket was fair, great smoke ring...a tad salty but good smoky flavor. The side offerings are hard to choose bc based off the menu and pictures, I wanted to try more than just two (I could have but def couldn't eat it all). The mashed potatoes and gravy was better than I expected and just by the look of Mac and cheese, I knew it would be good. I actually chose Joe's based off Yelp reviews and pictures themselves. The BIG kicker was seeing the large grill/smoker they have in the back! Would recommend.

Yelp
I believe BBQ Joes has by far the best bbq in the surrounding area. Service is mediocre but the bbq is top notch. On my visit today I had to place my order at the bar, the last time I dined here I was waited on at the table but that has apparently changed. The baked beans were very flavorful. The fries are beer battered, not my preference. Sweet tea is delicious. If you want good bbq then see the folks at BBQ joes at one of their two locations.

Yelp
The ribs there were beyond expectation excellent. The meat is well flavored and tastes really good. The service is fantastic too. The vibe is great.

Yelp
Oh Joe! Is there anything you can't make delicious? My second time here and it's just as good as the first time. This time I ordered the hamburger steak with gravy and grilled onions. My sides were the cinnamon apples and baked beans. My husband got a three meat combo plate with ribs, brisket and smoked sausage with sides of coleslaw and potato salad. My hamburger steak was hand pattied and cooked to a perfect medium. The grilled onions were perfectly caramelized to add that subtle sweetness only caramelized onions can. A little drizzle of Joe's Sauce and it's a perfect bite. Seriously, I could drink that sauce straight from the bottle like a kid squirting Redi-Whip in their mouth on Thanksgiving. I love it!! The baked beans and apples were just perfect as sides to compliment the flavors of my meal. The beans aren't too sweet but they have a nice balance between sweet and savory my tastebuds loved. The apples, of course are a perfect palate cleanser and a nice sweet bite as well. My husbands meal was amazing, the ribs were fall off the bone tender, the brisket was amazing as usual but the star for me was the smoked sausage. I have what some may think of as an unhealthy addition to hot dogs. Smoked sausage is just a hot dog in another really. But seriously maybe the BEST possible form! It was so juicy and had that perfect amount of char I love. YUM! I could go on and on but I'm going to stop. Joe keep doing everything right. Go see Joe!

Yelp
Visited this place with some coworkers for lunch. I had a big breakfast so opted for a just a side of hush puppies....if you like hush puppies, these are the best in NC! I've never found any better, they're a big, fluffy and dangerous. They have a pretty standard BBQ menu offering pork, chicken, brisket, burgers, hot dogs, with your typical sides, Mac and cheese, French fries, slaw, potato salad, etc. like everywhere though, unfortunately there pricing has gone up, so be prepared for that. They also have a fantastic breakfast offering which I used to get more often when I worked closer. Massive biscuits, with bacon, sausage, pork chops, eggs, whatever you want piled on them. The ambiance is very relaxed. Order at the counter when you come in and they'll bring it out to your table if you're dining in. Service is quick and friendly. Id recommend this to anyone. Personally, I think it's one of the better BBQ restaurants in the area. They have a good variety of sauces to pick from to fit just about anyone's taste.

Yelp
Tj's barbecue was delicious. They forgot our BBQ sauce on the side with our To Go order but it was still delicious. The Mac and cheese was wonderful and every bite of the baked beans kept getting better and better. My wife and I loved it.

Yelp
In this post-pandemic world, the whole restaurant scene has become somewhat of an unmitigated disaster. Prices have skyrocketed, and service is often a fraction of what it used to be. Some of the restaurants that survived Covid are only on borrowed time. BBQ Joe's is a restaurant that has not followed that trend. Their food quality and pricing have remained acceptable (maybe even great), and their level of service has always been fantastic. Because of this, I think they have a bright future ahead, even if we suffer another pandemic-like scenario. Their pork and brisket are both incredible, and with each visit you'll receive a healthy dose of southern charm and hospitality. To other restauranteurs who may read this: Take a page from the BBQ Joe's playbook. It's not rocket science. Focus on the fundamentals by charging a fair price, don't skimp on food quality, and refrain from hiring people who don't want to be there.

Yelp
Brisket was really good, nice portions. Will go back to try some other menu items. 85 characters is to long for most reviews IMHO

Yelp
I think this place only had high reviews since it's probably the only BBQ within a 15-mile radius. The girl helping wasn't too friendly when taking our orders. Maybe I missed something or had too high of expectations but it was 'just ok'. We were in the mood for ribs and I also got a side of potato salad and mac 'n cheese. The ribs were not anything special. The potato salad was very eggy. More than the traditional one calls for. The mac 'n cheese? Tasteless, like the ones you get at KFC. Maybe I should have ordered a sandwich instead? It did come with what I thought were onion rings, but they were similar to a hush puppy. Those weren't bad. I did like those!
google avatar

Yelp
We have been looking forward to North Carolina BBQ since we got here and while out furniture shopping in High Point we stopped in here based on the reviews. This simple place with good BBQ at a good price did not disappoint in any way. The Fam-Bam got three different lunch combos, my wife the chicken sandwich with mash potatoes. She was not impressed with the potatoes and I let her know that she probably should have gotten the slaw as a side, maybe next time. My son got the chopped brisket sandwich and fries. The brisket was excellent according to him and Joe's BBQ sauce that was on the table went well with it. They also have a Joe's Hot Sauce (like BBQ sauce) that was nice and spicy. For me, chopped pork sandwich with BBQ slaw on it and hush puppies. I had to take the hush puppies back to the counter because I thought they were onion rings since they were in the same shape as them. The counter girl just chuckled and said "nope that is how we do them here". So there you go. Both were great and the sauce again was excellent on them. The price for the combos was around $9.00 with the sandwiches being a generous size, the sides, and then a drink. I would recommend this place.

Yelp
Quick Service through the Drive-thru....my food was ready within minutes. Hot and Fresh!! I ordered the Brisquet sandwich. The meat was so tender and delicious....Hot and Fresh. Man they pile the meat up there too. The cheese complemented the sandwich perfectly! Sweet potato casserole was Ah-Mazing!!!! Will I return....Most Definitely!!!

Yelp
My third review update?! Wow. Time is really piling on to that first review I wrote way back in 2015 when this place felt so new to me. Right now, BBQ Joe's is offering take-out/drive-thru at the window while our area confronts the Coronavirus health crisis. I have not been over yet since that change was made, but I did eat there most recently about a week or two before it happened. The great news, this is still absolutely one of the best places to get BBQ in the entire Triad, including the Lexington area. They are also still serving up some mighty mean breakfast, including some biscuits that is they were not in the same town as Biscuit Factory, would probably be the best around in any other town. One thing they do have that BFAC does not is superior hash browns, the home fries kind. Delicious and crispy little nuggets, and I recommend you eat them with their SC style mustard sauce. But what you are coming here for is the Q right? Well they are one of the few places in this area that also do brisket, and for me, that is still the money maker here. The pulled pork is outstanding, but their brisket really is an excellent cut with plenty of smokey flavor. I like to keep it simple with sliced brisket, cole slaw, and some of their top notch hushpuppies. If I am feeling really hungry though I get "The Joe" which they advertise as the largest BBQ sandwich in the area. It definitely is that! The sandwich is so large and overflowing with Q and slaw that you really can't pick it up and eat it that way... but that's alright. Grab your fork and use the texas toast for mop up duty! One thing that is underrated here is their "Hot Sauce" which is a bit of a misnomer. It's not like a sriracha or cholula, or Texas Pete (also available). It is more of a pepper sauce. Thinner than the Joe sauce, less sweet, lots of spices. You can see the granules of all the pepper as you pour it. It is so good, I usually buy a bottle of it to go to put on my meats at home! It is the top-dog compliment to the brisket, but can be applied to any meat, even a good all-the-way hot dog! Anyway, I've rambled long enough. BBQ Joe's is a must-stop spot for anyone visiting the area, particularly if it is for Furniture Market. If you're just driving through, they also have a location in Trinity right off the highway! Either way, get you some Joes!

Yelp
Followed YELP and thanks to everyone for the great reviews! Yes, 4.5 stars! Food and service was better than you all had reviewed before I got here! We had a party of 4 and everyone was pleased with their orders. The one thing we all had in common was the brisket! I got the brisket platter with pink lemonade! Big thank you to the afternoon crew and chef for making us welcome!

Yelp
I really liked this BBQ joint. I wish it wasn't so far away from my house, or I would go there once or twice a week. This review is based on food, service, cleanliness, atmosphere, and value. Everything we had was fantastic! We shared the brisket, brunt ends, qtr chicken, okra, mac&cheese, and chicken & dumplings. I could eat this food until I pop. Service was great, and the dining area was clean. The atmosphere is average of a friendly, down-home BBQ joint. The price was average for BBQ, and considering the quality of the food, I would say the value is good. I will absolutely be back, and highly recommend this place!

Yelp
First time eating here but it certainly will not be the last! OMG! I tried the PORK PLATE to go and it was "HEAVEN!" Pulled pork with a tang to it! And for dessert...uh..peach cobbler! Where has this place been?! I'm a HP native..why am I just learning about this spot?! Service was awesome too, see y'all soon!

Yelp
Good food. Nice variety. Barbecue and burgers and hotdogs! Yum! You have to try the Wisconsin burger or the beef brisket sandwich!

Yelp
We hadn't been here in a while and drove an extra 35 miles just to eat their brisket. Never again. It's more like a fast food joint now. We Ordered 2 brisket plates with two sides and 2 sweet teas. When they brought it out it was in a plastic bag in to go boxes. Inside we found our plastic silver wear. The brisket was so tough and fatty we could barely chew it. The plastic knife didn't help. We were so disappointed that we only ate 2 small pieces each and threw the rest away. We normally bring home left overs for our dogs but it was so bad I didn't want my dogs to eat all that fat. The sweet potato casserole was good and the baked beans were too. But for $37 NOT. And some change neither side was worth it. No more visits for us nor will be continue to recommend them. Save your money and find a better place to eat! Looking for a better place for brisket definitely not Joe's! No waitresses any more. Looking for a new Brisket place. Sliced Brisket Guess they are more into profit than customer service. Looks like inside like a McDonalds. Now I can't even post my review! Guess they aren't interested anymore.

Yelp
If you want BBQ from the best come here! My wife and I decided to try the BBQ here and I was a bit worried because we're coming from Texas. I can say with 100% certainty that no place in Texas I've been to matched this places BBQ. We ordered the three meat combo and got pork ribs, grilled chicken, and Brisket with a side of macaroni and cheese and beans. The chicken was tender and moist to didn't need the knife to cut it. It was flavorful and tasted like it came straight from the grill. The pork ribs literally fell off the bone. You grabbed a bone it slid out no meat on the bone at all and they were absolutely fantastic. The brisket was moist and was cooked to perfection. The macaroni and cheese was creamy and smooth. The beans were phenomenal just get them as a side you will not regret it. Conclusion to the review is just go here no if's ands or buts just go because you will not be disappointed!

Yelp
Another place right really don't know where to start.. Not full service you order in the new pick a tablet and sit. The amount of food is insane! My "box" was soooooooo heavy i worried about my weight if I ate it all, which I can't. I did another combo. This time 3 meat. Let's start with sides: greens and Mac n cheese! Yes and yes. Greens were perfect and soaked up the hot sauce! Mac was lighter than it looked, still good. Now let's talk meet Colin let's start 1st with the ribs. They fell off the bone soft and tender with good flavor. The copied pork was the best here! So flavorful that it was the only meat I finished! The spices brisket was good but lost between these two! I think I'll go turkey next! Overall a solid place with great pricing - $21 with sweet tea and tip! Hello! VALUE PLAN!

Sue P.

Yelp
This looks like a fast food joint but the bbq is pretty good. We liked the jalapeno cheddar sausage and ribs. Brisket was meaty. Sauce was good, hot sauce was HOT! They shape their hushpuppies to look like onion rings, but it doesn't matter, they're good. Nice and crispy on the outside and light on the inside. Counter staff is friendly and the orders come out fast. I was not imprewith the baked beans side, but my husband liked the white slaw and said his fries were nice and crispy. They don't wipe the tables down between customers, which turned off my husband but we just wiped them down and we were fine. But if that bothers you, go thru the drive thru and get it to go!

Clyde J.

Yelp
Excellent!!! Had the rotisserie chx, the wife had the turkey (very smokey), large portions, reasonably priced. The hush puppies are rings . . . . what?
google avatar

Yelp
If you want some outstanding country cooking check out BBQ Joe's in High Point. The meats were the main stars for me at this restaurant. The brisket was tender and ver flavorful, minimal fat which is a plus. The ribs fell off the bone and were also seasoned well. As you see in the pics the chicken is also well seasoned. Every bite of that chicken was delicious I'll order it every time. Outside of the meats my favorite bite was the sweet potato casserole! The BEST I've found in this area. It just melts in your mouth, fresh crunchy pecans, and that topping is better than Boston Markets. Somebody got grandma's recipe on those hush puppies as well. Not greasy and surprisingly light. Give this place a shot if you're in the area!

Tamicko R.

Yelp
Best Brisket bar none. Everything is good. Chicken, Pulled Pork, Ribs and especially the Brisket!!! My personal favorite BBQ restaurant. Straight forward seating if you want to eat inside. Staff is always nice. But the BBQ is the Star of the show!

Yelp
Look I loved this place, the BBQ was delicious and the server we had was probably one of the most personable young ladies I have ever had the pleasure of meeting, "Kimberly" I hope you keep up the good work and make everyone when you can feel at home. You will have customers for life. Thank you BBQ Joe's for great food, for a great price served with great customer service.

Yelp
Visiting from Oregon for work and I wanted to get some real southern N. Carolina and BBQ Joe's definitely delivered! Everything was great and the portions were HUGE! I got the 3 meat meal for just myself but I swear I could've fed my entire family with the portions! Great spot for BBQ!

Susan J.

Yelp
I love the brisket and hush puppies. Everything else is good too, but those are my favorites!

Rose I.

Yelp
Excellent food pulled pork and sides are excellent. Bbq Joe's has breakfast too I have never had breakfast there.

Jeffrey S.

Yelp
This is simply great barbecue. Makes a mean brisket as well. Banana pudding, cobblers, great barbecue beans and my favorite, a tenderloin& egg cat head biscuit!

Yelp
My colleague and I found a place to go to for lunch BBQ. It was quite busy for lunch which was a good sign. The staff was very friendly and attentive. I ordered the pulled pork BBQ. Certainly a nice portion with not your typical Carolina BBQ sauce. The value was excellent. Very filling and tasty. A couple of fatty pieces, but that's to be expected.
google avatar

Yelp
They say Customer Service is everything. With BBQ Joes you get awesome CS and good food. I had the brisket plate and it was delicious. I think next time however I am just going to get 3 or 4 orders of hush puppies and GORGE on them. By far the best tasting hush Puppies I have ever had. Please don't tell me they come from a bag. Or , if they do please give me the name on the bag. Great place. I'll be back when I'm passing through.

Robert T.

Yelp
I thought of giving 4 stars ,just because the food choices in High Point are still so lacking -but I settled on 3 stars : If you want to offer delivery via apps your packaging needs to help insure the order arrives intact ....the styrofoam shell is fine -but a piece of scotch tape to keep it close would have made all the difference on my delivery , the shell was open and easily could have spilled out had my delivery driver not been aware -(he was !) The food arrives pretty much room temp, and the ribs were just ok and the chicken was pretty under seasoned ,but most likely is better eat-in ,coming out hot. The Mac and cheese was excellent-and so was the sweet potato casserole-4 stars ! They included utensils! -which so many places fail to even though my delivery address stayed that it's a hotel and I include it in the notes. So overall not bad -I will try this spot again when next in HP.

Yelp
It's the end of 2021 and I'm finally trying this place. Why did I wait so long??? We weren't really in the mood for BBQ today, but decided to try it out since the Yelp reviews have been strong for years. We were seriously impressed with the flavor, quantity, quality and the service. The beef brisket can be eaten without teeth, so tender, so juicy and a beautiful smoke ring. The chopped pork was the juiciest and heartiest portion I've had anywhere. The sweet potato casserole was on point and the cinnamon apples were a nice option. The hush puppies come with it and they were excellent too. My apologies to BBQ Joe for taking so long to try this place out. I'll be back soon, I'm craving that brisket already.

Yelp
BBQ chop or sliced & Brisket combo are by far my favorite here! People are friendly. Place is clean. Fast service.

Yelp
Food was amazing and service was great. Disappointed that they no longer serve cherry cobbler but chicken was very tasty.
