BB's Tex-Orleans

We had a party of 6 and we got in quick just before the crowd. Our server Grace managed us like a pro. The manager Ozzie was friendly, attentive and overall great service. We even had one in our group with a food allergy and he was well cared for. The shrimp poboy and gumbo was generous and tasty. I’m coming back for the shrimp and grits. The happy hour drinks did not disappoint. We will definitely be back. Great vibe.

Service was not the greatest, the hostess at the front did not even acknowledge us for a while. Waitress kept coming in and talking to her, not a single "we will be right with you" or anything. Food was great. Crawfish was great. Fish tacos was a small portion. Their sauces are really good as well!

I do not recommend this place. If you’re craving crawfish, drive to Rajin Cajun on Richmond instead—it’s just a short drive away and definitely worth it. We waited over an hour for 5 pounds of crawfish, and while I understand a busy restaurant, it was frustrating when a table that arrived half an hour after us and less than 10 minutes received their full meal, including crawfish, while we were still waiting. During this time, our waitress was nowhere to be found, and we only received one glass of water. After over an hour and two minutes, I got up to inquire about our order. The waitress seemed surprised, as she had never submitted it. When the meal finally arrived and I spoke to the manager, he offered a $17 discount. While this didn’t address the real issue, it felt dismissive, and the waitress only apologized after I brought it up. Overall, it was an extremely disappointing experience.

We had such a great experience at BB's with Shacresha T. as our server! We came in for crawfish and were lucky to catch a great special they had going on. The crawfish were perfectly seasoned and absolutely delicious. Grandma ordered the gumbo, which she loved, and we finished off the meal with their warm, comforting bread pudding-so good! Shacresha was incredibly accommodating and attentive throughout our visit. One detail that really stood out was when she brought us a bowl of water with lemon to clean our hands after eating crawfish. It was such a thoughtful touch and made the whole experience feel even more enjoyable. Highly recommend dining here and asking for Shacresha-she made our visit extra special! THANK YOU!!!

Saw this place, so stopped by to order takeout. Atmosphere is colorful and decorated! Bar is great. Customer service was fabulous. The food was lacking. I ordered Shrimp Gumbo. The roux was not good. Very spicy, mouth burned for 10 minutes. Boudin balls-I think you get 6 or 7. They are huge, they look gorgeous--The taste is lacking. Was a bit disappointed. Maybe I need to find out what their specialty is.

Enjoyed my experience at this location! Our server Tony was welcoming and helpful with recommendations. We visited during happy hour, so we order beers and a few pounds of crawfish. They were delicious and the service was quick. We will definitely be coming again during the season.

I had a super long, amazing lunch here with one of my dearest friends the other day. They were busy but so attentive, accommodating and gracious towards us - despite the extended time we lingered over lunch and conversation. Despite being busy, our waiter and the manager took the time to find the sandwich my beautiful friend was wanting to order. Come to find out it’s no longer on the menu but the waiter found the manager, determined exactly what it was (it’s a fan fav that is by request only now and no longer on the standard menu), got it ordered for her and it was as good as she remembered! Top tier customer service. Then the manager came by and checked on us (and it appeared she checked on each table personally) and made great conversation and even suggested some other items we might enjoy next time. We got a to-go order when we left and they swiftly got that out to us. Such a great place! They have an amazing outdoor area that offers tons of covered seating. It’s a super fun atmosphere, while still being cozy! I can’t wait to come back and try the gumbo! I ordered the fish and fried shrimp and it was so good! The cocktail sauce and tartar sauce is homemade and so good!

Went to BBs this past Wednesday! Love this spot! Me and my girlfriend are regulars here. Especially during Crawfish season! That 5lb mound was so good! The shrimp poboy my girlfriend got was delicious too! Thanks to Marlene and Aaliyah for such great service! Jermaine is always so cool! He's definitely one of the reasons we keep coming back! The Abita-Rita and Red Headed Wompus drank hit the spot with the great food. (started drinking before photo). Looking forward to coming back again soon! K.O.R. member here! Jermaine, Jermaine, Jermaine.... What can I say... service impeccable... food phenomenal... music jumpin.... Jermaine made sure we were taken care of from beginning to end... Was a bit crowded, but somehow managed to make sure our experience was worth the wait... Definitely coming back... coming for the food... staying for the good vibes... If you're lucky to have Jermaine as your server you won't be disappointed!!!

Establishment is lacking major organization, came here for a school fundraiser and the staff was so rude and so frustrated as soon as we walked in. I understand is a busy spot but we're not coming here for free. Rolling your eyes and asking questions about a person without even acknowledging them is a no go. Never have I encounter such attitude from staff, left as soon as the eyes started rolling, in all honesty this place def needs to retrain their staff. Good thing is that there are plenty of establishments around where you can have a good meal and treated properly.

The service here at BB's never disappoints as Jermaine manages this location with class. Great service, great food, and great memor

I have always had good food and service. Tonight the blackened redfish and crawfish étouffée were really good. Washed down with Abita and Maw Maw's bread pudding.

Worst location of BBs. $13 for that tiny thing of red beans and rice (forgot my hush puppies) and $25 for 2 of the smallest catfish filets I've ever seen.

BB's is perhaps my favorite spot for crawfish when they are in season. However, don't skip out on some other great menu items. They have a surprisingly excellent burger and they always have a good selection of crab (blue, snow, dungeness). Pro tip: get the smoked boudin. It's from the legendary Best Stop in Scott, LA.

We are regulars at the white oak location but we live closer to the oak forest location. Every time we go to the oak forest location we have a mediocre or a less than enjoyable time. Two times we had an entire meal make it to the table AFTER everyone else at the table had already got their food and eaten. They did comp those meals thankfully, but today we went and were going to give it another try. We ended up leaving to go to the white oak location because we asked to sit outside where there were MANY open tables and one male host was going to separate a big table so that our party of two didn't take up a whole table but the other female hostess said that we could not sit outside because those tables were only to sit larger parties. There were other tables of two out there but we didn't feel like arguing to get a table. Won't be going to this location again!

Customer service here is amazing! I always feel so welcomed whenever I dine here. The food and beer is also delicious. Love the vibe here.

Love this location. The customer service is great. Ash is an awesome server/bartender and Candace was very helpful as well even though she was not my server. The lady manager is very kind and I will always be back to this location. Oh and food is always great

It's raining, church has just ended and the wifey is hungry for some Cajun food. Where else in Houston are we going to go? Ok I know there are tons of Cajun restaurants here, but this one is close by to our church. So I really wanted something that was somewhat healthy and had lots of shrimp in it, so I ordered the Bubba Lump salad that comes topped with not only shrimp but they throw in some crab meat for good measure. I can tell you I was not disappointed, it was delicious, and I can't lie the wifey who ordered some kind of fried fish entree was a little bit jealous of how delicious my salad looked. I was so proud of myself for getting some healthy Cajun food that didn't destroy my diet until....................... Yeah, you know how this is gonna go. Everything was perfectly on my healthy diet calorie count until the wifey wanted to order dessert, and not just any dessert but some bread pudding. It was incredibly, it didn't last long enough on my table to even take a picture of it, but if you ever visit this place and don't order one, I will come find you and personally slap you! It's that good! Just don't ask or search online for the calorie count of this dessert, it will break your heart, crush your soul and definitely will destroy any semblance of a diet that you were on. Don't say I didn't warn u!

Jermaine is a great bar/floor manager!! He took great care of us with our food and drinks!!! He is very welcoming and a joy to have as our server!!! Ok wow. Talk about great food and great service. Our server Chelci didnt lead us astray, her suggestions were spot on and the service was impeccable. Wife had the redfish with cream sauce and shrimp. It was bursting with down home creole flavors. I had the crawfish ettoufe and scored every morsel. The kids had the shrimp boils with no complaints there. We finished it off with pecan cheesecake and butter cake with rum sauce. The butter cake with the rum sauce melted in your mouth. When you go here and I suggest you do ask for a Chelci to be your sever. We were laughing it up all night.

First time at this location. Now dubbed "BB Hut". Ambiance was ok. The server was nice and did her best with our large party tables. Other servers pitched in to help with delivering plates to the table. Despite all that, some plates still arrived cold. Red beans and rice was served cold and under seasoned. My first drink (sweet tea) arrived after my main entree. Two different dishes; shrimp did not taste right. Fried shrimp was a little bland. Grilled shrimp tasted like it wasn't cleaned properly before being cooked. Presentation for both dishes was alright.

Stopped in on a Friday to get some red beans and I must say I was pleased. The place was very well kept and the servers were on top of making sure I was taken care of. I sat in the bar area to watch the game and get a view of the outside. Once I got my food and drink it took only about 15 min and it was to my liking. I will for sure be back for another visit and Friday for that special.

Loved the service and great food first time here and will definitely be back when in town. Had shrimp boil with garlic sausage and gator sausage both were great. Also had empanada appetizers was good . Price is reasonable and got free appetizers since first time here for next time. Come by and try it.

Come here and you will not be disappointed folks! Great consistent food quality! Always fantastic service and great ambiance. Bonus if you're coming in peek hours join the waitlist on Yelp. Pro move- you are welcome if you didn't know about that. Instead of waiting 5-10 minutes you get seated as soon as you walk in. Helps them be efficient with their other customers times too.

Well they aren't lying about that bread pudding, ya'll. Sweet Lord, how I have never had this in my life before? It's like dense cake with a sweet, yummy sauce and a caramelized layer on top underneath some meringue or something. I don't have to know what it is other than it's one of those desserts that looks like you can split it but you'll eat faster and fight for the last bite if you do. Don't make our mistake, LOL. I had red beans and rice this time and they were delicious. The large is a large and I ended up bringing half home and it's chocked full of sausage, which I like. So savory and delicious. Everything hit our table hot and fresh, and when it got a little busy with a table of 16 on the patio for Sunday lunch/brunch, everyone stepped up - the bartender brought our drink, (the bloody mary is for the vegetable juice, my hubby swears, hehe), the manager Ms. Shamika checked on us sincerely and often but not too often, it was so great. Our server, Quanesha P., was amazing and communicated to us to help set expectations and gave updates the few places they were needed. It was raining outside which made the vibe inside extra cozy and warm, especially with Ms. Shamika's smile and the way Quanesha intuitively just got how to read the room with our table of 9 and take care of us so we could have both great food and a great time. 5 Stars. When BB's asked for an opportunity to make up for our last experience, I was pretty skeptical. Other establishments have shown themselves to be "let me respond online so we look like we care" and then nothing. NOT HERE. When we were saying goodbye in the parking lot to each other yesterday, my friend said "Well that really redeemed that whole situation," and I laughed and said "I know, right? So this stays in the rotation, okay?" and everyone heartily agreed. Thank you, BB's!!! And please, never ever ever discontinue Maw Maw's bread pudding, or the Tex-Cajun Fries.

We went to BB's at 8pm Friday 26th July. I've never felt so unwelcome and uncomfortable in a restaurant before. Rude bartenders. We sat at the bar, there were two people behind the bar walking around and making drinks/chatting with the bar tables. There were only two other people sitting at the bar and two bar tables, so they were pretty quiet. The bartenders saw us but didn't greet us or come over to bring water, no one came over for an awkwardly long time. When the male bartender finally did come over he said "what's up" and it was very awkward like we were inconveniencing him or something, I said to my husband "hey between the pollo bullets and empanadas what did you want to get?" The bartender rolled his eyes and without waiting one second or saying anything he just WALKED OFF!!! I had wanted to order a drink an appetizer and a water but he just walked off!! Both bartenders continued to ignore us and the male bartender just hung out with the tables behind us, then when he eventually came back over he said sarcastically "ok are y'all ready NOW?" I was so put off I said "well I was ready to order a drink before" and he said "NO YOU WEREN'T". What the hell? I was so uncomfortable I told him we felt like we weren't welcome and we're just going to leave to which he said "ok cool, bye". So we... left. Honestly if management sees this, peek at the cameras and you'll see I'm not exaggerating. We had been to BB's before, so we had a rough idea of what we wanted... but what happened to customer service? What happened to saying "hi how are y'all doing today?" bringing people a water and saying "have you been here before? Can I get you something to drink?" I know it's a casual restaurant but you don't have to be outright rude to people. Unless there was another reason we weren't welcome...? Felt like it. I like BB's and we live close to this location, but it's clear we aren't welcome here so we won't be back. Guess I'll stick to the heights location.

I remember when bbs first came to Houston Texas. I we used to go to the Montrose location all the time. Now I typically frequent this location in Cypress. I happen to be in the area and I was craving some of their gumbo and shrimp Po boy so I just stopped and gave them a shot. Food : the food is exceptional. The food here is a five out of five all day long. Five stars for the food. The shrimp are extremely tasty and full of flavor. I got the shrimp Poboy and I really enjoyed it as I always do. I get mine dress with tartar sauce and pickles. Then I drizzle some hot sauce over it. Let me Telya that makes for a great sandwich. The bread was crunchy and very tasty. Also the chicken and sausage gumbo here is amazing. I will definitely come to this location when I'm in the garden oaks, Oak Forest area. I am not even sure how long this location has been here but I like it. Once again you cannot go wrong with the food here. It's top-notch stuff. Customer service: Customer service was solid.. They were quite busy with to go orders but they took care of us and I was happy with the overall service. I will definitely be back at this location for many times to come. Do yourself a favor stop in and try some of their amazing food.

I always come to bbs and the service always sucks . Either you get sucky service or nothing at all . I used to go to westheimer but stopped because of the service and decided to try white oak since it's the closest but it's exactly the same . The food is delicious it's the only reason why I decided to come back and try again but I will no longer be visiting bbs in downtown.

The food was everything the service was pretty well I go here often now. It's another place that reminds me of back home .( Baton Rouge )

How can you mess up something as simple as fried shrimp and French fries? BB's found a way! Frozen fried shrimp, you people should be ashamed of yourselves.

Every time friends,families and I order a To-Go item. They seem to forget something, especially when I have to pay extra for seasoning, butter and etc. Also it always seems you will get the bottom or the last of whatever is left when ordering To-Go. Food is always worst and it especially always this location only.

We tried this location in Kingwood Texas. We sat on the patio. If it's hot out the patio is not for you. I was fine on the patio but my husband was sweating bullets. The wait staff was ok. Everything was mediocre. We ordered fried pickles, empanadas (beware there's cheese in them), boudin balls which were pretty good ( that mayo concoction was not it) and a seafood platter with fish and shrimp. The shrimp tasted really fresh but the catfish tasted frozen but edible. We are from New Orleans so Cajun and seafood is our thing. The weirdest thing is we usually don't eat the fries on any platters but "baaebay" (in my New Orleans accent), these fries were it, lol. If you love "skinty" fries these take the "N" out of skinny. I ate them all. They are addicting. The hush puppies were flavorless . Check me out at @504cookhouse on IG and see my expectations for a seafood platter. They need to work on food quality, oh and a remoulade goes with boudin balls not mayo and whatever they had mixed with that). If you are looking for a quick bite other than a fast food joint it's cool just don't expect nothing extraordinary.

They have one of the best HRW menus in town. HOWEVER, when we went this year, the first course was served at room temperature; our server forgot to bring silverware for the second course; components of our third course were either substituted without asking or missing completely; and our server was no where to be seen between courses and we actually had to ask table bussers or the bartender for help. This all might have been acceptable had the place been busy, but we were one of three tables. We'll continue to swing by for small plates and appetizers, but not sure if we'll go back for a meal.

Summer was our Server and she was the best! The hubs and I had a nice lunch, salmon, red fish and an appetizer. Food was delish!

Went in for lunch yesterday. Sat there for 15 minutes while wait staff walked around. Never took our order. We left. Won't be going back.

The service was great our waitress was really friendly. We didn't have utensils when the food came out but she was quick to provide us with some. We ordered the Tex-Orleans flavor and as always the flavor was there. The crawfish were a decent size, much bigger than some places around the heights but the shrimp was definitely the medium size.

Great food service and ambiance. The food came out so quick. It was wonderfully prepared. Lots of friends and families all having a great time.

Used to love them but have been disappointed multiple times now. Our most recent experience, we ordered boiled shrimp and a bowl of gumbo for two of us. They came out 25 minutes apart, we asked about it multiple times, there was no apology, no discount offered, nothing. I assume they drove to the bayou to catch the shrimp fresh before bringing it to the table because... how ridiculous.

One of the first restaurants I visited in Houston with Pops, the type of food is in the name of the restaurant. Louisiana cuisine with some Tex-Mex flare is their business and business is good! We started with the Boudin balls which were huge IMO. While I've had better balls elsewhere, the Cajun dipping sauce takes it to another stratosphere leaving you with a W-O-W moment in your mouth. For the entrees, I ordered the crawley crawfish combo and my pops got the grouper McAllen. First, that motto about 'everything is bigger in Texas' is definitely true especially when it comes to portion sizes. Second, this place nailed the cajun/south flavor profile right on its head. They manage to merge the Cajun and Texas flavors together to a T, especially with the crawfish. Rich, spicy, and hot, just how I like my girlfriend ! My pops devoured his grouper although he was straight stuffed afterwards; we likely needed a wheelbarrow to move us out. The interior has that Louisiana feel with the pictures and wall art. They put a lot of thought into designing this place and it shows. Plus the staff with their southern charm and manners makes you feel like you're in New Orleans. Now I wanna visit there! You may miss this spot since it's in the corner of the shopping area so be on the look out for it. New locations are popping up faster than Drew Brees passing records, I hope their as good as this one!

Their service was awesome! I ordered a seafood gumbo from the wrong location and they did their best to accommodate and speed up my order. Even offered to call the other location to cancel for me.. before I realized.

Had lunch here, margaritas were great, fried catfish po- boy was delicious. Kittina did a great job serving us.

The food all tasted very good. Richard and Harold were very attentive and should be recognized for their excellent service. We were a party five and ordered a little bit of everything. (Crawfish, oysters, crabs, clams, pineapple sausage, boudin.) However, I was sick to my stomach all weekend. I'm from Louisiana so this is my kind of food and it's very unusual for me to get sick from eating Cajun food. I'll be back anyways.

I've been coming to this location for years! I am definitely what you call a regular, so regular that when I walk in people greet me by name and my friend Jermaine knows what I want to eat and drink. Jermaine is the best thing about this location, whether he is in the kitchen cooking or working at the front bar he always makes sure that I am well taken care of and that my order is perfect! I can't stress enough how amazing he is! 10/10 recommend and please ask for Jermaine!

I was actually hesitant on making this review. My family and I ate here on Sunday. Today is Tuesday and since then I've been sick. I don't think the crawfish was cleaned thoroughly. It seemed as if there was a lot going on and we waited a while for our food. Although some of the people were really nice , we were there for over 2 hours maybe close to 3.

The wait staff here is absolutely incompetent. I'm unsure why the people at the hostess stand tells people ridiculous long wait times for the BAR area. I come in here often and get terrible service unless it's one waiter. He's actually the only reason I return to this terrible location. This is so bad I'm honestly at a point where I'd or quit my job to work as a waitress just to help and run this establishment better. Also, the Togo staff was nonchalant. It got so bad that some random man told us to just sit at a table because they too saw how long the imaginary wait was. I am so fed up.

I'm sad to leave this review :( I've had BB's several years ago and always remember liking it. I saw on Instagram BB's had 5lbs of crawfish for $35, so placed an order for pick up. On the phone, was told they were medium-large sized. Once I got home, noticed they were all MINI sized. That's not even the worst part, they were completely over cooked and rubbery. Every single bite was rubber and extremely salty. Also had the tiniest side of sausage. It was a really disappointing meal.

Come when Jermaine is the chef! The food will come out hot and fast. Today I came and dined with disappointment since our food was a little chilly even after we sent it back. The restaurant was pretty empty so we're unsure why it took so long. Literally as we finished eating jermaine walked in for the rescue! I promise if you come around 4pm you will enjoy. Good luckkkkk

OK, so it's been exactly a year since my last review, and now that Texas is smart and opening up restaurants again, I thought I'd check out BB's Tex-Orleans near my neighborhood. Short version: a noisy, hectic, woefully understaffed eatery with bland food and bad hygienic habits. Stay away!! Run for the hills!! Do not eat here!! Long version: In the midst of my spring cleanse, I wanted a nice lunch with some fish and red beans and rice. Because BB's has a daily special - and today's happened to be fried fish - I dropped in here. The first thing I noticed was that it was loud and busy. In fact, within the span of 15 seconds, two servers breezed by me and said "I'll be with you in a minute" while rushing to their tables. Management, take note: when you are short of staff, call in the reserves if you can. Don't over-seat customers in already busy stations and have your waitstaff acting like it's "Beat the Clock." But I digress. As I was alone, I sat at the bar - as I always do. It took the bartender a while to get to me. And no, the bar wasn't busy. This guy was too busy taking requests for NCAA basketball games to tune the TV sets. WTF?? Is that even his job?? It also translated into bad service. Water wasn't kept filled, I had to ask for silverware, and nobody checked on me until near the end of my meal. Pics attached to prove my point. As for the food, it was MEH. The fried fish lacked flavor, and the red beans and rice looked as if they'd died under a heat lamp. Trust me - when you have to add lemon, salt, Tabasco and tartar sauce to spice up your fish, then it's B-L-A-N-D. And this is supposed to be Louisiana cuisine? SMH... The crowning blow was when I was finishing up my lunch and found a big, long, black hair in my red beans. That's right, readers - a HAIR. Excuse me while I go vomit. OK, I'm back now. After I complained to the too-busy bartender, he went in the back with my food. He came back and informed me that the management comped the meal. Did a manager come by personally to apologize for the mishap? NO. Was I offered anything else? NO. After reading all these previous reviews of patrons who have dined in, I can safely say that they're all correct. Service and food are just awful, and it's systemic. The GM obviously doesn't care about how guests are treated, and as the old saying goes: "The fish rots from the head down." So to summarize: lackluster service, insipid food and a big hair in the food contributed to this 1-star updated review. Congratulations, BB's - you have just won The Peter Hughes Badge of Shame Award. (Inserting appropriate Bronx cheer here.) GIRL, BYE!

Came here for the first time during restaurant weeks, so glad we did! The food is SUPERB! Everything we tried was scrumptious!!! Can't wait to come back!

If I could give negative I would. Came in for a drink just to check out the establishment. I came alone so I was able to find a single seat at the bar. Upon sitting down I made eye contact with both bartenders and they refused to acknowledge me. 5-7 minutes later one of the bartenders (Javi) finally agrees to reluctantly come serve me (Makers&Gingerale). Takes him entirely too long to do that. The bar wasn't that busy, I felt unwanted and like a burden. Even a manager noticed I was at the bar WITHOUT a drink and didn't come over to speak with me. No bartender chatted with me or even asked if I wanted/needed anything else. I work in this industry and am always welcoming and attentive with my guest. This new location clearly needs more training on customer relations! Oh and to top it off, as I'm wrapping up Javi pushes a sign (photo below) in front of me and says "You're leaving right" I'm at the last seat at the bar, there is a seat betwixt me and the next guest. They clearly just didn't want me there!

Great service with great food. Love the crawfish here, always full of flavor with just the right amount of heat. Staff is always friendly and willing to take to the time to explain the menu and what your best options are depending on what you want.

The gumbo here is some of the best. A dark tasty rue. Both gumbo, chicken and shrimp. The place has great seafood of all kind. Small inside but a nice outdoor patio.

Good food and good service! Although the restaurant is located in the corner of a shopping center and looks pretty small from the outside; it actually has a lot of space inside! There's the main dining room/bar, the small outdoor patio, and a HUGE covered patio. I ordered the chicken and waffles during my visit here and my friend ordered the fish tacos. The foods were fresh and good, and the portion was generous. Definitely no complaints about the food. Well, I guess one complaint: I definitely expected to get more meat, queso, and gravy. If you look at the picture, you'll see that the one side of the plate is pretty much dry. It was still delicious though! As for the service, our waitress was friendly and attentive but not overwhelming. No problem with splitting the check between me and my friend. I love that BB's is now open in the area. I will definitely add this to the list of restaurants to frequent. It doesn't hurt that they have what seems like a pretty cool happy hour as well.

Went to a late lunch with a good friend. Love the Bedtime on the Bayou fried shrimp poboy. Food was delicious as expected. Never disappointed in a meal st BB's. Just wish there was one in Brenham.
