Stopped by twice, never left disappointed. Don't let the exterior fool you, this place has a lot of unique donuts in addition to the staples. Their regular menu is expansive and solid, with A LOT of cake options that will please people like me who prefer cake over raised style!
They offer some pricier specials on the weekends, and I got to try some of those too. Really cute! And the ones I ate (saved some for others) were delicious and lived up to social media hype, particularly the ube cake donut. I'll delve into a few of the more social media famous items...
Picked up some celebratory donuts from BC Donuts, in Pasadena. Most of these are their pricier specials but the regular menu is still excellent. I took a couple of close-up pictures of the ube/taro cake donut and s'mores raised donut, because I think those are the ones most people see on social.
The crème brûlée donut is often advertised, and while plain looking, it really does taste exactly like a crème brûlée... I preferred it with a burnt (dark) sugary crust, but that's just luck of the draw. It tastes good less burnt too.
The ube one lives up to the hype. It is light and cakey, not as dense as traditional buttermilk or old-fashioned cake donuts. The ube cake isn't too sweet either, so the layer of frosting and Oreos add nice flavor.
Their black sesame cruller and matcha raised donuts are also worth trying.
