The Best Dishes Eater Dallas Ate in April 2025 | Eater Dallas

"A tiny Casa Linda spot known for an exceptional hummus served on freshly made focaccia; the hummus is whipped to an unusually fluffy, spreadable texture by slowly adding a few ice cubes to the blender. Spread atop crispy, salty focaccia dotted with fresh herbs, the combination is repeatedly irresistible—so much so that the writer returned for it twice." - Courtney E. Smith

The Most Exciting Restaurant Openings for 2024 in Dallas | Eater Dallas

"Dallas Morning News food writer Claire Ballor: "I love seeing people open small, independent restaurants in their own neighborhoods. There’s just a different type of energy found between the walls of such places, so I was particularly excited to see [the spot] open in East Dallas last month. Madison King, Russ Kirk, and Joey Fink are doing something pretty cool over there with their free-spirited and constantly changing menu. In a world where setting calendar invites to make dinner reservations months in advance has become common practice, a casual, come-as-you-are spot like this is a welcomed reprieve." Gabe Sanchez of Saint Valentine and Black Swan Saloon: "The opening of [the spot] opening excited me the most. The more quality over quantity restaurants we get in Dallas the better. I love the restaurants that press the envelope forward, but my favorite places to eat are classic comfort food places. This place nailed it." - Courtney E. Smith

The Best Dishes That Dallas Food Experts Ate in 2024 | Eater Dallas

"The best thing I ate this year was the salisbury steak dinner at this spot. That’s right, salisbury steak with wild mushroom shallot gravy, mashed potatoes and pickled blistered shishitos. I am waiting for them to do it again. It’s fire." — Gabe Sanchez. The salisbury steak dinner is described in detail (wild mushroom shallot gravy, mashed potatoes, pickled blistered shishitos) and remembered as a crave-worthy, incendiary dish." - Courtney E. Smith

Everything about this restaurant was amazing. The atmosphere was welcoming and the vibe was perfect! Every dish we had was absolutely delicious and we loved the seasonal dishes. We will be coming back and happy to have this place in the neighborhood!

Excellent white wine selection, great food and stellar service. The menu is limited and rotates but everything we had was delicious, especially the watermelon gazpacho. Loved the atmosphere and music selection, and the toddler plate was a big hit with my two little kids. I can’t wait to go back!

Holy cow. More people need to head into this delightful place. We wanted 1 of everything. But if you’re coming in, definitely get the hummus. It’s out of this world. Everything was amazing. It’s my understanding that the menu changes regularly but what I can say is you can tell is that both the chef and owner know what they’re doing. This place is incredible and we can’t wait to come back. I put $20-30 per person because we got apps and drinks as well as entrees.

Great food and a warm welcoming staff can’t be beat. The cocktails were yummy and every bite was delicious. Even the seemingly simple focaccia with hummus or charred cabbage were memorable.

Super super I love it, it's on another level of concept, everything around it is adorable, it fascinates me, it's the best, every week a new way and it's incredible how everything comes together in the magicians' kitchen and it comes out beautiful and delicious, delicious, delicious, everything is perfect, for everything, every time something different, song, bread, wine, drinks, good friends, great delusions, landing loves of life, my beloved world celebrations "BE HOME SOON" 🛸

Cute little restaurant with a small delicious menu! The lady that served us also had great energy. Support local small businesses.

This place is just perfect... A team of culinary brilliants, hatching a brand new menu every week. A cozy bar with damn-good craft cocktails, as well as classics. A casual-chic neighborhood haunt feel. Servers and bartenders that you can tell are so cool you know they're just moonlighting there for friends, but are really like secret graffiti artists or make hats for rock stars in real life. I just wish I didn't have to drive 45 minutes to get there!

Google
I love everything about this place. The owner Madison is an angel. Chef Joey nails it every week with completely new dishes. Behind the bar, folks like Lolo and Pablo are always attentive and making interesting libations. Best of all, tipping is not required (20% is included which results in a highly trained and fairly compensated staff).

Yelp
Decided to check out Be Home Soon, the new restaurant in Casa Linda Plaza. The food was delicious and the service was amazing. It was a little hard to see the handwritten dinner specials during dinner service cause the lights were dim and the writing on the butcher paper was hard to read from our table, but our waiter was more than happy to share the information with us and repeat as needed. It was a little on the pricier side for the plaza, but not outlandishly so. My mom and I shared an appetizer of focaccia topped with hummus () and each got an entree and a side, and I had a cocktail while she had tea. She LOVED the marinate shoshito peppers and could have ate a bowl of just those! lol The bill with service fee/tip included was at around $98. So not too bad for a nice night out. They also change up the menu weekly, so it'll be neat to see what they have in the future!

Yelp
My wife and I had dinner at the bar on a Friday night and it was way better than we even expected. A major win for East Dallas. We had drinks (a Manhattan and a new beet-infused tequila drink they were introducing which was amazing), the kettle chips and onion dip (so good), Salisbury steak (I wasn't initially excited about ordering a Salisbury steak based on the only past experience with it being in my high school cafeteria days, but one bite in and I was floored. SO GOOD. Like... SO. GOOD), and finished with a brownie a la mode (which was just okay). The bartender was great, the atmosphere was bomb. We plan to be regulars.

Yelp
My mother and I went for a late lunch and the menu included a Curry Chicken Sandwich and a Roasted Vegetable Sandwich with 2 season soups. Our waitress was exceptionally sweet and knowledgeable about the menu. Her service was superb. I believe her name was Kiera. All the food was scrumptious and well seasoned, we also had French press coffee which was to die for. They do include a service charge but the ambiance, delectable food and knowing the servers can be supported by that makes it well worth it. I will be back soon excited to try the rest if the menu

Yelp
Fabulous food! Fantastic drinks! Wonderful pub atmosphere! Excellent service! Reasonable prices. I had an Outlaw beer with the delightful chicken Sammie (coconut adobe chicken sammich with chipotle mayo, pepper jack cheese, pickled onion, and arugula). This place is going to be a hit in the neighborhood!

Yelp
Intimate but lively restaurant and bar here. Expect one of the owners to touch you on the shoulder to tell you thanks for coming by. Suspend expectations about what might be on the menu today - it will be unpredictable and outstanding. The bar is well stocked and creative, and well priced too. This is a fairly small place that will benefit from it's modesty - go now and make friends there - you won't regret it.

Yelp
We went on Tuesday 11/26, excited to try this new place. They had 2 entree selections: Pot roast and pork ribs, and at 7:45, were out of pot roast. Neither of us wanted pork, so the only options were a couple of lousy salads. They also automatically added tip on the check, 20%. $61 and we left hungry!

Yelp
Atmosphere is spot on for a neighborhood type feel. Been twice since they opened. Drinks always deliver. First time there had the ribs, which were omg outstanding and I would definitely go back on a week when they are serving them or something similar(seriously still craving those ribs). Second time we had the curry chicken, flavor was there but definitely wanted more curry sauce and maybe just like an option to have rice, might have rounded the dish out. Overall love the place and look forward to continue trying their ever changing menu.

Yelp
Just meh. Interesting minimalist approach to lunch and dinner. There's a mandatory 20% gratuity up front, FYI. Limited menu but interesting choices. We went for lunch. The beef stew was very disappointing. Served at room temperature and no flavor. Lighter meals available. Might be better as a bar for drinks, it seems food is dicey. Good friendly service though. Not likely to return.

Yelp
This place was so so good! I loved it! I had a cocktail to start; I asked for a cosmo- not on the menu but they made it perfectly! I then had one of the mains offered this week - the salisbury steak with mushrooms-- and I had a side of collard greens with beets, plus a glass of red wine. All of it was amazing! Really wonderful food and drinks, fabulous service, lovely fellow diners and vibe. Right in my neighborhood. I will be back soon and can't wait to become a regular!

Yelp
We loved our visit during their opening week. The menu is limited to two entrees, lots of apps and they rotate them as dishes run out. For me, the food was high quality and the service was awesome. It's more like going to a friend's house for dinner than eating at a restaurant. Can't wait to go back.
