For A Few Bites More

We enjoyed the Sisig (pictured) with chips. Great flavors that could pair well with a few beers. For mains we ordered Kare Kare and the bacon fried rice. We didn't enjoy the Kare Kare, too sweet, but the fried rice was enjoyable. I wish I could give 3.5 stars here.

Trey, our server was fantastic. Very whitty and knew the menu well. The food was great but the fried food was a tad greasy. Fryer not hot enough? Maybe. Who knows. I'll be back for more of their amazing cocktails though!!

We went to Be More Pacific during happy hour on a Wednesday. I really like the setting of the restaurant in a second floor to which you enter from the first floor of the building. Decoration and atmosphere are great and the patio seems very pleasant. Staff was super nice and attentive and everyone there seemed to be proud of the food they are serving. We took advantage of the happy hour and based our dinner on appetizers. The Sisig (crispy pork) is remarkable! It is delicious, original and fulfilling. Also I liked the way the dish is brought to the table and the fact that the egg is mixed by the staff in front of you. Another highlight are the tots with longanissa. It is a humble dish, but the touch of the longanissa and the red sauce made it very interesting. Chicken skins are also tasty, though it is a more simple dish. On the other hand, the crab meat egg roll was nothing special. In my opinion, the Sisig, is really worth the visit to this restaurant. The drinks menu includes craft beer on tap (pleasant surprise), wine and crafted cocktails, which are also discounted during happy hour. Overall, BMP is a very recommendable restaurant, with an original Filipino inspired menu offered in a very cool setting and with good prices. I am looking forward to my next visit to BMP to try the rest of the menu!

Very interesting environment with a large balcony area. Shanghai egg rolls were very delicious and comes with tasty chili sauce. The Tosilog is really good. Highly recommend this place.

This Filipino restaurant in Austin works for me because it has a nice, young vibe...with a no nonsense feel to it...straight away home cooked food in the menu and drinks. The space is quite generous, too. Hope my photos here helped. The decor has that quirky yet classic Pinoy humor, too. The restaurant is located in the 2nd floor. Luckily, in addition to the staircase, an elevator with a generous proportion is available. The 2nd floor balcony is open to guests for those that want to chat some more. Or have cocktails while they wait for their table maybe. The Mojito, while not Filipino in origin is nicely tweaked by the addition of coconut rum. This was a favorite of many when we dined. 👍🏼 The Kare Kare was presented differently. But the sauce was spot on. I enjoyed it. Could have been oxtail. Maybe in the future. The rice that came with it was plenty for this dish to be enjoyed. 👍🏼 The Sisig was a classic Kapampangan dish. Being in America, the owners were right in keeping this dish safe and very likeable to the palate and not of the more exotic kind. For healthier reasons, the meat used was quite lean. 👍🏼 According to the locals, this place is a town favorite. And I am happy for the owners and all those that work here.

We decided to try this place last night and I must say it's like being at home. The food was amazing, I really wanted to try the Adobo since it's my all time favorite comfort food but I decided to try the Tosilog with homemade spam. And true bliss! My wife had the pancit bihon and it was truly amazing. I'm normally a fan of pancit canton but the bihon was just great. We will be back to try the other dishes. I will also say we did try the Longgonsia Tots and OMG! The portion size is like family style enough to share between 2 people. Glad we only got 2 dishes for the 3 of us!

There IS good Filo food in Austin!! Even compared to some of the best places in NYC, this place is authentic with fun twists on Filipino food, especially for brunch. The juices for the brunch drinks are fresh (think fresh lychee and calamansi juices for mimosas). The food is so delicious we left stuffed and were surprised by how affordable the bill was when it came - even with our three brunch drinks! We will certainly be back here, after our diet of course 🤣.

I'm used to having Filipino restaurants available to me at practically every corner in my neighborhood in Jersey city, NJ....my hometown. So after moving to Austin, be more Pacific helped fill a void and more with their modern imaginings of classic Filipino dishes. If nothing else, come here for drinks, chill on the patio, and enjoy their pun filled decor.
