Just arrived in Da Nang and we were about to go to a much more expensive place across the street when our grab driver suggested we go to this place instead, because it was good but cheaper. Maybe he saw our young children and how we were dressed and figured we weren’t prepared for fine dining which was probably a correct assumption.
The restaurant looked very busy so we took his suggestion. As you can tell from the other reviews, the food is wonderful so I’ll just summarize how we as first timers who only speak English ordered -
1 - order seafood by the tanks. pick the seafood you want, tell them how you want it prepared (garlic, garlic butter, steamed, etc) and the quantity, although they helped us out with how much we should order. The ordering process felt rushed, but we got it done. They give you a slip and take you to your table.
2 - there are menus at the table and plates of peanuts and quail eggs. If you don’t want to get charged for the eggs and peanuts, let them know you don’t want it. We didn’t realize this and got charged about 20000 vnd per plate of eggs and peanuts. Wasn’t bad but we probably only needed 1 plate of each instead of 2.
3 - At the table we ordered all the sides from the menu - veggies, fried rice, omelette, etc, although I noticed that the menus also had a combo seafood meal that seemed like it would have been good as well
4 - during dinner a guy came around with a big basket of various packaged fruit for sale. The jackfruit looked good so we bought one for 20000vnd. It was so good! He has a fruit stand right in front of the restaurant so after dinner we went by the stand and bought some more fruit.
