The 10 Best Hotels in Tulum for Coastal-Meets-Jungle Charm | Vogue

"“While many of Tulum’s spas offer a spectacular glimpse into Maya philosophy, there’s none quite like the Yäan Healing Sanctuary at Be Tulum: Traditional practices and modern energy healing inspire treatments like the santigüada purification ritual, where guests receive a limpia (or cleansing) by the resident healer who uses indigenous herbs and mezcal to cleanse and nourish the body. Back at the resort, it’s all barefoot luxury with suites featuring private plunge pools, outdoor showers, and terraces draped in greenery. During a stay, guests have myriad dining options to choose from, including Mare'zia Beach Club for the freshest seafood and views of the Caribbean Sea, and a sky terrace for sunset DJ sets and cocktails.”" - Michaela Trimble

The Best Resorts in Mexico

"An eco-minded, barefoot-luxe beach resort, the property integrates nature into architecture and public spaces—rooms and villas use wood, stone, and rustic furnishings alongside luxe amenities like copper soaking tubs and private plunge pools. The Yäan Spa focuses on Mayan-inspired healing rituals, and multiple on-site dining venues and a Boho beach club deliver bold flavors in atmospheric settings. The resort enforces an adults-only policy (guests must be 16 and up), lacks formal accessibility features due to jungle terrain and architecture, offers complimentary valet parking, does not accept pets, and is priced in the moderate range." - Emily Hochberg Emily Hochberg Emily Hochberg is a writer and editor with over 15 years of experience specializing in travel, lifestyle, home, parenting, and reviews. 18 Best Hotels in Tulum, From Luxury Resorts to Beach Bungalows

"A rare boutique property in this resort-heavy area, Be Tulum has a smaller feel and plenty of character. Guests love the outdoor showers and jungle-nestled feel that still keep the beachfront at their feet. Popular for honeymooners and cuisine lovers who enjoy the open-kitchen restaurant, its beach-club-meets-hotel vibe embodies Tulum well, and has garnered repeat clients, including Traveler readers who landed it a spot on the 2023 Readers' Choice Awards. New to the property is an off-site villa named Casa Sastran, a five-bedroom home in the Sian Ka’an Biosphere with private beach access." - Michaela Trimble

Inspector Visits: Be Tulum Earns Its Key on the Busy Shores of the Caribbean

"Simply the very best version of very typical Tulum, this One Key beachfront hotel in the Zona Hotelera delivered a child-free, small, intimate campus with two pools and a gorgeous, dark, beach-chic aesthetic. My suite was as close to the ocean as possible without waking up wet; inside, a thatched-style ceiling and wooden accent wall warmed cool concrete floors and stone walls, with books and figurines (a pregnant clay warrior caught my eye) to keep my visual interest. Other rooms sit further back in the hotel’s little jungle, some with private plunge pools. Dining spans several venues—one for traditional Mexican food, one for seafood or grilling on the beach, plus a terrace and bar—and the location puts me minutes from three MICHELIN-selected hotspots (NÜ Tulum, Wild, and Hartwood) that share the same jungle aesthetic while serving a variety of creative dishes. The glitz is balanced by the area’s more spiritual side: I sweated through a traditional temazcal in a canvas tent, while other options include cacao ceremonies, pranic meditation, and vinyasa yoga, many held at larger sister hotel Nomade next door. A beautiful wood-platformed indoor/outdoor spa sits just across the street, easily booked through a friendly concierge over WhatsApp and charmingly shared by tiny frogs inching along the deck. Despite high-end amenities and the occasional influencer sighting, the place felt pleasantly down to earth; staff weren’t overbearing—sometimes even lax—and at the outdoor restaurant two resident dogs made friendly appearances, only haphazardly shooed away by servers, a charmingly chill touch I found comforting about luxury in Tulum." - The MICHELIN Guide
