The 24 Best Restaurants In Venice, Italy - Venice - The Infatuation

"In a far corner of Cannaregio, the Vino Vero team has created another spirited and welcoming natural wine bar. Meet Bea Vita, which has two cozy rooms and many tables right at the edge of the Rio de San Girolamo. The cicchetti here is hearty with bowls of crunchy sweet and sour cabbage and meatballs with a subtle curry spice. There is a limited daily menu for a more substantial meal, too. The wine selection here is focused on natural producers, and the staff really like to share their favorite bottles and producers with you. Expect a chill DJ in the front dining room in the early evenings, but the scene starts to liven up as the night goes on." - gillian mcguire, carlo mantuano

Come to this place if you like to enjoy great drinks and food paired with experimental and dance music in the background. No pretentions, just the good stuff. Also a great way to escape from the oversupply of psterias and trattorias in Venice.

Google
Great bar and restaurant off the beaten track. Pairs good, fresh food of lots of variety with vinyl dj nights and a great wine selection. Worth going out the way for and one of the best bars we found.

Nice food in bistro style. Medium in size. Have vegeterian options and fish. Menu seems to vary. Good service, speaking english and also serves cocchetti.

Another quaint cicchetti and wine stop along a canal. It’s out of the way, away from the masses and extremely quiet and relaxing. We enjoyed watching the boats go by.

We came for a wine and stayed for the bottle. The staff was so nice, the bar looks great and the food was so good we had to order more. It was totally worth the price. Thank you!

Google
This is a smaller bar type with small plates next to the main restaurant. I noticed in the reviews there may be some confusion. Amazing wine and small plates for veryyy cheap. Not as touristy as most places in the Venice center. The bartender was very nice

Great very hip place - linked to Vino Vero Original but excellent Negroni

This was the perfect late night dinner for me. The food is simply fantastic (I ordered the tagliolini with prawns with a bottle of Prosecco), and the ambience can't be beat. It's right by the water with outdoor seating and is frequented by a sophisticated crowd at night. There aren't any other businesses immediately next-door, so dining outside felt quite peaceful, and down the street, local youths gather and sit chatting while drinking wine.

Yelp
This is hands-down the best restaurant we dine at while in Venice. It was our last night in Venice, and we were on a mission to find a place that was not super touristy and had squid ink pasta on the menu. Some tips we learned from our travel guide on our first day in Venice was that we should avoid places that had pictures of the dishes on display (because Venetians knew what the dishes should look like) and look for a place that had a hand-written menu. This place checked all the boxes. The location is set right next to a canal and we got here just in time for the sunset. The kitchen did not open until 7:00 PM, so we sat down and enjoyed some spritz while watching the sky turn colors. Once the kitchen opened, our waiter came out with menus. Without hesitation, I ordered the squid ink pasta, and my girlfriend ordered the seafood spaghetti. The squid ink pasta had pieces of cuttlefish that were cooked to absolute tender perfection. The flavor was unexpectedly hearty, and not at all fishy. I also expected the dish to be almost gritty based on appearance but was also wrong there. The seafood spaghetti was loaded with fresh clams, mussels, and shrimps. The chef definitely added splashes of citrus to the pasta to bring out the freshness of the dish. Neither of us had an issue devouring our plates, but were barely able to move afterward. Prices were extremely fair, especially the alcohol. Definitely stop by before the kitchen opens so you can make sure you get a seat at this amazing place!

Yelp
I loved this restaurant!!! A friend and I went wandering in various random directions and stumbled upon this place our first night in Venice. We didn't eat here because we weren't hungry, but it smelled so good we had to find it again for our last night in Venice! I'm so glad we did. We got to sit by the water on their beautiful patio. At our waiter's suggestion, I ordered their pasta with clams and mussels.....I wasn't sure I would like it but it was amazing! The seafood was fresh and tasty. The sauce that was with it complimented the seafood perfectly. The portion was huge! Additionally, they had fairly tasty tiramisu. If you're in Venice, try to find this little gem. PS this was one of very few areas in Venice that felt like real people who actually live there may be around....not just hoards of tourists. Gotta like that!

Yelp
While traveling, I usually have a rule that I never revisit the same restaurant twice. However, this is one of my favorite places that I ate at while in Venice, and I am writing this review after my second visit. It is a bit out of the way of the touristy areas, but was close to our Airbnb. The service is probably the most attentive we have had in Italy, and we felt very welcome. They have indoor and outdoor seating, and bread and water is unlimited and included in the cover charge (€1.50). We went around lunchtime both times, and only ever saw locals eating there. On the first trip, we were pleasantly surprised by the food and the price (€27 for a full meal for two people), and decided to come back the next day. On the second trip, we ordered a bowl of clams and mussels to share, and I also had Frutti di Mare Pasta, codfish with polenta, and a large side salad, while my girlfriend had the Frutti di Mare as well. I also had a glass of dry Prosecco, and we finished with €1 espressos. The food was fast and tasted fresh and delicious. They have a one page menu and they seem to change it every day, although it seems they have a few favorites always available. The order of clams and mussels was our favorite, and I think we would honestly go back just for that. Overall, the multiple-course meal only cost €40. If you are in the area, this is the place I would recommend.

Yelp
We stopped in because it was pretty much the only place open at 2 in the afternoon, the waitress was not very nice from the get go. The free bread was probably the best part of the meal. I ordered the pasta with zucchini and it didn't have much flavor. We ate the food because we were all hungry at that point, but it was overall not a good experience.

Yelp
Away from the tourist throngs off the cruise ships and around the corner from the Jewish Ghetto, this is the perfect escape for lunch. Great fresh plates of food and nice house wines, we sat by the canal and enjoyed our time. A special hideaway. Gratzie

Yelp
The best seafood lasagna I ever had! Delicioso! Service was great. People very nice and welcoming. Reasonably priced. Bold red wines!

Yelp
I give this a four star only because there weren't a lot of choices on the menu. The thing that sets this restaurant apart from the rest is that the prices are dirt cheap.

Yelp
In walking distance from our AirBnB, this Osteria is the perfect place if you find yourself hungry/thirsty and needing a rest stop. They had a Journey/Janis Joplin radio station going, and we stood in the sun drinking Prosecco and beer for an hour. They also have table service dining off the waterway right in front. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves, and we were more than satisfied with our beverages and 1-Euro Brie Frittos (Fried cheese). Totally give it a try if you're in the area!

Yelp
I wasn't real impressed. I should have known when My wife and I sat down and the bread basket they served was stale. The pasta was just ok, not bad, just ok. We had ate at another Italian restaurant called La Colombina the night before that we loved so this was a disappointing. We even went back to La Colombina the next night.

Yelp
We stumbled upon this place by accident while exploring Venice, and what a happy accident! We received a very warm welcome and some fantastic local cuisine with none of the anonymity, rush and "menu touristica" of most of the central Venetian restaurants. The whole thing ended very pleasantly too, with complementary hazelnut liquer in a chocolate shot glass. It is well worth exploring to find this little gem.

Yelp
This place was recommended by our Venetian host as fairly priced and delicious, and after reading the reviews we expected to be really pleased with the food. The atmosphere was indeed very nice, in an uncrowded canal. And the service was extremely friendly and with the right amount of attention. The food was good, but by no means spectacular. We ordered the veal in red wine sauce - which another reviewer claimed to be the best veal shed ever tasted. Although the sauce was tasty, it was quite salty and the veal was completely mediocre. We also ordered the gnocchi with scallops, which was also tasty, but not exceptional. The prices were about what you see everywhere for a standard meal, but the bottles water was free. The tiramisu was very good and an enormous portion was more than enough for two, maybe even four people could share it. Overall the portions were large. All in all we had a great time and enjoyed the experience.

Yelp
Quiet Dinning in an authentic neighborhood. Right on a river. Great value, especially for Venezia. Would be closer to 5-star, but the zucchini was soggy.

Yelp
We had only 24 hours in Venice. We were jet lagged and tired after having walked the entire afternoon on the island. We wanted good food and sleep. My daughter picked this restaurant from our travel guide "Venice Day By Day". It was close to our hotel and highly recommended by the travel guide (3 stars). Thanks to my iPhone's Google map, after many left and right turns, we found this small restaurant alongside of a small canal. We chose to sit inside of the restaurant because it was too hot outside. We ordered Scallops Au Gratin with Citrus Crust, Trofie Pasta with Clams and Shrimps, Mixed Salads, Loin of Veal with Madera Wine Sauce. The Salad were really really fresh, like the salads we ate in the other cities in Italy. The Scallops were baked under the citrus crust, therefore they were juicy. The citrus crust added a hint of fresh scent. The pasta was the first real pasta we ate in Italy. I found the pasta wasn't as cooked as we tasted in the US, therefore it was a bit hard and chewy. The clams and shrimps were very tasty and not over cooked. The veal is the best of all. The meat was tender, and the sauce was divine: rich yet not filling, the aroma of the Madera wine sauce could be felt from mouth to nose directly. Paired with the house red wine, this was the best veal I ever ate. The restaurant wasn't in the tourist area so sitting outside alongside of canal would be great. The waiter was friendly. We were happy with our meal.
