I'm so sad that the last few experiences I've had at BP have just been so bad! I used to love this place, and I go quite often (5-7 times a year) with groups of girlfriends for brunch and birthdays. It was our go-to place! I've spent so much money here over the years, but it has gone downhill for sure in quality and service.
To start with, the service has been terrible. We are either super rushed by the servers to order, and then before our food if even done the bill is brought out. No refilling of waters/drinks, no asking how our meals were... borderline rude to us every time, like they couldn't give a rip about us being there.
Secondly, the actual food has been only ok at best. The potatoes taste old mushy and reheated 10 times, the muffins and coffee cake were dry and no way fresh....for the cost of food here, it's quite embarrassing for it to be so bad lately!
My most recent visit, when all of us clearly hadn't eaten most of our breakfasts, the server didn't ask if it was ok, just gave me the bill. When I said it didn't taste fresh, (again, we maybe ate 1/4 of the meal), she said she could take off $5. I spent $87 on 4 breakfasts, all were pretty bad and most uneaten. I never asked to be comped, but $5?
I simply will now be taking my business elsewhere. But for the sake of the community and regulars, I hope Beach Plum can get their service and food back up to par.
