Beach Road Fish House & Chicken Dinners

Evesham about Beach Road Gish House was great. We arrived when they opened so it wasn't busy yet. The menu has many offerings, large portions, and great prices. The service and attentiveness was spot on. We enjoyed our calamari appetizer, and our two-way dishes with fish and chicken was hot when it arrived to the table and fresh. There is something for everyone. Everything was seasoned well, and there were no complaints about anything.

I hate dirty restaurants. I understand when a restaurant is busy that it takes a minute to clean a table or sweep trash and food up off the floor. That is not the problem here. There is no excuse for a bartender or a server to walk past filthy tables, trash, or leftover dirty plates, and walk away empty-handed. That is just lazy. We sat at the bar waiting for a table for about 15 to 20 minutes and we were sitting in the debris of three previous groups. I watched the groups leave before we sat down and saw the bartender ignore the mess they left behind. The bartender had made eye contact with me, and still didn’t come to provide service. I had to ask the host if the bartender would serve us at the bar. And after she spoke with us twice, still made no effort to wipe the bar down or pick up the trash from it. I asked her to do so. she did it with a soaking wet rag and left the bar, a wet sloppy mess. The server did the same thing when she wiped down our table. I had to ask her to bring us dry napkins, so we could dry the table before we put anything on it. Both dining rooms were a disaster. 5-6 tables remained stacked high with trash and leftover food with servers, at least 5 of them, walking back-and-forth between these empty tables with empty hands and not bothering to pick up a thing. The food was mediocre, The fried shrimp was mushy. The fried fish was over cooked and dried out. The cheesy grits were flavorless. The conch fritters were undercooked. The fried chicken gizzards were too large and so poorly dressed before cooking that they were so gristly that both of us spit them out into our napkins. I’m a farm boy from the Midwest. I’ve eaten a lot of chicken gizzards, and these were not right. The fried chicken and sweet potato fries were the only things truly properly prepared. I’d probably give the food 2-3 stars at best. The service, once you got their attention, was friendly, but still slow and uneven. I would give service 3 stars as well. Needless to say we won’t eat in a place as filthy as this again. I won’t go into detail about the bathrooms, but they were a disgusting mess too. I realize my photos may make the food look better prepared than it is. I’ll admit I touched things up in Photoshop.

This place has been on our radar for a while so we decided to give it a try for date night. After a short wait we were seated and greeted by Maddie, who took great care of us! The food was outstanding and the portions were huge! If anyone goes home hungry then it's their own fault. We definitely left full and happy with some yummy leftovers for later! Hope to come back soon!

Rudy was awesome! Started off with fried gator tail with house made sauce, which was amazing. Long island and the blackberry vodka drinks were tasty as well. Definitely go for blackened mahi over broiled. Salmon and trigger were to die for as well. Creamy potatoes and bacon collards were perfect sides. A chocolate martini finished off the night. We'll be back!

Brought home take out for a fun birthday meal in Jacksonville Florida. The chicken is crispy and delicious and juicy and reminds me of what south should taste like in your mouth. Biscuits were a total hit, tall and flaky and ready for buttering up. Tried the deviled eggs and they were superb with a special Beach Road twist. Next time I’m trying some seafood.

Wonderful place for lunch. Understated decor, but the food is the star here. When you arrive, ask for Ashley as her knowledge of the menu makes the visit that much more enjoyable. She is pleasant and attentive - two attributes anyone is the service industry should have!

Great service, great outdoor area. Grouper bites were delicious. The oysters were okay, the shrimp and sides were good. Buy one get one for beer and wine at happy hour was also great deal.

I love this place! I go enough. Today I decided to take my dog out to brunch, he had a ruff night and they have out door seating. They were amazing! I obviously couldn't bring the dog in the restaurant so I just called and let them know that I was outside wanting to have brunch with my dog and they sent someone right out. Both the hostess and the server loved on my dog and brought him water. My server, Mary M was extra amazing... Gave my dog pets and all sorts of attention every time she came out to check on me, kept the bottomless mimosas flowing and even took pictures of me with my dog out to brunch.
