The food was excellent! The waitress we had was fantastic. Very nice place overlooking the water. It's not a huge menu. But, there are enough different things to choose from. Great wine selection. Highly recommend!

Looking for the perfect dinner spot on Martha’s Vineyard? Look no further than Beach Road, a top-rated restaurant that offers a delightful dining experience. Located conveniently on the Vineyard, this restaurant is easy to get to and offers stunning views, especially during sunset. During my visit, I was warmly welcomed by my waitress, Christiana, who was not only personable but also made excellent recommendations. Her service truly elevated the evening. I started my meal with the cast iron cornbread, which was well worth the 15-minute wait. Moist and flavorful, it came with sea salt and honey butter that complemented the dish perfectly. For my first drink, I chose the Picante Hour, a tequila cocktail with a spicy kick—perfect for those who enjoy a bit of heat in their drinks. The Spanish octopus I had as an appetizer was outstanding, easily one of the best I’ve ever tasted. The octopus was perfectly cooked, and the salsa bravas sauce added a delightful depth of flavor. For my entrée, I enjoyed the Atlantic cod, which was cooked to perfection and paired beautifully with parsnip cream and roasted baby carrots. Although I was too full to try the butterscotch whiskey pudding, it’s definitely on my list for my next visit. I ended the meal with an espresso martini, which was a perfect blend, especially with the addition of Baileys. Beach Road is a must-visit for anyone on Martha’s Vineyard. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just looking for a great place to relax and enjoy a meal with a view, this restaurant should be at the top of your list.

We had a great time at Beach Road: the view is spectacular, the service is attentive, the atmosphere is relaxing, and the food is good. We got the rather filling focaccia and the top-notch tempuras which was served piping hot, fresh, and light. A delight. For the main course, I got the bouillabaisse, which has light - but tasty - broth and some mussels, lobster, a langoustine, and some clams. I wish there were fish, as the marseillais serve it, and fewer mussels (nice but not upscale). The soup came with a tasty toasted bread creatively spread with rouille. The rouille itself lacked some zinger but I did enjoy the dish which brought back some memories from home. My date got the pasta and lobster. Although the lobster and pasta were reportedly very tasty, the sauce was super garlicky which forced her to get some maalox later on. It was also a particularly generous pasta serving, we could not finish it. After that, there was no room for desert. Next time. For drinks, I thoroughly enjoyed a grapefruit thief and a decent rosé provençal. My date got the aligoté which was fine. Some prices are absurd, such as $52 for a bottle of 2021 Muscadet, a well known bad year for a wine which is known as being cheap and cheerful. Anyhow, we got a great time and we’ll definitely be back.

The food was outstanding and the staff was amazing. The views from the restaurant, gorgeous and each unique dish was well prepared. My daughter especially loved the panda cups that the check comes in 🐼🎋

Google
One of the best places to eat on the Island. We split the crab appetizer, halibut, and garganelli. Everything was delicious and the pasta was one of the best I’ve ever had. The sangria was also gingery, unique, and refreshing. Great staff, too.

Google
5 stars for the food and ambiance. 4 stars for the cocktails. Would happily return.

Yelp
Beach Road is one of my favorite restaurants on Martha's Vineyard. From their Mocktails and Cocktails. The brilliant wine list always charms and the freshest seafood and vegetables grace your plate. Portions are not overwhelming and the service is kind and personal. I feel welcome always. The view at dusk is superlative. Where else has windows like this? World class food. Simply prepared, with love. And those oysters!!!!

Yelp
Outstanding food and beautiful scenery inside and out! We had dined at the sister restaurant, State Road, previously, so we had high hopes. The food did not disappoint. We had the fried chicken and the NY strip loin, which were both outstanding. The strip loin tasted like it was cold smoked, making it incredibly flavorful. The fried chicken was crispy and moist with great spicy accompaniments. Our young daughter was accommodated with some buttered noodles with Parmesan cheese. We ordered the freshly baked cornbread too with honey butter for an appetizer too, which is a must have! It came late, so we were comped it at the end. Cocktails were great too. Service was okay, not overly friendly or attentive, but got the job done. Overall, highly recommend for a special night out.

Yelp
Amazing cocktails. Great service. Beautiful setting. Excellent meal... crab toast, grilled octopus (one of the best I've had), fried chicken (also one of the best I've had). The only disappointment was the butterscotch pudding dessert (not much taste). our server asked me what I thought about the butterscotch pudding and I told her I didn't like it... she took it off our bill. Very nice gesture and she got it all back on her tip. I'll be back!

Vicky L.

Yelp
Probably the best food on the island. It's not too fussy yet it's refined. It's fresh and it's delicious. All of meat, fish and vegetable prep were great. And the view and the cocktails were also terrific.

Yelp
Celebrated our wedding anniversary at Beach Road. Last year we celebrated at State Road, and they had a little gift for us and recognized the event. I informed Beach Road when I made the reservation, but they didn't acknowledge it at all. So that was the disappointing part. However, the food was great and our server, Sam C. was wonderful. She really made it fun and special. My husband had the lamb meatballs and loved them. (I don't like lamb.) I tried the shrimp tempura appetizer, and it was delicious! 6 delicious shrimp and some tempura green beans too. Highly recommend. Fun drinks too. My grilled pineapple and ginger infused tequila cocktail was delicious. My husband loved his bourbon amaro cocktail too. We both commented that the flavors were distinct and layered, and they weren't too sweet. My main course bouillabaisse was delicious, with the largest aioli toast! Flavor was spot on. It's difficult to find a mixed shellfish dish on Martha's Vineyard, that isn't a pasta. My husband loved his lobster pasta, with lots of lobster. We shared the delicious chocolate mousse cake with fresh berries. Again, not too sweet! The decor is very nice, with a beautiful view of the pond, if it is light out. One thing, pillows for the banquet seats would be helpful. Both I, and the woman in the next seat over, were trying to stuff our coats behind us to make the seating more comfortable.

Yelp
If you enjoy paying top dollar for mediocre food and bad service this is your place. Anybody that checks my reviews can tell that I am very understanding of how difficult it is to operate a restaurant BUT this place is poorly run, mismanaged and overpriced in comparison to a basic clam shack up the road. Not only is the food of average quality but the wait staff will attempt to pad the bill with unnecessary charges and when management is confronted with this deceitful practice they blame the customer. I was told "if that's your opinion" as if I am a con artist. If you want good food go to Sandy's up the block or for a nice Lobster net result next door.

Yelp
During our trip to Martha's Vineyard last fall, we visited Beach Road Restaurant. We arrived shortly before they opened for dinner, and there were more than a handful of people waiting outside. We didn't make a reservation, but we were able to get counter seats before it filled up. We started our dinner with some cocktails. I ordered Sangria and my hubby ordered Gentleman's Agreement. Sangria didn't look like Sangria, it had no fruit, and not fruity at all, and not sweet. Gentleman's Agreement was inventive and creative. I liked it much more than the Sangria. For appetizer, we ordered Brioche Bread with Chive Butter. It was impressive just to look at, beautifully baked to golden color, with soft, fluffy, cloud-like inside. The chive butter was great too. I totally understand the popularity of it. After just one bite, you will also fall in love with this loaf... Oysters, half dozen comes in an order, three different kinds. The oysters were fresh, not fishy, and delicious! For main, I chose Lobster Linguini. First few bites were sinful and delightful, but then it became a bit too salty for me. The flavor of the dish was great though, if it were just slightly less salty, it would have been perfect. My hubby chose Halibut, it was so good! Perfectly crunchy on top, with flaky and moist fillet, delicious! We had a lovely dinner there, with tasty drinks and food. I definitely recommend the Brioche, it is to die for!

Yelp
As our stay in Chilmark, Martha's Vineyard was coming to an end, decided to travel to Vineyard Haven for a meal. Had tried take-out from State Road (sister restaurant) during the pandemic) and thought Beach Road should be a good choice. The setting was welcoming with a beautiful view of Lagoon Pond. Four of us shared a Summer Salad, Pan con Tomate and Lamb Meatballs complimented by cocktails. The salad consisting of local greens, cukes, strawberries, feta and sunflower seeds with a champagne vinaigrette tasted as if the ingredients had just been picked up from a garden. The sourdough toast and roasted tomatoes were enhanced with garlic confit, white anchovies and chives. The lamb meatballs had fregola and a harissa yogurt. As I write this review I still can not decide which of the appetizers was the best Two people had the Artic Char, and we also had the Lobster Pasta and Bouillabaisse. The main dishes were superb and my Bouillabaisse was extraordinary. The Butterscotch whiskey pudding and Crostata with berries were a delicious way to end a superb meal. Taryn deserves our compliments as well, since she delivered outstanding service which complemented the kitchen staff.

Yelp
Great menu and sister restaurant to a favorite, State Rd. They make a conscious effort to have different menus at each restaurant. Highly recommend both of them from this restaurant group.

Dane W.

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant! Friendly staff! Owners are super nice! Treat you like friends! Top notch food!

Rachel M.

Yelp
Who knew cabbage could taste so good! Favorite thing we ordered I think. I've also been getting the lobster pasta every time I've went since last year because it's so damn good. Everything 10/10. Didn't have a reservation but luckily got seated at the bar!

Harshini V.

Yelp
Beach Road is a must visit restaurant on Marta's Vineyard! The restaurant has a great ambiance and the food is amazing! We ordered the oysters, shrimp tempura, crab roll and lobster ravioli. It was delicious!

Yelp
The only reason this place isn't getting a 0 is because once seated the service was fine. Upon arrival after making a reservation 2 other parties were seated before us despite arrhh ig ving after we did and I overheard both saying their reservations were after ours. After waiting 30 minutes to be seated we finally were at arguably the worst table in the house. As stated above our waitress was great, wish I'd gotten her name. The food was subpar at best. After ordering we were informed that the table seated right before us (the ones who arrived after us and had a reservation at a later time than us) had ordered the last of one of the dishes we'd heard about and frankly was the only reason we decided to go. The clam chowder was more of a soup than anything as it was watery and tasted more of miso than of clams, the crab rolls tasted of chives and mayo exclusively. I got zero crab flavor in the entire dish despite it seemingly being filled with crab. The brussel sprouts were good but all in all I left hungrier than when I arrived and was out a good sum of money because of the subpar food. Many better places on the island to go and some within walking distance. I would definitely not recommend.

Will V.

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant and the view is quite nice. The service is good. Food is good but over priced.

Chris W.

Yelp
The food was great! Too bad we waited an hour and forty five minutes for it with no explanation or apology from the manager!! The waitress was very nice though...

Tom C.

Yelp
Went for dinner the other night. The local oysters were fine. Compared to the "spear points oysters I had in February they were good but listless. Dinner was fine. Two weeks later we had to look at the menu to remind us what we had. Prime cut of (?) steak with marrow spread was good Pasta with (?) seafood was ok But for $200.00 bucks plus a good tip should be memorable for us working restaurant slobs

Liz L.

Yelp
We went for dinner on a Thursday night and LOVED it. Easy to make reservations online and got in the same day. The service was fast and friendly, and everything we tried (one item from every section of the menu!) was amazing. Will be back anytime we're on the island! Highly recommend the oyster's, clam chowder, crab rolls, short rib, and butterscotch pudding.

Yelp
This is a pretty restaurant with a great view. We went for $1 oysters and drinks. One big disappointment: oyster special is 5-6 pm. We arrived at 5:15. All bar seats were already occupied by oyster fans. They save all the regular tables for dinner eaters, though most of those tables were still empty at 6. We waited in the entry way, and finally got bar seats at 5:50, and placed our oyster order. We had an excellent and chipper bartender, with a cool short haircut and many tattoos. She got us happy again. The oysters were from a farm in MV. I have been spoiled by good Wellfleet oysters on Cape, and these MV ones were not as good. But good enough! We tried two drinks from their seasonal cocktail menu plus one traditional martini with Hendrix gin. Their devised recipes too sweet. The traditional good, but no olives??? Regular menu looks good. Moral of story: get there before 5 for $1 oysters. Enjoy the lovely view. I liked how they show off their bread when you enter.

W C.

Yelp
We came here a couple nights ago after having made the reservation several weeks ago. We wanted to invite an extra family member and when we called to change the reservation, the hostess gave us SUCH a hassle and made it seem as if our party of 5 was already going to be a tight squeeze. And what's the scene when we get there? Half empty tables and we are at a 6-top that could EASILY accommodate 7 people. That's the problem with this place: it's just way too self-important. Drinks are good. We were personally unimpressed with the oysters although someone else at our table thought they were fine. Caesar salad was great. And we loved everything about the sea scallops app except that they were barely lukewarm--gross. The sourdough bread was tough and did not taste fresh but we loved the shallot butter. For dinner, all of us shared the lobster linguine (favorite dish of the night; seriously delicious with a healthy amount of lobster); the fried chicken was pretty good but didn't seem like anything extraordinary; hot dog was pretty good!; halibut divided the table--two of us enjoyed it and two of us didn't love it. Serving it with the eggplant was certainly unique. For dessert, we ordered the dark chocolate pistachio bar, which was delicious, and not sure what we were expecting but it was a literal chocolate bar, like the ones that you can pick up in Whole Foods. I mean, OK, but in a restaurant? Service got the job done but had a hauteur that we did not appreciate (see above re. self-importance). So, overall, some aspects of the meal were wonderful and others less so. We wish this place hadn't fudged up our reservation because then we would have been in better spirits about it. Three stars for now--curious if this place will make it for the long haul on the Vineyard.

Susan M.

Yelp
Creative menu, expert service, all overlooking boats on a saltwater pond. It all just feels exquisite.

Heidi M.

Yelp
The ambiance and venue has a great blend of new and island traditional. Very quaint and comfy! The food was good, nothing great. The bouillabaisse was bland so a bit disappointing as the seafood was good - just nothing special. The frisee salad was too much frisée and not enjoyable to eat without more variety to break up the stem lettuce. The fries were yummy! The drinks good!

Rachel M.

Yelp
Updated to five stars because more covid friendly and service was faster! Favorites were the scallops and toast appetizers and lobster linguini still fire. Chicken meatballs seemed to be hyped up too much on prior reviews , but really no complaints to be made. Good work beach road

Janice G.

Yelp
We settled on dinner here for our last night night. Everything was delicious . Wine excellent. Oysters fresh & tasty. We each ordered different dish- Halibut was crisp, and moist with tasty side tastes of eggplant & tomato. My husband had the lobster linguine- rich & flavorful with pesto & arugula ! The ambience is lovely- serene. Definitely worth a visit! We live in NYC & know good food ! Yes

Elizabeth S.

Yelp
We enjoy the food and oysters here while overlooking the bay. The staff is friendly and efficient. Food comes out pretty quickly and the room is comfortable.

Madeline A.

Yelp
Great food, beautiful interior, and beautiful views when it is light out! Definitely a good place for a celebration or nice dinner.

Sheila B.

Yelp
What a massive improvement from state road . Fresh seafood. My favorites included$1 oysters, crudo, crispy fried chicken and lobster roll . We went twice this week and really enjoyed ourselves . The s'mores cup was the best dessert , the ice cream sandwhich was a second favorite . Highly recommend a nice fine dining spot with a large menu to please even the youngest foodies. Definitely check out the $1 oysters 5-6 everyday

Keith K.

Yelp
oh, that was then, this is wow! went for my birthday, seafood tower! OMG! delicious! perfect Plymouth Gin gimlets and raw bar tower of power! so much fun and everything was DELICIOUS!

Ruth L.

Yelp
I was so excited when Beach Road opened for takeout. We have always enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant, especially off-season. So tonight, I ordered the Lobster Linguini ($38). It was very tasty. However, to call this menu item Lobster Linguini is a stretch. The dish was a pasta primavera with a light creme sauce and flecks of lobster - if there was 2 Tbls of tiny pieces of lobster I would be very surprised. The other dishes we ordered had small portions for big prices, as well. I do not mind paying for a good meal, but the "lobster" linguini was insulting to the customer. I am sorry to say: you lost me Beach Road.

Nicole D.

Yelp
Found this place on Pinterest and I'm so glad I did! This place was probably the highlight of my trip to MV. Monday through Saturday 5-6 you MUST try their "buck a shuck" oysters. I've never had oysters this delicious, ever. Get there a little before 5 so you get a seat at the bar, as this deal is promoted for at the bar only. The first time we went we weren't aware how limited the bar seats were, thankfully they were accommodating enough to let us sit at a high top right next to the bar and get the oyster deal. They were so good that we ordered 4 dozen between the 4 of us! Beautiful ambience, nice water view. And they sell cute little trinkets, fairly over priced but cute nonetheless. Definitely will be back for oysters and dinner!

Tatika F.

Yelp
Disappointing food. Brussel sprouts were good, but pancetta was over cooked and hard to chew, most of the charred cabbage was tasty - remaining 1/3 was burnt and not enjoyable. Do not order the swimmer blue crab appetizers. We were seated at the "wrong" table and made to move... The server was the only bright spot. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.

Dan Z.

Yelp
This acclaimed restaurant delivered exceedingly good environment, particularly as we visited today before the peak season. The views through the windows, as well as the reflection of such in the wide mirror at the back of the bar, are just tranquil and pleasant. However, I can not say the same for the food, at least those specific ones ordered today. The gumbo was excessively salty, to the extent that my wife asked for extra rice and hot water and managed to remix everything on the table to make it more edible--- I appreciate that the waitress fulfilled our request for such item, but thinking back, it's surprising that whoever was cooking or managing the place didn't bother to talk to us and understand the cause for this. The hot dog has "favorite" sausage, which is good-- however the fries were also on the salty side, though not as clearly excessive as the gumbo. The brussels were clearly over seasoned, to the extent that we didn't finish that appetizer even sharing among three. It's ironic that the main reason we asked for a brulee cake was to counter the excessively salty dishes, and indeed it was very sweet... I can tell all the ingredients were very high quality, but I hate to say that the cuisine didn't deliver a quality I would expect, based on the fame for this place as well as all other comparably priced restaurants we enjoyed in the region over the same weekend.

Victoria T.

Yelp
Went here with a group of 12 adults/kids, and easily spent about $1000 (including tip), so this restaurant definitely earns its $$$. Since it was such a huge party, we were able to reserve their private room with a decent view of outside. (Per Yelp reviews, I thought the view would be better.) We started with some beers, a bottle of wine, and Bread Boxes (some were savory, some were sweet). Then, the adults ordered an obscene amount of oysters and the Due East Tower (a 2 ft tall tower of raw seafoods). The presentation was gorgeous and the seafood was very fresh; frankly, this was the best part of the meal. Collectively, we ordered the Catch of the Day (Seared Tuna), Whole Fish of the Day, Sea Scallops, Fried Chicken and an absurd amount of fries and hushpuppies on the side. The kids absolutely loved their meals (fries and tiny bits of fish), but the adults were less enthused. (The entrees were good, but sort of flavorless, and on the small side portion-wise.) I would still recommend this restaurant for a fancy dinner for two that focused on the raw bar, but I probably won't be back unless it's on someone else's dime.

Dawn T.

Yelp
Very solid dining experience all the way around! We started out with the cucumber salad. It was off the hook awesome! Delicate slivers of cucumber rolled up with feta cheese and drizzled with olive oil and three types of mint and other herbs. Absolutely delicious! My husband had the linguini and clams (a few more clams could have made their way onto this dish without too much cut into the restaurant's profits). Otherwise, really good! I had the fried chicken. It was good, but I probably should have chosen something different. Service was excellent! We'd definitely go back!

Hilary M.

Yelp
With limited meals on the Vineyard, we wanted to come because of the view. While we chose the restaurant for being on the water, we were surprised by our dining experience (in a good way). When you walk in the vibe is sophisticated nautical (if that can even be used as design term)? We were also happy because they had alcohol (Vineyard Haven is dry), so we were already off to a good start. We were happy and lucky to snag reservations as we saw them turn away walk-ups even after Labor Day (the island is significantly less crowded after Labor Day). We enjoyed sitting by the floor to ceiling windows. The bar has a mirror so you can look at the water from the bar (smart). The food menu was creative and fresh ingredients. Super friendly wait staff, and good pours of wine for the Vineyard-- We already can't wait for our next trip back to Beach Road next Summer.

Sarah J.

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant with decent food We went twice in one day, once for happy hour, once for dinner. Oyster happy hour at the bar (5-6pm) was a dream: stunning view, friendly bartenders, quality oysters. Dinner left something to be desired. Food came out rather quickly for a restaurant at its price point (yes I'm complaining food was served TOO quick, apps out in 5 min, entrees out 10 min after we finished apps). The food was disappointingly mediocre. The short rib bao was salty and could've used some sweetness, the seafood was completely lost in the crab and lobster campechana, the Brussels sprouts at the bottom of the bowl was drowning in ponzu so too salty to eat. The saving grace was the fried chicken. Lesson: come at 5 for the happy hour, go elsewhere for dinner.

Jeff K.

Yelp
Another trip to the Beach Road Restaurant and another phenomenal meal had by all. The oyster special might have you waiting in line for when the open but I'll tell you it's just the start of an amazing culinary experience. From the attentive staff, including the bartenders, work the bar seats like sailing on a calm sea. They're in sync which is something a lot of Vineyard restaurants are missing during a busy summer season. Not here at Beach Road, they're firing on all cylinders. The drink menu is well thought out, the atmosphere is friendly enough if you want to reach out to another person at the bar it's easy to have a conversation but if you want to remain in your own little safe space it's easy to do and hear your companion. Both romantic and comfortable you won't regret your trip to Beach Road Restaurant.

Lynn C.

Yelp
I've been back a few times since my original review and there's just nothing bad to say. While I'm still obsessed with the halibut, I've tried the linguini with clams and made it for $1 oysters. Everything is just amazing. When I feel like a I want nice meal, Beach Road is at the top of my list because the food is so consistently delicious. Also, Caitlin at the bar deserves a special mention...her drinks are so creative and the flavor combos are amazing. It would be a challenge to find better cocktails on the island.

Andi B.

Yelp
Happy Hour $1 oysters (5-6p daily)!! I'm not sure if this will be a deal all summer (I caught it in October at the end of season and now in May) but it is a great deal for fabulous oysters (and at $3 an oyster during regular hours, it is average in terms of cost for oysters on the Vineyard). Bonus? Their cocktail selection is always intriguing. The herb infused drinks are a big hit with the oysters. Love & Happiness (strawberry & ginger infused tequila with lavendar) was perfectly crisp and just a tad sweet. My favorite-- Spring Darling-- with rhubarb infused vodka and fennel-- had a wonderfully tart finish. We did not have food off of the menu (just oysters) but everything looked good. The service was incredible. Another bonus? It is just a beautiful space.

Johanna W.

Yelp
Upon entering the restaurant we were impressed by the lovely atmosphere, beautiful views and decor. We really enjoyed the smaller dining room which was warm, rustic and romantic. The meal was absolutely amazing, 5 stars on everything :) - creative, fresh, delicious, health-conscious food. We shared apps- pan roasted sea scallops with caviar and cucumber salad, I had the bibimbap (amazing), my boyfriend had the porkchop which he enjoyed.. cocktails were delicious made with fresh local summer fruit and not overly sweet. Dessert was the ice cream sandwich....I don't usually eat such things but this- this completely homemade with chocolate frosted chocolate cookies sandwiching vanilla ice cream- this, I could not resist. It was the most delicious thing I've had in a long time. Wish I could go back for round 2 but I'll need to wait til next year!

Diane B.

Yelp
Cuisine Disappointing, location Stunning The view over Lagoon POND will never disappoint. Just before sundown it's beautiful. The decor is simple and pleasant. This is a seafood restaurant, so the fact that we had fried chicken and ribs may color our less than enthusiastic review. This is our second visit. The fried chicken is ok, with a very thick bready crust without much flavor. It did arrive hot and crisp, pieces on the smaller side, but acceptable. Mashed potatoes were luscious. The food, a B at best. The ribs, a huge portion, have a small amount of sticky sweet sauce ( not dry rub as reported by our waitress) and were tender but oddly flavorlessThe hominy was just awful as was the ropey almost inedible greens with bacon, all very vinegar soaked. The apple crisp was beyond outstanding and fresh. I'd go back for the view alone. Try the fish. It has to be better.

Walter W.

Yelp
You advertise dollar oysters 5-6, yet don't allow any overflow to tables near the bar once the bar is full, so even though you have a completely empty dining room, you lose customers by turning them away.... We went to Seafood Shanty instead, they were very welcoming and had a much better view! I suppose you just don't need the business or want to make people feel welcome or wanted. Good luck to you....

Tina N.

Yelp
Year two back for more culinary cusine. Appetizers Oysters local sweetneck tasty $9 for six, unfortately my serrver did not pay attention to detail hot sause bottle was not cleaned so no hot sause came out and I like my hot sause on oysters. We final tracked another server for a fresh bottle. So good! Chowder $12 was amazing and a nice size bowl. Hint of Smokey bacon lots of clams. Great for a cold fall night. Leslie's bread Nori $9 Breads where tasty little too much salt for our taste on some and didn't taste the honey, honey I'm the butter. Main course my husband Pan Roasted Sea Scallops & Caviar. $24 Very tasty but didn't find the flavor of caviar they offered either 3 or 5 plate He choose 3. No sides nor did server offer or recommend. I had the Lobster & Crap Champechana $20 Chow chow avocado Serrano tomato water. Very flavorful chunks of tender pieces of lobster and crab. I'd order it again. Desert we shared a Butterscotch wiskey pudding $10 and hubby had coffee which was served with two almond cookies that blew the pudding out the door. Pudding wiskey flavor was lost as well as consistace and butterscotch flavor.I'd order the cookie plate next time. Server seem to loose interest in us as dinner progressed. By the time the check came I felt like she really didn't care if we where satisfied with our meal. Not someone I'd want to wait on me again. Last year was so amazing we asked to speak with chef to let him know how happy we we're and the service. I don't know if I'd go again.

Yelp
We have been eating at restaurants on the Vineyard for 20 + years. We had our hopes up because we LOVE State Road restaurant, and the owners are the same. State Road was closed tonight. Make no mistake, there is not much in common. We called to make a reservation and they didn't have any, so we joined a waiting list. We were thrilled when they called us offering a 6:30 pm reservation. We arrived and the hostess greeted us with "there is no record of that name" and then " there is no record of that number." When I showed the incoming call from the restaurant at 4:07 pm, she said "I'm not going through all of that" and seated us without a smile or any conciliatory comment. Less than welcoming and nothing like our experiences at State Road. The bread was delicious. The menu is limited at Beach Road, and we came home smelling like fried food and feeling like we should have selected one of the many other restaurants we have come to enjoy on the Vineyard. Our waitress was very nice and we have no complaints about her service. However, we won't be back. It's unfortunate because the decor and location are lovely, but the menu is lacking, the atmosphere is not welcoming, and the greeting set the tone for a mediocre-leaning towards negative experience.

Yelp
I have never been to a more pretentious restaurant on the island. The hostess dressed in her Lily Pulitzer clothing demanded that my wife and I return to the hostess stand because we sat ourselves at the bar. The bar tender was very nice yet slightly arrogant because of her New York city upbringings. The dollar oysters was a great deal but for $10 wine was just OK. The draft selection was suboptimal.

Yelp
Amazing lobster linguini, stunning view of the water- very peaceful spot, great ambiance and decor. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Promising menu, but poor execution. 4 out of the 6 dishes we ordered were either disgustingly over salted (salads) or sitting in a puddle of olive oil (pastas). Used to be better, but the past two times we've eaten here the dishes have been way too salty. Will not be returning.

Yelp
We really enjoyed our dinner at Beach Road. The restaurant was packed for a Monday night and having arrived sans reservations we were seated at the bar. The bartenders were great as was the food. We started with a tuna tartar and followed that up with small plates of seared scallops with lentils and an eggplant tofu involtini which, even being something I wouldn't ever order on my own, was delicious. We'll definitely return next summer.

Yelp
I have been coming to the Vineyard for 10 + years have never experienced a host and bar staff that discriminates to the level of Beach Road. So sad that such a beautiful restaurant(decor wise) can behave in such a way that the person paying the bill feels as if they are not welcome. I hope that the ownership can figure out what is going on with the staff. Horrible service with a dismissive attitude. I'm not food savvy, so they couldn't certainly made me feel like the $75 I spent was at least worth it.

Yelp
Best restaurant on the island. The fried chicken is a MUST have !!! Also the French fries and the avocado dip is 10/10. You have to try this place if you haven't yet!
