"This flip-flop-friendly Topsail Beach restaurant changes menu features like the changing tides, but the agave elote margarita is one of the more unique drink offerings. Milagro silver tequila and fresh lime juice get sweetened with house syrup made from corn tortillas and fresh corn juice. Garnished with torched corn on a cob, it’s a little “corny” but should be tried at least once." - Nikki Miller-Ka, Stephanie Burnette

My husband and I haven’t eaten here in years but it might have been even better than we remembered. Delicious food, drinks and dessert. Caesar salad, milk bread, crab cakes, and key lime pie. Plus their version of an old fashioned and a martini. Just delightful! Service at the bar was perfect. Kudos to bartender Erica, she was perfect.

Over the many years I’ve been coming to Topsail, I’ve rarely gone out for coffee or brunch. I usually prefer to start my day quietly, sipping coffee while watching the sunrise descend from the southern sky — a peaceful ritual I’ve come to cherish. But this year, I wanted to try something different. I was hoping to find a brunch spot with family that could offer a moment just as special — and I’m happy to say, we found it. We’re not big on appetizers or desserts when it comes to brunch, so we kept it simple: just coffee and our main meals. And honestly, that’s all we needed. The food was fresh and flavorful, the coffee was smooth and satisfying, and the service made us feel genuinely welcome. The atmosphere had that relaxed charm you hope for when you’re on island time. If you’re in search of a brunch spot that feels like a warm, memorable start to your day, Beach Shop & Grill is it. Highly recommend.

Google
We had a reservation for 10. The young blond lady attending to our table was amazing . Top notched service . The food was GREAT for this beach resort town. The atmosphere was upscale but not stuffy and still has a beachy vibe. Hats off to the kitchen for delivering very detailed food plating for a table of 10. The steak was grilled perfectly and was probably the best dish on the menu but so was the crab cakes. Ammmmmazing . The cocktails were special. The only complaint I have is the noise level. It was hard to hear conversations unless you lean in close but the food, drinks and amazing service made up for it

Google
So happy to have found this place - with an ample supply of beach bars & fried seafood spots around town, we were thrilled with the Beach Shop & Grill. Very welcoming staff & bartender, beautiful decor & casual (yet upscale!) atmosphere. Great wine list & a helpful, knowledgeable server. Best fried green tomatoes I’ve ever had! Caesar salad, gnocchi & ribeye were solid. We visit TI annually & have for 20+ years - we’ll be back and look forward to next time.

Google
AMAZING food!!! Prime rib was phenomenal! Service was five star all day long. Shared burrata appetizer with my wife, freaking delicious. Can’t wait to come back. Best food around, hands down. Five stars all day long. Wrote review while waiting on desert. Can’t believe how amazing this food is. Ordered a coffee and got my own French press brought to the table. Damn!!!’ Seriously- there is no need to ever eat anywhere else. WOW

Google
We have been dining here for years and LOVE the upgraded menu and wine list. The food is probably the best in 100 miles and the wine list covers every base. Service was outstanding. It’s not an inexpensive experience but worth every Penny for the discerning pallet😬 Seafood or land fare you won’t be disappointed

Food & drinks are always great, atmosphere is wonderful and the service is remarkable. This was our first time going there for brunch, definitely will be back.

Yelp
Great food, great service. All four in our party loved their dishes! Food was so much better than last time we were there and waitress told us there is a new chef. So happy to have this restaurant on Topsail.

Yelp
We sat at the bar for a casual meal and it was very good. The hostess was very helpful, cheerful and kind to our dog. We also had some great wine recommendations from our bartender Amanda. She did a wonderful job and the customer experience was excellent for us. Do not miss out on our favorite dessert; the chocolate Martinis. We will be back.

Yelp
My family came here for Easter brunch. We were able to make reservations which was nice to not worry about the wait and enjoy our day. Inside decor is really nice and the outside patio even better. Outdoor bar, live greenery wall and beautiful seating area. Definitely wish we could have ate outside but wasn't offered and noticed on our way out. Small shop next door is also really cute! The staff were super friendly and it seemed like they all helped one another out. Our waitress was fantastic! My parents loved their pressed coffee, kids enjoyed Shirley temples and I had a tasty mimosa - yum! For meals the kids have Mac n cheese. It was not your normal Mac. I'd eat it! My dad and I enjoyed the chicken and waffles. Perfect Savory and Sweet combo! No pics but I'd have to say this is the best place on the island. Try it I swear!

Yelp
Truly saddened to non-rec the Beach Shop, but they are just not the same anymore... Took my family for dinner a few nights back and was so very disappointed with the experience. Right as we arrived, the hostess just looked at us like we were peasants who stumbled into the wrong shop. After a few moments of looking over the seating chart of the almost half-empty restaurant, she looked up and informed us that she wouldn't have anything ready for at least an hour. Not wanting to leave due to previously positive experiences, we killed the hour across the street with our daughter at the community play ground. After coming back, she literally looked like we were a massive inconvenience that she hoped wouldn't return. We waited another few minutes before being directed to a table. After seating, our waiter gave us half glasses of room temp water, took some quick orders, and then went about his duties. Went our food came, my order was wrong and took time to get it corrected. When I finally received my order, my family had already finished and simply sat there watching. Even though the flavor of my meal was good, half of it was just a glob of cooked fat and not exactly worth the $26 they were charging... Portions are small and they charge a premium for subpar choices. Staff might as well just wear t-shirts and flip flops because they act like they are serving at a mismanaged hooters. The ambiance was comfy, but I mean that's tough to backtrack on. All in all. The Beach Shop & Grill just isn't what it used to be. While it remains a comfortable place to sit back for an over priced cocktail I'm sure, it is hard to justify the virtually everything else that is overpriced. If you are seeking a "fine dining" option, I'd push a little further South to Wilmington.

Yelp
Still good, but we had awful service tonight. Rude waitress made us both feel uncomfortable with each interaction. Asked for a lime for my water, lime never came. No offers for another drink, I had to keep speaking up repeatedly to make sure we got her attention. If we had not, I never would have gotten more drinks. At the end, she never brought our to-go containers. We straight up just said "screw it, not worth getting from her", service was that bad. Fortunately, the drinks were amazing and we could get through the rough service. Still, it was not a fun experience, unlike past meals here.

Yelp
Came back again 2 years later from my first review and safe to say this place hits the mark time and time again! Service was prompt and excellent, we enjoyed an array of dishes and had an excellent meal. The scallops were cooked to perfection, the fish special was seasoned amazingly. Everything here is spot on!

Sue W.

Yelp
Amazing service, ambiance and food. The wine list is fabulous as were the specialty drinks. The ability to meld flavors in the entrees was superb. And then there were the desserts. Key lime pie to die for!

Sandi W.

Yelp
Great place!!! Food was delush, drinks tasty!!! Service was excellent!! We'll be back!!!

Yelp
We tried coming during the summer but walk-ins had a 4hr wait. Made reservations and tried again. Menu changes weekly. It's by the beach, take a stroll. Public access right there. Has an amazing outside bar and a store attached. Waitstaff was amazing- we had Sam and McKenzie - Don't be afraid to ask for something you MAY have seen looking at the website - they have and "off menu" No key lime pie The drinks were amazing!!!! Ridleys relief and Bourbon orchard. I loved the Ridleys the most. Hope to visit again before we leave the area. It is $$$$$$$$$$ So if you go, prepare for that. It is worth it.

Amanda M.

Yelp
Very selective brunch menu but everything sounded delicious. We started with coffee, iced and French press, and the milk doughnuts. They were just the right amount of sweetness to start brunch off with. We shared the duck fried rice which was very filling and savory. Our server was very knowledgeable of the menu items and gave excellent recommendations. The restaurant is very lovely and was not busy during the brunch hour. I can only imagine how busy they can be at dinner with the wonderful dish options available. They have a souvenir shop attached and I purchased an oyster angel Christmas ornament that was very reasonably priced.

Yelp
Delicious stop when in Topsail! We went for a bachelorette and they did a great job accommodating our party if 11. While we waited for our table we were able to stop at the bar for cocktails and shopped the fun home goods boutique attached to the restaurant. Our server did a great job and took the time to speak to each side of the table so everyone could hear her. There were multiple staff throughout the meal helping with our drink orders and busing. For food we got a variety of small plates that we loved. For our entrees most got the burger, snapper, shrimp and grits or steak. The burger was insanely yummy and insanely rich. Definitely recommend splitting it. Between the fondue and lobster it'll have you ready for a good snooze when you get home. The sauce on the shrimp and grits was so unique and will definitely be my order next time. The steak was well cooked and seasoned. My one complaint was my meal took quite some time to come out so was left waiting while the others got started. I got the snapper and when it arrived the top wasn't crispy skin but rather very soggy and made the meal eat very one note without texture. For the high price point was just a bit disappointing. All in all a great meal and great experience! Would definitely go back when in Topsail.

Yelp
We have been coming here for years! Best food and service on the island! Our server, Savannah, was amazing!

Elise Dixie Jane M.

Yelp
A brilliant guide through gastronomy, fresh local ingredients, and a chef that delivers unique dishes! We devoured our key Lime martinis, appetizers, entrees, and Desserts! I am reviewing far too late and cannot remember the menu items outside of the special Lobster Roll. Made with a fresh homemade brioche bun. What a treat! It was a costly adventure, but worth the experience and the notch quality! Brava, this restaurant is bringing us back to North Topsail!

Yelp
The food was amazing so I'm bummed I have to write this review. We had a dinner reservation and I even received a reminder text saying we were due in 30 minutes. When we arrived, our table wasn't ready yet and the hostess suggested we grab a drink at the bar while we waited. Well, we waited for 15 minutes and were ignored by the bartender when we were clearly waiting for a table. We checked in with the host after 20 minutes of waiting and they said the people at our table were taking longer than expected. I pointed out an empty table for four that looked available, and was initially told we couldn't sit there because someone was coming with a reservation (as I mentioned, we, too, had a reservation). No one else was there waiting for a table so after expressing my concern that we had been waiting at least 25 minutes now we were seated at the open table. Next, no one came by even just to bring water. If they were that busy (they weren't) our server could have come by to let us know she was on her way. Instead, we had to approach the host again who then put our drink order in. Once we actually had a waitress she was very nice and the service was fine. Like I said, this experience was super disappointing because I would have loved to eat there again.

Ugur K.

Yelp
This is the most overrated restaurant as we really did not enjoy our mother's day dinner. The shrimp and grits is no way close what is supposed to be, it was almost like a soup and soggy I would not pay $5 for it but costed $38 , scallops were undercooked not seared properly and not warm enough , garnishes served with it were ice cold. We ordered sliders for my 4 year old son and even he couldn't not eat as I tasted them waaaay tooo salty that I could hardly eat. It was such an disappointment being there and paying around $ 100 for nothing. Waste of time!

Yelp
Wonderful experience here when we were on Topsail Island 2 weeks ago. Biggest recommendation, MAKE RESERVATIONS! This restaurant is very popular Service was excellent, food was creative and delicious. I was a big fan of the pork belly and the waygu and lobster burger! The ajoining gift shop is well worth a stop

Deborah H.

Yelp
Food, menu and ambience was good. However, for the prices they charge the food should be great. We paid $360 for 4 people including tip...for 3 appetizers 4 dinners and 4 drinks We all agreed was overpriced, pretentious, and so so service. Would not return.

Yelp
We made a reservation for 8 people at 7pm for a weeknight in December. The restaurant was packed, and food delicious. Everyone loved the crab cakes and crispy flounder. Milk bread is a must to share at the table. The oysters had no grit, and tasted fantastic with the accompanying vinegar sauce. Crispy Brussels Sprouts were a hit, soaked in a thick yummy sauce. The shrimp and grits pack flavor, but was too spicy for some. Three of us really enjoyed sipping on Ridley's Relief, and the bar tender made them hot for us which made the drink super aromatic and soothing. The ambiance is nice, clean and relaxed with tasteful beach decor, and the attached store is fun to explore while waiting on food; right now most things are 50 percent off! Definitely recommend this restaurant. Super cute and fun, with amazing food. A great night out with family!

Yelp
This has been one of our "go to" places for the last 20 years. It is a treat and we expect it to be pricey but what we didn't expect was to feel ripped off there on a recent visit. Two entrees, a "house bottle" of white wine, and one piece of pie...very close to $200! Needless to say, our "go to" place is GONE from our favorites!

Carey P.

Yelp
We have been coming to Topsail for at least 12 years and this is always our one MUST VISIT restaurant. It is not an inexpensive meal by any stretch but it is faithfully a culinary delight with friendly, enthusiastic, and excellent service. We always end up finding something new to try or learn a new technique. The milk bread appetizer with miso butter was OUT OF THIS WORLD. I think my son will speak of that butter with reverence for the duration of his life. My husband asked if anyone would be embarrassed if he licked the plate clean when we were finished. My son didn't literally lick it but he wiped his finger over every speck to finish that butter. The bread was so unique. The texture. The flavor. The specks of salt flakes. Can't wait to try to recreate this at home. (Forgot to photograph it - oops) The Hamachi Collar appetizer was a huge surprise of the meal and I'm sad I didn't think to photograph it! My daughter ordered bc she saw chorizo in the description and she loooooves chorizo. We are mystified why it said that bc nothing about it seemed to have chorizo. But we learned that the hamachi collar is the collar of the yellowtail located just above the gills and below the head! For as fish loving as we are, none of us knew this. The presentation was fun! And my goodness was the dish DELICIOUS. another one we will remember in the books. Not what we expected at all but turned out amazing nonetheless. The tuna crudo appetizer was both a gorgeous presentation and so so delicious. I don't know what they put on top but the flavor it brought was utterly delicious with the tuna. I actually ate this as my meal, because of my swallowing disorder that makes me eat much slower than my companions as well as needing easier to swallow foods. My son said his wagyu beef was "too five steaks I've ever had" - presentation was beautiful. And teenager was thrilled it was already cut for him so he didn't have to do that work. (Lol - I hope he grows out of his aversion to cutlery some day) - didn't realize my photo missed focus on the beef but it was beautiful. My son will also fondly remember the potato stacks. He got those same ones last year and LOVES them. My husband enjoyed his shrimp and grits - always a favorite dish and it's fun to see how it is executed at different places. The filet mignon was also exquisite with such a beautiful presentation. We also enjoyed the peach dessert with vanilla gelato as well as the panna cotta with honey and honeycomb (which I must say was a perfect, perfect end to the meal and the perfect balance of sweet and smooth texture). As far as being someone with a swallowing disorder and paralyzed vocal cord with diminished speaking voice - they accommodated my issues beautifully. I ordered a nonalcoholic cocktail drink which they graciously served me without ice so I could add my dysphasia aid powder to thicken. it. It seems minor perhaps but for someone struggling to swallow, this is a grace I appreciate beyond words. The waitress didn't make me feel awkward at all having to repeat myself many times due to the background noise and my soft volume. Truly, she was so kind. And lastly, refilling my son's sweet tea at least six times - she deserves an award. Being a southerner who lives in Massachusetts and is without true southern sweet tea, he absolutely eats up every moment he can get it when we visit. The tea was free flowing and both my husband and son said it was spot on perfect. This was our vacation celebration meal as it was also my daughter's15th birthday. Nothing could have made the experience better. As always.

Yelp
This review is for the patio bar only! This was our second annual trip to Topsail and our second annual trip to this bar on the day before we leave. The atmosphere is awesome and the drinks are divine. Our bartender Patrick was great!!! The only thing I wasn't fond of were the prices...both of my cocktails were at least $14 each, which seemed a little pricey, BUT they were so pretty it seemed worth it. I got the Bramble On which is wonderful if you like bourbon, and The Day Drinker which was delightful and not too sweet. My friend got the Up All Night, which was so yummy and the Blueberry Lavender Mojito which she thought was a little sweet. (Our husbands just tried every IPA on the menu LOL.) Very enjoyable afternoon, trying to cheer ourselves up about leaving in the morning. Maybe next year we'll try some food!

Yelp
The best restaurant on Topsail Beach, in my opinion. Well, the best which I was at during my time there. This would be a solid 4 stars in a big city, but for Topsail it gets my coveted 5 stars. Whooopeee! The service at the bar was stellar, so helpful, attentive and pleasant. 5 stars No tap beers, but the local brew in the ice-cold can served in the ice-cold glass was excellent. The wines by the glass, it took 4 tries to get an acceptable red, but good enough. 4 stars for the beverage part of the night. For app, my old friend, but not as old as me, and I split the Crab and Shrimp cakes. Two on the plate, solid crab and shrimp meat, and big flavor, no filler, crisp sear, wonderful bites and sauce. 5 stars For dinner I had the short rib and gnocchi. Decadent, and to die for. It was really enough for two normal eaters, but I am a fucking glutton, so I wiped the plate clean all by myself. hehehehehe My friend had the wagyu beef and lobster smash burger, I tasted, it was fabulous. The fries alongside were browned nicely but not crisp, the only average part of this superb tasting, millennial pleasing offering. Short rib 5 stars, smash burger itself 5 stars, fries 3 stars. Oh yea, as my final dinner in NC for a year, the ricotta cheese blueberry cake. I wish I took some for the ride. 5 stars Next year, I'ma comin' back. :)

Tiffany P.

Yelp
Big fan of the smash burger (you can ask for it even if it's not on the menu) and the aioli is always my favorite dipping sauce!! Last night the avocado hummus was amazing!!!! So impressed. The staff is always kind and friendly and remember us...cannot say enough good things about the staff! I do wish the drinks (on the pricey side) used fresh squeezed juice especially lime! For the price I feel like it should be fresh and then I would be happier to pay it. Spicy margarita needs some work! We'll be back and we are excited to see what a new season brings, but we are overall very happy and thankful to have BHG!

Yelp
A lovely fine dining spot in south topsail! We visited for a birthday celebration and weren't disappointed. The food was excellent and the ambience is high end beach style and reminded me of some great restaurants I've been to in Orlando (The Boathouse, Beach and Yacht club resorts). They have a cute gift shop with local goods and merchandise. There is also indoor and outdoor/patio dining available but the menus are different outside. They have very curated chef style dishes that focus on seafood and steak, with some vegetarian options. We tried the salmon, short rib gnocchi and the scallops. All were delicious but the scallops won the table. They were sweet, huge and perfectly cooked. Another winner was the focaccia appetizer! We had hoped to try the key lime pie but they didn't have it that night. A perk is that after a lovely dinner, the ocean is only a short walk away so you can take a beach stroll after a fabulous dinner.

Michael H.

Yelp
While I am upset that I have yet to take and share any photos of this exquisite place, I did want to take the time to share just how delicious it is. The Beach Shop & Grill is a tremendous breath of fresh air for anyone who enjoys fine dining, with a little splash of small town comfort. The staff is the definition of friendly and they make you feel welcome and valued. The bar is gleaming with a wide assortment of spirits that are managed by a duo of professional tenders. Highly encourage you stop here first to get some liquid encouragement as a precursor to your delicious meal. The menu itself is a consistently rotating array of outstanding g selections. Prepped and served by some of the best local chefs around, the appetizers, entrees, desserts, and post meal chasers all mesh together with ease. Expect photos during my next visit for sure! Cannot wait to get back for the next special occasion.

Jodi G.

Yelp
Upscale in atmosphere, menu and prices for a beach spot. Great for a special brunch or dinner. Cute shop connected

Monai D.

Yelp
8/10. My friends & I were visiting Topsail for a weekend! Stopped by the Patio at Beach Shop after a beach day! The patio is decorated nicely and it gives relaxation vibes. Some of my friends said their mojitos were watery, but the other drinks were decent. The only con I could say was the outside menu was different than the inside menu. The outside menu is limited, but some of the options are really good! Like the oysters, burger, and Brussel sprouts! I had a rib eye special (pricey) but worth it! It was so thick and juicy!! I'd def come back and try the indoor menu!

Claire H.

Yelp
I've been lucky enough to dine here three times and I've felt satiated, special, and full after each visit. If you're looking to splurge on artfully prepared dishes, great cocktails, and not-to-be-missed desserts, come to the Beach Shop. Pro tip -- come towards the end of the week when there's almost always live music outside as you sip on a cocktail waiting for your table. I do not believe they take reservations. If you purely want to enjoy the food without breaking the bank, I'd recommend coming for lunch. If you want the romantic vibes, dinner is where it's at. Entrees are all between $35-50 and cocktails are ~$15. Wine by the glass starts at $10, and they have a great selection. All this said, I really feel that you get what you pay for here.

Chelsea M.

Yelp
Amazing service and food as always! I love stopping here when I'm in Topsail. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The food never disappoints and I like how the menus sometimes change so there's something new to try. The atmosphere is especially peaceful and pretty outside! I highly recommend this place.

Addie L.

Yelp
We had the best family dinner, the atmosphere was fun and welcoming, we love having a drink before dinner at the outside bar! The service was the best, we had Tristen, he was sharp, attentive and answers all of our questions! The food was a wonderful culinary experience that all four of us enjoyed! Highly recommend this as part of a true Topsail experience!!!

Daniel L.

Yelp
Have been coming here for years and have always enjoyed it. Was excited to try this years new menu and I must say, Chef Jim Foss and crew has nailed it. Our entrees were extra Amazing!!! Best version of crab cakes and tarter sauce ever, NY strip was amazing along with the scallops over polenta. The polenta was a phenomenon itself. Service is always on point in such a well put together and cozy dinning room. Also amazing cocktail menu , definitely recommend the "coming in hot" if you like a little spice. Can't wait to go back.

Yelp
UPDATED Second try in two months: Maybe third times the charm, but we won't be finding out..an older lady- seemed to portray a hostess, stood there talking to another employee for a good 3-4 minutes before we were acknowledged. We intentionally didn't say anything as we were standing a foot from the hostess stand just to see how long they'd talk. Rude. Rude. Rude. We received our appetizer and it was very bland & lacked flavor. Oysters were great- but pricey. The portions are still ridiculous for the price. Can't believe they took the duck away- that was actually worth the price, given the size. Still expensive, still small portions, still trying to be something that doesn't belong on the island. I'm sure they have good profit margins, but they ruined their restaurant. If you want a nice meal- go somewhere else. We will not return until they change their menu prices. Who wants to pay $18 for a drink. C'mon. I don't care if they're infused with herbs & spices. That's a joke. We were sitting next to the bathroom/server beverage area & over heard a female mid 50s blonde, possibly manager by her tone and presence, bashing an employee. You could tell it took a toll on that employee when she walked back to her table. Shame on that manager! Also- I find it very humorous that the chef Jordan Keen is SO DEFENSIVE in his replies. It's as if he thinks his shh doesn't stink. His replies to peoples 1 star reviews make it seem as if the customer is wrong. Clearly Jordan, you have many unhappy customers. Many customers who have made BSG the reputation it has. I will be sure to steer people AWAY from this god awful place. You couldn't even cater to a customer wanting their steak medium well. I am paying you $60+ for a small waygu sirloin. If I want it MW, I should be able to get it MW. I don't care what "chef recommends" or anything. It's what I want. I go to eat with the intention that someone isn't going to tell me how I'm going to enjoy my meal. You're ruining BSG Sheryl & Jordan.

Maddie S.

Yelp
We were originally told we would have a 25-30 minute wait. We waited 35 min, asked how much longer it would be and they said another 10 minutes. After an hour I asked again and they said "they couldn't give us an estimate of how much longer our wait would be", so we left and were never able to be seated.

Hannah F.

Yelp
Great wine selection. The food has been very consistent recently. The burrata appetizer is a delicious new item on the menu.

Pamela B.

Yelp
This is my second review. This is literally our favorite place on the whole island. Went for the first time in 6 months (off season). The menu has always been constantly evolving, but I'm not sure I'm in love with it in this moment. They are pushing smaller shared plates. The menu almost seemed too small (as in limited options) & too fancy with some of those. A recent review mentioned no option for reservations. They've been offering reservations through Resy for weeks now. We used the online system to easily make reservations. Will definitely be back. It will be interesting to see how the menu develops during the spring & summer months.

Kenny R.

Yelp
Every member of staff was super friendly and the food wasn't bad per se, probably even the best food in the area, but nothing seemed worth the exorbitant prices. I wanted to treat myself to a nice dinner and this seemed like a good place to do it. Kind of a touristy town, near the beach with a high end vibe, so I guess the pricing wasn't out of control considering all that, but the food just didn't impress me. I got the crab cakes which were relatively cheap compared to other entrees that were $40-45+ a piece. I probably should have just gone with the $18 burger though. The crab cakes had a decent amount of crab in them, which I will commend them on, but there was little to no sear to them. The texture was a little weird and squishy even. Twice I found a little bit of shell in my bite, but that happens sometimes. It was served over something similar to a remoulade or an aioli, which seems appropriate, but it was also served with soy sauce? That seemed super strange and out of place. It is what it is, I guess. After the music ended here, I could hear music across the street and I went over there. A book store with a good beer and wine selection. Not something you find quite often.

Lukas S.

Yelp
An overall breathtaking experience. You can tell Executive Chef Jordan Keen is a pros pro. Every dish that my friends and I ordered were out of this world. Our particular server, who we didn't get the pleasure to get her name, did a wonderful job checking in on us and being conversational. If you are from here or just visiting, the restaurant is the best in the area and one of the best I've been to. You would be doing yourself a disservice by not experiencing what Beach Shop and Grill has to offer!

Yelp
I cannot remember ever eating dishes that were as magnificently crafted with such care as to what we enjoyed this afternoon. Whatever you do, don't visit this restaurant if you are in a rush - you will be short-changing yourself. Each bite should be eaten slowly to fully grasp the melody of flavors going on in your mouth. There is no "cook" in the back, there is however, a very talented chef who obviously loves their craft. We thoroughly enjoyed the onion truffle dip, fresh oysters, and a palmetto smash burger. Bravo chef - bravo!

Yelp
Great spot! Loved the house drink collections. Place was dog friendly so that was definitely a plus. Brought our two pups and they were warmly welcomed by the staff with pets and treats! Would love to return here !

Yelp
Delicious food! Great atmosphere and overall great place to eat! The staff is friendly and attentive. My daughter and I went for lunch and it was worth to drive to the beach. Highly recommend.

Yelp
If you stopped by this place while on vacation say 50 years ago you would have gotten a hotdog and a hand made soda .Today you better lace your shoes up tight because these guys are gonna knock your socks off, great atmosphere and a ton of memorabilia and beach decor. We had fried oysters soup of the day snapper special and shrimp and grits all were absolutely perfect this is not a place you will just happen upon it's a destination surrounded by a unique array of beach shops and local artist gallery. A great looking outdoor bar that is dog friendly you don't want to miss this great little spot

Yelp
The crab cake sandwich was delicious. Roasted Brussels sprouts appetizer was ok, they were very undercooked. My friend had the smash burger and thought it was really good. Service was fast and friendly and the atmosphere was nice and welcoming. Good place to eat on a windy day when you don't want to be outside. Prices are higher gh but worth it.

Yelp
Finally broke down and tried the Beach Grill again this past week. We haven't been there since the food declined and the prices soared. I had the fried chicken salad small plate. It was fair to say the least. The chicken was over fried and tough. The salad ingredients were ok but you have a hard time messing up salad greens. My wife had the small plate grouper bites. Grouper was also a little over cooked and small. We had a mixed drink a piece and a dessert. The dessert was very good. Very average dinner at a fairly high price. The atmosphere was nice on the patio and the service was prompt and courteous. In general just an okay experience at a restaurant that used to excel. Southend of the island is truly lacking in restaurants.

Yelp
Hubby had doc appointment in Hampstead so on way home we stopped on the island and found this gem. It's such a cool place. We walked in at gift shop side and we're greeted by 2 very charming ladies who said we would really enjoy our meal. First , our waiter was a very nice young man named Aiden who was very helpful and answered questions about menu and how long the place was there because I couldn't believe we hadn't known about this place. He said it was there way before he was born.. he was in his 20's lol. Very sweet and very attentive waiter. Second, we ordered an app which was fried oysters with slaw.. wow they were cooked perfectly.. breaded just enough, crunch on outside and soft on inside! Sooo good!!the slaw it came with was just a little spicy just right and sauce the oysters laid on was awesome..then I had the seared snapper on coconut rice with pineapple salsa it was perfectly cooked! Rice had just a hint of sweet and pineapple was great! Perfect pairing of ingredients. Was very happy with my choice. After our lunch I went into gift shop bought a tshirt a beach dog tshirt.. we really enjoyed our meal.. the only regret was not sitting outside because it was a very nice day but that's the only regret. You can't go wrong stopping by. I highly recommend this spot!!!

Yelp
We decided to go to Beach Shop & Grill for our nicer night out during a Topsail vacation. We have been to many nicer beach town restaurants and overall found the food to be overpriced and good but not great. Our snapper was undercooked, and the shrimp and grits were really creamy. We appreciated that they offered kids meals but the chicken tenders were not great and overpriced. The cocktails were good and the staff was nice. Although we appreciate how expensive it is to run a place like this at the beach, the value just wasn't there for us - next time we will skip dinner and get cocktails only at the outdoor bar.

Yelp
Never will step foot in this place again! We were celebrating a special event and had a party of 12. Food was just ok but the service was horrible. I believe our waitress was under the influence (she was high or drunk). She could care less about our party and spent more time with what seemed to be friends of hers at another table. She slurred her words, was overall rude and just could care less. Our bill was over $600 and then a gratuity added in making our bill almost $800. I paid our bill and gratuity but will never step foot in this place again. I don't expect to pay top dollar for a piss poor attitude and mediocre at best food. Too many other options out there.

Yelp
We ate here twice, 5 star on first time and the second time 3 star on service 5 star on food. Food was outstanding, loved every dish the 4 of us ordered both times. Reason for the 3 star service was we didn't get our dessert, McKenzie forgot about us and stranded us. Had to get someone to get us our bill.

Yelp
Not kid friendly, no substitutes, expensive, and they actually made me throw away my coffee I just got from the bookstore. They would not allow me to bring my coffee to the table.

Yelp
Disappointed! Contacted owners about issues I had while dining. No response. I do not recommend this restaurant! I will not return for the lack of concern for there customers
