New Orleans’ Best Classic Burgers | Eater New Orleans

"This no-frills neighborhood bar is ideal for watching the game with good grub and a beer. The list of toppings is impressive at Beachcorner, from homemade barbecue sauce to blue cheese and mushrooms — there’s even a 10-ounce burger of the month, 10 options in all. The happy hour is a long one, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day of the week. Best for: Late night grazing — the kitchen is open “until”" - Beth D’Addono

New Orleans’s Best Late Night Restaurants and Food | Eater New Orleans

"Head here when it’s past 10 p.m. in Mid City for 10-ounce burgers and a beer (or the libation of your choice). The friendly 21+ bar and lounge with an old-school apartment building entrance has a long bar, booths, two pool tables, and a huge menu, but the shredded cheese-topped burgers usually win out (the hickory smoked cheddar is a customer favorite)." - Beth D’Addono

Google
Place was very nice historic new orleans lounge vibe. Friendly service. Burgers were great worth the wait.

Google
For my husband & I 1st time being here from out of state, it was decent. The southwest egg rolls are to DIE FOR though but make sure you dip them in the purple sauce they give you! AMAZING! The mushroom burger is pretty good too. Service was ok, atmosphere was cool too!

Danny Dorito

Google
Omg! I can't believe it took me so long to go here. Best burgers in the the city. They were made to perfection. My only complaint is they use pickle spears and not pickle chips. Other wise the food is perfect. The southwest egg rolls taste great and are cooked perfectly. The berry sauce with them is amazing and goes perfectly with the egg rolls. The sweet compliments the savory giving your taste buds a wonderful journey. Don't hesitate to go here for a great burger and chill atmosphere.

A hidden gem I was introduced to by my friends who were attending University of New Orleans back in the day. I was a newcomer from Hawaii and ready to explore all that the city had to offer.

Google
I love the beach corner. we Work in New Orleans , live in Covington and we often stop At beach corner for dinner , burgers and beer , on way back To northshore . Great food , great atmosphere , great jukebox box , a couple of tvs for sports . . Born and raised in New Orleans and have enjoyed beach corner for years . Very clean , consistent , great food and bar . Whats great is that it’s never really noisy from people . Unless pelicans or saints are playing . Great place for lunch and dinner ! Never feel rushed . And you can carry on a conversation without talking loudly or straining to Hear . If you haven’t been there , check It out . On Canal right off city Park Avenue . Don’t blink. You might miss it 👍

Linda Hauser

Google
Order at the bar and pick up at the bar. It’s a little loud and hard to have a conversation. The burger took a long time🤷🏻‍♀️ Got the Southwest Eggrolls quickly

Google
Back to the original facadé?, this was my first time here. Pigging out after the boat parade, my friend hit it out the park with this suggestion. REALLY good burgers. We had that discussion(B.O?), I can't call it myself. Reminds me of a place in Tally, 10oz fresh patties, basic and good plus beer and booze. We both got bacon blues, dressed medium, she got a bacon cheddar dressed medium. Scoops of unmelted cheese is the only complaint. Probably should've only ordered one fry. Great first experience, chill, all forms of distraction, patio (no pets).

Google
Burgers were amazing!! Definitely recommended going here.

Yelp
One of the best burgers in the city! Realllllllll bacon unlike nevermind... nice vibe, good drinks... you have to order at the counter and they will call your name when the order is ready.

Yelp
We were told Beachcorner had the best burgers in town. I would disagree. The burgers were good, the potato skins and cheese curds were also good. The star here is the super friendly staff. They make you feel at home the second you walk in the door. What we didnt like were all the cameras. We counted 16 cameras in the bar/dining area alone. Do I need to be afraid to dine here? Are bad things happening here enough to warrant clusters of cameras all over the ceiling? The paranoid owner with the camera addiction will be enough to keep us from coming back.

Michael R.

Yelp
Great Bloody, great grilled chicken sandwich, and loved the laid back vibe. Next time we're in town, we'll be back!
google avatar

Dee C.

Yelp
I went here to watch the game and heard the burgers were good. They're pretty good, huge. The meat doesn't really have any seasoning. it just tastes like straight hamburger meat. But it was still good, those potato skins are delicious. I also had a beer, then some wine. Everyone in there was pretty cool. Service is slow it took like 30 minutes or more for us to get our food. They have these two TVs near the pool table which you might as well render useless because they also have these Neon lighted signs and they reflect on the TV so you basically are watching TV with reflectors on them. There are other TVs around the bar tho. Its just those two that have reflection. They have a back patio where you can smoke it's a really chill area it'd be dope if they put a TV back there. All in all, it's a chill place. I have to add that I ate my leftovers the next day, tasted better than the first day.

Yelp
This review is strictly for the shrimp sandwich which is more expensive than the hamburgers unfortunately it's just the baby shrimp that I severely dried out and covered with excessive batter. Well season batter but just a batter sandwich for $14 which isn't worth it at any price. The saving Grace is still they have the best burgers and potato skins. Just stay away from the seafood options At least the shrimp sandwich.

Yelp
I recently visited this bar-restaurant with a friend who is a local. He mentioned that it has been a staple in the area and particularly loves the food, especially the burgers. The place has a vibrant atmosphere, and the staff are friendly. They even advised us not to over-order due to the enormous servings. I tried the mushroom burger, which was indeed huge, accompanied by the usual sides of fries, onion rings, and cheese. While the burger wasn't extraordinary, it was satisfying and in line with what you'd expect from a bar. It's good, but not exceptional.

Yelp
Beach corner has gotten a face lift at least to the entrance of it. Been awhile since I been doing burger of the month specials now. We had the Queso Burger it was really good. Hot fresh and perfect portion size
google avatar

Taylor J.

Yelp
Best burger in town by far. Get a burger with potato skins and try your luck at video poker :)
google avatar

Tyler H.

Yelp
Good solid bar for drinks or food. Burgers are good, but my go-to here is the smoked sausage sandwich. They do have brown mustard for it if you ask. Good service. The food can take a while since they get a lot of take out orders.
google avatar

Shane L.

Yelp
Great service and great burgers! Great for late night dinner as well. Got a late start on supper and had trouble finding anything else in the area that wasn't closed or didn't really want to be inconvenienced. But the BC was very accommodating and friendly and would recommend to anyone!

M K.

Yelp
This place has really fallen off. Raised all the prices and lowered all the service. The food service is so slow. If they tell you ready in 25 min, expect them to start it in 25 minutes. A lot of it seems to come out of a microwave. And just be aware because no one will tell you, there is an automatic gratuity added to all to go orders. The food is mid at best. Big, unseasoned burgers and deep fried Sysco faire. There are much better bars with much better food.
google avatar

Shanita F.

Yelp
The sandwich was just okay. Nothing special and the breading was a little underwhelming. I think next time I will eat before and just order drinks. There's plenty of TVs in the space and lots of seats. They have booths and a long bar for patrons. In the back room, they had a couple of pool tables. The bathroom is what you expect from a bar in nola
google avatar

Bryoni P.

Yelp
Rude bartenders and food comes out over an hour late. Ticket was clearly lost, and customers blamed. Seating doesn't get cleaned and bartenders will see customers waiting, and have them clean it themselves. Worst service for mediocre food.

Brooke G.

Yelp
First time there. Heard about the great burgers. I got a cheeseburger, he got the burger of the month, Crawfish Queso burger. Both were excellent! He says best burger in the city. Typical bar atmosphere. Service good for a bar. We'll be back!

Patricia E.

Yelp
If you are looking for a great hole in the wall, welcome to Beachcorner. They serve good bar food. When I want a great juicy burger, I head to Beachcorner. And it doesn't cost a leg and arm for premium alcohol and imported beers. This is a place you can go alone and feel comfortable. I plan to make this my place to watch some Saints games.
google avatar

Kaitlyn M.

Yelp
Best dive bar burger ever! As you can see the phone didn't eat first. Service great and nice casual place to grab a beer and hang out.
google avatar

Elenora B.

Yelp
My mom claims this to be the best burger of all time and I can't say I agree. The burger was pretty juicy but it lacked a lot of flavor. For the size, it was a pretty decent price though which was good. Their fries were good as well but I will say that their speciality fries were pretty pricy as you added toppings but they gave you a decent amount. Their broccoli bites were good but not amazing. For bar food it's pretty decent but definitely not the best burger ever.
google avatar

Paul W.

Yelp
Still some of the best cheese burgers and cheese fries in NOLA. Been here many times. Prices have gone up but still good prices. Recommended.

Ricquel B.

Yelp
a waste of $83!!! ON SEPTEMBER 13, 2024 I ordered 3 bacon cheese burgers to-go not to mention almost $10 extra for to-go orders but thats not the problem!!! the problem comes when they didnt toast the buns on none of the burgers and still placed them in the plates with wet lettuce and tomatoes so the buns were soaking wet and uneatable!!!

Lindsay L.

Yelp
Stick to the burgers here. Chicken sandwich tastes like the chicken has been frozen forever and fries were soggy/burnt at the same time. The shrimp are tiny and the salads aren't worth the price.
google avatar

Joe P.

Yelp
Excellent service Sesame roll lightly toasted-very nice Good tomato, iceberg, sweet raw onions-very good BIG burger, nice charcoal on outside from hot gas grill but meat was lacking flavor. Sadly typical of ground beef burgers. Try Bub's Burger.
google avatar

Mina H.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite late-night eats, the Beachcorner Bar and Grill! Cheap, scrumptious, and open late. What more could you want? For $7-8 you get the most amazing burger. LOADED with toppings (like, a whole mountain of bacon if your burger has bacon!), the portions are hearty. I've never been dissatisfied with the portion size, and I like to brag about exactly how much I can eat! The juicy beef burgers are my go-to, but my boyfriend LOVES the chicken burgers too! The crispy green beans are just battered and fried green beans, but they're addictive. I recommend giving them a try! However, I don't recommend their fries. They're too thick and sometimes not fried long enough. I find that they're usually kind of dry on the inside too. I know you want fries with your burger, but I think you'll be full without them anyway!

Karen S.

Yelp
Delicious huge hamburgers. Love the atmosphere to enjoy with good friends. Will visit again.
google avatar

Maren M.

Yelp
My favorite bar in the city. Always TOO much food, always a good time and the cooks/bartenders are among the best! Go there to shoot pool, listen to good music and eat the biggest burgers with the most flavor!

Clayton L.

Yelp
The absolute GOAT of hamburgers in the New Orleans area. Worth the wait. Great staff. Felt like family here every time. You might be just dumb if you don't like this place

Kevin L.

Yelp
No longer a late night option for after hours food in New Orleans. Used to be great for late night burgers.
google avatar

Duane C.

Yelp
Fun bar with strong drinks, great burgers, and the bacon blue cheese fries were to die for!

Thomas S.

Yelp
This is a great place to watch a Saints game, have a few drinks and get lunch. We've gone to this sports bar numerous times for Sunday games and it's consistently good. Love their potato skins, good french fries and burgers, chicken strips, etc.. It's just a sports bar with bar food but it's still impressive that I've never been disappointed with anything I've had here. Staff is friendly, service is good and it's got an inviting, friendly vibe..
google avatar

Joe P.

Yelp
Tuna steak sandwich and cheeseburgers are both equally amazing! There's a homemade sauce that comes with the tuna. It comes on the side and is very good.
google avatar

Skippy D.

Yelp
One of my favorite neighborhood bars and definitely one of my favorite burgers. The juiciest thick burgers you'll ever have and the vibe is always great. Staff is friendly and always having fun.
google avatar

Brittany S.

Yelp
This place is your typical sports bar/dive bar. I like that they offer a jukebox and pool tables. Their courtyard patio is cute when the weather is nice. They have seating at the bar as well as a pool table area and booth seating. No table side service so you'll need to order at the bar. The kitchen is small but they have a huge menu. And I mean huge. Every bar food item you can think of they have it. They're famous for their burgers and even offer a burger of the month that changes monthly. I have tried many things but my top favorites have been fried green beans and the southwest eggrolls. The burgers are always a hit. I see where they're noon for them! I've also tried the Buffalo chicken tenders, fries and onion rings. Their onion rings aren't just a side, they're an entire appetizer. You truly get your moneys worth for everything here.

Yelp
Beachcorner came recommended by several people I had met at Second Line Brewing. It is located within walking distance from the brewery. They told me that their burger was really outstanding, and that I needed to go. Turns out they were right. I would have never stopped in there because it doesn't look like much from the outside. I recommend going there for food after the brewery because breweries usually don't have food. They are open later, too. They have a dive bar atmosphere, but it is in the sense that Jon Taffer says makes everyone feel welcome, and you can come as you are. They have lots of games in the bar, too, so you can stay a while. The bartender was extremely efficient and very helpful giving me advice of other things to do in New Orleans. They are located in a non-touristy part of New Orleans, which I really liked. There are cool cemeteries around that area, too, if you are visiting from out of town.
google avatar

Jerry S.

Yelp
This was by far the best burger I've had in New Orleans. I ordered a Black and Blue burger and when it arrived it was covered in blue cheese and bacon. What a great combination. The burger was cooked just perfect. I also ordered French fries and I have to tell ya it was way more than I could eat. I'd go back here anytime I was a fulfilling burger.
google avatar

Melissa R.

Yelp
Good service and decent drinks. We were allowed in this bar to use the facilities and get drinks before our cemetery tour. The bartender was super nice and welcoming. My sis was happy with her drink.

Richard G.

Yelp
Sat down at the bar and waited about 10 minutes and never got waited on. The server walked right by us and didn't acknowledge us at all. Three more people came in and sat at the bar and got waited on right away so we got up and left. Service was pretty bad!!
google avatar

Tara B.

Yelp
Burger are always freshly cooked soon as you order I get medium rare when I say cooked to perfection always customer service A-1 always on point never a negative vibe cool friendly people
google avatar

Tori M.

Yelp
Really really love this place. BEST burger in the city. Not Port of Call. Yeah. I said it. This place could be called divey but it's really just laid back. That have a long bar with lots of seating, a few high top tables, maybe six booths, and then outdoor seating. Plenty of space to spread out with COVID. Lots of cold beers on tap and friendly service. Great place to watch a football game.
google avatar

Dave S.

Yelp
Living in Mid City, it's amazing we hadn't made it here, so we finally came in on a Friday afternoon for a snack and some beers. At 1pm, it was pretty busy! Obviously a good sign, so we grabbed a few beers at the bar. They have a solid beer selection and a full bar, and the bartender was awesome. She took good care of everyone very quickly and was super friendly. They have a great list of burgers! That's what they're known for, apparently, so we figured we couldn't go wrong. We got a cheeseburger and a side of fries as a snack, and the food came out fast. One note, they seem to lean towards a bit less well done, so if you usually order medium or medium well (or god forbid, well done) then err on the side of caution. When the burger showed up, the shredded cheese wasn't melted, which threw me off, but just trust me - it all works out well. Fries were great. It's got a perfecto dive bar vibe, we will definitely be back in here.
google avatar

Kelsey J.

Yelp
Awesome spot! Came here to watch the LSU game because everywhere else in Mid-City was slammed. Solid bar food, pool tables, and buckets of beer for cheap during Saints, LSU, Tulane, & Monday Night football. Decent bar food as well - we had the potato skins, bacon cheese fries, and southwest egg rolls. How can you go wrong with any of those choices? Also heard their burger is bangin', so going to make the trip again one night to try that soon! Their burger special (not sure how long it's on special for) with Spinach Dip on top of it sounded delish. There is lots of seating, though booth space is limited. Order your food at the bar and they will call your name over the intercom speaker to pick it up! There is also pool tables for those that like to play, and plenty of TV's to watch sports happenings.
google avatar

Darriane J.

Yelp
I went last night (Friday night) & they were super busy! I was with a party of 6! The prices are great! Burgers start at about $6! I ordered the tenders, fries, & a sprite & my total was about $12! They give you so much food for the price! The food was good! I enjoyed it! Next time I'll try the burgers! Everyone said they were really good!
google avatar

Yelp
Ok, Beachcorner has a special place in my heart because it was the place I had my first "Burgers & Beer" with my husband. We come here every time we are in town as a remembrance ritual for the last 16 yrs. I'm a native New Orleanian and could choose from a number of burger joint if the Beachcorner dropped their standards or was less than when we first went in 2001. Prior to the Beachcorner taking over the establishment it was Robert's (Ro-bears). We spent many a night there in the 70s-80s dancing and ending the night with the same delicious burger! The menu has broadened and if I ever moved back I'd explore it more. But after 20 + yrs of a consistently good, mouthwatering 10oz cook to perfection burger, well, need I say more? Bon Appetite burger fans!
google avatar

David G.

Yelp
This is the place to go if you want the pound for pound best burger in new orleans. The key is getting it medium rare, since the burger is massive. You get all juices from the burger, which the grated cheese and they use a quality bun. It's an outstanding burger. Cheese sticks are the bomb also. It's a hang out spot for cops so you get an interesting crowd. You have 2 pool tables in the back, and plenty of tvs to watch a game. I came in for a NBA playoff game, and they turn off the music and let me listen to the game. Very nice staff, I've never had a bad experience at the beach corner.
google avatar

David W.

Yelp
Love the food and the people, great hamburgers the best in my opinion!! Management is also on top of things. I've been eating rare hamburgers here for three decades no problem.

Ron B.

Yelp
We have been going to the Beachcorner for a few decades and have always enjoyed not only the burgers but the entire experience. However, our last 2 visits have been much less than what we have come to expect. In particular last evening at 6pm I have a terrible Old Fashion and our burgers we tasteless. The music was much louder than ever. May be some time before returning. New employees need training
google avatar

Cornelius W.

Yelp
If you want solid bar food and big burgers this is the place to go to. . Bacon cheese fries were on point and not super greasy. Burger was delicious as well. They really are 10oz burgers. I would go back for sure.
google avatar

KC C.

Yelp
If you want a great burger, this is your place. Nice 10oz burger. There are several burger options. I chose the regular cheeseburger and enjoyed it.
google avatar

Jay S.

Yelp
We've been here a few times and had generally positive experiences. Reasonable prices, good food, service always acceptable. This time we arrived in the early afternoon, specifically to try the burger of the month. It was late enough that the lunch rush was over. There were maybe six other people in there, three of which were closing out. The server was by herself, hustling back and forth to close out the three customers. We sat at the bar patiently waiting, as we know how it is to work in the service industry. She's got a lot to do - no problem. She passed us four or five times and didn't say anything or even look at us. That's kind of a red flag, but we'll give her the benefit of the doubt. As she walked passed us again, she proceeded to help a customer who had literally just walked in. Strike two. After finishing with that customer, she started to clean up and tend to other things at the other end of the bar. So at this point, she had not looked at us, spoken to us, or even acknowledged our existence. That was it. Time to go. As we were walking out, she finally looked at us, but still didn't say anything. It was clear this person did not want our business. It's too bad, because, when we get good service, we're very generous tippers. It's tough out there for everyone. All she had to do was look at us, nod, or say she would be with us shortly. Nothing... Perhaps this was an isolated incident. In any case, we're much less likely to go this place again having experienced that blatant indifference. It's too bad - they have good burgers... I
google avatar

Sean D.

Yelp
Best burgers in the city... Grilled chicken is very good, along w/ the grilled tuna! Big portions. Chicken quesadilla rolls are also very good, & so are all of the other other appetizers that are offered.
google avatar

Nicole S.

Yelp
Always great food, great bartenders, great ambiance, and there's always a good crowd. Very convenient and we love stopping there after the Pels games.
