We've been here a few times and had generally positive experiences. Reasonable prices, good food, service always acceptable. This time we arrived in the early afternoon, specifically to try the burger of the month. It was late enough that the lunch rush was over. There were maybe six other people in there, three of which were closing out.
The server was by herself, hustling back and forth to close out the three customers. We sat at the bar patiently waiting, as we know how it is to work in the service industry. She's got a lot to do - no problem. She passed us four or five times and didn't say anything or even look at us. That's kind of a red flag, but we'll give her the benefit of the doubt.
As she walked passed us again, she proceeded to help a customer who had literally just walked in. Strike two. After finishing with that customer, she started to clean up and tend to other things at the other end of the bar. So at this point, she had not looked at us, spoken to us, or even acknowledged our existence. That was it. Time to go. As we were walking out, she finally looked at us, but still didn't say anything. It was clear this person did not want our business. It's too bad, because, when we get good service, we're very generous tippers. It's tough out there for everyone. All she had to do was look at us, nod, or say she would be with us shortly. Nothing...
Perhaps this was an isolated incident. In any case, we're much less likely to go this place again having experienced that blatant indifference. It's too bad - they have good burgers...
