"Beachwood is a full-scale BBQ restaurant right along the promenade in downtown Long Beach. While their BBQ is solid and you’ll eat more than your fair share of their housemade cornbread, you’re really here for the beer. Beachwood has been one of California’s best craft breweries for a while now, and it’s home to one of our favorite IPAs of all time (Melrose). "Long Beach beer and BBQ spot Beachwood BBQ has been open since the early days of outdoor dining, since they’ve got a food menu (full of smoked meats and all the accompaniments you could want, btw). "This is a tough pill to swallow, but just because you’ve been nursing a six-pack of Ballast Point for a few weeks doesn’t suddenly make you a beer connoisseur. If you show up to your Happy Hour with a case of hazy IPAs from Beachwood Brewery, however, you’re definitely on the right track. The Long Beach bar/restaurant is one of our favorite craft breweries in Southern California, with a giant catalogue of impressive beer, plus a “cellar” full of discounted beer from other great breweries. "Long Beach spot Beachwood Brewing makes an impressive amount of quality beers during normal times, and that hasn’t changed during quarantine. In addition to tentpole IPAs like Amalgamator and Citraholic, they’ve also got some other great options, like Greenshift (a classic double IPA) and 28 Haze Later (a New England IPA).
