I was going to give this place a lower rating but after reading the owner's responses to the negative reviews, I increased it because of the entertainment. Strawberry Cannoli Griddles were deceivingly not good. The presentation as it came to our table was flawless and beautiful. Everyone at our table were gasping at how good it looked but when I took a bite, the flavor and texture were off-- I did enjoy that it wasn't overly sweet though. Chicken and waffle: waffle texture and flavor were the same as the pancakes. Chicken seemed to be the same as the one from my Bang Bang Chicken Bang Bang Chicken: the chicken was wayy too over-fried. It was still good once I got to the thicker part and I enjoyed the rest of my burger after that but the initial few bites were disappointing. Fries are good!! I loved the Baklava Iced Latte. It was delicious. We did not notice the flavor of Baklava though, and it tasted like a regular Iced Latte but nonetheless, it was probably my favorite item that we got. Overall, a pretty average restaurant. The food is incredibly mid but I wasn't expecting much in the first place. Staff are friendly and I love the atmosphere. I'll definitely be coming back to support

Google
I really wanted to enjoy this place, especially after seeing all the glowing reviews, but unfortunately, my experience fell short. I ordered the scrambled tofu, which looked great on the plate, but the flavor just wasn’t there. It had an overwhelming amount of powdered turmeric sprinkled on top, not cooked into the dish, so it tasted raw and bitter. I tried adding salt, then hot sauce, but nothing could save it. My guest ordered the French toast with a side of bacon. The French toast looked beautiful but had an odd aftertaste that neither of us could quite place. It wasn’t terrible, just… different. The bacon, though, was a surprise, not in a good way. Instead of a small side, we were served what felt like an entire pack of bacon. No heads up from the waiter, no warning that it was meant for multiple people. My guest was overwhelmed, and I don’t eat bacon, so it ended up mostly untouched. With the prices being what they are, I walked away feeling like I didn’t get my money’s worth. Maybe it was just an off day, or maybe certain dishes shine more than others. Either way, this one was a miss for me. You live and learn!

Google
Stopped in for a late lunch. Ordered the Falafel Burger and the Tofu Scramble. Both were very good. The service was prompt and friendly.

Google
Food was good but a bit pricey. Service was good, nice atmosphere. Bloody Mary was not good. Small glass too much Worcestershire or something but it was over seasoned. Other than that it was a good experience. I will be back.

Google
Stopped in here for brunch. The food here is so good and the staff is so friendly! Baklava latte and strawberry cannoli pancakes were amazing

Google
First time in Beacon and had a PHENOMENAL meal at Beacon Bread Co. We had the bread platter, Greek omelette, and chicken sandwich. The best part was the service thanks to Emma, Ella and Marissa! Highly recommend

Google
Amani was a superstar, she is a wealth of good energy, warm hospitality and kindness. She strives to make her customers happy and ensures that she makes their experience complete. What a joy to have gotten to know Amani! I’ll be back for the Baklava latte, the ambiance and Amani’s good energy.

Google
The food was amazing!! The bread tasted just like a fresh bakery with powdered sugar. Cheesesteak sandwich was delicious. The breakfast tacos were out of this world. Will definitely return!!

Yelp
A friend and I came here during our girls weekend, it was on a cute street with lots of little shops. I had a delicious lox bagel and a side of fries. Quick service and cute decor - nice booth seating.

Yelp
Beacon Bread Company is definitely more so for the experience and hype. The food was not bad but it was really just standard diner food. I'd recommend trying the Middle Eastern/Afghan spot up the street (I forgot the name). We had to wait about an hour for our table because it was that crowded and I don't think the wait was warranted. The service was standard nothing exceptional to be remembered and the ambiance was kinda dry.

Yelp
Meh. After we were seated for brunch on a Sat, the waiter sat 3 other tables and then took their orders before ours. Served them too before us. 30 min from our order to our food actually coming. When our food did come it was uninspired at best. The baguette the gf's eggs came on was rubbery and inedible (this place is called BREAD company). My egg and brisket tamale sounded hopeful but was nothing special. Good luck getting a coffee refill. My 3 stars is probably overly generous.

Yelp
Was excited to come here but ended up having a meh experience. My vegan falafel burger was fine, but a little dry. The fries were super yummy. Service was extremely slow. It looked like one server was primarily running around doing all of the work. There was a piece of plastic in my burger and when I told the staff they made me a new one and comped it which I appreciated. Overall it was an.. interesting experience.

Yelp
My first stop off the train for my day trip in Beacon. I didn't really have much planned out, as sometimes I just like to go by feel. I walked by Beacon Bread Company on my initial walk through main street in the pouring rain, and noticed a crowd of people outside here with cool umbrellas and that's really what got me. Plus anything with "Bread Company" attached to the end is such an easy sell for me. I was alone, so I walked in and smiled sheepishly at the hostess while softly saying the words "table for one?" with a light smile and holding up my right hand with one finger up. l was seated at the bar immediately which is another major perk of eating/traveling alone. Vet Move. I was planning on having a big meal later so I just wanted something light, and that's when I saw the grilled cheese and tomato soup. I may be weird but I just love a tomato soup especially when the sky is profusely sobbing. I don't know why I expected a big tomato soup with a small grilled cheese, but it was really a big grilled cheese with a small tomato soup. But that's on me. I gotta own that. Personal accountability. The grilled cheese was solid, but it wasn't the best I've had. It really was more for show as the cheese spills out of the end of the bread, but there's not much cheese in the middle. As my middle school basketball coach would always say "Don't bite on the pump fake! Never leave your feet!" But dipping the grilled cheese in the tomato soup was everything you dream about as a little kid. I used to do this with spaghettios and a grilled cheese my Granny would make me hahahaa. The contrast in the toasted bread with the softness of the tomato soup is a combination everyone should experience once in a lifetime. But yeah, overall a great experience. This place is lowkey Beacon expensive though ahahaha. $13.50 for a grilled cheese and small tomato soup had me feeling like I was back in NYC. IG @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov_reviews

Yelp
The homemade chai is amazing!! The earl gray latte is also one of the best. Crazy busy on Memorial Day weekend! We were able to get takeout pretty easily and sit in the pack patio which had a nice Austin funky vibe. The hot chicken sandwich was really yummy and the enchiladas were good too. The sauce of the coleslaw in the sandwich had a baby kick and paired well with the fried chicken. The staff were all very friendly and nice.

Yelp
One of my friends who lives in this area have spoken highly about this brunch spot. She said they usually have long lines on the weekends so she has not been able to try it out yet. We got here around 9 am on a Sunday and we did not have to wait for a seat. We got seated right away - the place is pretty big and the staff was super friendly. The front of the place - you can order coffee or pastries to go and in the back they have seating areas and they had some booths and the lighting was great. Overall - very warm and welcoming. The menu had your standard brunch item but they did have a variety of savory and sweet dessert options. I went with the western omelette with came with a side of home fries and toast. The portion size was huge - but it was very delicious and definitely hit the spot for a Sunday morning. Overall the staff was super quick and friendly. Definitely recommend checking this place out if you are in the area.

Yelp
Went here for coffee and lunch on Sunday afternoon. Pleasant experience and will definitely be back the next time I'm in town. Great espresso based coffees and I was ooggling over the desserts. Ordered the following: Large drip coffee with oat milk - good Cappuccino with coconut milk - excellent Crumb coffee cake - amazing Western omelette - it was great; however, it came with home fries, which were actually hash browns. The has browns were REALLY salty and soggy. Also came with a baguette. The baguette was great but didn't have butter or jam, so kind of dry Kimchi chicken sandwich - would come back for the sandwich alone. Amazing flavor profile. Little light on the kimchi. Came with great sauce and battered French fries Staff was great. Cute little spot

Yelp
Great service and very timely. This was such a cute little brunch place in Beacon. The atmosphere overall was welcoming and classy.

Yelp
The town of Beacon is super artsy and walkable and charming!!! We met friends here for lunch on a beautiful afternoon. We did not have any trouble finding a place to park- yay! The dining room is tiny but that is pretty standard for the area. Our server was good- friendly and kept an eye on us but did not keep interrupting our conversation- so we appreciated that. As for the food... ehhhh. I got the tomato soup and it had a good flavor but it was barely even warm... My husband got a burger and fries. The fries were good but the meat patty seemed like it was of the frozen variety and the bun was very dry. So needless to say the food was not a big success. We will definitely visit Beacon again but will probably try a different place for lunch.

Yelp
Cool antique decor, food was good I had the French toast and veggie omelette and matcha, and service was great. Bathrooms were not to my standards. Overall I'd go back

Waj A.

Yelp
We stopped by here while we were visiting Beacon during the holidays from Brooklyn. The best chocolate chip cookies we have ever had ever! The gingerbread cookies were also great. Must visit if you're stopping by Beacon. The folks at the counter were also really sweet.

Yelp
Bad food and terrible service. I would not go back. Everything tasted very oily and like it was previously frozen.

Yelp
Pay with cash if you want to avoid the 3.75% credit card fee. We got the breakfast burrito (sausage) with home fries, and they were good. The burrito was a little Bland but they give you hot sauce with it which is the perfect addition. Even better though were the home fries. It didn't look like what I was expecting but the crispy exterior was nicely flavored. It was $15.55 + $2. I also got the in house London fog, which was not too sweet but could have used more earl Grey for the amount of liquid I had.

Cristina H.

Yelp
I was surprised how awful my experience was here. Got an iced matcha that was visibly unstirred with large chunks of powder pulling up through my straw & asked politely to have it reshaken or stirred and was told "sorry, no. Thats how it stirs." LOL pastries were also stale & served cold. Would not be back, my worst meal yet in beacon. Everything went directly in the trash

Yelp
The vibe is nice and cozy. Fabric chairs were crazy stained though which sorta takes away from the whole thing for me. Service was slow. Slow to place orders but food came out in a timely fashion. Refill on coffee never happened even though I asked politely. It did not appear to be a busy morning so I'm not sure what was happening there. The coffee was yummy though. I would have loved a second cup. Food was good. The avocado toast was on thick bread - avocado spread was good - eggs poached perfectly. My breakfast mate got the chicken and waffles which was okay. The chicken cutlet looked legit. The sausage gravy was not available so brown gravy was served (she was made aware of this when she ordered). Thankfully the gravy was served on the side because it was not great and the texture was lumpy. Would I return? No. Should you check them out? Yeah, I would. Could have just been an off day for that server. I recommend sitting inside as the outside smells like sewage in that little section of sidewalk.

Yelp
Nice place to grab coffee, brunch all day or just take out and seat outside. Sunday for brunch was a 40 minutes wait, since we decided to wait for a table we grabbed coffee and sat inside to wait. Service was very friendly and helpful. We loved our waitress, I mentioned how few strawberries I got with my pancakes and she brought me more. The eating area is not as big so they run out of tables very fast, hence the 40 minutes wait, but by the time we left there were plenty of tables available. It wasn't as loud as many places I've been to, and we enjoyed our brunch with a bucket of mimosas. I like the decor in the dinning area and the whole experience, even the wait with good company was great.
google avatar

Beth M.

Yelp
It was really good. But at least and hour wait for a table on a rainy day. The bang bang chicken sandwich was flavorful and tasty. The service was fast after finally getting seated. The drinks were good.
google avatar

Yelp
Great food. Especially bakery items. Only miss was the grilled cheese. With such great bread they could use better cheese. Lox bagel was amazing as was the strawberry ricotta pancakes.
google avatar

Nicole M.

Yelp
Service is very friendly and it's a very cute ambiance. Came by for a quick coffee, left with literally the best bread pudding I ever had. I'd come here again literally just for the bread pudding. They also have good iced latte and flavors

Yelp
The place is very beautiful and clean, definitely loved the vibe with modern and vintage furniture and art. Now the waitress could not been more sweeter, she kept up making sure if I wanted to order more and if I enjoyed the food, plus honestly always had a smile on. Always nice to see someone enjoy the job and pass along good vibes. Breakfast tacos were amazing, generous portions of egg, salsa verde and pico de gallo. The taco was well seasoned and honestly it was hard to eat considering the portion. Only knock down was could been better using two tortillas for the taco, since they did break apart on me. But for it being messy it definitely was nice to have legitimate breakfast taco with all the fixings of a regular one. The hash browns were not a fan of, definitely well seasoned and a good portion, but they pretty soggy, would been better crispy. Now both cookies I got to go, were incredibly soft and had a great crust, usually places have dried cookies, but man here simply soft perfection. Now vanilla croissant cupcake thing, I just had to have it, never seen anything like it and honestly it was great, it's like cinnamon bun, but without the cinnamon and just flaky buttery crust instead.

Yelp
Update: Five years, a pandemic, and a renovation later... Since I had breakfast here so many years ago, I'd only been back for coffee and/or num nums. Their cinnamon rolls are to die for! Finally got to sit in for a breakfast, and really liked it! The ambience is great; the folks who work there super nice and attentive. My friend and I both had the avocado toast (one with and one without a poached egg), and it was fresh with multi-grain bread. Really good coffee, too. Plan not to wait another five years before going back this time!

Yelp
We went on a recommendation, a friend said it's a must try. We went around 9:30ish on a Sunday morning. A few things on the menu sounded good but I knew I wanted a variety on my plate so we both decided to have the basic breakfast and it was just that. The eggs weren't seasoned, the potatoes overly seasoned and the bacon was like no other bacon I've seen before. I liked the choice of bread, English muffin, sourdough, baguette and toast though. I got the OJ which I found out was squeezed fresh, it was ok, if I realized it was $6.50 before ordering, I wouldn't ordered it. I'm not sure we'll be back.

Yelp
I am being generous with two stars because the coffee was good. We were told that we couldn't be seated (even though there were empty tables) because the kitchen needed "time to catch up" (it was 10am on a Monday). We left our number for a text, which we were told would be in about 10 minutes. After 20 minutes we checked in and they said, oh - that text should have gone through. There were five empty tables when we were seated. Other tables were offered water and drinks taken, we sat waiting. It seemed so arbitrary, some people were given menus, some were not. Some had cutlery, some did not (we were one of the some in both cases). We eventually ordered and my husband's breakfast was completely cold. Eggs, sausage, toast, everything. I had avocado toast and the bread was barely toasted and the "poached" eggs were overcooked like hard boiled. I mean, we all know we want the runny yolk right!? The only inquiry we had from anyone working there was, "sorry guys, it's really busy" and "would you like a to go box"? No thanks! I don't want a to go box, I want to go back in time and choose another spot for breakfast!
google avatar

Eryn M.

Yelp
Great place for breakfast and lunch! Can get a quick coffee/breakfast pastry or dine in. We dined in and had a burger and chicken sandwich. Both were delicious! Nice side portions and the fries were nice and crispy
google avatar

Yin M.

Yelp
An OG staple of Beacon run by whole hearted humans who love the community. The service is wholesome and super kind. A free great spot to grab a brunch or breakfast, and sit outside. Love their picnic tables outside on the sidewalk, and their adorable sidewalk marbled tabletop with chairs is the perfect spot for journaling or a reverie on a rainy day. They host community events in the backyard sometimes, from open mics to little potlucks. A wonderful place to grab a coffee and catch up with a friend. Grateful for them.
google avatar

Honest Truth ..

Yelp
19$ for 1 sadwich - it had 1 piece of unseasoned chicken, some lettuce, some tomato and some type of ranch - that lacked flavor. And that was it - 19$ for a small sadwich in a foil bowl. No extras or sides or flavor. Also got to watch a local get charged 30$ for a dozen rolls - and walkout with out them - he was astonished by the prices - as was I. Beacon is a town that is letting overly tattooed hipsters put "artisanal' prices on basic mediocre goods and services. Go someplace else.
google avatar

S R.

Yelp
Delicious and such great staff. The chai is unstoppable. And the takeout was super quick.

Wen B.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious!!! My favorite place in Beacon. I love all of their food and fresh baked goods. This place is a staple for breakfast and lunch for me.. delicious sandwiches, my kids go crazy for the pancakes and don't forget the bread and butter board. I have tried a lot of the menu and it never disappoints.
google avatar

Nicholas A.

Yelp
Service was speedy and my stomach was greedy. This is a really nice place and food was great. Couldnt decide what I wanted due to the whole menu looking delicious. The coffee was great as well.
google avatar

Ambar C.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place. The reviews were good and it seemed really nice and inviting. As you walk in there is the coffee shop section with delicious looking baked goods. The staff is really friendly and welcoming but the food really fell short. We came for breakfast, ordered some simple stuff. The coffee was solid but it was just plain drip. I ordered the eggs, fried with sausage and hash... it came kinda cold and everything was super dry and tasteless, I could not eat it. Same for the brisket special... was there any brisket at all? Cause whatever meat was there was brittle and dry and foreign looking. Also the French toast... dry, tasteless and covered in a nauseating amount of chocolate chips. All was just no. Unfortunately the prices are also quite high... so not worth it.
google avatar

Beth F.

Yelp
My name is Chase and I think the food was delicious. I had a grilled cheese. It was a little bit oily and not cheesy enough but it was still pretty good. My name is Rory and I also had grilled cheese. It was good but I like the french fries more they were a little too oily. My name is Beth and I had my name is Beth and I had a falafel burger I thought it was a little greasy, but it was good all over
google avatar

Bob S.

Yelp
Another in a long chain of perfectly mediocre, generally overpriced restaurants in Beacon. For some reason, it's insanely crowded on the weekends d (weekenders?). As with many places in Beacon, you see the same people here and at 15 other restaurants, all doing an average to slightly above average job. The atmosphere here is fine, nothing to write home about. Overall, the food is pretty good but not worth the prices. But, like I mentioned too ed, this is kind of the then in Beacon.
google avatar

Daniel K.

Yelp
This place isn't as good as it seems. Prices are super high, wait was long, the food I got was not good. Razor thin frozen sausage that was also burnt heavily, hash browns had a very strange taste, not good. definitely don't recommend the breakfast meals. The setup inside when you order is very confusing as the host counter is hidden at the back of the room so when you order at the counter, it's takeout and they don't tell you. Original Review: 2 stars, after the response below, 1 star. EDIT: Based on the owners response, I'm not surprised that your quality is lacking when you don't take criticism well. A shame since every review is a chance to better your business. My experience was bad. Your food was bad. Take responsibility and try to improve your food instead of being defensive when you get feedback. Also what an unprofessional and horrible statement you wrote. Cannot believe a business would be so disgusting in its public facing reviews but I guess you guys have no limits haha. What a disaster
google avatar

Joseph S.

Yelp
For the price and service - I probably wouldn't go here again. The ahi tuna wrap was actually pretty good, but the chicken sandwich was very sub par. Also from reading other reviews, the owner seems relatively insane so, would avoid for that reason alone?
google avatar

Reshma B.

Yelp
Great spot for breakfast! We walked right in and placed an order at the counter. The waitress was professional, confirming how to spell our names, and repeating how much we owed. The coffees were made quickly, and our food came shortly after. The breakfast sandwich was hearty and delicious. The bread was soft and complimented the sandwich well. It came in a plastic container along with condiments, etc. There was some seating inside and out front. Would recommend.
google avatar

Winsome J.

Yelp
A great small business! The service was super and there were plenty of vegetarian options that actually tasted good (I'm working on not having meat with every meal, lol). It's a perfect local hangout spot-- great friendly atmosphere!

Yelp
Do not recommend this place if you're visiting Beacon and looking for a meal. The food was, put plainly, OK. Pun intended. We ordered the raised ranch sandwich and brisket with eggs. The grilled chicken sandwich was fine, nothing special. The bun was great! So I would opt for any types of their bread if you are set on visiting. The brisket and eggs were definitely not good. All the food was smashed to one side of the tinfoil bowl. The tortilla that is meant to come with the dish wasn't included and we had to ask for one which they then brought out a cold one which was extremely bland and dry. The brisket was drenched in normal BBQ sauce and the everything was seasoned to the MOON with pepper. After we placed an order for takeout I proceeded to head to towards the back of the restaurant and asked the wait staff where their bathroom was. After doing so, the barista that overheard my question yelled out to the rest of the restaurant, "IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A BATHROOM THERE ARE OTHER PUBLIC RESTROOMS FOR YOU TO USE [at x location]". I was very uncomfortable by this given we just placed an order and were supporting the business. I also saw the barista tell a customer that was picking up their order, "yes, we've been calling your name for a while now" in a very sassy tone. Not the most friendly of environments. I was happy that we placed a to-go order. The wait for a table was 1.5 hours when we stopped by and it took 30 mins when we opted for takeout. No problem! Just expect a little wait over the weekend. The town is quite big. Try out some other bakeries!

Gianna L.

Yelp
Eh. I'm pretty disappointed. The food is good but not amazing. The chairs are actually so gross and dirty. It was extremely hot and smelled odd inside? Also the food took forever to come. Sad experience.

Ivy L.

Yelp
I'm concerned about the service we received during our recent visit. When we first sat down, we didn't get any utensils or plates until we requested them, even after our dishes were brought to the table. I also noticed that other tables were given explanations about the digital menus, but we were not. This made us feel like we were treated differently。 Also, I respect the gratuity policy of 20% for parties of five or more, but counting a 2-year-old baby as part of this seems unreasonable, especially when the service didn't meet our expectations.
google avatar

Jonathan S.

Yelp
Long wait for lousy food. It's exceedingly popular but they didn't put salt or pepper on the avocado toast, and the breakfast burrito was mediocre in every way. Would not come again -- for $15 you can find much better breakfast options. A decent diner would be better.
google avatar

Melissa M.

Yelp
Came here around 11am on a Thursday. Called in an order over the phone. I got the ultimate bagel sandwich. It was delicious. Other people in my group got the avocado toast, which they said was the best they'd ever had. Losing a star because service could have been better. The staff seemed very flustered and it was palpable. Otherwise, a pretty solid spot for breakfast/brunch.

Samuel E.

Yelp
I was quite excited to try this place on my visit to Beacon. Unfortunately, I was beyond disappointed and honestly, I left in a state of shock and fear. While I support everyone's right to express themselves and their beliefs, this establishment crossed a line and to put it simply, pushed a blatant antisemitic and anti-Jewish agenda. I had to put my Star of David necklace in my shirt as I feared the servers would spit in my food, or maybe even worse. They should be ashamed of themselves. Please educate yourselves and leave your echo chamber. Oh, and the bread was definitely frozen.
google avatar

Sally W.

Yelp
Solid brunch place to stop by in beacon if you're road-tripping upstate from the city. They were fortunately able to accommodate our large group walking in. Wish they had a few more waiters working as it was difficult to flag down ours down - especially when one of our members didn't get their food yet when majority of us were done with our meals.
google avatar

Kevin F.

Yelp
We went on a Sunday and the wait estimate of 45minutes was accurate - got a text when the table was ready - seated immediately. If you don't want to eat in, you can get coffee + bakery items from the front counter. Ultimate bagel sandwich was great, but the French toast was a little too undercooked/mooshy.
google avatar

Aash S.

Yelp
This place was good. Breakfast Burrito was really delicious. 5/5 The eggs were runny so ask to cook more if you want. Bacon Egg and Cheese Sandwich was not great. Maybe they don't add salt unless requested? It could've been better. Coffees were good. I'd come back.
google avatar

Megan L.

Yelp
Such a wonderful find. The food here was amazing. At first I wasn't sure if it would be worth the 35 minute but the 3 of us were glad we did. The food came out quickly and the servers were extremely pleasant. Two of us got the expresso martini and it was a nice surprise. I got the cheese steak au jus probably the best part was the freshly made baguette. The others got the chicken cutlet blt and the chicken and waffles (they ran out of waffles and instead it was french toast), but both dishes were still delicious. The sausage gravy on the "chicken and french toast" was her favorite part of the dish. We will most likely be back to try more the of menu!

Pedro S.

Yelp
The worse customer service experience I've ever had !!! I've been waiting on line and I'm next to place the order, some guy rushed in cuts in line for what he wanted and still I have not been serviced and when I asked if I can place an order he goes back to continue what he's doing, seems like they don't want our business.

Doug C.

Yelp
Grilled cheese was just OK and took a long time. Free Palestine signs all over the restaurant with no reference to freeing hostages. When asked if they recycle plastic plates and silverware, the woman at the counter pointed to the garbage. Geez.
