3 Best Day Trips From Vancouver | Condé Nast Traveler

"Beacon Hill Park is a lovely park that leads down to a beach. Pretty gardens and well-maintained footpaths are perfect for a stroll (or a horse-and-buggy ride) to see the roaming peacocks. How long you’ll want to spend here depends upon the season: Spring brings beautiful wildflowers and roses, while summer is the perfect time to enjoy the water parks, especially if you have kids in tow, and concerts on the bandshell. Any time of year, wander the footpaths to enjoy the lovely and peaceful vistas." - Liz Humphreys

Beacon Hill Park is near the downtown, easily accessible by walk if you stay somewhere in downtown Victoria. The park is well maintained and you won't feel dangerous while walking around the park. This park would be a perfect spot to take your morning coffee, walk around and get a nice morning breeze. The air quality is so good that you don't want to miss that. You can see Peacocks 🦚  on photos of Beacon Hill Park. Don't get disappointed or give up when you don't see them immediately when you enter the park. The park is pretty big and try to go through the middle and you should be able to find them near Beacon Hill Lookout on Google Map. The park also leads to the shoreline where you can take the stairs down to walk around the beach. Depending on your speed, it may take from 1.5 hours to 3 hours to walk around the entire park. But it's worth it.

Google
Perhaps I've seen too little, but this park is the only place I've visited that has free-ranging peacocks. Of course, there are many other interesting wildlife besides peacocks. It's just blissful to hang out in the park and see all the animals and plants.

Google
Beautiful park in the middle of downtown Victoria. There is a lot to see and a lot of tranquil pathways to tread through. I'm surprised that this park hosts peacocks, and they can climb trees! Amenities are plentiful, including several washrooms and two playgrounds. There is no shortage of parking spaces in and around the park as well. Definitely a great place to spend time in Victoria.

Google
Super beautiful. Been here a couple of times I love the petting zoo and how lovely it is with the peacocks too. Saw a few deers too. Would recommend going in spring or summer

Google
I love this park a lot! If you want to take a peaceful break from the daily grind, this park won't disappoint. There are ponds, fountains, ducks, geese, swans, peacocks, squirrels, deer and turtles! Green spaces and beautiful fauna and flora abound! There are washrooms and playgrounds for the kiddos, and lots of benches for weary accompanying adults. The only thing that Beaconhill really lacks is a designated off leash area for dogs (thus the loss of one star). That part I don't understand at all. Downtown Victoria is WOEFULLY lacking in off leash dog parks!!

Kristi Baumbach

Google
Lovely walking path with numerous places you can hike down to the water easily. Beach is filled with smooth rocks of various sizes. Just a delightful place to get some fresh air and enjoy the beauty.

Google
Beautiful park. Can spend a day , great access to nature and few animals , especially peacocks 🦚, they are so beautiful ! A great place for picnics and walks. Children would enjoy watching animals. Entry to this park is free, however to get close access to lambs , there is a ticket which costs $6 for adults and $4 for children . Overall you can have a good time and worth the visit!

Sherry Rice

Google
Gorgeous park with lots of paths for walking. The flowers and trees are quite beautiful and well taken care of. There are lots of little ducks everywhere and cute little squirrels and birds. Beautiful place for a relaxing walk. We enjoyed exploring and highly recommend a visit! The Moss Lady is quite a treat to see!

Yelp
This 20-30 minute walk from the cruise port exceeded my vision of a free family friendly activity day. The hill is loaded with things to do. We chose to spend a good 2 hours visiting the farm animals from behind its gates, having fun in the playground, waddling after Canadian geese, and admiring the tall trees and beautifully planted foliage. Its like Buschart garden but free with more things to see and do ( great for those with low attention span.) And yes, the public bathroom here is free and clean.
google avatar

Yelp
Beacon Hill Park...an expansive large, lovely and charming public park at the south end of Victoria. Its not as dynamic nor as abundant in variety as the much more famous Butchart Gardens, but keep in mind this place is FREE! Perfect for the vanlifers and hostel backpackers whom can't yet afford Butchart Gardens, but have many more instagram followers than I do. The Moss Lady sculpture is enchanting and creepy and the same time. The world's tallest freestanding totem pole was also way more impressive in person than I had imagined. The peacocks and black squirrels were adorable! I wouldn't say this is a must visit in Victoria, but worth an hour if you can spare it.

Yelp
Nice large green space in the middle of downtown Victoria to get away from all the hustle and bustle and enjoy some nice tranquil time. The park is very scenic, well maintained with nice gardens, a big pond in the middle of the park and walking paths throughout. This is a great place to go to relax and/or getting your daily steps in if you are into that thing.
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent park; extensive paths for walking around. Very pretty landscaping. Abundance of water fowl and turtles. Nice views of the straits from elevated locations.
google avatar

Miyuki I.

Yelp
We couldn't find anything there. There was a square that was made of wood . But it was a quite big park .we couldn't look around all the park but we saw a raccoon dog crossing the street .
google avatar

Yelp
Now this is the place you should visit when trying to explore beautiful British Columbia. A park with many hills, places to sit, and ponds, reminds you of your happiest memories growing up being surrounded by family, friends, and just simpler times. The families that are at the park are either enjoying a nice stroll (even in the winter), or feeding ducks with their little beloveds. Ponds and walk ways are pretty well kept and there are a lot of scenic options to stop by the park and admire nature. Ranging from large trees, to flowers, there were so many beautiful reminders that spring was on its way in an otherwise freezing environment. I was able to really soak in the beauty of the park when perched on top of a boulder and saw all the smiling faces soaking up the breaks of sun from the sky.
google avatar

Yelp
Beautiful relaxing place. Such a getaway from traffic and life in downtown. Walking distance from the fairmont empress around 15 minutes. We were lucky to see Jewish celebration of upcoming Rosh Hashanah. Beautiful fountains, a lot of greens, a lot of place to sit and relax.
google avatar

C G.

Yelp
Nice park but didn't have a chance to see the whole thing. There wasn't any signage for the park entrance or parking the way we arrived, so we parked by the ocean, which was fine. The worlds tallest totem pole was a bit disappointing (well, not really). Lots of nice flower gardens and the wife liked the petting zoo.

Yelp
So far my most absolutely favorite place in Victoria. It's not a far walk from the harbour and when the ferry dropped us off, we ate a quick lunch and headed here. If you're looking for serene, beauty, and a nice stroll in different directions, this is the place for you. Tons of pond locations and bench seating for you to take breaks (and photos!). Other animals you can see here are squirrels, peacocks, ducks and turtles (note: I didn't see turtles, but I overheard someone say so while they walked past me). The flowers and the grounds in general are absolutely gorgeous! I was amazed by the lily ponds..I've never seen anything like that. We also saw carriage rides going around the park. Besides the nice walks, there is a children's farm/petting zoo where I hear the little goats are the highlight. We didn't go, as we now have a tween and that's not his thing. But you can see school buses (maybe field trips?) and lots of groups of kids with a chaperone going to it. I love this place. If I'm ever back here, I'd come back and picnic for lunch. Bring comfortable shoes and enjoy the views.

Yelp
Beacon Hill Park was a park that I really wanted to go when visiting Victoria and it's much better than I thought! It's a giant park with lots of walking trails and different types of fields. There are beautiful grass and floral gardens, there are peacocks around these areas too!! You can find them pecking at the flowers. There are nice shaded areas in the grass areas to rest and sit. There are multiple pretty ponds for ducks to swim in and for a nice view while sitting on a bench. There is also a beach area. It's a rocky beach and it's a little hard to walk on but it's beautiful when you climb in the rock structure and look at the view. There are meadows with tall grass. Be careful with where you walk since some areas are being cared for so followed the paths and trails when walking. In the park, there's also the worlds tallest free standing totem and it's giant! Definitely the tallest. And there's also a petting zoo!! There are pigs, alpacas, mini donkeys, chickens, ducks, and goats for petting! It's amazing! And it's also free to enter but they do ask for a donation.

Sara D.

Yelp
Sigh, this is one of the loveliest parks in which I have been able to visit, and that's compared to places like St James and Central parks in London and NYC. It's well groomed, beautiful trees, flowers, gardens. Bridges and sculptures, architecture to appreciate, stepping in you immediately feel peaceful and rested even though you are still right in the city. And the wildlife is amazing - saw rabbits, deer, just grazing like they're out in the wild. Just such a wonderful walk and my favorite part of Victoria.
google avatar

Yelp
This park was walking distance from the resort. It's right there in the middle of downtown, how cool is that!??! It's huge, our downtown parks here in PDX are tiny in comparison. There were hardly any people there, super quiet and clean. This park is also FREE. The pretty flowers were similar to some that we saw at Butchart, love the tropical ones! Peacocks were walking around with their feathers open, looking all beautiful! They walked like they owned the place hahah, which they do :) They don't fear humans and they don't attack them. Maybe they think their one of us hehe. There were ponds with duckies too. Great place for a picnic! No parking fee and no troubles finding parking there. OK I will now attach the only couple pics we didn't lose :/
google avatar

Courtney Z.

Yelp
I used to love the park but since the mayor decided to make it a homeless encampment it's been too shifty to go much, especially not close to evening times. She ignored a 25,000 signature petition to find a different place to house people, and turned off her Twitter so she didn't have to deal with the public outcry to have their park back while they weren't allowed to travel. Elect someone different next time you have a chance. She's not doing us any good. And demand that the park be restored and protected!
google avatar

Yelp
Why would we keep chopping down ancient trees, if we already know how much they do for life in general? Trees communicate with each other, it's been proved that they give water to those who need it the most. They provide us with oxygen, prevent erosion, feed and incubate life. I think we should vote so decision-makers must watch "Avatar", and Leonardo's Dicaprio documentary (Before the flood). Maybe they'll understand why so many catastrophic events are hitting us. They should memorize that part in Avatar where is mentioned that: "everything is connected". We complain because trees ruin our precious drainages. We monopolize water, put it in harmful pipelines, cover the stolen food with asphalt, and then suffer inundations... or droughts. Speaking about this park. Enjoy it while it last. Free peacocks roam around, screaming and feeling respected while they cross or stand on the roads. A couple of new mothers encourage their kids to play and feed the duckings. One of the cutest scenes: when they're leaving, dozens of cuacs follow them as if they were the matriarchs. Summer time will give you the chance to pet fluffy goats. The tallest totem pole has its place looking to the Ocean. The path along the sea will give you the freedom to walk your dog without leash. By the way, is Paris really flooded? Oh, but the Grammy's just happened, so who cares.

May B.

Yelp
I really love hanging out here with my kids. Variety of play equipment and lots of space. Some shady areas. Playground equipment suitable for kids of all ages. Parking can be challenging.... If you're able, I'd recommend walking. Bathrooms close.... But have a bit of a rustic feel.

Yelp
If you're visiting Victoria, you need to make sure that Beacon Hill Park is one of your stops! The hugely expansive garden and its prime location right by Dallas Road makes it an amazing detour if you're enjoying a day down by the water. You can spend a couple of hours walking around and admiring the beautiful flowers and hanging out with the goats from the petting zoo (check my pictures!) before continuing your journey around this lovely city. If you're looking to get a bit more urban after your stroll, or are looking for a bite to eat, have no fear, because the Park is located right on the cusp of downtown, so you can head over and enjoy the wide array of restaurants or shops that Victoria has to offer.
google avatar

Melissa C.

Yelp
I stumbled upon this park while walking to Downtown from our cruise ship. A perfect detour from the usual tourist crap! I was so excited to be in this park! It was pretty serene and relaxing. Lots of flowers, winding paths and a great view of the Pacific for walking through the park! Peacocks were plentiful and there's also a little lake with more birds. I enjoyed walking around this park (and it was my favorite part of our stop in Victoria) before heading to the less serene Downtown tourist areas.
google avatar

Dean L.

Yelp
I think it fair to call this park "Victoria's secret." Imagine a small Central Park (NYC), with a lookout to the Salish Sea and the Olympic Mountains. That's what this underused gem is. Great walking, even on a cold February morning. There was a guy near the stage area yelling about "burning your children alive," but I don't think he was addressing anyone present.
google avatar

Julia B.

Yelp
There's a little something here for everyone. + The goat stampede is perfect for the kiddos (heck, adults love it too!). Have your camera ready- those goats love to jump on the back of anyone that can hold them! + The magnificent peacocks freely roam the gardens.. and if you're lucky, you'll find a feather lying around. If you don't find one, they keep a stash of them at the pay booth the front of the farm for kiddos to take home. + Chocolate dipped ice cream... need I say more? On top of all this affordable entertainment, it's the perfect place for a photo op.
google avatar

Yelp
Beacon HIll Park is 62 acres of gardens, a children's farm, roaming wild animals-deer and peacocks, ducks and geese. It has something for everyone and is a great way to spend a leisurely block of time there. It also contains the world's largest totem pole, an homage to the First Nations people that were the original inhabitants. It is relaxing since you can sit by the water, sit on a park bench or stroll the paths and enjoy nature. There are some lovely gardens with a variety of plants. It was especially fun to see a male peacock strutting his stuff for 2 female peacocks. The Children's farm within the park has a petting area with baby goats as well as a lot of other animals. There's no charge to get in the park but a suggested donation at the farm of $4.00. There is parking within the park. The Hop on hop off buses stop in the park also. It is worth a visit.

Yelp
very beautiful park. they have ponds, ducks, peacocks, etc. A nice place to take a stroll or have a picnic.

Yelp
Fairly large park near the BC Legislature and the Empress Hotel. Well manicured with ponds, beautifully maintained garden beds, fountains...plus a hill which affords great views of the ocean. We were advised by the Tourism Information Centre in Schwartz Bay that the hill was too steep to climb and that we best drive up...this is not the case at all. It's a fairly easy walk to the top. We visited during a heat wave and at a time where the area was going through an extensive drought. The lack of rain has really taken its toll on grass..it was straw like. The park is also a magne for skateboarders and kids on bikes...both whom were smacking park signs or trying to ride railings and curbs. The really were a nuisance. On the day we were there a band was performing in the bandshell....seemed to attract quite the crowd. The reason for 4 stars? I've been to several parks and while this one is beautiful in its own right, it wasn't a wow. Was I glad I went? Yup. Would I go back again? Yup. Would I recommend it? Yup.
google avatar

Jens J.

Yelp
Splendid beauty, from the manicured landscaping up top heading down the cliffs ending at the driftwood-covered beaches along the Strait of Juan De Fuca. Judging by the flora in huge Beacon Hill Park, it seemed to me that VIctoria is at least a little bit in the Olympic rain shadow. I later confirmed that it does rain less here in Victoria, 33" a year, compared to wetter Portland and Seattle - both cities racking up 37" a year. OK, since I am on the topic, Vancouver B.C. gets 44" annually. A great jogging or walking route is going around Ogden Point along the water and then up through Beacon Hill Park. For those of you with canine companions, there are no-leash paths in this park.
google avatar

Elena N.

Yelp
If you're scared of birds like me, it may be hard to walk through this park. I found myself very skittish and walking quickly through duck filled parts of the park. However, if you can get past the fear of birds, this really is a beautiful park and worth a visit. Our group blindly walked in without any real knowledge of what to see and how big the park really was. That was kind of nice since we just roamed around and saw various things: lots of lakes, a petting zoo, a stone bridge, a huge watering can, fountains and even a concert in the park. If you're here for the day, Beacon Park is definitely worth a walk through. I only wish it was bird free!
google avatar

Dawn F.

Yelp
What an absolutely lovely park. We almost did not go into the park because we had been biking for a good part of the day and were headed back to the hotel. From the exterior it did not look that great, brown grass and obscured view but as I peaked in through one of the paths it was lush and green almost forest like, full of foliage and fir trees, ponds, ducks...absolutely gorgeous. This park is huge...we only barely just made it around a quarter of the park due to time. There is a bike path but we did not find it immediately as some of the paved paths are for walking only and we entered into the park on a walk only path off of Route 1. We stopped at the Cricket field and watched part of a game which was fun, there was a visiting team in from Hawaii playing a local team. Next, we biked up to the Children's Petting Zoo which is very close to the Cricket Field and still within the park. The Petting Zoo was so much fun to visit. We were enamored by the Jacob's Sheep, they are quite hilarious to watch and listen to them "talk" to one another....we laughed so hard our stomachs hurt. We did not stay long because the petting zoo was getting ready to close, but we were there in time to watch the 5:10 pm goat race as they closed the barn, it was so cute. When they close down they have the goats race from one side of the farm to the other to get their feed and lock them up for the night. When near the petting zoo look up into the trees, you might just see or hear a peacock! They are roaming everywhere and add to the beauty of this local gem. Definitely worth the quick stop into the park!

Yelp
Beacon Hill is a popular 200 acre Park that contains a number of amenities including woodland and shoreline trails, two playgrounds, a water park, playing fields, a petting zoo, tennis courts, many ponds, and landscaped gardens. The land was originally set aside as a protected area by Sir James Douglas, governor of the Colony of Vancouver Island in 1858. In 1882, the land was officially made a municipal park of the City of Victoria, and given its present name. The name is derived from a small hill overlooking the Strait of Juan De Fuca, upon which once stood navigational beacons. The hill is culturally significant, having been a burial site for the First Nations Coast Salish people, who are the original inhabitants of the Greater Victoria region. It provides scenic vistas of the Strait and the Olympic Mountains of Washington. Gayle and I enjoyed a wonderful walk through Beacon Hill Park. We particularly enjoyed the chance to exercise in such a beautiful setting and have the chance to enjoy such peace and solitude at such a short distance from the hustle and bustle of the Inner Harbour area. Along the way, we witnessed a Wedding, strolled around Goodacre Lake (including the pebble bridge), found Mile Zero, and gazed out at the Strait and the distant peaks of the Olympic Peninsula.

Yelp
Gorgeous park to walk around and enjoy a relaxing day at. There are ponds, beautiful floral, lots of green, and even a petting zoo. It was my first time here and definitely won't be my last!
google avatar

Dawn B.

Yelp
Beacon Hill Park is a wonderful public park that is free to everyone to enter. It offers multiple lush garden areas, an amphitheater for small concerts, and plenty of free roaming birds and other small wildlife. The children's zoo has goats that they release on a controlled run and if you look up you'll likely see peacocks on the rooftops of the buildings in the zoo. Entry to the zoo is free but with a suggested donation. The park also has one of the world's largest totem poles, an homage to the First Nations people that were the original inhabitants. We spent a couple of hours wandering around the park enjoying the scenery. There is plenty of parking both near and within the park. It's worth a visit.
google avatar

Wendy F.

Yelp
What a beautiful example of what a city park should be. It's large enough to hold trails, ponds, a children's animal farm, playground, tennis courts, and a beautiful selection of plants, flowers, a rose garden, etc. I would say the only negatives were the facilities and a few homeless tents.
google avatar

Kam H.

Yelp
It was a beautiful walk in the park. I had read there was a petty zoo. And sure enough there is! Even though I don't have kids I still went in. They only ask for a donation of C$4 adult. The highlight was the baby goats. I sat for an hour petting "Diamond" a mama goat that rested in my shadow. The little ones jump up on rocks you can sit on and they come up to you for petting. They are not shy. Watch your clothes tho, they like to nibble on them. Make sure you walk through the park to the beach. From there you can go right on the walking path back to downtown. It's an easy stroll.
google avatar

Justin W.

Yelp
Nice place to walk around and get great photos. Or just even to relax in the park. Oh and they have a big kids play ground for your little one to play in, and a petting zoo as well.
google avatar

Mike S.

Yelp
My wife and I were there a month ago. As you can see it is a very large park. There were 250+ ducks, other birds floating around in the different ponds. Bring bread, bird seeds, grains, to feed them. The views from the the shore are amazing. We didn't walk all the way to the light house, my wife didn't want to go that far. We still walked 3-5 miles, easy to do.
google avatar

Jean-Francois D.

Yelp
Beacon Hill Park is a very beautiful park in Victoria, BC. It is a perfect place to go run, go on a bike ride or simply walk. There is an abundance of ducks and other birds, man made lakes and lots of beautiful trees. From the park you can walk toward a trail that runs from Douglas Street to Clover Point. You can also reach "Mile 0" from the park. Finally, there is also the Beacon Park Children Farm, where you can see chickens, peacocks, pigs, lamas, and goats, which you can pet and interact with!!
google avatar

Jessica S.

Yelp
This is a park! It has some great views and is just beautiful to spend the day getting lost in. We found some trees that I had never seen before. Plenty of paths and trails that lead to all ends of the park, but not so many that you would totally lose your way. There is plenty of parking and the park is free. There's ducks, a petting zoo, a light house, and peacocks oh my! The peacocks are probably my favorite part besides the view of the coastline. In Austin there is a park with peacocks hanging around but I think there are far more here. It's almost like a fun game of seek and find. They hang in the trees, around corners, behind bushes. They don't seem to mind people and will even pose for your pictures. Can't wait to go back in the summer but this park is a place to stop no matter the time of year.
google avatar

Taylor H.

Yelp
Skip the garden tours and relax in the park. Save some green and enjoy the scenes. Want to see a peacock? Come to the beacon hill paaaaark... In done with the puns, but seriously, come here for the funs...
google avatar

Stephanie S.

Yelp
This is the most beautiful park I've ever been to. It's worth the time to walk through it when visiting Victoria.
google avatar

Melissa T.

Yelp
My mom and I walked here on a weekday morning from our hotel. It seems like everyone leaving a review is also a visitor and spent very little time here. I would have loved to have been able to stay here longer, there's a ton to see and we kept mainly to the big roads, so I'm sure there's tons of hidden treasures. We entered from the Douglas and Southgate corner (north west side), passed Goodacre Lake, then the rose garden, the children's farm, the cricket field, before having to look for a restroom. We kept trying to explore, found the world's tallest totem pole, seeing a bit of the waterfront trail, but eventually had to turn back because of time. On the way back we saw a heron nesting area ... there's just tons of hidden pockets in the park, it's very well landscaped and incredibly peaceful. This was my favorite part of staying in Victoria, way more interesting to me than the parliament buildings!!! The only downside was limited bathrooms
google avatar

Jenn G.

Yelp
This is a very cool small park near downtown Victoria. Walked along the coastline and with great views of the ocean and mountains before arriving here. Walk to the park that have multiple ponds and fountains with dogs and people feeding them although signs recommend not feeding. Beautiful area to walk around. They have a petting zoo and a playground if you have kids. We were lucky we got to see a group of peacocks and a bald eagle flying around.
google avatar

Joseph Y.

Yelp
Parks is one thing that Canada excels at really well; I've yet to visit a bad one yet. Beacon Hill was another beautiful park located inside the city of downtown Victoria. Located between highway 1 and Cook St, the park spans several blocks. The park includes many fields, trails, ponds, rec center and even a petting zoo. This is definitely a great place to escape the city and enjoy some outdoors without having to travel too far. If you enjoy running outdoors, there are many trails and pathways to take with minimal inclines. Also if you travel towards the south to the ocean, there's an excellent lookout point where you can see the entire bay area. Beacon Hill is a top notch park that's clean, safe and very well up kept. This is a place you should definitely visit when in Victoria.
google avatar

Howard S.

Yelp
This is a beautiful, very large park in downtown Victoria - analogous to London's Hyde or Green Park, NYC's Central Park, San Diego's Balboa; Park; St. Louis' Forrest Park, etc. It has a great variety of huge trees, flowers, water birds, peacocks, deer; as well as many walking and bike paths. It is well worth a visit if you are in Victoria.
google avatar

Farwa H.

Yelp
Kind of the free, less maintained version of Butchart Gardens but not without its own charms! This is a rustic little place with its own colorful flower arrangements and a menagerie of many different birds. In the short time that I was there, I saw several free, fully flighted ducks, peacocks, and herons amongst other animals. More wild than the Butchart, Beacon Hills offers a different but just as beautiful and worthwhile of an experience.
google avatar

Angela P.

Yelp
Great views and exercise! Lots of peacocks around!
google avatar

Melody M.

Yelp
What a beautiful and large park !!! The park has playgrounds, some ponds were you can see swans and ducks swim around, lots of grassy areas to sit and have a picnic, beautiful flowers and trees in gardens where you can wander around in. There is also a petting zoo and nearby peacocks frolic around.
google avatar

Jenn B.

Yelp
Great park! What beautiful scenery. I really enjoyed the walk we took here. It's a big park, and I feel like we barely scratched the surface of all the great stuff here! Would definitely come back if I'm ever in British Columbia again.
google avatar

Scott H.

Yelp
So large, plenty of places to walk around and lots of paths. Ponds, grass, beautiful trees, amazing park. The bathrooms are campground quality but nothing to complain about. Just don't expect a hotel quality bathroom experience.
google avatar

Kendra F.

Yelp
Make sure to bring breads crumbs for the many ducks and peacocks ! This park is very nice ! Great for kids ! Playground and watering can ! Along with petting zoo ! I believe there is admission to petting zoo but the rest is a public free park ! Beautiful flowers , can only imaging how much better it will look by April !

Yelp
Very beautiful park. Huge! We rented bikes in downtown Victoria and rode 15 minutes to the park. Tons of gorgeous flowers! Small ponds and ducks. Playground for little kids. A darling Children's zoo, too.

Yelp
Amazing, free garden. Perfect for walking. Impeccably groomed. There are resident peacocks who croon like cats.

Yelp
I came here as a kid, moved far away, but still manage to visit Victoria once in a while. Now when I visit I take my kids here. The only thing that's changed here in the past 30 years has been the play ground equipment and there is now a small water park. This park is just as beautiful as it was way back in the 90's. Great place to spend a relaxing day and unwind. Also, don't forget to bring some food for the ducks!
