Best Detroit Cafes or Coffeehouses with Free WiFi for Working From Home | Eater Detroit

"The largest of the downtown Detroit parks, the contemporary and visually stunning Beacon Park has vibrant art installations, events year-round on its astroturf, and free WiFi. On warm days, sign on to work before a game of cornhole. Lumen, a full-service restaurant and bar, anchors the park and has a rooftop patio that overlooks the park grounds. The restaurant has an assortment of snacks perfect for outdoors: Everything Bagel Wings, with dill, lemon, and celery; calamari with cherry peppers and local herbs; cheese and charcuterie; and pretzels with Dijon mustard." - Monica Williams

Small but beautiful park, lots of places around to get food. Shaded areas to sit. Different activities rotate. We saw the Optik, fun and beautiful!

We went on a Friday Night. It was gorgeous out. The drinks were delicious and refreshing. I highly recommend the Meatballs. They were best I have had in city. It's a nice place. I only wish the cleared dishes away faster. I stared at empty plates for most my evening, even when they came back to table several times. We stayed for a few more drinks after food and they just kept building up. They also have servers with tables at opposite ends of the restaurant, so it can take a while for server to return. Not the servers fault, just an annoying business practice. Just something to be aware of if you don't like to wait a long time between table stops. Definitely worth going back again for the food. What I saw everyone else eating also looked really good.

Had a fantastic time celebrating my Birthday on the rooftop. My only complaint, services were slow, people could not order dinner items until everyone ordered appetizers, even if they didn’t want appetizers.

Big open green space for kids to play. Seating is there. Nice little park right in the heart of it all.

I attended Beacon Park's Cider in the City event and I loved it!! The event was very well done! It runs Oct 11th-12th and the 18th-19th. It features a pop up pumpkin patch, Blake Farm's cider and donuts and horse driven wagon rides.

Went for a pop-up event and it was so fun! The park is beautiful and well maintained. And I think it is perfect for events. There’s a great spot for food trucks at the side of the park also that doesn’t disrupt the regular flow of traffic which is great. I will say that because it is artificial turf instead of real grass on top of it being so well manicured - it is a bit hard to find places for my dog to sniff around without him trying to get into the flowerbeds. But I think this is a great park for events and to let kids run around (plenty of space for them to actually run and get out energy!). There is also Circle Park (attached to the DTE building) right next door, which is also a public park, and that has plenty of space for dogs to sniff about and for putting out a picnic blanket if Beacon is a bit crowded with an event. Super excited to check out more events here!

Beacon Park is super open and friendly to all types. It's clean and very interesting designed. It's very unique in its layout, and it's a good place to have a sandwich or hang out on a warm day. Some of the foot traffic there can be distracting at times, but it's a great spot to enjoy none the less.

Really love all that has happened downtown over the last 10 yrs! A ton of huge improvements! This is a cool little place to relax with friends, family or even alone. There is plenty of seating but can imagine it gets super busy here sometimes. It is located right outside lumen which is a really good resturant!
