Latest Restaurant Closings in New Orleans, March 2025 - Eater New Orleans

"A bean-centric restaurant located in Beanlandia, offering a globally informed culinary program focused on legumes. Closed due to unsustainability of the concept." - Beth D'Addono

Came upon the Bean Museum walking around the lovely Bywater neighborhood. Beanlandia is home base for the Krewe of Red Beans. What a great find!! Lovely Katherine greeted us kindly and promised us our money back if we didn't think the tour was worthwhile....needless to say, it was VERY worthwhile! Like other Social Aid & Pleasure clubs, the Krewe of Red Beans holds an annual parade - not on Mardi Gras....but on Lundi Gras. That is not the only way they differ. They have given amazing support to the community and now have this wonderful warehouse, which they have transformed into "beanlandia", a culture hub and community space. So....grap a popsicle and take a look around. It is fascinating, super creative, and your donation will go to a good cause.

A small but mighty museum just like the humble bean. The museum is a great stop on your trip to New Orleans. Come check out the art, learn, and build community.

Beanlandia offers a delightful experience for visitors of all ages. The pop-up food and popsicles add an interactive and playful element to the museum, making it both educational and enjoyable. The inclusion of fun facts inside enhances the learning experience, providing visitors with interesting tidbits about beans and their significance in various cultures and cuisines. What a unique and entertaining way to appreciate the humble bean. THANKS BATMAN!!!

Weird middle class gatekeepy vibe, i showed up to volunteer my labor for a different org and the person at the door tried to make me feel like i was doing something wrong by being on the premises as a non-member of Beanlandia. Edit, since google doesn't let you reply to businesses that reply: obviously I'm not going to pay for the privilege of volunteering my labor, which is why Mayahuel made a guest list for non-members after Beanlandia sprung this on them last-minute. I work two jobs already as it is and I'm just trying to be a part of my community, and you made me feel unwelcome in my own neighborhood. Please check your priorities.
