We grabbed food here, the pastrami sandwich tasted great but was quite thin, especially compared to the picture they post on their site. It was very good though, could have used more meat. Also had a grilled cheese. Sat outside, great weather.

Google
Really loved it. Had a pastrami sandwich on gluten free bread, which was unexpected and great. Bag of chips and a local side for a reasonable price. In The Boston Public Market, which is pretty good for lunch . Nice atmosphere, better food than the Hall around the corner. And this is one of the better places for lunch inside. Dude making the sandwiches has made a few in his time.. added to the “ambience”.

Google
This was one if the best pastrami sandwiches I've had. Normally pastrami I've had from the deli is thinly sliced, this was more like chopped brisket, but had all the flavor of deli pastrami, it was great. If your hungry don't be cheap, get the half pound sandwich. I did light rye, deli mustard but only did 1/3 pound, should have gone half. The 1/4 pound wouldn't be enough for most folks. Great customer service and great simple sandwich.

Google
Such a delicious pastrami sandwich!! I ordered a create your own sandwich and ended up eating half of my husbands pastrami sandwich because it was SO GOOD! The sandwich was really light and not drenched in sauce/oil/butter. Lovely guys working the register. Ate and left no crumbs!

I ate at beantown in the Boston Logan airport today, July 23 2025, and it was absolutely the worst service I have experienced in my entire life. I ordered the turkey club, and was told to tap my card to pay. My tap did not work, so I inserted the card and the worker said “are you unable to follow directions? It says tap, that is the only way to pay”. I was taken aback by her demeanor, but thanked her. She then said, “we don’t have turkey, chicken, or ham” after I had just paid for my turkey sandwhich. She had charged me a ridiculous $22 for a pastrami Rueben, a sandwhich that I did not even want. I was infuriated, but did not want to make any sort of scene as I was in an airport and in a hurry for my flight. My food was then slammed onto the counter, the box covered in sauce and food scraps, which sprayed all over my brand new white pants. When I opened the box, this is the sandwhich that I was met with - a soggy, cold pastrami sandwhich. Again, this is the absolute worst experience I have ever had with a food industry worker, and created this account simply to write this review. If I could give 0 stars, I absolutely would. I am unsure if this individual is employed by the company directly, or the airport, so I would love a response from the owner/manager clarifying who is responsible for her hiring. Edited to correct pricing, was actually $22, not $25

This little place is located in the The Boston Public Market. The person who waited on us was very friendly and helpful. We ordered the Grilled Pastrami Rachel and Classic Pastrami with a side of Baked Beans. The sandwiches were fantastic and the baked beans were some of the best we had while in the area or anywhere. Our food was prepared fresh while we waited. We will return again when in the area as they take the time and make great food.

Google
Awesome place with great food. I had the sourdough pastrami with honey mustard and provolone cheese and it was awesome!!! Would highly recommend it!

Google
Pastrami Reuben served hot from the counter with friendly quick service. Very delicious, great spot for a quick and tasty lunch (menu offers other sandwiches too). Located inside the Boston Public Market so plenty of seating around if you want to sit down & enjoy it.

Yelp
Highly recommend coming to Beantown Pastrami- excellent Pastrami Rueben Sandwich- picked cabbage, Russian Dressing and Swis Cheese then Panama style served warm. Located in Boston Market- -top 10 Reuben in US!

Yelp
My first Pastrami Sandwich did not disappoint! I got it on gluten free bread and it was really good!! Love the market this place is in such a pretty cool spot to walk around! The man at the counter was quick and efficient but made the sandwich really well!! If I lived in Boston this would be my new spot for both a pretty good quality and inexpensive sandwich!

Yelp
We were hangry for sure -- so understand that anything would have been tasty at this point. But this simple pastrami and cheese sandwich felt like something my dad would prepare when I was a kid and hungry. Needless to say, I LOVED it. I would recommend this to literally anybody who loves the savory taste of pastrami.

Yelp
Everything here was great except for the portion of pastrami. I was so hungry that i didn't want to take it back and fight over it. It did it's job and i have room leftover for dessert. It was crunchy, it was creamy and when i had pastrami, it was meaty and full of flavor. They have a huge selection of these craft sodas. Like 10 flavors! I got a peach one. I loved it so much, i went back and got a pineapple! So refreshing!

Yelp
Myself and a co worker were looking for lunch in Boston Public Market. I was expecting tourist quality food. I was wrong. I ordered the roasted turkey sandwich. I can honestly say it was the best turkey sandwich I have ever had. Weeks later I couldn't stop thinking of it. Other co workers made fun of me buying a turkey sandwich when pastrami is in their name. Others because I wouldn't stop talking about it. Today my mockers went there themselves and declared not only was I correct but one also stated it was the best sandwich he has ever had. Neither of us could explain why. A third co worker texted me a photo of himself in front of their menu board. Then it dawned on me. It was describing how they bake fresh turkey daily and listed some of the spices/ingredients. That's the secret. Find out for yourself.

Yelp
This really was a scrumptious sandwich on a yummy gluten-free toasted bread. There was plenty of meat in the pastrami sandwich, and the other toppings complemented it nicely. It was a little on the higher priced side for my preference, but I was traveling with my water bottle, so I just opted out of buying a drink from them. The service was amazing. The location is super fun, too!

Yelp
Stopped in for a pastrami grilled Rachel . 14.95 1.00 for 1/2 pickle Well, I'm embarrassed I wasted hard earned money during inflationary times. The sandwich was grilled and bread had greasy touch vs other Reuben's where rye bread is toasted grilled . Now; I am used to nice Jewish deli pastrami sandwiches like I eat at Mikes in Brookline or elsewhere... at least they put some flavorful lean sliced home made pastrami in a sandwich for 16 bucks... here at Beantown very few pieces were cold like pre sliced days in advance, no meat flavor, just real bad for a place calling itself Beantown Pastrami... must be counting the pastrami slices like beans to assure just enough to legally call a pastrami sandwich. Vs. a cole slaw grill cheese melt. Cole slaw in sandwich was redeeming but not enough to salvage this mess . 1/2 pickle for a buck extra was lousy to... like 3 days out of pickle juice... not cut fresh from the pickle jug... I'll stay away and drive the 15 minutes further to Mike's for pastrami. Boston public market s close to better sandwich spots in North End... I take the blame for this bad decision to never repeat. Beantown better to just sell grill cheeses or pastrami dust , or just scented pastrami sandwiches without the meats... who has the meats from commercials... not at this place... Boston Public market needs better offerings or not worth parking garage charges even with the validation. My last advice... just go to North end for better sandwiches.

Lili P.

Yelp
Fast service. Small sandwiches. The meat was flavorful but not worth the price. The beans came in a container with 1/3 full of liquid and definitely have an acquired taste. I was visiting from out of town and the Italian sandwich I got from the North End was so much better.

Yelp
This is for sure a 3.5 star review but I just can't give them 4. I ordered the Pastrami Reuben for my first meal in Boston! What to like? You can see then slicing their Pastrami and Corned Beef when making the sandwiches so you know this is fresh quality meats. I asked them what is their favorite sandwich was and they told me Pastrami Reuben so that's what I had to go to. Now they do theirs a little different. They use Pickled Coleslaw instead of Sauerkraut which is actually better for me since I'm not the biggest Sauerkraut fan. I will say this Rueben was for sure on the better end of what I can get in Jacksonville but it's just no where near where top Delis are making their sandwiches. Again, big fan of the Pickled Coleslaw but the Pastrami was just ok. it's just not the melt in your mouth stuff that I have had and some bites were a bit tough. All and all good sandwich and I was happy with it but just not something I'm going out of my way to tell people about.
google avatar

Arianne R.

Yelp
My yummy pastrami on rye! I had to try this little pastrami place inside of the Boston Public market. The pastrami could've been cut a little thinner for my taste, but that is just my personal preference. Overall, the sandwich was quite tasty and well worth the visit.
google avatar

Ed A.

Yelp
One of the best meals in the Boston Public Market! My go to is the pastrami rueben- the star of the show here is the pastrami which melts in your mouth, incredible. They do a phenomenal job on the slaw too though, the whole sandwich comes together perfectly. Lots of cool sandwich options here too is the Reuben is not your thing. Matt is one of the friendliest guys I've meant... ask him to put pickled jalapeños on your sandwich so spice it up!
google avatar

Shanee H.

Yelp
I went to this place before COVID and they were amazing... sandwiches piled mile-high... post-COVID I suggested this place while at work after I raved about how amazing the sandwiches are.. so we decided to order I ordered the Rachel a pretty good size sandwich. My sandwich bread was soggy and not full with pastrami as advertised when I opened the sandwich the pastrami was so sparse that I could see the bread between the meat .. there was barely any pastrami.. and the pickle was soft, flaccid and half the size of the pickles spares you get in the jar from the supermarket....needless to say I was completely disappointed for more than one reason I hope they get better because they are really amazing.. sorry I had a bad experience
google avatar

Bob S.

Yelp
We ordered the Pastrami Sandwich and the Traditional Reuben. Both were pretty good but I thought the pastrami was better than the corned beef.
google avatar

Simona H.

Yelp
I drove very far for this and it was incredibly disappointing. I first order the traditional pastrami sandwich it costs $12 and it was the tiniest sandwich soggy and barely had any pastrami inside. I showed them a picture of what I want and they said I'd have to order the 1/2 pound pastrami sandwich so I paid a total of $20 for a sandwich that is smaller than my tiny palm. Definitely did not get 1/2 pound of pastrami I don't even think it was 1/4 pound l. They lied to me about how much they used. They don't even have 1/2 pound on the menu. Taste.... Just ok ... I liked the mustard. This sandwich is worth no more than $7. I wouldn't come back here

Yelp
Delicious but became pretty one note halfway through (that's a personal problem though and isn't contributing to the lost star). Detailed breakdown below: **Service, 3/5** Nice guy but removing a star for no mask and removing another star because he wrapped the sandwich with dirty, sauced-up gloves, which meant when I was unwrapping my sandwich, the oil and grease and sauce on the paper got all over my hands. The wrapping paper is supposed to keep your hands clean! **Decor and cleanliness, 4/5** This is located in Boston Public Market, which is very gorgeous and clean inside! Just the no mask made me feel like everything was slightly less safe. **Price and portion size, 4/5** I got a full sandwich (~$19) to split with a friend and it wasn't as big as I expected, but that's okay because it's still very filling with the generous portion of meat. **Presentation of the food, 2/5** Just a paper wrap would've been totally fine but the outside was super dirty and greasy from the sauce. Other stalls in BPM have much more thoughtful presentation of their food. **Taste, 5/5** The pastrami itself takes this review from 3 to 4 stars. It's thick-cut and sooo juicy and tender. The way it's sliced too makes it so easy to eat! It's well seasoned and not tough or chewy at all, so I have no regrets about trying this place out. If I ever come back, I'll probably just order a half sandwich and might even split that with someone, so I can really enjoy the pastrami without getting too full or tired of the tons of meat.

Spencer J.

Yelp
We ordered the classic Reuben and pastrami grilled cheese from Chris, who prepared them to perfection. Great service, great food, always a good experience. Thank you

Chris R.

Yelp
Food and Service is fantastic!!! All the meat is hand carved and the Rachel is to die for!

Ww H.

Yelp
Maybe I am spoiled with NYC pastrami spots but this place overcharges and under delivers. $20 got me this measly sandwich that was lacking in size and in flavor. The Cole slaw flavor of this "Pastrami Rachel" sandwich was nowhere to be found. Meat was not generous. Bread was pretty low quality.

Randy J.

Yelp
I ordered a 1/2 lb Reuben for a whopping $26 and what a disgrace . The Corned beef was dry ,a little tough and flavorless .I think the marbled rye was Peppridge Farm bread and I am not kidding . They put the Russian dressing on with an eye dropper, I thought they forgot to put it on the sandwich . You would think for $26 dollars it would come with a pickle or a lousy bag of chips but it doesn't.I am from Boston and the food scene here gets worse every single year unless you want to spend a lot of time sitting in traffic driving to this place or that.

Carrie K.

Yelp
Chris went over and above making me the standard pastrami sandwich. I have special food needs and he didn't have a problem helping me at all! I will be back and if you have a chance stop and eat at this local gem!
google avatar

Chirag P.

Yelp
For a Pastrami sandwich, its expensive. I mean its Haymarket, and in Boston Public Market on top of that I'm sure their rent is insane. As others mentioned, its not sliced deli style pastrami, but actual large slices of pastrami. Got mine on a brioche his dijon mustard, lettuce, tomato. Pastrami was flavorful, and so tender it melted as i was chewing, delicious! If in the area and was in the mood for a good sandwich, I'd come back here. Pickle spear was also good.

Andrew G.

Yelp
Pastrami and corned beef were unmatched. Gluten free bread was chefs kiss. Good customer service. Didn't have to wait long. A bit spendy but was worth it.

Yelp
I grew up on strict Pastrami rules inside Old deli's with Jewish Accents and Yiddish and a hot crispy Knish. Who Knew? An Eastie Could cook Pastrami? Well Chris Can. Not only is this a Special little Joint. So is the proprietor. And if you take the time, Or if he has the time, You may find out how Life's twists and turns Can land you in the Oddest Places. Not to say Boston is 'Odd' but to say It is 'Different'. Massachusetts has a Range of hospitality, I've experienced it first hand. THIS is something Totally Different whilst Repping Boston to the Fullest. So on an afternoon jaunt Through the city there came a suggestion via an app for the best Pastrami in Boston, I'm in. Let's GO. And Go we did. I'm thinking a small Deli and I arrive to The food market. You know the one. Every city seems to Have these. And thank The Lord! In the middle near the Seating area is Beantown Pastrami. I just wanted a Quick nosh before dinner. So we ordered one pastrami Grilled cheese split it with a small bag of chips. OMG. Although initially A bit 'light' on the pastrami The Sandwich was a Revelation. So Simple Yet Simply Succulent. Crispy Buttery Toasted Bread with cheeses melting Off the sides and meat Peaking out ever so Slightly. It's almost Pornographic. You will End up licking something. Your fingers or the cheese Melting. Trust. And then there was the Pastrami. Sparse yet Sublime. So we walked Away after and I swear 15-20 minutes later I said We HAVE TO GO BACK! Thank the heavens we Were the second to last Customer of the day. And he had time and We listened to hear one Of the most interesting Stories I've heard in some Time. Oh and he made a PROPER PASTRAMI.

Kelly T.

Yelp
I stopped by Boston public market pick up a quick drink, past bean town pastrami and was very intrigued. I asked Chris if they were open (which they were not) and he made a sandwich for me. he was so nice and really went the extra mile to serve us (even tho it was past business hours). The sandwich itself was one of the top 2 best Rueben's I have ever had in my life. Thank you Chris for your amazing customer service and sandwich skills :)
google avatar

Shashu B.

Yelp
A great pastrami sandwich. The meat is flavorful, moist and delicious and the bread is incredibly fresh. The marble rye is the way to go. They also have excellent half sour pickles. No, it's not Katz's but it's also not $25 for a sandwich (I think it's around $10?). Great sandwich and a great value.
google avatar

Christopher O.

Yelp
Fantastic!! We had an Absolutely delicious Pastrami and corned beef sandwich on our visit to Boston recently. You'll find them in the Boston Market. Fresh, no nitrates. Make it a point to get your pastrami cuz while you are here. The service is top notch too! The owner took great care of us. Highly recommend Beantown Pastrami.
google avatar

Bernie W.

Yelp
Located inside the Boston Public Market, I would have to say this was the best Pastrami I have had in ages, juicy succulent, well spiced with a nice smokiness. Staff was super friendly, we took a pastrami rueben to go and enjoyed at the Pine Bar a few stalls down, great combination. Next time you are in Boston, skip the tourist trap of Quincey Market, walk another block or so and experience what a food hall should be.
google avatar

Trevor S.

Yelp
Boston tourist here from Texas. I loved the Rachel sandwich. The quality of the pastrami was fantastic along with the delicious slaw and Russian dressing. It was hard not to go back for seconds!!!
google avatar

Clive V.

Yelp
I ordered the sandwich on an onion roll and wasn't able to finish it, the flavor of the meat with the mustard was just too much for me. Maybe someone else would like it but I wouldn't order again.

Jen B.

Yelp
Rachel sandwich was delicious! I love the pastrami here. Staff works super hard and efficiently, just two employees and both are excellent.
google avatar

Bruce K.

Yelp
Um, what? There's a place in the Boston Public Market and all they do is pastrami and corned beef sandwiches? Sign me up! I got my "rachel" sandwich to go and this is how it's done. Pastrami, cole slaw, Swiss cheese and russian dressing on their light rye bread. Grilled, of course. All assembled right in front of me, to order. Yep, they also have the potato salad and the cole slaw to go and a variety of sodas. Back at the ranch, I dug into this monster sandwich. Nice thick slices of pastrami, not too moist. Plenty messy and very tasty flavor. Yum!
google avatar

Greg D.

Yelp
I've tried this twice. The first time they were out of pastrami. I thought that was pretty amazing a place with pastrami in their name out of.....pastrami. In any event, I got corned beef instead. It was just okay. Recently I decided to give it another shot and this time I got pastrami. It was decent but I wouldn't say it was any more than decent. I've had better pastrami sandwiches and the portion isn't huge for the price (over $14 for a sandwich and a diet soda). Also, the beverage selection isn't great. Overall, as I said it is okay but I wouldn't go out of my way to return.
google avatar

Bill M.

Yelp
Outstanding pastrami sandwich. Not ridiculously expensive but worth every cent. Top quality in every way.

Thomas H.

Yelp
We had the Rachel on sourdough. Absolutely delicious sandwich! Thanks Chris
google avatar

Della S.

Yelp
Messy but super soft and juicy pastrami! A great option to have in the Boston Public Market when you're craving meat. You can customize your own sandwich (price varies depends on how many fillings you add at 75¢ each) or choose between the three special sandwiches ($13 before tax). They have a couple other items like hamburgers which can be slightly cheaper depending on what you add to them. Their pastrami is cut very thick but is super tender and practically melts on your tongue. In my opinion the sandwiches are kind of small. This is a great place to go for lunch but I wouldn't come here if I was really hungry. I wouldn't consider this a grab-and-go place. They assemble each sandwich to order and they take a while to toast the sandwiches so don't expect to get your food quickly especially if there is a long line. The sandwiches themselves fall apart easily so you might end up needing a fork to pick up the pieces that fall out. If the weather is nice, I recommend sitting outside. Staying inside the Public Market too long will cause your hair and clothing to smell like smoke.
google avatar

George B.

Yelp
The pastrami here is not particularly for me, although I'm used to NY deli style-pastrami. To me, the meat is a bit fatty and to thick. That being said, the sandwich was still fine and the people working at Beantown Pastrami do a good job. I had the Rachel sandwich, which is pastrami with coleslaw on buttered rye. I think it had thousand island dressing too. The bread smelled AMAZING. Seriously, I was standing at the crosswalk sniffing the bag. I think the ratio of coleslaw to pastrami was too skewed too heavily to the slaw though. It was a fine sandwich, just not the sandwich for me. If I try this place again I'll likely order something with corned beef.
google avatar

Lyle B.

Yelp
Stopped in yesterday and grabbed a pastrami Rueben for lunch. Sooooo good! As my wife wasn't feeling up to walking, I was on my own to find something for her. So grabbed her a turkey sandwich with a tiny bit of mayo. That's it. Her response: BEST turkey sandwich she's ever had! That's quite the response from her as she eats lots of turkey sandwiches!
google avatar

Vivian C.

Yelp
For a bit of perspective, I like KFC's cole slaw. Beantown Pastrami's cole slaw was just as crisp, but healthier, less sweet, and pink. I preferred their potato salad of the two. $3.50 for 8 oz.

Frank T.

Yelp
I was at Logan Airport killing time walking around the Jet Blue terminal, when I came across Beantown Pastrami. It turned out to be the best part of my trip. Absolutely fantastic. The pastrami sandwich on rye was out of this world--moist and tasty with generous portions. I sat down at the bar next to the Beantown stand. The sandwich made the beer taste special! I savored the beer, sipping between bites. Unbelievable. It was one of those experiences when time slows down. Nothing annoyed me anymore. The hassles of the airport vanished. The staff was friendly the pickles and cold slaw sides rounded out a great meal. I will try to always fly jet blue so I can hit this place. Highest recommendation!
google avatar

Robert H.

Yelp
First of all the pastrami here is superb. Like others have mentioned it is not sliced but actually fresh pieces of high quality tender pastrami. All the ingredients are fresh. Very tasty. At $9 for a half sandwich it will set you back. Also the sandwich does not hold together as well as I had hoped. However if you are a fan of pastrami you should definitely check this place out. If a $13 or $17 sandwich is above your price range, save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere. I used to live in Seattle so I can say that the BPM is no Pike Place, but even PP is touristy.
google avatar

Gerald N.

Yelp
3.5 stars. Solid pastrami spot with plenty of meat on their sandwiches. Could be a bit pricey but if you only get it once in a while, it's not bad. Came on a weekend and it was packed in the market but there was no line at this shop. Seating is at the communal tables next to the shop. 1. Rachel sandwich - Pastrami, cole slaw, ranch sauce. It was quite a bit TOO saucy and thus salty as I was in pursuit of water for hours after lunch; the opposite of a rabid dog. Overall, I'd only come back if my friends took me.
google avatar

Tim S.

Yelp
Polite and fast but was a terrible disappointment. As a Bostonian, a pastrami with pickles is a staple. The pickles are bad (garlic?), Pastrami was chunks not served the correct way (chunks? Not shredded? No one does that), bread? No Bulkie! This place is an embarrassment and needs to change it's name. Terrible
google avatar

Alik W.

Yelp
I'm waffling between three and four stars here. It's a 3.5 even. What's good, nay great, is the namesake: the pastrami. It is brisket on par with any New York name you care to drop, and I've had most of those. Soft, lovely balance of lean and fat, and piles of smoke and pepper. The problems are the bad: - There's not enough of it! People are comparing this to Katz's. A sandwich from Katz barely fits in your mouth. I do not understand the reviews below claiming that the half sandwich is huge. I would happily have had twice the meat in it. - The rye is weird. As in, it has the sweet taste and sort of squishy texture of supermarket bread. There's got to be better rye in this town. - Total tourist trap. Ok, I suppose it's not exactly their fault they're I the Public Market. But the prior two bullets are almost certainly because they need to keep costs low to afford the ridic rent. If I had to do it again, I'd get just a pound of meat, then take it home and make my own damn sandwich.
google avatar

Diana N.

Yelp
This lovely establishment can be found in the Boston Public Market. I went here close to closing time and they still had pastrami left. I ordered one sandwich: pastrami, dijion mustard, on sourdough bread. It was FANTASTIC. Next time I stop by, I definitely want to ask if they can toast the bread. But I will mention that the softer bread was able to catch all of the yummy pastrami juices, so perhaps leaving it as is would be best. Parking can be tough on weekends but there is the Haymarket garage and you can validate your ticket at various establishments in the area.
google avatar

Craig C.

Yelp
The only thing we had here was a cup of the Reuben Chowder, but after eating it I wish I got one of everything on the menu. Super flavorful, and came out piping hot. We very much enjoyed it - if you imagine what a Reuben chowder would be, this one was executed perfectly. Next time we're back in Boston, we'll definitely be grabbing more from Beantown Pastrami.
google avatar

Kristen R.

Yelp
Out of the many many options you have to choose from at the Boston public market, you HAVE to stop here. Best Reuben I've had in my life, better than my grandmas better than anything. My boyfriend and I wanted to sample a lot of different foods. Beantown was our first stop, we ordered one Reuben to share. CHRIS was so nice and walked us through the different types of options they offer. He was so genuine and even walked all the way over to us to make sure we loved the food. After we finished our halves we immediately got back in line to order another Reuben and a Rachel. WOWOWOWOW SO GOOD.
google avatar

Lisa T.

Yelp
I was visiting Boston and checked out this spot in the market. I got the Rachel sandwich which I enjoyed and the pastrami was just made. It was defs a good breakfast choice

Chris P.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious. Anyone complaining about the price of the pastrami sandwich is an uncultured swine who doesn't know how much real pastrami costs. Best pastrami in town!
google avatar

Ariana J.

Yelp
The staff here went above and beyond to share samples and ensure I had the best sandwich possible. I picked a reuben, and it was one of the best I've ever had. The sandwich is well worth the price, and I would recommend you stop by - even if just for samples.

Yelp
I'm sorry this missed the Mark for me and to compare it to Katz deli Is delusional , maybe the pastrami I had was old because of the 18 inches a snow but it wasn't good I took a few bites and the trash got the rest of it my the only plug I give is that it was a meaty sandwich but dry and the pastrami had a lackluster flavor!!
