Such a cute restaurant with great decorations and great vibe. Staff is super friendly and accommodating. Came here for breakfast and had the egg sandwich - all the ingredients tasted so fresh and very filling. Highly recommend the Ramble in the Bramble iced latte but all their coffee combinations sound delicious. And the Toms on Top toast was very good too! Also LGBTQ friendly

Great coffee, great ambience and even better service. I would visit Bear and Fox just for their antique and rustic looking ambience let alone their aromatic coffee. Limited but interesting contemporary menu and nice seating areas to cater to all types of customers. One can get a book and warm the couch or enjoy hot coffee on a bar stool. They sell mostly local products in and around the area. Did I mention they use recyclable and biodegradable cups and lids? Simple place, simple service but will definitely make our day.

Very cute and cozy shop! The staff is super nice and the drinks are amazing, I tried the Jolene latte and the blackberry cold brew. I also tried the spice egg sandwich which was deff my favorite food.Definitely excited to come back!

I love looking for coffee shops everywhere I go and stumbled on this place after we hiked Kaaterskill Falls. Their Black Bear Burger is a MUST to try. I also had their Jolene which paired well with my burger. If this place wasn't on the opposite direction of where we needed to go we would've came back the next day just to get burgers to go! 😁

Excellent little coffee shop and store. The breakfast items (egg sandwich and tomato toast) were spectacularly made with fresh and local ingredients. The s’mores latte gave all the best notes of the campfire treat that you know and love.

Was hungry after hiking Inspiration Point nearby, and was looking for a donut place I had visited awhile back. I mistakenly went to Bear & Fox after it showed up in a search, which turned out to be a good error. They had no donuts, however they do have the Catskill vibe down. Sometimes this bugs me as it's an excuse to just not take care of your building; in this case other than the bathroom, it works. Only the owner was here and he was a nice guy. Lots of retail items, some pricey some not. I picked up some Catskill Schwartzbier for later on which I was commended for. In terms of food, I got the Bear & Fox bagel (everything bagel, local smoked trout, homemade scallion cream cheese, tomato and capers) except in true upstate fashion they only had plain bagels. This was one of the better bagel sandwiches I've had in awhile. I do not like trout typically. That said, I loved this trout. It was not oversmoked, a decent portion, and had great flavor. Scallion cream cheese is what I always get on bagels, so I'm a snob about it, and this one was great. They didn't overdo it on the capers, tomato was fresh, and they added everything bagel seasoning to make up for not having the bagel itself (which was good as is). The mark of a truly great restaurant is to 'sell' you on something you don't like, and these guys cleared that bar. Red eye over ice was good as well. I do want to find the fucking donut place as it's going to drive me crazy, however this place is damned good and will be hard to skip. Strikes a good balance of catering to both locals and tourists. I will be back!

Bear & Fox had such a sweet and peaceful ambiance. I loved the atmosphere. I only ordered a cup of coffee but had to wait a bit because there were so many orders. It was okay because there were stools available.

It looks like many hungry hikers end up here by chance ... how lucky are we!! It is the cutest "mountain provisions" place, and while the menu is limited - their food delivers a delicious and satisfying punch. And you can pick up essentials to bring back to your cabin. We enjoyed the avocado toast and the bear burger (which I just realized is an impossible burger). Holy cow, that was so perfectly prepared! Drinks were good, the service was friendly, and who doesn't love a pug as the welcome host? And their chocolate chip cookie was something quite special. I'm all in for this place and would return in a heartbeat.

I live 15 mins from Tannersville and I'm always open to new places, after my boyfriend bought a $10 egg sandwich, we waited about 20 minutes for it. Although there were 2 other orders in front of us, they seemed to be waiting a pretty long time as well. If they were understaffed I would understand, but there were 3 guys in the back and 1 of them was eating and the other just chatting. My boyfriend ended up not liking the sandwich because there was an overwhelming amount of thick cut tomato slices and a ton of spicy mayo that was pretty much the only thing you could taste on the sandwich. We ended up heading over to Circle W, where you can buy a $16 quality big sandwich that comes with a pickle and homemade Mac salad. Overall the place is great for rich tourists who romanticize everything, but not for everyone else...

The food here is delicious and everything organic and locally sourced. I got a dirty Gilda and an egg sandwich with basil Mayo and arugula. My boyfriend got the breakfast tacos, which were also delicious. The place is a nice and cozy and the staff is friendly, would definitely go back !

One of the best egg and cheese sandwiches I ever had. Dark yellow yolks, perfect brioche bun, fresh avocado, and their signature spicy sauce. Black coffee was great too.

Bear and Fox Provisions was one of the shops on my radar during my stay in the Catskills. It certainly exceeded my expectations as it was not only a really nice cafe with interesting and unique offerings but also a gift shop that carried merchandise from independent, local brands. It was such a thought-out shop because while you're waiting for your food and drink, you can peruse through the shop. Highlight: My partner and I bought the organic egg sandwiches. I believe each sandwich was around $10 each and you can add as many topping you want on it without additional cost. My partner thought it was a bit steep for an egg sandwich until he bit into it. He bit his tongue after because he said it was THE BEST egg sandwich he's ever had and it was to me too! They prepare the egg runny and if you like that like I do then this is for you! My partner doesn't but he still loved this egg sandwich! I added onions, avocado, arugula, and spicy mayo. It was an amazing combo from the oil and fatty from the egg, creamy from the avocado, crunch from the onion, aromatics from the arugula, and kick from the spicy mayo! It was the perfect meal at the beginning of the day to fuel our day of hiking! It fueled us for 5 hours too! I also got a mushroom hot chocolate for the novelty of it and I have to say I prefer it without, but that's just my taste. Nevertheless, I highly recommend coming here if you drive through.

Loved this coffee shop! They consistently had a long line both times we stopped but that just shows how GOOD the food is. The owners were very sweet and made small talk while we ordered. The food was made to order. He made the eggs and smashed the avocado for each sandwich. Order the heirloom sandwich with spicy sauce and avocado. You'll love their "sexy" egg on it!

I saw the reviews saying they were skeptical of if it was really 5 stars, and I had the same discovery they had IT IS! I had the egg sandwich for breakfast and I came back and had it for lunch. The pesto and white cheddar and that bun, Ugh. It's perfection. Also such a cute spot to post up for a bit, it's so charming. Will miss this place!!

Great coffee and gluten free breakfast sandwiches!! The vibes were immaculate and the staff was super friendly and nice to our dog . They also have an awesome backyard area with a fire pit and it's covered so you don't have to worry about rain! 12/10

Such a cute spot! The egg sandwich was one of the best I've ever had. Amazing, fresh ingredients and I added the basil mayo which was 10/10. Americano was solid and the owners were kind. Definitely recommend stopping in during your time in Tannersville!

Staff was extremely abrasive. Coffee was good, but not worth the weird energy. Nice ambiance.

Bear and fox does not do enough advertising. I've only been in twice. The first time, I was told there wasn't half and half for my coffee, which I thought was really strange. I was not happy about that lmao. Second time, I went in for a breakfast sandwich. This sandwich was made on a tiny grill in front of my eyes, which I thought was cool! And it was solid! I always forget about this place, and if it reserved greater real estate in my mind, I'd probably be there more often.

Got a latte with oat milk, and a chocolate croissant. Croissant was nice, soft and tasty just how I expect one to taste. The coffee though was only okay, I religiously drink an oat milk latte at home, and expect equal or better when going to a cafe but more was to be expected. The service was quick when I went with a large party, but don't expect too much from their coffee drinks.

I love this place! Our second time here, perfect pit stop after a hike. The first time, we ordered delicious beignets. This time around, we got the impossible burger and avocado toast. Both were super delicious and fresh. You can tell that they are thoughtful about the ingredients and flavors. They also sell yummy looking snacks, and cool home goods.

Bear and Fox is a local gem that keeps getting better and better. Great coffee, a limited but awesome menu and cool Catskills gifts. The people are super nice and the space is great. They just opened the back up with seating. Tannersville is on the rise and places like Bear and Fox are the reason why.

The absolute BEST avocado toast and rose matcha latte EVER! The atmosphere of this shop is so cozy and homey. Cute Knick knack and gift items -- even food! The decorations are amazing but nothing can top the floral arrangements by fig.a.floral (located in the shop). The floral arrangements are created with such unique pieces that blend together magnificently in equally creative vessels. There's seating inside and out. Had a nice knit with my rose matcha latte (3rd of the 4 I had this visit). The owners are friendly, attentive and truly appreciate the business. Can't wait to go back!!

Great egg sandwiches with a unique twist. The buns and the eggs were well toasted and cooked. Fantastic choices of local snacks and even some gift ideas and souvenirs. A+

Adorable new place in town! Charming & very appropriate decor for the Mountains! Tables inside & on the porch. Coffee, baked goods, specials & more on the way. I had the special toast offered today & it was delicious. They have some essential provisions for the Catskill crowd! Look forward to watching the business grow!

Ordered a latte got a cup of milk for 7.50. Terrible. If you want coffee go to Fellow. It's crowded but faster and significantly superior. And the people working there actually greet you.

Hands down the best place in town! Great coffee and avo and ricotta toasts! I could sit all afternoon in this beautiful setting. They have baked goods and local treats for sale. Good music, great vibes! In love!

this is our go-to coffee shop in Hunter/Tannersville. the coffee is great, the food is great (easily the best egg sandwiches in the area -- you can tell how fresh the eggs are by the colors of the yolks), and i love the ambience inside. They serve Bread Alone bagels, which are the best bagels you can get outside of the city. They have a bunch of cute gifts, art, basic produce, floral arrangements, and necessities. They do it all! Whether you are buying or browsing, the inventory is always changing so it keeps it interesting. We also buy our coffee beans here. Last weekend, they had a local artist/potter in selling their work. Owners are super friendly. Prices are Brooklyn prices, but I felt they were fair and worth every cent for the quality you get (I spent $11 pre-tip for an egg sandwich + an iced coffee). Highly recommend to anyone in the area, and worth a 30+ min drive even if not in the immediate area. I look forward to them opening on a more full-time basis so I can frequent it here on weekdays.

Amazing cafe ! The coffee is incredible ! They have pastries and little bites like Avacado toast. I love how the owners experiment with seasonal drinks and use local find (such as berries, spices, etc.) In this area this is the cutest little spot for a solid cup of coffee or a latte.

This is a cute place right on the main strip. My friends and I ordered drinks and every single one was savory. Prices are reasonable for the quality and excellent service. I would happily return on my next outing to Tannersville and Phoenicia.

This is my second time coming to Bear and Fox, each visit was during a different season (and world). When I came in January this was a cozy escape with ample seating, excellent food, coffee and service. Also the local artisans they feature make for a great selection to purchase or just browse. I returned this summer during COVID to grab coffee and it did not disappoint. They set up the shop so that you stand on the porch while they take your order, everything is disinfected and clean. They have shelves up front to feature local products which I appreciated. Also their coffee is sooooo good. Highly recommend!

Delicious egg sandwich, avocado toast and lattes! Got my egg sandwich with cheddar, avocado, and spicy mayo... so good. Service was a bit slow, we waited about 15 minutes in line with the line going out the door, but it was worth it and I would do it again. Cool vibe inside. Will definitely return next time we're in town.

Great new place. Everyone that works there is so friendly. The coffee and the heirloom tomato toast are delicious. They also open early which is great.
