The 14 Best Restaurants In Newport Beach - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"As the sailboat out front flying a string of nautical flags suggests, Bear Flag takes seafood seriously. This casual spot has two locations in Newport Beach—one by Lido Marina Village, another in Crystal Cove. Both serve stellar fish that tastes like it was swimming just a few hours ago (and honestly, probably was). The fresh poke here pops, so grab a pound of it from the counter with some chips to start. The tacos and burritos are our go-to for something more substantial, with a long list of fillings to pick from, like black cod, halibut, snapper, octopus, and shrimp." - cathy park

Google
Checking out this place on a recommendation and it was great for lunch. There are good menu choices for all kinds of fish entrees but I was there for s poke bowl. You can build your own with different rice bases and toppings, sauces. I got salmon and it was delicious. The wife got a white fish taco and enjoyed it. We also got chips and guac and it was legit. No fountain drinks, all cans and bottles, beer, spirits. Ate outside as there was very limited indoor seating, which was fine but fairly windy and a bit cool. Great place!

Google
The fish was fresh. The food was good! If you're seated outside, it's extremely loud from the cars going by. They also don't have table service so you have to walk inside and order everything, grab your own utensils/sauces/napkins. I wish they had table service! I ordered 6 oysters, 1/2 pound Peruvian ceviche, and a glass of wine for $46.

Google
This fast casual was a gem of a find! Order at the counter, fresh poke bowls, sushi, calamari fries and grilled artichoke. The fish was perfectly fresh. They have a large outside patio with plenty of seats overlooking the beach. Staff was very friendly and working hard!

Google
Order at the counter and get what they have handy, or they bring it out to you a while later. Nobody is coming to your table to take your order here. There are lots of options for fish tacos, fish burritos, and fish platters. The side dishes were all pretty good, too. The Bear Flag Burrito is great if you're hungry, and the tacos are great if you want a little bit lighter fare and variety. Beer selection is okay and probably fits the beach fine. I didn't really look at the wine, but they had several red and white options. There's a good amount of seating outside, but tables also fill up fast. There is some bar seating as well. There are fire tables, but I didn't see any fire going when I was there this time. It's right next to the Pacific Coast Highway, so there were some motorcycles that went by and roared on their pipes, sometimes for a stretch at a time, which interrupted conversations. View of the beach and water is nice, with a light breeze able to come through.

Google
Great food, low prices, nice crowd. Great ocean view. Very hard parking. Long walk from parking to restaurant. My grandpa said food was not worth the walking and parking. Very hard driving into the area. It's a teenager hang out place.

Oz Harely Menaged

Google
Very good taste to go with friends. I need some fresh fish. I come you’re allowed. It’s next to my house. Love the tuna and would come here again.

Coach Kenny

Google
Our son turned us onto this spot saying the fish is fresh and amazing and he was absolutely right. We got the Poke Burrito which I was a bit hesitant but the staff said I would love it. I did. We also got chips and guacamole and calamari fingers. The chips and guac was good but nothing special. The calamari fingers were delicious. All together the meal was a hit and we will definitely be back.

Google
The customer service at the counter is amazing. Super friendly and quick. Poke was great. Clam chowder not bad. I’ll be back.

Yelp
Stopped there yesterday. AMAZING customer service and really good poke bowl. I would say the prices are reasonable. Overall recommended. Seating could be a bit bigger though.

Yelp
The poke here was decent and there's a decent amount of seating right along PCH which is nice. Bear flag is at the end of Pacific City where the food court is and is kind of tucked in the corner. Service was pretty quick despite being crowded and they validate for the Pacific City parking. We got 1 1/2 pounds of fish total for 2 people which was a little too much, especially considering it came with 3 bags of tortilla chips (1 for each 1/2 pound). I would probably just get 1 pound next time if I'm sharing with one other person Ahi tuna: 5/5. I really liked this and would def get it again Salmon: 3 or 4/5. This was just ok, maybe would get it again if I was really craving salmon but overall liked the tuna more

Yelp
After going to the Newport locations many times for the past couple of years, coming back to Pacific City was disappointing. This location is not as good, despite the sought-after beachfront views. And I used to come here often for the Bear Flag tacos. Most recently, I ordered the New England clam chowder with the bread bowl and thought the bread was incredibly dry and stale. This location is also noticeably dirtier (the outdoor glass panels are grimy), and the inside doesn't smell good (like stinky fish, instead of a refreshing ocean smell that seafood places give off). No restaurant bathrooms. Very casual spot inside the Pacific City food hall, which is doing worse every time I visit. I feel like Bear Flag is the only vendor that's still around since it first opened.

Yelp
Bear Flag is your quintessential casual neighborhood seafood spot but with its own unique sparkle From the seared ahi burrito to their Cioppino and happy hour tacos, you can expect delicious and quality seafood. I love to dine at their full service bar and soak in the stunning coastal view. Madison will take great care of you here. She's a star Your out of town guests will love this addition to your itinerary. Bon appetit!

Yelp
I've been eyeing this place for years but I finally got the chance to get around to it now!!! My girl and I shared the salmon poke with FREE tortilla chips (yes, free tastes better), and the grilled artichoke with a creamy aioli that knew what it was doing. That poke was Fresh AF. Like, "never touched the insides of a freezer" fresh. The texture was so tender and bouncy it practically flirted with me. It was well marinated but was missing a lil "umph." My only note would be to add a little lemon, that would've taken it from great to gourmet. The vibe was casual with a legit ocean view. Think surfers and hang tens. Perfect for a chill bite, a quick escape, and people watching from a slightly above elevated area. (Btw: men's hairstyles have gotten quite questionable as of late! What's up with the bouncy perms?) Would I come back? Absolutely. More than I can say for 99% of my first dates. Don't forget to get your parking validated at the front counter!

Yelp
Who doesn't love going to Pacific City? The views are gorgeous and they have patio seating with heaters all the time to fight the ocean breeze. So smart I was super craving the poke bowl. I got half and half with all the sauces. I love their chili oil crunch. Makes everything so flavorful. Also got the chips and guacamole! Yummy. Topped the chip off with the poke. Everyone recommends getting 1/4 to 1/2lb of the fresh poke and chips but I don't as craving a poke bowl. Nothing was disappointing. I did order at the counter and asked about drinks. They could have told us they were having happy hour until 6pm. We ordered a regular drink at the order but when we came back to the bar. Saw their drinks on the happy hour menu for $10 so we got a few rounds Sitting outside and enjoying the view was nice. Make sure to get your parking validated!

Yelp
Tucked away in the corner of Pacific City, There's a gem serving quality food, friendly staff, and views of the beach. It's perfect for date night or just a snack. Lines get pretty long, but it moves fast.

Yelp
Got the 1/2lb mixed (ahi tuna and salmon) poke bowl with half white rice, half salad, pickled carrot, cucumber, seaweed salad, and chili crunch! It was delicious!! A lottt of protein. Both the tuna and salmon were yummy but I think the salmon was a tad better. Got it Tommy style which is essentially like a spicy mayo. I really liked the pickled carrots! About$20-21 They give you a little slip to customize the bowl. Sat in the outdoor section which was pretty packed but we were able to find a spot!
google avatar

Yelp
I've visited a few location, this one is a bit sticky and skimpy on the serving. Usually they're pretty generous and fit the container but this here I noticed it wasn't to the top. The cashier only gave me one bag of chips, usually they give me a bag for each 1/2 lb. The salmon was fishier than usual and there was only one cashier during lunch hour. Overall not my favorite location but the closet to get my poke fix.
google avatar

Michelle T.

Yelp
The poke here is yummy!! I wish they mixed the sauce with all of the toppings but I got the salmon + ahi tuna combo for about $20. Personally loved the salmon more! For that price, I wish we could add more than 2/3 toppings for no additional charge.

Yelp
Complete rip off and horrible food!! Spect $32 on a dozen grilled shrimp, they did not de vein the shrimp and the shrimp were full of poop!! They forgot half of our order and the manager argued with us and brought us the receipt from the table next to us. We said keep it and have a nice night! What a complete dump, embarrassed I wasted $117 here down the toilet literally

Yelp
Wow....OMG Not even sure where to begin. - The location is basically in a food court with a common restroom. - The menu is very confusing and has no description of how anything is cooked or served. - The ordering procedure sucks. - The food is way overpriced - Service nonexistent and they expect a full tip. - The place is unkempt and dirty. I'm shocked they are still in business. I ordered a whahoo sandwich. Completely unseasoned and tasteless. 20 bucks for tiny piece of tasteless fish on a roll. Wife and daughter had poke bowls that weren't any better. I get better poke in the inner-city. Thats ridiculous. Two fish sandwiches and two poke bowls for almost 80 dollars. No drinks. . On top of that my wife's poke they forgot and had to go get it herself. THIS PLACE STRAIGHT OUT SUCKS ! Word of advice..... go somewhere else !
google avatar

Yelp
I visited BearFlag on a Saturday and ordered a Poke Bowl with just salmon. It was a regular size and came out to about $25. While I found the portion to be on the smaller side for the price, the quality of the salmon made up for it. The fish was incredibly fresh and flavorful--you could tell it didn't need much sauce because the salmon really spoke for itself. We opted for salad as the base and added a few toppings, which complemented the salmon perfectly. The location is fantastic. It's outdoors with an amazing view of the ocean, and you can literally walk across to enjoy the beach. It's a great spot to hang out with family, friends, or even pets. The atmosphere is casual yet beautiful, making it a wonderful place to relax. Just keep in mind that you'll be paying a premium for the poke, but considering the freshness and the overall experience, I'd say it's worth it.

Yelp
Beautiful view!! This location sits right on pch, parking is easy, there's a structure. We ordered a few items-the clam chowder was the biggest stand out. It was creamy, full of flavor and was perfect temperature especially sitting outside. Poke was good, their other location seems to have more flavor though, definitely could have been an off day. Guac was good, could use acid but it was a decent appetizer to split. It was a bit confusing with the wine ordering, we ordered at the front (where you order food) and they didn't tell us it would be ready and sitting at the bar so we kind of just stood around.

Yelp
I have loved Bear Flag since my cousins first introduced me to them in Newport Beach. This location in Huntington Beach is on PCH with their outside patio facing the beach. Totally got them beach views, but you're paying the view tax on your food. Order at the counter and seat yourself outside. The inside seating and bar area seemed to be reserved for those ordering at the bar. My boyfriend and I shared a New England Clam Chowder ($9.25/16oz), Ahi Poke ($21.95/lb), and a Large Seafood Plate ($18.95) which comes with 1/2lb fish which we opted for the Wahoo and 2 sides which we opted for the black beans and sauteed vegetables. The sizes remain consistent since they measure out their portions, but pricing has significantly increased since my last visit to a Bear Flag. The clam chowder was nice and chunky with a lot of clam and potatoes. The ahi poke comes with tortilla chips. The chips for the day were a bit salty for me, but the poke was still as good as always. The large seafood plate was a good portion but I found the wahoo to be on the dry side for my liking. I think Bear Flag makes a good snack, but I'll pass on getting an entrée here again next time. Would only come back if I was already in the area and craving clam chowder or ahi poke.

Yelp
Listen, just stop by and find out for yourself. Great view and food! There's a small bar and TV for sports. Great for alcoholics! They got watermelon radish!! How interesting right??? Anyways, you need to stop by when you visit Huntington Beach! :) At the end of the food court. Go in knowing you're paying for the view. Plenty of outdoor seating and a fire pit circle seating. They do parking validation. There's a paid parking lot or can find street parking further down near residential and walk over
google avatar

Ann Y.

Yelp
DISAPPOINTED LUNCH I haven't been here in years and was excited for some poke and clam chowder. Boy was I mad that I wasted my time and money because everything I got was meh. Poke tasted fresh but nothing spectacular. But they ruined it by serving it with THICK STALE CORN TORTILLA CHIPS! Why?! Their Hawaiian potatoes chips is too oily and salty too- I tried it. Clam chowder was just okay. Tasted like it had too much flour. The side sourdough bread was OLD and STALE. Threw most of it away. I would go elsewhere if you're wanting good poke or chowder.
google avatar

Jackie H.

Yelp
Love the outdoor seating view of the beach, food is always good ! We got the ahi poke and clam chowder.
google avatar

Lana T.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I come here about 2-3 times a month because it's just that good. We love their ahi and salmon poke, especially paired with our wine. The service is super quick, which I really appreciate. And the view when you sit outside is amazing (you're overlooking the water)! We love coming here and have never been disappointed!
google avatar

Kayle P.

Yelp
I've stopped by Bear Flag every so often when I'm going to the beach or ever near the OC area. I've only ever gotten the half/half pound of ahi and salmon poke with a bag of chips to share with one friend and it's so worth it. 10/10 The fish quality is always perfect and the perfect texture for raw fish. Most Poke place the fish is always mushy, but the quality of the fish at Bear Flag has always been consistent for me! I can't say much of service since it's a grab and go type of restaurant, but there is a bar inside and looks very packed and friendly! I normally grab the food and eat on the patio area, which is always clean as well. Servers/bussers are quick to keep the tables clean and sanitized.
google avatar

Randall M.

Yelp
Love this place. Fish is usually pretty fresh. I tried the swordfish for the second time but it's a bit gamy for my taste. Service is usually pretty decent considering the only real interaction is at the register. Great view of the beach and PCH. No complaints on the ambiance. Chill beach vibes.
google avatar

Kelley L.

Yelp
One of the best things about this Bear Flag Fish location is the view of the ocean from the outdoor patio area, along with a view of PCH. Bear Flag Fish is located at Pacific City, which, unlike most coastal downtown areas, has lots of parking - both in a lot and on adjacent streets. The location has a decent menu of offerings ranging from sushi to tacos to chowders. I ordered the yellowtail ceviche, salmon salad, and salmon and scallop sushi nigiri pieces. The fish is fresh and good quality. I was surprised at how decent the sushi pieces were. Service is friendly, and the food does not take too long to come out. The outdoor patio, again, is a highlight of Bear Flag Fish. Even with wintry fog in the morning, the views are still beautiful.
google avatar

Clara C.

Yelp
Get the fish burrito with white rice. It's delicious!! Poke is also good. If you order by the pound, it comes with chips. The outdoor seating is amazing with a view of the beach and beautiful sunset. Parking is free in P1 and P2. The underground lot is huge and easy to get lost in it!
google avatar

Warren C.

Yelp
Nice find at Pacific City. My kind of place - good seafood, raw options, and a full bar, all in one spot. Fast casual format, so read the menu and order at the register. If building a poke bowl, take a paper. Beers are picked up at the bar if you ordered at the register. All other food is delivered to the table of your choosing. Fast and friendly service. Plenty of condiments to choose from. Great view on the patio!
google avatar

Yelp
Updating food pics from our recent visit. Bear Flag Fish is a family tradition every time we come to HB. Absolutely love sharing rolls, and a main dish with my daughter. Their fish are so fresh! Recently tried their poke bowl, and Seabass plate. Wow, we really enjoyed the Seabass plate! Fresh. Tasty. Beach views. And healthy treat. What is there not to love ??
google avatar

Valerie T.

Yelp
Plenty of seating both inside and out. Freindly no nonsence service. I ordered the fish burrito with black beans and brown rice. Super delicious and healthy! Not too busy on a weeknight but at lunch it's very busy. The food is so fresh with raw fresh fish right in front of you while ordering for you to choose and pick out. This place is a must try. And believe me you'll be back again and again.

Yelp
I would eat Bear Flag's Fish tacos every week if I could! I've been to all their locations, but this one's my favorite. The staff is always so nice. The food and drinks are always so tasty, and so yummy looking. The best part though, the ocean view! Love it!!
google avatar

Catherine N.

Yelp
Hands down, one of my favorite restaurants. Fresh fish and an ocean view is so hard to beat. This was one of the best guacs I've had, I usually like making my own but why would I need to when Bear Flag exists. The poke, guac, and chips were perfect together. The portions were big and this was shared between two people. Bear Flag I am your biggest fan! Hands down, one of my favorite restaurants. Fresh fish and an ocean view is so hard to beat. Yelp
I love coming here in the spring/summer when its nice out because it's right across the street from the beach. There's plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy the beachy air and sun or just take it to go to eat on the sand. The fish is fresh and delicious. The clam chowder was also pretty good.
google avatar

Ryan N.

Yelp
I got 0.5 lb each of the tuna and salmon poke, which came with two trays of corn tortilla chips. The chips were cold and a little stale, making them a not so good side/carb for the poke. The fish quality was average overall, with the salmon being a bit fresher than the tuna. The sauces for the poke were very subtle and somewhat bland. Considering we spent about $30 for this portion, it was a disappointing experience. I'd come back for the nice patio view of HB and the vibes, but not for the poke.
google avatar

Trish V.

Yelp
This is one of my go to places for fresh poke. The view of the beach is always really nice too. I decided to try the Ceviche this time as well & I loveddd it. The service here is always kind of iffy for me because they're never really that friendly. But the food is good, so I keep coming back.

London H.

Yelp
I've been eating at bear flag since I was 2. I love the poke and chips. The seafood salads are also really good. Can't really go wrong with anything here. The fish always taste fresh.

Devynn B.

Yelp
i've only tried one thing and it's amazing everytime. line was sort of long but went by very quick. good service and amazing views
google avatar

Abbie N.

Yelp
I ordered the premium burrito with salmon poke. It was good and filling, I added some hot sauce to mine for a good kick. Some pieces of fish were fishy. My friend ordered the poke and noted there was a fishy-ness to it too. Staff was friendly and they validated my parking. However the quality of fish for what I paid for was ok. All this and a miso soup for $48. The miso soup was just tofu and green onions, nothing special.
google avatar

Kerri F.

Yelp
This is probably one of my favorite places in the world to have a pokey. I wake up craving bear flag on a regular basis. The pokey is always incredibly fresh and always incredibly perfectly tasty. Every location I've been to whether it's Newport Huntington or Newport Coast has been fantastic and the quality is superb among any other pokey place in Orange County. Their menu is delightful with such a wide variety of fish. Burritos tacos everything is amazing. You can't pick a bad item at Bear flag.
google avatar

AJ H.

Yelp
I've been a bear flag patron since they opened their original location where wild taco is now. I buy a large fish plate from their HB location 3-4x a week after equinox. The amount of fish i get is always a roulette wheel. For a while I would have to complain every time because I would get 4 slivers of fish, which I believe is their small fish plate. Then eventually they gave appropriate proportions. Today out of nowhere I got 5 extra slim pieces and nowhere near a half pound (as stated on their menu), so I complained and the manager said a large fish plate is 5 pieces. I asked how is a small 4 pieces and a large is 5? Shocking. Your poke, ceviche portions are 100% larger above each size. If you're going to have a small/large portion the disparity should be meaningful. Charge whatever you need to, it's not the money but a large should be a filling portion. I just asked for a refund and left the food. I'll never eat there again. If you cannot proportion your dishes properly without me having to go back to the counter every time then I'll go somewhere else.

Yelp
This spot has great views of the beach from their patio. Dogs weren't allowed inside but they were okay in the patio. We ordered inside and took our number with us outside. Both our pieces of fish tasted fresh and crispy. There were zero leftovers and watching the waves crash as we ate was a major bonus. Definitely a no frills fresh food spot on our way out we saw other people had ordered poke style bowls that gave us major food envy so I'll have to come back for that next time!
google avatar

Esther M.

Yelp
Nothing beats Uroko Poke in Socal. The poke was fresh but didn't like how the rice wasn't seasoned. And the watermelon rind was not flavored so just felt like I was eating sliced rind lol. The fish quality was good but I don't think it was worth the price and portion size. The ambiance is nice bc it's right in front of the HB pier. Parking is tough to find since it is right by the beach. Wouldn't come here for poke only.
google avatar

Dayna G.

Yelp
My sister calls this her happy place so I had to see it for myself! Came here on a Friday afternoon and there wasn't a wait which was nice! We ordered the custom poke bowls and I really liked how you can alter it to your liking. I got the salmon and it was so fresh, it literally melts in your mouth! There's seating inside but we decided to sit outside to enjoy the view. It was absolutely gorgeous! If you're looking for a great view and some amazing poke, check this place out!

Yelp
Ambiance - 5/5 - Perfectly captures the coastal vibe. Love that there's outdoor seating under a covered patio and a fireplace to enjoy the beach/ocean during any weather. It can be a bit cold/breezy some though. Services - 5/5 - Staff is cold in terms of personality. I thought it was just the first time I went but literally went back again the next day and same treatment. However, I didn't knock the score for that since they did their job just fine. Food - 5/5 - Got the poke, clam chowder, and chips & guacamole. Everything was chef's kiss. Poke was fresh and seasoned well. Clam chowder served really hot, perfectly balanced flavor, and not overly creamy...sadly, the staff said their was no bread at the time. Chips had a fresh crunch and heartiness that was perfect for dipping into the guacamole that wasn't overly salty nor was it overwhelmed with non-avocado ingredients (tomato, onion, etc.). It was so good we came here two days in a row. Overall, not sure how this spot is 3.5 stars. We can't wait to come back. Highly recommend. Enjoy!

Nikki N.

Yelp
This poke spot left me with mixed feelings. The tuna was fresh, and salmon really fishy, which is funny because its usually the other way around. I was told they have good tuna, and always get salmon because its a safe option, to my surprise it wasn't. The biggest disappointment, though, was the New England clam chowder. It was bland, mushy, and far too thick with some strange seasoning going on--definitely not what I was hoping for. On the bright side, the view is great, and their fresh chips are a nice touch, but that's about all the redeeming qualities. Had high hopes because many people have recommended this place. Could've been much better!

Yelp
A local friend recommended this place, I live in LA so I'm more familiar with the places up here, so having no idea, I deferred to a local. He swore that Bear Flag had the best poké around. Parked at Pacific City, the shopping center where it's located. Two hours free with validation but it gets pricey after that... $8 per hour. The shopping center is gorgeous, and the views across the street to the ocean are second to none. Entered the restaurant and it was cute, everything did look ultra-fresh and as one says, we eat with the eyes first, and the place was spotless, the fish looked fantastically fresh, and again, you can't beat the views. We were excited. Had to attract the attention of the young associate behind the counter, who was staring at her phone with great interest. She looked annoyed that we interrupted her. My friend asked a question - and granted, they have a soft voice - she looked more annoyed that she had to ask him to repeat himself, I finally reiterated the question. She showed us the poké menu - the check-box with paper type - and went back to her phone. We completed our selections, and had the audacity to interrupt her iPhone time with a third request, for her to take our orders. When we got the poké bowls, they were tasty, though probably no better than several others I've had (at half the price). The cocktails were nice, though the bar was slow getting them out to us. Bottom line, it's a visually appealing place with gorgeous views, insufferably entitled counter staff, decent poké, and expensive parking. While we enjoyed hanging out at Pacific City for a while taking in the views, I'm not sure that $45 for the meal and $32 for the parking is going to have us rushing back anytime soon to spend another $77 for a poké bowl and a margarita. Anyway, we'd hate to interrupt someone's quality TikTok time again.

Yelp
Had an early dinner with some work colleagues recently. Sushi rolls, ceviche, calamari appetizer, and drinks were all very good. Service was top notch as well. They have a great selection of ready made poke to go also! Would definitely return!!

Yelp
Your bartender rejected me (party of one) from sitting at the open seating bar when there was one seat available because a couple (two people) were waiting. Makes no sense sense whatsoever. Proceeding to order at the main line and placing my number on a table, service folks snatched my number and took it back. Had to ask the register for a new number. The operations at this location is subpar below even any standard order and sit restaurant should provide. Food was 6/10.

Yelp
I always visit this place when I come to Pacific City! I arrived around 6:30 pm, and it was very crowded, but my food was ready by the time I finished ordering. I got half a pound of ahi tuna with chips, and it was delicious! I also added the hot sauce available at the counter. My total was $11.85, and it was super filling. My friend got the spicy tuna roll and said it was okay but not worth $15.50.
google avatar

Jennifer K.

Yelp
I came here for the first time and ordered the poke with chips along with two bear flag fish tacos, one wahoo taco, and one albacore taco. Out of all the tacos the bear flag fish taco was definitely the best. The poke was not my favorite. However, the chips and guac were amazing. It is a little bit expensive to pay $11 for guacamole considering that the poke is only $12 but it was delicious.

Yelp
I have been coming here for years now! I don't think I have ever had a bad meal at this location! This is a staple in HB and one of the few places to get great food, drinks and a view all at a reasonable price. The staff here is so wonderful! This place is so welcoming and the staff is so friendly and attentive!! We are always greeted by the bartenders and even the cooks! I highly recommend the ceviche, the best clam chowder, the lemon Cajun shrimp and the burritos!

Yelp
Went here this past weekend and it's just meh. I love when a restaurant uses fresh ingredients, but fresh ingredients don't, alone, make great food. We ordered Poke and it was bland and expensive. Who charges $14/lb for sliced cucumbers with a light sprinkling of sesame seeds??? No salt. No sesame oil. No rice wine vinegar. Nada. Sliced cucumbers ran through a mandolin... All 3 of us struggled to add flavor to our bowls. It's not hard to season Hawaiian style poke. We make it at home regularly.

Yelp
I heard great things about bear flag, so I was excited to finally try it. We ordered cooked fish, clam chowder, poke and chips, and a roll. The sushi and poke were great! We could pass on the fish and chowder next time. We went on a weekend and it was pretty busy. We only waited about five minutes in line and found a table quickly. We'll be back and stick with the favorite items from now on :)
