"The brewery took its name from the town’s cryptid myth, and it serves up a variety of brew styles, such as blonde ales, hefeweizens, and maple amber ales, alongside fun seasonal and barrel-aged beers. The food menu is a mix of American-Texas-Mexican dishes, such as tacos, truffle fries, sandwiches, and burgers. There are indoor and outdoor dine-in services." - Nadia Chaudhury

We stopped here for a beer after a late lunch next door. There was a good crowd having fun and we enjoyed the relaxed, low-key atmosphere. The Bird’s Word Pecan Porter was delicious! We will come back when it’s warm enough to sit out on the large covered outside patio.

Great food, fun atmosphere with outdoor and indoor seating. Dogs are welcomed. Got the Laredo one, with the Brussels sprouts and stout. Would get it all again, 10/10.

Went in on a Tuesday evening, plenty of space and it's a restaurant as well. It was seat yourself, they came to us rather quickly and they have a lot of options and saw there was some gluten free and vegan on the menu for those who need it. The chips were nice and hot for chips and salsa but the beer was very good. I had the Laredo One burger and really enjoyed the bread they chose for the for the buns. Fluffy on the outside and slight crispy on the inside. As a porter and stout fan, the oatmeal porter was smooth and good but need to come back to try the one aged in a barrel that is 13%. Great service and atmosphere and definitely coming back again to try the other food and drinks! Update 3/22/25. Went back as I was traveling through but service was a little slow, I ordered the embellished nachos and the chicken was a little cold. Not sure what went wrong there but the Nashville hot chicken sandwich was really good. Expect to wait but overall did enjoy my visit

Google
Stellar brewery and burger sandwich restaurant located in Marble Falls. OK, gotta get this out here now yall. GET THE Brussels!!! Skip right past fries, go directly to Brussels. Phew, ok, a nice selection of house brews and wine. Nice atmosphere. Good service. Outside and inside seating. Hubby liked their IPAs and his Burger of the Month- The Lumberjack. I got the Laredo hamburger. Bring on the napkins!!! But man is it all good!

Google
Stopped in for a snack and a flight. Like the atmosphere here. It's rustic yet modern, industrial but classy. The staff was nice. Steven was an awesome waiter. They had a good selection of drafts, and their seasonal "Bird's Word" pecan lager was perfect for a cool December evening. Truffle fries were delicious. 🤌 LILLY! Your dance moves to Call me Maybe we're on point.

Google
Great burgers and option of sides (onion rings, salad, fries) to go with them. Hotdog and fries meal is more than enough for the lil kiddos. Start off with the Trio (guacamole, queso, & salsa) w/chips. And take care of your thirst with a cold Hefe beer or a line of their variety lemonades!

Google
Bear King is amazing! Between the food, customer service, and amazing beer selection, you can’t go wrong eating here. Whether I’m having lunch with the family or catching up on work during my lunch hour, this is the place to go! If you’re looking for a great beer, try the Cardiff, it’s so good! Cheers!

Lindsey Bunting

Google
Amazing food and great beers! All the food was delicious and the kids were happy too with gourmet hot dogs and lemonade. We bought the west coast and hazy IPAs to go and got a crowler of the barrel aged stout which is all amazing!

Daniel P.

Yelp
Food and service was great! The vibe was cool, the beer even better! My wife got the fish tacos and I got the Lubbock burger and it was pretty good. Chips and queso had quack at the bottom which was unexpected but awesome! Loved the dockside blonde and the their raspberry red ale! Overall, great experience!

Yelp
We stopped here for lunch on our way back from the lake. The brewery is big and a great aesthetic. They have a big parking lot. The patio is covered and a big area so all your friends and family will have space. The staff was very nice and attentive. We didn't try their beers, but they looked interesting and I've heard good things. We split the Farmer's Cut burger. I am a sucker for mushrooms, bacon, and truffle aoli. Since I'm one of those weird people, I appreciate the veggies (lettuce, tomatoes, onions) automatically coming on the side. The burger was cooked to perfection and it was a great flavor combo. The fries were crisp and had just the right amount of seasoning that I didn't even need to use ketchup. We will definitely be back next time we come to the lake!

Yelp
Driving thru the area and decided to stop for lunch. The outdoor seating was perfect for my dog and to enjoy the weather. The food was great and I had the Hefeweizen which tasted good. The fries were amazing and I had a chicken sandwich which was perfect. The service was kind of slow for being a quiet Friday afternoon.

April S.

Yelp
We popped in on the way back from Fredericksburg. You can tell it's new. The patio is great and we happily waited 10 minutes to get a seat. It was really nice albeit a little rainy but it was still pleasant sitting on the patio. They had lots of fans and tvs which was nice. We ordered chicken wings with Buffalo sauce and onion rings as well as a one of the draft beers. Our waiter was nice and checked on us frequently. We highly recommend if you in the area.

Yelp
When the line at the blue bonnet cafe is too long.... This is your other choice Sunday at 10:30 am. Amble space and a standard brewery vibe. Very clean bathrooms. Service was okay. We asked for a separate plate that never came as we split our breakfast. I made it through;) We split the sauce gravy biscuits. The gravy was good. Home fries are frozen out of the freezer. The side of bacon was good.

James B.

Yelp
Well, I didn't get food. Just grabbed some samples. Found 4 nice beers Monkey bridge is a good heff... I'd also recommend the milky stout or even the white stout. A tie for best beer is the pecan Porter. But think I'd stick with the milky stout. The dead reckoning is more like a whiskey or something. Service is definitely restaurant style. Not what I was thinking of a brewery. More like a restaurant ! I'll have to try food. But I'm not hungry this time.

Yelp
My family and I decided to do Snow Day at the Science Mill in Johnson City this past January, and while I was there I was speaking to one of the workers and she recommended Bear King Brewery. I spoke to my real boss, the wife and we decided to give it a try. I wish I could give the person that recommended this place a raise because this recommendation will go down as a family favorite. My daughter had the French toast casserole which we all tasted and it is phenomenal with the creamy custard and fresh fruits. We have all said this should be a permanent dessert on the menu. We had a flight of the beers and decided to take a few home they were so good. We always have to try wings wherever we go and we are usually pretty picky about our wings we like them to be crunchy and they were crunchy enough we would have like a bit crunchier but that is a preference thing not anything to do with how they are served. They are jammed packed with flavor and perfect amount of sauce not over and not under. My wife had the chicken and waffles and thoroughly enjoyed the entire meal. Chicken was nice and crunchy and juicy and the waffle was a liege waffle so delicious. I had the dip trio and the smothered loaded fries with brisket. I will say the beer queso was great and flavorful and so was the guac now the salsa in my humble opinion was too garlicy and just not what I would consider salsa. I am going to let the picture of the smothered fries speak for themselves the sauce and veggies are so nice and the fries stay crisp up against the yummy sauces. I can't recommend this place enough. Great find and worth the drive!!!

Yelp
Good beer, good food, and a great place to visit when in Marble Falls. My wife and I have been here twice over the past month. We stopped in to have beers and an app the first time. Service has been great, the staff is friendly and very attentive. The West Coast IPA is delicious, and they have a very nice selection of craft beers. First time in we tried the onion rings, really nice and crispy and a nice size serving. Paired great with the beers. On our second visit my wife had the fish tacos, she commented on how flavorful they were and that she would definitely order them again. We also ordered the truffle fries and a wedge salad. The fries were amazing, just the aroma alone had us hooked. The wedge salad, well, not that salads are exiting but this one didn't do anything for me. There's a presentation to a wedge that can make it "taste as good as it looks." Someone with very little imagination put it together, but once you cut it up and the ingredients are there it's a salad.... Overall, a great place to stop in and with plenty of inside and outside seating, lots of TVs and walking distance to downtown Marble Falls.

Vicki V.

Yelp
Enjoyed lunch on the patio. We shared The Trio and the Chopped Cheese sandwich. Everything was good. We loved the sandwich and the fries are outstanding.

Steve W.

Yelp
Inside this restaurant there is a decent amount of seating, but there is a lot more seating on the patio outside. However, during the summertime the hot sun really gets in your face on the patio in the evening. Before you order your food, make sure to check out the daily specials. They do have a great selection of home made beers on tap and they have many wine choices as well. I definitely recommend the Lubbock burger and you will need a lot of napkins to get you through it. The wings with the mango habanero sauce pair great with a Pilsner or something malty. All in all, the food and beer were all on point and the service was decent. Before you go, you may wish to pick up a T-shirt or six pack of their beer to go. When it comes time to settle up the bill, they'll bring around a handheld device for your credit card where the tip starts at 20% (or custom tip).

Yelp
My fiance and I stopped by on the way home from the lake on Friday. Nice inside and outside space and a good selection of different in house brewed beers and also local wines. I tried all 3 hazy ipas in a flight along with the raspberry ale. All were pretty solid but the raspberry surprisingly stood out as I expected to like one of the ipas going into it. My fiance had the barleywine and enjoyed it. We split the poutine as well. Its definitely a texas take on it as they have cheese curds on the menu but not on this, more so queso. I ended up really enjoying it and would eat it again. The people next to us got a nachos which was pretty big and also looked delicious.

Yelp
First time visiting. This restaurant is immaculately designed and spacious with both large indoor seating and outdoor. I could immediately recognize this establishment is well managed. Service was attentive with staff from the bar first greeted us and got us calibrated on the wide assortment of brews and introduced our wait person. Fresh start to this experience. Sadly, I did not try their burgers but promise will do so next visit. The reason is that I just had burgers the day before. I ordered the truffle fries, wedge salad, the jumbo shrimp tacos, and the pork belly tacos. Bear King delivered not only awesome presentation for each item but items were epically executed. Truffle fries were perfectly seasoned, thicker than average, and crispy. My favorite pork belly tacos were a nice blend of slaw with crispy cubes of pork belly. I would advise that the cubes be taken out of fryer sooner as they were overcooked which resulted in chewy nuggets of joy rather than burst of pork fat and tender meat. The cream sauce maybe chipotle was nice topping. Ordered with corn tortillas. The jumbo tacos were perfect with the sweetness of the jumbo shrimp, this was perfectly cooked and seasoned, along with all the taco trimmings were a hit. Lastly, the wedge salad was absolutely fresh lettuce that looked like it was grown next door. Lastly, tried the dead reckoning imperial. This was a great IPA. Our waiter was very new but very knowledgeable, attentive, and friendly to speak to. Thank you cooks and staff. Will be back. Again, I can see this place is well managed. Nice ambience on a hot day. And no flies. Each table had a battery powered fly deterrent.

Yelp
First time going to Marble Falls and trying this brewery. Went on Mother's Day Sunday and we only had to wait 10-15 min to get seated outside since we had our puppy with us. Their Birria taco was really good surprisingly given that they are a brewery. It does come in set of two so if you are super hungry, suggest you get something else on the side. We also got The Laredo One Burger. This burger was very big and flavorful. We tried the Trio appetizer and it was good. Wasn't anything to feel wow about but a nice little snack before food. Although our appetizer came after our dishes. Totally understand it was a busy day so not a big deal at all. Overall if you want bar food & some nice outdoor area that you can take your pup with, would recommend this spot.

Jenne S.

Yelp
Nice family friendly environment. There's an outdoor area where you can have your dog with you while you eat. It looks like they sometimes hold events too and offer board games for people to play at their tables while enjoying a nice cider. The onion rings were crispy with a lovely dip and we enjoyed the trio that came with guacamole, cheese, and salsa. I ordered the Farmers Cut with truffle fries, but really the plain fries were excellent on their own. The server checked on us regularly and everyone was friendly.

Sheldon T.

Yelp
Atmosphere is great handicap, accessible and great beer and food staff is friendly and helpful.

Patsy M.

Yelp
I've had guacamole tacos before and they are delicious but I should have known when it said avocado taco. The avocado was sliced, breaded then deep fat fried. Then the sauce was like a tartar sauce which would be good with fish tacos. It was so loaded that I could only eat one. Needless to say I was disappointed. My husband's grilled chicken was okay but nothing special. I think the food could be improved.

Mark W.

Yelp
Cool spot. All the food was very good. Beer selection offered a variety of choices to choose from for any taste profile. The patio was cool. Covered, yet open enough to allow a nice breeze. We will be back for sure.

Steffie S.

Yelp
A fun stop on our day trip. I love many of Bear King's beers, so I thought I'd check their brewery out. It's a Texas-sized place, that felt empty on a Wednesday afternoon. I can definitely imagine having a get-together here. The service was, unfortunately, lack luster/unenthusiastic. I'd like to come back when they have live music going on, and I'd love to tour the brewery itself. Loved trying a number of beers in a flight. Check it out and tell me what you think.

Andria H.

Yelp
I.P.A's yes please. Probably the best in this area (including Austin!). They have such a wide variety of great tasting beers and a hip cool location to drink them in. They are right next to The Bluebonnet Cafe and have plenty of parking. You can walk in and find a table and someone will be around to wait on you. You can also go up to the bar to try beers. They have $14 flights if you want to sample a few and a pretty darn good food menu. Think tacos, queso, burgers. Elevated bar food for sure. They also serve (canned) wine and have a draft cocktail for those crazy people who don't drink beer but still want to party

Lucy V.

Yelp
I had one of the freshest salads "the Champ" here and the dressing was amazing! What's really nice is that you can get a half portion with avocado! The consumé (beef broth?) that was served with the Birria Tacos was a special touch that I did not expect! There was a generous amount of chopped brisket, topped with jack cheese, onion and cilantro. The fries were crispy and tasty and the burger was done with all the salad toppings the way you'd expect it -- my only beef was that the patty was super dry and overdone. They have spacious outdoor seating in a covered patio with fans.

Ed E.

Yelp
Great service, and really great food! I'm a big Amber ale person, and theirs was amazing!

Susan G.

Yelp
Food so yummy. Love the selection of beers. Susan has been our waitress twice now and we love her. Excellent service! Will be back soon!

Jay K.

Yelp
Love the place. Need to get consistent on opening. Website 9. Google 10. Message 11.

Yelp
We were in town for vacation and wanted to find a spot that was dog friendly. I sat down at a corner table outside while my husband went inside to let them know we were dining. A girl comes out and points to 3 tables and said any of these 3. I got up and moved. We were the only ones on the patio at the time. Not long after, someone else comes with their dog, and they sat right where I originally sat, and they weren't told to move. Weird but moving on. My husband ordered a burger, and I ordered a pulled pork sandwich. I ate half of mine. I wasn't a huge fan of it. He gave his a shot as well, but it was drenched in salt. He asked, "Am I overreacting, or is this really salty?" I tried a tiny piece, and it was super salty. He felt bad about asking if they could remake the burger. They did, and it was much better. I commend them for correcting it. However, I'm not sure how it came to pass to begin with. I'm sure the drinks are more satisfying but the food was a miss for us.

Shawn C.

Yelp
The food was good. My chicken fajita tacos were filling, the wife's brisket sandwich was pretty good and the fries were good and crisp. My beer taster flight had 4 out of 5 pours I found tasty, then ordered one as a pint. The thing that caused me to rate just 4 stars is the number of dogs in the seating area that's mostly open air but covered. My allergies didn't kick in thankfully. Service? It was chaotic. Good luck with that element of your visit. The food menu doesn't have a beer menu to accompany it. So I took a picture of the display showing the beer names behind the tap line.

Marshal G.

Yelp
Used Favor to deliver two burgers, one legendary and one classic. The classic was over cooked but eatable, love the pickles. But the legendary burger had a piece of plastic in it. A little blue piece of plastic, it didn't hurt my wife but she did continue to eat the burger. The onion rings were still very crispy as were the fries. Decent burgers but just a bit overdone and besides the plastic filler, we'll probably eat here again. Will definitely visit the restaurant next time.

Cyndy B.

Yelp
The food and service were both terrific at this place. We decided to sample several things (Brussels sprouts, Potene fries, burgers, and wedge salad) and they were wonderful. However, if you don't care for much salt, ask them to leave it off and add your own. They sprinkle crunchy Kosher salt on top of everything and our bites often contained too much. I love salt, but I'm actually saying that there's was too much! We enjoyed the venue, too, and we will definitely return.

Kimberly M.

Yelp
The service was friendly but the "beef" fajitas were horrible! Sent them back and they were still not eatable--- fatty, grisly, stringy, no real meat. It was such a bad experience I may never eat fajitas again.

Robert B.

Yelp
A great find in Marvel falls. Fantastic food and atmosphere. My daughter and I make a special trip every month or so to enjoy the food. (try the Texas budine)

J. H.

Yelp
The service was absolutely terrible we sat for 21 minutes before getting up and asking the hostess for someone to serve us. After we were waited on the roast beef sandwich was not sliced very well very hard to eat,

Senya H.

Yelp
The food is pretty decent here, I love their truffle fries! We used to go here a lot when they had this Hawaiian style burger, it had a pineapple bacon jam dressing on it, but they took it off! We are really sad about that. The service is pretty good, it does get challenging when it is super busy. There is a place to sit outside under a covered patio, you can watch TV or look out towards main street. The inside also has TV's you can drink your beer, eat your burger and watch the game. Other than the burger they took off, the Farmer's Cut is my favorite with a side of truffle fries.

Mary Catherine F.

Yelp
Went for brunch, not a large menu but was good. Had the full monte, the pork belly is VERY peppery but it does pair well with French toast and strawberry habanero sauce. Would recommend for a quick bite. Potatoes were a must!

Emily M.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I came here over the weekend and really enjoyed it. It was pretty full when we got there, but there was still space to sit and enjoy some brews and food. There were servers coming around every so often to take care of the tables, or you could go to the bar top. Since this is a brewery the beers are really what stand out. We got a flight to try a few different options, and some individual drafts. They have a style of beer for everyone! I loved the blonde The food is ok, neither of us were blown away by it. But still enjoyed. Would love to come back for more drinks when we're in the area!

Amanda B.

Yelp
Cute place! Love that they make their own beer! They have wine and frose for anyone that isn't a beer drinker.

Fran B.

Yelp
Good craft beer. Good food. Indoor and outdoor space. Pets are allowed on the outside patio. Staff is very nice. Very casual.

Linda B.

Yelp
The food was so good, and came out quickly. The restaurant is clean, spacious, and the staff is very friendly.

Chris C.

Yelp
I enjoyed the atmosphere on the patio and I thought the food was good, not great (except for the fries - some of the best I've had). I would go again to try something different, but $80 for lunch is a big ask for 3 burgers, fries and 2 iced teas. One of the burgers was just a patty with cheese for my 7 yr old...

Mochi M.

Yelp
if i could give no stars i would. Environment is strange and sterile like a sad hospital. Staff stands around and talks loudly, clearly makes fun of customers. Food is fine. Music is way too loud, no not the live music. the ambient music that they play for the place. its weird especially when its empty. anyways feel free to stop by if you want little to no service besides awkward small talk from behind a screen and just ok food and beer. personally id rather bathe in a pool of hydrogen peroxide than come back here. pecan st in johnson city does it way better. patio with animals allowed, music, friendly and great beer.

Anna G.

Yelp
Food was basic. Service was awful. We ordered drinks at the bar and paid and the guy walked away. My biggest takeaway was all the flies. They were all over us inside. Photos show them sitting on the windowsills by our table.

Kay D.

Yelp
I visited for brunch on a Saturday with husband . We were delighted by the vibe of the space ,very open and bright. The service was above average, and the food hit the spot !

Rebecca L.

Yelp
Great. So glad we came. Rose freeze was beyond awesome, fave of 2023 so far! Fresh food with good flavor and quick delivery. Little disjointed on the service side but I think they just changed menu and we went kinda late.

Jonell K.

Yelp
Food has been terrific both times we've been there. 1st time, service was slow and the waiter had the personality of a rock. 2nd visit, our waitress was very friendly and seemed to like her job - unlikthe previous waiter. We will be going back.

Tiffany S.

Yelp
We love eating here! Food is delicious! Great kids menu as well and they just added sandwiches to their full menu! Service is great- my favorite waiter is Fernando! Izzy is the sweetest and keeps the place looking clean! The patio is awesome! We can take our French bulldog and wild 2 YO! They have big overhead fans, cornhole and tvs outdoors. The inside is fun too! Lots of board games tor the kids to play! This is our "go to" each weekend. Glad we have this place in MF!

LizzieJo H.

Yelp
First time trying this restaurant/brewing company. I was impressed with everything, from the food to beer, to service, to wait time. I decided on a flight, fries, and shrimp tacos. It was hard to decide between that and the delicious sounding burgers! BearKing is comfortable and nicely appointed, with plenty of tables and a wonderful outside dining area. I will definitely be back, and soon I hope!

Anna R.

Yelp
While passing through Marble Falls, we decided to stop here for a late lunch. I'm glad we did! The food was great. I didn't have the highest expectations just being a brewery, but I loved the tacos! I tried a few beers and a flight too. This is a must when visiting Bear King! There is outdoor and indoor seating. The weather was beautiful so we chose outside. Comfortable picnic style seating. Plenty of parking (has its own parking lot).

Greg B.

Yelp
Great food, great beer, great service. Our go to spot in Marble Falls with or without kids. One thing is perplexing, though. My wife ordered a salad and chose to add the "fajita chicken" (The other option is "poached shrimp). The salad arrived with plain chicken- no seasoning whatsoever. When we asked the waitress she was confused and told us she had no idea. When we pressed her she asked us if we wanted her to ask the manager. "Sure", we replied. He was sitting at the bar with his head buried in his papers and didn't even look up when she spoke to him. She returned and said, "The manager told me the fajita chicken is just chicken without the fajita seasoning." I'm sorry- what?! That was it. That was his explanation. We all kind of stared at each other with our mouths hanging open but moved on and finished our lunch. This seems to me like a pretty easy fix. Either offer the chicken with fajita seasoning or don't call it fajita chicken. And don't let your servers parrot their manager's nonsense to customers. That's not fair. Tell him to grow a pair and come talk to us. (Yknow, the ones contributing to his paycheck?) I'm sure you don't want your customers pounding their heads on the table. That's not the look you're going for. But I love your beer though!

Baylie G.

Yelp
Super awesome food and a really fun atmosphere! We were able to get seats right away in the outdoor area, and we were greeted by our waiter not much later after that. The sweet tea is really good, and we started with some of the best cheese curds I've ever had. We ordered the full size wedge salad to share, as well as two burgers with fries, the Legendary One and the Lubbock. They came out super fast despite them being pretty busy both inside and outside, and they were some of the prettiest burgers I've ever seen, and even better to taste. While we didn't get any beer this time, trust that we'll be back to try some beer and more delicious burgers!

Susan M.

Yelp
Just had the best breakfast at Bear King! Very big servings and all of us were beyond satisfied with our meals. The vibe is cool with indoor and outdoor seating areas. They also had an area with a small stage for local musicians, I assume. I plan to try lunch on my next trip to Marble Falls!

Tina T.

Yelp
We picked up pies from our favorite pie place across the street (at Bluebonnet Cafe) and decided to give this place a try because we've always been curious. My shrimp tacos had great big pieces of shrimp and I love the fact that you can pick between corn vs. flour tortillas, because I'm always disappointed when fish and shrimp tacos are served on flour. It should be LAW that seafood tacos are served on corn tortillas people!!! I digress. The shrimp tacos are where we lost a star unfortunately... Mostly because of the sauce. The consistency of it was more like a mayonnaise, so it was very off- putting. I also feel that the sauce needed to be packed with flavor (since the tacos alone weren't) and it needed a lighter (sauce-like) consistency. I would try it again, if they rethink the sauce. Now, the burger was the rock star of the show! The patty had a great grilled, smokey fresh beef flavor. So, I kept stealing bites from my husband's plate because I was quite jealous of his order. We also ordered truffle fries and chips and queso as appetizers and they were both yummy! Sorry, no pics for those, but they're both worth ordering. As far as the beer is concerned, I'm not sure I'm really one to ask, because I'm a Dos Equis with lime and salt kinda girl... If you like strong (put hair on your chest) type o' beers, then you'll definitely like their selection.

Mark C.

Yelp
Was headed back home using Waze and it took us through beautiful Marble Falls. We stopped at this beautiful brewing company and took a chance. We were so glad we did. This place is amazing to look at and the food matches! Our server was so nice and knowledgeable on their beers and food. She helped us pick out a flight of beers and our food. First off, no matter what you order, you need to include the truffle fries ! They are fantastic! We also had the bbq wings and the plain burger. Wings were perfectly cooked and tasty. The bbq sauce was light and sweet. The burger was BIG! Hot and tasty... my flight of beers was great (Pablo Bunyon) was my fave... their beer and food menu is great, I hope to pas thru here again to try their other items...
