The Best Restaurants in Sacramento, Roseville, and Elk Grove | Eater SF

"There’s something comforting about shopping center barbecue, especially in Sacramento, which is where some of the best comfort food can be found across different cuisines. Bear West, which shares space with an electronic store and a halal shop on Watt Avenue in North Highlands, has some of the most reliable barbecue in town; their classic menu keep things simple with three- and four-way meals with a selection of sides (the macaroni and cheese is non-negotiable, as are the candied yams cut daily by hand), as well as rib platters and link sandwiches. Their popularity and dedication to the low, slow art of barbecue means they rarely end a day with inventory, so it really is imperative to seize the moment where Bear West is concerned." - Tamerra Griffin

I’ve been to this place twice so far and this is probably the best soul food place I’ve been to EVER. Hot links and tri tip were nice and flavorful. I’m very picky when it comes to mac n cheese, but I was genuinely impressed and it’s definitely my go-to now if I get any extra sides. I’ve been to a lot of restaurants where they make their collard greens WAY too salty but these were perfect. Yams were sweet and delicious. I’m not a big cornbread person but this place made it pretty good. Banana pudding is pretty solid too if you’re craving a sweet tooth right after. Would 💯% recommend this place to friends and family.

This has to be the best BBQ that I’ve had since coming to Sacramento 6years ago. The ribs are not skimpy at all meaty and flavorful. The brisket is full of flavor and melt in your mouth tender. This place is a little out of the way for my family but it’s worth the trip. This is a go to place for my family for BBQ. They also have delicious desserts. I had the 7up pound cake and my wife had the German chocolate cake, delicious.

If you like southern style St Louis BBQ you are going to love this place! Doesn't matter what you order, everything tastes great. Today I ordered the three way dinner. 3 meats and two sides plate. I wanted the half rack of ribs and the lady at the register recommended the three way plate as a good way to save money as well as get two sides. I did sample the side that they call cabbage which is sauteed cabbage and chopped mild link and it was really good. The next time I go I'll probably get that as a side instead of the coleslaw. Although coleslaw is always my favorite with barbecue ribs. The beans are to die for good. The atmosphere feels like New Orleans and the people are super friendly and helpful. There are a few tables, so don't go during the busy times if you plan on eating in. I was there about 5:00 today and it was starting to fill up. No table service but it doesn't matter. Next time you want good barbecue make sure you check out Bear West BBQ and Soul Food in North Highlands on Watt at Karl. You won't be disappointed 👍🏼👍🏼

Google
What an absolutely surprising Gem of Soul Food located in one of the most stressed out parts of town. They tend to make single batches of their food, so it pays to get there before they run out. We tried the pepper chicken, Mac and cheese, and coleslaw. Everything was amazing.

Google
So good! We got 2 4-ways and 1 3-way and all 5 of us were satisfied and full! Even had to grab some desert after we finished. Banana Pudding was perfection! Will definitely return! Had chicken, ribs, tritip, pulled pork, hot links, Cabbage, beans, Mac, yams and potato salad! All delicious!

Today was the first time I’ve ever been there. I saw the good reviews so I drove extra far to try this place out. Pros: - Hard working people. I see their hard work. - Price was not too bad Cons: - The place is tightly narrow and not in a good area. - They forgot about me… yeah… they forgot about me and my order so I waited 2.5 hours outside in my car until they had time to talk to me. The place was so packed and busy so I had to wait in the car. - The ribs and “hotlinks” was mediocre. Pretty much the same as store-bought Walmart ribs and hotdogs. Not kidding. I noticed they served me the same ones. - The shrimp and grits were just microwaved hotdogs and 3 shrimps. I do feel bad for giving this place a bad review but dam man, I really had high hopes for this place and was shot down immediately.

This was my first time trying this BBq spot and it did not disappoint. You will not regret coming here. My son that’s 6 is a picky eater and he said he wants to come everyday. The prices are reasonable for the amount of food you get. The meats are tender, the baked beans are amazing, the potato salad had so much flavor. The meats had that smoke, savory taste. Oh! Let me not forget about the BBQ sauce, it’s definitely home made:

Wifey wanted to try out this bbq spot we saw on Instagram before an event. We got there like and hour before closing. They were pretty packed and had a lot of to go orders. Unfortunately, they ran out of a lot of stuff by the time we got to order but they had good recommendations for other items. Everything we had was on point! I don't really even eat BBQ like that unless it's from home. Got the links, green beans and potato salad. All seasoned well and had great flavors. You usually do get that when people do soul food in bulk. I'll definitely return to try the Mac and cheese and some other sides they were out of. I'd definitely recommend.

Yelp
Great fusion of California/Southern bbq. we tried the Tri-tip, great smoke, texture and bark, lean with enough rendered fat, delicious. Spare Ribs and Chicken, both tender, pull off the bone texture, with just the right tug, great smoke flavor. Hot-links just right spiciness. For the sides the potato salad was excellent, we also tried the slaw, nice crisp texture. also highly recommend are the collard greens and Mac n Cheese. definitely will be coming back when in the Sacramento area!

Yelp
I didn't think good BBQ existed this far from the south but this place proves that it does!! April helped us out with ordering and was so nice! Amaya I think her name was, helped us with whatever we needed. They all make you feel at home. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Also the food was DELICIOUS. Our favorite were the ribs and green beans! Thank you everyone at Bear West we will definitely be back!

Yelp
This is the taste I was looking for. We were deciding between burgers and fries or barbecue and soul food. I went with the BBQ of course, gladly. This is the first time I've ever been here, and it won't be the last. We can smell it from the parking lot, all the way up to the door as we walked in. We were greeted with happy faces and wonderful smiles from customers and employees. Marlon was the gentleman that took our order, and it was a pleasant interaction. He was friendly and very informative about the food choices and what went with the meals. I ended up getting 2 different orders of the 3 meat plates. Tri-tip, spicy ribs and barbecue chicken, with collard greens and yams and cornbread. The other plate was double tri-tip and mild ribs, BBQ baked beans, cornbread, and some of the best Mac'n'cheese I've had in a long time. Peach cobblers and banana pudding were the choice desserts. The food is full of lots of flavor, tender meats, amazing smells and visually the portions are beyond mediocre. After ordering, I was met with another beautiful smile from Alaysa. She had my order ready to go in no time at all. All condiments and utensils were provided. Ha, my driving made the beans mix with the mac, my bad. Absolutely, the best Bang for my buck. Now, I am currently sitting comfortably on my couch in a food coma, watching a movie. Stomach is full and I have some for lunch tomorrow. Thank you, Bear West BBQ and Soul Food for everything. Great employees. I will be back soon.

Yelp
Drove up and first impressions was trashy place, could tell been some time since last cleaning. Upon entering seeing a quant dinner with not many tables but the place seems nice. I got a rwo way with a peach cobbler. The meets were really good with a light smoke but tasted/notice salt. The macaroni and cheese was a bit strange tasting, the top was better. Potatoe salad was sub par, I'm thinking from a tub pre made, mostly mush. Momma's peach Cobbler was for one thing was old. Peaches were slimy and mushy and cake damp. They need to make smaller batches and research recipes.

Yelp
OK folks I'm back with another review of Bear West barbecue in Sacramento I'm always amazed on how good this barbecue really is I live in San Francisco and I always have to eat at this restaurant no matter what the folks there are so friendly. The barbecue is off the hook. Just be careful with the hot links cause if you ask for hot expect hot, but they're so good also I keep making the mistake of coming up here on a Monday and I keep forgetting their clothes on Mondays and Tuesdays so don't come on Mondays and Tuesdays but do come out here and check out the barbecue cause it is good. See you next time.

Yelp
Small restaurant with about 5 tables to eat inside. The place it is located at is a bit sketchy so I would go there during the day. The ribs were delicious and the meat fell off the bone. I was looking forward to the tri-tip but it was on the drier side so that was a bit of a disappointment. The Mac n cheese was nice and cheesy. You also get a side of corn bed which was tasty as well. Service was quick for ordering to go.

Yelp
My goodness!! Why did it take me so long to check out Bear West BBQ?! I know this much when I tell you when I arrived I knew it was going to be good, because it was a line and busy at 4:30 My friend and I ended up ordering the 3 meat dinner. I got chicken, tri tip and hot links and my 2 sides were Mac & cheese, yams and I ordered an extra side of baked beans. My friend got 2 orders of ribs and chicken and her sides were mac & cheese, baked beans and an extra side of mac & cheese. A little over $80 but it worth every penny. The portions are very generous. The meat is tender and flavorful I really didn't even need the bbq sauce which they offer mild and spicy. My hot links wasn't no joke that thang was hot and I eat hot links like it's nothing yet it was so delicious! The yams and mac were cooked to absolute perfection and I don't like everyone's yams because many places like to use yams in a can, not here they do it right! The service was great the nice lady who took my order came around to everyone's table to make sure we were good and enjoying our meals. The inside seating area is very small and limited there is no outdoor seating here so we were very luck to have the last table when we arrived. I highly recommend this place for bbq. There are only very few bbq spots in the Sacramento area this is actually good and this is definitely one of them hands down.

Yelp
I wish Yelp would give you the option to rate a business 6 stars because this is one of the very few small mom-and-pop businesses that absolutely hands down knows what they're doing. And in my honest opinion, Sacramento seriously lacks when it comes to barbecue food. This takes me on a trip to the North Highlands neighborhood of Sacramento where I had the opportunity to try out "Bear West BBQ and Soul Food". Located directly on Watt Ave. and relatively close to McClellan Park, this business is roughly 2 miles north of I-80. Since this large strip mall is accompanied by other businesses (tire shop, church, gym), parking was relatively easy to find. Before I go any further, they are closed on Monday and Tuesday but open on Wednesday from 4-8pm, Thursday/Friday from 11am-8pm, Saturday from 12-8pm, and Sunday from 12-7pm. Since I had a day off of work, I decided to come here during the afternoon of Friday 6/13/2025 at around 1:30pm. As soon as I parked my vehicle and proceeded the main entrance, I already got a whiff of that aroma of some amazing BBQ food. The exterior of the building is colorful that showcases their business name. Keep in mind that there is no exterior seating. Once inside, you will notice that the size of this business is relatively small with seating that can fit no more than a dozen guests. So keep that in mind. There is also a ton of memorobilia and signs that showcase the deep south, mainly New Orleans as you will see signs of Bourbon Street and the French Quarter. It definitely has that hole-in-the-wall vibe as I could already sense that this place was going to be legit amazing. As for the menu goes, this place is as good as it gets. They offer their trademark St. Louis ribs, pulled pork, hot links, tri-tip, and BBQ chicken. Their signature sides are mac & cheese, baked beans, mixed greens, homemade cornbread, candied yams, green beans, potato salad, and grits. Finally, they offer banana pudding and pound cake as their signature desserts. Since I came specifically for lunch, I went with their "Rib Lunch" (at the amazingly good price for $13). This included two pieces of their ribs while I chose mac & cheese as my side and this included a piece of their homemade cornbread. Since I wanted an additional side, I ended up ordering green beans (for an additional $4). After making the 15-minute drive back home, I opened up the packaging and was stunned to see (and smell) how amazing this entire platter of food was. Let me tell you about the ribs; O-M-G the meat literally fell off the bone and was tender as could be. And when dipped in their signature BBQ sauce (which was sweet & tangy), it took the flavor on a whole other level. Truth be told, I seriously have not eaten ribs like this in California, let alone the west coast. This is way more of how they serve ribs in states like Louisiana, Missouri, and Georgia. Now onto the green beans; this was straight outta your mama's house as these were sauteed in amazing juices while the small amounts of smoked turkey & potatoes made every single bite very savory. And the mac & cheese? Let's just say that the crusted cheese with the soft macaroni really shows how their baking method was also over the top delicious. And finally, the cornbread was huge; sweet, buttery, and moist on every level. I rarely praise a small business as much as I do this one. The stellar service (employees WERE busy & swamped with customers) but they got everyone's food out in a timely manner. If you do get the chance of dining here, I highly encourage it as it adds to the experience. The food itself is a 10/10 as everything I consumed was absolutely on point. Prices are also very reasonable as you can see how much food you get for under $20. Therefore, I plan on frequenting this small business in many future visits. "Bear West BBQ and Soul Food", you made Donovan H. a happy customer. My rating, a unanimous five stars. Great job to the employes, staff, and management for a job well done.

Yelp
I ordered a combination of meats that included St. Louis ribs, pulled pork, dark chicken meat, and tri-tip. For sides, I chose baked beans with ground beef and collard greens. The meal also came with a piece of cornbread and two BBQ sauces, one mild and one spicy. The chicken thigh was the highlight of the meal. It was juicy, flavorful, and easily the best item I tried. The pulled pork was slightly above average and just a bit better than the collard greens. Unfortunately, the tri-tip was overcooked and chewy, which made it quite disappointing. The ribs were also a letdown. They were dry, tough, and didn't fall off the bone, which suggests they may have been taken off the heat too early. The collard greens were decent but lacked the smoky BBQ flavor I was hoping for. They mostly tasted like greens that had been soaked in meat juices. The baked beans were overly sweet and not very enjoyable. I would have preferred tri-tip as the meat component instead of ground beef. On a more positive note, the cornbread was solid and enjoyable. Service was quick and efficient. I received my food within five minutes of placing the order, which was impressive.

Yelp
My first time here and the food was amazing. However, the wait time and experience could have been better. I want to emphasize the food was absolutely top-tier delicious I will return and I highly recommend. I tried their banana pudding and peach cobbler. Sure, they made that in heaven. I tried their barbecue chicken and hot links, mac & cheese, greens, baked beans and potato salad with corn cornbread. My favorite side dishes was the baked beans and potato salad. Mind you everything was so good but those are my favorites. The barbecue chicken and hot link definitely 10 out of 10. Inside is very small and the wait times can be long . I checked this place out since my sister was raving about it.... The gentleman working at the counter was super friendly and welcoming, greeted us with smiles , however, when it came to waiting for our food, there were some females that were unkind to each other while working together, which made the experience offputting. I guess they had a disagreement about orders, etc., and there was clearly tension. There was an older lady in the younger girl who were going back-and-forth, which was extremely unprofessional. I guess they were overwhelmed by how busy they were.... It made me and my family as customers feel like we were inconveniencing them. My sister said that that's not the experience she got the day before, but it was definitely offputting like I mentioned . Hopefully the service improves with those two females next time I visit because I'm absolutely going to be back . This is the best barbecue in Sacramento hands-down !!!

Yelp
Stopped by for lunch. I had been meaning to check this place out for a while, but to be honest, their prices online seemed a little steep. That said, I am really glad I finally made it in. I ordered the $13 BBQ ribs lunch with spicy BBQ sauce, cornbread, and mac and cheese. It looked like a good value, and I was right. The inside is quaint and cozy, and it really captures that Southern vibe with tons of New Orleans and Bourbon Street decor. I loved the atmosphere. I chose takeout, and the man at the front was very friendly. The staff had my order ready and packed neatly in under two minutes. The mac and cheese was, as the man at the front told me when I asked for a recommendation, very cheesy and flavorful. I loved that they used shell pasta. I like letting some BBQ sauce mix into the mac, and this sauce was incredible. You can tell it is homemade, with the perfect balance of sweet and savory, plus just the right amount of heat from the jalapeños. I do not know if I can ever go back to Stubb's or grocery store BBQ sauce again. This was the real deal. The cornbread was moist, tender, and had a subtle corn flavor. It had just the right amount of sweetness, not too much like a dessert, and the texture had a great balance between spongy and crumbly. So, 2 for 2 on the mac and cheese and corbread. Now for the star of the meal. Two ribs, covered in that same amazing BBQ sauce I already mentioned. They were perfectly seasoned and had a natural smoky flavor that you cannot replicate without the proper equipment. I asked for the sauce on top, though they do offer it on the side. Each bite was flavorful, spicy, and messy in the best way. I cleaned that whole plate in under ten minutes. I am not a BBQ expert, and I rarely want to spend money on BBQ in Sacramento, because frankly, this is not the South, and I have a smoker at home. But this place opened my eyes to what really good BBQ can be. I appreciated that nothing was over-salted or drowned in seasoning. Every element on the plate was balanced and complemented the others well. Despite my concerns about the price, it turned out to be a great value. I left feeling full and satisfied. Really great spot. I want to come back and try more soon.

Yelp
3.5 stars. I'm still on the hunt for the best BBQ in Sacramento. Ordered off DoorDash. We got the two way just to try it out. The RIBS are a must! Meat were moist and smoked. Mac and cheese and potato egg salad were pretty good. Cornbread was dry and overcooked. The BBQ sauce was sweet and spicy. Wish it was more tangy. Peach cobbler wasnt too bad either. Would definitely order again. Wish we had more options on DD to create our own combo and also weren't able to get pull pork. Interested trying out their greens, baked beans and banana pudding. I would 100% order a slab of their ribs again. Solid BBQ spot to put in rotation!

Yelp
Came to Sactown for a job. Looking for some Bbq and stumbled upon Bear West Bbq. The word "soul food" in the name got me. Had the 2 meat (ribs and tri tip) tender and flavorful. They offer 2 bbq sauces, mild and spicy. I preferred the mild. 2 sides ( Mac n cheese and cabbage). Not over cheesy or buttery, cabbage had slices of sausage. Heavy pepper flavor. There's also a nice dessert selection. The two that caught my eye, peach cobbler and banana pudding cup. The lady recommended peach cobbler. I liked the cobbler but it was overly sweet, imo. I think if they used fresh peach's ( instead of canned which are very sweet to begin with) it would offset the sweetness. Over all, solid Bbq. If and when I return to area, definitely going back.

Yelp
It's by accident but as per my earlier review we are trying the restaurant. It's a small shop with four tables and a long slow Sunday lunch line. The menu choices let you order platters and al a carte your way so you can get what you want. The ribs and chicken are very good. The tri-tip is overcooked. The green beans and beans are fair. They post no dogs yet a customer came in with one and nothing was done about it. What's with CA and dogs in restaurants? It's a health hazard.

Yelp
Came here for Southern University founders day luncheon. I ordered 4 St. Louis ribs and 2 sides with a link. I had Mac and cheese and yams with peach cobbler. Everything was good. I loved loved the cornbread and the bbq sauce. Good service a bit slow but please give grace. The restaurant is also a bit small indoors and seating can be limited.

Yelp
This is a very good bbq joint and we don't have to travel Downtown to get good bbq! My husband picked up our order that I phoned in recently (our first time trying their fare) and when he came home and we opened up those familiar clamshell to go boxes, our eyes lit up with great looking barbecue! The portions were great and the food was delicious! We ordered cornbread, potato salad, ribs and tri tip and it was very good! The prices were very fair as well and their bbq sauce is great, too!

Yelp
Came in on 4th of July & wasn't impressed I had seen suchhhh good reviews and had high hopes but was definitely let down! The banana pudding was pretty good though! For the price & quality it definitely wasn't worth it. The older lady helped me at the front and I switched from plates to the family meal - told her let me double check with my daughter since there was more food for sides and when I came back to order she already had the meats ready & had an attitude and didn't wanna change to another meat when I didn't even confirm or pay then took 30 mins from the time I had ordered for sides to be ready, the meat was just sitting waiting- no heat lamps or anything. By the time I got the food the meat was cold and sides were hot but too much cheese - it was overly greasy and we trashed a whole side of it because of how much the grease was separating from the Mac itself. The beans were good though & had a nice sweet flavor... wouldn't waste money here again

Yelp
This is a must-try spot!! The tri-trip, ribs, original BBQ sauce, and mac and cheese were our favorites! The staff was friendly!

Yelp
I had met my wife at this restaurant for lunch. She ordered the four rib combo with link, Mac and cheese and yams. She told me the customer service was wonderful. The ribs were tender, Mac and cheese was. good and the yams were ok. The ambiance was customer friendly.

Yelp
My first time here but a long time BBQ fan. And it has been hard to find good BBQ in Sac Town. I had read about Bear BBQ when I was out of town for an extended period. I then forgot about it until yesterday. My goodness, what a mistake. The previous reviews prepared me for the crowd (which wasn't bad this Sunday afternoon) and the lack of tables. Turns out, there are more tables outside. The plus is the drifting BBQ smoke wets the appetite. The minus is Watt Ave. is right there next to you. Still, not a bad option on a pleasant day. Carl the counter guy was very helpful and patient with us first times. I ordered the 2 rib lunch with 1 side and a spicy hot link add-on. The DW had the pulled Pork Sando with a side. The sister had the four rib dinner with two sides. The ribs were excellent. Just the right resistance. The Sis had the standard sauce (she is a wimp) and the DW and I went for the spicy sauce. Not that hot, so it was perfect. The hot link was not overly spicy as others have implied. No need for a glass of milk to be handy. As for the side dishes: there was potato salad (a nice home made batch), beans (rated excellent by the bean eaters), and coleslaw (good but not the greatest ever). Be sure to order the Peach Cobbler, if they have it. It was just coming out of the oven when we were there. Score!!!! Downsides, beside the lack of seating, were the plastic silverware (yea I know most orders are to-go), drink selection (only canned sodas, no ice, and diet drinks were limited to one - Ginger Ale with Cherry (yuck!!!). There seems to be iced tea normally, but no one had made any today and all they had was left over from yesterday. The staff was telling us they are out looking for a larger space and food truck. Larger space will definitely help as more and more people discover this hidden gem. We will be back!!!

Yelp
My first time and I was apprehensive. To my surprise the collard greens, Mac-cheese, hot link, ribs were delicious! This is my new bbq spot.

Yelp
First time at this restaurant, I ordered the two way meats and the chicken was not up to par (weird taste). The tri tip was not well seasoned. The greens and Mac and cheese were to die for. Corn bread was crumbing to touch. The pull pork slider was missing the Cole slaw the lady said would be on there. The environment was very welcoming. I would recommend to try again to see if I missed the actual cook that day.

Yelp
Food is great, but my only issue with this place is the organization. We got our order half correct however, we were given great items. Besides that, place is worth it.

Yelp
The food was amazing. The ribs was right off the bone mac & cheese was great. Service was fast and excellent very nice small little place will definitely be back 10 out of 10.

Yelp
5 stars for the ribs alone! I've been meaning to check out Bear West BBQ for a while, and I'm so glad I finally did. I ordered the 1/2 rack of St Louis Ribs; they were the best ribs I've had in a long time. Meaty, fatty, and falls off the bone. Goes so well with their in-house bbq sauce. My partner got the tri-tip with a side of mac n cheese. The tri-tip was good but I'm a ribs person!! The mac was great too. The staff here are very friendly, and they seemed to get along with each other. Seating is very limited inside (4 tables, though only 2 tables were available when I visited). Definitely check them out if you're craving bbq.

Yelp
i'm not from Sacramento, but I was recommended this place. I was not disappointed. I enjoyed everything that was on my plate now I'm not a peach cobbler person but the person I was with enjoyed their peach cobbler would recommend the tri-tip the ribs, the mac & cheese, and the collard greens. Also, the best cornbread I have ever had if you like fluffy cornbread this is the place to go.

Yelp
Ordered a 2 way meal. Chicken and Tri Tip with Mac and cheese and baked beans. I will say, I would not pay for this meal again. The portions of the meat were not what I expected. 2 legs and 2 small end cuts of the Tri tip. The chicken was tender. Tri tip was dry. The flavor of the chicken was great. But I cannot justify paying what I paid for this little amount of food. I can say I expected at least a leg and a breast or thigh. But not 2 legs. I also thought I would get a bigger cut of meat for the Tri tip, but each piece was smaller than the corn bread. I may try again to see what the portion is for the meat individually because the flavor was good, I would just advise not to order the way meals unless you are eating solo.

Yelp
Daaaaang!!! I love this place. Do not pass this up, the service is excellent and that food, I went 2 weeks ago and haven't stopped thinking about it. Every bite is delicious! I cannot wait to return. Don't sleep on the green beans, it was the best thing on our plates, not kidding. And the sweet potatoes and potato salad are fire as well. Great meats, excellent sauces. Our cashier was very sweet and patient, read the menu to our old butts and made fantastic suggestions, such as the green beans, which I would not have ordered if not for him and....they were my favorite!

Yelp
THIS Is your BBQ destination in Sacramento! The grilled chicken was tender and smoked beautifully. The Shrimp and Grits include bacon and Andouille sausage with a nice spicy bite. And the owners and staff are always friendly, professional, and generous! Big fan!!

Yelp
This is a real BBQ JOINT! Not that watered down junk they pass off as BBQ. This is the SPOT! Tender meat nice proportions and the cabbage, man the cabbage! It was cooked right with cut up sausage in it! The lady brought out a banana pudding! Wow! Very nice people good setting. This place is AUTHENTIC, real deal true! They are not new to the game they are true to the game . Anaiya is the absolute jewel of this place as a teenager she is kind and helpful and professional She makes this place!

Yelp
My only regret is not trying Bear West sooner. Went tonight with my husband and daughter. The young woman who took our order was friendly and made some suggestions for my daughter who's a picky eater. The food came out fast. We had ribs, tri-tip, hot links, baked beans, yams, mac, greens, corn bread, and brought some banana pudding and peach cobbler home for dessert. Everything was delicious. The spicy barbecue sauce was not overly hot but just right. The meats were tender, and all the sides were cooked and seasoned perfectly. And the portions for the price are on point. We're full and have leftovers for tomorrow's lunch. It's a little smaller on the inside than I expected but comfortable and I look forward to warm weather and going back to enjoy the outdoor seating.

Yelp
Food : 10/10 This food was soooo flavorful , cooked to perfection and steamy hot ! Service : 10/10 As a first timer I was unsure what I wanted to try and staff was super sweet and patient as I questioned what a lot of dishes included. There is a wait time to get your food approx 20-25 min but that is to ensure it is hot and ready . You can either eat inside or take it to go. Ambiance : it was really cute and homey ! Banana pudding : FIRE!!! I need another one I purchased two dinner plates , a can soda and a banana pudding for under $50 and it was well worth it !

Yelp
When I tell you I have been looking for this flavor in bbq and soul food all my life I have and found it. Small little place with a big kick of flavor. Service was amazing definitely a family ran place I wish was open 7 days a week! Everything has so much flavor. Ribs were so soft and fall off the bone didn't even need bbq that's how you know they were amazing! Hot link was perfect and spicy bbq was chefs kiss. The greens this is the only place I have had them that pack such a good flavor left me wanting more. Baked beans were soooo good with some meat in them too. The Tri tip was soooo soft I got a sandwich but clearly didn't take a picture since that was gone the minute I opened the box. Mac and cheese was cheesy and flavorful. Over all will be back again and again

Yelp
We stopped in on a Sunday for some takeout. It was very busy and there were a couple of large orders ahead of us so had to wait for a while. There were quite a few people there who came in after church and quite a few locals enjoying having a meal. We ordered the pulled pork sandwiches with the Mac and cheese, potato salad and green beans on the side. I liked the BBQ sauce was on the side so you can add as much as you want. The pulled pork was good. The Mac n cheese was a bit gloppy but had lots of cheese. The potato salad was good and green beans were ok with big piece of bacon.
