"So much is made of "doing" Bearfoot Bistro—sabering champagne bottles in the wine cellar, sampling vodka in the Ketel One Ice Room, watching nitro ice cream come to life tableside—that the bistro's stellar regular menu can be overlooked. Executive chef Melissa Craig, a Canadian Culinary Championships gold medalist, trained with Edward Tuson(considered the godfather of Canadian slow food) at Sooke Harbour House. Craig digs deep in the local provisions to design her dishes: "I've found 30types of potatoes up the road at Across the Creek Farm; Two Rivers Farm in Fraser Valley provides all of my birds, as well as my venison." When you combine Craig’s talent with owner (and Craig’s husband) André Saint-Jacques's flair for the theatrical, you shouldn't be surprised when "Did you go to Bearfoot?" is often the first question asked when you mention your trip to Whistler."

It was our last evening in Canada. We were looking for a special meal. The food overall was good but was let down with hard, overcooked mussels and virtually tasteless ravioli and peas. The service was appalling. We ordered wine but we had eaten the starter before it arrived. We were told that they couldn't find the wine. The evening was saved by Michael. He was very understanding and good to chat to. 5 stars to Michael..The nitro ice was super creamy

Charming spot. We had the Prix Frixe menu option, so we got a nice cross-section of dishes. The gem salad was nice, and the tuna tataki was fresh. The pea tortellini was bright and had an excellent chew. I had the pork belly and scallops, which were delicious. The pork belly had a lovely smoke to it, with a sticky/sweet layer which was amazing. There was an issue with the Wagyu Steak dish, but I will say that their handling of it was absolutely impeccable. They were professional, honest, accountable, and really handled it in an exemplary manner. Mistakes happen, and issues will arise; what matters is how you handle them—this is clearly a serious restaurant that cares about its product and its customers. It was really well handled there. The desserts were yummy, and not too heavy, and the drinks were light and refreshing. Would definitely recommend giving the Barefoot Bistro a try, we'll definitely be back.

An all around wonderful dining experience. We were made to feel genuinely esteemed as guests by the personable hospitality of the hostess (who graciously checked our coats), our server (who is also a pilot), and even the manager—who shared that he had worked here for 20 years, and personally created our nitrogen ice cream table-side. We were lucky to get immediately seated without a reservation, but I suppose we were early birds for dinner. Then thrilled to be sat at a table with view of the kitchen! The potato soup was a delicious starter, even for my daughter who ordered truffle fries and the pasta alfredo from the children’s menu. My husband and I enjoyed the elk with truffles and the oh so tender beef cheek. Everything was presented beautifully and tasted like it was made with care by a team of specialty chefs…which we could see that it was!

We came here to celebrate my partner’s 31 birthday and the experience was phenomenal from the beginning to the end. From the moment we sat down, we were offered sparkling or still water while having access to see the ins and outs of the kitchen as part of the experience (you have to specially request it). Our server and sommelier took care of us and gave us such great recommendations, everything tied together in a way that the flavors all complimented each other so well, not too much or too little. Special shoutout to: The Lobster roll and the Oysters. We got the prix set menu but I believe that the lobster roll is on the a la carte as well. Please, please, please get it. I would have 10 more of it if I could 🫣 They gave us two complimentary glasses of bubbly and a plate of chocolates to close out the night, and we are so grateful to have been treated like royalties for this special occasion. My partner wouldn’t stop raving about how this is his favorite dining experience ever and we cannot wait to come back 💛🤗

My wife had a great dinner paired with an excellent bottle of Red wine recommended by the staff. If you want full service dinner, this is it! Up to 5 people wait on your needs including an exclusive wine connoisseur that helps you choose based on your meal and your tastes. Very relaxed atmosphere. Everyone was excellent.

Reservations are strongly recommended. The online version is very good and simple. We skied Whistler for a week, it was the best dining experience we had during that time! The interior design of the restaurant is very cozy and stylish. There is enough space between the tables so you can have a relaxed conversation. Our dinner was particularly memorable, thanks to our waiter - QUENTIN. 👍 The young man was a great help with excellent food suggestions. The food was fantastic! I am sorry that I cannot give 6 stars for the dinner experience... ☺️

New Year’s Eve here as a very special and wonderful occasion. There was a special menu for the occasion and everything about the night was perfect from the appetizers to the desert and the impeccable service by our wonderful server. This is truly a place to treat yourself and a loved one where you will spend a good amount of money and feel that it was worth every penny. The vodka tasting at the sub zero temperature ice room was an added experience that we are so happy we chose to do. The person who runs it is extremely knowledgeable, very friendly and makes the experience a lot of fun. When it was almost midnight all diners were given complimentary champagne and were invited to come to come and stand at a designated area. We all counted down to midnight then had a great party. My newly wed wife and I had a wonderful time we will always remember fondly.

Google
Lovely family dinner on Saturday for the sugar shack priz fixe. 5 courses $47. Great value but wish I ordered the table side sundae for dessert. Watching the table next to us, it was a food performance 😀

Yelp
We reserved a second seating for New Years Eve. The night was Supposed to offer band and then a DJ. The band only played a few songs and the DJ was not going to start until 11:30. Lots of down time with nowhere to hang. The food was below average and way overpriced. It was a prefixed meal, the servers never presented what the course they were serving. The waiters never checked in. It seemed like they were understaffed. Not worth half of what they charged and no vibe. We went back to the hotel, they had a band and people having fun. Lesson learned.

Yelp
Went for the vodka ice room only. Didnt know they have a fancy restaurant in the other room til we got there. Just saw the big vodka ice room sign while walking by the whistler village. Experience was very cool. They let you wear a parka which is so cute. 4 vodka shots for 52$. It was very quick maybe like 10-15 mins only.

Yelp
If you're ever in Whistler, you *must* treat yourself to an evening at Bearfoot Bistro! My partner and I had the Chef's 5-Course Tasting Menu with the wine pairing, and I can't recommend it enough. The food was absolutely phenomenal--each course beautifully prepared, with portions that were just right. We loved learning that everything was locally sourced, giving each dish a truly authentic touch. The wine pairing was equally impressive, and the sommelier was a true expert. They walked us through each selection with such care, explaining how each wine complemented the flavors of the meal. It made the experience even more special. Our evening started with classic cocktails, and they did not disappoint. The flavors were spot-on, and it set the tone for the evening. From there, we were lucky enough to tour their kitchen and stunning wine cellar. It was a rare treat to see behind the scenes of such a high-end establishment. One of the absolute highlights was visiting their ice bar! We got to sample some incredible vodka in sub-20° temperatures, a one-of-a-kind experience that added an adventurous twist to the night. From the moment we walked in, the staff at Bearfoot Bistro were exceptional. Every time we excused ourselves from the table, they were accommodating and kind, making sure we were completely comfortable. The entire experience took about 3 1/2 hours, but time flew by with the seamless service and delightful courses. If you're visiting Whistler, you *have* to make a reservation here. It's an unforgettable experience that combines exquisite food, fantastic wine, and impeccable service. Highly, highly recommend!

Yelp
We were up at Whistler for a 3 night getaway towards the end of June before the busier summer season. Quite a few high end restaurants were having a 3 course Spring special menu and we picked Bearfoot for its $45 menu. The first course was either a beet/carrot salad or grilled octopus appy--small portion but made well. The main course we had cornish game hen(half) with the breast sous vide then torched while the leg was filled with sausage stuffing-- chefs skill really came through, beautiful plating and quite tasty. My hubby had lamb ragout pasta, it was a generous portion and not greasy with all the cheese on top. The 2 desserts are equally impressive, apparently there is a pastry chef in house. The ambiance is casual yet elegant, waitstaff are all knowledgeable on their food served, unpretentious and did not try to upsell on the liquor. All the servers came around to do some small talk, fill water constantly...impressed! This was a good intro for their food and we certainly will visit again!

Yelp
Oh. My. Gosh. Everything we had here was outstanding! My husband & I were so glad we did the tasting menu. It allowed us to really try so many things. I love that the restaurant features art on the walls that you can actually buy. The front of house & waitstaff were both outstanding. We told everyone we could about this meal as it was our favorite during our week stay in Whistler.

Yelp
Yummy! This was my favorite meal in the village. The ambiance in this space is incredible. It was a little challenging to find the restaurant in the Listel Hotel, mid village. Once there, however, they sat us at a beautiful table and we started out with the charity basket of bread, made in house. We loved the bread and had to hold back to save room for the main course. The spot prawn and scallop salad was as tasty as it was beautiful. The lobster was also uniquely presented and amazing. Both the strawberry shortcake and the chocolate raspberry dessert were incredible. We had no leftovers after this meal and all agreed it was our favorite new spot.

Yelp
Pricy but good for a special occasion! We visited Bearfoot Bistro on a Saturday night, with a reservation made well in advance for our large party. The vibe was classy, with elegant but subtle decor. We were seated next to the kitchen, so it was really cool to watch the food be prepared. They had an entire section of mocktails on the drink menu, and I chose one with apple/pear, that I can't find the name of now. I absolutely loved it though! It was surprisingly thick in consistency, and the flavors were so well balanced. My boyfriend also loved the Papa Berry, which was more simple and refreshing. For food, my boyfriend and I decided to share a bunch of appetizers instead of getting an entree. This worked out alright, but I wouldn't recommend it if you're hungry, because portion sizes were very small. The East & West Coast Oysters were very good, and came with a great mignonette. Our first appetizer was the Ahi & Albacore Tuna Crudo, which was fresh but not very substantial. I loved the fish, but the white styrofoam-looking crackers were flavorless. Next, we tried the Québec Foie Gras Duo. The presentation of the Marcona almond praline "magnum" was really creative, but we both liked the other Foie Gras more. Finally, we got the Braised Oxtail Tortellini, which was easily the best part of the meal. The pasta was perfectly cooked and the flavor combination was incredible. My friends loved their entrees, including the Lumina Lamb Rack "Navarin" and PEI Beef Ribeye. Service was helpful and professional, but this was far from a quick meal. Overall, a tasty dinner, but not the most value for the price tag!

Yelp
The service is great and this is the best restaurant we found in the village... The lighting and decor of this restaurant make us feel comfortable and relax. The food is delicious....Next time when we stop by, we will definitely come back again. The Grey Goose ice room is also inside at the Bearfood Bistro. The staff told us this ice room is maintained at an icy -32°C (-25°F), features walls, bars, and shelves all crafted from crystal-clear ice, with vodka bottles nestled in their nooks. It was a great experience to us.
google avatar

Xiaolu G.

Yelp
The place has nice ambiance but it's overpriced I didn't like the texture of the duck confit or the taste, but the sauce was good. The oysters were also good.
google avatar

BE S.

Yelp
Yelp got this one right but we didn't check the rating. The menu has some really nice items however both the salmon and the tuna crudo were quite mild and unremarkable. The oxtail tortellini was absolutely exceptional. However when you're going to charge 30-50 per appetizer and 50-80 per Entree do you really need to charge 4 per person for tap water and then 4 per bread? Also they were out of their one key steak (80, others are 100-120) and mixed up our appetizers with no frills. Additionally a very 80s and bland decor. Wasn't close to worth the price.

Yelp
Just stumbled one this awesome establishment for a drink and the ice room experience. Brandon and TJ were amazing. As was our ice room hostess! We had the why the fig not and the 47 Pisco. Both were amazing! As was the short rib poutine. Thank you for an amazing evening!

Yelp
Excellence; the full-package high end dining experience at a ski resort. Posh atmosphere with tables spaced well and great lighting. Dinner can be paired with the ice room vodka experience and with champagne sabering in the wine cellar. These experiences were integrated well into our evening and service was paced well. We also opted for the liquid nitrogen martinis, which are prepared table side. Cuisine here is along the lines of what one would expect, with a seafood tower of generous proportions and many selections of high-end mountain fare which drew "above average" reviews (nothing particularly noteworthy). This restaurant/establishment has put in a lot of effort to ensure that the add-ons are special and are not mere gimmicks. This elevates Barefoot Bistro to a perennial must-visit when in Whistler.
google avatar

Yelp
We went for apres ski with a group of six. The menu has a good variety. I have the beet salad and burger which were both really good. My husband had the French onion soup and Brussels sprouts. Our waiter was superb and so was the service. We were all served at the same time with four servers and cleared the same. It's very professional!

Yelp
So generally this is a place where was once really good but has gone downhill while the other restaurants have gone up. Expensive. Dated environment. Dated menu. We were there for their lobster feast. A few things stood out - service was great, and they had an extensive wine and beer list. Food was adaquate but not fantastic for the price point. I think the chef is confused about what people want. What I saw was an overcomplicated menu that wasn't done properly. The appetizer was decent but a little combobulated with too many things going on the plate. The Lobster was overcooked although the arricini was delicous. Dessert was just too much. Too rich. Too many things going on. Too heavy. Sadly the best thing was the truffle fries which were actually delicious. Perhaps they have an established community, because it was busy on the night we came in, but I can't say that my friend or I will come here again.

Yelp
The Ketel One Ice Bar is by the Bearfoot Bistro inside the hotel. You need to go into the restaurant to check in and they bring you back out to give you the winter coat. You can bring your bag in or leave it in the coat closet where only the staff has the key. You need to make reservation online and it's super easy. Not the cheapest and won't do it often but once for experience is totally cool. It is smaller than I thought though. Since I've been to Europe's ice bar this is a bit disappointing. However, the staff was super friendly and chill. We were the last group so it was just us and we took some photos. The staff was super willing to help take our photos and explain all the vodka. Some are pretty good and all the vodkas can be found in BC Liquor store. Some may not always be in stock but check regularly and it will pop out.

Yelp
This place did not disappoint! Everything was spectacular. The service, amazing. The cocktails, superb. And the food was out of this world. The presentation was perfection. The flavors beyond our palates dreams!

Yelp
Was really excited to eat here after reading reviews and hearing experiences of friends who had been. The entire meal, unfortunately, was a miss. To be honest, we skipped on the kitsch adventures in the vodka room, sabering a champagne bottle, and spending 30 plus for a serving of nitrogen infused ice cream - and just decided we'd eat a fabulous anniversary meal. From the reviews it seems the experiences above are maybe what makes the restaurant, rather than the quality of the food. The lamb was good, the gnocchi was overcooked and mushy. The Gruyère potatoes were both unexpected grits like texture, but also surprisingly bland, as I normally love Gruyère in everything. The cheese plate was OK, but with very small pieces of cheese and limited food for the 30 plus price tag, even by Canadian standards this course was highway robbery. My cocktail, the Hot Tub Time Machine, was good, and the poppy seed bread is divine. The server was also kind and knowledgeable. All in all, for the price and expectations, I left very disappointed. Skipped dessert altogether for fear of being more disappointed, and dessert is something I never skip. It was a memorable anniversary dinner, albeit not a good memory.

Yelp
This place came as a high recommendation from a friend and it is safe to say I no longer trust that friends judgement. Although the food was plated very nicely, the taste of everything was extremely subpar. When I was visiting, they had a set menu which included one appetizer, one entree, and one dessert. For the appetizer they served this panna cotta dish and it was absolutely gross. They took something that was simple and good and tried to make it too complicated and messed up the whole dish in the process. most of my table ordered this appetizer and none of us were able to stomach eating more than two bites. For my entree, I ordered the Iron Steak. My entree was the last dish to come out from my table. When it finally arrived, I was excited to dig in after a disappointing appetizer only to bite into a ice cold steak. This was shocking to be as the cook on the steak looked decent. It was as if they precooked all the steaks before dinner service and put them in the fridge and just pulled it out when it was time to plate an order. My friend also ordered the Iron steak and received cold steak as well. Everything else on the plate was also mediocre, potatoes were hard and cold. Only things that were edible on the plate was the two pieces of mushroom and one broccoli. I sent the dish back to the kitchen and when it came back it was still cold, room temp at the very best. I decided to just keep the dish to avoid arguing with the waitress. Next was the dessert, this chocolate mousse cake is probably the best thing I had all night but again still nothing special. In addition to my set meal I also ordered an octopus appetizer for the table and in total there was less that one tentacle in the entire dish. I went back to my Airbnb and ate cup ramen after.

Yelp
Amazing! Every year we enjoy our trip to Bearfoot Bistro. I love it so much and look forward to it so much that I forget to share pictures. The food is something I think about long after my trip has ended. As of this writing, I'm thinking about those truffle bites, oysters, and scallops. They have impeccable service staff that are knowledgeable and kind. The ambiance is fresh, clean, and romantic. If you're looking for an upscale couples dinner, Bearfoot Bistro has my recommendation.

Yelp
This place accommodated us as vegans with a larger group of non-vegans, so points to them for that -- we would never choose to come to an absurdly overpriced place like this otherwise. They had basically one appetizer and one main course that they can make vegan, as well as some of their sides. The appetizer was the Pemberton Salsify & Bosc Pear ($24), a pretty uninspiring and not all that tasty dish featuring all sorts of oddities that I'm sure take a lot of skill to prepare -- but it failed to impress the both of us. It's just not all that tasty. 2.5/5 The main dish was the Butternut Squash Quinoa Fritter ($48). This dish is centred around heavily deep fried squash and quinoa fritters. It has a base of roasted pepper tomato ragout, along with Beluga lentils, gigante beans, and broccolini. Everything was tasty, but the huge centrepiece of deep fried stuff became way too heavy / oily after a while. I wouldn't want to eat this dish again. 3/5 Top-notch service, but I really don't care about a lot of the things they do here to try to justify such outrageous prices.

Yelp
Barefoot Bistro has good food, but the prices and portions are a bit too extreme for me. I had the Maple Soy Cured Wild Salmon for the appetizer and for $18, I sort of expected more than 3 tiny bites (pic uploaded). However, I will say that it was beautifully made and really tasty. I also had the Beef Tenderloin, which was perfectly cooked, but really expensive at over $50 (forgot to take a picture). Drinks costed us over $150. I completely understand that this is fine dining, but if I'm paying those amounts, I expected to be more blown away. They have set menus for what seems to be a more reasonable price so that could be a good way to try out some items. The service was also wonderful so there's no issues there at all.

Yelp
We had the experience last night. Started with opening champagne with a saber. Then wine tasting. Did the vodka room. The food was excellent. Over all an experience. Great service as well.

Yelp
It's been awhile since I've posted but I'm glad to be back as restaurants are starting to open again. Being in Whistler for the night, we decided to check out Bearfoot Bistro as it was walking distance from the Westin and the Ketel One Vodka Room. I recommend as seats are limited, to book online in advance. When we got there, they reminded us of the safety measures and every waiter was wearing a mask which was reassuring. We decided to go with the lobster fest which is a 3 course meal and only available for a limited time on certain days of the week. I started off with a corpse reviver 2 which took 20 mins to arrive however the manager was very attentive and recognized it so he brought them himself and offered them for free so that deserves some praise! We were there for roughly a couple of hours. As we booked the Vodka Room right after dinner, they were very mindful of the timing to make sure we were rushed. As we were getting close to the booking, they offered for us to go and come back for dessert which was very nice of them. I would recommend this place for anyone looking for a nice romantic place that's close to the village center and wants to try some ice cold vodka!

Yelp
We came here for our 3rd year anniversary dinner. As we entered we were greeted by the host and showed us to our table by the window. The chairs were very comfortable. The place was spacious and felt comfortable with all staff wearing a mask. Ambiance romantic and relaxing. The experience was wonderful. I even asked where the restrooms located and he walked me to the restroom as it was in the hotel. We both started with watermelon cocktail and Chili Glazed Pork Belly off the Happy Hour menu. Both very delicious. Then we both ordered the LOBSTERFEST 3 Course Special $49.95. It's only available on Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday I had: 1st- Summer Inspired Salad - I loved the salad. I love beets and surprised it was beet forward 2nd - 1lb Atlantic Lobster with Pemberton vegetables, confit new potatoes, clarified butter - the lobster was cooked perfectly. The side dishes was so flavourful with the lobster. The clarified butter was a bit less buttery taste than expected but it still worked. Daily Featured Dessert - chocolate something and was really good. Great experience, I felt relaxed and happy throughout my dining experience. I would come again!

Yelp
Overall this place tries to appeal to higher end clientele, yet they fail to provide corresponding service. The environment and atmosphere are mediocre at best, lacks theme and unique decor. Tables are spaced very close together. The waiter was nice but very standard as to read off the daily specials but did not provide a response catered to our needs. There was no bread brought to our table, which felt slightly unwelcoming. The food: Foie gras torchon - tasted quite bland Quebec duck breast - meat was too chewy and more on the raw side, the skin was not crispy. There were cute decorations although very small. It was not clarified that separate sides would be necessary. Braised cheek - the meat was a great texture, melted in my mouth. Overall this dish was tasty and well put together. Although we are used to and look forward to paying a premium price for quality fine dining, it was not justifiable for this experience. The menu seems to be designed to encourage the chefs special 6 course meal for the but individual pricing is overrated and taste does not leave a high end impression.

Yelp
Only fabulous restaurant in Whistler. Had the chef's tasting menu with wine. Every bite a revelation. The sommelier was excellent and she was such a good teacher, educating about the wine and why it was paired with the dish. Truly amazing experience.
google avatar

Yelp
Let me just say this, this is a FANCY place. Service is fantastic as it is fine dining. I usually pick restaurants for food, not the ambiance. Food was ok but I will not choose this place for food. If you want the ambiance and service and don't mind average food then this is the place for you. We tried: Heirloom tomatoes and burrata- I liked it but thought it was overpriced Hamachi Sashimi- was ok House made cavatelli- was all right but was definitely not worth 48 bucks. I mean fine dining and all I won't pay for that much again. Halibut and grilled octopus- my husband said it was ok. But again overpriced. Desert was rocky road: nice presentation, good taste.. nothing spectacular This is just our opinion on pricing. I am not a big fan of fine dining anyway because of the super limited options, expense and small portions so take it with a grain of salt.

Yelp
Bearfoot has made a comeback in the recent years, only after I lowered my expectations just very slightly. It never is easy to manage a large group of 20 and to deliver top notch food, however Chef Mel and Andre have somehow managed to put it all together while also providing a memorable fine dining experience. The menu stays humble to tradition: combining French techniques with Canadian roots. Probably the best fine dining experience in Whistler! Do check out their vodka ice room!

Yelp
Best meal we had in Whistler. It was expensive but we would go again. Beautiful setting too.

Yelp
Haven't been back in five years and after covid country shutdown, time to come back. I was really looking forward to this place and the food. I should have gone to the Keg and been more satisfied than the utter disappointment this place turned into. No offense to the waitress, but we literally had to spell the cocktail labels for her! D E W A R S....Help these people do their jobs Bistro!! Ordered the Smoked Salmon Appi, turns out it was really 4 strips of Salmon Lox! My partner ordered the Lobster Tail, turns out it was really a "Rock Lobster" mini tail. I ordered the filet, it was a little larger than a Silver dollar....$72 --REALLY???? Wine list was extensive, French, Italian, Spanish, and HEAVY Canadian.......3 or 4 Cali and WA wines. Being from WASH, I don't know that much about French or Italian without help. I do know that WA or CAli produce far superior wines than BC "liteweight" CAbs. Stuck with Bourbon to get through dinner and leave. I do applaud the waitress for maintaining a Straight face through the Wagu sales pitch " it's only $495 for this deluxe marbled Wagu steak".

Yelp
Note: I went with a large group (~100) to Bearfoot Bistro that bought out the restaurant for the night. The staff was gracious and accommodating, and the chefs managed to get food out to us promptly. I checked with a number of the guests and everyone said they enjoyed the evening. Obviously, this isn't a normal review... Let me start with Bearfoot Bistro founder André Saint-Jacques. He was incredibly hospitable and went out of his way to talk to each guest. We started the evening in his underground wine cellar which has more than 20,000 bottles, including some very old (and expensive) vintages. It's hard to find a 1906 Grand Vin de Chateau Latour and, if you did, it would likely cost well over $10K to buy it. Since we were drinking Champagne, André let us saber some bottles. That's chopping off the tops of champagne bottles using a sword. So cool. Here's a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ICs0TQ7TZAo&feature=youtu.be For starters, we had the choice of truffle ricotta tortellini, seared scallop, or foie gras. The foie gras was a parfait served with some cured duck crackles and tangy stone mustard. Yum. The person sitting next to me raved about the scallop. Our choices for main were rib eye, lobster, and rack of lamb. Most people went with the lobster and were quite pleased with the generous portion. I had the lamb -- the black garlic jus was a perfect complement to the lamb rub. I would definitely eat it again. For dessert, we had a choice of chocolate cake but everyone at my table went for the nitro ice cream. That's right, they make it tableside. It's not as rich as the ice cream we get in the US but very tasty nonetheless. The dinner took nearly 3 hours -- but we weren't done. The last stop was the ice room. You put on Canada Goose, Arctic-ready parkas, enter a room chilled to -25F, and try four vodkas from 50 different types. The vodkas are made from rye, wheat, soy, and hemp seeds, with flavors like chocolate, peach, and strawberry. Somehow the extreme cold minimizes the burn. I don't know if I'll ever get back to Bearfoot Bistro but, if you're putting a group together, count me in.

Yelp
If you stop by whistler and have extra cash this is one of the best resturants I got to experience. From the food to the service it was immaculate. Still 3.5 years later I am thinking about my time there. Very pricy but a total worth. Ambiance: 5/5 Wonderful interior: warm, classy and interesting. Their dining room is very fitting with the price tag that might go with the bill at the end. Surrounded by pieces of art and art structures, the thing that mezmerized me was their vodka ice room. Service: 6/5 I have never had such tending, elegant service in my life, none before and none after my time there. I'd recieve an above and beyond service, never disturbed when mid-mouth bite, glasses are always full, and you'll have your privacy for conversation. Food was describe to me in full which has always been a plus in my books. Food: 5/5 We had the Chef's tasting, it was creative, beautifully plated, most importantly the flavour pallet and mouth feel of the food was great. Even 3.5 years ago they created a fantastic vegan tasting. I'd put trust in all their food. Worth: 5/5 The bill price sure was hefty, no way could I afford going more than once but the memory I have of the place was all worth it. They'll leave you with a parting sweet treat box that will make you go back just for it. Suprise a loved one with this place

Yelp
Coming from NY, I always compare restaurants across the globe to how I feel at a Michelin star restaurant. This place gave me the same feeling of eating that dish that changes three times on your palette. The feeling of euphoric food enjoyment tasting each of the distinct flavors the chef intended you to taste while preparing the combination. You can hear her thinking diligently in the kitchen as you bite into each spoonful of wonderful-ness. Brilliance on a plate. Also must do is their vodka tasting room. Incredible.

Yelp
This place disappointed for the value. While the food was ok, price is exorbitant and one would think service would be over and above. Instead we had a waiter that barely cared we were there and sommelier that assumed our choice of bottle instead of taking time to review choices and recommend. This should not be a place on the top of the list of concierge's and we shared our feedback with manager as well.

Yelp
Pricey and a little gimmicky but overall great food and service and outstanding meal. Only complaint was on the desert, thought that highly recommended house specialty nitro ice cream was overrated and underwhelming. But all the appetizers and mains were delicious.

Yelp
It truly makes me sad to write this review. My husband and I came here several years ago and it was the one place that I said "we MUST go back there". This experience was so disappointing that I was a little shocked. We sat at the bar for a more comfortable, relaxed atmosphere, and met some amazing nice people. There were no Oysters available, but that was not a deal breaker. What was disappointing was the way the bartenders couldn't have been more snobbish and condescending in the way they treated us. My husband's champagne glass sat empty for over 30 minutes, and it was not overly busy. We were never offered to have our drinks refilled or a simple "how is everything?" We tried to engage with them but it was more than obvious that they had already qualified us and were not going to waste their valuable time. We had reservations for the Ice Room and Dinner tomorrow, but I have canceled, they will not get any patronage from us again. I felt completely disrespected and it left me very disappointed, because I truly wanted this to be as amazing as I remember.

Yelp
Bearfoot Bistro is absolutely wonderful! Combine an amazing meal, service, drinks and add in a Kettle One Ice Vodka Cave you have yourself a night to remember! The meal was definitely our most expensive during our baby moon to Whistler but everything was perfect! Start with the Squab...yep a baby pigeon of some sort. Tastes like quail or dark chicken meat. Then go to the Red Deer Chop from Quebec! Having never had either I wasn't sure what to expect but oh my goodness every bite was better than the first! Combine that with the amazing service! Great drink specials and romantic setting this restaurant offers everything you'd want for a night out! Right after dinner but before dessert I recommend checking out the kettle one ice cave! $48 for 5 samples of 40 below zero vodka! The colder it is the smoother it goes down! One of the best restaurants if not the best in all of Whistler!

Yelp
I've been to Barefoot Bistro before but not done in the since cellular until this visit. With 16,000+ bottles you will find both want you want and get what you need. The chef here is one of the best in BC and never disappoints. The sommeliers suggest some great pairings for each course. For a special evening this is the best in the Region!

Yelp
Fun vibe! The Vodka tasting room was a lot if fun after we finished dinner. The food is very average and you do not get very big portions. I had the beef loin and it was a little "Gamey". This could be just the way it was supposed to taste, however it was not to my liking The wine list is very extensive with a lot of fantastic choices. The desert was the best part. They have a table side ice cream prep that was fantastic. Amazing!! If you are looking for an upscale environment with very formal waiters and food presentation, then this is the spot.

Yelp
Service wasn't so good Felt like we were looked down; would a sommelier recommend a wine to you throwing off saying "This one is good, good deal"? (it was half price bottle day, so why not take the advantage of it? But it wasn't so good) The food Oysters: good(of course) 5/5 Crab starter: very good!! 5/5 (portion is a bit small, I'd pay more to get lil more) Lamb: 2/5 felt like eating dog food With what you see plus a bottle of wine(half price day), including tips was a$265 or $285 Maybe I'll try again next time Hopefully with better service

Yelp
Good wine list didn't overcome the very mediocre food at an outrageous price. Never will I go back

Yelp
I went here during COVID and the tables were all socially distant. Restaurant was clean and I saw them change the table cloth and wipe down the chairs when the guests were done. All the servers wore masks, but I did notice none of the kitchen staff wore masks. Now on to the food! We ordered the Sunday 3 course lobster meal which started with lobster bisque (delicious), 1 lb lobster entree (amazing), and daily dessert which was an almond torte thing (divine). We also had oysters to start and spot prawn pork belly appetizer. Both were great. I definitely come back to the Bearfoot Bistro the next time I'm in Whistler

Yelp
Happy Hour for Apres is the bomb! We had a very nice time. After a long day of snowboarding, we were exhausted and hungry, so we decided to go here for a quick drink and a bite to eat. The restaurant is very nice and had modern decor. We got a table right away and our waiter immediately came to take our drinks order. During happy hour they have the half off appetizers and oysters deals. We got a dozen of oysters for $20 instead of $40. They were nice tasty BC oysters. We also got the poutine and the bowl of clams and both were delicious. These are specialty Canadian food that must be had when skiing or snowboarding in Canada. Also, inside the restaurant there's the Vodka ice room full of chilled booze. They have a special tasting menu for vodka tasting that is a must try. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
Bearfoot Bistro is one of my favourite restaurants in B.C. It's located in Whistler slightly on the outside of the main village. The dining room is large and very upscale. The restaurant has been ranked as one of the top 100 in Canada and it's always in the top three restaurants in Whistler. It really deserves it. Their menu has two options: either a three course meal or a five course meal. We decided to do the five course meal. We both started with the West Coast Oysters. We got three oysters on a half shell. It's a perfect way to start a meal - nice and refreshing. I then got the Pemberton Beets and Carrots. It came with kale, puffed grains with a delicious caramelized buttermilk squash. The Albacore Tuna Tataki was one of the best dishes I've had - just perfection. The tuna tataki was presented in two different ways, along with a citrusy powder, radishes and puffed tapioca. I could eat this again and again. For the main dish I ordered the West Coast Bouillabaisse. A bouillabaisse is a fish stew, which is just what I wanted on a cold day. With the tomato as a soup base, it came with fish, clams, fennel, shrimp and peppers. Yummy!! And just when we thought the meal couldn't be topped, we got the Hazelnut Brioche. This was probably the best dessert I've ever eaten. The brioche was fresh and light with a tiny bit of cream in the middle. There was plum jam and mocha ice cream. Put it altogether and it was beyond perfection. The staff were all friendly and efficient presenting each dish with expertise. The five courses were distributed evenly making the dinner roughly two hours. This place is expensive. It's $98 for the five course meal, but they do have surcharges depending on what you order from the menu. I would prefer them to increase the price and remove these extra charges. My entire meal was $135, including a drink. Service was 4.0. Food was 5.0. The experience was 5.0. Overall 5.0. Very impressed.

Yelp
I'm honestly surprised that this restaurant isn't rated higher...this place is one of the best restaurants in Whistler, in my opinion, and it absolutely worth the price. We came here on New Year's Day for dinner, and were able to sit down right away for a Party of two (probably bc everyone else was hungover LOL). Our waiter (Richie, I think) was great! He walked us through the menu and gave us some excellent recommendations. For dinner, we chose the "Three course menu" which ran for $98CAD per person. For food options, I went with what our waiter suggested; the cauliflower soup for first dish, and then the short rib for the main dish. For dessert, I ended up getting some super tasty dark chocolate mousse dessert (I forget the name of it) but it was SO GOOD. So let's talk about the food- for the record, EVERYTHING on the menu looked good, but of course, you can only choose so much, right?! :) The cauliflower soup was EXCELLENT. It was piece of fresh cauliflower with bits of lobster, with the creamy broth being added as the dish was served to you. As if this wasn't good enough, the short rib dish I ordered was completely mind blowing. The meat was so tender and juicy, and fell apart as you shoveled fork-fulls of meat into your mouth. As if that wasn't enough, the garnish to accompany the short rib complemented the dish so incredibly well. I definitely had a party in my mouth. You can tell that the chef at this place puts their heart and soul into creative recipes and tasty dishes. 10/10 for food, flavor, and presentation. The dining and overall experience that we had at this restaurant was superb. I always say, I'm not just going out to eat; I'm looking for a complete dining experience. & this restaurant did just that.

Yelp
Sadly Bearfoot has gone downhill since my last dining experience! I was there over the weekend with a big crew and we had been the year before which was great. This time, it was the food that really fell short and people noticed. I absolutely love the sabreing of the champs and the vodka room is very cool (expensive but cool for a one time thing). The overall atmosphere is lovely but the staff and food wasn't the finest this time around. I ordered the wagyu beef with mashed potatoes and when it came out, I swear I needed a magnifying glass to find the beef and potatoes. They were minuscule! The beef was devoured in about three bites, the mash potatoes were about a small spoonful and there were two sad looking green veggies on top which I can't really tell you what exactly they were. Oh and not to forget, the weird onion ring gruyere thing that looked like it had been dropped on the plate from someone's take out meal at Wendy's. I talked to a lot of women after their meals and we all said how we have to go to McDonald's or grab pizza after to actually eat because we were all still starving so I can imagine the bigger guys in our crew were also hungry. The appetizer was weird, it was smoked salmon with some sort of foam on top. Why restaurants do foam, I will never know. Pairing it with salmon was unappetizing as it reminded me of actual sea foam. Lastly for dessert I had a green apple tart thing. Bizarre!! And the appearance reminded me of an 80s xmas. I heard the chocolate mouse was a lot better. Wine was yummy and cocktails were delicious as ever but the service was a little odd. We found one server served men drinks but wouldn't serve certain women. Not sure if this was intentional but it was odd and quite noticeable. Anywho, sad to say this as I've always liked bearfoot but this is an honest review about how ive seen it lose its charm. The value isn't great either. The portions are tiny and they're asking for a lot of $$$. If you had to choose, go to the rim rock instead!!

Yelp
The food was amazing, and our original waiter was great! However, my 1 star rating was unfortunately based on hostile experience we received by a waiter who was "told"/forced to assist us with our bills, and the terrible explanation we were given by a manager for the behaviour we received.... We had a large party of 13 for my bachelorette. A non-refundable deposit was expected. Once, the bill came we were given the option for the deposit to go back to the one account or for it to be deducted from each bill... We chose the latter since the money was collected already. Our waiter briefly explained that it may take a while and went off to process the bills. No further emphasis/explanation was given about the "extremely long process" to add the deduction back in. With a large party, we expected the bills to take longer to process... 10 minutes later we were met with a tall slender lady with a cold exterior whom we've never seen before. She stood right beside my guest and began to count out loud with no greeting whatsoever. Then she proceeded to slam 1 bill in front of my guest and waved the card machine in front of her pressuring her to act fast.. My other guest politely asked if we will be receiving our other bills and she was responded with an enormous amount of condescend about how we somehow made this inconvenient for her therefore, only 1 card machine is available at the time. She continued to approach every transaction with hostility, a raised voice and condescend. She responded to simple questions with she "was told to do this" and that "she has other tables to serve" indicating that she was basically forced to do her job.... WE did not ask her to assist our table... As she reluctantly completed 3 transactions, I no longer could stand her remarks and attitude towards my guest...I had to quickly inform her that we were not aware that this process was inconvenient for her... as our waiter gave us the option...I asked her why we were receiving this hostile treatment. She proceeded to respond in an agitated manner and stormed off. She returned with the same cold arrogance and attempted to complete another transaction!... One of my guest attempted to reason with her and explain AGAIN, that this option was given to us, NOT forced by us...The waiter responded with an attempt to belittle my guest and then we were forced to tell her we were not going to excuse her for her bad behaviour - whether we were wrong or right in choosing this option.... If this process was so extremely inconvenient, why was it offered?! Why is it an option, Barefoot Bistro?! Shortly after that waiter stormed off ONCE AGAIN, I explained to one of the managers (bald-headed fellow) who basically agreed and supported the hostile treatment we were given... At this point our wonderful night and experience was ruined - we were stunned. The manager proceeded to tell us that the process was long in which we clearly noted and then he attempted to make us feel further guilty for choosing that billing option. Extremely passive aggressive, no apologies, completely eerie and egregious. I hope this is reviewed and addressed among the team... I do not believe we will be visiting again after this experience with management.

Yelp
We stopped in here to have a dirty vodka Martini after visiting the Ketel One Ice Room for their vodka tasting. We had been told by others that one could get a dirty vodka martini here - complete with Blue Cheese stuffed Olives. Turns out this is no longer true. The bartender advised us they had discontinued that option a couple of years ago. How disappointing! We both ordered dirty vodka martinis - I was dismayed to find my three Olives contained pits. One had to carefully gnaw the Olive flesh off the pit. I've enjoyed martini's at many different bars - I've never encountered a place that used Olives containing pits in their Martinis... I asked the bartender about this - he shrugged and replied that's how they do it. No reason to return here...

Yelp
Food was soo good. Truffle ravioli, truffle fries, mushrooms, and seafood basket. Went to the basement wine cellar as well.
