Not too heavy and not too sweet. The red bean one was less sweet as well. 🤍❤️I think it’ll be great to have a flavor that combines cream and red bead! Another interesting flavor was tuna salad & cheese. It was amazing. I’m a sweet-treat person but this one caught my mind more tbh. Also, I hate celery… they did add it in the salad.. but I finished all!❤️‍🔥 highly recommend this one.

It was so delicious! I got the ube flavored pie. It was surprisingly warm (I thought for some reason it would be cold on the inside haha). On a cold day, this was a perfect treat. It wasn’t overbearingly sweet and was just the right amount to have a warming treat. The lady was very nice and took her time to make it right. My only complaint would be that I wish her stall had chairs, but other than that totally worth trying!

This place is a bit hard to find because they are at the back in a building. The owner is very nice and chatted with us while we wait for our wheel pie. It can take a while since these are make to order and not very scalable. I do wish there was a peanut butter flavor. We tried the red bean, peanut cream, and purple yam and they are not too sweet which is perfect for us.

Quit the skibid sigma underground location. The wheel pie/cake was very much filled with cream and it leaves a MASSIVE flavor behind ( it’s good ) I took my gyat here for a surprise and we could both agree that the cream was a good choice and receives 5 big booms. Taiwanese wheel cakes (車輪餅) are not a thing in most areas of the country but in places like Flushing, it can be a tasty reality. Formally Happy Wheelie Cakes (#1), they rebranded to an equally cheeky name in Bearin Wheel Pie during the pandemic. It has since remained one of the more well-known stalls at Landmark Quest Mall. There is little to no seating here, so it's takeout or nothing. They do accept phone orders, but there is something especially satisfying about the process of watching the staff pour batter into the mold, hearing the sizzle, and then seeing the cakes take shape. Their custom machine is definitely one of a kind. As for the wheel cakes themselves, they're an ideal snack on the go. Everyone has a favorite, but I personally enjoy the red bean filling but the everyone has a preference. I personally enjoy the red bean flavor as well as the black sesame. For double fillings, it'll be an extra messy, and nearly $5. I usually try to combine this place with Joe's Rice Roll as my dessert option. The woman running the stall is Taiwanese and extremely friendly. It's a cash only biz and the price gets marginally cheaper if one buys multiple wheelies at a time. THE MILK MOCHI IS SOOOO GOOD. I was craving this throughout my trip in NY. Highly recommend. The milk mochi is nice a stretchy, not overly sweet and smooth. The peanut sugar topping seals the deal. However for $10 it is pricey but would order this every time I come to Flushing. It is in a hole in a wall of shops and I was so happy I was able to find this place. I learned about this through TikTok from a creator named Viveca | NYC. So happy I stumbled upon this place before going. The Oreo wheel pie was okay. I think if it was an Oreo cream rather than pieces of Oreo I would have liked it more. I think I just need to try some other flavors next time! Definitely a grab and go area. Very limited seating shared among a few vendors.

The Oreo wheel pie is absolutely amazing! The the wheels are made fresh and totally worth the wait. Would definitely go back to try the other flavors. Ton of variety. I do have to mention that there may be some cross contamination with peanuts - that is only a concern if you are allergic. The "stand" is located inside a building with other different stands - all the way in the back. Please note that the building is very small and cramped, so the area is loud. Another is that the seller speaks very limited English and more Chinese/Mandarin , but there is a menu so it may be easier to show what to select.

The milk mochi pudding with peanut sugar topping is a revelation! It's a fairly unassuming looking dish, but packed with flavor and so so good. I didn't know what to expect and wasn't really thinking I was going to like it, but I LOVED it! So much so that I tried to go the next day to order it again, but they were closed. And that's the only downside is that it's a little confusing to tell when they're open and when the mochi milk pudding is available.

I cheated on my diet for the cream wheel pie; it's delicious and reminds me of the ones I've had in Taiwan. The woman behind the counter is very friendly. She makes the wheel pies fresh, so you'll need to wait around ten minutes. This is not a restaurant, just a food vendor among several others inside a large building. It's definitely worth the wait and the extra ten minutes on the StairMaster.

BLUF: OK, but Money Cake in Tangram Food Court is better. Bearin Wheel Pie is the second iteration of the food stall in Landmark Quest Mall (most known for hosting Joe's Steam Rice Rolls) that offers Taiwanese wheel cakes, which are pancake-like batter shells with sweet or savory fillings. Bearin's wheel cakes are about 3-inches in diameter, 2.5 inches of that contains filling, with the remainder serves a flat lip. We tried two of their wheel cakes, which were $4 each (including tax): regular custard and matcha. The fillings were lightly flavored, but comparatively lumpier than that from Money Cake in Tangram Mall. The wheel cakes are made to order. Stated wait times are 10 to 20 minutes but our last order took closer to 30 minutes. One can call ahead to place orders in advance. Logistics: - Cash only. - Cell phone signal seems non-existent in that part of the mall; just walk to the front of the mall.

This place is delicious. We got the milk mochi which is so soft and has a nice mild sweet taste. It comes with a sweet peanut crumble on top. The portion size is huge. It took 3 of us to finish eating it all. Milk mochi is definitely hard to find in the city and so glad to have found it here

A hidden gem located in the Landmark Quest Mall serving traditional Taiwanese wheel pies. I've had this spot bookmarked for the longest time, so was super excited to swing by for a snack. There are a ton of different flavors you can choose from, and I ended up getting the Taro. The owner makes everything to order, so there can be a wait - but totally worth it for how fresh and comforting the wheel pie (also not too sweet + amazing texture). Highly recommend adding Bearin Wheel Pie as a spot on your next Flushing food crawl :)

I really enjoyed it! The flavor with the peanut powder was fantastic, and I can't stop thinking about it after finishing. I visited around noon on a Wednesday. I heard they only make 10, but when I arrived, it was already pre-made in the fridge, so I can't confirm if that's still the case. The only drawback is that it's a bit pricey and not very large; it costs $10 for this item. Would I go back? Yes!!!!

Wheel pies or wheel pastries are shaped like a circular top half with a thin waffle like exterior and filling of your choice - red bean, taro, ube, black sesame, etc. It's easy to miss as this is in a small vendor like mini food court where Joe's Steam Rice roll is located. Each wheel pie is made with great care and made to order, which takes around 8-10 minutes. It was a very hearty wheel pie, and easily shareable!

Yummy sweet treats located in one of those stores that have a bunch of different stalls. This one is toward the rear of the store. An older lady mans the stall and makes them to order so be prepared to wait! There's a good amount of filling options to choose from as well. Try to eat it fresh or else it'll get a little soggy if you wait too long! The stall also sells slushes. Make sure you have cash because cash only!

Been slow at following trends and thought moneycake was just ok for the $$$. This is run by a super nice lady. The double filling is $4.50 compared to $6 and I thought was way tastier.

Experience Taste This place got pretty popular due to social media and I really wanted to try it out because these desserts look really special. I ordered two pies - one with sesame and mochi and the other with taro and egg yolk. There is a pink paper hanging right in front that said it would take 8-10 minutes but I ended up waiting 35 minutes. I really wished the cashier notified me of the wait so that I could visit other places instead of standing there for that long. The worst part was that a lady who came 10 minutes after me somehow got her order of 3 pies before mine (she placed her order at the counter/didn't call ahead). If you decide to come, either call ahead or place your order and come back 30 minutes later - my order was bagged after it got off the stove and it was soggy 2 minutes later so it's better if you came back so the pies can cool off. Also I would recommend the taro one - it has more flavor than the sesame one!

I saw that Bearin Wheel Pie had something called milk mochi on Tiktok so I decided to swing by on the rare occasion I was out in Flushing. I wasn't really sure what to expect, but the milk mochi ($8) was bland, lumpy, and the weirdest texture ever. It came cold, and because of that, it felt like gelatinized cold milk that barely tasted like anything. I had it again later when it warmed up to room temperature and the milk flavor started peeking out, but this is definitely not something I would purchase again. Their wheel pie batter is a little too crispy and hollow for my preference. I like a slightly breadier texture the way Catmint does it. However, Bearin Wheel Pie does have a good selection of flavors ranging from savory to sweet.

Delicious and worth the wait! I'll be back for more. :) I tried the custard and boba combo and it wasn't sweet. The perfect treat for a cold or hot day. ;)

It's pretty normal. Maybe choosing the cream filling is not the best choice since it's dễ ngán. The place is located in a food market in a small building so there isn't a lot of space. And it takes quite a long time to make one. Cash only.

PSA: cash only! We stopped by here to try the Wheel Pie -- unfortunately they were just opening up and it took almost 30 minutes to get our pies after ordering. While the lady made our order soon after we placed our order, she also made everyone else's (who ordered after us) all at the same time, so our order was not ready until everybody's was ready. I get that it's a single person running the stand, but it definitely made for a not-great experience waiting around for everyone's order to be ready. There are wheel pies that have the typical sweet fillings (taro, matcha, red bean, etc), but there are also options with savory fillings. We ordered 1 taro and 1 matcha and both fillings were tasty. The wheel pies tasted pretty good, though one of our pieces opened up from the side when we tried to eat it, so just be prepared that it can get messy! All in all, it's a nice shop (inside the same food court as Joe's Steam Roll) and the novelty of the wheel pie which you don't really find in the States is worth a visit, but be prepared for a wait (unless nobody else is around). They also had other dessert options which others talk about which I might want to come back and try.

The Wheel Pie is a pretty efficient food delivery system. The enclosed "pie crust" itself is a cross between a smooth pancake and waffle like texture of crispy on surface, but light and soft on the inside. The filings can vary from sweet (which in this case is not very "sweet" at all - something I appreciate about most Asian desserts. They don't overload you will sugary sweetness) to savory. I mainly had the sweet ones. I found that the filing was less creamy custardy texture, but rather had a little more substance to them - perhaps more of a starch base? I tried the black sesame and matcha ones. I would have liked those flavors to be more pronounced, but it was a tasty treat nonetheless. They reheat well (Toaster oven set for 250 degrees for 10 min made them crispy and warm) Red Bean, Taro, Matcha, Cream, Oreo and Black Sesame are the usual fillings. They also have special fillings such as Taro with Egg Yolk; Radish with Mushroom; Matcha with Red Bean; Red Bean with Mochi and Corn with Cheese. The price went up $.50 as of August 1st. They also have other treats such as smoothies and "slush". Bearin Wheel Pie is hidden within a subdivided mall (Landmark Quest Mall according to Yelp) , which is common for the area, but it made me wonder how people found these great places prior to sites like Yelp guiding the way.. hmmm..

The Bearin Wheel Pie is inside a mini mall along Roosevelt Ave. You can't see it from the street, so we almost missed it. It's a small cash only place and I wanted to try the Milk Mochi ($5.50), which was so yummy. It comes in a container, with sugary peanut powder on the side. It tastes like a very chewy milk pudding and the peanut powder adds nice flavor. If you like milk pudding and mochi texture, I recommend you give it a try!

Very cute shop that reminds me so much of the wheel pie stands in Taiwan! They have a wide variety of classic and special flavors. I got the custard cream and matcha red bean - both were pretty solid and tasted like what I would get in Taiwan. Orders might take a while, since everything is made to order, but that just means everything is hot and fresh off the griddle when it gets to you. They are cash only, and prices can be a little high at $4-$4.50 per wheel pie.

3.5 stars. I came here because I craved the nostalgia of having a wheel cake. After ordering it took 10 minutes for two wheel cakes to be made. I think the wait time for the cake is a bit too long, but fortunately the taste was pretty good. I haven't had a wheel cake in a long time so having it again was a great experience. It wasn't the best one I've ever had, but it was still pretty comforting. Also, the cream flavor was $4 which is really high for this type of pastry. However, there isn't anywhere else that sells wheel cakes and it is in New York, so the price is understandable. There is a generous amount of filling and the cake part is dense enough to hold everything together. The cream wasn't overly sweet which I appreciated. Wheel cakes were my childhood so my standards are kind of high, but overall, if you want a comforting warm pastry, I would recommend giving this place a shot.

Not a good experience, long wait, & tastes just okay. I was first in line waiting, another party lined up behind me, & a 3rd party came to order. Instead of taking my order, the cashier asked the 3rd party if they had been skipped by other folks in the line.. a poor experience already. I ordered the red bean & matcha flavors ($4 each). Took about 20-25 mins. Guess who got their order first.. the customers 3rd in line. Tried the red bean as soon as I got it, it was a bit bland (feel like they could've used a dash of salt to bring out the taste). Initially crispy but got soggy pretty soon after. Not worth the wait especially when experience wasn't that great.

It's like a Mochi but not in a round ball form. For some reason I was thinking it would be warm but it's cold. Still very delicious and I liked how it's different than your typical Mochi. I definitely recommend the peanuts on top otherwise it may be a bit too plain. Their freshly made wheel pastries are also very good. I tried the tarp salted egg. The taro paste was really good and had bits of taro but the salted egg wasn't very strong, could be saltier but overall I really enjoyed it and will come back! I want to try the ones with tapioca in them

A cute spot located in a very tiny food gallery across from New World Mall. They offer many flavors from sweet options like Oreo, chocolate, or boba cream to savory options like tuna salad, radish and mushroom for $4.50 each. I would definitely recommend sticking to the sweeter options. Each pie is made FRESH so expect to wait for them to be cooked to perfection. The outside is crispy yet soft on the inside and the perfect amount of sweetness in the filling. Super yummy!

So delicious! This place was a little hard to find but it's right across the street from the new world mall. It's inside another small market place. They take about 10min to make but luckily on Saturday there wasn't to many people there just a handful of others. The style is taiwanese which isn't so sugary which I love. My fiancé could use a bit more sugar he said. We tried the black sesame which I wasn't to fond of. I got the tarp which was so yummy if you love taro! Also tried the mochi milk! So good! Prices went up and it's cash only! So bring money!

I'm in loveee with the Milk Mochi! It is a perfect mix of pudding and mochi that offers a soft chewy texture that doesn't stick to your teeth. Essentially a chewier more fun Italian panna cotta The peanut sugar on top is necessary because it adds a little graininess and sweetness. Honestly, before I tried it my willingness to pay was not $8 but after i did I was like TAKE MY MONEY!! The lady was super sweet! We spoke mandarin, Cantonese, and English. She might even speak more, but I wouldn't know because that's it for me

The owner is so sweet, the service here is great. I ordered the taro with mochi and watching her make it was entertaining. I loved how the exterior was crunchy and the inside wasn't too sweet, but generous amount of mochi and taro!! Great snack!

Came here just to try the fresh milk mochi after seeing it on tiktok. Definitely did not disappoint. The mochi comes with a side of sweet, crushed peanuts that you can mix it with. The mochi is super soft and the milk flavor is sooo good! I don't think i've ever had mochi like this before, definitely a must try.

Yummy little cake spot. All the flavors were good but be prepared for a line. Nice crisp texture on the inside and gooey flavor in the middle. I realized this type of dessert is not my favorite. I prefer just the egg-shaped cakes without filling, but they do a good job executing this. Brings me back to Taiwan

It is across the street from New World Mall in the same building as Joes Steam Rice Roll, just walk down the little pathway and it will be on the right. The owner of this stand is so sweet. I had never had wheel pies / cakes before but I had heard they were very popular in Taiwan. She spent a while speaking to me in Chinese about her history running wheel pie shops and told me about how she created each flavor at the shop. I decided to order the taro salted egg yolk wheel cake and got to watch as she made one fresh for me! The cake is so cute and fun-sized, the perfect snack to be eaten warm. I was very impressed by the taste and quality of both the cake and the filling. I loved it a lot and I wish I ordered more! If you are in Flushing I highly recommend checking this stand out and supporting this business :')

We arrived towards the last hour to get our pies, and it was an unbearably (heh) hot summer day, so the owner was planning to close shop early, but she was so sweet and made our orders anyway. We had the taro with salted egg and another red bean tapioca pie. They smelled SO good and were stuffed to the brim in the casings. They weren't too sweet, which is what I personally preferred, and unfortunately needed to be eaten immediately as they get soggy if stuck in the bag, but they were still yummy! It was also interesting to watch her make them as they're made fresh to order, right in front of you. I'll be going back some time to try the milk mochi since that one ran out early!

Wow I didn't know what these things were called in English until I came here! Wheel pies are a huge part of my childhood, my aunt from my dads side owned a cart that sold these in Ping Tung right outside my grandma's house, and I spent a lot of childhood summers helping her make the cream and the red bean fillings while watching her sell them every day in the hot sun. This owner is extremely friendly and reminded me of her! I got one cream and one red bean, and she threw in a Taiwanese tea egg just for me to try out! This place is authentic and the owner speaks good English, mandarin, and Taiwanese. She is friendly and sociable, striking up amusing conversation as she makes our orders right after we order them to keep them fresh! Definitely try this place out for a taste of authentic Taiwanese street food!

Taiwanese famous street food which have warmed our taste memories - wheel cakes, which we often call red bean cakes, are finally it's first spot in Flushing, New York. Owner Jennifer is very friendly, patiently introduced to me the origin of wheel pies. She made fresh after place orders, so expected to takes 15 minutes baking times.

Really good and fresh wheel pies!! I tried the red bean with mochi, the black bean, and green tea. All really good - not overly sweet, a ton of filling, and a thin fresh shell. Definitely expect a wait as the owner makes them fresh and takes her time to make sure they are cooked all the way through and sealed properly so the filling doesn't spill out. There was only one party ahead of me and she was already in the process of making theirs by the time I ordered but I waited for about 30 minutes for my 3 pies. Owner was really nice and chatted with me throughout the time so it went by quickly. She even gave a free tea egg for me to try (also absolutely delicious). Would definitely recommend! Comes w a lil packet of granulated sugar and granulated-sugar-sized peanuts -- I only used half bc I don't like things too sweet! the mochi was super sticky and fun to eat and I devoured the whole container -- it has a creamy milky flavor that reminds me of Korean fresh cream cakes. only sad thing was it was refrigerated I paid $6, but fyi I think price is gonna go up soon

Found this place on TikTok and decided to give it a try. So glad I did! The milk mochi was so good, not too sweet and with a nice chewiness. I also got the matcha and tapioca wheel pie and it was pretty good too. The shop is a small stall within a food court. It's run by this super nice lady that speaks Mandarin, Cantonese, and English. I highly recommended everyone to support this small shop!

I've had these a few times when I visited Taiwan. Loved how the owner makes her taro filling only mildly sweet. My kids loved the red bean and Oreo fillings too. Owner is very sweet and happy to chat while waiting for the wheels to cook.

OMG I love this place! The owner is so nice and friendly and the taste is wonderful. I never tried milk mochi before and this one is surprising to me. It's sticky, slightly sweet and very milky. For the wheel pie, you can order either single flavor or special filling (2 flavors). There are already some combinations on the menu, but you can customize it. I chose taro with macha, and cream with tapioca which is already on the menu. The filling is sizable, and I like both of them! Still, I would recommend taro or macha as the main filling, and then choose mochi or tapioca or cheese, etc. as the second filling; otherwise, you may not be able to fully enjoy the taste of either taro or matcha like me lol. The cream one is very popular. I'm not a fan of cream, but this one is not greasy or too heavy. It's just right and very authentic.

Owner is really sweet. Milk mochi is now $8 and the pies are $1 extra and the portions are much smaller than before. Also, hours are inconsistent. There are times where I go and she's already closed before 7 PM or not open at all.

I ordered two chocolate and both of the filling were sour. Maybe it was a bad batch but I was pretty disappointed :( They also raised the prices 50 cents more, so now it's $4 each. Don't recommend the chocolate

had to come here after reading about it. kept it simple for now, got cream & black sesame. didn't get to eat them until hours later but they were still delicious despite being smushed in the bottom of my bag all day! perfect dessert snack size. cannot wait to go back & eat them while they're hot. also the lady running the stall is so sweet!! she said her favorites were taro, peanut, & tuna w/cheese so now i'm gunning to try those next time.
