02/03/2026 I was always curious what they have everytime I pass by and eat next door for pastrami sandwich. I was surprise to learn that they have all kinds of pastries. They even have "Ube" and "Pandan" cookies and other things. I was also surprised to learn than tgis place has been here since my mom was only 2 years old in 1968. So I tried their sponge cake that was covered with dark chocolate and it was very good.

Bea’s Bakery is in incredible hands with the new owners. They’ve done an amazing job preserving everything that makes Bea’s so special—the quality, authenticity, and nostalgia that longtime customers love—while also thoughtfully introducing new flavors that appeal to a newer generation’s palate. You can truly feel the care and pride that goes into this place. The bakery is always spotless and well-kept, and one of my favorite touches is the photos of the bakers on the walls. Many of them have been with Bea’s for decades, which says so much about the heart, consistency, and integrity of this bakery. It’s rare to see a business honor its roots so respectfully while still evolving, but Bea’s manages to do both beautifully. The result is a bakery that feels timeless, welcoming, and exciting all at once. A true neighborhood gem that continues to set the standard.

We stopped at Bea's Bakery before driving back to the East Contra Costa County. We used to live in W.Hills and a good friend in her 80's who lived in Studio City and frequented Beas shared how she missed their choc. cinnamon rolls. We surprised her and ordered some ahead of time. When we picked them up (we also bought a few items to snack on for our 6 hour drive) we took them to her house. Beas had boxed up the wrong items. I contacted Beas and they mailed us the correct items. My friend was in tears when she got the rolls. Bea's Bakery is amazing!!! Thank you to the manager Marissa and Mariana at Beas. Excellent customer service! The best!! I'd give them 10 stars if I could.

Always a treat to visit Bea's. The selection/variety of pastries and breads is fantastic. Everything is delicious and the customer service is over the top friendly. All of their cookies are amazing. It's hard to really pick - you just want to buy a little of everything. I highly recommend visiting Bea's for your holiday shopping as well. They have the perfect variety for a gift giving.

This is one of the best bakeries in the area. Serves every taste palette. Fresh baked breads to chocolaty sweets. You know it's good when you have to take a number!

I’ve been coming to Bea’s Bakery for years, and I’m so happy it’s still around and better than ever! This place is such a gem — a true Los Angeles classic that’s stood the test of time. The new owner has done an incredible job keeping Bea’s original recipes and traditions alive — the rye bread, challah, and cookies taste just like they always have — while adding delicious new Asian and European desserts. It still has that same warm, nostalgic charm, just with a fresh new twist that makes you want to come back even more!

I make it a point to stop in at this bakery whenever I am in town. The treats are always delicious and the staff is friendly. Also, I love the old school vibe.

This was my first time visiting Bea's Bakery, and I was genuinely impressed. I had an amazing customer service experience thanks to Logan. 10/10 will come back

Several days ago I decided to try Bea's Bakery due to their various UBE flavored desserts on their Yelp page. Bakery was busy during lunch time and one of the ladies behind the counter finally acknowledged me after a couple minutes of me perusing their selection. I decided on a slice of the ube cheesecake brownie, ube biscoff brownie, slice of cube cake and ube cookie (not pictured). Good ube favors in the brownies. I wasn't impressed with the cake and the cookie, as the density of the cookie had me thinking it was old. I'd maybe come back for both the ube brownies. Each dessert was about $5. Crowded parking lot during lunch time, but free. Casual and a bit dated bakery, with no indoor seating to enjoy a pastery.

This quaint little bakery, tucked away on the corner, smells of delicate pastries, freshly baked bread and buttery rugelach. You take a number and wait your turn, it's always bustling here. Free samples are usually on the counter. Today's sample was purple ube bread. Soft and sweet with that unmistakable ube flavor. I got chocolate rugelach, rolled pastry cookies filled with semi sweet chocolate. Perfect with a cup of coffee. Everything looked appetizing and it smelled so delicious inside. The brownies, black and white cookies I recommend, the carrot cake and cake pops as well. The lace cookies too, those are phenomenal, very rich toffee taste with that dark chocolate. Chewy and addictive. My only critique is that it's very overpriced. For 4 rugelach it was $5. They are small too. Flavor wise though, they are tasty. Just make sure what you get is fresh, the breads and pastries only last 2-3 days, especially if you cover them well.

Tried calling -- phone doesn't work. Sent an email? No response. I wanted to order cookies for a party -- guess they don't need the business.

I came here during the Halloween time to try some cookies and they did not disappoint. I would definitely come back here to try the different options. I do like that this bakery has a variety of flavors. Especially flavors I have never tried. They also provide samples occasionally of their breads which is really fun to try and taste before you purchase. I will have to come back here when I'm in the area.

In my last review, I spoke about how we were told we could freeze the butter cookies. Last night, we tried some of the frozen cookies. OMG - they were so good!!! They tasted like they had been baked that day... fresh, flavorful and crispy. It just doesn't get better than this.

It's a busy place. Not sure where to get a number or how they serve the customer. There are no prices or list of prices. All the treats look good.

Beautiful birthday cake! Loved how quick it was to order and pick up on the same day. Small was Perfect for a group of 8!

First time actually stopping into Bea's bakery but not the first time I've had their cookies. If you are in Tarzana stop by and treat yourself to a box of assorted cookies. Perfect little box you can bring to a family gathering or munch on a long road trip. Their cakes are some of the best I've had the strawberry short cake and the carrot cake are indulgent, moist and fully of flavor. If it wasn't for my self restraint I'd get a cake once a month! The service is friendly and as soon as you enter your mouth starts to water after the smell of all the pastries hit your nose.

Love Beas. Breads and pastries. Yummy goodness. Best corn rye in the city and the challah makes the best French toast

Although it's way out of my way, I always come here for thin slice rye bread, challa and other delicious baked goods. This rhyme bread is absolutely the best, and I highly recommend it.

Bea's is the absolute best bakery in all of Los Angeles. I swear that they have stolen a couple of recipes for cookies at my aunt Dorothy used to bake for me before she passed in the 90s. If you haven't been there before it is a must. The black and white cookies are to die for and their corn rye is absolutely amazing.

Bea's were always my family's favorite!! They really have a lot of good cakes and breads here. And the Ambiance is good Today it was my Wife's birthday and im buying their strawberry short cake! Anita is very helpful helping me choose the right one. Definitely a must visit shop here in Tarzana

The bakery goods are always great. I come from Whittier all the way to the bakery. I have tried many closer, but they just don't make it this time. Everything was wonderful except for they still don't make a butter cookie that's crispy chocolate chip. But it was only one place that used to make that and they don't make it anymore maybe because butter is too expensive. And their chocolate chip containers I bought a dozen and a couple of some of them were overcooked a little bit of a little bit more crunchy not as fresh feeling, but once I put them in a bag with some bread, they'll soften up more they take the moisture from the bread, the little chocolate chip burglar and cheeseburger that were wonderful, and my wife loves the cheese danish. I personally like the egg bread with sesame seed sliced normal then I make it into French toast. My mom did that and that's where I got in the habit. I guess it's to feel good thing. The service is always great there and the place is always clean at least the Friend. I've never seen the back, but the service is really friendly.

With out a doubt the best black and white cookies in America. Better than any NYC black and white I've ever had

Who doesn't love Bea's Bakery! Best cupcake in town my personal favorite is the vanilla cupcake, but make sure I get there early on a Saturday or order ahead because they definitely sell out. Also, price is extremely reasonable. And don't forget the yummy arugula and black-and-white.

I went here for the first time a while ago and it's such a nice bakery with a variety of goodies. Their bread is really delicious and their ube/pandan flavored items are amazing. The staff are nice as well

The best pastries ever and theres so many choices. I really like their cookies and horns. The customer service is good and the atmosphere is super cozy.

The treats here are so good. Got the ube rice krispy treat (this was hard to decide because of how many ube goodies there were lol) and a small box of the pandan cookies. Both were phenomenal. The displays are easy to navigate and read, the air is welcoming, and I came out of there wanting to come back. Bonus that they're open as late as they are in an area where a lot of bakeries/donut shops close before 2pm.

Walked in to get a birthday cake and the girl behind the counter did not welcome us in or asked what we were looking for and the rest of the male staff was just hanging out She acted very unfriendly I don't know if I would come back to this bakery

I went to Bea's on a recommendation.....they had boxed cookies so decided on that since the cookies on display looked the same.....bad choice! The boxed cookies tasted old and no flavor. Lesson learned don't get boxed anything at a bakery, who knows how long they have been sitting there.

Save Yourself the Disappointment - Skip Bea's Bakery! I can't even explain how unbelievably bad this experience was. We ordered what was supposed to be a special cake for my mom's birthday, and it turned out to be the biggest letdown. First red flag: the cake came out plain. No flowers, no decoration--just sad and bare. When my niece brought it up, they brushed her off and said there was nothing they could do. Then, they had the nerve to charge her an extra $6 for some tiny, half-hearted flowers that looked like they were just painted on. Completely cheap and insulting. But it got worse. When we cut into the cake, the filling was supposed to be fresh raspberries instead, it was this awful jelly-like goop that tasted artificial and slimy. The cake itself literally fell apart. Honestly, it was the worst cake our family has ever had from Bea's, and we've been coming here for over 20 years. Something has clearly changed, ownership, management, or just pure neglect, but Bea's Bakery has gone downhill fast. This was a milestone birthday, and they ruined it with garbage-quality product and zero accountability. If you're thinking about ordering here, don't do it. There are plenty of bakeries that still care about their craft and their customers. Bea's is NOT one of them anymore. Trust me--save your money, save your event, and go anywhere else.

Bea's Bakery has been around for so long and has always been great. There is a big selection of pastries and cakes which my family have then indulging in. If you live in the surrounding area, it's worth stopping in.

Always the best service and most delicious sweets! Our family had been coming here for decades for birthdays and even morning fresh bread.

Specifically came for the Poppyseed Strudel, had called in advance to ensure that it was baked that morning. Unfortunately it was so stale and dry that the poppyseed literally sucked any saliva out of my mouth ‍. Very disappointing knowing that I spend about $12 on the strudel, had a small piece and discarded the rest. The Almond Horn was decent when warmed up a bit.

My go-to bakery for cake, and any other baked goods and desserts. Always guaranteed to be delicious!

I have been coming here since I was a kid and they baked good and customer service has always been amazing!

It's very crowded and you need to grab a number and wait for service. Parking felt limited so I parked across the street and walked over. Service was friendly but due to them being so busy, I saw some angry customers who were rude because they got impatient. I got a sugarfree cake and it was dry. This place came highly recommended so I felt disappointed. However, I picked up a box of cookies for someone and they said it was delicious. Soooo maybe it was an off day for whoever made the cake? Because this place was iin such high demand, I'm wondering if the dry cake was just a one off. They have pandan flavored desserts here which is rare!

Bea's bakery is amazing! The staff is so kind and helpful- especially when you come with kids. Their prices are so reasonable and everything I've ever gotten has been wonderful tasting. They have an assortment of fresh pastries and breads (even fresh Challah on shabbat) and have cakes and other things if you wanted them. They get pretty busy but are great at working through the line quickly.

Bea's Bakery on Clark Street, in Tarzana, is a "must go", if you like cookies and breads. There is a variety here and it also includes cakes and pastries. The difficult part here is, what do I choose, because everything looks so good? I was here to pick up stuff to take home and try out. So, I chose something, colorful and in a small quantity. Just 4 pieces of the holiday cookies and 1 piece each of the mini hamataschens (see my pictures). The counter server kept asking me if that was all, several times. Most patrons were leaving with big bags. LOL. While all the cookies were well prepared, not too sweet and flavorful, I do have a favorite (even though my sample size is small). It was the rectangular holiday cookies that had both of the flavorings (apricot and berry?) in one cookie. The piece had attractive optics. It also had the perfect blend of taste, chew and texture. Service was hurried. There was constant foot traffic. Another good bakery find. Give the place a visit and let me know what you think.

Customer service has gone completely 100% DOWN HILL!!! Spoke with Nico & he sounded completely new. I ordered a Hamburger Cake & he didn't ask me what kind of frosting or what kind of filling I wanted. He asked for my credit card number, which I did NOT give him. I asked for a manager & got Mariana. I told her all of this & she said Nico was not new & what I'm telling her doesn't matter!! WHAT!!! WTF?!?!!!!!! I've been going there 33 years plus!! Never again!!! They can their crummy customer service and stick it up there where the sun doesn't shine!!! Y'all lost a good customer. We will be going to Gelsons from now on!!!

I gather that Bea's Bakery is considered tops by those in the know. So, I gave it a whirl because who is more in the know than I? Everyone who is anyone knows that I am in the know. Go know. Anyway, where was I? Oh yea, Bea's Bakery. I had a craving for a chocolate chip muffin and so I got one of those, a cherry pastry Danish thing, and a slice of their seven layer cake. The muffin was excellent, but cherry pastry Danish thing was very good, and the seven layer cake thing was also very good. I've now ordered from there twice and shall be ordering from there again and I don't care who knows it. Well, those in the know will know it. If you like baked goods, and who doesn't, give Bea's a try.

Great bakery! Delicious options. Breads, cookies, cakes. Sweets, Etc. service was quick and easy. You take a number ticket when you arrive and wait for your number to be called. I love the cookies so came for a small treat. It was a busy afternoon of customers but the wait was short. The aroma of smells filled the air. And intensified the cravings. Try this place. You won't be disappointed!

Best bakery in LA! Anita was so helpful and love the dodger blue cookies! Make a stop here everytime we are driving through to Santa Barbara.

I can not say enough positives! The baked goods are so good! The prices are super decent and the ease of ordering online can't be matched! It's hard to not spend tons of money in here!

Well, Lenny, maybe '3 to 4 projects at a time' isn't the best idea. Are you trying to run Bea's into the ground. I have been going to Bea's since 15, I'm now 71. I go to Bea's every time I visit my mom. I also buy loaves of rye, rugelach, and pastries for my neighbors in San Diego. I have defended the small downward quality in your bakery products since you added Bea's to your repertoire. Well, yesterday I was in shock. Not one previous worker was there. The rye did not even look the same. The pastries looked dry, cakes poorly decorated. I did not spend the $80-100 as I normally did. I bought one lonely rye for my mother. Ditch the ube crackle cookies sprawled on the countertop. Go back to the quality of the past 55 years of quality or sell Bea's to someone who cares. You don't.
