We got married at Bea’s in February 2021. Our original venue was not clear on how they would host our small wedding during the pandemic and I thought we would have to call it all off. Then we found Bea’s on google. I got a phone call the next day after sending in my inquiry and the date that we had planned was still available and the rest is history! Connor and I set up zoom calls, phone calls and any other forms of communication to make sure our day was exactly what we were hoping for. We opted for their smaller wedding package (without dinner) and our guests are STILL talking about how great and filling the strolling appetizers were. I know I’m writing this review late in the game but it’s because we’ve attended other weddings since ours and after the last one we realized how exceptional our experience as the bride and groom were: our day of coordinators made sure everything ran on time but still let us enjoy our day. There are many photos of us enjoying each other’s company, unposed, without anyone around us (because even in our short 2 hour time frame we still were able to create lasting memories between us instead of running around all night). Bea’s really is the place to be! I’d recommend ANYONE to host their wedding or event there and support such a wonderful business!

My now husband and I chose Bea's for the location of our mini wedding ceremony and could not be happier with the decision! The rooftop was an absolutely beautiful setting that provided great views all around. Bea was also a great officiant. She was very kind and well spoken for the ceremony. From a planning perspective, we couldn't have asked for better! Bea's handled everything. The officiant, flowers, cake, appetizers, drinks, music, and more were all taken care of and Connar was there every step of the way to answer any questions. Overall, if you're looking for a nice place to celebrate in Detroit, stop by Bea's.

Working with Bea & Connar at Bea's Detroit to plan our tiny wedding was an A+ experience! We're so grateful to have found them and would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a unique space and superstar vendors to host their event. While planning our wedding out-of-state, Connar was extremely easy to work with throughout the entire planning process, and she made sure that every last detail was in place the on the big day so that the ceremony and reception went off without a hitch. Bea did a wonderful job at officiating our ceremony and thought of all the details to make it heartfelt and beautiful. The rooftop space is truly one-of-a-kind and was the perfect location for our intimate, sunset rooftop wedding overlooking the eastern market. Thank you Bea's for going above and beyond to make our day one to remember! [Photo Credit: Justine Castle Photography]

Amazing Coffee. Best Ambiance. Simple, decent and different order method. Definitely going into Top 5 Coffee places in Detroit Metropolitan Area. P.S. Also, don’t miss out their dynamic Instagram counter at the corner.

We do our monthly women's entrepreneur meetings here and it's such a good experience. Their products like the lemonade and coffee adventure are so good. Pure, whole ingredients. Their flavor combinations are in point. Bea herself is so kind and nice and the space is excellent for small-moderately sized events. Highly recommend.

When my daughter picked Bea's Detroit as her wedding venue, I was a bit worried on how a little coffee shop would be for a wedding. All my worries were put to rest the moment I entered Bea's and met Connar the wedding coordinator, what a jewel she is. From the moment we had our first meeting to the day of the wedding she stepped us through it all. She made sure my daughter had the wedding of her dreams, even during this crazy covid time. The wedding may of been a "tiny wedding" but it really wasn't at all, it was pure magic how they transformed the rooftop. Thank Bea's Detroit , Connar and your complete team!! Job well done!

The lemonade was a lil too sweet for my taste and too taangy also, but i would like to try it in a cocktail. I tried the nutmeg cardamom coffee as well. It was yumm, innovative flavor but i personally prefer my coffee without sugar but this was sweet enough. I do like the way you place your order, and the option to customize your drinks. They have limited food options to go with your drink. (I would have preferred a cafe with fresh baked croissant or some kind of bread , esp with sweeter flavors) Not to miss , they do have space for wedding parties and it’s beautifully setup.

YOU GUYS! I am a COVID-19 bride (now wife) and I cannot express how pleased I was with my wedding at Bea's! I wasn't sure what I was going to do when the world shifted and all my plans were dashed, but Bea's knew exactly what to do! They created a beautiful, intimate space for the celebration of our marriage and I am so, so very grateful. Their venue is perfect and their staff is so attentive and kind. They took care of all the "heavy lifting" for us and provided a package that was elegant, but wonderfully carefree for our big day! They were easy to communicate with and they helped me make changes on the fly to accommodate my guests and vision. I cannot say enough about how great Bea's is! I only wish I lived a little closer so I could enjoy it more often!

Yelp
It's got the vibes of a trendy coffee shop with words in neon lights over top an indoor window. They're supposed to be a Build-Your-Own coffee/hot chocolate concept. But aren't all drinks at coffee shops technically build your own? Anywho, the one cool thing was getting to choose your own garnish. You can add a candy cane, miniature donut, etc. I got a cortado with winter mint. I wanted the salted Carmel rosemary but it's not vegan, sadly. They pull their espresso shots at 25 seconds, for all you coffee snobs who are like me and needed to know that. My sister tried the hot chocolate and added marshmallows as her garnish. Such a lovely looking drink! And it was delicious too! It's a cute place. They don't have tons of seating but it was very cold that day and they weren't all that busy.

Yelp
This coffee shop is aesthetic goals without doing too much and so big and airy, I'm absolutely obsessed! I love that you can go on an adventure and customize your own drinks, I am obsessed with the lemonade that they make themselves, basically everything is WONDERFUL here. This is a great event space too and I would seriously consider hosting a gorgeous event here in the future! I love it all and only wished I lived closer to Bea's on a regular basis so I could live out those working all day in a coffee shop dreams here!

Heather L.

Yelp
I'm so happy to have found this cute coffee/hot chocolate shop by Eastern Market (1 block down from the corner where Vivio's is). It's a beautiful space with large windows so it is light and airy too. I had a cinnamon orange hot chocolate with oat milk (I love the build your own drink menu) and sat right next to the windows to warm up on a chilly market morning. I look forward to checking them out at Cadillac Lodge this holiday season too!

Yelp
What a great find this was today! I came down to Sunday market and was killing time walking around until the brewery opened and I found this new (to me) cafe! The latte was fabulous and so were the energy balls.. (needed to eat some solid food before brewery/noon!) It has a great vibe with some local goods for sale on the wall, small carry away food section and a few small tables out front There's also some business going on in here with event space and music making of some sort. What a great addition to the market!

Yelp
What a delightful place! My sister and I stumbled across Bea's while walking around the Eastern Market area. Neither of us had heard of it, but we decided to give it a try. And I am so glad we did! Bea's definitely stands out in the market. Most of the buildings around it have that same Eastern Market/old factory look to them, but Bea's is painted bright white with black accents. You can't miss it! Inside, the cafe is very clean, modern, and inviting. They have a back room that is beautiful decorated with flowers, paintings, and lovely light fixtures. This space clearly seems to be used for events like weddings, but you can still have a look inside. The concept behind Bea's is to design your own drink. You do this by filling out a order sheet that is located right when you walk in the door. You can choose from coffee, lemonade, or soda as your base, and there are several flavor options available. The staff was very friendly and gave us suggestions to try (we were a bit overwhelmed at first!). There are also plain versions of the drinks available if you aren't feeling so adventurous. Our drinks were very delicious and refreshing on the warm summer day! We especially liked the flower infused ice cubes that we added. They were so adorable. Overall, we were very happy with our trip to Bea's and will return the next time we visit the Eastern Market. Definitely give this place a visit!

Yelp
Beeea's, you're doing too much, girl. This is such a cute place, the drinks are pretty good, and the baristas are *always* so nice - it is worth a visit. I appreciate the hustle at Bea's and recognize that, especially in an area like EM that is only bustling on the weekends, businesses might need to find multiple streams of income and try new things. They're doing this wonderfully by having a cafe, coworking, and gorgeous weddings. But it can be a little confusing (for example, who is allowed on the rooftop and when?), and the endless options seem like they aren't fine tuned. Bea's has been open for a little over a year and have had at least four menu roll outs that were all pretty different from one another. Bea's does a lot of things really well, and I wish it would stick to them! The coffee excursion concept is a good example of this and is what got me to come adjust my review. It just seems unnecessary, and I heard the woman behind me comment the same. I would prefer to have options on a board and pick off of that. Also, I tried to order a new syrup in a regular drink and I don't think that is really an option, which confused me.

Yelp
This is my 3rd time coming to Bea's. I loved the original menu before the "adventure" menu. I guess it's not what I'm used to but it's fun for the Eastern Market! My con is that sometimes I feel like it's too much to choose from and I get slight anxiety from all the options. I love the concept but I probably wouldn't come here as a regular. Only if I'm feeling adventurous or showing people around Detroit.

Yelp
Came in for a lovely cup of coffee just before close on Friday. It's a great spot with super bright, southern windows, tall ceilings, and a cozy, yet industrial ambience-- the sort of stock coffee shop aesthetic, but with a uniquely Eastern Market vibe. Baked goods looked awesome but I am trying to rectify that rona-induced weight loss and so I skipped this time.

Saadia A.

Yelp
I am so sad Bea's is no more. They were probably the best coffee shop in the city. The friendliest staff with the most amazing coffee. A beautiful and inviting space to have a cup or host an event. I hope one day they're able to open again soon; I will miss them immensely!

Stephanie B.

Yelp
I enjoy going to Beas any time I'm at Eastern Market because I love the varieties of flavors. Today I tried the Salted Caramel Rosemary syrup. It was okay, wished it was a little sweeter, but the Rosemary as super overpowering. Love the atmosphere though!

Yelp
Bea's is a cute shop with pretty wall art and a beautiful flower installation hanging from the ceiling, but I got a weird vibe from the staff. We walked in and headed straight to the cash register, but the guy there ignored me and kept doing something with the machine. I thought maybe it was because I wasn't wearing my mask (half of the staff had one on, half didn't), so I put my mask on. Stood there for a few minutes and another guy eventually came and took our order. I ordered an iced mocha latte with oat milk, paid, and waited at a table not far from where the drinks come out. They placed a drink on the bar but it looked like a regular iced latte (mochas are usually much darker). No one said my name or order but this cup just sat there for a while so I went there to ask if it was the iced mocha. The girl said yes, I asked about the mocha part and she said they don't actually have mocha or chocolate sauce but that it's a cacao syrup. That's not what I ordered technically but I didn't want to be difficult so I decided to just drink it. It wasn't bad but it definitely wasn't a mocha latte lol. Anyway, my issue here isn't the drink but the customer service. I think I waited and was staring at them and the bar area somewhere between 5 and 10 minutes and the staff just kept looking at me when my drink was sitting there; it was a weird experience and I feel like I would've told my customer that was their drink if I saw them waiting for a while. My friend liked her frozen lemonade, though!

Yelp
I had an eventful day in the market and made plans to meet up with a friend who lives locally. He suggested Bea's for a great cup of java and convenient location. What a cool spot! Being a Saturday, the market can get pretty busy and with restaurants just opening up at 25% capacity, it can be challenging to find a spot to relax and catch up. It was a chilly day but the sun shining through the large glass windows warmed me up. We both ordered coffee...I enjoyed the Hug in a Mug, it was delish, and he ordered Burning Love; he kept raving about it. Both of these can be found on their specialty drink menu. Baristas impress me; they know how to make the perfect froth. There is so much TLC in a single cup of coffee. I received an expresso/cappuccino maker for my birthday, and I LOVE it, but I need to learn some technique. Believe it or not....this takes skill, people! lol If you happen to be in the area, grab a cup of joe from Bea's and venture out on a murals' tour. Trust me....you will love the entire Eastern Market experience.

Yelp
Such a cute place with variety of drinks and flavors. Plenty of seating with large windows. Parking is a little difficult to find.

Yelp
Wow! Stumbled on this while at the Eastern Market. What a gem! Amazing lemonade and treats. Great and friendly service, very welcoming place. Got to meet Bea and her husband Eli and have a tour of their private event space. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Our new coffee go-to place in Eastern Market. Grwt space and coffee. Super nice staff. Just hoping as business gets busier they will add more food choices. (I'm conflicted because as a downtown resident I want to keep this place a secret!)

Margot E.

Yelp
Genuinely the worst coffee I've had in Detroit. Very disappointed. It tasted like mud, I couldn't even drink it. If you're in Eastern Market, just go support the coffee booth in one of the sheds

Yelp
I have beautiful memories of my wedding here at Bea's. It was a beautiful and fun wedding. However, we ultimately did not get some of the aspects that were supposed to be included in our package. Throughout the planning process, Connor was amazing and quick at communicating. The day of the wedding, when it was time for my walk, I asked the coordinator where my bouquet was (part of my package). She was very confused, didn't know that I was supposed to have a bouquet supplied by Beas. She went to look for it. She hands me a very simple flower arrangement (it was actually plucked out of the arrangements that my sisters brought in). It was even dripping water at the bottom. It was time for me to walk so I didn't think much of it at the time. That's what I walked down the aisle with. After the ceremony was over, the coordinator walks up to me her apologetically with my actual bouquet. Another aspect of our package was the champagne toast. We were told that the guests would all be served their champagne. However, the toast was announced and none of the guests had theirs. All The glasses were still at the bar, so many guests were holding up imaginary glasses or whatever cocktail they had already been drinking. A photo booth was also part of our package and it wasn't there. Bea was there and she did provide us extra time due to the bouquet mixup. My guests loved the wedding regardless and had a great time, however we as the bride and groom do not feel like we got entirely what we paid for. I sent an email afterward voicing my complaints about what went amiss but I never received a reply.

Yelp
Such a beautiful & unique cafe experience in Eastern Market! Charming atmosphere & creative drink options with lemonade, coffee, and soda drinks. Also, the cutest event venue ever.

Lashelle Nicole V.

Yelp
Amazing business! The staff and owners are very friendly, and very great coffee! Very unique compared to other coffee shops.

Grant B.

Yelp
An emerging hidden gem! We got a couple bottles of lemonade to go and drank some custom coffee drinks inside-- I recommend the vanilla latte. :) The owners were present and very kind to us for our stay, we will be back on market day!

Kristen R.

Yelp
Made a trip to Bea's after seeing it pop up on several things related to the Eastern Market. I like to read Yelp reviews before visiting places I'm not familiar with and it seemed like a place I would enjoy. The building is super cute and the coffees were really good. Unfortunately the reviews about the staff being friendly did not hold up. The barista seemed easily overwhelmed even though there were only 2 to 3 other patrons and she also became irritated and short when asked any questions. Perhaps she was just having a bad day and I wouldn't let her foul vibe stop me from visiting again.

Brittany H.

Yelp
Super cool space & great location. Kind of off in the cut! The coffee line is inefficient & you use too much paper. It's ecologically irresponsible sorry had to say it, go paper less & fix the set up of the line- add clarity for organization and its perf

Yelp
Bea's Detroit is the perfect place to grab a coffee and scone! Delish!!! The staff is incredibly welcoming and it is the best setting to collect your thoughts and get a little work done if need be. Thank you for providing this amazing space to our community!!!

Yelp
Friendly staff, great drinks and scones that are TO DIE FOR! Also, a great spot to study or work on your laptop with lots of natural lighting. Highly recommend you check this place out!

Yelp
Great Space! The Populace Coffee is super good. Polite staff and a welcoming atmosphere. Easy to sit and get some work done during the week. Great spot to get a treat after hitting up the market on Saturday mornings!

Katie C.

Yelp
Bea's is great. I've been several times and am never disappointed. The coffee is so good and the staff are always kind and attentive. The space is attractive and I could see myself spending time there studying. I can't wait to try their lemonade stand on the Dequindre Cut this summer. Highly recommend!

Bryan B.

Yelp
Cozy yet industrial ambiance. Come for the coffee and space, stay for the vibes and other amenities!

Yelp
Loved the unique coffee concept. You get to circle all of the things you want and design your own latte. Super fun and a great experience!

Yelp
Found this great new place while visiting Eastern Market. Tasty pastries and specialty drinks. We'll definitely be back.
