The 22 Best Vegan Restaurants In London - London - The Infatuation

"Beaten By A Whisker says their cakes and bakes have been designed to be ‘imperceptibly’ vegan, and you only need one bite of their oversized, sticky cinnamon bun to know that they’re completely right. The small-batch bakery in Walthamstow makes delicious loaves of focaccia with big, peek-a-boo air pockets and their dark chocolate and hazelnut cookie—with pools of slightly-melting chocolate and a perfectly crispy outer layer that becomes soft and gooey—is one of the best cookies in London." - jake missing, rianne shlebak, daisy meager, sinead cranna

6 Cold Drinks That Are Better Than A Basic Iced Latte - London - The Infatuation

"Sometimes you want an iced latte to have a bit of complexity and not kick you in the face with coffee. Beaten By A Whisker, a Walthamstow bakery and cafe, does an iced peanut latte that delivers a gentle caffeine hit—it has one shot of coffee. They use the same sweet peanut caramel in their bakes. They also use a light, gently frothed oat milk base that doesn't result in a silly little stomach ache." - rianne shlebak, sinead cranna

The 9 Best Cookies In London

"Cookie of choice: dark chocolate and hazelnut Beaten By A Whisker’s soft, gooey cookie is one that will appeal to chewy-texture people. There’s a little bit of a crust, but really it’s barely there, and only just holding in the seriously rich dark chocolate and pieces of savoury hazelnuts that are in each bite. This Walthamstow bakery’s cookie also had some of the best salt levels—enough to balance the chocolate, but doesn’t make you feel like a snail under attack. " - rianne shlebak, sinead cranna, heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, daisy meager

Beaten By A Whisker - Review - Walthamstow - London - The Infatuation

"Beaten By A Whisker, a small-batch bakery, is a proper community spot—one with people chatting in the queue and an earthy colour palette that makes your morning worthy of photographing. Get the oversized cinnamon bun (our favourite flavour is hazelnut) which is so sticky you’ll need to pry it off your plate. The loaves of focaccia are also fantastic, with big, peek-a-boo air pockets and just the right amount of oil. But if you only get one thing at this Walthamstow spot, make it the dark chocolate and hazelnut cookie. It’s one of the best cookies in London, with pools of slightly-melting chocolate and a perfectly crispy outer layer that becomes soft and gooey. Much like us after one mouthful." - Sinéad Cranna

Unexpected find that was wonderful. Super soft and tasty focaccia and incredible chai carrot cake. Comforting and delicious food on a cold day in a warm and wholesome feeling place. It doesn’t get better. Thoroughly recommend. Chatted to Maddy from the bakery/kitchen which was lovely too.

I heard this place is well known for its bread and pastry — and it did not disappoint! I had the tomato focaccia, which was soooo good — soft, moist, and full of flavor. The gluten-free banana bread was also tasty and surprisingly soft, though a bit sweet for my taste. The cinnamon bun was just okay for me — a little dry and quite sweet. But the mushroom sausage roll? Delicious! Sadly, they were out of sourdough that day, so I guess I’ll have to come back again soon. 😄 The café was quite crowded (I went on a Sunday), but the vibe was still really nice and cozy. Definitely a spot worth visiting for pastry lovers!

Absolutely fantastic! Peanut latte, incredible. Hazelnut hot chocolate, delicious. Butternut squash tart, to die for! Spinach and feta parcel, perfectly cooked. This place is so good, with friendly and welcoming staff and a nice, cosy feel. Highly recommended!

Love this place, an all vegan bakery. My boyfriend and I are regular visitors as every bake is just amazing & the coffee is always good. It’s always buzzing and busy which is testament to how great the food is. Seating is limited, but try to grab a seat outside on a warm day if you can.

Excellent! Friendly staff and really tasty vegan treats. We got 3 savoury items and they were all delicious. Great coffee too. Will definitely be back.

Google
Everything about this place makes it my favorite bakery. From the incredible people working front of house, always welcoming you with a smile, to the INSANE sandwiches that, while they differ week to week are consistently delicious- beaten by a whisker does it better than anyone. If you are anywhere near the area, check it out - do yourself a favor with a purchase of a Cardamon bun or a latte or literally anything they sell because, trust me, you can’t go wrong. I’ve never felt so strongly to leave a review on a place but this one deserves it.

Google
I travelled an hour across London just to visit this place and it was without a doubt worth it! The place itself is beautifully done out with its minimalist decor and open kitchen and is obviously very popular as it had a queue out the door when I visited The food itself is out of this world. I hate it when people say ‘I can’t believe this is vegan’ as if to say vegan food can’t taste good but honestly with every bite this was what I was thinking. I had a tomato & cheese focaccia to eat in and a pistachio bun and brownie to take away. Everything was absolutely delicious and I think the brownie may be one of the best I have ever had! I definitely can’t wait to return!

The sandwich is the best i’ve ever had before. The cost is really worth it even not pricey. I’ll definitely visit again
