7 Cold Drinks That Are Better Than A Basic Iced Latte

"Iced Peanut Latte Sometimes you want an iced latte to have a bit of complexity and not kick you in the face with coffee. Beaten By A Whisker, a Walthamstow bakery and cafe, does an iced peanut latte that delivers a gentle caffeine hit—it has one shot of coffee—and background notes of sweetness. They use the same peanut caramel in their bakes. They also use a light, gently frothed oat milk base that doesn't result in a silly little stomach ache." - rianne shlebak, sinead cranna

The 9 Best Cookies In London

"Cookie of choice: dark chocolate and hazelnut Beaten By A Whisker’s soft, gooey cookie is one that will appeal to chewy-texture people. There’s a little bit of a crust, but really it’s barely there, and only just holding in the seriously rich dark chocolate and pieces of savoury hazelnuts that are in each bite. This Walthamstow bakery’s cookie also had some of the best salt levels—enough to balance the chocolate, but doesn’t make you feel like a snail under attack. " - rianne shlebak, sinead cranna, heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, daisy meager

Beaten By A Whisker - Review - Walthamstow - London - The Infatuation

"Beaten By A Whisker, a small-batch bakery, is a proper community spot—one with people chatting in the queue and an earthy colour palette that makes your morning worthy of photographing. Get the oversized cinnamon bun (our favourite flavour is hazelnut) which is so sticky you’ll need to pry it off your plate. The loaves of focaccia are also fantastic, with big, peek-a-boo air pockets and just the right amount of oil. But if you only get one thing at this Walthamstow spot, make it the dark chocolate and hazelnut cookie. It’s one of the best cookies in London, with pools of slightly-melting chocolate and a perfectly crispy outer layer that becomes soft and gooey. Much like us after one mouthful." - Sinéad Cranna

Love this place, an all vegan bakery. My boyfriend and I are regular visitors as every bake is just amazing & the coffee is always good. It’s always buzzing and busy which is testament to how great the food is. Seating is limited, but try to grab a seat outside on a warm day if you can.

10 out of 10. This must be the best bakery I've tried in Walthamstow. Their cheesecake, cinnamon bun and actually everything else we had was supreme. Their chai latte and americano were also great but the star of the show are the pastries and bread. Can't wait to come back.

A cute little bakery I stumbled upon while out for a walk with my laptop. The staff were friendly, the coffee was solid, and the cinnamon bun was fresh and tasty. The space is quite small, though, so it can feel a bit cramped, especially when it's busy with parents and kids. That said, I managed to stay for a couple of hours and get some work done with my laptop, which was nice. The sunny weather helped too, as the place gets a lot of light. Overall, it's a good spot if you're in the area.

I travelled an hour across London just to visit this place and it was without a doubt worth it! The place itself is beautifully done out with its minimalist decor and open kitchen and is obviously very popular as it had a queue out the door when I visited The food itself is out of this world. I hate it when people say ‘I can’t believe this is vegan’ as if to say vegan food can’t taste good but honestly with every bite this was what I was thinking. I had a tomato & cheese focaccia to eat in and a pistachio bun and brownie to take away. Everything was absolutely delicious and I think the brownie may be one of the best I have ever had! I definitely can’t wait to return!

The cafe was cute and contained many pastries both sweet and salty. Tart is sour and salty, not really my taste.

A delightful bakery and cafe. The food is exceptional. Tasty and inventive, with an often changing roster of flavours. The staff are lovely helpful and engaging. It's a really nice space inside, with limited seating downstairs but nice and cosy seating upstairs. Highly recommend this place. It's often busy because it's so great.

Everything Beaten by a Whisker makes has so much thought behind it and that is obvious with every bite you take of their food. From gloriously pillowy cardamom buns, chewy cookies, decadent brownies and a large array of loaf cakes with ever-changing flavours, you will struggle to leave disappointed. A very wholesome neighbourhood cafe and bakery where everything is fresh, tasty and utilises vegetables and fruits in exciting ways. I’m yet to try their bread but I’ve heard very good things. Contrary to what some reviews say, I find the staff to be absolutely delightful, friendly and talkative even though I’m not a regular. They’ve also just started selling granola bowls and you MUST try it!! So delicious. P.s. these photos are from my most recent visit but I’ve been a few times now and tried quite a few bakes.
