Honestly I would give this provider no stars if it was an option. I was very disappointed with our first visit. When we spoke on the phone, I was very explicit to her about my philosophy on parenting: Conscious Parenting. To recognize the innate potential, ability and connectedness children are born with, and our work as parents is to minimize our interference as a result of our issues to get on their way to realize them.
That children psychotherapy is most of the time about becoming aware of how parents contribute unconsciously to the pain and struggles our children experience, and how by becoming aware of it, and working on our unresolved issues and incomplete growth we can eliminate them, and the pain they caused on our children when we don't own them and perpetuate the toxic pattern. She agreed on the phone. However, when we met, she distanced herself from it, and showed a evident inability to show support, understanding and straightforwardness to advocate for David. It was more of the same: "let's fix the kids, so the parents can be comfortable and not be disrupted by the lessons about us that our children innocently exposed in an attempt to invite us to connect with them". I felt my son was not her client but whom was writing the check or perhaps her own unresolved biases and incomplete work. I am glad I was able to articulate that, acknowledge it and respond accordingly, so he doesn't have to also experience other's unresolved issue as he continues to try to get his voice heard. Very sad. I don't recommend her and think she is not consistent with her feedback and support.
