The 15 Best (And Worst) Foods At SoFi Stadium - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Location: Level 2, Sandwich Stand, Section 103 Unfortunately, nearly all of the sandwiches at SoFi come on the same puffy oversized roll, which is chewy enough to make your jaw hurt and dry enough to rob you of saliva. We thought the cornmeal-crusted shrimp in this hulking po’ boy might help the situation, but those salty, soggy fried crustaceans were just as disappointing. Skip." - brant cox, garrett snyder, sylvio martins

Full house when we came but worth the long wait but we weren’t in a hurry. Only one server and food took a while, but still a five for us! Food was fabulous, wish we lived closer to try more menu items! Will definitely be back if we ever make it back to this area on a future trip. Server was really sweet and doing her best.

OMG!! I ate every morsel on my plate. The gumbo was so good. The fried chicken perfect. Coming from a southern man, it made me miss home cooking. We will definitely be back. Service was spectacular. Definitely an A+ restaurant.

Google
A hidden gem! The hush puppies were delicious and different! A great portion and very well affordable. The service was great and she did not disappoint on what was recommended. Definitely will be one of my favorite eat spots. The atmosphere gives you a big restaurant feel with a small neighborhood everybody knows everyone feel. I had shrimp, cod, tilapia, fries, and slaw.

Google
Food was alright, I ordered online pick up and then paid in person. They charged me $2 more for the same item, plus a $0.75 pick up fee and a $1 for a "custom item" - mind you, nothing was customized. Server was incredibly nice. I just don't feel like the food is worth $31 after tax and tip.. It feels predatory to charge $3.75 more than listed on your website and charge a pick up fee + a custom item fee when nothing was customized. I do not plan to return here

Google
First time here and I will be back! The hush puppies were moist, crunchy and full of flavor. The halibut was a bit over done but still very good and they make the BEST tartar sauce I have ever had. The coleslaw was juicy and perfect! I also had the strawberry lemonade and it was the perfect ratio of sweet/tart and the fresh strawberries were a pleasant surprise. The server was so sweet and attentive and the music was nice too. Wishing for more hush puppies right now!

Google
Such good food. Have done takeout and usually get the catfish basket but ate in and got the surf and turf with some fried pickles. Service was kind and quick! Leaving with a full and happy stomach!

Google
This is the best out to eat experience I’ve had in so long. It felt like I was eating at family’s house. It’s a cold November day and it was nice and warm inside. It’s so clean in here. I notice everything and even all the condiments were clean. There’s no dust anywhere visible and despite being a place where fried seafood is served you don’t get the fryer scent in the restaurant which is great in my opinion. The service is top tier. Every dish was HOT. Everything was seasoned perfectly (without being salty). I wanted to try one of everything but I’ll be back again because this is definitely going in the rotation of places I treat myself & family to. I have nothing but great things to say. The shrimp and crawfih étouffée is delicious! The portions are perfect. The fried corn was so good! I cannot wait to go back.

Google
I should have looked in my bag before leaving and making it home. I thought I ordered gumbo but not sure what I got. 1shrimp, sausage and chicken. I don’t maybe I missed something. Broth had flavor other than from where I’m from I can’t call it gumbo. Maybe sausage soup?

Tracy W.

Yelp
The food was AMAZING! fries were seasoned well, coleslaw was just creamy enough and very refreshing. The hush puppies were delicious. The shrimp and grits were the best I've had since leaving the south many years ago. The service was fantastic and friendly. In a nutshell this darling eatery should not be missed when passing by. It only has 7 tables and a few bar stools to sit down to eat, but this lunch spot is a hidden gem. You will amazed by the portions, flavors and choice of music in this humble abode.

Yelp
We were blown away! My family comes from the south, and I haven't had a meal so close to home ever here in Washington. We stumbled on this place after hiking in Olympia next to the beach, and suddenly craving fish and chips. To be so lucky to find a place so great was a real treat. This black owned business catered to an ambience that was casual and inviting. We were immediately greeted with a smile and invited to seat ourselves before they brought us a menu. Our server was kind, and answered any and all questions with a happy heart. We had... the large catfish basket, gumbo, collards, fried okra, coleslaw, and hush puppies. The catfish was generous and had a salty, perfectly crisp breading. The collards were a salty brine with vinegar, with what I assumed was a turkey leg/meat base. The hush puppies were large and hot, paired with a creamy, and slightly sweet coleslaw. The gumbo felt right at home, with a strong roux accompanied by all the right components! *Refraining from revealing every little detail so you can go ahead and try yourself ;) The spot is clearly popular, as we sat with a full house, surrounded by families, couples and singles picking up To-go order after To-go order. It was clean, family friendly, and inviting. Plenty of light chatter, laughter and great music. Sending anyone and everyone to try out this little slice of heaven. We can't wait to return sooner than later ;)

Yelp
At the recommendation of a friend, my good buddy wanted to surprise me with this place this Saturday. We arrived 10 minutes to 5pm, just at the end of the afternoon break. When the owner and staff arrived there were 6 customers waiting to enter, a good sign. This is an 18 year old black owned business that is very customer friendly to everyone. It's cajun-oriented cuisine, with lots of choices. My buddy and I both irdered the large cod basket. It came with 3 generous sized pieces of cod, homemade coleslaw, 2 large hush puppies and French fries. It has been my experience that restaurant fish and chips are usually undersized, over battered and over cooked. Not so at Beau Legs Fish & Chips. This was an over the top dining experience. Both my buddy and I will be back many times. Oh, the prices are very fair, too. I hesitate to write this glowing review, because the place was packed with customers and you will only make it worse. Cheers!!!

Yelp
2nd time visiting this place and they didn't disappoint! There was no wait when we arrived so we got to sit down immediately. Our waitress was great and personable. They had some specials for the day that sounded really good but we decided to just stick with their usual menu options. I got the Catfish and Shrimp Basket and my husband got the Surf & Turf. Their catfish is always great and well seasoned, and I loved the shrimp (breaded in panko and deep fried). Their coleslaw is made sweet (personally, I don't like sweet coleslaw) but it was not too bad. Their fries are perfectly fried and lightly seasoned with Cajun seasoning. My husband enjoyed his meal as well, though he became a bit regretful and wished he ordered one of the specials haha. Definitely will return here again in the near future when I get my next catfish craving and so my husband can try their ribs next!

Yelp
Beau Legs is a restaurant that feels like you're having dinner at a friend's house. The staff is warm and inviting and the menu is a top hits list of southern comfort food. The gumbo, jambalaya, and po boys are my go-tos but their fried chicken is also amazing! Bc everything seems to be made from scratch, it can take a little more time to get your food if the restaurant is packed. But all good things are worth waiting for and Beau Legs is definitely worth it.

Yelp
They updated their store hours on Google six weeks ago - says they are now open on Mondays. I was skeptical because their hours seem very inconsistent but it says updated by business owner and I'm like okay bet they clearly intentionally opened them.... Placed an online order, the system said 45 minute wait. We did some errands to kill time. Get there - they're closed.
google avatar

Yelp
Some really good southern food and terrific fried catfish in the area. Being from the south this is one of a few places in the PacNW that gives me a taste of home.

Yelp
We were visiting our son and family who live in Lacey. We found Beau Legs Fish & Chips on Yelp as thats my go to when we travel. Every single dish we ordered was absolute perfection. We will definitely be eating here on our next visit to this area and our son will be back every chance he gets. Great service, great food

Yelp
First of all, we drove 2 hrs to come here in passing because my husband SWORE I wouldn't regret going here and I'm so glad we did!! I NEVER get jambalaya.. but this one was so freaking good. They season their for perfectly!!! The catfish was so nostalgic and crunchy. I did take a picture of the hush puppies but they were bomb too!! Service was amazing .. I didn't get her name but the server was soooo sweet and one of the best parts of our time dining there. The place is small and cozy. Definitely worth your time!!

Yelp
I haven't had amazing fried chicken in years so I was thrilled when Beau Legs knocked it out of the park!! I've lived near Beau Legs for years and only recently tried out the place. I'm kicking myself because that fried chicken! But I need to calm down a little because the side dishes were good but not great. I may be a little bit of a foodie snob but the side dishes I tried (collard greens and mashed potatoes) were a little bland. Mind you, they were out of gravy so maybe the potatoes would have been better if they had gravy. The service was good. The place was packed but the food and service were still on point. This is a very small establishment so be prepared to stand awkwardly and wait or opt for take out. I'm anxious to go back and try more food!

Yelp
I had dinner with a friend a last week. We got there before they opened, which was a good idea because there were about 5-6 of us waiting when the finally arrived, exactly at the proper time. Within a few minutes the place was full. It's quite small and doesn't have a huge menu. Another friend who's been there many times swears the gumbo is awesome, but that's not something I'd order. I went with Fish and Chips (cod). The price was very reasonable, there were 3 good sized pieces of fish and adequate french fries. A small serving of some of the best cole slaw I've had in years, next time I'll ask for a larger portion. The Fish was delicious. They have other kinds of fish and I'll probably try some of them in the future. Thoroughly enjoyable. I'll be back. They have ribs, but the man doing the smoking was recovering from surgery so it wasn't available. It's a really small place and the service was excellent. It's family owned and it shows. Many, if not most, of their customers were recognized and treated as part of the extended family. My only complaint is that the place is very noisy. But I can live with that to get excellent fish and chips.

Yelp
Best catfish around! My go to for Southern food. Also love their red beans and rice, greens, and pecan pie.
google avatar

Machaela M.

Yelp
Love love love the food is amazing! i love catfish so that is what i get every time, but my husband is less picky than i am and he's tried the other fishes and agree they are good. the mac n cheese is great and honestly my favorite! the restaurant is pretty tiny and only has 6 tables inside and i think 2 outside so if its a busy night then you might have to wait but its worth it.
google avatar

Trish K.

Yelp
Always great friendly service!, staff is attentive. Amazing BBQ every time! 1st time eating inside, every thing was clean love the new dining room option.

Lauri S.

Yelp
Beau Legs is a little place with exceptional food. The cod fish and chips were amazing, and the best Cole slaw I've had in years. I cannot wait to go back and try more of their menu!

Yelp
Wanted to like it so bad, since the staff was so friendly and helpful. The food just wasn't for me or my partner.

Yelp
First of all the customer service is excellent! They have always been friendly, welcoming . I have tried several things from here and can't complain about any of them. My food has always tasted great! Their his puppies are delicious! Cat fish is cooked perfect! Their deep fried chicken is one of my favorites! Absolutely love their sweet tea ! The restaurant its self is small. But very clean! I wished they had a bigger place or even a small place in my town. They have some great southern dishes!! One of my favorite places to eat!

Andy L.

Yelp
Been here twice now, and it's quickly become one of my favorite places. Staff are super friendly, the interior is clean and inviting, and we just love the food here. So far we've tried the clam strip basket, chicken gizzards, seafood etoufee, red beans & rice, collard greens, the corn appetizer, and the catfish. I have to say, it is some of the tastiest food I've ever had. The catfish may be one of the best I've tried, as well as the greens- so flavorful. I hadn't had collard greens this good in so many years. The gizzards were good too, not the absolute best I've ever had (bc I've had a lot in my life), but definitely very tasty. Bonus was the bread pudding...soooo good...

Yelp
FALSE ADVERTISEMENT Purchase "Catfish" today so I thought but I'm from Arkansas/Tennessee so I know what American catfish looks like and tastes like. turns out they don't sell catfish they sell Vietnamese catfish called Swai!!!!! Google that fish i encourage everyone to do so. Nasty fish they are considered unclean fish especially how they are farmed. But don't worry this restaurant charges you hard working Americans top dollar for trash fish! I plan on looking into the laws on this I don't see how this is legal.

Lynn B.

Yelp
Great food, friendly fast service. Nice little place. The Hush Puppies were huge and delicious. Loved the Shrimp Po Boy.

Brian J.

Yelp
Ordered the catfish basket. The fish was perfectly cooked with a crispy lightly-seasoned cornbread breading. Nice fries, crispy outside and soft inside. And probably the best hush puppies I've ever tasted.
google avatar

Tessa L.

Yelp
Sooo good! My husband and I split the Captain's Platter while our kiddo got the 1 Piece Fish and Chips. What's struck us the most was how flavorful everything was. We've been places where, if you order a big basket of stuff, it all kind of tastes the same. Not this! The fries were basic crinkle cut ones but the seasoning was SO GOOD! The batter on the catfish was fantastic and so different from the batter on the other fish. Each item tasted totally different from the rest and all of it was so dang good! It's a small little place (3 booths on one side, three tables, a booth in the far corner, and seats at the bar) but it felt far from small. It was cozy and friendly, people chatted with one another. It felt like we had been coming here for years, even though it was our very first time. Our server was lovely and kept checking on us to make sure everything was good. The kitchen staff popped in and out while they were getting our food prepared. It took maybe a little longer but it was because everything was being hand made and coming out fresh. It's about as long as I would have expected it but I know some people expect rushed service. Good food takes time and this food was so good! We stopped in on our way back from a trek out to a Christmas tree farm, we were nowhere near our house. But we will definitely be back!

Yelp
Local small business!! I've eaten here a few times, but not since they renovated. Their dine in area has been upgraded with some booths as well as new dining tables and comfy chairs. We called to double check they were open and we're informed they were but stopped accepting dine in at 7pm (they close at 8), but you can still order to go after that. SERVICE: We were waited in by two super friendly ladies, and they were attentive, warm and welcoming. 10/10 service! FOOD: I got the shrimp po boy and an a la carte catfish (this isn't shown on the menu as an option but I asked). Wow, both were so crisp and fresh tasting. The seasoning on the catfish added to the crunchy texture. It was cooked perfectly. It was not soggy at all, which you can run into often when getting a fried fish. My husband got the oyster basket which also came with coleslaw, fries and two hush puppies. The hush puppies are crunchy on the outside but soft on the inside. Salty & sweet. I also go the sweet tea, which is definitely SWEET. We've never been disappointed eating here, and I definitely recommend supporting this local small business and will return.

Yelp
Best homemade soul food EVER! From presentation to taste... amazing! The owners are wonderful too!
google avatar

Robin R.

Yelp
I had the corn on the cob and it is fantastic!!! My daughter had the oyster po boy and said it's great and we went back again this evening and it is the best. The corn is seasoned perfectly, I can't describe the flavor, but, it is a little spicy (not hot) and creamy. I highly recommend Beau Legs Fish & Chips in Lacey. Also, the prices are so good in comparison to other restaurants. Nice people working there!
google avatar

Ciera B.

Yelp
This is definitely a spot I go to when I am craving a quick fox for gumbo instead of making my own. The owners and serves are quick and always so helpful and kind. It's not too crazy on the inside but just enough space to get a quick bite to eat. I love their catfish and fries plus the gumbo. Nothing screams Cajun and the south like this gem!

Peter S.

Yelp
If you are looking for Southern cuisine, this place is a hidden gem! The fish wad seasoned perfectly and the coleslaw was delicious. So many things on the menu to sample: fried chicken, hush puppies, gizzards, frog legs, catfish & cod. Pulled pork was the special of the day and I was envious when I saw one going to another table. Next time... The waitress was wonderful. Friendly, attentive and professional. Small seating area is a bit of a downside but they seem to excel at takeout. Not fancy but definitely Good Eats !

Troy P.

Yelp
Great portion size. Reasonably fast service. Small foot print but hasn't been crowded.

lm c.

Yelp
Ate lunch here with a friend and my husband. We ordered okra as an appetizer and it was sheer perfection! I had a shrimp poor boy sandwich and it was stuffed with clean very well prepared shrimp on a substantial yet sold roll. The portions were spot on and prices were good for the quality and portions served. I'll be back! My complements to the chef...great job! Service was also spot on something not always found.
google avatar

Becky L.

Yelp
Food is fantastic. Don't be surprised if you have to wait longer than you'd expect. We had the fish and chips but will go back to explore other menu options.
google avatar

Tony R.

Yelp
May 21, 2024 around 1:15pm. Forgot to ask for her name, but the African American waitress is very friendly. My wife and I really enjoyed the service and catfish meals.
google avatar

Damien P.

Yelp
Small portions, nasty food. Horrible service, they can't get a simple order right. I'll never eat there again!!!
google avatar

Brittany E.

Yelp
I read through the reviews before coming, saw both good & bad, but thought we would give it a try. All and all, it was alright. Our six-year-old ended up ordering one waffle with blueberries and the chef was so kind he cooked the blueberries in the middle. This was a positive. I ordered a small cod and french fries platter with the hush puppies. The hush puppies were amazing, the fries were okay (wish they were more crispy) and the cod was eh-- I only ate a few bites. My partner got the cod platter as well but got the fried okra and a large gumbo. He said the gumbo was 100, but just like myself the cod was eh. All and all we might go back, but wouldn't order the fish again. 3 out 5. Picture of the blueberry waffle below because that was very kind.

Yelp
Last night my Girlfriend and I had dinner here...FANTASTIC! The catfish was off the hook! Hush puppies great! And probably the BEST Coleslaw around..it had flavor! The service was great! Staff super friendly! I highly recommend this place!
google avatar

Denise A.

Yelp
We came in right when they opened for dinner. And let me tell you, it fills up QUICK! Within minutes of sitting down, the small eatery was filling up at the tables and folks ready to order to go. A table of 5, we ordered the catfish baskets. The fish was so, so fresh! The small order comes with two large helpings of catfish and it is right on point.
google avatar

Michele R.

Yelp
Delish and great service!!! Support a local business! And definitely don't skip the hush puppies.

Janice C.

Yelp
Great authentic Southern good and great service! I highly recommend this place. I live in Seattle but it's worth the trip to Lacey.
google avatar

Rocky S.

Yelp
I went here for the first time a couple weeks ago and got a to go order since I was grabbing dinner for work. I order the jambalaya and it was to die for. I absolutely love this place and am looking forward to visiting again and trying more of their food options.

Laura G.

Yelp
Everything was great. Service, food and price. My friend had shrimp and grits. Never had it before; she loved it. The fried okra was perfect. Shrimp poboy was very well done. Can't wait to go back.
google avatar

Nicole T.

Yelp
Came here to grab lunch before a football tournament. We had a party of 10 and had to split the kids and adults at two table which was fine. The ladies working inside were great and personable. We placed the following order.... 2 orders of halibut and chips...2 orders of shrimp and chips.. jambalaya with no shirt because they were out.. an order of chicken wings, chicken sandwich, sweet potato fries, chicken strips. I wanted chicken and waffles but they were out of chicken and also chicken and shrimp and grits. They were out of small shrimp. Overall the food was good. It was hot and came out in a timely manner. We will have to come Back to get the chicken and shrimp and grits
google avatar

Simon P.

Yelp
I really love their catfish and chips. The service is good. They have made a substantial upgrade to dining space since COVID. It's still in strip mall, but the interior has been stepped up.

K C.

Yelp
Out of Shrimp, pulled pork, hush puppies and pork chops. Waited 50 minutes for food that I was told would be ready in 30 minutes, just for them to not have started the food OR written down the order. The cooks in the back were arguing with each other and the reason they were "out of hush puppies" is because one of the cooks broke the tool to retrieve the hush puppies. The whole place was filled with patrons waiting on food, every table was full and nobody with food. Many of them waiting 30-40+ minutes to even have someone write down their order or waiting on food. Service was awful, and always is when the owners aren't around. Wait times here are also atrocious, I want to be able to support local businesses but with service and environment like that everytime I try to give them a chance not sure this is the "best" soul food place in Lacey. They are the best at keeping you waiting.
google avatar

Geraldine B.

Yelp
The food is delicious mouthwatering even the prices are affordable. I recommend this place to everybody if you need a place to eat, come and enjoy the food.
google avatar

Sabrina T.

Yelp
I give this restaurant four stars. The stars deserved are for the food. Been going here for a years, and the customer service is hit or miss. Either it's really horrible, or it's excellent. The only consistent thing is the flavor and quality of the food. Even on its days I would still come back.
google avatar

Kathy W.

Yelp
Found this amazing little restaurant on Yelp as we were driving home and needed a lunch break. We were very happy with our visit to Beau Legs. It was a small detour off the 5, and easy to jump back to the 5 as well. The place is tiny but very clean and nicely decorated. We were seated quickly and ordered a few minutes later. Our server was friendly and helpful. The food is all prepared fresh so it was a bit of a wait but so worth it! I had the catfish basket (2pc) and was able to substitute collard greens for the coleslaw. The catfish came consisted of two large filets, perfectly breaded and piping hot. This was the small portion. Delicious! It came with two of the most delicious hushpuppies we ever had. Greens were good, would have maybe have liked them a bit hotter. My husband had the shrimp po'boy, served in a soft roll with freshly fried shrimp, gently breaded with just the right amount of crunch and served with fries. We will have to come back for dessert, as the portions were generous and we were completely satisfied!

John G.

Yelp
As good as you can find, away from Louisiana. Authenic Cajun food! Go try it out, you won't be disappointed.

Siaosi L.

Yelp
The only place for that Cajun creole fix in town. Love their fish baskets, gumbo, and their poboys. Sides are just as good creamy Mac and cheese, flavorful greens and that peach cobbler OMG. one of the favorites for locals. Staff is so friendly and service is always great.

Yelp
Early last Saturday evening, I was hungry for some Fish & Chips. So, I looked online for a new place to try. Beau Legs Fish and Chips in Lacy rated well so we decided to give them a try. BIG mistake. When we walked in we noticed right away the place doesn't have a "traditional" restaurant vibe - no Host/Hostess greeted us...no menu posted on the wall or available at the counter...no Health Department grade clearly visible...only one booth with customers during what's supposed to be one of the busiest times of the week. "Uh, oh" I thought. We waited several minutes before someone appeared from behind the curtains separating the kitchen to tell us to "go ahead and have a seat" if we were dining in. It was almost another 10 minutes before the same person came over and tossed a couple of menus on our table as if she were upset we were even there. We should have left right then and never looked back, but we were hungry and sometimes a place has great food but poor service. We started with Fried Pickles, which were lightly breaded and tasty. Nothing spectacular, but decent all the same. Then my girlfriend ordered Catfish and I ordered Cod for our main dishes. Both came with fries and hushpuppies. Throughout the ordering process and when she brought our food, our waitress (Deanna) continued to act as if she had contempt for us. Most of the time, though, her and the other waitress were in the kitchen and NO EMPLOYEE was visible in the front. When our food arrived...the fish and hushpuppies were grossly overcooked...and the fries seemed as if they'd been sitting under a heat lamp for a few hours since they were limp and void of flavor. We sparsely ate as quickly as we could and then waited and waited and waited for the check...only to have Deanna disappear behind the curtains after tossing it on the table. We waited and waited and waited for someone to come get the check and cash we set on the table...finally, though, we set it on the counter and walked out. THEN the waitress (Deanna) comes out the door after us...as if we were trying to leave without paying...rudely saying "Excuse me!!!" My girlfriend turned and told her to look on the counter and we never looked back AND will never go back either. My Rating: NO STARS (out of 5) Avoid this place at all costs. HORRIBLE service and POOR food. Don't waste your time or money. The Olympia/Lacey area has no shortage of good places to eat. It's a wonder this place stays open and even more a wonder Deanna has a job.

Yelp
I cannot speak highly enough about this joint. We did a search for fried clams after a disappointment elsewhere in Olympia and came across this icon of fine Southern/N'awlins flavor and hospitality. Whoah! There was so much more on the menu than those clams. We had to try everything. That means: Sweet tea, clam chowder, fried okrah, fried pickles, hush puppies, fried corn, clam strips, fried chicken, red beans and rice, jambalaya, mac and cheese, cole slaw, sweet potato pie, pecan pie. They were sold out of the gumbo. There were more things we wanted to try, but that was far more than enough food for two of us and plenty of leftovers for four more meals at home. For about $100 including a grateful tip. This place is very reasonably priced. Way more food than the two of us wanted, but we wanted to try everything. Here's what we liked: Every. Single. Thing. Every. Single. Thing. Every single thing was ridiculously good. The sweet tea, wasn't too sweet and tasted like tea- I could actually differentiate the well balanced flavors. The clam chowder.... I'm from New England, I'm proudly snobby and opinionated- this was awesome. Not all fancy with dill or sherry, but thick and creamy as it should be with plenty of clams and enough potato, the right flavor but with a slightly unique texture, almost like it was thickened with grits instead of flour or cornstarch. Appropriately served with the correct oyster crackers. Really solid chowdah. Wicked good. Fried okrah. Not my thing...I wouldn't have ordered it but yes what a surprise! Turns out it IS my thing. Like everything that was fried the breading was delicate and scrumptious and not at all greasy- these were fantastic. I'd never tried such a thing before and was compulsively popping the tasty little happy textured morsel surprises into my mouth. Clam strips. Whoah. These were not your typical little clam necks and clam bellies, nor were they fried to a crunchy crisp, this are bigger necks- clam strips were huge, fresh, and the batter was delicate. Somehow not as flavorful as other clam strips but tasty and seemed healthier with the depth of the deep fry oil and texture. Clam strips are one of my favorite things and it's hard to find good ones in the Northwest. These are good. Not great. But good. Aside- we wondered if they used an air fryer for all their fried goods, as nothing was oily/greasy. Food seemed unusually light and healthy for fried food. Fried chicken. OMG, the moisture and flavor of the chicken inside the delicate batter was ridiculously good. Wow. Hush puppies. I had bad memories of this stuff from grade school. Little did I know they could be prepared so that the batter forms an exterior ball of delicate crunch while the interior was moist and tasty- almost like cake pops or something. Like the okrah, not something I would have ordered, but awesome surprise. Red beans and rice. I was too full I couldn't try them. I had to prioritize. Jambalaya. I was too full, I had the leftovers with leftover chowder for two full meals for myself. So I didn't have it fresh. There was plenty of sausage and shrimp and flavor on the dirty rice. Mac and cheese. Great. Nothing exceptional but not overcooked, a bit al dente, with enough flavor. Comforting food like everything else here. Cole slaw. Very good. Not too soaked in dressing. Clean healthy flavor. Pecan pie. Very good. That said, ate it the next day. I couldn't have dessert I just rolled my stuffed body out of the Anything else? Oh yeah- the corn. I don't know how they did it. The ear of corn on a stick weighed about two pounds, soaked in what? Flavored with what? I don't know. I overwhelmed myself with food. But I remember it was delicious. The service was friendly. Obviously from the various reviews- the place is very popular and gets a big lunch rush. It's a good idea to bring a patient attitude. I came in with that attitude and came out fat and grateful. Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. Take your gracious attitude, remember that things happen a bit slower in the South (this ain't a fast food drive through), it's worth waiting for, try everything I didn't try and let me know how it is. (And this is just a couple doors down from remarkable cupcake shop.... it's amazing that we could get a parking spot at this little strip mall).
