The Best Places to Eat at Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) | Eater Chicago

"A European-inspired wine bar with decorative touches like a granite-topped bar and wine glass chandeliers, offering more than 20 wines by the glass, bottle, or flight and small-plate pairings such as cheese and charcuterie or a shrimp cocktail — a relaxed preflight spot for wine lovers." - Jeffy Mai

Google
Needs a “seat yourself” sign. We watched as group after group waited to be seated and left. Great atmosphere away from the busyness of the airport. Great food, great affordable wines as well! Highly recommend!

Google
The worst service I have ever received. All three employees we interacted with acted as if we were a bother when we just wanted to order lunch. The food was so slow we had to take it to go after waiting 30 minutes for soups and sandwiches. If you are looking for a nice place to dine at CLT, this is not it.

Google
I'm not impressed what so ever. It was easy to walk in and get a set even though they would take you to your sets. The severs are really nice. A few hiccups, they forgot what I ordered. They finally bring me my wine. I picked a more fruity wine, and it tastes horrible!!! First of all, it is warm as hell. The flavor is stale, and it's sour. The more I sip it, the sick I feel. There are about 4 servers and 1 bartender, and I feel like I barely see any of them. There's a wall that seethrew, and I can hear the servers and see them all just being back there. About 40m later, I finally got my food. And it was underwhelming. The fact that this sandwich was $19 is ridiculous. The hole experience was just painful. Now I have been waiting for the check for about 10-15m. I don't recommend eating here. There are better options.

Google
For an airport wine bar, it was great. I didn't eat. 9oz pour started at $20 ish depending on the wine. I'd recommend because it was quiet on a summer Friday 5pm ish . Service wasn't great but what do you expect at the airport. Cheers!

We had a nice charcuterie board and sparkling rose’ between planes, and it was nice, not overly crowded which allowed us to chill. It’s in the atrium, so it’s easily accessible from all gates. Bon appetit!

Google
Four stars for the atmosphere, because… It’s in an airport! But I thought the food was really good. I ordered the grilled chicken BLT sandwich and it was great! Best food I’ve had yet at the Charlotte airport.

Amy Cosson

Google
The only place I could find with gluten free options! The staff were knowledgeable about gluten and I was so grateful. The food was good, nothing special but at least it was fresh food unlike all the deep fried options around it. Would definitely recommend for celiacs

Google
A very rude waiter walked up to my table and began to rearrange it without greeting me. I told him about his unprofessional behavior. He was very aloof. I informed a manager. I left without ordering anything after the second waiter told me that I would have to move. I told him that it just wasn't meant for me to dine there.

Yelp
This is located in the airport behind the sushi place. The place was extremely understaffed so it did take a while to get waited on, but the food was good. I had the turkey panini and it was delicious. I liked that it was a quieter spot away from the hustle bustle of the airport but I think they need to get more wait staff. I ordered a margarita and it came with a ton of black floaters in it so I sent it back (not sure of the ice, the glass, or the like was dirty but it gave me the ick). They have an app that allows you to order your food which is a good option but we saw a bunch of people sit and leave after 5 minutes because nobody greeted them or waited on them.

Yelp
I had high hopes when I came across Beaudevin, especially after a stressful day filled with flight delays -- my expectations were halfway met. Here's the good: their Bloody Mary is very good, very well done. The Artisan Cheese Plate is also good, for the most part (more info. below); and I especially enjoyed the herb goat cheese, aged pecorino, and apricot preserves. Now, on to the bad: though the menu clearly specified that the cheese board includes brie, mine didn't. Also, I don't like blue cheese and can't eat it at all so I requested olives in place of the blue, which I was told would be an easy swap but, sadly, I received the blue cheese after all. As for the service, I wouldn't say it was good and I wouldn't say it was bad; it was simply ok and could certainly be better.

Yelp
If I could give it 3.5 stars I would. I got my sandwich to go and didn't wait long at the bar to get it but when I first walked in 2 different employees just looked at me & didn't ask if I needed help or anything. There's a side entrance that says it's to place carryout orders so that's where I was standing. No one came so I went to the bar area & that's where I placed my order. My order came out quick and my sandwich was delicious but the service is definitely lacking.

Yelp
My first impression was the WINE sign..I absolutely love wine and thought this may be an intriguing place to try so I did. Overall, I think it was a great choice! Ms Joyce was very nice as a hostess and my server was Patricia, she was great also. So, let's get into it! The ambiance was nice and chill. I even considered looking into the possibilities of a franchise...hmm

Yelp
It's not Vino Volo, I'll tell you that. It took forever to get seated, even though I was staring at a few empty tables. Then, you had to use their website to view the menu so it was hard to flip from wines to food to other stuff. Finally, the waiter brought a menu over, but I had to "hurry" (his word) as it was the one from the counter that potential customers can look at. I almost walked out at that point. It IS a peaceful retreat from the rest of the crazy airport noise and traffic. However, the service was lacking and wine selection wasn't all that enticing. The main reason I won't return is the lack of any kind of wine flights. Or maybe they did and I missed them.

Yelp
Finding fresh, unfried food and quick service is hard to find in an airport. But if you pass all the fast food and bar kiosks near the A, B, and C terminal rotunda at Charlotte Douglas's International, you'll find Beaudevin tucked away, as far from the busy walkways and hustling passengers as you can get. There was no wait for sit down service and the chairs and booth seating were comfortable and didn't have the normal crowded feeling these airport restaurants can have. Our server was friendly and helpful, explaining our options for ordering through him or the QR code on the table. I enjoyed a farmers salad -- roasted beets, goat cheese, walnuts, and radishes with the lightest honey vinaigrette to add the slightest sweetness. I was tempted to add prosciutto for my protein, but opted for grilled chicken instead. I think this might be my new favorite meal spot when I travel through CLT. Can't wait to come back and try the charcuterie, cocktails and flatbreads!

Yelp
Beautiful wine bar / restaurant. The decor pulled me in. Delicious charcuterie boards and wine. Happy I stopped in during my flight layover and delay. The staff was doing their best with all the flight delays today. Can't imagine the pressure but glad I had the waitress I had. So sweet. Kept calling me Darling. too cute. In the midst of chaos, this was a relaxing area to chill for a few in between flights. Little Flies are a problem here. Needs to be looked at by the manager. Had to shoo a few away....

Yelp
Located in the CLT Airport, the Beaudevin is a decent option if you have time to kill and are fiending for some vino... The wine selection is the best offering here. Great variety of wines and pours. Definitely not an issue here... During my visit, it appeared that they were understaffed. The servers were covering extensive areas throughout the venue. I was sitting in the outer tables by the entrance and had to wave my server down for refills. She was nice and trying her best. I ordered the turkey panini and it was average. I was keeping my expectations in check as I realize I'm in airport. The turkey portion was minimal but there was plenty of bread. The dish came with a small serving of potato chips. If you're looking to get your wine on, stop on by. If you're feeling pretty hungry, I'd probably check the other options in the airport. Safe Travels!

Yelp
Right next to all the fast food places in the airport Comfortable seating. Nice place to eat or drink between flights Large bar area with good wine and cocktails. Upscale feel but comfortable I got the tomato soup and grilled cheese Very tasty and delicious Helpful service and quick Not a big menu but enough for various things

Yelp
Beaudevin means beautiful wine! This place was the winner of the best new airport bar. Offering wine, sandwiches and small plates. I ordered the Salumeria panini cured meats salted Italian with an olive spread. This was very flavorful and savory. The tomatoe basil soup has just enough tanginess to compliment the sweet basil seas Our server, Simon was great. A great option to chains in the airport.

Yelp
I will 10000% be stopping here every time I come through the CLT airport. I've passed by it so many times and somehow it never clicked in my brain that they were there. I've ordered from the sushi bar that's right in front of them, but I am SO glad I tried them out. My server was fantastic and very kind. She made sure I was taken care of. Checked in with me and made sure I got my food on time. I had an hour layover, but we all know that goes by so quick. It was towards the end of the night so it wasn't too busy, there was about 4 or 5 other groups around the restaurant. My wine was tasty and my food was amazing!! Soup and grilled cheese are simple yes, but they have some great ingredients that make it taste that much better. Can't wait to come back!

Tracey T.

Yelp
Had the prosciutto flatbread and it was unremarkable. Not much flavor and was doughy. Overpriced for the quality Wine was good. But I'd rather overpay for delicious food than good wine

Yelp
What do expect from an airport bar. QR code ordering and paying. Good service and of course on the little bit of the pricey side. They treat the customers super well.

Rory O.

Yelp
To be sure, the sandwich was fine. The staff is obviously above their job. It's hard to imagine this level of arrogance at a five star restaurant in the city. Customer service is definitely dead here. Maybe since they chose a fake French word, they feel they should be rude. Who knows, just beware.
google avatar

Dee W.

Yelp
Better than anything else I have had here. Prosciutto flat bread would have been better with marinara but pretty good.

Yelp
please be aware of this place. they use deceptive practices. I tried to order a Bloody Mary at lunchtime from the online menu. drink was $14.99. the app was not working when I tried to pay on the app so the bartender said she would take my order. I showed her the Bloody Mary from my phone App. When I got my bill, I was very surprised to find out an additional $10 charge. I inquired about the cost And was told that she gave me a double and charged me for that. I told her that I didn't order a double and the price is clearly stated on the app at $14.99. She informed me that all drinks are automatically a double at this place unless unless u tell them it's a single. she also said that all airport bars work this way with an automatic double unless the customer asks for a single. I asked for the manager And he couldn't change my bill to $14.99 either since he said I drank a double. (I explained that this was unknowingly and that I has not ordered a double). I am not only upset about the additional charge but mainly that I had not wanted a double drink. Had I wanted a double, I would have ordered one. I will be contacting their corporate about this deceptive practice. Workers were rude and Do not know how to deal with any customer complaints.

Yelp
It's been years since I've had a layover long enough to warrant a visit. But it was so worth it today. A Greek salad with added prosciutto and a glass of Shelton estate "Bin 17" Chardonnay. The food was excellent and so refreshing. I was quite happy with the pairing of the wine and the salty prosciutto accompanied by the acidic lemon vinaigrette. I wish I could get this at home!
google avatar

Marsha N.

Yelp
Gets the job done of having decent wine, of course it's pricey. The bartender wasn't very attentive or friendly. Had the Farmer Salad, it was good except the radishes were a little suspect. The free airport wifi wasn't really working.
google avatar

Indo S.

Yelp
Great service, quick fast and absolutely delicious. Simple menu and you can order and pay on your phone and they'll bring it directly to your table. Expect airport prices. Dined here on my layover in North Carolina and it was one of the best airport meals I've had on my travels. Clean and a lovely ambience. Definitely do a charcuterie board. Perfect for two or one person if you're really hungry. 10/10 would dine again.
google avatar

Briana R.

Yelp
Service makes the whole experience. Well that and good wine! Unfortunately the bartender did not know anything about the wine to make a pleasant experience. Furthermore, he was rude.
google avatar

Mishkin L.

Yelp
A solid airport spot, I love coming here. They have the best tomato soup, not overly creamy or bland. Always a treat. Small but pretty decent wine selection. I wish they'd use their fancy wine decanter station or whatever you call it for really interesting and upscale wine tastings. Also wish they had more vegetarian options maybe hummus with crudite or a beet and goat cheese and pistachio salad, basic but would compliment the menu nicely, which right now is both carb and meat heavy. Service is always great but can be slow so if you are limited in time tell them upfront.

Yelp
Making a connection flight in Charleston and wanted more then just a fast food selection. Enjoyed a very flavorful Turkey Panini and Tomato Bisque soup that was so tasty. I would recommend Beaudevin for good food, service and atmosphere.
google avatar

Sharon F.

Yelp
I had time before my flight from Charlotte to L.A. so I stopped here as it looked like a great atmosphere for a relaxing light lunch. I chose the Farmer's Salad that included mixed field greens, roasted pumpkin seeds, beets, goat cheese and a sherry vinaigrette. The salad was a bit over dressed and normally that would bother me but the dressing was so good that I didn't care. I didn't get a protein but the options of grilled steak, chicken, or shrimp would have all gone well with this salad. I also chose a local Chardonnay that was very good, although I cannot remember the name. Absolutely the perfect lunch before heading home.

Yelp
Since we had 2 hrs to waste at the airport I decided to finally try the famous Beaudevin. When they opened at noon we were the first to be seated. Cocktails: Bloody Mary with olives and a celery stalk ($16?) I asked the waitress and she confirmed the drink was spicy so I ordered one, my companion ordered a French 75 and we asked for water. We also ordered a cheese and charcuterie platter served with "warm baguette" ($24) and a Greek salad. A long, long time later (well we weren't in a hurry) the drinks arrived but no water. The celery was MIA from my drink; when I asked the waitress she replied that they "hadn't received celery in months." OK, but what about letting me know this when I ordered? We couldn't taste the gin in the French 75 either, two fails. Sometime later, we received the greek salad and the charcuterie platter -no water still, service was glacially slow due to the numerous employees busy chatting while ignoring customers. The salad looked pretty dry so we asked our server if the dressing was already on it, and she said it was. The olives were missing, the tomato slices weren't ripe and the feta cheese was that nasty kind that you get at the supermarket, cubes wrapped in plastic. And there definitely was no dressing on the salad. I didn't believe it was possible to screw up a simple salad as badly as that. The charcuterie platter looked like a bad joke. I was about to start eating it, but I put the knife down BEFORE I ate any of it to take a picture. This is what it looked like: two pieces of ham, three slices of salami, a couple of tiny pieces of cheese, some walnuts, and a bit of honey. And the "warm baguette" was day-old, dried-out bread, toasted! Since there was so little food on the plate, I ended up eating the toast and asked for more bread to spread the honey on. This time I was brought fresh, lightly toasted, bread, but I was charged an additional $3 for that. I paid before asking for the manager because I wanted to make clear that I wasn't looking for a freebie. When the manager arrived I told her that it wasn't a surprise that the reviews they had received recently were terrible. So, $85 for two drinks and two dishes and everything was a fail!

Yelp
Expensive and the upgrade the liquor and charge you crazy amounts for a mixed drink. Proceed with caution! Food was ok, not great.
google avatar

Brett J.

Yelp
In the Charlotte airport there is a wine bar that even for an airport is completely crazy priced! Nice place... horrible server... like a combination of Sweeney Todd and Oscar the grouch! He had a very inviting, charming personality that just oozed kindness and true interest in customer service... NOT!!!!! This guy should really pick a different profession... like prison guard or a DMV employee... something more suited to his personality... maybe as DR Frankenstein's monster in spook houses. The wine is way over priced... like 5x over. There is a 3oz, 6oz, and 9oz option (3oz? What the heck do you do with that? Use it as moth wash?) there is no price break between them. Each graduation in size is just the price of the 3oz times 2 or 3. I had a nice glass of wine that I thought was $12 each... I had 2 and it turned out they were $20 each! I don't normally buy bottles that are that much!! After they resuscitated me and got me off the floor I paid and vowed to steer clear of this establishment in the future.
google avatar

David B.

Yelp
Disappointing at best. We had hours to kill in the airport, and this place is quite different from the rest of the field. The concept is great, but the execution is lacking. The wine list was intriguing, however the Pinot Noir in the wine flight was not well cared for, it tasted way too oxygenated and stale. I love a great cheese plate, however the sliced cucumbers had been cut way too long ago, then we're stored in cold refrigeration. While it would be great location for gourmet wine and cheese tapas,, this place needs a lot more attention to detail. The prices are way too high to forgive the missteps.

Yelp
CHARLOTTE-DOUGLAS INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, CHARLOTTE, VA 05/10/19 LUNCH +The smoked salmon sandwich with side wedge salad was excellent! -The customer service was slow like molasses and I had to constantly ask and follow up for just a single refill of my soft drink. -Two hours went by quick because the service and wait staff was so slow. -Did I mention my waitress was a non-existent ninja? I will likely be taking my $43 airport meal tab next door, to the Carolina barbecue joint, next time. Don't waste your decision-making power with checking this place out. It's not worth your time; unless, you don't mind burning 2+ hours along with terrible customer service.
google avatar

Pam W.

Yelp
Was traveling thought Charlotte and on American Airlines. Of course my plane was delayed, so I had a few hours to kill. So I grabbed a sandwich and stopped at Beaudevin for an adult beverage. The bartender created me pretty quickly and brought the menus over. Expensive! Even for an airport pub it felt excessive. I didn't feel like leaving so I ordered a cocktail made of sparkling wine, gin and other aromatics. After tip it was $20. It was a champagne flute of beverage and it was just okay. I know they have to pay their rent, but that's just ridiculous.
google avatar

James M.

Yelp
If you're looking for a quick drink and bite to eat in between flights I'd recommend going somewhere else. I've never seen bartenders and severs move so slowly. It took about 20 minutes for the bartender to appear from some hiding spot and take my order. It then took another 10 minutes to actually get my glass of wine. I don't think this bartender could have been slower if he tried. Several others were having even more difficulties with him due to incorrect orders, waiting for checks, etc. Although they have a great wine selection go somewhere else if have any time constraints.
google avatar

Kendra E.

Yelp
This bar is located at the airport in Charlotte, Service was slow, waitress didn't have a good knowledge of drinks/spirits they had. I had to ask for water twice, and when it finally came, looked like the glass was unclean. Beautiful bar though, love the chandeliers made up of wine glasses.

John B.

Yelp
Good service , quiet atmosphere and good drinks. If you are in the clt airport don't bother with the overcrowded and rude admirals club lounges, come here instead.
google avatar

Jocy C.

Yelp
Beaudevin is a wine bar / tapas / sandwich place located within the Charlotte / Douglas International Airport. The place is a little upscale, but cute! I ordered the Goat Cheese Baguette and Tomato Soup. I also tried their Strawberry Peach Bellini. NOM NOM NOM! My coworker also got their Artisan Cheese Plate. Overall a great experience, but a little pricey. ENJOY!!

Ellen M.

Yelp
Honestly, the rudest staff I have encountered at any airport restaurant. One never expects anything more than adequate service at an airport, so it's a pretty low set of standards to be at the bottom of. I think I arrived close to kitchen closing and interrupted the server's plans to finish early - which made her angry as she demonstrated by slamming tables together, angrily motioning for me to sit and storming off. I decided I wasn't destined for a good experience and went to the neighboring 1897 Market restaurant and received polite service and surprisingly delicious brussel sprouts with Shrimp and Grits.
google avatar

Carrie B.

Yelp
I mean a mean Bloody Mary here for sure but the food was crazy crazy crazy slow. I mean we are in an airport!!! I had to pay and leave 30 minutes before it even can e

Yelp
Beaudevin is an oasis in the middle of CLT, especially with all the construction that has been going on lately. It's very possible to zoom in and out of here on a short layover, which I really appreciate on days like today. They have an expansive wine selection and make great pairing recommendations. I'm a fan of the smoked paprika chicken salad sandwich, which has pecans, a very light mayo), and overall a nice texture and consistency that I don't often see with chicken salads. I had it with a wedge salad, which normally I'm not a fan of because of my general desire for tasteless iceberg lettuce to go extinct, BUT they even managed to make it flavorful and accompany it with a balance of tomatoes, peppers, and oil to make it enjoyable. The strawberry peach Bellini is also quite nice. Note that the speciality cocktails run around $16, which isn't surprising given airport + wine bar status. Super friendly service and a quiet respite from the main terminal. I pretty much make a beeline over here as soon as I get off the plane, every time!
google avatar

Melissa R.

Yelp
(Same as most: this is a review against other airport options) When I have an evening layover at CLT this is my go-to stop without hesitation. The staff recognizes you if you come through even semi-regularly, I've been stopping through here for over 3 years with long gaps between and they still recognize "regulars". Hidden in plain sight, in the main concourse, behind the Airport Sushi stand(which is surprisingly good), lies the CLT airport gem: Beaudevin. The pours are good and the food is pretty tasty, no matter what you get. The wine selection is decent, and no one should be surprised at the airport per-glass-prices. Beaudevin is great as a spot to decompress and relax between flights or get some work done. It's set far enough from the concourse to stay fairly quiet unless there's a robust group in the restaurant. Pro Tip: there's charging under the bar!

Sandra G.

Yelp
mediocre food and drink , but I guess ok for airport. I didn't like the service and treatment. You have to self pay. The waiter just pointed to the QR code for me to pay my tab. I did, and saw that Apple Pay was one of the options. I kept trying to get it to work from my table, but it didn't. I thought it was my phone signal, since I was all the way in the back. I stood up clearly on my phone trying to pay the tab, and the waiter came running to me yelling "Miss...you have to pay..you can't just leave" I showed him my phone and said thats exactly what I AM TRYING TO DO! he said, oh, it doesn't take Apple Pay. First of all, it's kind of annoying to have to do other people's jobs..that's your service and you close out my tab. Second of all, don't design a system that relies on my phone and cell service. Third of all, don't come hollering acting like I am some scammer walking out without paying! He should've told me from the get go, it doesn't take Apple Pay. I've gone to other airport bars where you do put your credit card info and order, etc. It practically closes itself out when you're done. Again, it doesn't rely on my phone to do the transaction. If I could've I would've tried to figure out how to remove his tip. It was too late though.

Yelp
Wow! Good little egg Florentine breakfast with a mini croissant! Surprisingly so! The egg was fluffy and quite delicious... the service with a smile, if a bit slow, but I was in no hurry making time for my next flight. The coffee was good too I reccommend ! If only they had more breakfast choices (they'd get 5 stars!) ... then again, it's not busy at this time so I guess low demand... but good stuff! Check it out! (Wanted to add that at $15 for breakfast, an outlet to charge my phone, and table service, it was a great spot to wait for my connection!)

Yelp
Service and ambiance was good. Food was up to par but not the best. Great for an airport layover and something light on your stomach.
google avatar

JB B.

Yelp
Ok. I get it. Airport food is expensive. But if you're going to be a higher end restaurant among a crowd of chains then at least have decent food. The waitress was nice but I felt like I was bothering her. I ordered a simple charcuterie plate. It's kinda hard to screw up cold cuts and olives. My issue was that the prosciutto. When prosciutto is stale it gets dark and hard as a rock. That's what I had. (See photo) 3 pieces were OK. 2 pieces hard as jerky. It was also served with equally stale bread. I intentionally went here because I wanted something decent. Major fail
google avatar

Yelp
The food and drinks were fantastic. Add in the excellent bartenders and staff, it's a perfect place to eat and drink.

Eric W.

Yelp
Probably the best place to eat in the Charlotte Douglas Airport, but it isn't as good as it used to be. Menu has gotten very small. Such as shame.
google avatar

Jeremy T.

Yelp
I visited here since Bruce K. suggested it was the top restaurant in the airport and Trip Advisor and Yelp also seem to agree. If you cant find anything on their decent sized menu, make sure to glance at their chef's tasting menu (specials), which are sometimes a better deal and come with a side, like their quinoa apple salad. I chose a simple farmer's salad since I had a large lunch and added seared salmon, similar to Jenny L. Although, they have replaced the smoked salmon as an add-on for $5.50, with the seared salmon for $7.50. I'm sure you can still add smoked salmon if you really wanted. I prefer the seared, and mine was seared to a medium to give you an idea. The only ingredient I didn't taste in the dish was the vinaigrette. This is a great little salad where the goat cheese adds a nice contrast to the leafy lettuce. I sat at the bar for optimal service in a busy airport and there was no one seated next to me. Some of their wines are pricy, but they offer various pour sizes to fit most budgets.
google avatar

Elizabeth R.

Yelp
This place is welcome relief from the hustle and bustle of the airport. They have a classy menu and nice atmosphere. It's a touch pricey but worth it to take a hard pass on the greasy burgers you'd get elsewhere. I had the charcuterie salad- order if you like dried cranberries and blue cheese together in harmony. It's a bold flavor combo. I'd be interested in trying their other salads and sandwiches!! Service was a little slow (be warned if you have a flight boarding within an hour!!) or maybe you can tell your server the situation.
google avatar

Matthew C.

Yelp
A nice place in the airport for wine. Really good wine list and prices are not too over the top for the airport. Service is average, and the food is below par. Small portions so no real meals just small portions. Comfortable place to stop in and I will for back to this location next time I'm at the airport.
google avatar

Edward M.

Yelp
3 stars overall, but maybe 4 stars compared to the other options in CLT. It's pretty nice with bar and table seating along with some sofas. Wine list by the glass is actually decent but then again it is advertised as a wine bar. I had the chicken pesto arugula flatbread thing and it was actually pretty good (especially for an airport) as was the wine. Service was fine though I had a fair amount of time on my layover. My biggest complaint was the prices. One glass of wine and a flatbread with tip will make you shake your head. I was still hungry but I would have felt guilty filing out my expense report if I had anything else at this place. So I just went to the gelato place nearby for dessert. Overall it's a decent CLT option but it ain't cheap.
