Beaumont’s Southern Kitchen opens at Texas Station in December | Eater Vegas

"After opening Dec. 17 at Texas Station, I found that the Fertitta family's Beaumont’s Southern Kitchen leans into Southern hospitality with a focus on smoked meats and comfort foods; the chefs trained with barbecue kingpins nationwide (including Mabel’s BBQ in Cleveland, Martin’s in Nashville, and The Granary ‘Cue & Brew in San Antonio) to learn the art of slow-smoking. The menu features grilled elote street corn, deviled eggs with jalapeño-candied bacon, and chicken-fried bacon, plus sides like collard greens, honey-baked cornbread, and brisket mac and cheese, and a barbecue board with sliced or chopped brisket, pulled pork, turkey breast, hot link sausage, smoked chicken, and St. Louis ribs smoked 12 to 14 hours over hickory wood. Entrees include brisket street tacos, a smoked turkey club, brisket Philly cheesesteak, fiery fried chicken and fried catfish, Mesquite- or hickory-grilled rib-eye steak, bourbon salmon, Spatchcock chicken, and jumbo shrimp, with desserts such as a chocolate pecan ball, black bottom pie, peach cobbler, Key Lime chess pie, and a banana pudding–filled éclair. I also noted the beverage offerings—bourbon whiskeys, regional brewed beers, and craft cocktails—and that the menu was developed by veteran executive chefs Patrick Higgins, Joseph Kudrak, and Amy Bearden along with Beaumont’s chefs Richard Alfaro and Michael Ross, with Ross (originally from Alabama) serving as head pitmaster; the restaurant is open for dinner nightly beginning at 4 p.m." - Susan Stapleton

Very nice cute place for breakfast or lunch. Haven’t tried dinner yet. Good service and food presentation. I had the Grilled Cheese with Ham with Waffle Fries which was delicious. My wife had the Buffalo Chicken salad which was also great. Plenty portions size. Would go back again and recommend.

Google
Great vibe close to where I was conducting business. The special was great. I didn’t know it had cheese. So my fault for not specifying that. The waiter was more than sympathetic to my situation and put the bill on the house. I did eat the fries, waffle cut. New to me.

Google
I walked on a Saturday during Lunch Hour very Happy to Buy Advertised Burgers/ Chicken Sandwiches they had advertised for $26.99plus on their place and with taxes with Added cheese I had to pay extra & Bacon all came out to $36 fine I paid it !Sadly I Was not able to choose 2 chicken. Sandwich ,or 2 burgers All had to be the Same things I asked the Lady Gabriela she said ,we can't change on Computer, and then another lady as well can't be changed whatever since it was their Super Special outside. I had to get Burgers it's either, or great not glad for that I m paying for it not FREE at least get 2 chicken sandwich & 2 burgers I thought I myself didnt want Burger! Anyhow, when I got home I saw the Burgers were not well cooked At all I had at home and recooked on a griddle because I felt Id be sick if I ate those Burgers not well Cooked And tasted like tire rubber I don't need to get sick! They lack A lot of Customer service & Politeness to Customers.Im Never going Again l! Bad Food & Service ! Thanks A lot a waste of my Money ,I was happy to go in to their restaurant at first trusted them and thought they be a nice place to try It was my first time and I'd support my Local Business here in Beaumont but I will not ever go Again!!Terrible !!

Google
Very clean establishment with a route 66 flair as the decor. Staff was nice and took our order right away. My wife ordered the pastrami sandwich. She said that the meat was very lean but on the dry side. I ordered the corned beef hash with my eggs over easy, hash browns, and biscuits and gravy. The eggs were done perfectly and tasty. My corned beef hash was very good and I ordered them to be a bit crispy as well as my hash browns. The hash browns were a bit greasy. The biscuits and gravy were marginal !!! All in all, just ok; nothing special about the food. The prices are a bit on the high side. Pastrami sandwich was $17.99; to high for what you get and that was with no fries and no drink.

Google
Seriously disgusted by this place and the way they treated my parents who had lunch there today.. long story short they served my mother spoiled steak and then refused to give them more than 50% off the price of the dish because she ate some of the eggs and potatoes (which are not worth $14 on their own from the $28 plate). The place is overpriced and the server tried gaslighting my mom into thinking that the steak was not spoiled. It SMELLED and tasted sour!!! My dad tried the steak and couldn't keep it down... this is coming from a man who has drank spoiled milk without noticing!!! It was that rancid. The server said that it's not possible the steak was bad. The manager also said that the steak is probably good because two other people had ordered steak and eggs that morning and didn't complain... probably because THEIR individual pieces of steak were not spoiled!!! My mom started feeling nauseous a couple hours after eating there, and has started violently throwing up in the last hour. Honestly, if my parents were treated better, more kind and the staff acted more understanding, I think we wouldn't have been so upset about the 50% refund. But the fact that this place tried to make my parents feel bad because THEY served them inedible food is ridiculous. They even said that they watched my parents on their cameras and saw them eating some of the potatoes and eggs. DUH! That was the only edible part with? We are considering legal action. My poor mom has really bad food poisoning. This place is trash.

Google
The food isn’t bad, but it’s not the best breakfast you’ll have. The coffee was pretty good and the staff are quick to come and offer refills. The staff that were working when I went in were very nice and had wonderful attitudes. The pancakes were pretty good. They taste like they are made out of cake batter. They reminded me of a confetti cake. I had the sausage breakfast burrito and it was just alright. One of the people that I was with ordered the country fried steak and the gravy was good. You’re not going to hate the food, but something was missing for me.

Ricardo De La T.

Google
Great breakfast from a local restaurant and I’ll come back again! Only reason I’m giving it 4 stars is because the server gave us hashbrowns instead of French fries and also the breakfast sausage tasted freezer burned… I’m hoping this is a one time issue as I plan on coming back again!!

Yelp
Driving from Los Angeles to Palm Springs often involves refueling-both the vehicle and the humans. We reached Beaumont in need of human fuel. We found the Beaumont Cafe Country Kitchen. A very good choice. I'm the vegetarian. My wife is not. She ordered a BLT. I noted that her dish is two thirds vegetarian. She mumbled something about "this is delicious." That works for me. On my side of the dietary aisle, I had a Spanish omelette. It was very good. A side of cottage cheese tasted very rich and fresh. I usually try to destroy the profitability of restaurants by drinking iced tea in massive quantities. But the Beaumont Cafe defeated me. My drink came out in a Ball jar that was as big as a small aquarium. Goodness. Well, I tried. They were just too generous. If your tummy is running on empty, and you're in the neighborhood, please give the Beaumont Cafe Country Kitchen a try. I can't wait for an excuse to come back.

Yelp
Local cafe. Friendly service. Clean. Food was good. Large portions. Affordable pricing. Easy location with ample parking, not far from freeway. Amazing bakery options to go. Fun interior decor.

Yelp
Breakfast-My wife had menudo. She loved it! I had French toast, it was a little better than just good. The service was 8/10, very friendly staff. And the value was 8.5/10. They have a lot of Mexican breads and pastries. Didn't have any this trip, but have bought them in the past, very, very good. Remodeled a few years ago, nice ambiance.

Yelp
Nice small town feel restaurant. The service was good and the overall food was very tasty. We were greeted immediately and seated. I ordered the strawberry lemonade in the mason jar and it was very good. My wife ordered the taco salad and I ordered the club sandwich. Both were good with a healthy amount of food. We definitely will be back.

Yelp
On my way to Palm Desert and couldn't wait to get to my destination so I YELPED cafes and this on caught my eye. Order chorizo, my friends got the club sandwich. All were very good. Plenty of waitresses. Great cafe and bakery.

Yelp
I am writing this because people need to know how unbelievably horrible this place is. My husband and I went to eat here while working nearby, and it was one of the worst dining experiences we've ever had. I ordered the steak & eggs, and let me be absolutely clear: the steak -- the MAIN, MOST EXPENSIVE part of the entire dish -- was spoiled. Not "overcooked," not "tough," but rotten. The smell and taste were disgusting. I honestly thought I was imagining it until I asked my husband to try it, and even he couldn't get it down. That's how bad it was. And what did the restaurant do? Nothing helpful. Absolutely nothing. First, the server messed up the order. Then we waited forever for the food. And when we complained about being served spoiled meat, the server said he needed to talk to the manager. After all that, they came back and told us they would only take 50% off the dish. 50%. For a plate where the main item -- the steak -- was completely inedible. The potatoes and the egg are side items; they cost almost nothing. The steak is the entire value of that dish. And that's the part they served spoiled! To make matters worse, the attitude was dismissive, like we were the problem for pointing out that the food was rotten. Instead of apologizing or doing the right thing, they acted like giving us half off was some sort of favor. No. It's not. It's an insult. This place is overpriced for the simple food they serve, and after today, I genuinely don't understand how they're still in business. Serving spoiled meat and then refusing to take responsibility is unacceptable. I will never step foot in this restaurant again, and I strongly recommend that others stay far away. If they served this to us, I can only imagine how they treat other customers.

Yelp
This a great stop for baked goods and sweet breakfast dishes like pancakes. The decor is road-trip themed and oh so cute. The staff is delightful and so helpful with indecisive family members.
google avatar

Jason V.

Yelp
The pancakes and bacon were on point, as usual. Unfortunately, the meat on the chile relleno omelette was a bit dry, the hash browns were over-cooked on the outside and under on the inside. It wasn't busy at the time we sat down. We weren't checked on after the meal was served, and had to flag down our server to get the check. We paid with our credit card and the tip amount was PRE-SET to 25%. If we didn't change it would've been a $14 tip for a breakfast for 2 (which was too much for the quality of food and service). Restaurants sometimes include an 18% gratuity on your bill for 6 or more people. I don't mind giving 20% tips for the best customer service.

Yelp

Yelp

Yelp
First time here for brunch. It was fairly slow and quiet but it was the morning. Service seemed rather slow for being empty. I will say the meal I ordered was fairly overpriced. Almost $20 for some scrambled eggs with chorizo, potatoes, and beans. If the eggs were less dry I could justify the price tag but egg and chorizo just seemed dried out. Having to add a lot of ketchup isn't ideal when I want the h food.

Jan S.

Yelp
Just didn't care for the food. Just not for m, on the pricy side. Someone elseight like it. Been once and haven't been since a few yrs back.

Yelp
Passing through town and found this cute lil diner for breakfast- The service was quick(and friendly) and the food hit the spot! The property kept clean with cute decor. I had the chili verde omelette with home fries and hubs had the corned beef hash. We both LOVED our meals and had no complaints. The coffee was good and our cups were kept full! I definitely recommend!!!

Yelp
There were things we really liked here and things we really didn't. The atmosphere is nice, we like that it gave the old feels of a classic diner. It was a Tuesday morning around 1015 when we got here. There were 7 tables filled including us. Not overly crowded, but we heard the people at the booth behind us complaining that the service was slow. Our server was very friendly, and she was very fast. We had no complaints about the speed of service, the atmosphere, or the cleanliness of the restaurant. I got a ham and cheese omelet with added pico de gallo. There was no lack of ham or cheese, and the omelet itself was a decent size. The only complaint I had was that the pico was mostly onion, and very little tomato. I also got hashbrowns and pancakes. The pancakes were fluffy and moist, and had good flavor. The hashbrowns, to me, were cooked perfectly and had a salty buttery taste. My hubby got the chicken fried steak with overeasy eggs, hashbrowns, and biscuits and gravy. He said the chicken fried steak was "ehh". He had no problems with his eggs and hashbrowns. He said the biscuits and gravy were mediocre. The gravy didn't really have much flavor and the biscuits were very dense. He likes fluffier biscuits when he's eating such a heavy meal. The things we did not like were the prices. Not only was it a little overpriced, we paid $47.58 for our two meals and 2 orange juices, but they put "cash incentive" prices in the menu. So they charge you the prices printed in the menu IF you pay cash. If you pay with a card they add an extra percentage per item on your bill. The way they let you know? A teeny tiny little laminated 1/2 of a poatit sized sign pushed to the back of the table. The only reason why I noticed it is because I was looking at the license plate on the wall. While the meal wasn't horrible, it wasn't memorable either. I don't think we'll be coming back any time soon.

Lori R.

Yelp
My husband and I stopped here on our way home from Palm Springs. We both enjoyed our food and the service. My husband said he appreciated the opportunity to support a small business and we both agreed to come back.

Yelp
I gave up on Beaumont Cafe about 3 years ago when I couldn't get past the stinky menudo or American Beef stew they tried to pass off as abondigas. It's Christmas Eve and I took a risk , First off since I been gone They added a Mexican Bakery , removed the stools and generally opened it up more. I didn't see any familiar faces so perhaps they have new staffing The food was absolutely delicious The green chile omelette was definitely homemade and the crispy hash browns were buttery perfect. I also ordered a pancake and it was hot and buttery. We also ordered a Hamburger Combo with fries. Cooked perfectly and the fries were hot My last two reviews I gave it a one star , good work Beaumont Cafe.
google avatar

Jack J.

Yelp
This is the hidden place that has the perfect breakfast for anyone. Plus they make their own Mexican sweet breads.
google avatar

Bartender Eddie M.

Yelp
Our first time eating here. Very nice cosy place. Food was delicious. Definitely will come back since my work is near by.
google avatar

Yelp
Changing hours doesn't encourage customers to drive to your destination. This place is so inconsistent. If you're a breakfast lunch diner but don't open until 8am, that is planning to fail. We have eaten here a dozen times over the years but now we give up. I hope 8-2 works for your convenience. It's not good for a breakfast crowd.

Michelle P.

Yelp
Great fries! The best fries out there. The store is usually slow and the workers ars very very nice. Old school diner decor and the food comes out very fast!

Michelle M.

Yelp
We love, it here Good old family restaurant. Reasonable & Great food everyone is so nice. We come here a few times a month

Karen S.

Yelp
It has been a while but we've been customers for 4 years. Not what it use to be. My sisco burger was dry and the Parmesan Sourdough was not grilled (dry toast). The fries were not like they use to be and the brown gravy I ordered was a solid lump of gross. Service was alright, but was told I couldn't substitute fries for breakfast potatoes so ended up with crusty dry French fries.
google avatar

Manny M.

Yelp
This place sucks, it's always closed , menu changed, we need a better business here this one takes up space, hope it croaks soon!
google avatar

Evoni H.

Yelp
Didn't really like the food here, I felt as if our pancakes were dry.. and our bacon tasted like dog food. How does that even happen.. would rather make food at home honestly.. don't recommend it here.
google avatar

Monica L.

Yelp
Was in the area and came across this restaurant on google with a lot of good google reviews which contrasted with the ratings on Yelp. But we decided to still check it out. In the entrance, your met with their bakery section of various Mexican baked goods as it seems like this restaurant serves a mix of American and Mexican food. SERVICE When we first entered, we waited quite a bit before getting seated even though there seemed to be a lot of empty tables. But the employees were friendly and helpful. PARKING Parking lot behind restaurant is a little small so you might have to street park if needed. FOOD I ordered the BLT with fries which was quite delicious - loved how crisp and freshly made the fries were. My mom ordered the soup of the day, Menudo, without really knowing what it was but she seemed to enjoy it. My dad ordered the Huevos Ala Mexicana which came with corn or flour tortilla. Overall, the food and portion sizes were nice and the employees were friendly but not the most attentive.

Jonathan F.

Yelp
For those of you who like me, enjoy a simple quiet breakfast that's home style with a tasty coffee, this is your place. I scheduled a haircut nearby for 10:40 and saw this place in passing. Sat down at 10:00 by 10:05 I had my coffee and order taken. Food came out at 10:15, I thoroughly enjoyed my breakfast and coffee then hit the road at 10:30. The service was great and the food was exactly what I wanted. Now I'm writing this in the barber sear. Highly recommend this hidden gem.

Yelp
Our first time here because we just moved close by. The place is cute and welcoming on the outside. Loved seeing the Mexican baked goods right when you walk in. Very appetizing, it worked because we bought some on our way out (very delicious by the way!!). We were seated quickly but they seemed busy already. The gentleman that waited on us was very polite and kept checking on us during our meal. I ordered the Chilaquiles with two eggs over easy that come with beans and home fries. My husband ordered the eggs over easy, ham, home fries, and wheat toast. He loved his breakfast, no complaints. I could not finish my chilaquiles. They came drowned in green tomatillo sauce. The tortilla chips weren't crispy or held any shape anymore. The tomatillo sauce was very tart. If we return to sit and eat again I would not order that again.
google avatar

Andrew S.

Yelp
My family waited 1 hour to get our food and my eggs / chorizo was dry. Definitely Not worth the time. We were sat in a timely manner I guess, but you can tell this place needs a little bit more professionalism and persons who know the food industry business. Our waiter rarely checked on us, it was just one of those days.
google avatar

Marinee A.

Yelp
Customer service is fine. Hot wings brought out cold. Fries cold Dr. Pepper tasted like something else. Super slow bringing the food out. We just had hot wings and a sandwich. Cake in fridge had happy 4th of July writing....which was 2 weeks ago. It's an okay place, maybe breakfast is better, but we'll probably pass.
google avatar

Sally C.

Yelp
Food was good. We ordered San Fransisco burger, chili size, coffee, and a raspberry lemonade. $48. Fries were cold. The waitress definitely does not like her job. Our receipt says Gabriela served us. We asked about pie for dessert. We purposely ate there because the sign says they specialize in homemade pies and cakes. She said we have apple and maybe something else. Later when she returned I inquired about other pies. Nope, just apple. No smile, no suggestions for something else. When we walked in and saw they have pastelerías, we had planned on buying a dozen. Decided not to after the less than friendly service. We tipped $5 on a $48 meal. That would have been more than doubled with a friendly server.
google avatar

Holly G.

Yelp
The food is good plus the serving is big. Love eating in a family coffee shop that reminds of country style ambience
google avatar

Jessica M.

Yelp
Not sure why you have a system to place orders online! I placed a ordered and never got a call that they weren't taking online orders I arrive and they tell me! What a waste of time.

Atac E.

Yelp
100 % WORST FOOD THERE IS!!! orderd 2 turkey melts and a chicken taco first the chicken in the taco had turned and was rancid ! next a turkey melt is not made with budding turkey meat! it was terrible it was a turkey deli sandwitch on toasted bread with a old tomateo and cheese the worst food ever if i could i would give them a -10 stars.
google avatar

Christine M.

Yelp
Got right in to sit down!! That is the positive about the visit. The waitress was less than friendly and needs classes on customer service. No good morning. Not even a smile which goes along way. The food was greasy and no flavor except old oil. Don't order chicken fried steak with hashbrowns which were so charred they had no flavor Sad because this place used to have yummy food

Carrie B.

Yelp
The food is very good. The staff do their best even when they're very busy. It's a nice homey feeling. A step up from a diner.
google avatar

Umami T.

Yelp
Decent diner atmosphere with a nice menu. Unfortunately my Huevos con Chorizo was over cooked. The eggs were hard and the potatoes dry. The only redeeming quality was that the chorizo wasn't overly greasy as it often can be. The pan dulce was good and the service ok. We'll try a different spot next time we're in Beaumont. Well, maybe I'd consider giving the Mango or Strawberry Lemonades with tajin on the rim a try on a hot summer day. They looked refreshing and are served in large mason jars.
google avatar

Mo M.

Yelp
Place is alright. Nice neighborhood diner. Quite a disappointing breakfast burrito, cold sausage links, lukewarm eggs. Gonna have to pass on this one next time.
google avatar

Jacob V.

Yelp
So this place has a to-go Mexican spot connected to it which is great!!! To be honest it is not the best I have had but for being in this area it is great. Full menu is in picture. Minimal seating outside. Fast service. 1.5 for tacos 3 for a drink Hoberno special sauce (orangy red) is literal fire... Literally...no joke. They don't allow seating inside because it is a different menu. But, their Mexican bread is way above some places I have gone.
google avatar

Yelp
I wanted to try a new place, so, after viewing some possibilities on Yelp, Diane and I dropped in for dinner here. A promising start was placed before me, next to my mason jar of Iced Tea, in the form of a very unusual Shrimp Cocktail, which consisted of 10 stripped down medium-sized shrimps swimming in a large glass goblet of Clamato Juice with tomato bits, celery, and some noticeable spices. Weird but good! Automatically supplied avocado slices and saltine crackers were welcome to help put out the flames. Two-toned Potato Skins were also quite tasty, with nicely melted yellow cheese punctuated by large dabs of well-melted white cheese. But, alas, the kitchen was out of chives. While I enjoyed a golden, well-cooked golden Country Fried Steak and Mashed Potatoes covered by pools of lip-smacking Country Gravy, accompanying squash, zucchini, and carrots were overcooked. And Fried Chicken (half a chicken) was regrettably overcooked as well, rendering the meat beneath the skin tough and dry. Service was friendly and very good, except that I had to ask for extra napkins twice. And booth seating was comfortable in a casual setting, with piped in music adding to the ambiance of a comfort food emporium. I will likely return for more of that Country Fried Steak, but will leave the Fried Chicken to others.

Yelp
Walked in for a to go order. 5 minutes later two Latino gentlemen walked in sat down and ordered. They ordered and were served more than 10 minutes before we received our order. Plus they gave my wife's waffle to them because they were Latino and we are white. They are prejudice and it is not right. I even gave the waitress who took my order a $5 tip for a to-go order.
google avatar

Amy L.

Yelp
I have gone before, years ago but the last time I went was awful. Waited 10 minutes and finally got up to get our menus myself and as doing so the waitress who only had about 3 tables snapped that she would have gotten them. Then our food came out cold. Was highly disappointed after the experience I had had before.

Yelp
" Tasty Food Items " I went to the Beaumont Cafe Country Kitchen for the first time, to get some Bread and Desserts. The Cafe is very large as they have an indoor seating area and a separate room for special large group meals. There were 15 people eating in the Cafe when I got there, but there was only one Women waitress for everyone. There was also one Mexican man who took care of cleaning up all the tables and mopping the floors, etc. They should have had another waitress or waiter as people who came into the Cafe had to wait a while to get a table even though they were available. The food items that were brought out to the customers were super large. Also, in the front of the Cafe are many glass cabinets with several dessert items that you can purchase. The refrigerated cabinet was almost empty. They should have had more items for sale. And they have NO prices listed on all of the items they have for sale. So as you are walking around, you have NO idea what the prices are on the items. The Bread and Elephant Ear dessert cookies I purchased were very tasty and delicious.

Art V.

Yelp
The food here has always been decent so we decided to stop by for breakfast the other day. The service was ok, and our food was what we expected - but what we didn't expect was the surprise when we got the check! They pulled a price switch of sorts! When you get the bill, it has two different amounts, one significantly higher than the other. The note at the bottom of the bill explains that if you want to pay the price on the menu (lower price ), you have to pay cash! Needless to say, if you're paying by card it's the higher amount! If you have lower prices for paying cash restaurants should put the higher (card) prices on the menu! What I did to avoid this bait and switch, I lowered my tip by the price difference. We won't be eating here again.

Yelp
We enjoyed the French toast, breakfast burrito with chorizo. And the turkey melt. Staff is so friendly and service was great.
