"There’s a new neighborhood wine bar and market in Crystal City where neighbors can drop by for bubbly by the glass or bottle, gluten-free pasta, and a slice of “Big Ass Chocolate Cake.” Beauty Champagne & Sugar Boutique is a partnership from two female fixtures in the DMV restaurant industry: Eat Good Food Group’s Meshelle Armstrong and Zena Polin." - Adele Chapin

"Restaurateur Meshelle Armstrong picked the quaint home of a former consignment shop as the site to resurrect her Society Fair market and pioneering speakeasy Bar PX, which both closed in Alexandria in 2019. Their reincarnation as Beauty by Society brings Arlington a “champagne and sugar boutique” stocked with female-made wines and local goods. A versatile menu includes charcuterie boards, flatbreads with dips and light bites, and sweets like pastries and cakes. Armstrong operates Alexandria’s Hummingbird Bar & Kitchen with co-owner Zena Polin, the founder of The Dish & Dram and The Daily Dish in Maryland. A grab-and-go retail section sells pantry items like homemade bolognese sauce, soups, and cookie mixes. Beauty by Society Fair’s own batch of cookies, made with potato chips, chocolate chunk and marshmallow fluff, is a Polin specialty." - Tierney Plumb

Amazing spot with a very lovely, friendly, and hands-on owner. The little patio area was so nice! Would definitely visit again when I’m in town next!

What a hidden gem. Have wanted to stop by first some time and glad I did. The owner was there and was unbelievable in making you felt welcome. Enjoyed some conversation with her and others and also had plenty of quiet time to enjoy a book I was reading. It was the perfect mix where people know how to treat everyone else around. Had 2 gallses on Red - 1 that I picked and one the owner recommended. Both were great and price is on point for the quality but a stel for the location, service, and atmosphere.

If you find yourself at DCA - walk here - and eat here! Beauty is an amazing foodie shop inside an old home with homemade desserts that will blow your mind, wines, champagne, exclusive chocolates & even a gummy section! They sell fab baskets filled with all sorts of marvelous foodie accoutrements! Must have’s- their chocolate cake and chocolate chip, potato chip cookies! They have one outdoor table that was taken at the time but inside is adorable and the super chill vibe is just what you need after a day on the plane! They have hilarious kitchen towels that will make you laugh out loud but for me the best part was the champagne “flight!” Outstanding! Honestly, it was their sign out on 23rd street that made us turn the corner but it was “Greg” who got us to stay! ❤️❤️❤️ — at Beauty Champagne and Sugar Boutique.

My partner and I have been here multiple times and it is always an enjoyable experience! The staff, especially Ilya, are kind and attentive. The wine flights are also a good deal. If you are in the area, I highly recommend!

My flight was cancelled at Reagan and I had a whole half a day to kill in the area. Ended up at Beauty after seeing a sign on the street and boy was I glad. Gregg was amazing and the two loyal customers I met inside turned my frown upside down! I wished I lived here to visit all the time. A must try!

Ina is just ✨✨✨✨ magic. This whole place is magic. Wine selection is top notch and their pickled veggies and pimento cheese on the charcuterie board is amazing!!

Yelp
This is a wonderful micro business. Half the business is a tiny but well curated wine shop. Only a few big names, but lots of interesting small producers. Zena's (the proprietor) knowledge is only exceeded by her welcoming personality. The other half is a small cafe where she serves a rotating cast of wines by the glass or bottle. You can also order anything from the retail side. The real star is the snacks she serves. She makes most of them and they are amazing. Try the "little Debbie Oatmeal Crème pies. They are life altering good. The third half of the store (math is not my thing) is a wine focused curio shop. Much of the merchandise is vintage bar ware that you just can't find. Lots of good R-rated coasters and tea towels as well. If you are in National Landing for any reason you should stop by this little gem.
