Maybe it’s the timewarp obsession with champagne and caviar. Or maybe it’s the fact it’s genuinely well-priced. "A retail therapy day is all about treating yourself, and Bébé Bob, a shiny, Soho Square extrovert, gets that. It comes from the same restaurant group that brought London the ‘Press For Champagne’ button and that OTT spirit is alive and well in the selection of caviars and sleek banquettes here. The menu is modern European, but really it’s the bits of the kid’s menu that gives adults a pang of jealousy. This kaleidoscopic, art deco pad of a restaurant mixes late ‘80s glamour with a straightforward menu. Sure, there’s caviar. And champagne. But beyond that, it’s like a children’s restaurant that’s been made to grow up.
