The 33 Best Restaurants in Zurich, Switzerland | Eater

"A large Turkish community calls Zurich home, and over time its food has begun to meld with local delicacies. Bebek’s full breakfast is a perfect example: Alongside Turkish white cheeses and jam, the meal — which is big enough for up to four people — includes Swiss smoked trout, a robust white fish. The accompanying bread basket also features gipfeli in addition to the more standard breads in a Turkish breakfast. Bebek is super busy on the weekends, so stop by on a weekday." - N.A. Mansour

Very nice and cozy atmoshpere. Loved the fact that the tables were big enough to hold all the dishes we ordered for our brunch and were also distant enough from the neighboring ones to keep some privacy. Overall great experience - we’ll definitely go back in summer when the garden will also be open :)

Google
Delightful place for Brunch! We had the Lebanese Teller, Halloumi Burger and a few other Mezzes, they were all very enjoyable. The Goat Cheese with Nectarine compote was especially delightful. Service was friendly, and the ambience is very cool. Industrial meets art deco - really livens up the space! Prices are on the steep end, but I do recommend if you’re feeling like a treat!

The place is nice and cozy. The staff was friendly, welcoming and pretty fast. The food was not bad, but it was underwhelming. Everything tasted bland. It was not a bad experience, but I don't think I would repeat it.

We had late breakfast, brunch. Portions were generous, food is excellent, great variety of dishes

Google
The best of this place is the atmosphere: First of all the turkish food there is definitely not proper turkish. Secondly we cook way better our selves at home, the food is pretty bad, overrated and way overpriced. Thirdly we told the waiter that the egg in the menemen should be well done: - when we told the waiter when they brought it she responded "i told them" so somehow she knew but she brought it anyway? - then there was a hair in it, and somehow she just ok I'll replace it. Without even sorry? Quite snobby Very basic food. Was there the last time probably like 8 years ago and definitely wont go there again. There are way better places.

We had a very nice experience. We took place outside and were immediately served by a friendly waiter. We tried the small appetizers mix, then two main courses (lamb and iskembe kebab). The lam was very tender, delicious!! Cannot complain about the food. We ended our dinner with sorbet (presentation could have been better than just adding a cookie). Quality/price fair! Recommended!

Google
Bebek is a very modern Turkish Lebanese inspired restaurant in the middle of Zurich. T The menu is fairly wide with something for everybody also vegan food. The services friendly and good. There was a small mistake and corrected it as they should . I was super happy. The food is nicely plated and tasty. The food is not very spicy, at least not what I got. The prices are average. The Turkish coffee was good albeit a little bit sweet. Overall, I can very much recommend this restaurant and I will return sometime.

Google
First time here and the food was interesting, a different menu to what I’m used to, and good options for brunch. Unfortunately, the service and attention very slow, as we waited 25min to place the order after being seated, and every time we ordered something else like the menu or desserts, around 10-15 min more. Nevertheless, kind. But you better go with time.

Yelp
Very high quality Turkish food. Great service. Reasonably priced by Zurich's crazy expensive standards. We got the works! Ate everything except the table. Delicious and authentic.

Ken K.

Yelp
Quality Turkish food in a beautiful environment. We scored a private table for four, but most of the tables are very close to each other, so maybe not great for a romantic dinner.

Yelp
One thing that stands out about Bebek is simply the ambiance. Inside you are welcomed with massive ceilings and an epic staircase. The concrete walls have subtle and strange art painted on them, and I'm a fan. If you find yourself atop the staircase, which you should, because who doesn't want to see what's up there? You'll find a cool bar with intimate seating, and the bathrooms. Those are kind of important. It fun to also look down at all the people eating. Like I said.. it's just a really cool set up and ambiance. The food is wonderful. I was kind of sick, and still really enjoyed it... that's saying something, eh? The moussaka was freaking delicious. Fantastic flavour and really nice blend of ingredients and textures. We also really loved the falafel. The other things we ordered (halloumi, oliven-labneh, tzatziki hummus, and tabouleh) made the meal absolutely delicious. The combo of awesome flavours and textures is totes key, and we smashed it! yes, I've apparently become an Australian surfer. Anyway, Bebek is a winner. Ambiance, CHECK, good food, CHECK, great service, CHECK!

Yelp
From the moment you walk in you can appreciate the chandeliers and concrete walls. I loved the decor and was happy to see that the food was even better. Everything was delicious and tasty. The dried fig salad was probably one of the best I've ever had. Hats off to the cooks and ‍ chef. Next time I'm in the area I will definitely stop by and recommend it. Cheers!

Yelp
Perfect place for a group dinner if you enjoy sharing family style! POSITIVES: high ceilings & really nice ambiance, spacious with many tables for groups, small plates for sharing, decent food at decent prices (remember...decent prices for Swiss standards) NEGATIVES: some of the meat dishes were too dry and the halva dessert was not like traditional halva, it's kind of strange and doesn't taste very good. Service was mediocre, they weren't super attentive. TIP: make a reservation beforehand for dinner, they get pretty full!

Yelp
Location is Great! But food was not as expected. Appetizer " from the chicken skewers a few pieces were raw in the middle" Ordered two main course on one with chicken breast a request to have instead of potatoes some spinach which was on a other main course, they acknowledged but brought me a salat" Asked for hummus with the main simply forgot it. The other main course was lamb chops, from 4 pieces 3 pieces were practically only fat. My dinner company was disappointed same as me... The salads and the food contain a lot of Oil and lots of sweetener which is totally unnecessary.

Yelp
Nice place, thanks to pleasant staff and interior. I have been sitting outside on a sunny working morning, enjoying the sunny weather: despite there was rush around, as it´s right next to a busy road with tram, the few bushes separating that lil garden hided me from the world around. I could have savoured their delish Bio-joghurt with nuts and honey and Veganer Hauskaffee mit Mandelmilch, Agavensirup, Sternanis, Zimt, Vanille which haven´t striked me that much :). They´ve got regular breakfast sets as well. Recommend it as a pleasant and trustworthy spot for trying out any meal of the day in the very center. I personally like their interior a lot.

Yelp
Quite spacious but it's always packed so feels rather cozy.. Especially mixed age/types of people (couples, group, family and business suite-people) makes this place feel comfortable for everyone. Food is great. Bruch has options for A la carte or set. Cappuccino is at 4.50 CHF, extremely reasonable for Zurich where you barely find it lower than 5.50 CHF. Service is friendly, good and reasonably fast. You get plenty of bread if you order mezza set. Highly recommended any time a day or week.

Yelp
I think I found my favorite restaurant in Zurich !!! The food is almost the same as Maison blunt (same owner). Oriental food. But the interior is really cool. It has a cosmopolitan feeling. It's huge and you have space enough. you have a second open floor where you will find a bar. It looks very nice and very relaxed. The staff is really friendly and have a clue about the wine. It's normal priced for Zurich I would say. Don't forget to book in advance. A place to try out !!!!

Yelp
This place is 4.5 stars, potential to be 5... It feels like this is the new hot spot in Kreis 4. Cafe Bebek is in a new building strip located at Badenerstrasse (Kalkbreite tram stop), along with other pretty cool new stores (beer store, Africa store, etc). It's a place for eating but also for drinks, and has a very relaxed yet creative posh interior design. Nice roomy building - pretty wide (like a horseshoe shape) plus a second level. Plenty of outdoor seating as well. The assortment is nicely varied, not too little but not overwhelming; and it has its special pleasantries. The drinks are simple yet delightful. Along with the alcoholic drinks, the non-alkies will love it here too. The peppermint tea is nice and plentiful - much better than Maison Blunt's peppermint tea, which has gone down in quality over time. I even suspect the owners may be related or the same to Maison Blunt. The chai masala latte is a nice interesting splash. The homemade iced teas are nice too. Food - Turkish/Lebanese style, very nice...similar to Maison... hmm... I do think this is a sister restaurant; but the much more stylish and upscale version. Feeling bohemian, go to Maison. Feeling poshie, come here. Love the chique gold chandliers...

Yelp
This is an interesting place from the decor to the location to the choice of food. I don't quite understand the theme with the basketball decals on the wall to the gorgeous Star Wars-Death Star-like chandeliers. The upstairs feels quite fancy while the outside seating area feels a bit "grunge" like Frau Gerolds. It's easily accessible with the tram stopping right outside it and there's tons of seating on the ground floor or second floor where you can see the trains going by through the large windows. I like the middle eastern(?) menu but the food wasn't anything special. But overall the place is intriguing and worth stopping by for a drink if you're in the neighborhood or catching a movie nearby.

Yelp
So we had a big mezze platter combination and frankly i only liked about half of them. But the things i liked were tasty and well seasoned. Its kind of an all you can eat combo where you order as much as you need. The staff is awesome, theres one waiter who is hilarious. It was hella pricey but at least we got to taste a lot of different things. Lots of vegetarian and even vegan options. Not too loud so you can bring your friends and have a conversation.

Yelp
Wow, fantastic breakfast! Pretty urban chic space with super high ceilings, concrete walls and chandeliers. Bread basket was huge and the croissants were perfect. I had the Oriental special which really seemed more Mediterranean to me. Greek yogurt with honey and granola was homemade and so refreshing. Egg dishes were cooked just right. Attentive and friendly service. This is a homerun.

Yelp
I like this place and escpecially the bar area upside. It has enough space and the service is fast. located at Kalkbreite and Kino Houdini, you have the tram station directly in front of Bebek. It is always crowded and you probably better reserve your place, if you like to go to eat inside. Forum Bar and Plaza Bar and Club is also nearby.

Yelp
A few friends and I went to Bebek for dinner and drinks. Right after dinner we were trying to let one of the waiters know that we were going upstairs for drinks. We don't speak German very well and during the communication we noticed two other waiters clearly (and loudly) laughing at us. I found this very unprofessional and outright unacceptable. We are not coming back.

Yelp
I came here on a sunny Tuesday morning around 10:30 and there were plenty of seats open outside. After getting the English menu, I was able to check out everything delicious they had to offer. First things first, I ordered an amazing iced coffee with milk. This was probably the best one I have had in Switzerland. It had the perfect ratio of coffee to milk and it was actually cold. For breakfast I ordered the scrambled eggs with sucuc sausage which is a slightly spicy turkish sausage. It came out in a decent amount of time and was a pretty big portion. Along with my eggs my meal came with a great selection of bread. Between the great service, ice coffee and breakfast, I would absolutely come here again! (Minus 1 star for a brief lapse in service.)

Yelp
Chique but not uptight. Best grilled halloumi ever! Great service although place was packed when we arrived. Enjoyed the athmosphere so much, that were finally the last ones to leave. Cool terrace in the trendy area of Wiedikon.

Yelp
What a gorgeous space! I loved the atmosphere so much! Didn't eat the good... Only drinks. The vino selection was small, but that could be due to the fact that we were sitting in the restaurant area and not the bar. Either way, it is a great place to meet friends!

Yelp
Super farm-fresh scrambled eggs--we US'ians forget what real eggs taste like. ...you know, not the kind that come from a chicken on steroids living in a shoe box. I also rec the fantastic bread basket, with a side of honey. They were very friendly and accommodating. Outdoor seating with blankets. Dog friendly

Yelp
Deco is extra, furniture great , lamps just right for the spot. The mezze is really fresh libanaise taste and the service perfect Hotspot in the neighborhood just reserve

Yelp
A good place for brunch. Large plates of small salads/dips for a large assortment of breads. Great homemade rhubarb lemonade. Prices typical Zurich.

Yelp
Love this place. Service is attentive and friendly, drinks are good and food is great - every time I come (which is regularly). Lamb meatballs and the bebek mersini are a must!

Yelp
The restaurant is super nice! The entire decor with those memorable chandeliers make it a great place to have brunch. I had the eggs with the tomato sauce and it was great. The place was fairly priced.

Alessandra D.

Yelp
Food is good and indoor decor is really nice! What needs to be improved is the exterior- it has very ugly chairs! But overall restaurant is good and good value for money.

Rob I.

Yelp
The interior design of the location is nice. The service tho can have a lots on improvement.sadly. The service needs professional schooling.

Nina C.

Yelp
The food tasted boring, it lacked spices but it took forever to serve, waited for an hour or so.One little apology, no free drinks offered. WE paid the bill and complained and we were offered coffee???? Never again, totally overrated.

Ilze W.

Yelp
Excellent lunch spot. I've been twice and both times I've loved the creative menu. The location near the tram garage adds to the character of the place and the atmosphere is classy without being pretentious.

Arthur R.

Yelp
As usually with new restaurants, I prefer to wait a few months before trying it out. This was also the case with Cafe Bebek. However, I must admit I was extremely disappointed. The room is very nice but the quality of the food I found wanting attention. The Tabouleh to start was extremely cold, so cold in fact that one could not discern any flavours. The "geschmorte haxe" was a sad little piece of meat (expensive for 36 CHF) and tough as an old shoe. The accompanying spinach was really flavourful but almost cold. The only thing that I and my companion found at least worth mention in a positive light was our waiter who managed to give good service and seemed rather embarrassed after I complained but alas; could only offer an espresso to try to save our complete disappointment.
