The 13 Best Restaurants In Brixton

"Beb’s is a homely Indian restaurant that serves an excellent range of curries, including some Goan specialities, in a caff-like room with red gingham tablecloths. Friendliness and comfort are top priority. Rose tea will be offered as you wait, complimentary cassava cake will come out, and the distinct feeling that you would like to be adopted by this lovely couple will occur. The food will also make you feel all warm and fuzzy: lamb xacuti is rich and spiced, and samosas are expertly made too. Needless to say: the big BYOB sign is also very welcoming." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, sinead cranna

Beb’s Kitchen Review - Brixton - London - The Infatuation

"When it comes to making you feel comfortable, lots of restaurants take the interrogation room approach. They take your coat, they pour you lots of water, and then they grill you on what you’ve been doing that day. It’s about as comfortable as a conversation when someone knows your name but you don’t know theirs. Some restaurants really do know how to make you feel comfortable though, and Beb’s Kitchen in Brixton is one of them. Beb’s is a homely Indian restaurant that serves an excellent range of curries, including some Goan specialities, in a caf-like room, red gingham tablecloths and all. Whether you’re eating in or taking away, friendliness and comfort is the number one priority. Rose tea will be offered as you wait, complimentary cassava cake will come out, and the distinct feeling that maybe, just maybe, you would like to be adopted by this lovely couple will occur. The food will also make you feel all warm and fuzzy: lamb xacuti is rich and spiced, and even if you’re just popping in for some samosas, they too are expertly made. Needless to say: the big BYOB sign is also very welcoming." - Jake Missing

We went to Bebs for a hen do and had the best time with Fernanda and her lovely family. The food was delicious, the vibes were immaculate. We had the best time doing karaoke and dancing. It was a great experience as a group.

Incredibly passionate and tentative service. An amazing family run business with authentic Indian food. Couldn’t recommend enough. An all round brilliant experience. Wish I took more photos of the food…

I’ve had some amazing take aways from here and have recommended it to many people. I decided to celebrate my birthday here earlier this year and booked the restaurant out. 3 people didn’t show up and one guest was a child. They charged me £120 for the people who didn’t show up… despite the amount of money my party made them and the fact that I was a loyal customer. Sadly I won’t be getting my Indian takeaways from here anymore. The owners are lovely but this experience has put me off unfortunately.

Fernanda is the loveliest owner ever. When they didn’t have what I ordered she phoned me to make sure the sub was ok and even offered to make some extra bajis a different day for me to collect, I told her not to worry because the substitute samosas were delicious!! All the food was so so good, next time I’ll be eating in the restaurant (it’s also byob). Bebs also use vegetable ghee in all their recipes so it’s a lactose intolerants dream. Thank you!!

10/10 Fernanda and Bebs are genuine and kind people. Firstly, before we arrived Fernanda was very responsive and shared a lot of information on the food choices and format of the evening. We had a range of 4 different curries between 10 of us - enough food for everyone, we even took some home! They catered well for all dietary requirements. Beb is a great chef - the food was very fresh and authentic. As a group of 10 we felt extremely well looked after. The Karaoke was very fun! We had songs for around 1hr - we had the best time. My friends made me a cake and Bebs got his guitar out to sing happy birthday. Fernanda and Bebs even sang a song for us at the end! For £40pp you cannot go wrong - best evening I have had in a while!

Bebs & Fernanda hosted me & 30 mates for my 33rd birthday. Booked out the whole restaurant for curry & karaoke - it was the perfect night! Delicious curry as ever, naan is excellent, birthday banners, cake, happy birthday singing, hilarious karaoke and above all, incredible vibes. It was very easy to organise the dinner with Fernanda over WhatsApp. Worth booking far in advance, as Bebs Kitchen gets booked up months in advance. Thank you Bebs & Fernanda for your generous hospitality and for making it such a special night.

We had such an amazing night at Beb's, I couldn't recommend it more. We booked a table for 20 of us on Saturday night as a surprise party. From the start Fernanda was a brilliant host, keeping in contact before and being so welcoming and accommodating on the night. Bebs himself is also such a brilliant chef and fun karaoke host. They both get really involved and make the night so special. I rarely leave reviews but this was honestly such a fun and unique experience. I can't wait to go back. Thank you Fernanda and Bebs!

I cannot say enough about Beb's. Mario and Fernanda are two of the most welcoming people I've ever met. They have felt like family since the first time I walked in here. Coming here is always a treat from the excellent food to the fantastic hospitality and karaoke

Yelp
First and foremost, this restaurant was amazing. The owner and his wife were so warm and welcoming. My brother and I checked out 3 other places in this area, but I am so glad we chose this. The meal was expertly prepared, with the perfect amount of seasoning. Everything was priced very fairly, and the portions were large. It was my first time having Indian food, and I'm extremely satisfied. The owners wife engaged us in conversation and we learned a lot about each other. It felt like we were hanging out with friends instead of our to eat. My mother and cousin and brother got food from another place, when they came in Beb's to tell us to meet in the car, she lovingly offered them plates and drinks to eat at the table. Something that restaurants NEVER DO. After everything we prayed as a group, and the next day she came to my brothers concert to support! Amazing people, amazing food, a STELLAR experience! Come here, and quick!! Next time I'm in London I'll be back!
