The 13 Best Restaurants In Brixton

"Beb’s is a homely Indian restaurant that serves an excellent range of curries, including some Goan specialities, in a caff-like room with red gingham tablecloths. Friendliness and comfort are top priority. Rose tea will be offered as you wait, complimentary cassava cake will come out, and the distinct feeling that you would like to be adopted by this lovely couple will occur. The food will also make you feel all warm and fuzzy: lamb xacuti is rich and spiced, and samosas are expertly made too. Needless to say: the big BYOB sign is also very welcoming." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, sinead cranna

Beb’s Kitchen Review - Brixton - London - The Infatuation

"When it comes to making you feel comfortable, lots of restaurants take the interrogation room approach. They take your coat, they pour you lots of water, and then they grill you on what you’ve been doing that day. It’s about as comfortable as a conversation when someone knows your name but you don’t know theirs. Some restaurants really do know how to make you feel comfortable though, and Beb’s Kitchen in Brixton is one of them. Beb’s is a homely Indian restaurant that serves an excellent range of curries, including some Goan specialities, in a caf-like room, red gingham tablecloths and all. Whether you’re eating in or taking away, friendliness and comfort is the number one priority. Rose tea will be offered as you wait, complimentary cassava cake will come out, and the distinct feeling that maybe, just maybe, you would like to be adopted by this lovely couple will occur. The food will also make you feel all warm and fuzzy: lamb xacuti is rich and spiced, and even if you’re just popping in for some samosas, they too are expertly made. Needless to say: the big BYOB sign is also very welcoming." - Jake Missing

A hidden gem. Prior to going was in two minds as to what to expect but this place went above and beyond my expectations. The owners (the hosts) were so welcoming, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was buzzing. Karaoke was a hoot with plenty of support from the diners using maracas and tambourines. Hilarious!

Wow, what an experience! A great way for anyone to have a celebration with great varied selection in set food menu, BYOB and fun, entertainment and laughter sure to be had! Fernanda was really lovely and attentive in the booking process and was a shame we didn't get to meet her but all the other staff went out of their way to make that special night even more special! It has to be the best place to have a private party in London!

This is possibly the best value and most fun night out in London. They charge £30 per person for a delicious 2 course meal. It is BYOB and they don’t charge corkage or service charge! You will be walking out with boxes of leftovers. The restaurant doubles-up as a karaoke party and by the time you’re 4 beers and a korma deep you’ll sing anything. The staff are the best thing about this place, go in and say hi to them. Couldn’t recommend enough, have been back 4+ times since my first. 11/10

A heart warming gem found in South London. A wonderful experience, we tried multiple dishes and all of them were delicious and flavourful. We were a large table and the other side of the room was also a large table. By the end of the night we were all bonded by this delightful karaoke experience. You can BYO beer wine and make a night of it. Ended up being £33 each. Very unforgettable and a truly wonderful experience. The family running the shop bring a lovely atmosphere and are amazing hosts. I hope everyone can book themselves in for a night at Bebs kitchen

On my first visit I received inedible rice, however upon receiving my feedback, the host was very keen to put things right. Fernanda is very genuine, has nothing but love in her heart and it clearly upsets her if any of her guests do not have a good time. However, as a take-away customer, my interest is in the food rather than the experience, although if you are an experience-first diner then bring your friends and you will have a five-star experience here. Suffice it to say, on my second visit the rice, in particular, was much improved and plentiful. The naan, although a shade small, was cooked perfectly with good aeration and colour throughout the base. Poppadoms cooked perfectly without too much oil. Unfortunately, having now tried both, it strikes me that perhaps Goan curries are not to my tastes, so perhaps it is a little unfair to judge them, but it leaves me curious how the more traditional dishes measure up, so I may be back one day to find out. My thanks to Fernanda for being such a kind host.

Magical place, Fernanda is soooo lovely. The food is excellent and there is no other place like this one when it comes to ambiance.... You just have to wait for the end of the service to discover that Fernanda and her husband are more than wonderful cooks and hosts... They also sing and get you to take part. Memorable place and time. I would go back every evening if I could....

Just the most fantastic restaurant in London. Not just for the food, but the warm welcome, the food, the friendliness and the fun! The karaoke is hilarious! Never laughed so much! By then end of the meal we were singing karaoke-not something I would normally do! The food is really fantastic and very fresh-super tasty. I like how you bring your own booze and glasses and no corkage charge. The owners are so friendly too, the kindest and warmest people ever. If you want good tasty Indian food, a laugh and some tunes come to BEBS!
