"Becca is located within the historic Cavalier resort, which is somewhere that everybody from JFK to Muhammad Ali has stayed. The restaurant has a gorgeous sunroom that makes you feel like you’re at high tea in an episode of Bridgerton, and makes a great backdrop for a special occasion or if you feel like dressing up. The desserts are the highlight here—the crème brûlée is executed perfectly and has a hint of peach in the custard, while the mile-high cavalier cake lives up to its name with layers of bourbon-soaked chocolate cake and espresso buttercream. After dinner, grab a drink at the Raleigh Room next door, which has excellent cocktails, live music, and petite balconies overlooking the hotel’s indoor splash pool. " - anne cruz

"Becca, meanwhile, is all Southern gentility and breakfast classics in a vintage garden room setting at the Cavalier Hotel. The bourbon brioche French toast, with cinnamon-pecan butter, is made using whiskey from the Tarnished Truth."

Best date ever! ❤️ Our server Dylan was fantastic—attentive, personable, bright, warm and made the whole experience seamless. The food was incredible, the restaurant was beautiful, and his service made it even better. We can't wait to go back and will absolutely be thrilled to request Dylan!!!! They're lucky to have him! (We got the oysters, she crab soup, lamb shank, and dessert sampler!)

We ate here for breakfast. Service was pretty good. We had french toast, waffles, smoked sausage, oatmeal and eggs. The food was fresh and well prepared. We stopped in for breakfast and had a great experience. The service was pretty good, and the food was fresh and well-prepared. We tried the French toast, waffles, smoked sausage, oatmeal, and eggs—everything was cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. A solid spot for a satisfying breakfast!

Upon arrival, the doorman, Robert, immediately welcomed us to the hotel. He was incredibly friendly and helpful as guided us to where we needed to go. We enjoyed a delicious meal at The Huntroom that night as well. The next morning we had a reservation at Becca, where we enjoyed our superb brunch and exceptional service from the staff, especially Sean, who went out of his way to ensure our experience was nothing less than phenomenal. His recommendations and friendly demeanor added to our amazing experience. We look forward to coming back SOON.

5 stars for everything. Top tier service from Aicha and Chef Dean. They were so kind to accommodate my request for non-dairy French toast. And let me tell you it was the BEST FRENCH TOAST I HAVE EVER HAD. We ordered it 2 days in a row. They went above and beyond and didn’t need to do that but they did and I was so appreciative because it made my day and weekend special to have a treat I could enjoy. Also the French Press coffee was divine. The restaurant is also stunning and the patio is very classy and elegant. I felt like I was sitting at a cafe in Paris in 1920s. Thank you Becca’s restaurant

I had the pleasure of being served by Maddie during my recent visit, and I couldn't have asked for better service! From the moment we were seated, Maddie greeted us with a warm and friendly smile, making us feel right at home. She was attentive without being overbearing, ensuring our drinks were always topped off and that we had everything we needed throughout the meal. Her knowledge of the menu was impressive, and her recommendations were spot on. Maddie's positive attitude and genuine care for her customers truly made the experience special. Highly recommend her as a server, she’s a true asset to the team!

We stumbled upon this hotel just walking around Virginia beach. Opted to stop for some brunch. The ambrosia was really good! The toasted merengue was different but not bad. The devil eggs were delicious and perfect to eat in one bite 🤤 They also have an afternoon tea from 1pm to 3pm with a pianist that comes in to play. Definitely plan on checking that out next time!

This place is AMAZING! I went there for my 21st birthday with my family this past Saturday, and everyone loved it! From the ambience to the food and decor, it was spectacular. Everything we ate was delicious. The she crab soup and Mesquite Grilled Fresh Catch were great. The tofu was so flavorful that you didn't notice it was not meat. The salads were superb. The peaches and shishito peppers tasted tremendous, and the peppers weren't even spicy. The calamari was good even though it was not fried. The Brie and bread was good. Everyone at the table loved their food. The birthday chocolate truffle was the BEST I ever had in my life. We had a fantastic waitress. She answered all the questions we had and was polite. I loved the outdoor garden, it was beautiful and it usually was cold each night, but it was not freezing, so we could take pictures. You have to come to Becca at least once if you are in Virginia Beach, you won’t regret it.

We tried Becca during our stay at the Marriott resort, very nice place with a wonderful atmosphere! We felt like we went back on time to the era of the 18th century, very elegant and sophisticated!! JD was awesome, very friendly, and provided a great service with a complementary delicious dish of oysters! One thing I would say for the sake of improving quality at this beautiful restaurant: the steak smelled like gas and was almost tasteless which was kind of disappointing..could do better in terms of cuisine :)

Yelp
We were a party of 7, celebrating a birthday. The guest of honor chose this spot because he's a prime rib fan, had eaten it here before, and was excited to share the off-season Wednesday night $29 prime rib special. This is really a fantastic deal, you get 12 oz prime rib, a side, and a glass of post & beam cab for just $29. The men in our party all ordered that, the four ladies in our party opted for other dishes. If I were just judging food, this would have been a five star evening because everything from the pre-dinner bread (a tasty popover) to the meal itself was outstanding. I particularly recommend the crab cakes!! They were absolutely perfect. This isn't a five star review though, because the service was very disappointing. Our waitress seemed very stressed and harried. It was a busy night for sure but there seemed to be ample staffing so I'm not sure why that was. She forgot to bring the wine to a few of us and needed several reminders. The worst, though, was the lack of steak knives. Two of my friends ordered filets and their steaks grew cold as they waited and asked multiple times. She finally said in an exasperated voice "no one is cleaning them, they're all dirty back there." Okay, so maybe that's a cue that someone needed to prodded to wash some? As an aside, one of my friends also made a big error in that when her wine order was taken she just absentmindedly pointed at her husbands glass of post & beam and said she's have that. She was thinking if the entire meal olus wine was only $29 then logically a glass of the wine wouldn't cost more than $29.. She was wrong. When the bill came, her glass of wine was $48. Stunned, we checked the menu because surely there was a mistake but no, it was accurate. The guys meals all showed $8 for the cost of wine and then an $8 deduction on the next line to reflect the dinner special. Make sure you check the wine menu if you're there on a prime rib night and make no assumptions. Service was 3 stars. Food 5 stars. Netting a respectable 4 star review here. If return, but probably not with anything larger than a party of 2, especially on a Wednesday.

Yelp
My party and I made a reservation for Christmas Eve dinner a month before December 24th with a clear preference of being sat inside the restaurant. I personally called the restaurant to make sure that my kind wish was clearly understood and will be followed up on. As the day came, we were escorted to the farthest corner of the porch area instead, although I tried my best to avoid the porch section. My objection was met with "I am sorry but we are fully booked for tonight". Although personnel tried to figure out how to make adjustments, I decided to opt for the seat in the corner as offered from the start and not put additional stress on them despite the fact that the area is rather chilly. That's first. Second, the whole dining experience took two hours and a half between collecting our menu choices, serving appetizers, main courses and cleaning used dishes off the table. Also, a glass of wine from another table was added to our bill. So, should I not have checked and verified, we would have been overcharged. SMH. I understand that mistakes happen but not for $235 bill where 20% charge was already included (!) which gives a server no incentive to perform above average and ours did not perform. Plates and drinks were rather thrown in front of us rather than presented as the restaurant of this caliber (according to self-proclamation) should be accustomed to. We had to constantly waive our waiter down to ask for additional items such as salt/pepper/sweetener or refill on drinks because there was no initiative on his side to inquire if we needed anything. The food was mostly tasty and savory though. I am giving four out of five for that experience. So thank you for that because everything else that makes this dinner event special and spectacular fell short of expectations. I will be back if invited as part of my friends' events but not on my own for a long time.

Yelp
Becca is a fantastic spot for breakfast! The outdoor seating adds to the charm, making it a lovely place to start the day. The ambience is delightful, and the landscaping is truly impressive. I found the prices to be quite reasonable for a Virginia Beach restaurant. Our server, Lalla, was outstanding--her cheerful demeanor and pleasant nature made our experience even better. I highly recommend trying the Signature BLT; it's a must!

Yelp
This restaurant impressed us from the moment we arrived, starting with the top-notch valet service at the entrance. Upon reaching the hostess stand, our reservation was ready, and we were promptly seated outside, as requested, on a lovely patio with a great view. Both the hostess and server greeted us warmly, provided water right away, and offered helpful recommendations. We ended up trying the crab cake sandwich and seafood omelette, both of which were bursting with flavor and quite satisfying. The seasonal mimosa, with a refreshing touch of mint, was the perfect complement to our meal. Even the bathrooms were spotless. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

Yelp
We made a reservation ahead of time since we wanted to sit in the sunroom area during lunch. Everything was quite smooth and service was reasonably prompt. We loved the Rockfish Provençal so much. I think the fish was of superb quality. The snow crab capellini was quite good but it was unexpectedly peppery. Lobster bruschetta was delectable & fresh. We ended with their baklava cheesecake, which I thought was unique and flavorful. The dishes were definitely pricey for the sizes that they gave so you paid for the quality and ambiance. I still wish the portions would be a bit more generous.

Yelp
First Impressions: We loved the five-dollar valet service--very convenient! Upon arrival, we noticed the guests in front of us were asked if they had a preference for dining outside on the patio or inside the dining area. Naturally, I expected the same for us. Unfortunately, when I inquired, we were told there was a 20-minute wait, but we weren't even given the option. On to the Food: We ordered freshly squeezed juice, bourbon French toast, and steak and eggs. The juice tasted store-bought, to be honest. The steak and eggs were delicious, especially paired with the roasted tomatoes and chimichurri sauce. However, my sister and mom couldn't get enough of the bourbon French toast! Atmosphere: The restaurant is nice, but the dining area does not compare to the patio seating at all.

Yelp
Becca is a very expensive 'meh'. It should be one of the best high end restaurants in Hampton Roads, but it just doesn't hit that mark. The food is good... but not great. The service is historically slow but always friendly. I've heard this problem attributed to various reasons over the years from kitchen issues to understaffing, but it's always been an issue. The ambience is good, but can't make the grade as a top tier restaurant as it's noisy, oddly cramped, and no enforcement of basic dress code. (Ball caps and t-shirts are not appropriate dinner attire at a supposedly formal restaurant. Try to change my mind). If it's not a formal restaurant, then there's no need to differentiate from the 'casual' restaurant downstairs. The kitchen opens directly into the dining room (like an old school diner) so half the restaurant gets a view, an ear full and a whiff of the kitchen every time a sever blasts through the doors (...which is about half a dozen times per minute). The meals ranged from great to disappointing. Great=Rockfish Disappointing=chicken in red glaze. Desserts were premade and thrown in the freezer then served up semi-thawed. Crème brûlée was served cold and the spongy bland cheesecake might have been from the 7/11 down the street. Overall...if I'm paying over $100 per person and getting a 20% tip added on by the restaurant, at least try to impress me. Becca needs to establish its identity (assuming it wants to be considered top tier) and maintain a high standard. Until that happens, go there with limited expectations and hope for the best.

Yelp
We were so excited to go to Becca on a Saturday night for date night. We knew the hotel would be gorgeous and the food would be amazing. We were seated at a lovely table for two and greeted by a friendly waitress that went over all the specials. Then we were told that the hostess seated us at the wrong table and they moved us to another table. We didn't mind at all mistakes happen. Our new waiter was Stephen S. Unfortunately his service was dissapointing. He was not very welcoming or attentive. Other than greeting us and taking our order he never spoke to us or checked on us all night. We hardly saw him throughout the night. I suspect he was on cigarette breaks a lot because when he brought our appetizer he wreaked so strongly of cigarettes. We had to flag him down after sitting with an empty glass for 20 minutes. But what surprised us the most was when he brought check back after we gave him a credit card, he put the check down and walked away without saying a word. We never saw him again. I couldn't believe he didn't say anything to us. It actually hurt my feelings. We were not rude or ugly in any way and my husband still gave him a 20% tip on the full price before our $50 gift certificate. I was just left baffled. How can you work at such a world class hotel and be a server relying on tips and be so dismissive to your customers. We will go back but we will make sure he is not our waiter.

Tina G.

Yelp
What a letdown. Wanted to do something special for my mom and thought we'd enjoy a fancy brunch at The Cavalier. It was very noisy, service was so slow, and the food was mediocre. Our order was incorrect and the worst part was there were eggshells in our eggs. Not just one eggshell--FOUR rather large pieces. I know people make mistakes, but I expect more from a place with these kind of prices and this sort of reputation. Also, the valet was a soup sandwich. We will go back to our regular local restaurants next time where the food and service are always stellar; Civil Libation, Blue Pete's, or Waterman's.

Danny B.

Yelp
The host staff and checkin was super. The decor is fantastic. Jeremy our waiter was great. The food was perfectly cooked. This is a must go for special or any occasion. Love this place. Well done.

Yelp
I took my mom out here for her birthday. I intended for this to be a brunch date, but I learned upon arrival that brunch is only served on Sundays lol SO we had lunch. This restaurant is located inside of the beautiful Cavalier! Parking - It's valet only, but it's $5 and you pay and tip after. We sat in the back of the restaurant where the most naturally lit seating is! Great atmosphere. I browsed all of the menus and the lunch options were my least favorite the food we ordered didn't disappoint though. Sean J., our amazing waiter, had great recommendations! We had the lobster bruschetta for an app. My mom had the herb roasted French dip and I had the braised short rib chasseur. My mom LOVED hers. The short rib was delicious, but could've been seasoned better. The dish also has lots of mushrooms so if you love them, you will love this dish. If you are like me and hate mushrooms, make sure you ask them to not include it . The service was outstanding from beginning to end. Sean was always a step ahead! He had our check prepared without us having to wait. I told him it was my mom's birthday and he acknowledged her every step of the way! I certainly recommend coming here!

Yelp
While staying at the Marriott we came here for dinner one evening. The experience was excellent!! Service inside this hotel, the Cavalier was excellent! If you ask an employee where something is, they take their time to explain and even walk you to the location you're asking about. This particular restaurant is nicely decorated to retain the period look. The menu is filled with nice, appetizing options. They give free popovers during dinner and they come with their recipe card too. Wine list was decent and reasonably priced. They also have a nice cocktail list. Their food was all very fresh, tasty, and beautifully plated. She Crab soup and their house salad were a couple of favs. Highly recommend stopping in, but be sure to make reservations, they're very popular!

Yelp
We had two completely different breakfast experiences here over the Christmas weekend. We had made reservations for both days, and almost didn't want to go back the second day but I believe they had a $25 cancellation policy, so we went and it was a much better experience. Sunday breakfast we had the misfortune of getting a Server who exasperated us. He brought me the wrong tea, but I drank it anyway. Mimosa was very good. Husband's Espresso Martini was good. He also ordered regular black coffee which was almost impossible to get a refill on. On the rare occasion we could get Sean's attention for a refill he would walk away, grab the coffee pot, and refill a Gentleman at another table. And never glance our way. After we received our food, I really wanted some jam to go with the toast, while Husband was ready to kill for coffee. Finally in desperation I asked another Server, which I don't believe in doing. Hated to bother her, but she was so kind to get both for us. Meanwhile, my expensive Lump Crab Omelet had some rather brownish avocado on top, and didn't have much crab in it. Was a bit overcooked. Husband's Crab Cake sandwich was good, the fries okay, but could have used a bit more frying. Manager came around and we did complain about our Server. Would have made us feel a lot better if they would have at least comped the coffee. Sean did apologize to us later and had lots of excuses. Fast forward to Christmas morning and we had a delightful Gal Server who took excellent care of us! Night and Day experience. Even the food was better. The Cavalier Benedict with lump crab was out of this world good! Husband loved his Steak & Eggs too! I was actually brought the tea I ordered and Husband got plenty of coffee refills.

Yelp
We tried Becca for the first time during Restaurant Week 2024 and my oh my, it was truly a 5 star experience! From the entrance lobby of the Cavalier Hotel down to Becca spoke elegance and romance. The service was top notch. All the employees were very attentive and professional yet friendly. For the foods that were served during restaurant week, all so delicious! I chose the butternut squash gnocchi for my appetizer and hubby got the she crab soup. Both were sooooo good. For our main course, we got Braised Honey Short ribs and cherrywood smoked poulet rouge and they were both exquisite. Our desserts were heavenly too. Bonus points, the restaurant offered kid's menu with NY steak for just around $15. My child devoured all of it. He said it was a Michelin Star! we all enjoyed our unforgettable dinner and can't wait to go back to try the other items on their menu.

Alison W.

Yelp
We topped off our weekend away in VA Beach at Becca for Brunch. We had high hopes as we enjoyed drinks at the Raleigh Bar and the Hunt room throughout the weekend. We requested to sit on the patio since the weather had cooled down a bit and we enjoyed the canopy and garden view. I think the server was new, which we totally understand. However it took her 20 mins to acknowledge us and 35 mins to get our drinks. Admittedly, there weren't many people on the patio when we were sat. For brunch we ordered half a dozen oysters and steak and eggs for us to share. It took almost another hour to get our food. The eggs were soft and creamy -perfect. The NY steak was quite small and so tough and dry we couldn't eat it. The oysters were flavorless. We expected much more for the price point. We had such a pleasant experience at other places within the Cavalier. Perhaps this was a fluke. It was recommended by a friend who has been here many times with positive experiences. .

Yelp
Went with a few ladies for the illumination celebration had reservations for an early seating to enjoy brunch / lunch. The Becca was decorated beautifully for the holidays!! The food was delicious! Unfortunately I had to send my bacon back to be cooked more. I requested it to be cooked crispy and it didn't quite make the mark. Everyone enjoyed their food!! The dessert was honestly the best part of the meal!! The service is where the issue was!! We did not get off to a great start! But we finished strong only because we had a manager get involved. He then assigned a new server to us for the dessert portion of our meal. The first server took a while to come to the table to greet us. I stopped a server that walked by to ask her a question and she asked us if we wanted water and gave us all water. Once our server came it appeared we were bothering her that she had other things pressing to do. She was quick to bring something to the table and disappeared like a super hero. We asked another server if he could get us a manager. The manager was nice and listen to our concerns. He did not inform us that he was assigning another server. She popped over and introduced herself. She actually has been there for sometime I've had her in previous visits and she is an amazing server!! I will say I was disappointed and not impressed with the Becca the only reason they got 3 stars was due to the dessert and the 2nd server. I'm not sure if I would go to the Becca again. There is an expectation when you go to the Becca and they unfortunately failed the expectation. My three other friends felt the same

Yelp
My daughters gifted me a weekend at The Cavalier and we had a great time! Becca is the main restaurant at the hotel and we ate breakfast and dinner here. It is a really pretty restaurant with exceptional service. The food was pretty good too. Here's my thoughts: Breakfast was really good! I had a veggie, ham and cheese omelette that was delicious. My daughter had eggs Benedict and my other daughter got the waffle and a side of grits. The grits were amazingly good and we enjoyed the entire meal. When we had dinner, I had beef carpaccio that was just okay. It was so salty! For my main I had mahi-mahi that came with Israeli couscous and roasted carrots. It had a lobster cream sauce. It was just okay. The carrots were undercooked and the lobster sauce was good but the one tiny piece of lobster I had was ice cold, so it was clear it was pulled from a fridge and added at the last minute. My oldest daughter got a Caesar salad and she crab soup, which she liked. My youngest daughter got butternut squash gnocchi and the filet. She won the prize for ordering the best food. Her gnocchi was fluffy and really good, but for the cost the portion was tiny. The filet was perfect! It came with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Overall this was a great option for meals. I wish I had tried some other options but I will be back for sure and will try something else.

Jodi D.

Yelp
Horrible experience! Do not eat here. The food is horrible. The service is horrible and when you valet park your car they make you go get it yourself. This is the third time we have bad terrible service and we will NEVER go back. We called several times to speak with managers of restaurants and the general manager of the hotel and nobody will speak to us. Funny how they are unavailable all of the time. They must have so much business that they don't care about their locals.

Melissa T.

Yelp
The service and ambiance are amazing here! The Cavalier as a whole is just a great experience! And they have live music playing in the bar area. Food wise, man does it lack seasoning/flavor. It stinks when you go to places that cost a little bit more money, but then the food doesn't match. Presentation of the food is beautiful (pictures don't do it justice). But the flavor isn't there at all. We went for a girls night for my birthday. We had an absolute blast! But I have yet to go back to Becca's to eat.

Johnathan S.

Yelp
Wow Becca is absolutely beautiful! My wife and I went out on a little date night to enjoy ourselves out dressing up. We made a reservation on the Open Table App so it made it easy to get our table. Just pulling up the restaurant in Virginia Beach is breath taking and it really sets the mood for a classy night out. They have valet parking which is not bad ($5) you can call for your car at the end of the night and tip on their app so that was nice and easy! We sat in sunroom area of the restaurant and wow it was just beautiful with the lighting and ambiance and everything came out so beautiful and the food was JUST AMAZING! I had the steak and my wife had the salmon and we got a nice cheese and fruit charcuterie appetizer. Oh and their BREAD is delicious do ask for it. It is freshly made bread from one of their bakers. This is a must try place to eat at when you are in Virginia Beach! Do make a reservation because they are typically booked on the day of.

Breyona A.

Yelp
Went here for a birthday dinner and loved the ambiance! Super cute and fancy vibes. I would recommend dressing up a little (Business Casual attire). Our service was really great and fast. She was also very attentive and gave us refills without us having to ask. I ordered a salmon entree meal with brocollini which was really good! Definitely will be returning - this is the perfect place to celebrate any occassion.

Teddy W.

Yelp
We had an ok dinner the night prior. Drinks were good, portions were good save perhaps the she crab soup appeared to have smaller portions. I didn't take pictures last night but the duck was an average. Perhaps a bit dry? Just made me regret not getting the steak. Breakfast was really good and the service - like every other part of the experience at The Cavalier Hotel - was incredible. The ambiance here is amazing! There were several flies buzzing around on the indoor patio area. I think we would have preferred the outdoor patio. The food was good but the dining experience is just not quite to the level of excellence as everything else about The Cavalier. We loved our experience and will keep coming back, but there is some opportunity here.

DeAnna E.

Yelp
Ambiance is nice. A little upscale so wear your nice clothes. Ordered the oysters on the half shell. Loved them. They were perfection on a plate. BUT the rockfish came out smelling like the James River in RVA. Not good. The staff said the fish was fresh...I don't believe them unless it was fresh from Sysco. Unfortunately the kitchen would not work with me on finding an alternative. Very disappointing!!!! The service was okay. I had to ask for more water and never received the wine I ordered. When the check arrived I had to search down someone to remove the rockfish from the ticket.

Liberty G.

Yelp
Step into a world of sophistication and refined ambiance at this establishment. The elegant atmosphere exudes a sense of exclusivity, complete with a dress code that adds to its allure. During the off-season, the spacious interior offers a tranquil escape, allowing guests to fully appreciate the exquisite menu offerings. While the portions may be smaller than expected, each dish is meticulously crafted. The attentive service, including a personal check-in from the manager, enhances the overall dining experience. Don't miss out on their irresistible homemade ice cream--it's an absolute highlight!

Alyce J.

Yelp
I opted to purchase the heated igloo for our group as a surprise. At first look, it's so cute, it look cozy! I called 50 times to make sure they had gluten free options because it only says "a la carte menu", no one answers any phone lines. Finally got through and the operator was so kind to help me, and they said yes they can accommodate. It's $107 for the igloo, doesn't go toward the minimum spent and I feel like I paid extra to freeze for dinner. The Bluetooth speaker wouldn't connect and the heater isn't nearly enough. We froze. Our feet were ice cold when we left, noses running. Food was good...not great. We all had the featured prime rib. Ordered a wedge salad and it wasn't a wedge at all it was random small romaine scattered with vinegar, 2 tomatoes and a couple bacon bits. No blue cheese, no balsamic drizzle like you'd expect. We opted to send back which none of us ever do. For a place like the Cavalier I feel like spending $100 on an experience shouldn't be as rough as it was. We weren't able to place drink orders until 30 min after being seated. Ordered blue cheese olive martinis. Came out regular. (Remember it's freezing in there so waiting 30 min with no drinks was memorable since we were shivering) Ordered ginger ale for a pregnant woman 4 different times before getting it right before leaving. Our server was kind and worked hard but the overall service and food at Becca just isn't worth it anymore. Price for food was fair. Portion was good. The flavor was "ok". The ambiance was not enjoyable or romantic by any means. I would absolutely never pay $100 to freeze and run the server to death being outside, and likely frustrated even though she didn't show it. I think we all felt guilty asking for anything, even something like no salt and pepper on the table. It's tradition for us to go during the holidays for the decor and photos but I think in the future we will visit another restaurant because it's gone downhill every time we visit. The decor was beautiful but if we come back it'll only be for a glass of wine and the their decorations. I would give less stars but our server worked so hard I hate for this to somehow reflect on her. If I'm being fair the food was 3/5 and the igloo was 1/5 stars. How this helps someone make a decision on the igloo or helps Becca figure out how to manage the heaters/service outside.

Yelp
We visited Becca for the first time with friends in town for an event. While waiting for our food, a 15-pound wreath fell from the wall, hitting my friend on the head and spilling water and drinks on her and her phone. The wreath appeared poorly secured, likely with a command strip rather than a proper hook or nail. It took 5-7 minutes for the restaurant and Food & Beverage managers to respond. The restaurant manager was initially condescending, asking how many fingers he was holding up before realizing the seriousness of the situation and asking if my friend needed medical attention. She declined but requested compensation. At first, he only offered to dry clean her pants, and we had to insist for him to cover her meal, despite the whole table being affected. The Food & Beverage manager was more polite and apologetic, but for a restaurant at the Historic Cavalier Hotel with such high prices, the service was unacceptable. This was not a minor issue, and the restaurant manager needs significant customer service training to handle serious incidents appropriately.

Yelp
We enjoyed a beautiful breakfast here with wonderful service. The coffee was fantastic and we both loved our breakfast. The restaurant is very pretty and we sat inside looking out over the garden.

Yelp
Short and sweet. Food was a 3, service was a 0... And that ruined the evening. You guys need wait staff that actually does their job. The older guy that "waited" on me basicly dropped plates on the table and ran away before anyone could utter a word. Never asked if I needed a refill or anything. Then, to add insult to injury, a 20% tip was included in the check.. To sum it up, food was fair service was non existent and the price was too high for the quality. Certainly a memorable evening to be sure..

Yelp
Overpriced, service was almost non existent, and food was at best mediocre. The chilled soup is NOT peach (or seasonal) fruit but rather cucumber soup with a hint of fruit. Tremendous disappointment. One of group didn't eat anything that was served. No one took leftovers and there was plenty of left over food. Ambiance was nice. But pay to eat food, not sit pretty and have subpar food.

Yelp
We came to dinner while vacationing in Va beach. We had gotten a recommendation from friends about this and our hotel valet also gave high marks. The restaurant is part of the Cavalier Resort which is quite beautiful in its own rights. We decided to eat on the patio which was a fantastic and tranquil space. The food, drinks and recommendations were all perfect. Orders came out slowly, but not in a bad way. We did not feel rushed as some restaurants do to flip the table, but we also didn't feel that the service was slow. The waitress checked in often and the food came out great but gave us time to talk and breath between courses. We absolutely loved the place and was our best night out while at the beach. We were probably in the restaurant over three hours and would loved to stay longer because we were have such a great time. This is a keeper. Will come here every time we visit Va Beach.

Yelp
Definitely in love with the aesthetics of this place! The restaurant has 3 different versions (an indoor dining/ indoor garden dining / outdoor garden dining). If the weather isn't in your favor you have options!!! My mother and I had their Sunday Brunch and due to it being packed the only availability they had was at 12:15pm but the hostess was very sweet and kept an eye out for whenever there were cancellations. Luckily for us someone cancelled their reservation at 11:15am. My mother ordered the crab cake sandwich and I ordered the tarnished truth injected farmhouse. Crab Cake Sandwich $22 - (extremely tasty /filling and light at the same time and soft) 1000/10 Tarnished Truth Injected Farmhouse $23 (steak with poached eggs - the steak tasted really good but cold) the waitress took the steak twice but it was still cold. It could be my luck but I would rate is 4/10. The waitress Aisha was so upset that I couldn't enjoy my steak so she insisted I order something else which I ordered the Cavalier Burger, it's not the typical burger you would get so I had mixed feelings about it but my mother loved it. It was extremely fresh and hot. 6/10 (due to personal preference ). The waitress also offered us 2 cappuccinos and white cheesecake as an apology for the inconvenience. IT WAS ALL AMAZING!!!! Definitely love the place, the staff, the food!! Coming here everytime I visit Va Beach

Yelp
Terrible service! Server, Josh ignored our table while attending other tables. We were there for over two hours and my food was overcooked. I would much rather go to Aldo's where service and food is top notch! Left a few messages for management to call me back and they never called. They clearly don't care about their customers. Don't waste your money here!

Yelp
We went to this place today for Thanksgiving and none of us was impressed. The menu I signed up for in October isnt what was served today. They changed their menu regarding the turkey, the bread, and the desserts. We were expecting a quarter portion of dark meat cooked in confit. Instead we received all white meat, very little stuffing and cranberry sauce. The greens werent seasoned and they were tough. The pastry with mushrooms as an appetizer was laughable. Pastry was hard and dry. No flavor at all. Parker house rolls were disappointing. My soup tasted like baby Gerber food, and my bread pudding was hard and dry. I spent $447.00 there but never again. I dont remember any christmas music playing either. The place is decorated with large Poinsettias that they arent watering so I told a manager that they are beginning to wilt and die. Servers werent friendly and I didnt hear any entertainment. Valets werent friendly and warm. For an historical hotel the service and food is subpar. The hotel is beautiful and its such a shame they are poorly staffed. Every worker seemed unhappy. Last year I did the buffet and it was amazing. Entertainment was top notch. I dont know whats changed in a year? Maybe they need to hire an experienced Chef?

Yelp
Becca is located in the gorgeous Cavalier hotel, which immediately means I may be back, even though it wasn't the perfect dining experience. We planned to come visit within the next few weeks, but saw an ad on social media about their Monday night burger specials and decided to do it right away. $18 for a burger, side and glass of wine is unbeatable. Atmosphere is lovely. Decor is great. Highly recommend making reservations. We made them just a few days in advance and there were plenty available, however on the day of, I checked and the pickings were very slim. We were seated inside since the patio wait was a bit longer. In the future, I would like to experience their gorgeous patio. Service was insanely slow. Our burgers took an hour and 20 minutes, which is truly insane. Our reservation was at 6:45 and we didn't leave until almost 9pm. This would be appropriate for a large party with multiple courses but it was only 2 of us. Yes, I ordered an appetizer which came out super quickly, but nothing else hit the table for close to an hour after that. We almost asked for our meals to be boxed up to take home. In addition, my friends' glass of wine took over 20 minutes. Our server was nice and we couldn't tell if this was in his control, but it definitely disrupted a smooth evening. The best thing we ordered was the side of Jumbo Crab Mashed Potatoes. Would order again.

Yelp
I discovered Becca as I was checking food options for the Seahill Spa at The Cavalier Hotel. We did not know about the dress code so we were dressed in casual dresses. Most people at brunch were dressed in athleisure so casual is fine. The food was astonishingly delicious. I had the shrimp and grits which were served with smokey cheesy grits which I could eat every single day. My companion and I shared the chocolate croissant which was warm and loaded with melted chocolate. The service was impeccable!

Yelp
Food was spectacular! The salad in my Caesar salad was chopped up in small bites - just how I like it! She crab soup was full of crab and full of sherry cream sauce... which I adore. You cannot beat the service. From walking in and out you are met with friendly faces. Calling this the Cavalier of hospitality and restaurants is truly what it has earned. Ask for outside seating, if it's hot they will accommodate you under an umbrella. There is something for everyone here. I am highly impressed. P.S. check out the hotels museum next to Becca!

Yelp
Food was absolutely horrible. Got the she crab soup and it tasted like balsamic vinegar instead of she crab soup. It had very little crab in it. The service was great which is why I gave it a 2 overall. The ambience was romantic but the kids was so loud at times I couldn't hear my wife talk. The salmon was supposed to be cooked medium well and it was dry as ever, although it was well seasoned. No worries. It is my last time eating at Becca for a while. We ended up going to a tiki bar at the Embassy Suites. It was phenomenal.

Yelp
What in the world has happened to Becca and the top of the line service and food that is expected from the Cavalier? It is tradition for my girlfriends and I to go every December to celebrate birthdays and Christmas and see the beautiful decorations. We had a 12:30 reservation (made 3 weeks ago) and the hostess seemed very frazzled and said our table wasn't ready. So we waited 10-15 minutes and then she was very rushed in getting us to the table, walking way in front of us. She forgot to give us menus.... and much to our surprise, it was not crowded. When we finally got menus, we were a little shocked by the prices compared to last year. The soup and sandwich combo went from $15 to $22. I got the Green Goddess Sandwich, which was terrible. The toasted bread was cold and somewhat stale and it had a few leaves of lettuce, a few cucumbers and I didn't taste any avocado all for $14! My friends ordered salad and the waiter brought out 1 or 2 at a time, so it took about 10 minutes for all of us to get our food. (There were 5 of us) The Mimosa drinks were $18 each!! The service was less than desirable. I will say the African American women cleaning the bathroom was the nicest employee that I encountered. Then, we went to pay the $5 for the valet and he said, "The $5 is for the hotel and tips are not included for us." He pulled up my car and left...no door opening or greeting. It was very disappointing, and we will be changing the venue for our Holiday outing.

Yelp
The Becca restaurant is located in the historic cavalier hotel! The actually restaurant itself is gorgeous and it's an upscale experience eating here. I've mostly come here for brunch and I get the Cavalier Benedict every time! It's so good and the portion size of crab meat is generous! It's also fun to start of the meal with a yummy cinnamon roll! The brunch prices range from about $15-25 an entree so it's a more expensive brunch however I think the experience eating here and the quality of the food is well worth it! As for the service - when I've had brunch here I've had great and attentive service. When I have come here for dinner the service was much slower. Since that dinner experience I now only come here for brunch and have had a consistently good experience

Yelp
My wife and I dined in at Becca this evening for our 1 year wedding anniversary and it was incredible!! Our server Michael was attentive and had excellent customer service. The food coming out of Chef Sherman's kitchen is out of this world! The Oysters were incredible, the Pork Chop special was the best pork chop I have ever had in my life! Thank you so much for an absolutely perfect evening!!

Yelp
My husband and I had dinner the other night at Becca's and it was delicious and our waitress, Mykelle was excellent. However there still seems to be a service delay, either due to management or understaffing. With all that Becca has to offer - their elegance, great food, and accommodating staff, you would think this one area could be improved upon.

Yelp
The Becca Restaurant & Garden was amazing! Ambiance was truly classy and elegant. Everyone dressed to impress. We came here for dinner to celebrate an anniversary and were not disappointed with our choice. One of the first things our waitress asked was if we were celebrating anything and once we told her it was our anniversary, she mentioned that we would get a free chocolate truffle dessert on the house which I thought was super sweet. Our waitress, Anastasia, was superb! Very informative, as it was our first time here. Super accommodating, professional and sweet. She topped off our waters every chance she could, checked on us quite often (but not too often). She made us feel very important. The food was exceptional! We received their complimentary bread (which was HUGE). They even gave us a small card with the recipe on it so we could make it ourselves! The honey butter the bread came with was extra fluffy and sweet (honey was sourced locally - AWESOME). The she crab soup was packed with flavor and super creamy. We ordered the truffle agnolotti and it was sooo good, the truffle flavor was not overpowering and had just the right amount of lemon in it to balance out the flavor. The duck confit rolls were AMAZING. I am not typically one to go for duck, however they cooked this to perfection. It was like a perfectly-cooked, savory, duck egg roll and was paired with a balsamic fig reduction and this balsamic fig was surprisingly very sweet! The two paired together was harmonious. Our entrees were absolutely scrumptious. The crab cake was one of the best I've had in this area. Not dry at all, very flavorful on a bed of fresh veggies with some lemon butter - amazing combination! My partner got the pork tenderloin, again, cooked to perfection. Paired with the veggies, balsamic fig reduction, mustard seeds, pepper jam and Dijon dill, it surprisingly wasn't too "busy". Everything complimented each other and it was great! The side of truffle fries was packed with truffle and Parmesan flavors. I honestly didn't think the garlic aioli was needed, although it did add more texture. Their house cut is pretty thick as well! When it was time for dessert, they mentioned gifting us with two free glasses of champagne as well on top of the chocolate truffle which I thought was super sweet! We were so full by this time but really wanted to try another dessert aside from the truffle, so we got the sorbet trio. The trio included a lemon, mango and raspberry flavor. The lemon was very tart and sour! However the mango and raspberry were very sweet, so the 3 flavors together worked really well to balance out the sweet and sour. We ended up mixing the lemon with half of the mango and half of the raspberry to create a raspberry/mango lemonade flavor and it was scrumptious. Overall, our experience was nothing short of amazing! It is a bit on the pricier side, but we were very happy with the quality of the food and service. Plus we were STUFFED (I thought since it was more of a fancier place that the portions wouldn't be as filling, but i was wrong!). It was definitely worth every penny. We plan on coming back for more special occasions, and to one day try their brunch menu :)

Yelp
If you intend on eating here, please be prepared to dedicate several hours of your day. We had reservations but despite several empty tables, we still had to wait quite a bit. Once seated, it took our server about 45 minutes to make it to our table to get started with orders. The restaurant was out of multiple menu items (the menu is very small to begin with) and they were out of the vegetarian entree. (Note to people on a plant based diet, please eat somewhere else prior to coming here, you could be a bit disappointed.) The place was clean and it was really nice, just don't expect a quick in and out situation. He food was okay, was not blown away by the $55 steak....

Yelp
If you're looking for IG worthy place, this is def it! Food took a while to come out. Don't remember if it was good but it wasn't bad. Love how you can only valet. Makes you feel fancy!

Yelp
The food was not good. I was expecting more. We ordered the ham and cheese sandwich. She didn't touch it my daughter I ordered the French dip. They said it was supposed to be good. No the quality the meat was really fatty and they covered it with cheese so you couldn't see the meat kind of fatty. my other daughter ordered a crab cake and she ate it. I tasted it wasn't any good. The french fries were kind of big and soggy but I ate them because I was hungry. I had a cranberry drink and french fries, the ambience was awesome. We walked around and enjoyed it. we were thinking about getting desserts, but too sweet and they didn't have any coffee-made we would just goback for a drink and the ocean

Yelp
This was our second time here but with a smaller party. The first time we visited was for my daughters PhD. Celebration. We scheduled brunch and were pleased with the service and food. We initially sat outside, but the weather interrupted that plan. We ordered mimosas, crab soup, salad with chicken and a crab cake sandwich. All were very good.

Tania R.

Yelp
Food was ok not super flavorful but not totally bland. I tried the crab cake and it was full of crab. The ambiance really makes this place worth the visit. The espresso martini was excellent.

Yelp
Before I begin let me start off by saying that this review is based solely upon my personal experiences and my personal experiences alone, so with that being said let's ride!. My wife and I arrived here for a dinner birthday party, we walked in and immediately spotted our dinner party table. We sat down and started to mingle with our friends and family. I would say with no exaggeration we waited at least an hour before our food finally arrived. Our drinks took a little while too but not as long as it took our food. My wife ordered she crab soup as an appetizer and it never came out to our table, plus the had the nerve to put it on our bill. Wow, really!!. I ordered a drink which I believe was called the Ghost Cat which was pretty good but not plentiful at all, so I ordered another, as I started to drink it a piece of a green stem of sort was sucked up threw my straw... I don't know what it was but I do know it wasn't supposed to be in my drink. I didn't make a big deal about it I just finished my drink and decided I was done with beverages for the night after that! I ordered a 16 ounce steak dinner, medium well and it was overly charred and took away the flavor of the steak, I advised the waiter of this and he kindly brought out another, this time I decided to have it cooked to medium temperature and it came out looking and tasting good! I will say the service was very slow but quite nice and professional, so with all that happened we will be returning for another meal and great food and service!.

Yelp
Shockingly bad service. And evidently, not friendly to people of color. My parents, a middle aged Asian couple, went here with their friends this past Saturday. Their friends are a middle aged Caucasian couple and they sat facing each other. Their server, a short middle-aged redhaired man, REFUSED to service my parents. First, everyone ordered drinks. The server placed down the drinks for the white couple. For my parents, he made them take them from him. Later, cutlery - instead of placing down the steak knives for my parents, he held them out so they had to reach over and get them theirselves. And lastly, he cleared the plates for the white couple but NOT my parents, asking them to clear them themselves. You could chalk his behavior up to being unprofessional, which wouldn't surprise me, but given that it was targeted only at the Asian couple and not at the white couple, it's pretty clear he just didn't want to service my parents. And funnily, their seating arrangement was such that he could have easily reached the two men. But why did he place down cups and cutlery and plates for the two white people and force my Asian parents to do his job? I left Virginia Beach years ago and am only visiting from New York. We used to deal with racism from servers quite frequently 10 years ago. Sad to see discrimination hasn't changed here - my parents like Becca, but this experience really upset them.
