Beccofino

Went here with a big group (~10 people) and they handled it like pros! Service was great and we waited a little for our food, but not too long considering the size of our group and the fact they brought everyone's dishes out at once. I got the penne alla vodka and it was great. It was a large portion and the sauce was creamy and tangy at the same time, with a small hint of sweetness. For dessert we shared some chocolate fudge cake and it was rich and sweet, and came paired with whipped cream and ice cream that had a hint of cinnamon. A unique and tasty flavor profile. Overall I would definitely recommend Beccofino, for big or small groups!

We celebrated a birthday in this place and I can tell you that this is the best place to be. The waitresses (Jessica and the beautiful blonde woman) are so patient and on point with whatever you need plus the food is amazing and sumptuous. The vibe of the place and the lights inside makes it even more intimate. I highly recommend this place! Such a gem in this Riverdale neighborhood!

First time dining at Beccofino ! Referred to by friends. 5 Stars all around we had a very positive experience. Excellent food at very fair pricing we will certainly go back again.

Nice small quiet place. Food was really good. Has Cavatelli with Broccoli Rabe & Sausage, the Sausage was hot but it didn’t say it on the menu, which was fine for me b/c I like spicy food. It was really good. Will definitely be back.

Best Italian restaurant in Riverdale.. Fresh, cook to perfection, a must try.

There’s not much to say, 5 star service and 5 star food. The food is comparable to the Italian food I’ve had in the Little Italy section of the Bronx. The service was also good when I went. Pasta dishes average about $20 a plate. Would definitely go again.

I shared two entrees with a friend. Veal milanese & breaded pork chop. Everything was truly delicious! Service was incredible!

I can see why this place once had a Michelin star ... based on food quality it should again everything iv tried has been fabulous perfectly made .you can go wrong quant location great friendly attentive staff. Reminds me of a European restaurant tucked away ready to serve. Don't sleep on this place it's the place to eat quality Italian food.

My family and I went into one of our favorite restaurants tonight Beccofinos and of course it didn't disappoint. They had a rather large catering order so we had to wait pretty long for the actual dinner but before my dad could say a word our server Maria said that the owner would like to buy us dessert since we waited a really long time for the food. It impressed me that we didn't even have to say a word as they knew it took longer than it should have and they were making it up to us. Service like that wants you to come back. Besides the food and the atmosphere always being top notch Maria's service is always exceptional. I know I probably sound like I'm beating a dead horse but if it wasn't for her we wouldn't go in as much as we do. They show their valued customers how much they are valued. I wish I would have taken a picture of the dessert they gave us OMG amazing. We got stuffed mushrooms and calamari for appetizers and the mushrooms were WOW. I will say that my salmon dish was to die for. My aunt got the veal Milanese, uncle got the stuffed flounder, my dad always gets the chop chop salad along with my mom who got the manicotti. THIS FOOD NEVER DISAPPOINTS

We hosted a small family gathering at the restaurant. From start to finish the service was impeccable. Our waitress Eileen was perfect! And the food is always delicious as this is a restaurant that we frequent. Thank you JP for accommodating us and assigning Eileen to our group.

And just like that- another Customer lost. We had a good meal a month ago, but tonight was bad enough that a return is unlikely. After a pleasing shared Beccofino salad, our main courses went AWOL. We watched for quite awhile while others were served multiple courses, the oddity unnoticed by our waiter or a manager. He finally came by to say it would be just a few more minutes. At least another 20 minutes later they arrived; one not as good as last time, the other pasta had been half cooked and then burnt in the reheating and still hard. No one checked on us for another 20 by which point we really didn't care anymore. No real apology, nothing done to bill or a drink offered or whatever. My brain might say "it happens" but my stomach is more emotional.

This cozy neighborhood establishment serves up such delicious dishes. You will not go wrong with the beverage selection. The staff listens and gets it right. If you're ever in the area. Get some!!!!

I received threatening messages on my social media to my different accounts after posting the previous honest review. This is not ok.

I've visited twice now for take out only the service has been consistent. Pasta is good and fresh. The first time I tried the stray and jay which consist of Fettuccine, Prosciutto, Peas, Parmesan, Cream very yummy I enjoyed this and was definitely shareable for two. I also for mozzarella sticks which were huge and garlic bread overall very delicious. The 2nd time I got Pappardelle it brought black angus Ragu , parmigiano Reggie basil marina very yummy with some calamari everything was delicious would continue to order form here.

We had a reservation for a family dinner on Mother's Day. We waiting for a half an hour, but were never seated. There were (at least) three other families (with similar reservations) waiting. Service seemed chaotic. Let us hope they can get it together soon.

Beccofino is one of very few restaurants in Riverdale. We came here on a whim and we're so happy with our dining experience. The servers are very hospitable and the food is good! We started off with the fried calamari, which is a must in my book. I had the pappardelle with ragu for my entree which was also very tasty.

I've been living in Riverdale for over 4 years now.. and i never got to this place. Finally today, I walk in with my husband and I must say the food was really really good. The portions are big enough to share; the location was packed (which is a good indicator of good food).. can't complain.. Manicotti and a chicken parm w/ pasta.. hubby had 4 beers and a chocolate cake $75. I recommend!

The food was INCREDIBLE the waitstaff was attentive, kind and enthusiastic about the quality of the business. The restaurant itself was pretty small so be sure to make a RESERVATION for dinner because it does get pretty busy. We did have to wait a bit for our food since they were short-staffed that night BUT I promise it's worth the wait!!

Everything about the place was average. Food was just ok. Service was just ok. Ambiance was just ok. It was the size of an apartment living room. I felt the food lacked flavor.

Adorable decor, very cozy on a Sunday afternoon. We really enjoyed the papardelle bolognese, beef ravioli special and chop salad special.

My partner got so sick from our last experience there. Additionally, we used to go pretty regularly but were never acknowledged for our loyalty to a small business, so both having happened, we'll pass moving forward.

A geat neighborhood Italian bistro in Riverdale. I used to come here reguarly with my son for dinner, and had excellent meals. The linguine with clam sauce was a favorite. However, my son has graduated, and I no longer come to Riverdale with any frequency. But this is a fantastic local restaurant!

The food has been too inconsistent over the years for me to become a regular here. Sometimes it's really awesome yet other times, I'm disappointed. For the price point, I expect a Party in my mouth. The portions are great and the service is generally wonderful.

i have been coming to this restaurant for a bit and waiting for something to happen that i dont like since its too good to be true. Well my 5th or 6th time and i love it more every time. Real Italian food, great service and very small place making you feel cozy and very comfortable. The risotto: OMG it just has so much flavor, al dente not mushy. they have it as a special every time i go (saturdays). Every main dish on the special list comes with a house salad and the mandatory bread for the table. Wine is available by the glass or bottle and its around $9 and up for a glass. Arrive with time or make a reservation as it gets packed super fast and people like to chit chat a lot and not move. see my pictures

Ugh...I'm so disappointed with tonight's meal. We haven't eaten here since early last year but had a great first impression that time we did decide to dine in. Tonight, we weren't really in the mood to cook so hubby offered to get us some take out and we were reminded about Beccofino yesterday during a long walk around our neighborhood. I ordered the Shrimp Risotto, one of their specials, because I distinctly remember having one of their specials when we first visited and everything we ate at that time was great. Unfortunately, our luck did not carry over into tonight. The risotto was very watery, inundated with salt and the shrimp were overcooked and fishy tasting as though they were either previously frozen for a long time or perhaps they were gulf shrimp which tend to be pretty rank IMO but I'm leaning towards their using frozen shrimp just based off of the rubbery texture and freezer burn flavor that hit the palate on the back end. I called up to complain about the meal just because I couldn't possibly not inform someone; it tasted THAT bad. The lady I spoke to assured me that they only use fresh shrimp, cooked to order but she offered to replace my meal, even at a later date. I declined the offer because I feel like of all the menu items, specials should be executed the best. That, and I wanted to eat my food tonight, not tomorrow and I wasn't about to have my husband drive back there a second time. My son opted for the Chicken Parm Hero which was bland. It's a large serving but in desperate need of some salt, perhaps the risotto could have helped in some way. Hubbs had the Meatball Parm Hero which was actually really good. The meatballs were very well seasoned and helped with the flavor of the overall sandwich. I ended up eating some of his sammie since my entrée was basically inedible. I'm really not sure of the difference between today and January of 2017 but I was not satisfied and am quite astounded that the kitchen even let that dish be sent out to a customer.

We've been to Beccofino many times over the years. The food is always great and the service warm. It's a great local place and we appreciate that. Post-Covid many people got used to getting their food delivered vs. coming into the restaurant. It's bee a tough go for our local restaurants, and we appreciate that owners have to pivot to stay afloat after many months of challenge. HOWEVER...last Saturday night, the service on-premise was glacial. Numerous queries elicited "the kitchen's backed up with take-out orders"..."yours is coming right out; two minutes"..."in a minute"...."everything's cooked to order"... Going forward, if this establishment is going to prioritize take-out orders over loyalists who prefer getting out for a nice meal, management needs to let us know. No worries. There are myriad Italian restaurants we can frequent, from south Westchester to Morris Park & Arthur Avenue. An hour+++ wait for entrees is bullshit. If you want to keep customers, maybe add some staff.

Last week's visit was a complete bust! I Order the same thing every time I go-Fettuccine Carbonara, my husband ordered the special-Flounder Franchese. My meal was bland at best and my husband's meal looked like boiled fish with franchese sauce on top. Oh let's not forget the appetizer-stuffed mushrooms-where had you ever been served stuffed mushrooms with melted mozzarella cheese on top? Smh! No! Just No!! We couldn't figure out if they we're trying to hide something under all that cheese or simply covering up the fact that this had restaurant depot written all over it. Nope never going back.

A very popular place, apparently -- it was crowded early on a Sunday evening, and only got more crowded as the evening progressed. Food was very good -- my wife said the zuppa di pesce (which she orders pretty much every time we're in an Italian restaurant) was way better than average. Pork chops were also very good, as was pasta. Service was prompt, if a bit abrupt - waitress kept walking away in the midst of ordering - but staff was very cordial. Dishes were served as they came out of the kitchen, rather than being assembled and delivered together ... this is common in Latin America and Europe, but not so much here ... not a problem, unless you have an issue with watching a table-mate eat while you wait for your food to come out. In sum, a very good neighborhood Italian - and since it's within walking distance of my daughter's apartment, we will be returning!

Ok. You know how often times people build up your expectations for something and it's hard for them to be met? Well, I've had many people tell me that Beccofino's was the best Italian restaurant in Riverdale and absolutely rave about their food, so tonight I finally went there for dinner. Simply put, my expectations were met. It's a solid 4.5 Fried calamari was cooked perfectly - not underdone or overdone. Simple floured rings served with lemon wedges and a marinara sauce with the right amount of garlic and not to sweet The lasagna was a perfect example of real homemade southern Italian cooking. I can imagine one of my oldest friends Napolitano Nona slaving away in the kitchen all day. Again, sauce was perfect and the right amount of meat and cheese harmoniously blended together. Pasta was not too mushy. Only reason why I can't give them a perfect score is that the Italian bread (while spot on) needs to be served warm and they serve it with butter, though the extra virgin olive oil and shredded Parmesan cheese promptly provided when asked, where complete 10's Portions are quite generous and reasonably priced. Atmosphere is inviting and authentic - it reminds you of the place where Michael had his encounter with Solozzo I'll definitely be back often

Cozy and casual Italian spot. Perfect place for a little date night, also very family friendly. Only wish they delivered!

We found that the food was very good, but be informed that the restaurant stresses quantity (HUGE portions) over fine quality in the quantity/quality trade-off. The service was excellent and the restaurant itself is quite attractive, comfortable, to be in. As several have said, it's a small place, so make reservations. It's a good local place.

We cook a lot of Italian dishes at home but Beccofinos Pappardelle Bolognese is the ultimate dish. It never disappoints and it always has that home cooking taste. Kathy is always an excellent waitress attending to you needs and making you feel welcome. Their sangria is also excellent. This is a perfect local spot serving the best comfort food. Oh and order the mozzarella sticks you won't regret it!

I can't believe it's taken me so long to write a review: this place is awesome! Super cute cozy place with nice lighting. Really fair prices, huge menu with an additional extensive specials menu. They will make changes to mostly anything u want if they have it. Incredibly friendly waitstaff. And the bread is off the charts. Please note there is no bar & they only serve wine or beer. But don't let that stop u! This place is not to be missed.

For over 15 years my wife & I have ordered the same takeout order from here: eggplant rollatini and veal parmigiana hero, perfect every time. Well, veal parmigiana hero on Monday night prompted me to call and ask if they changed chefs? The usually tender, multi layer sandwich was a single, tough piece of veal with the breading off. The hero's price went up a bit and where there are so many places in the neighborhood that offer free delivery, we still choose to drive to pick up this usually great quality hero. I left a message for the manager, as the girl who answered the phone said she didn't know what to tell me, nor could do anything for me. No call, no apology, never going to Becofino again

Great Italian American food and good portion. Food is fresh in a small romantic and family ambience place.

We've been to this restaurant a few times. This last experience was not very good. I made reservations, and when we got there, they were doubting us. They finally sat us after asking 3 times if we had reservations! The table that came after us got their drinks first, and between appetizers and main dinner, it took 45 - 50 minutes to bring out. Yes, they were busy, but it's a restaurant with 10 tables! The waitress was not the best either. She ignored us most of the time, and when we asked what was happening, she blamed the bartender and the chef. I used to like this place but don't think we are coming back.

We had Dinner here recently this past week. It was my first time dining here. I must say that the food was pretty good. The pasta is made fresh from scratch and it shows. Adequate parking on the street. Nice staff that tries hard. The place was busy, and the patrons seems happy with the quality of the food. The food portion size is pretty good, and, it should be, especially in regards to the pasta. Sauces here were pretty good also. They have received a MICHELIN STAR RATING in 2018. Not an easy task to accomplish. And, they had an "A" Star Rating by the NYC Health Commission. It was clean and smelled nice inside. Our Waitress was Michelle. Nice lady, ask for her and come on down to Beccofino and enjoy a nice meal here for Dinner!

Doesn't help that I practically live next door. Staff is extremely pleasant. Portions are healthy. Love the papardelle as it is flavorful, filling, and always served with delicious bread. They also have take out so that works great for me. I plan to bring people who visit me here so they can be as equally impressed.

Solid food. Came to this neighborhood spot with friends for the first time today. The stuffed mushroom appetizer was very good. Both salad we ordered- crab & avocado and pear were outstanding. The crab & avocado was my favorite part of the meal. My spaghetti and meatballs was decent, took home left overs. The only criticisms are- I prefer my silverware switched between courses AND I'm not a fan of packaged butter and sealed bread sticks in the bread basket. Overall a good experience - will return.

Delicious food. I don't see how you can go wrong here. I am a vegetarian and asked them to do fettuccine alfredo but hold the meat (by default, it comes with sausage or something). They were accommodating, although the second time around I had to mention that they did it for me the last time before she said no problem. The fettuccine is handmade and absolutely delicious. Best pasta I've eaten in my life. The alfredo sauce was also excellent. I had the cheese ravioli the third time I went. Although it was great, I'll probably go back to the fettuccine alfredo next time I go. There will be a next time! There aren't a TON of vegetarian options, but at least is enough for me :) Garlic bread was good and they have awesome salads. The price is not exactly cheap, but the food is definitely worth it. My family always gets meat, and the chicken beccofino looked good all stuffed with veggies. If I ate meat, I'd probably enjoy more of their entrees. Red wine sangria gets 2 thumbs up. Yummy and full of fruit!

Hubby had the fettuccine Alfredo and I had the parpadelle Bolognese, both were delicious! Sangria was nice. Large portion sizes for these authentic tasting dishe. About $18/ pasta dish, $9 sangria. Ambience was pleasant- dim lighting, romantic, and quiet. Nice jazz playing in background. Red, checkerd tablecloths kinda spot.

My best friends and I totally love Beccofino. Consistently delicious, great quality and service! The menu is really terrific, many really good choices, I had to go with Fried Calamari, and it was wonderful. The employees ensured that I was helped and answered all my questions really politely and swiftly. Overall, we definitely enjoyed this place.

Oh, Beccofino! Friendly staff, good drinks, nice food, cozy atmosphere. One word could sum up all of this, and it's not one that can be used often...unpretentious. Upon arriving, my boyfriend and I had the entire place to ourselves. (Wink wink) and would continue as such throughout the night, which we didn't mind at all. Our server for the night was as helpful as a best friend, answering all of our questions and concerns about the menu and her recommendations were absolutely on point! The first course was a shrimp, oven roasted asparagus, and mozzarella salad that was a bit bland but enjoyable with a little added salt and pepper. To wash that starter down we indulged in the house made sangria (which was a remarkable 30 dollar bottle) My boyfriend ordered the Chicken Milanese -- lucky his stomach was bigger than his eyes because it was a huge portion. Olives, mozzarella, and tomatoes tossed in arugula dressed with olive oil and lemon juice was a perfect compliment to the chicken. Once he started to eat he couldn't stop. For my dish, I finally decided on the Spaghetti Con Scampi which consisted of zucchini, tomatoes, mushrooms, and jumbo shrimp (which was most likely just frozen in a bag and defrosted ) Nonetheless the pasta itself was coated in a lovely garlic scampi sauce and covered in cheese , much to my liking. I absolutely was not able to finish what was on the plate but enjoyed what I had been able to take in, without taking it home with me. In conclusion my fellow Yelpers this establishment is well deserving of its place in the Michelin food guide.

First time dining here in Riverdale with friends, came on their recommendation as they have been coming here for years. Our friends loved their burrata appetizer, and bread and wine by the class were both very good as well. Our entrees of red snapper francaise, trout and shrimp with pappardelle were all hot and tasty. Side veggies hot and cooked perfectly. An excellent dining experience all around!

Since Yelp lost my original review, here's the short version: My entree was bland and the chicken tasted old, like it was reheated several times. My dessert tasted like it had just been taken out of the freezer and microwaved. Service was good and our apps were good, hence the 2 stars but I won't be going back.

When I lived in Riverdale from 2008 - 2011 and my mom was still alive this was our go-to neighborhood Italian. We were hardly disappointed with this old world Sicilian meets some kinda modern Northern Italian. I have revisited it last year and it took this long to write a new review. Sorry guys. Still just as fantastic as ever. The veal parmesan​​ is enormous,the ​sauce is just right and not sweet at all, plenty of gooey mozzerella and excellent wine choices too.

My mom is living near here, in an independent living place. I needed a place to dine alone, and this sounded nice. After checking the reviews, that suggested neighborhood favoritism, and covert racism, I was a little hesitant. My fears were unfounded. I was seated quickly. Everybody was friendly. My Fuselli special was delicious. My Sangria was delightful. I was served rapidly, which I appreciated as a native New Yorker. No ulterior motives. Only disappointment, was no Cannoli.

This is an absolute gem of a place and serves delicious Italian food. It's probably my favorite place to date.

Beccofino is back...and just as delicious ‍. We were so happy to order their delicious Italian comfort food, and we were not disappointed. COVID safe measures in place, this is a true neighborhood gem. Enjoy!
