My husband and I try to do a dinner date night at least once a month; this month it was time to check out Beckett's Table. I've had this restaurant on my Yelp bookmarks for quite some time. Initially I had hesitated going because they have a smaller menu, but then figured, if they have a smaller number of specialties, whatever they make has to be good. Well, turns out we had a really good dinner experience!
We had made a reservation prior, which is highly recommended! We dined on Saturday at 5pm; while it wasn't too crowded right when we got there, it got progressively busier as the evening went on. Our server came by and took our dinner order promptly. I went with the Pan-Seared Barramundi, my husband got the Bt Veg Plate, and we got the wood fired oven bacon biscuit stuffing to share.
From what I gather, they change the accompaniments to their dishes like the barramundi and all the components of the Bt veg plate weekly. The fish I ordered came with a lemon spinach rice plus tomatoes, red peppers, and a few other garnishes. It sounded really good when it was described to us, and it didn't disappoint! My husband enjoyed the veg plate too; it had butternut squash, roasted eggplant, a tomato sauce, polenta cakes, goat cheese, plus more. It didn't look like a big portion but he said it was quite filling. My favorite thing was the biscuit stuffing. Some pieces of the top were a little bit more browned than they should've been but as a whole, it was really really good!
We rounded out the meal with a creme brûlée for dessert. It was a nice shareable size but pretty standard. I'm a sucker for creme brûlée in general, so 90% of the time I order it when I see it on the menu, but I'd probably try a different dessert next time. Also, I'll likely get the chicken dish for my entree since it already comes with the stuffing, then get a side of mashed potatoes! Overall, I was quite pleased with our dining experience. I'm very likely to return.
