A bustling little spot with top notch staff and fantastic food! We arrived around 1pm on a Sunday and the place was packed! While there was a wait for tables, we were sat quickly at the counter. Our server’s name was Mouse and she was quick, friendly and informative. It was quite warm out and in the building and she made sure we were served ice waters right away, a nice touch. We ordered a blueberry pancake to share, Eggs Benedict with Canadian Bacon and cheddar covered home fries for me and the Fried Shrimp Dinner for my husband. Everything came out piping hot and prepared perfectly. My egg was ooey gooey and perfect! The blueberry pancake was light and fluffy and gigantic, a perfect size to share and my husband had only good things to say about his fried shrimp. He still talks about the cocktail sauce! This was one of the top meals that we had while in Maine! Thanks for a great meal, Becky’s!

Google
Worth the wait. We waited 20 minutes for two counter seats. We had the chicken salad club sandwich, lobster roll and fried whole clams. Amazing meals.

Google
Great food in an old-school diner atmosphere! The lobster omelette was out of this world!! We also enjoyed the blueberry pancakes made with fresh Maine blueberries! Service was a bit slow, but we are chalking that up to the busy July 4th holiday. Staff was kind and friendly!

Google
Chowder was terrific. Lobster rolls were very good too. The breaded lobster was superb. There's usually a queue to get a table so be prepared to wait a bit. Diner style interiors. Pretty busy.

Google
Love the “diner” atmosphere. Tried a lobster roll for the first time, wasn’t impressed. Was expecting a little more flavor for the hype. I don’t have anything to compare it to so it’s not fair to deduct any stars. The cheeseburger and fries were very good. Wait staff was very nice. They do charge a “kitchen appreciation” fee. Never seen that before..

Google
I stopped in today for a lunch and was pleasantly surprised. The staff was super friendly and the food was exceptional. My fried clams were a tasty appetizer and the lobster roll was so good I’m still thinking about it. Great job and I look forward to coming back.

Google
Made sure to hit up Becky's while visiting Portland and it was delicious. I got a simple breakfast of scrambled eggs and a Blueberry pancake and my partner had a pastrami omelette! Very fast and friendly service despite being packed. Got a few pieces of pie to go but the Whoopie pie cake definitely got my attention on the way out.

Google
Just what I was looking for. Diner vibe and good diner food. Irish Eggs Benedict were delicious and perfectly cooked. Friendly service. Visited on a Friday and was able to sit at counter by myself right away. Can understand that wait times would build up quickly at popular times.

Yelp
If you're in Portland and looking for a classic, no-frills diner experience, Becky's is the place to go! The portions here are *huge*--seriously, you won't leave hungry. I love how reasonably priced everything is, too. It's one of those spots where you get a lot of bang for your buck. The food is solid diner fare, and they really nail the basics. Breakfast here is a standout. Service was friendly and efficient, which is always a plus when you're there for a hearty meal.

Yelp
We went 2x to Becky's. Vibes were different depending on the time you go. Saturday mornings are SUPER busy and for lunch during the week is not too packed. Breakfast: I had the Egg's Benedict. It was really good. I enjoyed it. I didn't like the home fries. But over all love the plate. My husband just had French toast and sausages. Lunch: I had the lobster roll and the Strawberry Milk Shake. The roll was good and shake was fantastic. My hubby had a BLT and Maine Beer. Overall, we enjoyed each time and the food. We recommend this place if you are in Portland Maine.

Yelp
There was a huge line of people waiting to get in, but I can confirm the wait was worth it. Very fast service when seated. Very friendly staff. A menu that covers breakfast, lunch and dinner, and the ability to order whole belly clams as an appetizer in 4oz or 7 oz sizes.

Yelp
I loved my experience at Becky's Diner while we were in Portland, ME. I found this place initially on Yelp through the number of high reviews...and I'm very thankful for that. My husband and I ordered the following: + Blueberry pancake + Clam chowder + Lobster omelette + Corned beef breakfast Everything was delightful. I absolutely loved all my dishes and was left extremely full. The lobster omelette was a bit pricey, but when I got the dish, I understood why. It was full of lobster pieces tucked in an omelette and cheese. The omelette was about $34. The corned beef hash had tons of meat and was extra crispy which I loved too. Even during off season, there was a bit of a wait here. We waited about 20 minutes, which gave us time to fill up and get gas across the street as well. BONUS -- this place was visited by Guy Fieri for Diners, Drive-ins, and drives.

Yelp
I came here for breakfast and it was delicious. I got 2 eggs over-easy, buttered white toast, and turkey sausage with an apple juice. I immediately got seated at the bar and was greeted by the waitress who took my order shortly after. The place was packed and there was a long line outside (I can see why!) but the service was quick and the food was so good. I'd definitely come back to try other menu items.

Yelp
Amazing food! I was impressed by the fruit bowl and the blueberry cake! The inside looks like an old school diner.

Yelp
In Maine for the month, being able to try lots of different popular foods and one of the ones people recommended to try was Becky's diner. We went on a Sunday afternoon at around 12 with a lot of people waiting outside. We didn't realize at the time, but there is a small parking lot you can pay for as well as some nearby street parking although very limited. We were given a beeper and a wait time of ~45-50 minutes which was pretty accurate before we were seated. We ordered the large bowl of clam chowder along with their fisherman platter, which included their fried clams, fried shrimps, fried haddock, and fried scallops. For two, this was more than enough and still had a good chunk left over for another meal! For the clam chowder, a solid 8.5/10. A nice homey feel clam chowder with a ton of potatoes. For the fisherman platter, my personal favorite had to be the scallops. They tasted super fresh and sweet, and if I came back next time would be what I primarily try to get. The others were also fresh with a bit of brine to them, and all cooked to a nice golden brown color. A great 9/10. A great place which holds up to its hype, would def want to come again and try some of their other seafood.

Yelp
I thought the food was ok. The potato's were not seasoned properly and the eggs were not runny for a Benedict. The egg muffin was kind of soggy. I guess I came when it was it was packed so it was very crowded and the service could have been better. It was a very diner vibe type of place. A true diner. I don't know if I would come here again

Yelp
Holy Lobster Becky! Look at that Benedict! It is so big! Like one of those epic breakfasts! I like big lobster and I cannot lie. Ok, all the 80's teenagers will definitely understand my start to this review. So the lobster benedict so so good. Eye cooked perfectly and loaded with lobster! Loaded! The hubs got the lobster omelette which was stuffed with juicy sweet lobster. Epic doesn't even begin to describe the food at this place. We were with another couple who had blueberry pancakes, huge portions very tasty. Now the turkey sausage, made in house, was too spicy for me but everyone else enjoyed it. Coffee was decent. Now the service: best server EVER! She was hilarious, attentive and fast. I would come back for her. This place is a must visit for breakfast!

Yelp
Before jumping on the boat for a day of exploration on Peak Island, we stopped at Becky's to fuel. We were lucky to get a prime parking space in front(limited parking spaces) and waited about 1/2 hour to get breakfast. This very popular restaurant has great food- my feta, tomato, spinach and mushroom omelet was filling. Our waitress was busy handling 4 large parties on the upstairs patio but she succeeded keeping everyone's coffee cup full. Highly recommended- on the waterfront and pet friendly.

Yelp
My daughter and I stopped in for breakfast this morning and the place was packed but, we didn't wait at all. Super pleasant staff, amazing server, and top notch food. This is a must stop kind of place.

Yelp
"Becky's dinah, nothing finah" The saying says it all. Not the fanciest, not the "best" but there is nothing that SCREAMS Portland available in the old port!

Yelp
My son and I arrived at Becky's at 7:15am on a Saturday in November. To my surprise, there was already a 20-25 minute way. This place is always hopping, doesn't seem to matter when you come. It's first come, first served, so if you are in a hurry or have a large group, I would recommend going elsewhere. Our waitress was very cheery and "on the ball". I ordered a coffee and the florentine eggs benedict. My son got a chocolate milk with chocolate chip pancakes. She came around to top off and warm up my coffee without me asking, which was nice. Our food didn't take too long to come out. Although this place is busy, you can tell they've got a quick turn around figured out. Everybody is doing a job, keeping the customers moving in/out quickly, but without feeling rushed. We both enjoyed our dishes. I'd say they were both pretty basic, but executed perfectly. I requested my home fries be crispy and they actually were! I find at many restaurants, even when asking for them to be cooked a bit extra, they still aren't to my liking. So kudos to the busy cook! As a side note: I did notice on my receipt that there was a "kitchen appreciation" charge. I'm not a big fan of hidden charges, even if it was just a buck. Either opt to pay the staff more, or tip them out, but don't add a charge onto the customers without them knowing or having the option to decide if they'd like it added. (I totally would have added the dollar if asked because they nailed the dishes, but it's just the principle of it for me.)

Yelp
I was lucky enough to park right in front of the diner. There was a seat at the counter even though the restaurant was nearly full. The servers were organized and attentive. The breakfast was tasty and the portions were ample.

Yelp
Updating my old review from three stars to four stars. Increasing the star rating only because of the food, not the service from hostess. Food was as expected, nothing out of this world Michelin rated, but still a good go-to mom and pop place. I always get the breakfast because of consistency, but for some reason my mom swears by the fried haddock. She's gone back to get it multiple times. ‍ They have what appears to be teenagers working as hosts, which is all good and fun except for when there's a communication breakdown. Or, when they refuse to entertain requests, but then someone else does- we were a party of six and were sat at a small table, we asked for something bigger and were told no, until another server came by and offered us their bigger, empty table.

Yelp
This little hole in the wall, gives its customers excellent service and incredible cuisine. The lobster roll was loaded and more than I could eat. Fries were very good and the slaw was fabulous. You have to check out this restaurant! But get there early because the lines are long at peak hours!

Helen F.

Yelp
Friendly service, fabulous breakfast and the cake/pie case is wonderful. Be prepared to wait on the weekends. Make your own omelet for the win.

Yelp
A group of 6 adults, we came for dinner to escape the exorbitant prices of other restaurants and crowds in town. Among other things, that I cannot remember, we had a lobster roll, fried whole belly clams, clam chowder, broiled haddock and the spaghetti and meatballs. While the spaghetti was a big mistake, everything else was tasty; not the best we've ever had but good and more reasonably priced than almost anywhere else in Portland. Portion sizes were generous. The place is decorated like a traditional New Jersey diner, tables and booths very well-worn. We'll come again, not for a romantic evening but for good basic food.

Bryan R.

Yelp
The food and service are always great at Becky's Diner. Been going for years and love introducing new people to it! Keep up the great work!

Yelp
Becky's diner has it all! Their menu is very expansive, and truly gives you an American diner experience. I have been here for both breakfast and dinner and have enjoyed both meals. I would recommend the lobster roll if you come for lunch or dinner!!

Yelp
This was the first place I went to after landing in Portland, Maine. Becky's Diner was recommended to me from the nicest couple I sat next to on the plane. Becky's Diner is a no thrills restaurant with the classic counter diner service. As a tourist traveling alone, this was the perfect ambiance. I started with the homemade clam chowder served in a mug. The chowder had lots of seafood, bacon bits, and tender potato chunks throughout. For the main course, I had to order the lobster roll, which came with fries, coleslaw, and a pickle. I chose mayo dressed since I knew I wouldn't be able to eat it all. The lobster was cooked perfectly and the light mayo was not overpowering. I could only eat about half, so I took the rest home and ate it for breakfast the next day - and it was still just as delicious!
google avatar

Michael O.

Yelp
Great food and clam chowder is great along with the lobster rolls. Amazing for the family. This feels like a locals favorite as well.
google avatar

Kei M.

Yelp
Friendly staff, delicious & hearty food! We got the breakfast special, be sure to upgrade to the blueberry pancakes & real maple syrup! Lobster omelette I heard was amazing as well. 10/10 would return & we bought the mugs!
google avatar

Yelp
Had to update for grammar errors from using my iPhone voice recognition All the amazing reviews I was looking forward to having the clam chowder, sadly they include pork to all their chowders... had to watch my girl eat her fish and chips... she did say it was good. The lady serving also had a bit of attitude and no help on alternatives. Was not surprised that she never came to check up on us making sure we needed anything else.

Yelp
If you are in Portland you have to go to this place for their lobster roll!! This place is located on the dock with its own parking. We came on a weekend brunch time and there was a wait around 40 minutes. They don't take reservations nor do they inform by phone so you have to manage the time and make sure you are there when they call the name. Wow! The food tastes so good and worth the wait! We were seated at the booth and our orders came quickly. The lobster roll was amazing- fresh and tight texture, and the bun was good to pair with. Every bite was a mouthful of satisfaction. Price-wise it was also cheaper the lobster roll we got at another place in Portland. Such high quality and good price!! I also ordered a beef omelette- tender shaved beef. Blueberry pancake didn't disappoint either - it wasn't overly sweet and was rich in berries. Nice service and warm welcoming brunch vibe. What a gem
google avatar

Tracy M.

Yelp
If you are expecting a greasy spoon diner, this is perfect. We went for a down home old school breakfast and it didn't not disappoint. Thick buttery toast and greasy smoked bacon. Delish!

Patrick F.

Yelp
Amazing service!! They are friendly, attentive and create an overall welcoming environment! The stuffed berry french toast was spectacular so I hope they bring it back!! Especially for being on the waterfront, it is an incredible value for really great food!! They do have a 3% kitchen staff service fee which I would prefer they just add into their pricing so there aren't any surprises on the bill. Other than that, Becky's is an absolutely must visit diner!!
google avatar

Alison M.

Yelp
Nothing could be finer than breakfast at Becky's diner! I've come a few times here and am never disappointed. There is ALWAYS a wait so plan on when you go. Time goes by quickly and before you know it, you are seated and looking over their expansive menu. Breakfast was our target and we thoroughly enjoyed. We both had the multi selection breakfast and both of left full and satisfied. Will be back for sure, a Portland staple!
google avatar

Morgan H.

Yelp
Came here on a whim because I was craving a burger and this place didn't disappoint. Was in and out within an hour. Good, fresh food with fast service. I've heard there can be a line sometimes. For reference, me and my boyfriend stopped by at 8:30 - 9PM on a Saturday in the Winter and had no wait. Summer might be a different story but I can expect this place moves quick. There's also a parking lot attached to the restaurant, which is also super convenient.

Kenzie V.

Yelp
Loved this Benedict. The locals said this pace opens at 4 am to accommodate the fishermen. So cool.

John C.

Yelp
Sad that such a good place has gotten to the point that they can't pay their staff. Hopefully the owners will learn to run a business in the proper way. I knew the owner's father, he would be disappointed
google avatar

Samantha K.

Yelp
The staff serving food is helpful and kind, but the women who take the name to seat you aren't the most kind. Food is good here, really enjoy the chowder & it's got great coffee! Would go again for sure.
google avatar

Lynnet P.

Yelp
Wowza!! If you love a good old fashioned diner with ridiculously good breakfast this is a must while in Portland. The corned beef hash (smoked in house ) is the best you'll ever eat. Great service too!

Joseph F.

Yelp
Let me start out with the positive! The coffee was great. The waitress was wonderful. Unfortunately it ended there. The eggs were overcooked. The ham was tough and the hashbrowns were nothing but deep fried potato squeeze, and the pancakes were cold.
google avatar

Laura M.

Yelp
Amazing Sunday brunch. Wait was worth it. Waitress lovely, food so nutritiously dense we weren't even hungry for 14 hours
google avatar

Lee F.

Yelp
The place was super busy for a Monday. I did have a good breakfast here. The Blueberry Pancakes were good. The Turkey Sausage patties were good. I was surprised that I was charged $2.00 for Maple syrup. You are visiting Maine and they charge you for Maple syrup, go figure. Overall, a good experience here.
google avatar

Melissa M.

Yelp
Awesome ambiance and food! Long wait; but it's worth it! Also have diner counter seats available but we were in a bit of a large group. Enjoyed a lobster roll and some mimosas after a morning of exploring lighthouses. It's perfectly located near the bridge to cape Elizabeth!
google avatar

Roma S.

Yelp
We enjoyed our 3 egg omelets at Becky's Diner. It was tasty and substantial. I am not so sure why this place is so popular other than the food is just average. There seems to be a long long line to get in no matter the hour. Our server was very nice however, it took a while to get our food.
google avatar

Mark D.

Yelp
Becky's is everything it's cracked up to be. As a solo first-timer I was able to jump the Saturday-morning line and snag a single counter seat with ease. Kept it simple: Italian sausage and eggs, and it was the best Sausage I've had outside of Little Italy. Perfectly over-medium eggs. The raisin toast was delicious. The house "Canceaux Sauce," a sweet/hot surprise. Good coffee. Good service with genuine smiles all over. Classic diner atmosphere. What's not to love! Will be back for some Lobster Benedict next time around...
google avatar

Karen M.

Yelp
Becky's was recommended to us by a local, so we decided why not try it, it was a 30 min drive from out hotel. We waiting for 20 min before we were seated. Our waitress was really helpful. We sat upstairs on the patio. We had, a lobster roll, that was served with fries, coleslaw and a pickle. That was amazing. The fisherman's platter wasn't all to our liking. The batter was to tick. But definitely a place to try!
google avatar

Taylor S.

Yelp
This place was soo yummy! I highly recommend getting the large fruit bowl. It comes with such a variety of fruits! Bananas, grapes, kiwi, watermelon, strawberries, cantaloupe, apples, and blueberries! I rave about this fruit bowl all the time! The food was also excellent. I got an egg white omelette and it was delicious! They had breakfast and lunch options. From lobster rolls to French toast, you can get a lot here!

Yelp
Becky's is nothing short of an INSTITUTION. As one of the only places I'd be willing to wait an hour to get into, this classic diner serves up classic hearty breakfasts and comforting meals. The service is no-nonsense, no frills, but there's something comforting about their straightforwardness and efficiency. It's like stepping back in time to a simpler era. Although my go-to order is nothing special--a basic tuna melt and a side of onion rings--sometimes it's just what you need in the early hours of a summer morning or after a long day of frigid temperatures. Their pies, however-- MUST TRY! You can't leave without trying one. Becky's has been a steadfast obsession of locals for years, earning a special place in the heart of locals and tourists alike. Becky's has the magical ability to make everyone feel like a regular, whether it's your first visit or your hundredth.

Yelp
Food was good. This is a diner so breakfast food is always a win. The clam chowder was tasty. The hot chocolate with hot milk was also tasty. I did not like the shepherds pie. I enjoyed the lobster roll with butter. This is a popular spot so there will be a wait. But worth it.
google avatar

Tom R.

Yelp
Service was great, food was nothing special had clam chowder. Chowder was good and thick but not many clams, a lot of potatoes for sure. Wife had seafood dinner which she enjoyed.
google avatar

Alexa H.

Yelp
Diner vibes. The service was quick and pleasant. They are able to seat people quickly. The restaurant seemed busy but the noise level isn't too high. Food was great. I really enjoyed the biscuits!
google avatar

Shaquanda M.

Yelp
A short walk from our hotel. We stumbled upon this hidden gem. Right on the water so it had nice views. It was busy on a Tuesday morning but the wait was not long at all. The server was super sweet and helpful with the menu. Food came out fast. They even have free bumper stickers, $2 souvenir syrup, and a pepper sauce for sale for $8. That pepper sauce was very good on the home fries. I got pancakes scrambled eggs with cheese and house made turkey sausages. My favorite was the turkey sausage. You can tell it was made in house. It was very hearty. The ambiance is loud and fast paced but homey and laidback. I loved every moment of it
google avatar

Yelp
ImBECKcable!!!!! The lobster roll had me drooling in all sorts of places . The price was a bit steep but NOTHING compared to the Chow mein price according to Beckys staff (I heard a bit of GOSSIP from the servers (I LOVE GOSSIP)). Fries were crinkle cut to perfection. By the time I finished my meal I looked like a third trimester pregnant woman (I couldn't stop picking at my friends leftovers (I LOVE FOOD)). I highly recommend Beckys if you're a fattie, like me. The portions are HUMUNGO (Just how I like it (I LOVE HUGE PORTIONS)).
google avatar

Yelp
We had a party of ten. Staff couldn't have been friendlier or more accommodating. Plus we loved our breakfast choices! YaY!
