"One of your friends wants to watch the Rangers game, another claims he’s eaten nothing but a Fiber One bar all day, and you haven’t gotten any vitamin D since last weekend. Bedford Falls is a big spot that has something for everyone, with a room up front that feels like a sports bar, tables throughout the space, a long food menu, and a nice back patio. It also has a Happy Hour until 7pm every day, as well as various other drink specials each day of the week." - Matt Tervooren

Bedford Falls is such a cool bar and I've never been disappointed. The staff are always friendly and the food is excellent for a smaller bar / pub. The atmosphere for NY sports is second to none. I've been going to Bedford Falls for the NY Jets games but for any of the NY teams, you are sure to have a good time. Burger and tots and a beer is the way to go. See you all soon!

Google
Really great service and always reliable because Hernan is the BEST! Awesome wings in upper east side. Great music as well with a juke box and everything including the outdoor beer garden. Hot dogs serve late night as well. Open till 4am everyday.

Google
Cozy and fun . The atmosphere was great enough. The bartender and the waitress was clearly overwhelmed with the size of the crowd in the afternoon, but was both friendly . Convenient located with little back yard and different rooms….

Google
Food was well prepared and portion sizes were fair. I felt that the spinach artichoke dip could use more salt. At the same time the chicken fingers seemed too salty. But the atmosphere in the Beer garden in the back was nice and I would recommend it.

Google
Busy Thursday night after work crowd keeps the small bar in front lively. Excellent prices at happy hour on well drinks and drafts; even though I would die of malaria if i was relying on the quinine in the tonic water. Good prices on apps at the bar. The is a dining room in back and a beer garden even further back.

Sara

Google
Had the short rib grilled cheese. Absolute banger. Beers poured well and plenty of places to sit. Great hangout with a decent group of people!

Google
Pretty standard hole in the wall dive bar. The layout is kinda broken up with a few small rooms so this isn’t the best place for large groups. They do have a good sized patio in the back with some tables. They call it a beer garden but it’s really just a patio. The beer selection is mediocre but the burgers are actually excellent

All About Jackie !

Google
Nice little bar right by Hunter College if you’re having a stressed week with finals. Beer was good and the tater tots were also good. The crow is mostly men I didn’t really see a lot of women there. Overall pretty cool place

Yelp
Very good Salmon and ambiance, good beers, good tv. So come to eat and drink

Kloe K.

Yelp
Juke box and local hangout for everyone with great vide, awesome music, food and drinks --outdoor seating and tables in the back. Always a great time.

Yelp
We were there for a reunion of a bunch of friends. It's ur basic dive bar. Great waiters, lots of tv's, comfy and loud. Big downside was the food. In manhattan, one expects more or better. This was very very ehhhh!

Angela K.

Yelp
Well first time there. It's definitely and hang out tough around edges bar. It does have lots of room since there are large hang out rooms in back with loads of TVs. Beer garden too but it's tight. When we first ordered drinks way too long to arrive. We made a comment and from there waiter was on the ball but it's not a go out and have great meal and drinks place. It's a nice local bar for drinks and watching good NY sports. Burgers are good

Me 2.

Yelp
Only been here once & I will be back for Brunch if I'm in the neighborhood again. Sat at bar. There is a timed unlimited champagne or alcoholic beverage upgrade. Service was very attentive (we were the only ones there}. Several TVs playing sports but muted one did not closed captions on. Everyone enjoyed their food. Staff was great. No complaints.

Ashley M.

Yelp
Came here after a visit to The MET, after randomly finding this place on yelp. Its basic bar food, nothing to really rave about. My cosmo was just okay, but I did not have high expectations. I ordered the wings and tater tots. The wings were a little dry but the tater tots were good. The service was great, no complaints in that area. All in all, if its a quick bite you need than definitely check it out if in the area.

Yelp
Great dive bar! Best place to watch Jets games on Sundays as its a Jets bar! Food is great, especially the short rib grilled cheese. Bartenders are amazing. Jon and Hernan are the nicest.

Kenny C.

Yelp
Bedford Falls is such an awesome local dive bar! They have ample seating, a big patio, and multiple rooms, it's the perfect spot for gatherings. They got plenty of tvs to watch the game on, and a good amount of selections on the menu. i was able to try some of their chicken wings and onion rings and it was perfect bar food. My favorite part was the bartender. Our bartender, Kyle was super friendly and attentive and livened up the place, he even took song requests! Overall an amazing time and would definitely return.

Warren A.

Yelp
Came here on a Friday after work for the happy hour. They have 2 dollars off all draft beers and we'll drinks. No food specials but they have a 3 dollar sabrett hot dog with saurkraut and onions.

Jasmin G.

Yelp
This is a cute, cozy spot with outdoor seating. We got a couple of drinks and some appetizers. The drinks were strong and very good -- I got a tequila cocktail and my friend got the frose. We also got the chips and guacamole and the mozzarella sticks, both of which were questionable -- they either came from somewhere else (not fresh enough to be made fresh) or they had been sitting for a while. This is definitely more of a drinking and hanging spot than an eating one; service was fast and friendly.

Sydney M.

Yelp
Worst service I've experienced in the city. We waited 40 minutes for our beers, water, and fries. When we got frustrated with still waiting for waters and being continuously ignored my servers, we ended up going to the bar and waiting a further 20 minutes even be acknowledged before getting water. The horrendous service was truly egregious. Management needs to staff this location better and train employees better to deal with busy hours. Having worked in service myself, I was shocked at how awful the service was. I hope management sees this review and changes their practices.

Tom C.

Yelp
Decent bar food and average drinks. Backyard beer garden was quaint and quiet. It was a good mellow pre concert spot for an event in Central Park

Shane P.

Yelp
We came here for a party reserved in the back room. This was a great group venue. The waiter we had, Kenny, was friendly and attentive. We had a group of 20+ and they only assigned us one waiter. Which was a bit difficult because it meant we often had to wait for drinks. There was a great happy hour going on beer and wine for our event. Overall it was a nice time had by all. Food: ordered the Mozzarella Sticks-- below average, subpar.

Erik J.

Yelp
Excellent local watering hole. Friendly bartenders and owner, fun and eclectic clientele who are always up for a conversation. Great for sports. They have back rooms for large groups and even a cute little patio out back that's open till 10 pm. Solid beer and spirits selection. Kitchen is open till 10 and is pretty darn good.

Lianna T.

Yelp
A true neighborhood bar. A main draw is the many seating areas, both indoors with multiple rooms, and then an outdoor beer garden. Having separate rooms makes it a great place for groups, or even for just two people who don't want to be in a big bar with lots of noise. We went on a Saturday night and it was surprisingly not so full - it's possible it gets more crowded later at night as we left by 8:30. The cocktails are standard, but satisfying. We ordered the peach mule, which was refreshing and tasty; as well as the spicy tommy margarita. A fun place to spend a casual night - I definitely hope to return.

Yelp
I started an account just to review this bar! Bedford Falls is exactly the kind of bar you're looking for at the end of your night out when you're not ready to go home and you still want to sing and dance. My friends and I made it our last stop for our bachelorette party, and the bartender, Kyle was so much fun! He let us dance on the bar, sang literally every pop punk and emo song my friends and I played on the jukebox with us (even sang us some songs he wrote himself). It really felt like we were at a house party. Everyone in the bar seemed to know each other and it's a really friendly environment they've created there.

Robin's Hood X.

Yelp
My shortest review ever--. Kyle: The best bartender at any UES neighborhood watering hole, bar none...Always cool, calm, and pleasant no matter how hectic the scene at this old-time neighborhood sports bar.

Tessie V.

Yelp
Average little place in the middle of no competition. Solid prices. Mostly attentive staff. Good for big groups, there is a back room. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here but it's good for after operas and concerts by Hunter.

Giovanni D.

Yelp
Amazing spot, people are so nice and food is good I recommend the nachos and the wings

Steve S.

Yelp
Just awful. The service was negligent and felt random. The food was not good. Noisy children were sent by their parents, in another room, to rtun around our seating area. Not go back? I might never even walk down that block again.

Bleecker W.

Yelp
Service was terrible on Friday night. So slow when the bar wasn't even filled! Disappointed

Dick W.

Yelp
Good food - neighborhood pub during the afternnon, younger crowd on weekend nights. Around corner from Hunter College. "Martini, don't cha know me?"

David G.

Yelp
Nice bartenders. They remember you and your personal tastes. They stay consistent w pricing , they don't make mistakes, and crowd is very diverse. I like going here

Ralph M.

Yelp
Attended a family birthday celebration there with family. Service for the group of parents and children was amazing consider the chaos with the young ones. The Bar Food Menu choices (while not gourmet) were prepared in a timely manner and delivered by conscious staff. The burger sliders were excellent. Bartender did an excellent job of keeping the parents supplied with necessary libations. Worth a visit.

Nora F.

Yelp
I really like the vibe here. Divey sports bar with pretty good burgers and blackened chicken. I enjoyed the music rotation (Radiohead to Van Morrison) when I was there. There is an AMI electric jukebox but it's broken. :/ It's pretty loud so probably not the best place for private or intimate conversations.

Ashley M.

Yelp
Ehhh. The place is big, having indoors and outdoors nice ambiance. But if you want food, that's when you rather eat elsewhere. The drinks are fine and it feels more of a drink and chat ambiance, rather then drinks and eat good food spot.

Abby R.

Yelp
Bedford Falls hosted a happy hour for our non-profit, Also-Known-As. Planning was seamless and Liam was very accommodating of our party size and time slot request. We were set up in a private back room which made it easier for others to hear one another in a more intimate environment. Mallory and Nihun helped our group with orders and anything else we needed. They were super attentive, always checking in on us, and they even helped move some furniture around to make more room for our guests. If you're thinking of hosting an event here I highly highly recommend! Thank you Bedford Falls, we will be back!

Yelp
Stumbled upon this bar after the previous bar we were at didn't have the big 10 network and we were dying to watch the Maryland and Wisconsin basketball game. From beginning to end it was a wonderful evening. We were quickly greeted by our outstanding server Kenny who was attentive, kind, and full of energy. He made our dreams come true when he had the kitchen make our off menu request - a grilled chicken Caesar wrap! It was so good! We also had the pleasure of meeting the manager, Liam, who was an absolute joy. Can't wait to come back to this neighborhood gem of a bar especially after finding out they're open until 4am daily! They also mentioned they might be starting a late night menu open until 4am too - just what the UES needs!

Michael V.

Yelp
Possibly my favorite bar in the city. It's never insanely crowded but never too empty. It has a laid back neighborhood atmosphere which isn't too common in the city these days. The main bar where you walk in has good seating and plenty of TVs to watch sports. Toward the back there are sesting areas with some televisions too and the seating is a little more intimate. Bedford Falls has a great beer menu with a variety of beers that aren't too common in UES. Their drinks are also reasonably priced and the bartenders are very friendly. The food here is not an after thought as they have some of the best wings in the city. While the food is bar food, it is bar food done well. Sliders are great as are the fries and onion rings. They have a little back patio too which is nice to sit when the weather is nice. This has been a blessing during COVID as I prefer sitting in the back outside rather than on the sidewalk. Only downside during COVID is that they're running on a limited menu but I'll gladly have this so they can remain open. Ultimately this is an underrated gem of UES.

Katiuska R.

Yelp
Food was absolutely disgusting. Service was terrible. Our server only came once to give us our food. We were missing items from our order. Food was bland and distasteful. Never again!!

Fred A.

Yelp
Not a lot of good, casual bars in this neighborhood by any means, so I was shocked to stumble upon this while waiting from my friend. Packed on a Saturday night, great beer selection - that classic, higher end, pub feel. Super friendly bartender at the center of a circular bar by the entrance (always love those). Glad I have a staple now whenever I'm in the neighborhood.

Gabe T.

Yelp
Came for the happy hour ($2 off drafts from open until 7pm), got a couple of the five boroughs juicy IPA. There's outdoor seating, the beers were quick and cheap, need I say more?

K P.

Yelp
Sadly, not a great cheesesteak, even for a divey joint...Probably 1.5/5 stars. Very little, incinerated meat/mostly bread. Not tasty, but I was starving, and the tots that came with were crispy. Service was shoddy (best if you walk up to order), AND I initially got charged $21 for the cheesesteak (which "happens sometimes"), though the menu stated $14, so beware. They were out of Goose Island IPA on draft, so I settled on the cider. It seemed like there was just one waitress serving the entire place. Back garden was a surprise, really, but FYI, they don't really anticipate patrons back there when it's rainy, since they didn't push chairs in or wipe down seats until we arrived. Not sure I'll be back, but if so, it won't be for the food...maybe for the back garden.

Anna K.

Yelp
Very solid choice for weeknight drinks with lots of seating on the sidewalk in front, and the backyard too! Friendly service, and almost dive bar vibes... as much as you can be a dive on the upper east side

Trieu G.

Yelp
I was in the neighborhood and searched for "salad" on Yelp. This bar came up?!? Since it was sweating hot outside, we went in expecting quick availability...bar, day time. There were plenty. We walked to the back to enjoy 4 big screens of sports all to ourselves. We had the crab cakes and the steak salad. Great choice. The crab cakes was just that, crabs - nothing else. I absolutely love restaurants that go out of their way to give customers the best they can. The steak was plump and overflowing with juice. The portions here are more like dinner-size portions. So glad we decided to lean on Yelp suggestion to come in here for salads. It is an odd, but good suggestion.

Zee G.

Yelp
Came here with a friend- nice to find a little place tucked away that is unpretentious, decent drinks and where the food is actually decent. Rum and coke... a little too much ice but good because it was in maybe a 12-16oz glass. Ordered the Bedford Fall burger: angus beef with bacon, cheddar, avocado with a jalapeño mayo and sweet potato fries. I hadn't eaten lunch so I demolished it. Burger was juicy and sweet potato fries are a win! Calamari was ok too. Waitress works hard and doesn't forget about u. When I need to run and hide on the upper east side, I'll be in this corner.

Mirah J.

Yelp
Food was disgusting, Drinks were nasty and weak . Only thing good was their pricing, but even with the low pricing their food still isnt worth it.

Andrew R.

Yelp
Great Spot to catch amazing prices for drinks. Keep in mind this a bar , so the bar food is quite simply going to taste like bar food. Other than that i love it and would definitely check it out again.

Seo H.

Yelp
Nice spot! Right next to Hunter College and the 6 train. Very close to the 7! Food is alright and so is the drink menu. I like coming here for a quick happy hour spot between classes! They let you Sit outside which is a plus!

Miranda F.

Yelp
Happy hour is happening. Loud, rambunctious, typical bar. Plenty of space and seating though! Can't wait to try the outdoor garden in the warmer months.

Peter K.

Yelp
Came here for a drink after dinner. This place is about 2 blocks from the 6th train. It's a small, quaint bar that has a bunch of screens showing sports. Clientele of mostly older White men drinking beers and chatting. Bartender is a nice guy and takes your drink order promptly. It was not too busy on a Monday night but people were there. They have wine and liquor as well. I did not try their food. The decor is mostly wood with some memorabilias on the walls. It looks like your average neighborhood pub in NYC. Prices weren't bad and is on par with similar UES establishments. Would stop by for a drink if I'm in the area. Good place to sit and chill with a drink if you're not in the mood to rage.

Sara P.

Yelp
Nice spot for happy hour. Lots of space in the back to hang out. They have an outdoors area as well! Very reasonable prices and a good selection for happy hour.

Carly L.

Yelp
Had a great night here with my coworkers for happy hour! We were able to reserve the room in the back, which was the perfect size for our office. Everyone was able to sit comfortably. Happy hour is a great deal here, $2 off beers (which were already decently priced to begin with) and $5 well drinks. A lot of places water down their well drinks during happy hour to cut costs, but this place didn't. Hope is a great server and was efficient and super funny!

Judith S.

Yelp
I am so disappointed. My husband and I have been happy to call this our local go to bar, it's just around the corner from us. But sadly it has gone quickly downhill. The mixed drinks like Margaritas used to be large and generous. Now they are half the size, but the same price. It didn't help that mine tasted awful tonight. I turned kr back. The bar tender was rude and inattentive. I had to ask over and over for simple things like a menu. And he over charged for a well drunk. Our usual meal here starts with nachos. Usually flavorful, well constructed, moist. Chicken grilled, chopped small enough to spread out, with every bite a delicious mix. But tonight it was awful. Lumps of cheese, large chunks of chicken too big to handle, dried out edges. So disappointing. This place is going to lose a lot of regular customers if they don't figure out how to raise their standards back up. We may never go back.

Michael S.

Yelp
I wanted this to be me and my wife's new local spot. We were there this evening and put cash straight from their ATM into their jukebox. 2 songs in, Kyle the bartender stopped our song and went to an ipod with no explanation until my wife asked (although he'd seen us at the machine for a while). He essentially said his boss was there (opposite the bar from us) and wanted to listen to what he wanted. Either have a jukebox or don't. If the songs are there, and the money goes in, they're not suggestions. Don't just treat it like a reverse-cash-machine. Kyle seemed really intimidated that his boss was there, and therefore offered us no unsolicited explanation, no apology, and no restitution. A different bartender could have gotten my wife and I on his/her side by simply communicating with us! We've both worked in bars and restaurants. But, no. Two local regulars have been squandered cause the boss man wants to party and the bartender doesn't want to communicate. But the machine certainly kept our money. Also, the machine doesn't say "cash only", and there's a swiper for you to pay by credit card. But that doesn't work. Why is that, do you think? It's because they don't want you contesting the charge! Shady.

Yelp
IT'S A WONDERFUL (bar) LIFE! Yes, I cannot believe that I'm the first Yelp'er to make that movie reference! {patting myself on the back} Our networking group of writers, filmmakers, and other content creators recently held an event there for over 50 people, and the bar and staff could not have been better!!! And yes, I can agree with Zachary S's post (2/28/2016) that this bar doesn't reach the elevated status of a gastropub. But that's a GREAT thing! Because I don't really want a bar crowded with people who would actually use my own phrase of "elevated status of a gastropub"!!! If you take two steps inside Bedford Falls, you would not get the full effect. It would be like watching the first two minutes of the voiceover narration in the movie "It's A Wonderful Life" and thinking to yourself: "Is this really what everyone is raving about???" The front bar is cozy, and the staff always greets you...as friend or stranger. But make your way toward the back, and that's where you begin to understand how this bar is different than your stereotypical dive bar. The back room on the right has a wonderful lounge feel to it, and there's a great back patio (which I'm hating myself as I type that...because now other people will know about it when I hang out there with my friends after a Central Park afternoon). The manager Brendan, and his floor servers Ryan and Brian, were quick, patient, and accommodating to our whole group. The food menu had a lot of attractive treats, and I'm still kicking myself that I didn't get the brussel sprouts with my Bedford burger & tater tots. Great happy hour specials...even on the weekend. If you actually want a bar to hang out with friends, but actually get to hear your friends speaking, then Bedford Falls is better than the loud crowds at The Penrose or Stumble Inn. For our private group, the staff even turned off the music and TV audio in our back room so that we could talk more readily...which thrilled my crowd. Unassuming, yet impactful, just like George Bailey (to you millennial readers, that's Jimmy Stewart!)

Sally D.

Yelp
Bartender is quick to pass judgement. Be wary. Crowd is quite stiff. Drinks are overpriced. TV crowd is super fake. The front bar is a good shape, it's definitely got a neighborhood vibe. I wish the neighbors weren't so snotty though.

Morgan D.

Yelp
Good bar food, decent beer. I would give this place a 4 star if they had more flavor to their food and an extended beer selection. Bar tender is very nice! I would come back here if we wanted bar food in the neighborhood!

Christian B.

Yelp
I could sit and drink beer anywhere in the world but I choose to sit and drink beer here at Bedford Falls they have the best music and the best people not to mention some great food come spend an evening here and enjoy a good time
